now ive finished the series im actually going to go on record and say im pretty sure if you enjoyed the owl house or amphibia you'll like jentry chau vs the underworld (its on netflix). it starts a little slow with high school shit but it picks up FAST and gets crazy. honestly felt like a lot more than one season of content in 13 half hour episodes. also its just fucking gorgeous and the music is amazing. and some of the characters suck morally in a way stuff in its bracket can be afraid to do which is fun
#words and things#jentry chau#ill reiterate it's not gay (centered) tho there are queer characters#and there is definitely body horror from the demons and possession but its cartoony due to. being a cartoon#also full disclosure i only watched like eight episodes of TOH and none of amiphib but i live with people who watched them lol#so i know what their overall arc and vibe was and saw some of it in passing#also clearly i wasnt that into either show & i still liked this i just think if you Did like those shows it's really likely youll like this#this show has exactly 0 filler episodes something is happening at all times lmao#the filler stuff being unappealing to me in TOH and SU is what made me drop off those shows#dont get me wrong there *is* a time and place for filler but *their* filler just didnt appeal to me personally#even if i liked where it was going overall it just made it easy for me to lose motivation for them yknow#and i think if jentry chau had filler like that it would be the same for me

Binged watched Jentry CHAU vs the underworld
And while I rlly like it, it follows the same issue I have of
Shows being shortened out
Like I feel like 13 episode just kept slapping me in the face with the story and it's plot because it kept happening WAY TOO FAST in my opinion
Like I WANT FKN FILLER MAN
IDC what any bitches say Abt filler but it would be nice to see in-between episode where it can delve into other parts of the world
Like how am I supposed to really believe Stella and jentry are friends now
The intro made me think we'd have more episodes of their relationship but just cuz she had an understanding towards jentry struggle and just have a montage of them doing stuff together... THAT'S IT?
Like it's not even filler but to be able to see more episode where jentry gets to have an episode with other characters to flesh out their relationship would make things feel more meaningful
Barely an episode of them centered it's just Abt moving the plot forward
