5 must-haves items for newborns
Tumblr media
Shopping for babies is an overwhelming activity! It is really awesome surely when you have unlimited budget and space in your home, but for most of us that’s not the case.
Based on my 3 months experience taking care of our little bub, here are my must have items for newborns:
1. Sleep suits with zip
Being sleep deprived, the one thing you want is to change difficult to wear complicated stylish clothes all the time all day. Bonds sleep suits are definitely my favorite as it is comfortable for the lil bub and they have built-in mittens!
2. Body suits and singlets
Our favorite ones include from Bonds, Target and BigW (their baby/kids brand Dymples is really good)
3. Cloth nappies.
No, not for nappy purposes - but in fact, for everything else! We bought 2 pack of cloth nappies and they have been the most items we use everyday - we use it for burping, to cover nursing pillows, to cover changing table. We have them everywhere around the house. Buy great packs from either Target or Kmart.
Here are some cloth nappies that I was referring to:
- Dribots Terry Towelling nappies
- Cotton Terry Nappies
4. Play gym
This has been a lifesaver for us in the morning! Our little bub loves playing in his playmat so we usually let him play there while we slurp our breakfast! Get a playmat with easy-to-clean material, contrast colors and variety of hanging toys. He started playing with his play gym when he’s about 2 months old so no need to rush to buy one. We bought this online from Baby Bunting.
5. Muslin wraps
Get combination of both high quality (light, comfortable material) and affordable (or second-hand) ones. The high quality ones are great for sleeping and the others are great for daily activities (covering the sun, to be put on the rug etc.)
