COLOUR WEEK

this is the week for playing with palettes and working on your colour theory skills! if you're really struggling with these ones, don't worry about drawing scenes or characters, you can just have fun splashing colours around on an abstract canvas!

11 🤍 RGB a set or primary colours typically used in digital/screen art - red, green and blue!

12 🤍 CMYK a set of primary colours typically used in traditional/print art - cyan, magenta, yellow ... and key (black!)

for both of these days ↑ you can add in black and white. and feel free to combine the two days into one, if you're struggling with a three-colour palette! use all six!

13 ⭐ WARM COLOURS the warm side of the colour wheel, reds oranges and yellows!

I really like it when fan artists in the Splatoon community draw Hypno Callie as Callie but way more psychotic and fucked up.

The way artists draw her with the swirly eyes, red backgrounds, unique posing, etc, it's so cool! Way better than drawing her as some cold brainwashed zombie that sucks the life out of Callie because God forbid that woman has a neutral expression.

It fits more in line with how Hypno Callie actually acts like in Splatoon 2. She ain't a mindless brainwashed drone and the Callie we know is gone as lots of people say oh no no no. She is a CRAZY WOMAN!!! Her dialogue is shockingly similar to her harsh dialogue found in Splatoon 1 Splatfests.

Like... friendly reminder, hypnosis ≠ brainwashing/mind control. You cannot use the two terms interchangeably no matter how hard you try to argue. Hypnosis is a weird and unique state for a person to be in.

To me, Hypno Callie works best when Callie who has been under a lot of distress and suffering from her lonely busy life, runs off and decides to join the Octarians out of her own free will, and Octavio creates these hypnotic shades in order to basically keep Callie under control more as she is a wild card and could decide to run off at random. He doesn't outright brainwash her or mind control her, but he just gives her suggestions in a relaxed hypnotic state, and those suggestions just so happen line up with Callie's morals in her mentally unwell mind.

And Callie... she just needs help. She needs that reminder of the good memories she went through. All the times with Marie... when the shades get shot off of her, she still fights with Marie, she's still angry and full of this darkness inside her heart. But when she hears that heavenly melody... all of those positive memories finally rush back into her and she goes "wait... I remember! YEAH!!!" And then she finally reunites with her cousin and gets to have a fresh start with her...

It makes Splatoon 3 more satisfying too as Callie and Marie are so happy together and look back at the past with respect and go "you know, if it wasn't for those events, maybe we wouldn't be the people we are today." That's some incredible stuff man.

And when fan artists properly show that and show Hypno Callie as the girl we know but in a crazed state that needs help, it's some powerful art...

I've seen so much art of Hypno Callie with octopus tentacles around her and her "brainwashing" Marie too and it's so fucking vile and uncomfortable and disgusting to me. Its so gross that people wanna treat Callie like that, you know? It's this weird... disturbing and... here we go....

.....sexual thing the community used to do back in 2017 to 2019. It was an awful time and the VERY SERIOUS AND DISTURBING implications that it brought up are just... WHY?!?!?! GOD WHY?!?! UGHHH!!! You want Callie to be kidnapped, get brainwashed forcefully, lose her memories AND THEN GET SEXUALLY... NO... IM NOT GONNA FINISH THAT! FUCK YOU!!! FUCK OFF!!! HOW DARE YOU!!! HOW FUCKING DARE YOU!!!!

Ugh...

...But I'm very glad that fan artists have moved past that weird and uncomfortable phase and are drawing this important arc for Callie in a more visually powerful way.

So yeah, good job Splatoon fan artists! You're doing DAMN great!!!! Now it's time for youtubers and timeline explainers to pick up the slack....

