Hello hello! I read your tidbits for plant ww au and if you don't mind me asking, how come ww is no longer able to verbally communicate? Did dying and reviving take away some of his physical capabilities? Or is that simply a consequence of becoming half plant? 🤔 ww being alive is all that matters but I'm so curious!

hello!! at the time, i think i made it that way because of him becoming half plant-ish? admittedly, i didn’t give the logistics too much thought but he doesn’t make a lot of sounds and doesn’t speak, like dependent plants. it Probably means that something physically has been affected, but i haven’t researched enough into what i want that to be :’] i also think since he woke up again, he hasn’t felt the particular urge to communicate verbally/found viable enough solutions to make do. he isn’t able to communicate with plants either in the shared consciousness way.

if i go deeper into this au, i might change more things around… i’ve already started adjusting what capabilities he should have as being a revived guy from a little less than half of vash’s power + love. ashamed to say i haven’t given too much thought into plants hcs and full capabilities either!! i always forget what they’re capable of in canon ;;

14.  the  timeline  in  which  they  took  a  chance  they  didn’t  in  canon  !

zihao’s  senior  year  was  only  somewhat  eventful,  in  the  sense  that  he  was  crafting  out  his  coming  of  age - esque  escape  and  just  overall  absorbed  by  his  plans  to  get  up  n  out  of  town  forever …  it  was  one  of  his  quiet  years  bc  he  was  obsessively  researching  n  preparing  for  his  move  (  he’s  not  v  booksmart  but  those  few  brain  cells  he  has  worked  overtime  out  of  desperation ig …  ), while  everyone  else  worried  abt  college,  finding  jobs  after  graduation,  etc.  he  readily  admitted  by  the  time  that  he  was  17  that  he  didn’t  want  to go  to  college  and  would  just  say  that  he  planned  to  find  a  job  n  work  his  way  up,  possibly  open  up  a  sporting  goods  store  down  the  road  (  which  he  still  wants  to  do  one  day  but  also  doesn’t  want  to  deal  w/  the  legalities  of  it  all …  plus  it  would  hurt  to  ditch  it …  for  once  something  having  an  effect  on  him …  people  ).  buuut  ofc,  a  few  of  his  friends  would  bitch  n  whine  abt  the  college  process  constantly  and  zihao  would  just.  yawn.  “how  bad  can   it  really  be?”  them  bc  he  used  to  be  an  even  bigger  ass  than  he  is  now.  so  he  decides  to   apply  for  some  state  school  up  in  idaho,  of  all  places,  just  for  shits  and  giggles.  (  which  is  what  he  would  say  if  anyone  asked..  aka  he  kept  it  to  himself  and  didn’t  tell  anyone  so  was  it  really  for  shits  and  giggles?  would  he  rlly  not  have  taken  the  opportunity  to  garner  some  attention  if  that  were  the  case???  who  knows  w/  this  idiot   )  finishes  his  app  all  in  one  day,  makes   234823  different  mistakes  filling  out  his  basic  info  because  he  refuses  to  ask  for  help  or  talk  to  his  dad  about  it,  and  his  essays  are  full  of  basic  spelling  errors  but  apparently  it  had  enough  heart  to  get  him  accepted  SDFKJDJF.  ofc  he  didn’t  actually  consider  it  for  a  second  and  immediately  sent  the  email  to  the  junk  folder  of  his  yahoo  account,  but  in  a  world  where  he  would  have  taken  it  and  moved  on  over  there,  he  would  have  absolutely  detested  it.  he  hates  academia,  hates  being  in  one  place  for  that  long,  BUUUUT  would  have  loved  the  college  parties.  basically  would  become  another  victim  of  the  party  lifestyle  while  living  on  academic  probation,  eventually  venturing  out  into  parties  within  the  college  town,  and  graduated  from  college  partying  to  adult  partying.  the  difference  is  that  there  would  have  been  people  who  wanted  to  help  him  before  he  spiraled  into  the  pre  -  existential  crisis  zihao  who  was  the  second  worst  human  being  to  be  around  (  second  to  post - existential  crisis  and  pre -  sobering  up  zihao  ),  and  i  feel  like  he  would  have  briefly  considered …  not  going  down  that  road,  but  when  zihao  has  his  mind  made  up  he  has  made  it  up  ..   so  he  would  have  up  and  left  anyway,  whether  it  be  freshman  or  sophomore  year.  genuinely  don’t  think  he  would  have  made  it  to  finishing  his  b.a.  but  maybe  he’d  surprise  me,  depending  on  the  people  he  met  and  if  he  felt  a  pull  to  them ...  which  is  unlikely  since  in  all  of  his  verses,  he  maxes  out  at  about  1.4  people  he  can’t  shake  SDKJFJD.  anyway,  he’d  also  have  a  “home  base”  of  sorts,  making  the  college  town  his  home  since  in  his  main  verse  he  doesn’t  have  one,  and  that  would  change  a  lot  for  him  since  he’s  just  so  anti  homes  and  anti  attachment  to  spaces.  would  visit  his  college  friends  there  from  time  to  time,  even  if  it  was  only  every  few  years.  i  don’t  think  going  to  college  would  change  him  too  much  as  a  person  or  affect  the  journey  that  he’s  been  in  a  super  drastic  way,  but  it’d  definitely  help  mellow  him  out  and  he  just  wouldn’t  be  as  bad  of  a  case  as  he  turned  into  by  going  on  said  journey  straight  out  of  high  school.  it  wouldn’t  be  life - altering  differences  but  more  like  an  extra  bit  of  development  for  him  so  he  could  be  less  of  a  shit  human  being,  and  maybe  even  put  an  end  to  his  …  borderline  terrible  lifestyle  a  little  earlier.  would  probably  also  know  how  to  do  basic  math.
