In general, I must say I prefer Romance Club’s tracks to Lovestruck’s, but Lovestruck had some really good ones sometimes, like Amara’s Theme (Vocals). As for writing, though…from what I recall, I got drawn into LS more easily (which is part of why I connected to more F-LIs from Lovestruck than I do with RC, I suspect).
Like, I’m listening to the Queen of Thieves OST right now, and I’m getting thrown back to how absorbed I’d get into it’s words and characters.
I always, always, always struggled not to post a million screenshots and videos of it on here (of course, then the company decided to threaten it’s fans, and I had to get rid of all those posts, and keep to the limits they stated for posting stuff, so I just started a whole new blog, which is why if you go far back in this blog, you’ll see some text posts I reblogged from that old blog before I deleted it, with I think the same name? Anyway, I digress). The feel of the settings of the stories I played and loved have stayed with me, as perfectly engraved in my heart as LIs I played the routes of (even those I felt no spark with, because they were just so well-crafted).
The only posts with screenshots from LS you’ll find from this blog, had kept to the 5 pics, no videos, and no Heart (premium) scenes rules. It’s a terrible shame, but I still love those posts.
I go back to them often, tbh.
It’s really interesting actually. Lovestruck didn’t let you change clothes or choose your MC’s personality, but it never felt like a loss, because the writing more than made up for it (imo), so much so I never even thought about needing those things when reading. Sometimes when I was struggling to figure out how to afford Heart scenes, I’d even thank my luck that at least there wasn’t anything else to buy but these extra scenes, as I wasn’t tempted to purchase even more Hearts, asdfghjkl.
Anyway: closing remarks or whatever, I miss QoT’s MC, she was so fuckin’ relatable and cool. And I miss all the characters, and their bickering. And I can still feel the settings the story used, like their base (the home feeling of it), the individual rooms and how unique they were. When writing is done really well, it’s not just the swooning or heartbreaking scenes that get stuck w/ you forever, but even the sun on your MC’s skin when they walk outside eating ice cream, or the freezing rain during the night. You can even remember the smell of vanilla in one scene from the candles. It all sticks like a real memory in your mind, because you get so immersed your brain processes an experience.
#basically they’re both IFs right? but LS felt more like reading a book (sinking so deep you forget the world around you)#and RC feels more like a video game (very engaging but you may break immersion often for various reasons; both in-game and not)#I could go on and on you don’t even know#like??? I listen to ‘circus practice’ from sin with me and from the very first notes#I remember the feeling of the hugeness of being in the big top (the tent)#the anxiety of the mc before an acrobatics performance#or in a different scene#the way her anxiety disappeared when performing with malakai blindfolded because of their (literal) soulmate connection#and it’s not that the music is inherently more immersive than RC’s! that’s what I’m saying!#it’s not the music (which I enjoy but RC’s is still better imo. it feels like there’s more realness to it—)#(—whereas LS music always felt more…catchy? not shallow but not especially-made for specific events in the stories?)
