Beach Daddy III. I can do it with a broken heart
Rich daddy!Joel x F!reader
Series Masterlist ⢠Masterlist
Wordcount: 12,532
Summary: After a day of emotional turmoil, you find solace in a chance encounter with Joel, who invites you to his secret deck.
Warnings: 18+, Joel and reader get closer, Todd does fuckboy things, reader really goes through it in this one, it's like a lil baby soap opera up in here for everyone.
Notes: Welcome, welcome, dear friends. Sorry this is so long. I never know where to end the chapters đ so I just add more. Your comments, asks, and reblogs are always so welcome! I appreciate everyone who's in this with me.
You walk out of Amorebelle with light pink clothing bags weighing down each arm, wearing a new outfit. You can't remember a time when you've gotten this many new clothes at once. You also find it hard to wrap your head around the fact that these clothes cost more than you make in an entire year.
The saleswomen Jane and McKenzie won't let you look at the price tags, but as they're ringing up your picks, you catch a glimpse of the total on the computer screen. You can't help but wonder how you'll ever be able to pay Joel back for this shopping trip.Â
You also can't help but wonder how often he does this for women.
Jane, who's worked at the shop the longest, had recognized him when you walked in the door. You don't have time to contemplate this because you notice a maid you recognize from the yacht. She makes her way to you and starts relieving you of your bags. You make sure to keep the bag with your dress and shoes for the evening.
"Miss, I was told to take these to your room on the ship while you are at your appointment," the maid tells you.
"What appointment?" you ask her, confused.
"You have an appointment at the salon three stores up.â
"Did Joel set this up for me?" you ask, feeling even more surprised.
"Yes, ma'am," the maid says with a smile.
You're glad that the boutique you've been shopping in has a shower where you're able to rinse off before this appointment. They must be used to sandy beachgoers coming in right before a night out.
You make your way up the street and stop at the salon with floor-to-ceiling glass windows. From the outside, you can see the row of chairs, each in front of its own mirror.
You walk in, and the man at the front desk assures you that you do, in fact, have an appointment, full hair, and makeup, which is all prepaid.
The receptionist walks you back to your stylist, an attractive man whose hair color matches yours. "What do you have in mind today, sweetheart," your stylist asks you.
"I'm honestly not sure. Can I leave it up to you?" you ask.
"That's my favorite request," he says as he runs his fingers through your hair. "Your natural coloring is gorgeous, obviously, I am not going to touch that. So, I'm thinking a quick trim and a blowout."
He has your hair and makeup done within an hour, and you barely recognize yourself in the mirror. You're amazed that your hair is perfectly smooth, with not a single strand of frizz to be found. You gently run your fingers through your hair and can't believe how soft it is.
"What do you think?" the stylist asks you. He hands you a small mirror and turns you in the chair so you can get a better view of the back of your hair.
"Is this really my hair?" you ask, holding up the smaller mirror.
"Of course, sweetheart. You look amazing," he says with a smile.
"I didn't know I could love my hair this much.â You admit.
"So, go enjoy it!" he says with a huge smile.
"I will. I love it. Thank you so much," you say enthusiastically.
You walk out of the salon's front door in your midnight blue silk dress with shining hair, and you feel amazing. For the first time since the breakup, you feel like you can do a whole lot better than Todd.
"All I can say is wow," says Joel. He's been waiting for you outside of the salon.
"I hardly recognize myself," you say with a laugh.
"I wasn't commenting on the dress or your hair. I was impressed by your confidence. It looks good on you darlin," Joel says, looking you up and down unabashedly.
You feel your cheeks get hot. You don't understand how Joel always says exactly what you need to hear.
"But, I do have to admit I was right about that dress; it does look amazing on you," Joel says with a wink.
"I don't know how to thank youâ" but Joel cuts you off before you can finish thanking him.
"Please, you don't need to finish what you were about to say. You deserved it. Simple as that."
"Okay," you say with a smile. "Well, then I just want you to know that today has been the best day I have had in a long time." You like that Joel isn't the kind of man who gives gifts because he likes the praise that follows.
