S4 E4 Supernatural
Dean finds out that Sam is using his demon powers to expell demons without killing the host. Now I understand both sides, it's not like I'm on one side, I see both. On Dean's side a literal Angel of the Lord came down to say 'talk shit into your brother or we go after him' and he found out Sam was lying to him for like a year. But on Sam's side he found out he's like the things he hunts, but he found a way to help people with the evil thing he was given. They're both going through it, they're both scared and traumatized, they both are right and wrong.

“You’re good. A monster pain in the ass… but you’re good.”  Speed demon
Did someone say, daddy! Damian and Mommy! Irey? Because I think they did!
---
Wally and Linda West have done well in the last 20 years. Through a lot of hard work and persistence, they’ve managed to find a place to call home. Throughout the years, their lives have been documented by the clutter-- Baby toys, worn-out running shoes littering the entry hall, backpacks filled with half-finished English homework, outdated science books covered in crayon. Now, there’s less in the house, half the occupants having moved out. In place of the clutter, laughter and conversation have filled the walls.
Wally sets down a plate of sandwiches on the coffee table. His son, Jai, plays their hand-me-down piano, singing under his breath. Linda slows down as she comes in with some lemonade to kiss Jai’s cheek. Jai takes the lemonade from his mother. “Here, Mom, let me help.”
“Oh, where was this polite young man two years ago?” Linda teases.
“I think there was a little shit in his place,” Jai says, making them both laugh. Lian sits on the squishy loveseat, writing something in her journal with her messy scrawl. Jai sets the lemonade down, moving her feet to sit and setting them in his lap. Irey, his twin sister, sits on one end of the sofa. She watches the other two at the other end with a soft, warm smile.
“Oh, Lightning Bug,” Irey coos to the one-month-old infant in Damian Wayne’s arms. “Did you spit up on Baba? Huh?”
“I told her not to eat too fast, beloved.” The former assassin smiles down at their daughter. Asha yawns, stretching in her father’s arms. One month old and she’s still a bit small. Healthy for sure, just small. Beautiful without question. Dark curls, a dusting of freckles across her button nose, gorgeous tanned skin, and bright green eyes that finally open for the day. Damian kisses her head, “What are you looking at, Baby flower? What do you see?”
“Alright, it’s Grandpa’s turn with his newest Bug,” Wally informs his daughter’s boyfriend. Damian begrudgingly hands Asha to Wally. Their former feud might have died down in the last year or so, but Damian’s very, very possessive of his little girl. Wally bounces his granddaughter, “Hey there, Bug, Grandpa’s missed you. Your mom and dad never let me see you.”
“Dad!” Irey laughs “We were here last Sunday! Remember? You two fell asleep with the tv on.”
“Doesn’t ring a bell.” Wally winks. Linda swats her husband’s bottom.
“Wallace, behave or Halmeoni will take away your baby privileges.” Linda kisses her granddaughter’s head, “Isn’t that right? Grandpa knows better than to miss with Halmeoni.”
Lian gives a small laugh, “Irey, a question for you. How long until your kid is multilingual?”
“Well, I talk to her in Korean, Damian in Arabic, and most people talk to her in English. I’d say before she’s three.” Irey shrugs. Her phone starts to ring and she checks the caller id, “Shit, that’s Dinah. I need to take this. Be back soon.”
She gives Damian a kiss, stepping outside. Damian adjusts in his spot. If they didn’t know better, they’d say he looks nervous.
“I have something to discuss with you all.” He clears his throat. Reaching into his pocket, he pulls out a tiny velvet box. Inside rests a simple lightning bolt with a ruby set into the gold. “I know Irey isn’t a fan of rings, but...I’d like to ask for your blessing to propose.”
“Oh?” Wally asks. “And why should we say yes?”
“I know that there are things I’ve done in my life that I’ll always regret. But loving your daughter will never be one of them. Irey makes me want to be better. She doesn’t make me better, she gives me a reason to be better.” Damian’s eyes flick to the baby in Wally’s arms. “She’s blessed me with a daughter and I want nothing more than to go through life by her side as her husband.”
“Damn, Damian.” Lian whistles. “Gotta admit that’s pretty poetic.”
“I mean it. There was a point in my life that life was about surviving to the next day. Being on a team with everyone helped me to see there’s more to life than survival. But Irey’s the one who taught me that the ordinary can be extraordinary.”
“I don’t know about Wally, but I know how much she loves you,” Linda smiles at the young man. “And I’d be more than happy to add you to our family as another son.”
“Always wanted a brother.” Jai teases. “Not sure if you wanted my approval, but you’ve got it.”
“I did. Irey loves you and values your opinion. If I’m to get her family’s blessing, I’d like yours as well.”
“Wally?” Linda raises an eyebrow at her husband. As if to remind him of the last five months. Heretics battle, Damian’s death, Irey’s month-long coma. The dead look in their daughter’s eyes after she woke up, finding out her lightning rod was gone. The stupor she’d been in as her belly grew with the baby now resting in his arms. The joy in her face when Damian was brought back.
“Look, we haven’t gotten along, kid.” Wally starts. Damian steels his heart, ready to fight for her. “But you’ve never really given me a reason to think you’d hurt her. As long as you do right by her and Asha, you’ve got my blessing.”
“And here I thought you didn’t like me.” They all laugh, but Damian’s noticeably more relaxed.
“You’re good. A monster pain in the ass...but you’re good.” Wally nods. Damian slides the necklace box back into his pocket before Irey comes back into the room. “Everything ok, Lightning bug?”
“Yeah, Dad. Just a check-in and lost track of time.” She notices the smile on Damian’s face. “What’s up with that, babe?”
“Just a good conversation, my love,” Damian says simply. No proposal for today. The young parents cuddle their daughter while Jai and Lian tease each other like they always have. Seeing their children with the people they love, seeing the joy on their faces, hearing the subtle declarations of love, confirms one thing to Linda and Wally.
They did good.
