what’s going on (i’m seeing out of context spn posts on my dash). what happened

HII OK SO actually im not even 100% sure on the details of this one but basically two actors on spn (one played a vampire who was lowk def fucking dean and the other played deans werewolf bf or actually like a human turned werewolf but thats not the point) were like best friends during filming like went to the others weddings and kept posting on twt abt being besties etc etc. but like literally all of the spn cast acts like theyre in love w each other genuinely they could be making out in public and everyone would be like “wow the cw is going hard w the queerbaiting promo this time”. but also like. i think ty (the vampire actor) literally posted a pic of them on best friends day and went like “we’re non-sexual life partners” or some insane shit like that a bunch of years ago so. so really it was a mess

anyway but like yesterday dj announced he was like fully in love w ty and also they were getting married!!!! im not totally caught up on the lore but judging by general reactions this was NOT expected. so for a normal tv show this would be met w “good for them!” but everyones still a little traumatized from bishagate two years ago and ppl were like okay this is gonna turn out a mistake he prob meant “platonic life partners” again this could be queerbaiting to promote s16 (which like isnt even confirmed yet) but like ppl werent fully sure??? like its PROBABLY real and that means being super happy for them but like their coworker literally accidentally came out once and didnt say anything for two days so who knows. but like. its prob true!!!!! and the trend of ppl getting married w their spn coworkers?? its insane. AND the werepire jokes bc they had the funniest possible casting combo AND the fact that they went from “im so happy youre getting married to her!” to “im marrying you asap”????? sooo funny i love spn sm we’re getting endless updates on the lore

see, ive just gained access back to. MANY of my old fic ideas and drafts. this is Dangerous. i have been Thinking

idea #1: the rebellion (religious righteousness and kidnapping)

this idea is OLDDD. like. one of my first tumblr drafts old.

the premise is set in a modern time but with a more medieval europe view on religion. the church of XD rules over the land, and it is the only religion accepted and celebrated. the high church has nearly complete control over politics and the views of the people, its pretty dystopian tbh.

emduo both do not practice the religion of XD/prime? I'm not sure if these two should be the same or seprate yet. will probably be decided when i start thinking about tommys part in the story.

anyways, phils death's angel sent down to earth to. yk. fix this shit. techno is the blood gods conduit(? blood god jesus) sent to do the same. its. kristin and the blood god were like alr yeah lets team up this XD guy needs his shit rocked.

so. techno and phil start a rebellion.

its slow going at first. the two immortals work, and bond, and live. they become very close friends. bestest buds. (if they knew the word theyd prolly say theyre a qpr. i say theyre a qpr. they just never talk to people or go online so they just dont know what that is)

the rebellion grows. they start to recruit people. at a concerning speed

at some point, phil finds baby wilbur, probably abandoned on the streets. he was abandoned out of fear, the wings on his back being unholy. phil regards him as a perfect gift from his goddess.

this is where dream comes in. dream is a priest for XD. he's fairly high in the ranks, but not high enough to satisfy him. with the whispers of a rebellion growing against their god, dream volunteers to check it out, hoping that maybe an act like that would sway the higher-ups to like. priest promote him

when dream heads over, he's treated as a guest. see, phil and techno do hope to settle this non-violently! it wasn't what they were expecting, but if they were able to convince the church to allow the practice of other religions, theyd be happy!

dreams. not easily convinced. he inspects everything with a judgment already made, that this place was disgusting, strong, and gaining *far* too much traction to be allowed to grow.

then dream meets wilbur. being him, he sees this helpless child, growing up in war and brutality (wilburs like. two at this point. and dreams watching him try to eat very a lovingly crafted handmade wooden block. its kinda concerning how much hes succeeding.)

anyways. the night before he leaves back to the church, he tells emduo that hed talk with the other members, they'd consider all that was discussed. that night, he packs up his shit, scoops up wilbur, and *runs*

he orders for the rebellion to be destroyed, once he gets back to the church. but emduo is too pissed off for that, now.