generally i draw the ninja in a pretty vague "around or after crystalized but before DR" timeline so that's what i'm operating under with these headcanons

also i didn't draw zane here cuz android bodies confuse me and i also got. lazy hgkfdsghkjf but i'll do his someday

lloyd's 20~ and the other ninja are mid 20s~

FIRST UP MY FAVS

starting with lloyd i give him a dragon tail and oni horns, as well as pointed ears. he's got a semi-grunge/goth style so i usually draw him with piercings and stuff. he lost his arm during the events of hunted to me but i dont really have a set event in mind for it. his back was SUPER damaged during the sons of garmadon fight and sometimes has to wear a back brace, and his ankle flares up from time to time

jay kept a lot of his scars hidden for a while because they came from skybound (some of his worst injuries lingered from the timeline). not sure whether he's come clean to the ninja yet or not. the marks on his wrist and ankle are from vengestone cuffs on the ship (blame hat because they gave jay vengestone cuffs in bbnb and it broke my brain so my jay has them now). the wound on his side is from skybound as well. ironically his face scar is NOT from skybound, but he was blind in that eye after skybound and hid it from the team. the current scar is from a fight where an enemy sliced a knife up the side of his face, and his lightning reacted badly and struck him while also striking the enemy. he almost died it was NOT a fun day for anybody. also he's a trans man so top scars!!

nya's scars are fun, she obviously has the tiger widow venom scar from skybound (kai finds out about that one after it gets infected cuz she wasn't taking proper care of it after the timeline reset, and he was NOT happy about it) but she also has lichtenberg scars on her hand from a time jay was holding it and accidentally shocked her badly with his powers. he starts wearing gloves after this incident. she also, of course, still has the markings from her time merged with the sea. they glow blue when she uses her powers, and her eyes are more glowy now as well (she kinda looks like a cryptid)

kai's deceptively scrawny. he has basic muscles but he's super skinny, so a lot of people think he isn't as strong as the rest of the ninja. however he's CRAZY strong and has a solid core. He also has a bunch of scars all over his hands from his time as a blacksmith. They're mostly little burns and nicks, but there's one that stretches across his hand from when he accidentally grabbed a hot blade. he also has a lot of body hair

cole is chubby but INSANELY strong, even without super strength. he has a bunch of scars, especially on his arms, from being tanky and blocking blows with his body. most of his scars are ninja related, but he does have one on his leg from a dance accident. nothing major, but the scar stuck around. he also has his ghost scar that goes over his eye somewhat, causing his pupil to be an unnatural green

also a height chart for comparison! one day i'll do zane too but i got lazy. hard to figure out scars for a nindroid, but i imagine that under his plating, the side of his face will ALWAYS have glowing gold scars from the overlord, no matter how many times he makes a new body or tries to fix them

Choices fandom appreciation shoutouts

This event is so so so lovely and I really want to join in hehe. I'm not great at expressing my thoughts/feelings and stuff but I really wanna try because I'm really thankful for all of u guys!! :)

When I first posted on this account last summer I honestly expected I'd probably post a few things and dip again because I usually don't get much attention on social media platforms. And also wasn't sure if anyone would really vibe with my approach to characters and stories hahaha 🙈.

But instead people were so nice and I felt so welcomed and like 'oh wow people seem to actually enjoy what I do??' And I had so much fun reading the tags left on reblogs of my art and stuff. And alongside that it has been soooo fun to see everyone elses posts and characters and leaving my thoughts on those as well (and slowly getting less shy about it too 💪). And I even started reading fanfic for the first time in my life hahaha.

I feel like I'm rambling but I just really want to say all this haha, it's been so fun being on here! I love drawing everyone's characters and other requests and will keep doing that (like pleeaase dont be shy, I love drawing everyone's characters) because it's fun and it's also kinda how I say 'thank you' for all being so nice to me!! So yeah thank you all for making me feel so welcome the past months! :)

Especially as someone who usually has trouble making friends and putting myself out there due to shyness it means a lot!

Second of all, we got our twitter account back! We ended up deleting that one post that twitter didn’t like (yes, the one that doesn’t have anything explicit or any nudity on it), which obviously sucks, but at least now we can jump back to posting more or less regularly.

And now that this situation is over, I can say about the thing that honestly tickled me: the last person who wrote a callout post on me right before our acc got locked (=the person who very likely caused the massreporting in the first place) got accused of grooming a 13 y.o. and had their account terminated the very next day. We love first year Rook with first year Idia so much, Anon, you have no idea! And Rook/Idia in general, this is one of the things that I really want to draw properly at least once. For now we only have sketches…

