the station 19 writers really are just spending the season planting the seeds to everyone's storylines post-cancellation, like some are subtle (it feels like they're soft launching the idea of maya leaving the fire service) and others couldn't be more obvious (ben getting injured and leaving the fire service, going back to the hospital and being a bigger part of grey's again next season)
