Not to preach to the choir but I wonder if people generally realize that AI models like ChatGPT aren't, like, sifting through documented information when you ask it particular questions. If you ask it a question, it's not sifting through relevant documentation to find your answer, it is using an intensely inefficient method of guesswork that has just gone through so many repeated cycles that it usually, sometimes, can say the right thing when prompted. It is effectively a program that simulates monkeys on a typewriter at a mass scale until it finds sets of words that the user says "yes, that's right" to enough times. I feel like if it was explained in this less flattering way to investors it wouldn't be nearly as funded as it is lmao. It is objectively an extremely impressive technology given what it has managed to accomplish with such a roundabout and brain-dead method of getting there, but it's also a roundabout, brain-dead method of getting there. It is inefficient, pure and simple.

I initially thought the entity plot in DR was extremely goofy, like what do you mean a computer “controls the very truth itself” (<- extremely annoying grad student voice), and what a hysterical thing for the CIA of all agencies to be concerned about, but honestly I’m on board with it now because after rewatching dead reckoning again, it is so clearly a movie responding to concerns about like, digitally mediated medical + political disinformation during covid, and the fact that the background tension animating the film is that every government wants to get control of the entity in order to centralise and use this disinformation mechanism does feel very much like a response to the political responses to the pandemic (particularly from the US/UK/Canada/etc). obviously I’m not expecting any deeper engagement with like the political production of truth and knowledge or anything like that but this anxiety feels more cohesive and legitimate than I initially figured

-Taz is an unstoppable, near indestructible force of pure hunger made from teeth and claws and muscle. Gorenado is... noticeably less so due to Andrew not having the right mindset for a Looney Toon

-That said, he's still an enhanced version of the physically strongest Looney Toon with the brain of an evil genius who's well aware of the Power of Memes, so he's still incredibly dangerous

-Has similar speech troubles to the other Tasmanian Devils because apparently they just aren't anatomically equipped to comfortably speak English. This makes people underestimate him because they think he's dumber like this.

-Since he's a decent way up on the Admins' Most Wanted list, he's not gonna get much use out of this one until he finds a way to mask his Code Signature

-Has about three times the intellect of his base form. Not any wiser though. If he was he'd probably realize what an ass he is

-Chozo are also significantly stronger than humans, and are nearly as well known for their martial prowess as their technology and wisdom, so it's a solid choice in a fight. Not quite as great as the alternatives, but it does well in a pinch

-The average Rabbid, true to their nature in canon, has nearly as much Meme Energy and as little Impulse Control as most of the Avatars. Mayhem, who is by design the pinnacle of Rabbids, has more Meme Energy and less Impulse Control than Pre-Mario-Reset-Arc Mario in full Crazy Stupid Mode

For some interesting info on the device itself, now that he's got actual equipment to work with Andrew manages to give it the ability to switch between its full gauntlet form and a more compact form that looks like a stylish watch (both Because Rich Dude and Because Omnitrix). He also manages to add several more ammunition types to the Gauntlet form than just the immobilization goo.

i usually never post serious things on here but i just need to say this. as someone who is now facing life-altering, permanent, and painful health consequences after a decade of anorexia and bulimia, the revival of the heroin-chic era really really stresses me out. and not bc of my own ed- i was essentially forced to recover once my health issues started and my bf has been extremely supportive in helping me to not relapse. so i’m totally fine. but what i’m worried about is the people who are not committed to recovering from their ed’s normalizing this behavior and screwing up a whole entire new generation bc of that. between celebrities (ariana grande- queen of bodycheck posts who swears this is “the healthiest she’s ever been” (LMAO); nessa barrett actively spiraling from her ed while on tour and then writing song lyrics romanticizing not eating. like are you kidding me. (and yes ik there are some that are honest about it and i have lot of respect for them. i’m talking about the ones who KNOW they are role models for young people and still choose to promote these behaviors w/o ever explaining how unhealthy it is), and then thinspo/pro-ana/pro-mia/(whatever tf they’re calling it now) bloggers/tik tokers straight-up glamorizing their disorders while simultaneously (and usually subtly) shaming anyone who doesn’t have one at the same time???? that is so fucked up. so insanely toxic. even at the worst of my ed when i literally had to be hospitalized for malnourishment i NEVER encouraged others to follow in the same footsteps. and like i get it anorexia especially is competitive and i know it is so so hard to ignore those voices in your head which is why the pro-ana/mia community feeds off each other so well (no pun intended) and i also went to public school in a wealthy part of connecticut where everyone and their mothers had eds lmao so I UNDERSTAND i really do but honestly. you have to be some sort of truly fucked up and evil in the head to actually actively encourage another person to do this to themselves. i mean both the toxic bloggers/tiktokers and celebrities hiding their ed’s and/or implicitly encouraging their spread in whatever way- all of yall are so fucked up and it makes me sick knowing the new generation is going to have to grow up as miserably as i did because of this and there’s nothing anyone can do to really stop it aside from those who profit from it who very likely just won’t. i hate it here