But to answer your question! I like to think that Rook was very intrigued by Idia right away; of course Idia isn’t a beastman, but he is not only super bright and shiny-looking (unusual! Interesting!), but also is a very rare pokemon to see. It’s very easy to picture Rook getting excited and charmed by him, maybe he even had a period of a little obsession~ But of course none of this is in any way returned by Idia; to him being suddenly surrounded by so many loud and annoying people his age is already stressful enough, but Rook is somehow worse than all of them combined. He hates everyone from Savanaclaw, but they’re usually just rude jerks, but Rook? If only he was a rude jerk…

This is such a good question, Anon. It’s honestly still kind of easy to imagine him doing that. He punishes himself constantly, and while I don’t think this is necessarily about control, this absolutely could be about wanting to make himself feel even worse or to distract himself from the other kind of deep pain he’s feeling. Since we’re talking about a character here, as an artist I can also add that seeing him this way could be aesthetically pleasing, there are some very good artworks with this theme.

That being said, we usually tend to think that Idia wouldn’t do that. I agree that Idia being phobic of pain sounds very like him, but also? He is very detached from the physical side of things in general, I think. He would rather torment himself mentally.

Another reason for Idia and selfharm not really working in our heads is that I don’t think Ortho would let him. He is very sensitive to changes in his health condition after all.

hiii I was given an excuse to talk my head off so I will! any excuse not to think about current events tbh!

my crownie's name is Asphodel, but I just call them Azzie. idk if their name fits with the other siblings well like, Salvatorem, Percival, Asphodel, Orla? I'm iffy, but i feel like im too far in now. a big like, design note for me about them is their hair is naturally like dark brown but they fucking bleached it to shit so it's totally fried. it was a major impulse choice, it's gotten to the point where the roots are pretty visible but they are not gonna fix it. in my brain the way the roots split up are the actual flower. I wanna draw them later so it's more clear... not realistic at all but my artist design brain takes forefront. I imagine they have really droopy eyes. in my head they're very wet cat.

my favorite characters are Sally and Percy!! I love sibling dynamics in IFs and I love that we actually get to spend time with them in game. I made lime a bunch of design notes about them to match Azzy at some point but I definitely lost them. one thing I do remember is noting I think Percy would have like 3B textured hair if you know what I mean? and Sally is thicker at like 3c - 4a but would either keep his hair really short or in locs for tidines sake so it's. irrelevant. i just like to think hes stressed out so hed like a hair style that doesn't require as constant Maintenance to look good. this is the situation that they are black men cause my crownie is black so (vague hand wave). I imagined Orla also has like 3b hair.

I ended up romancing Lorcan because. man do I love sibling dynamics! I love the idea of Azzy seeing in Lorcan something they couldn't have, a remnant of their sister, someone they miss but also resent to some extent. of course not consciously, I always imagine they like can acknowledge they feel something towards Lorcan, but not fully what and that freaks them out so they just choose not to think about it? especially since I play them being very nice to him and I like to think they don't even fully know why they're being like that. they're naturally conflict avoidant, you get into so much trouble for things you can't control, you sort of want to avoid it whenever you can now, but this is weird. and they're already weird if they think something Is weird? what the FUCK is going on? can't tell anyone either, want to more reasons for people to think you're a freak? choosing not to think about it. 3000 other things to think about that are not this.