they cant go to the high church first. too much protection, XD favored it too much with not much else in mind.

so they opt for the slower route, despite not wanting to. world dominantion

the rebellion doubles, triples, quadruples in size. emduo are angry, theyre mourning the loss of their kid, and they know that this no longer is about gods wanting attention. not fully, anymore. they were fighting for something else, now. for revenge

...anyways, hows wilbur doing? hes. he gets raised in the high church, by dream. dream tells him aboit his childhood, through dreams pov, ofc, and about how the leaders of this horrible, demonic rebellion- they were looking for him.

wilbur grows up in fear. he sees phil doing speeches on tv, of new reports of more towns being taken, and god does wilbur feel terrible. that was his father. he didn't want to grow up to be... that.

anyways. wilburs... i havent really thought about his age, the day that the rebellion finally has the strength to storm the high church. dreams high priest by this point. with how long its all took, i think wilbur would prolly be around a preteen? not sure.

usually technos the one that leads sieges. phil does it, this time, filled with fury as he stabs the high priest before he can get a word out about bargaining. phil storms into that church with all the rage of a father, and not even XD dares to stop him.

phil finds wilbur at the end of the grand entrance hall. hes older. taller. there's a look of frozen fear in his eyes that shouldn't be there. but it was his son. and so phil doesn't hesitate to hold him close, wishing he could stab the fear out of wilbur like he had done the priest who gave him that fear.

oh, also. the church makes wilbur bind up his wings, since theyre unholy and that cant be seen in the high church. and phil is. horrified by this. wilbur hasn't gotten to move his wings in prolly whats nearing a decade.

wilbur gets lots of hugs

idea #2 alien/eldritch phil, human neo trio (kinda has a hunger-games like setting?)

this is the 10k word long one that im in the tedious process of both editing and figuring out an ending. so. i dont want to say... too much in details, in risk of spoilers. but i love this au its my baby

phil is a feathered creature. hes sharp and agile and big and *scary* as shit, and has been taken to a human research lab to figure out wtf this thing is

this research lab isnt the best, morally. i dont know much abt the scp foundation, but from what i do know, its... something like that. and so at some point, phils moved to this huge territory. theres a circular wall around the place, with a glass dome just tall enough that phil can fly over the trees and get a lay of the land. but hes still trapped, despite the miles upon miles of human forest that spanned on inside.

you know who else is trapped? three human children that were pulled into white vans and drugged. these three are NOT having a good time, trust me. they don't even know why theyre here, until tommy encounters phil one day in the forest and screams and runsnand doesn't look back until hes back with the other two.

phil. phil wonders why they placed juveniles in here with him. the other three make the (correct) assumption very early on that they were here for this eldritch alien looking mf to hunt. theres an explanation as to why the evil scientists did this however i am still working on it so thats a hush hush secret. whats important is there is a language barrier, a very terrifying soon to be dad, and three kids scared out of their minds (for now! theyll learn). what else do you need in a fic?

idea #3: tommy being spiderman while his adoptive uncle is a supervillain. whos already taken over the city and is aiming for the world

denz ive talked to you abt this one but it is still one of my favs

see, this idea stemmed off of miles and uncle ben's relationship in spiderman into the spiderverse but its grown into its own full fledged thing.

so. technos been a supervillain since before tommy was *born*, ok? hes a veteran and he has been PLOTTING he has had this evil plan for a LONG time

then tommy, his nephew, comes into the picture.

techno basically raises tommy, his actual dad (wilbur?) dying when tommy was very young. it... puts a hitch in his plans, sure, but techno loves tommy and doesn't really mind all that much. his plans could be slowed, and techno was a patient man.

then, tommy gets bitten by the spider. he gets his spiderman powers, and starts vigilante-ing.

heres the deal. techno never really saw it necessary for tommy to know hes a supervillain (<- STUPID). all tommy knows is that techno has a really sketchy job with really weird hours. which is like. alr cool yk?