"The restaurant is just a few blocks over. I can call for a ride," he says, pulling out his phone.
"Yeah, we could get a ride over," you say and grab his phone. "But, it's such a beautiful night; why don't we walk?" It is a beautiful night, but if you're being honest with yourself, you want to walk to soak up as much time alone with Joel as you can.
Joel smiles and offers you his arm. You notice his new suit jacket goes perfectly with your new dress. You bite your lip to keep yourself from asking if he picked it on purpose, but you secretly hope he had.
"This town is beautiful; I'm surprised that it isn't busier," you say, looking up at the bistro lights strung across the streets in a zig-zag pattern. The light is just barely fading, and the cool breeze catches the slit in your dress, making the end lightly flutter around your ankles as you walk.
"It is a well-kept secret," Joel says.
"For the rich and famous?" you ask.
"Well, kinda, but the locals who live here are what make this place so amazing. The restaurant weâre headed to has some of the best food I've ever eaten. But the chef is just a local man who perfected his art form. Never went to culinary school; just cooked because he loved it."
"How do you know all that about him?" you ask.
"My family has vacationed here for as long as I can remember. When I got tired of listening to my parents argue, I would go exploring the island. Iâve gotten to know a lot of the locals over the years," he explains.
You walk up to a building with a large illuminated sign reading The Coastal Hibiscus. The restaurant has a large deck area with a perfect view of the ocean. As you make your way up the front steps, you drop your hand from Joel's arm, not wanting Sarah to get the wrong idea.
You arrive at the restaurant last, finding the entire party already seated. As you enter, the conversation slows, and Todd's gaze locks onto you, a sense of satisfaction washing over you from the look on his face.
Only two seats remain, so you sit between Alison and Hudson. Joel takes a seat directly across from you, next to his daughter.
"I love that dress on you, by the way." Alison says with a little smile.
"Thanks," you reply as the waiter distributes menus.
"Where did you take off to? I haven't seen you since you went with Sarah's dad to find the dolphins," Alison asks.
"Oh, we never found them, so we just drove around for a long time looking for them," you lie, staring intently at the menu. You don't want to share the details of the intimate day you spent with Joel.
"That's too bad," Alison says, joining the group's conversation about where everyone plans to 'winter' that year.
You continue to look at your menu, overwhelmed by the number of choices. Finally, you look up to see Joel staring at you. You silently mouth 'What should I get?' across the table.
He smiles at you and mouths back 'The lobster.'
When the food arrives, you're grateful for his suggestion. His choice is amazing; the lobster is cooked so well that it feels like it melts in your mouth.
You sit peacefully sipping a glass of wine and listening to the group's conversation, stealing glances at Joel. The waiter brings around dessert menus, and you order a slice of cheesecake, one of your favorites.
A few minutes later, the waiter sets a piece of cheesecake in front of you, and placed delicately in the whipped cream is a stunning cushion cut diamond engagement ring. Your breath catches in your throat, and your heart stops. As you try to make sense of what's happening, you hear Todd whisper angrily to the waiter, "No, not her!"
No one seems to notice the mix-up, and a few seconds later, the engagement ring cheesecake is placed in front of Sarah instead. Her small squeak alerts the rest of the table to what's going on.
"Sarah, will you make me the luckiest man in the world? Will you marry me," Todd says, down on one knee next to Sarah.
"Of course, I will." Sarah immediately answers. She jumps up and hugs Todd, all the while letting out ear-piercing squeals.
You look across the table and see Joel's eyes locked on you. Did he see them place the ring in front of you and your reaction to it?Â
The restaurant feels like it's closing in around you. You have to get out. You quietly slide your chair away from the table, leaving your ringless cheesecake untouched, and walk out into the open air. You start walking toward the ocean; the water has turned from a vibrant blue to an ominous black. The glassy surface reflects the light of the moon, which sits alone in the sea of darkness.Â
You continue walking, your feet aching in the heels, but to your relief, you recognize the yacht docked in a nearby marina. The crew must have sailed over to this marina to drop off the rest of the group while Joel and you were in the shops. So you make your way towards it. However, even before you reach the docks, the tears have already started falling down your face. You wipe them away quickly, not wanting to stain your new dress. The sound of footsteps behind you has you hurrying to the yacht. Whoever is following you, you do not want to speak to themânot now.