Could I request a letter for your Valentines Day Letter Event? I would love love LOVE a letter from baji. We've been friends since middle school and we became offical when we went to the same University. (He does veterinary medicine and I do art.) I'm 20 and he's 21 (dating for a couple of years at the time of him writting ir) and well... he does call me a variety of pet names depending on his mood (just wanna be call dollface/cutie). TONE: I'm thinking about a hurt to comfort letter where I get hurt/bullied (harassed and peer pressured by bullies and idk how to response bc i thought uni wasn't the place for bullying and high school drama. Guess not 💀) and he saves me but I don't respond bc i feel week and I should have done something instead of waiting for him ro come save me and I just feel undeserving of his love and isolate myself in my dorm (we live in different dorms). Baji not being sure on what to do/not wanting to pressure me (ik he isn't like this but shhh it's for the sake of the letter) write a letter expressing how much he genuinely cares for me and loves me (without it being out of character) and that I'm not alone and I have him. Location: it takes place at uni (so he slips it through underneath the door. After I read it, he comes in and we just cuddle and watch a movie (whilst hes holding me in his strong arms. He stays the night and makes me breakfast, also he "talks" to my bullies so that when I see them again they all run away 🏃 (they want no smoke). Other information: I'm usually the more affectionate one between us and like he reciprocates (was quite shy at first but warmed up to it and how he starts it... it gets a little heated sometimes if he's jealous 😳). I hope I'm not coming off as ooc by saying this (please correct me if I am). I feel like baji is somewhat reserved in public (unless he's jealous) like the most he'll do if give me a kiss or a brief hug (maybe ruffle my hair) but like o can tell he cares. I can't proprrly articulate it but he isn't just a feral troublemaker, he's more than that (acts of service - giving me water, snacks if so I don't get hungry or thirsty/reminding me to like eat and hydrate. Also I can confinde him about anything and he won't judge me for it. Also he doesn't judge me for my autism (actually G checks and fucks up anyone who tries it) and he doesn't care if I'm stimming or pacing around and like it's just really nice to not be seen as weird. Also like he's really attentive like if I'm having a shitty day he wont just not say anything, he'll pick up on it and do his dammest to make it go away. Like giving me advice (amazing if not a bit blunt), or doing what he can. Also I sometimes draw portraits and art of him bc I love him (and my hobby is art) and even if he insists I don't need to. I always make sure to buy him gifts (new cat toys/food, veterinary resources, yskisoba and snacks, etc) bc I want to give back to him.

Baji's Comforting Letter to His Girlfriend

Note: Happy Valentine's Day! Hope you enjoy your letter from Baji :)

Baji feels awkward standing in front of your dorm door, his letter grasped between his fingers. You had run away from him a few days ago after he helped you out upon seeing your classmates harass you. Not knowing what to say after that, he gave you your space, but you still hadn’t reached out to him at all.

Worry filled him after your silence. Were you upset with him for some reason that he didn’t immediately reach out to you? Anxiety bubbled up within him as he stood outside your dorm room. It was Valentine’s Day and while that usually meant just staying indoors and ordering takeout with you like any other date, Baji felt like he had to do something extra for you this year to cheer you up. 

He wasn’t used to expressing his affection for you verbally, especially not in a letter since his handwriting was horrible and he couldn’t spell to save his life, but this is what lots of guys did for their girlfriends, right? Maybe it would help you feel better.

Swallowing his pride and brushing his embarrassment away, he slips the letter under your door and knocks a few times before rushing to hide behind a nearby wall so you wouldn’t see him.

You, busy sulking on your own in your dorm, jump slightly at the sudden knock on your door. You were  embarrassed that you had run away from your boyfriend after he helped you out. Of course you were grateful for his help and having him protect you like that sent butterflies erupting in your stomach, but you had let your classmates' words get to you. You felt undeserving of Baji’s love, how could you possibly deserve his attention when you were just you?

Sighing, you stand from your bed that you were wallowing away on, and approach your door, seeing an envelope in front of it. Curiously, you pick it up and see your name written on it. You look through the peephole of your dorm door but don’t see anyone outside it, opening the door slightly just to make sure no one was there, before closing it again.

You take a seat on your bed again as you open the envelope and begin to read its contents;

Hey Dollface,

Did I scare you off the other day? Or were you embarrassed that I found out you were getting picked on? You know I don’t care about things like that, but I wish you had told me yourself so I could have helped you out sooner. Don’t worry about those idiots, they won’t bother you again, in fact, no one will bother you again, I’ve made it very clear to them that they shouldn’t mess with my girl…

I’m sorry if I upset you for not running after you and giving you space. I should have looked for you and comforted you right away. But just…don’t feel like you’re alone. We’re partners, I want to share the pain you feel and I want to know when someone is bothering you so I can sort it out quickly. I love you too much to see you throw yourself down like that. If anything, I’m the one undeserving of you.

Anyway, it’s Valentine’s Day and I heard guys write stupid letters like these or something, so here it is. I really don’t get it, but if it makes you happy then good. I love you.

You know who, do I really need to say it??

You smile to yourself as you read the letter, it was so like him. Super curt, straight to the point,  and probably took him forever to write out properly since the grammar and spelling were perfect. You read through the letter one more time, your eyes always stopping at his words ‘my girl’. You were his girl, despite how many times you may have thought you didn’t deserve his love, Baji would never pretend to be interested in you, he knew what he wanted, and that was you.

