you ever see a stranger’s face and they’re upset or crying and it just pierces your heart
#I both love and hate it#because it does hurt#people just living their life are so different from people in movies#you know? and I love both but it’s just so different when it’s real#like. Oh there’s a person crying on the street#and it is not to paraphrase the words of taylor alison swift#just like a movie. the rain didn’t soak through their clothes down to their skin etc.

honestly, this whole thing is proving to me something...
in 2006 when i fell in love with taylor... it wasn’t just about the music. it wasn’t about the hype (lol hype in 2006). and my love for taylor since then hasn’t just been about the music or the hype. it’s about the person.
in 2006, i fell in love with the person taylor swift was. the girl who told her friends “fuck sewing machines” and joked about having orgies on myspace and had this perpetual problem of unrequited crushes. i fell in love with this idealist who had a way with words and just didn’t want to be lonely.
as she and i have grown over the years, we’ve grown together... and at the core of my love is the person. it’s the jokes and the emotion. it’s the girl who didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes, but yet still wanted to be herself... it’s the growth of learning that sometimes, you’ve got to let one of those goes and it shouldn’t be yourself.
when i say “i love taylor swift,” it doesn’t just mean “i love the hype/i love the persona/i love the music/i love this that and the other.” it means “i love the person, taylor alison swift.” it means “i have seen this person grow and develop into the adult woman that she is and i love her.”
to paraphrase spike, who said it best in btvs s7e20, “when i say ‘i love [taylor]’, it's not because i [buy into the hype] or [even the music] — it has nothing to do with me. i love what [she is], what [she does], how [she tries]…i've seen [her] kindness, and [her] strength, i've seen the best and the worst of [her] and i understand with perfect clarity exactly what [she is]. [she’s] a hell of a woman. You're the one, [Taylor].”
