me when tf2 takes place during the sixties so i can headcanon medic as being 55~ish and therefore having met Magnus Hirschfeld, the gay jew who pioneered sex-change surgeries and studies about gender and sex

#tf2 #when i first joined the tf2 fandom i was like 'oh welp this guy is a doctor whose medical license was revoked #'cuz he does weird experiments on people and he's crazy #and i thought to myself 'the devs wanted to code him as a nazi?'#i 100% believed medic was supposed to represent one of those doctors that tortured people in concentration camps #but then i was exposed to tumblr's view of him #and now i see that he's obviously a gay jew himself and he's not in germany cuz his family flew in the us #that makes a lot of sense if you think about it #and he wouldnt be the only german gay jewish doctor who did experimental surgeries #cmon he put uteruses in men. the medic has to have met hirschfeld at some point