The only thing you’d ever picture him doing is pushing you away if you were ever in danger because of him. But he’d never lead you on and pretend to care for you, so why were you so worried in the first place?

You laugh to yourself and quickly grab your things, wanting to see him as soon as possible. Two days without being in his arms was long enough. You open your dorm door, but you definitely don’t expect to see your handsome man in front of you already. He backs you up into your dorm room and closes the door behind him, his eyes never leaving yours.

You could see his red ears, hinting as his embarrassment from his letter, but he still stood tall, his confidence never leaving. 

“Did you read it?” He asks, a hand coming up to rub your arms.

Baji had never been one to initiate affection with you, but since dating you for a while and getting used to your touchiness, he finds himself reaching out to you first now more often. He loves it.

“Mhm, thank you,” you smile, leaning in to press a kiss to his lips. “I loved it, and I love you. Thank you for stepping in the other day for me…and I’m sorry for running off on you like that without a word, I just felt embarrassed.”

He shakes his head and laughs huskily, pulling you into his arms, his chin leaning on your shoulder as he squeezes you tight, “You don’t need to apologize. It’s my job to look out for you, just know that they won’t be bothering you again. They know what’ll happen if they do.”

You hug him back, missing the feeling of having his arms around you

“I’m sure you did. Thank you,” you hum, before a teasing smile graces your lips, “Happy Valentine’s Day. Such a romantic gesture to threaten my ‘bullys’ for me.”

He groans in your neck, guiding you back to your bed where he pushes you back into the mattress, hovering over you, “Yeah yeah, Happy Valentine’s Day. As long as you’re happy.”

And happy you were as he leaned down to pepper kisses all over your face.

Your day of love was spent cuddled up together with a movie playing in the background as Baji later attempts to cook brunch since it was still early on in the day. It wasn’t perfect, but you could care less as long as you got to spend it with him, that’s all that mattered.

okay. OKAY SO. gonna give u a basic rundown. basically, i have my Gravity Falls ocs (they're the ones i talk most about so i'm assuming these are the ones you're referring to)

my 4 Main ones are laurie, jocelyn, sam, and rudy !!! (aysel is another one, but he's in a different universe. if that makes sense. i won't be talking about her here)

anways, here's drawings of my ocs for reference !!

so basically. i'm not gonna go TOO deep into lore, but i will do a super quick recap.

laurie (ginger one) was born in canada, had to move to the States just before high school. it's super scary!!! bcs she's all alone and whatnot. BUT! then she meets some new friends!! (sam and rudy [bottom two]) trio hijinks ensue, laurie falls in love with jocelyn, even more hijinks ensue. high school finishes, and they all part ways. laurie and jocelyn go to backupsmore, sam goes to west coast tech, and rudy stays in idaho for college.

laurie and jocelyn then meet ford and fiddleford (who have been there for 2 years already), and sam and rudy do their own thing in their own schools ig.

they all graduate from their separate colleges and go off to do their own things as adults !!!

sam does astrophysics and science and NERD STUFF and becomes PRETTY famous! (she even wrote a few books!!)

rudy does comics for a living, like, drawing and writing them! it's been one of his passions Forever. so!!

and laurie and jocelyn live happily in gravity falls !!

(OOC) Explaining what has been going on with my blogs + Some small info about the projects

Hello everypony! It is i, mod Clown, with just a small update that i will be posting here on Robin's blog since it is the only one that i THINK tumblr hasnt completely cut its reach. I will be also be reblogging it in my other active blogs so everyone can see it and i will be putting it in muns corner too since it kinda is an update since i called it it (?) but anyways!

I wanted to make this post since last time i just announced the shutdown of two of my blogs with no reason given and didn't even explained what would happen with the others and with my ongoing projects, so now i wanted to explain it further + maybe yap a little since i'm just built like that......

I will probably yap a lot in this, so i separated each topic and put it under the cut if any of you guys wanna jump in the most important part :3 soooo if you wanna know the updates, look under this Sunday.

About the Murder Disco essence

Since this is the project i'm doing in this blog, i decided to talk about it first. I have been planning this essence since the start of June, and, although i have all the characters chosen and each of their roles and order of deaths planned, i haven't been able to do a lot for it, even if i'm currently on vacation. I want to apologize about it to all the muns who have given me their respective muses to participate in it, i have simply been feeling quite desmotivated to make any art and i was also not. Liking the designs i was making.