Not even if it's Joel.
â
"Todd, I'm so glad we finally get to spend some time together. It seems like I barely get to see you anymore. I'm so sorry I've been so busy," you said, smiling at your fantastic boyfriend. You really missed him, but with graduation so close, you had to put all of your efforts into studying.
"I'm glad you finally found some time for me," Todd said in a flat tone. You guessed you deserved that, but the comment still stung.
"Where do you want to go eat? I heard thereâs a great new sushi place just a few blocks over," you said, trying to switch the mood to a more positive one.
"Yeah, that works," Todd muttered as he pulled out his phone to send a text.
You started walking over, but you couldn't help but feel like something was off, and you relaxed as Todd's fingers locked with yours.
"So, howâs work going?" you asked. Todd had graduated with his Bachelor's degree the year before and started working for his dad's financial firm after that.
"It's been great. You would not believe some of the people I help with their investments. Every single one of them was a millionaire before they were thirty. That is going to be me; just you wait."
"I know you will be, Todd," you said as the hostess showed you to your table. "If anyone can make it happen, you will."
"It wouldn't hurt to have a rich wife. Then, we'd become millionaires together," Todd said and smiled at you. He had always been so proud of the fact that you were working towards being a lawyer. You were so relieved that he recognized your time studying was for your future together.
The waiter walked over to your table and asked if you were ready to order. Todd ordered multiple plates of sushi, and then the waiter turned to you.
"I'll have an order of the California rolls and a water," you handed the menu back to the waiter and looked up to see Todd with a strange expression on his face.
"California rolls?" Todd asked as the waiter walked away.
"It's the best deal on the menu. I'm saving for my books. I don't know if Iâll be able to qualify for another loan," you said, slightly defensive. You knew Todd hated how cheap you were, but you had to be if you were going to be able to afford to put yourself through school. You knew he didn't understand; his dad paid for his education.
Todd pulled out his phone again and sent another text. You tried not to let it bother you; it was probably something for work.
You spent the rest of dinner talking about the different investments Todd was making on others' behalf and how one of his clients had just purchased their first private island.
"I'm going to run to the restroom before we head out," Todd said and got up, not realizing he had left his phone sitting face up on the table.
As soon as he walked away, his screen lit up with a text message. All you could see from where you sat was the contact name, 'Her.' Your heart sank.
The screen went black, and you took a deep breath. Todd walked back from the restroom, smiling at you.
"You ready to go?" he asked you as he made it to your table.
"Absolutely."
"Why don't we catch a movie?" Todd asked, grabbing your hand again as you walked out of the restaurant.
"Sure. What do you want to go see?â
â
You slam the door of your room and rest your back against it, catching your breath. You had to get away from whoever was following you out of the restaurant. You can't face anyone after witnessing Todd's engagement to someone else. You take a few minutes to catch your breath, and when a soft knock on the door vibrates your back, you ignore it. The person doesn't knock again.
Your dress clings to your sweaty body, and you want nothing more than to take it off. You slip off the midnight blue silk gown and drape it over the chair in front of the vanity. Noticing the pink garment bags already hung neatly in your closet, you secretly wish that you fit in this world, this world of money. But you know deep down that you don't.
You walk past all of the new clothes and throw back on your usual attire of shorts and a T-shirt; you can't get comfortable in the fancy clothes. You make your way over to your bed and throw yourself on the comforter. Burying your face in the pillow and let the tears come. You cry until your eyes burn. You sit up in bed and wonder where everything went wrong with Todd and you. You had truly been in love with him. You had planned a future together, and even though he never spoke directly of marrying you, you always assumed it would happen one day. So when the waiter placed his engagement ring in front of you perched on a pillow of whipped cream, it hurt even more.
Your roommate had been suspicious of Todd cheating on you for months before you read that text. You went on pretending your relationship was stable, even though deep down, you suspected him, too, especially after the incident at the sushi restaurant.
