ough. random thoughts. narumi giving mina his hand to hold when she’s clearly going through a breakdown on the way to a breakout site. context is first n third division where they’re still new recruits are doing some joint trainings or a camp idk anyway they’re in the same team. and narumi doesn’t know how to calm people down alright.

but when his parents were still alive. when he still lived in an orphanage that Wanted him. he learnt that holding hands helped. doesn’t know the reason or whatever behind it but it’s what narumi Knows and he doesn’t. care about mina but she looks like she’s about to be Sick and None of the adults give a damn. or they don’t see it. or they choose not to see it. and narumi wonders if this is what it’s like being an 18 year old soldier with the weight of the world on their shoulders. the future of the jakdf relying on them.

he’s not someone who understands what it’s like. to be scared of fighting. To not feel anything but thrill at the feeling of tearing up or shooting down those monsters. but he knows what it’s like to feel alone.

so he offers his hand to mina. and they’re not friends. they’ve fought once or twice. mina probably hates him. but she takes his hand anyway. and they don’t speak of it for the rest of the ride.
