empanada is a word that brings nothing to my mind
#cos i used to not know what they were and i got them confused with enchiladas#and i still dont get enchiladas ive never had non gringo enchiladas i think or just not as much#so i think of it as some vague american monstrosity#and empanadilla is the word pr uses for you know. That thing#so like what is an empanada really#i dont even think of it as a synonym just.. wrong empanadillas#its weird bc i can be like oh yeah. patacones are tostones. maduros are amarillos#those are synonyms. but not empanada...
