showing people kindness is a treat and delight even just for the joy it brings people
but boy howdy does it make me feel something when they do something nice in return
#there was this lovely lady a few weeks ago who came into the store on her birthday#she was telling me how she didnt have a family anymore and didnt really have friends so she hadnt celebrated in years#so yknow i decided to give her a few extra things for free! like. admittedly its sort of my job. third place and all that.#and she was so sweet about it. she kept holding my hands and learned my name and promised she'd come back to see me#and i wasnt working today but she apparently came in and dropped off fudge and pumpkin bread for me? and my coworker is bringing it over#and i just. i wanna cry a little bit