You didn't confront him about the text until weeks later. He denied everything at first, saying it was his father's receptionist. She was a bitter older woman who was not the kind of woman you wanted to cross. He put the receptionist in his phone as 'her' as a joke.
You knew he was lying, but you were okay to keep on pretending. That was until you caught him texting 'her' again, right in front of you. Then, you exploded, and you got into your worst fight. He finally came clean that it was a woman he met at your birthday party.Â
He swore he wasn't cheating and that she was just a friend. You promised that you would work it out even if he was cheating on you, but he wasn't interested in that. He was no longer interested in you. He broke up with you the very next day.
With the memories replaying in your mind, you jump out of bed and run to the balcony. You breathe in quick gasps of the cold sea air. You just realized that you had invited Sarah to your birthday party. Todd had met her there, and they had been in contact ever since. Sarah told you that she'd been dating Todd for four months, but your birthday party was eight months ago. So Todd had been pursuing Sarah for eight months while he was still pretending to be faithful to you.
'It wouldn't hurt to have a rich wife; then we'd become millionaires together.' Todd's words ring through your memories. He hadn't been talking about you becoming a lawyer and the two of you becoming wealthy together. He had been talking about marrying Sarah, an heiress. This had been his plan all along.Â
This night of realization has your head hammering, and you need to calm down. So you walk back into your room, slip on your shoes, and walk out your door. Youâre going to go out to the bar on the deck and make yourself a drink. The lights on the deck are already out, but you quickly realize youâre not there alone.
"Oh, Todd!" Sarah moans.
"You are so damn sexy!"
Two shadowy figures are pressed together in the pool, waves rippling around them, and you quickly realize you have just interrupted Sarah and Todd's after-engagement celebration. You immediately freeze on the spot.
Their moans grow louder, and you try to retreat before either of them sees you. Unfortunately, you don't notice the lounge chair behind you in the dark and topple over it in your rush to get away. You land flat on your back, and all the air is knocked out of your lungs.
"What the hell? Who's there?" Todd's voice yells behind you.
You pray itâs too dark for them to see or recognize you. Then, you start crawling back towards the door, and as soon as you think you are out of sight, you stand up quickly and run. Once you get through the door, you keep running down the hall, the tears stinging your eyes. You are humiliated, heartbroken, and defeated.
You get to a set of stairs and immediately start climbing as many floors as you can. You have to get as far away from the pool as possible. Itâs bad enough knowing Todd is sleeping with Sarah, possibly for eight months, but to see it first hand is too much.
You end up in front of an elevator, and just as you stop to catch your breath, the doors slide open.
"Hey darlin? Are you okay?"
It's Joel. All you want to do is to run into his arms and feel his warmth surround you. But instead, you simply nod and turn to walk away. How could you possibly explain what you just witnessed? Sarah is still his daughter.
"I don't believe you. Somethinâ is wrong. I came to check on you earlier.â
â
Joel hands you a glass of red wine, and you follow him out onto his private deck. The elevator has led up to his room, and Joel, noticing your state, invites you up.
You lean over the railing and swirl the wine in the glass.
"Do you want to talk about what happened?" Joel asks with a note of concern in his voice.
"Nothing happened; I was just tired," you reply.
"You were so tired that you ran all the way back to the yacht?" Joel asks, clearly not believing you.
You don't say anything and take a small sip of your wine.
"And in the hallway just now? You seemed pretty upset," Joel says.
"I promise, I'm fine, but thank you," you say, trying to muster up a small smile.
Joel does not look convinced, but he lets the topic go. You both stand looking over the ocean for a long time in complete silence. The yacht has left the small island, and so the waves are bubbling lazily behind the propellers.
"When do we make port again?" you ask, finally breaking the silence.
"Tomorrow," Joel replies.
"Iâm gonna miss you, Joel," you say quietly.
"What are you talking about, darlin?" Joel says as his eyebrows knit together in concern.
"I'm going to catch a flight back to New York tomorrow.â
Joel stares at you for a long time after saying that youâll be leaving when you get to port the next day. Or at least you hope you will be. You don't even know where you will be, let alone if there is an airport or a ticket home you can afford.