but, tommy, this up-and-coming superhero, wants to go big. and what's bigger than fighting the city's buggest supervillain?

ohhh technos kicking this kids ASSSSS. its not pretty tommy is beat up and battered and bruised aughhh.

technos probably got tommy like. strangled against a wall when he realizes. tommy's pleading and his voice cracks and techno has this realization. that was his kids voice. he taught his kid to fight like this. this was his *kid*.

uhh what else. techno keeps up this rivalry so that tommy doesnt go out and fight villains who will actually kill him. tommy goes into the spiderverse at some point to meet ranboo and tubbo and techno forces his way in to get him back. yeah!

how i would run sm: Exo edition

starting a new series of posts in which i detail what i would have done for each sm group if i was in charge. im starting at Exo bc a.) theyre my ult sm group besides my beloved RV, b.) i think about them the most, and c.) they are where kwangya should have started properly instead of lsm/sm leeching off of their concept to apply to everyone else. anyway, under the cut bc this will likely be long

Early days (pre-debut to 2013): i have a few major changes, but nothing too out there.

first point of change: line-up and positions. Exo-K is fine as is, there isnt much to change about them besides Sehun and Kai needing more lines and better coaches early days to properly develop them like the rest of vocal line. Exo-M gets a major overhaul. first of all, Henry Lau should be leader instead of kw and even tho Luhan/Jongdae are both main vocal, they should cut their parts up more so Yixing and Minseok (and Henry) can shine as well. M has great vocalists, they should be used and while Minseok is perfect at everything, his vocals are underrated by p much everyone. Zitao should be the only rapper besides Minseok sometimes. putting kw was a bad move bc Zitao is their best rapper (equal to and sometimes better than Chanyeol) and he shouldnt have been put as lead rapper. the reason i chose Henry as leader btw is because he's friendly, a musical genius, handsome, and older while not being too much older than the rest of the group. he also wasn't doing much in suju since elfs wouldnt let him join the group and suju-m was a shitshow. he was wasted in that group and it shouldnt have existed.

second point of change: Mama should have gotten a webtoon/comic series to go along with their debut. Exo literally started the lore/storyline concept (afaik but please correct me if another group had an overarching storyline like they did), so why not actually flesh out the world/characters from the Mama intro and What Is Love? like a comic would have suited their story perfectly and would have drawn in a lot of interest, leading to a better reception of their debut.

third point of change: minor outfit issues. the drop crotch pants were ugly, Kai's Wolf hair, the entire Wolf era actually (besides pink Yixing and rainbow Sehun), uh the noose on Junmyeon for Mama. like so many style problems

fourth point of change: Miracles in December. K ver should have been Baekhyun, Kyungsoo, and Junmyeon. M ver should have been Jongdae, Luhan, and Yixing. that's all.

Beginning Popularity and the Painful days (2013-2015): more changes! but mostly for promotions and schedules.

first point: Exo-M should have lived/worked in China, at least for six months out of the year. China was, and is, their biggest market and fanbase and they should have done more than like 3 Happy Camp episodes. They should have had more concerts and fanmeets and tv appearances in China, which also would have helped with the profit distribution and other issues. Tencent Video, iQiYi, and Youku all started around the time they debuted, and it would have been so easy to pitch a variety/reality show like Exo's Showtime to them, hell even a scripted show like Exo Next Door could have worked. Busking events and mini fanmeeting tours across China to replace music show appearances (ex. Boystory did a series of busking events which is along the lines of what I'm thinking of). i think doing that and maybe a shorter tour for Exoplanet 1 + 2 would have been better and allowed for more rest between cbs and schedules.

second point: 2014/2015 should have been the start of sm station songs, not necessarily the actual thing but the idea of members getting to make solo songs and mvs and release them. i think it would have helped with some of the creative frustration some members felt during that time (specifically Zitao). also they should have let members open solo youtube channels and soundclouds for the same reason.