But i have picked it up back some days ago! And currently i have 7 designs already finished + they have been drawn on the main essence poster! I will try my best now to finish it all before August ends! Again, i want to apologize for the time it is taking, but i promise i am working on it again. (Like just look at how much time ive spent on the essence poster.....)

Anyways i promise i haven't forgot about ir nor abandoned the project! I thank you all for your patience!!!!

Currently, i have 7/12 skins made, and i have already plans for most of them, i just need to get with actually drawing them! So i will be focusing on doing so now! 🙏

So just to put all the info in the same post, i will also be talking about both blogs. I made a post some weeks ago about these blogs being shutdown, but didn't gave any info about it.

What i will be actually doing is just. Moving them to a new blog. I should have said it like that when i first made the posts but when i made it i was a bit tired, so i apologize for that. But yeah, i will be moving both Angeline and Pietro to a new blog, as i will be putting all the Paganini siblings together. I just think that they have a lot of lore and it is a bit of a waste to just show it in small events i do in Angie's blog, so yeah!

Alongside that, the Phantom of the Opera essence i made for Angeline will still be going! It will only be posted in this new blog i'm currently working on. When it will be released?...I'm gonna be honest, i don't know. I think it is pretty clear that i am very bad with dates, but i will be trying to post it asap!

Anyways if any of you guys have read this entire yap session, thank you very much! I will try not dissappearing suddenly again, and while were at it i also want to thank yall for the support you have been giving me.

My goodness! So many humans! Would have done 150 instead, but I didn't pay attention then so take this as a late 150 special. Or I guess just a 169 special since heehee, funny number. Either that or I just draw a goofy doodle and call it a day. I kinda did do that for the 300 post special but also that isn't the same as the humans which is probably why I wanna do smth that isn't just a doodle if that makes sense. Also, I'm just still like, new to this and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing half the time! Maybe I'll do a QNA at some point but that's more just be throwing that out. Prob another time or something. Not sure  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  Leaning towards a no for a QNA But, anyway, main offer, ask an ask if one wants too! Can be like, Naegami based or, Naegiri, or Togiri. HAPPY NEW YEAR'S GAMERS!!

(for someone who sorta joined in mid-late August of this year, I think this year was pretty eventful!)

A recap I guess?

I mainly joined for the sake of just posting/ (throwing at the internet) a chunk of my SMG4 fixation (MAINLY SHROOMKITTY AKA SHROOMY X KAREN). To which I think did went pretty okay. But then I sorta remembered that this blog can be for more than just one fixation and alongside that, got introduced to some new fandoms in the process! I think as that happened I kinda had burnt myself out pumping SMG4 art out for the time being.

(SMG4tober possibly also adding to this oops. I still wanna post SMG4-related stuff, I just think it's gonna be a while till I can get myself back into that unfortunately [Kinda like Undertale, which I'm still surprised I was able to get myself to make that post 's art to begin with. So it's possible, I just need to slowly try back at it.])

This (latter half of the) year has been pretty grand, and meeting all my mutuals through Tumblr has been exciting (and a tad terrifying I mean come on, I look up to you guys! and then y'all follow me back??? HUH???). Thank you all for making this first year on Tumblr so much fun! :3

Well I got lots of wishes for next year. mainly about this blog. Mainly wishes of posting more fanart and original stuff here.

Gonna stop this idea right here. No I'm not gonna start a big OC comic thing (not yet anyway, too soon for my tiny hands.) Any New Year's Resolutions?

My "New Year's Resolution" is probably going to be finally sitting down and scaling my plans to make myself a Shroomy Plush. Not just a Shroomy Plush, but one that can switch between Shroomy and Anti-Shroomy. Like those octopus plushies than flip inside out for two octopus designs.

These lil' critters! But as a Shroomy Plush! Since my dumb of rear-end has never done the art of plushie making before, this is gonna be a whole ordeal. But it will SO BE WORTH IT FOR THE SHROOMY PLUSH. He will sit next to my Mr. Puzzles Plush and they will be good friends :3

Two goobers meeting in early middle school only over the fact Alexi was asking him for help on work and after that he kept bothering him. Not even for help, asking random questions, and trying to know him better.

