Top 5 Favorite Monkey D Luffy Moments?
Hiya anon, sorry this took so so long but had to sit down and think a lot because I love too many moments with Luffy and it was way too hard to decide “only” 5 of them but well this post would last for forever if I could list all of them so better this way.  The answer turned out to be a bit long but here are my favorite Monkey D. Luffy moments, under the cut :) !

5. “Doctor…”
When Luffy and Sanji were on their way to bring sick Nami to doctor the journey was anything but easy. First the Lapins attack, then they face a huge avalanche where Sanji almost dies because of his chivalry and later Wapol tries to mess everything up with his ambush. What made this all even harder was that Luffy has to take care that he doesn’t receive hits because earlier Sanji told him that getting a hit would have a bad, even lethal impact on Nami who was already fighting for her life. When facing Wapol Luffy was all alone because Sanji was also out of the game but somehow Luffy survives from Wapol and gets the chance to  move forward !   Despite all the troubles and freezing weather that guy carried 2 people with him, climbed a huge mountain with bare hands while wearing only a sleeveless vest and shorts. I think that even he aknowledged how crazy it all was but he did not want to give up at any point because the lifes of his two nakamas lied on his shoulders and he could have never forgive himself if something happened to either of them. I admire his determination so much and that’s definitely something that saved their lifes in Drum Kingdom (before they reached the top and Chopper and Kureha met them).

4. “I still have my friends!”
Won’t deny that Ace’s death was the most horrifying moment that could happen to Luffy but I think what was at least as sad as the moment Ace died in his hand was when he had to handle the loss of Ace again. Seeing his brother pierced was hard for him and when that moment war brought back into his mind again and again I think this is where Luffy whom we all consider the most optimistic and cheerful character on the universe hits the rock bottom and faces his lowest point. He might’ve not only rage and accuse himself for letting Ace die but also because of what happened earlier in Sabaody where Kuma outnumbered Straw Hats without problems and Luffy as their captain felt tha he failed to keep them safe.
Linked to this, one of my all time favorite moments is when Jinbe tells Luffy to not to mourn what he has lost and focus on what he has and Luffy’s reply is what simply breaks my fangirl heart in pieces every single time I return to that chapter. That very moment and expression he has when he starts to count the reasons and he figures out everything, that there are 8 reasons to not to give up: Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin. I don’t know how to explain it better but I think it’s very empowering moment for Luffy to realize that no matter how hopeless it seems from the first hand, the game really isn’t over until proven wrong and this is what motivates him to train and become stronger. At that moment he won himself.

3. “This room that she never wanted to be in.. I can’t allow it to exsist“From Arlong Park arc maybe the most rememberable and hyped moment is when Luffy gave his beloved straw hat to Nami who had had a breakdown when she realized that all of her effort went down to drain thanks to Arlong who plotted behind her back. Giving a treasure Luffy holds dear and getting prepared for to fight against the fishmen was indeed a impressive moment full of symbolism about trust and how nakamas stand by your side no matter what and so on.
However I think there is one moment that is even more important in Arlong arc and also in general. In my opinion one of the most powerful moments of One Piece is when during the fight against Arlong Luffy decided to wreck Nami’s working room and people outside including rest of the Straw Hats, villagers and fishmen witnessed how furnitures were flying and most of them didn’t know why but this made Nami burst into tears.  There is a simple reason why this moment is so powerful and explains why seeing the falling objects hit Nami right in the feels and it’s because she could follow from the frontline with her very own eyes how the hellish prison where she was stuck for 8 year was being destroyed piece by piece. For Nami this was the moment when she finally got the freedom which she had been looking for so long.

2. “SAY YOU WANNA LIVE !”The beginning of the Water 7 arc was nothing but troubles for Straw Hats, Usopp got violently beaten and on top of that the crew started to fall apart due the argument over Merry and Robin’s disappearence. Then they even wereframed as the shooters of Iceburg and they were forced to keep the low profile to avoid further troubles. They were very unsure about everything but when they find out that Robin did it all to save her nakamas lives Luffy knew what to do next, save her at all costs.
When they finally met her again Robin tried to push them away telling that she doesn’t deserve to live but Luffy had already made his desicion. That moment when Luffy told Sogeking to burn that flag is not only pure epicness but that also meant a lot for Robin who finally got the allowance to just exsist whereas she has ran and hide her whole life before. Just like in Nami’s case in Arlong Park this very moment freed Robin from the chains of her past and after the fight Robin finally can smile and she doesn’t have to be afraid of neglection anymore because she knows she has found a loving family.
Enies Lobby in general was really full of character developements and since Usopp was there disguised as Sogeking happenings in Enies Lobby also brought the Straw Hat Pirates back together and in the end all the efforts put on saving one nakama brought them closer together.

1. “I won’t be budging from this spot until you come back!!”
Although the beginning of the whole Island arc is nothing but tears and feels I think this must be one of the saddest yet greatest moments ever happened in One Piece. I opened this scene more up in my personal blog awhile ago and to sum up a bit those thougts, I think it’s amazing that a gluttonous guy with a bottomless stomach decides declare a hunger strike.
People who criticize Luffy as a overly idiotic character fail to see that he is much more smarter than what he appears to be and one thing why he wins his enemies are because they always underestimate Luffy because they see him as a rubber brained twat. The fight against Sanji was another proof that Luffy is very well aware about his nakamas and knows which rope to pull. He never fought physically back because he knew from their past that it wouldn’t help because his cook is very stubborn so he went verbally against him. He knew that Sanji’s comments made no sense and how much Sanji values cooking and how that is his everything so he decides to go on hunger strike and the most impressive thing is that he kept that promise until they met again. Yes, he can be serious if he just wants and if he has decided something, he will do it.