"I would really hate to see you go, darlin," Joel says with a serious look on his face.
"I think it's for the best," you answer softly.
"The best for you?" he asks. You stay quiet for a long time. Are you deciding what is best for you and/or running from your problems?
"I don't know⌠" you answer truthfully.
You take another small sip of the wine Joel had poured you and watch the liquid as you swirl it around in your glass.
"You know wine always tastes better in the sauna," Joel says, watching you.
You turn to him, "That does sound nice, but Iâm sure the staff who work the spa have already gone to bed."
"Well, good thing the sauna is in my bathroom," he says as the corners of his mouth ease into a smile.
"You have a sauna in your bathroom?" you ask, impressed.
"Of course, so what do you say?"
"I'm not really dressed for a sauna," you gesture down to your shorts and T-shirt.
"I have a robe that you can borrow unless you'd rather go without." Joel winks and starts walking away to grab the robe.
"So what else do you have up here all to yourself?" you ask, liking the distraction from the mess of a night you've been through.
â
You walk through a large sitting room, a bedroom with the biggest bed you've ever seen, and then finally to the bathroom. Joel calling the tub in his bathroom a soaking tub is an understatement; it's more like a small swimming pool sunken in the middle of the floor.
"You can get changed here." Joel leads you into an extravagant walk-in closet, complete with a large vanity table and chaise lounge. He hangs a white cotton robe on a hook next to the door, making it the only garment in the empty closet. You realize Joel's room must include his and her's closets, but Joel has no use for this one.
You undress down to nothing and slip the buttery soft robe over your skin. You could live in this robe. There are definitely some amazing perks to being rich. You walk out of the closet, and Joel is waiting for you in a matching cotton robe.
"See, it's a perfect fit," he says.
"I don't even want to know how much one of these robes costs," you say.Â
Joel laughs a little at your comment. "The sauna is through this door here," Joel says and pushes the door next to him open, holding it for you to enter first.
You don't know what you've been expecting when Joel had said he had a sauna in his bathroom, but the sauna you walk into is more than you could have ever imagined.
Every inch of the room is covered in light wood. The benches look as though they conform perfectly to your body and are accented with white pillows. The steam is warm and envelops you as soon as you walk into the room. However, the most breathtaking part of the sauna is the floor-to-ceiling window. It makes it feel like the sauna is open to the ocean itself, and the dark water reflecting the dim light of the room is extremely romantic.
"How do you ever leave?" you ask after a few speechless seconds.
Joel laughs again and takes a seat in the center of the bench, staring out into the dark water. You sit next to him and realize you might be too close, so you try to scoot away subtly.
"I don't bite, darlin."
You laugh awkwardly but remain close enough to feel the heat of his body next to yours. You close your eyes and try to let go of the evening. You think about watching the dolphins swimming in the cove while Joel sits next to you on the jet ski.
"You look like you're feeling a little better," Joel whispers.
"I am. This is exactly what I needed." You pause for a few seconds and add, "You keep saving me today."
"You've saved me on this trip too. Can I tell you a secret?" he asks, leaning in closer to you.
"Of course," you answer, and your heart starts beating faster.
"The rest of Sarah's friends drive me insane."
"That's your secret?" you bump his shoulder with yours. "Thatâs a really weak secret. They drive me insane too."
"If thatâs not a secret, then tell me a better one," he says.
"What kind of secret?"
"Tell me why youâre leaving tomorrow?" he asks and looks into your eyes.
You pause, considering if you should tell him the truth, but he is getting Todd as a son-in-law. So you choose a different path.
"I can't afford to stay," you say finally. Taking Joel's silence as confusion, you elaborate, "I'm completely broke. I've put all of my money into school. I work as a bartender and live off of my tips and ramen noodles."
"I'm sorry, but I don't understand why that means you need to leave tomorrow," Joel says somberly.
Thatâs a fair point; Sarah and her father have paid for absolutely everything. It isn't costing you anything to stay on this once-in-a-lifetime vacation. You need to come up with a reason to leave before he sees through the holes in your story.
