Someday the "if you still read Harry Potter fanfic you are LITERALLY funding transphobia" crowd is going to realize that Brandon Sanderson tithes to the Mormon church and that's probably when I'll just delete my account

#me gently tossing a live grenade into the cosmere fandom just to see what happens #to be clear: i think it's fine to read/watch harry potter stuff and i think it's fine to read sanderson's stuff #but i know i've seen cosmere fans reblog stuff about how consuming ANY hp content means you're supporting transphobia #and if you think that any interaction with an IP whose author supports harmful causes is morally wrong . . .#well. bad news about sanderson i'm afraid!#and i like him and his books! i think he's a decent guy who just can't shake the cult conditioning!#and honestly he's come a LONG way in acceptance of LGBTQ matters and I respect that given the opposition he faces from his community #but like. let's not kid ourselves about the what the mormon church stands for
