I wonder did you veer read or watched Harry Potter? If so (beside the burning carbrash that's jkr owling) what's your opinion on it? (random question but my Lil sis demanded to watch Harry Potter with me xD)

I have read and watched it all, yeah! I used to be a big fan, you know the hp-pjo-cosmere pipeline. I have some nostalgia for it, and personally I don't feel the need to tell off fans (especially trans ones) for making it their own or pretend that the work was "always bad all along we should have known" like yep there was parts that were antisemitic or transphobic, but not in such a way that Jk was destined to end up all terfy, she did that all on her own. (But I also get former fans wanting nothing to do with it, or people who never want to get into it now) I'm glad we're talking about those elements! I'm not glad how some of it becomes, uh, like that one post that claimed all goblin folklore ever was antisemitic bc jkr's was, and therefore it is a slur to say "goblincore", when in truth basically every part of all European folklore has antisemitic and not antisemitic versions.

Anyway, the audiobooks were my family's go to road trip source for some years, though personally I haven't reread or listened in a while bc of all the garbage fire. Obviously cursed child sucked. I never saw fantastic beasts but the thing I heard about the second one was 😬 I think there's still a lot of potential in the world building though, and if you can have a Cthulhu au then you can have your Hogwarts au. I don't really have any HP fic recs that I remember EXCEPT ok there's this one series that's really good that's like about Cho and other characters that deserved better than their author that one sticks out but I don't remember the the name