third point: this era is important for visibility and impact so there should have been better quality schedules and more time for members to rest and heal. whats the point of having all those schedules if people are missing them constantly due to injuries or mental health issues?? better to have more memorable promotions than a lot of appearances. (i will never get over the fact that theres only ONE Call Me Baby stage with Zitao AND Yixing AND the fact that i will never hear the Chinese version live even tho Tao's parts are superior to the entire Korean version)

2016-2019: Lucky One, Monster, Lotto were great eras to continue the webtoon previously mentioned since so much lore was included in those mvs. other than that i have no issues really and the CBX debut was a great idea. no notes besides the fact that i would have had them do mvs more like Mama in that its all members but only their sub group sings instead of like Wolf or Growl where its ot12 in video and song.

THE WAR now here is where everything needs to change. besides Kai's hair (again bc sm never learns). so first of all, scrap Kokobop or make it a bside idc. its fun and all but the missed opportunity to make the Eve the title track makes me mad. and its not about the choreo bc i dont care about that, listen to the lyrics for both versions. its all about fighting a battle and the dawning of a new era and all that shit and it would have been so much better as the title for an album called THE WAR, not to mention the potential for the Exo storyline and perhaps even an X-Exo tease?? like the PLOT would have been immaculate (in my head anyway). Power is fine and gets no notes, wouldnt change anything especially the comic and album inclusions. oh also they should have worked around Yixing's schedule for The War

Tempo/Love Shot are also fine but i would have included more of the Exo storyline in the mvs and YIXING FOR LOVE SHOT. other than that, no notes. Yixing solo music, Jongdae solo music, Baekhyun solo music, SC are also all perfect.

Wildest years of their careers (2019-2021): SuperM was fine for Jopping but i would have changed the line up majorly (but thats for another day). also Obsession was perfect but i would have included the leaked footage. Junmyeon solo debut was also good (the solos are fine and i wouldnt really do anything with them changes wise). oh also how funny is it that Zitao did like two X-Exo concepts before Exo themselves (AB Style and AI). SuperM SuperOne was a mistake and shouldnt exist imo, like the songs are fine and i like some of them but there was no need to continue. Kai solo debut was also perfect and the nod to the Exo powers/lore was amazing

Don't Fight the Feeling was super cute and needed in Exo Planet and even though Yixing was a hologram, i was still happy to see/hear him. I would have done more promo for it but oh well, the Exo Arcade was good. Kyungsoo's solo debut should have had stages and performances even if it was just him alone in a room in the sm building. like there was no reason not to promote the album at all

2022: Exo Ladder was a really good idea and Junmyeon's Grey Suit was perfect. they were both the feel good content that Exols needed while there wasn't much going on. i would have had members maybe do a bit more solo/unit activities like maybe Sehun solo debut but it was pretty busy with Yixing's music and acting and Kyungsoo's show.

Minseok's solo album was decent, but personally i didn't vibe that much with the title or b-sides and I wish he had a better debut. but i wrote about that already when it came out.

small smtown mention: why the fuck didn't Yixing get to go bc he should have performed Love Shot with them bc he was there and he already knows the dance and he's a great vocal. like what the fuck sm

Future plans: SEHUN AND CHANYEOL SOLO DEBUTS, KAI3, KYUNGSOO2, MINSEOK2, JONGDAE ROCK ALBUM, EXO CB WITH YIXING, a totally self indulgent version of Phantom of the Opera with Jongdae as the Phantom and Le Sserafim Yunjin as Christine, SKY unit, Minseok/Sehun unit, my other self indulgent unit for Kai/Yuta/Joy.

overall thoughts: most of my changes are for early days and honestly i wouldnt change a lot in the later years besides capitalizing on the lore more and letting members have more freedom (creatively and personally). the divide between K/M should have been a little bit greater with only a few cbs in their career being ot12 since K and M were received and treated differently in multiple countries. i think maybe only the songs with lots of lore attached should be ot12 (thats with Henry btw). i think thats everything? if not, oh well its long enough anyway
