I’ve said this a thousand times before, but the worse type of racism is often the passive type of racism. It’s a bit more insidious, imo. This is spurred on by a *specific* thing that occurred awhile back, but it’s so gaslighting. ‘Yeah this thing is racist, but here’s a dissertation about how it doesn’t matter bc I connected with this piece of literature.’ All that to say you were still going to keep supporting the author? Could’ve just kept it in the drafts.

#i sometimes look at my mile long block list out of curiosity #and there was one acc in particular that I block a whike ago that i totally forgot about #but anywho #I remember why I specifically blocked them #and it really brings up the ‘preaching passivity to black people’ under the guise #of allyship #bonus points for the fact I was only addressed because the problems had gotten so bad it was hard to ignore #and even then they were still prioritizing their love for the fictional character #you can engage with problematic media #for sure #but #if you’re always keen on silencing the problems and only addressing them for kudos points once it becomes ‘in’ to do so #it’s not really genuine is it?#running blog and continually talking about issues is great #running a blog that is constantly critical of people making those analysis and then just stealing those points #to parrot as ally points…yeah no.