Alexi having Mack over for a movie night, and he's either forcing him to watch some sad rom-com or all of The Thing movies and explaining the comics and lore, pointing out small details and references in or related to The Thing (its his favorite horror series? I think it counts as a series right)

Like after the events of ud (saying everyone lives ending), they're both screwed up, but Mack had suffered from tbi (traumatic brain injury). Alexi is also suffering, obviously. Half his face is still messed up, his arm and hand are, but he doesn't have severe head injury (facial yeah, but erm... not head or brain, yknow)

Alexi isn't making any efforts to talk to anyone else (the group, not REALLY his family except if it's his brother, which is unlikely), but he's talking to Mack. Only talking to Mack, even if they're both struggling and trying to recover, he's literally worried sick about him and not metaphorically (because his anxiety is increased tenfold now)

Depending on how severe the tbi is, Mack COULD have memory issues with recalling what went on that night and everything that happened (long-term memory loss, he'd also struggle to remember how to do this or that and what this is etc). So Alexi is just dumbfounded.

Alexi can remember everything perfectly fine, and he just can't grasp that the person closest to him can't?? He can't go to Mack for any questions on what happened, how he got injured (at least for the injuries he wasn't present for, or Mack already told him after) and he can't go to him for any reassurance and comfort.

He's just in shock because he is ABSOLUTELY NOT going to confide in someone else, like family or a friend, because you have to be so insanely close to this guy for him to trust you to that extent.

So, over the years, he's sticking with Mack since he still remembers him, but not completely. He can't recall facts about him or moments that happened between them, and its not completely Mack.

ANYWAYS, IM GONNA LEAVE THAT THERE BC I DONT WANNA YAP ABOUT SAD SHIT ALL IN THIS POST

More art giggles

Alexi was almost a theater kid, but he was too scared to because of his anxiety, but he still really wanted to try singing (he wasn't exactly too big on the dancing portion). He only did a few times at his house in his room, but his mom caught on and offered to get him a personal vocal coach (or trainer, idk the exact title).

So he CAN sing somewhat, but it's been a bit since he has, and he definitely isn't telling that to just anyone. Mack only found this out when they jokingly had a karaoke night, and Alexi didn't suck at singing

Also, if anybody is confused about why he has red hair, sometimes it's because his natural hair color is red, but he dyes it black. His older brother has black hair, and he was really close with him, and so around the start of high school, he started to dye it a bit to try it, and eventually he just ended up doing it completely and making it a routine.

Mack helps him dye it sometimes, but that's not often since he isn't the super best at it..... helps with getting Alexi what he needs mainly

And so another year of art comes to a close (unless I really wanna make something after seeing sonic 3). I'd wait till new years but every artist is doing their art summary now so what the heck. For everyone who saw all of the drawings I made, thank you very much!!

I definitely made less than I wanted to this year. I am very slow with producing art, and there were periods where months went by and I just didn't produce anything. In fairness I did work pretty hard creatively outside of art, so I'm not too mad. I definitely rectified that during the last quarter of the year, I mean 4 pieces of art was produced in a month and a half! And to top it off, I think the quality of what I managed to achieve was fantastic! Some of these are my favorite pieces I've ever done, filled with so much experimentation and complexity than what I was able to do last year. Legit, even if my style remains the same, I'll look at last years art summary and not even believe I'm the same artist (not that their bad, I'm just happy I'm progressing!)

I also managed to do more time sensitive stuff!! Kirby's Anniversary, Cove's Birthday art and the Christmas art were all made with a deadline in mind and I'm glad I managed to complete those on time. It's stuff that I always wanted to do with art coming flooding in based of my interests, and I'm happy I got to contribute to that myself. I do think I was stressed myself out too much though, especially in the case of the Christmas art since it came right after me making my oc concept art, so I was crunching like crazy. I am proud of it though! As with a lot of other art I made this year, I got to producing some art concepts I wanted to do for a long while, like the cynonari art and "dream" art. In terms of next year, yeah I definitely wanna make art a bigger part of my life. I'm winding down on college so I'm hoping to produce more. I don't really know what to make though as my skills are still fairly limited. I do think one thing I definitely am gonna try to work on are backgrounds. I feel like that's the one thing that's consistently missing from a lot of drawings but don't wanna commit to. I also branch out and do more community stuff. I tend stick to myself cause I'm not social in general and also cause I tend to think my art is alot worse than others. But this year I'm hoping to fix that, so expect to see me in a community event or art fight (maybe)! Mutuals in general I'll also be looking for in 2025 as well. And of course theres other stuff I'm working on outside of art that I'm hoping to showcase eventually!! Once again, for those who have seen and liked any of the pieces that I made during 2024, thank you very much!! Heres hoping I can make 2025 a gigantic leap forward for me!

i had such a fun day today, got some awesome new clothes at a queer clothes swap and hung out with some lovely friends afterwards. but now im home and feeling down. not about anything cus of today. honestly about what someone asked a few days ago. a new friend asked, paraphrasing, "what do you do?" like, what do i occupy my time with. and of course i answered the usual oh i do this and that and sometimes this. but i had to explain that, i don't really have a thing. like a hobby. or a thing where i devote time and energy to. where i hone a skill or gain more and more knowledge about a subject. and that just feels bad for some reason. i was really embarrassed to admit that to them. that i'm not cleo, the somethinger. im just a person, nothing that interesting about them. i have personality traits and experiences and stuff, but i dont have a thing. the people i look up to the most have things. some of them are into arts like drawing or acting, or do like academic stuff from studying awesome stuff at uni to just researching cool stuff in spare time. one of my friends even poledances and another organises sooo many wonderful community events! they're so incredible. but i don't have anything noteworthy about me. and i don't even really know if that's necessarily a bad thing. maybe there's just some imaginary capitalism-borne societal pressure to sink time and money into some irrelevant pasttime. maybe my idea of adulthood and womanhood is skewed and puts too much emphasis on having a unique quirky trait. maybe im just scared people will eventually get bored of 'just' me. i don't know. but it doesn't feel good. i really want to find something to be my thing. to get a hobby, properly. but i have no idea what it could be. back in the day when people would ask me "what do you wanna do when you're older" or something, i would pretty indifferently say "idk lol", i didn't really care i didn't have a thing. i was a grey blob back then so it wasn't inconspicuous. but now that i feel myself actualising into a real person, this feels more and more like an empty void. i'll probably just happenstance into a new thing one day without even realising it, that's how life goes. i won't wish one into reality by wanting it hard enough. but yeah. just, right now, i'm feeling bad about this

Nobody truly gets it like you do

I vividly remember the first time I was self conscious about my body.

I was in middle school. I was down a gravel road with woods on one side and my neighbor's house on the other. My mom was with me. We were going to go see my grandpa who lived a five minute walk from my house.

My mom pointed at me out of nowhere, and said I had a "muffin top". My stomach bulged out over the top of my jeans. I didn't know why she felt the need to point that out, or comment on my body, but suddenly I wanted to hide my stomach and my shirt wasn't long enough to do it.

Up until she moved out west, which was when I went off to college, my mom had been fat. That was just a simple fact. She was strict in some ways and became one of my best friends when I was in high school. She had a silly and adorable laugh, and a white streak in her hair from a stressful event that I won't get into. She had a dark sense of humor at times and was as sarcastic as they came. She was beautiful. She was fat.

I vividly remember how my brother and all of his friends would say the most vile things about her because of her fatness, and how that drilled into me that the world was cruel about weight. It still upsets me, because my mom wasn't perfect but she deserved so much better than that.

There's some post or blog or something, whatever, that I read once that said "Your first thought is what you were taught, and your second thought is how you actually feel" - something along those lines. And how your ingrained, learned thought can be corrected if you do it enough. I had to correct myself for Years after that because my first thoughts were not kind. I never said anything out loud and I hated that my thoughts could be so cruel, and I fought to be kinder to myself and others over their looks.

I weigh more now than I ever have, and I can love myself not only because of my own efforts but because there are others out there who love fat people. Because there are fat people out there who fight against the stigmas and the cruelty. Because there are people who create art and write stories of fat people, and because there are people who love art and stories about them too.

At the end of the day, it's art and stories that are so human and real to me. It's making a point to the cruel people who said nasty things about my mother. It's the child in me arguing back that yeah, I have a muffin top, and I'm fucking adorable. And it's me telling my brother to shut his damn mouth because I was too much of a coward to say it back then.