"I have to get back to New York, get ready to move to Cambridge, and find a job there before the semester starts. I only have a few weeks of living costs saved up." This is partly true; you do need to do all of those things, but going back early would actually complicate things for you. You can't move into your new apartment in Cambridge until two weeks before the semester starts. So going back early would just mean you'd sit in your old apartment with nothing to do. Plus, if you went back early, you would have a few more weeks of expenses to take care of, and you already quit your job.
"What if I could help you find a new position in Cambridge?" Joel asks.
"What do you mean?" you ask, surprised.
"I have some connections in Cambridge; if I helped you get a few interviews, would you be able to stay longer?"
You can't find any words to respond. You've been really worried about what you would do for work when you got to Cambridge. You don't know anyone there and planned on spending the two weeks before the semester handing in resumes at different restaurants.
"You would do that for me?" you ask.
"Absolutely. Iâll make some calls in the morning. You don't have to stay, but I would enjoy your company if you did. The Bahamas are beautiful this time of year. I don't want you to miss it."
"Okay, I'll stay," you say quietly. "Thank you, Joel."
You can't believe this man's kindness to you. If it's important to Joel that you stay on the trip, then you will figure out how to deal with Todd and Sarah for a little while longer.
"I'm glad to hear it," he says with a smile.
The sky starts to lighten in the early morning hours, so you stand and tell him, "I should head back down to my own room and get some rest."
"Probably a good idea," he says and follows you out of the sauna.
You go back into the massive closet and change back into your clothes, hanging the robe back on the hook. You walk back out into the main room, and Joel is waiting for you, still in his robe.
"Let me walk you down."
"That's really okay. Youâve done so much for me already," you say.
"How long will you stay?"
"I'm not sure. At least another week." You smile at Joel and walk out the door.
***
Joel shuts the door behind you as you walk down the hall. He's relieved that he convinced you to stay for at least another week, but he knows there's something else that's the real cause for you being so upset tonight.
He knows that you're not part of Sarah's usual friend group, but after talking to you tonight, he's confused about how you're even friends at all. You clearly have big goals and work hard to see them happen. Sarah doesn't have any goals other than becoming an 'influencer.'
The thought of you working at every spare moment to put yourself through school makes his stomach twist at how badly he's spoiled Sarah. You deserve so much better than to be just scraping by. He would do anything he could to help you find something better. Hell, he would have offered to pay for your tuition, too, if he thought you would accept it.
Joel pulls out his phone and sends an email to the connection he has at a law firm in Cambridge. He's done some business with them in the past and figures it would be a much better fit for you than making people drinks. With how much business he's given the firm, he knows he can at least get you an interview.
On his home screen, there's a notification of a phone call from his financial advisor, Alester, that he missed while he was in the sauna with you. Alester never calls at this hour, so he knows something is wrong. Joel calls him back immediately, waiting impatiently to hear his voice on the other end.
âJoel, I am so sorry for the early hour," Alester says.
âNo need to apologize; what's going on?" He asks urgently.
âI am afraid it is not good news.â
âJust tell me, Alester," he says, doing his best not to get impatient with the man. He's worked for Joel for years, and Joel trusts him with his life. There's an infuriatingly long pause on Alester's end. He sighs before he finally responds. âBlaine is back, sir."
***
The sun is streaming through the glass doors of the balcony as you finally open your eyes. Your head is pounding from a lack of sleep and caffeine. You want to order coffee up to your room, but you need to shower too badly to wait. After running all the way to the yacht and then sitting in the sauna with Joel, you are salty with dried sweat. You probably should have showered last night, but, after reaching your room in the early morning hours, you collapsed on the bed and had fallen asleep in your clothes.
You walk into the bathroom, expecting to look like a mess from all the events of the night, your clothes are extremely wrinkled, but you are surprised to see your hair still looks flawless. "I wish I could afford to get a blowout more often," you say to your reflection, pulling on a few strands as you admire the style.
You put your hair up and step into the hot water of the shower, washing off the previous day. You stand under the steaming water until you are getting a little dizzy from the heat. As you stand there, you can't help but think about Joel. He's been so kind to you, and you can't help but wonder if there's a chance he wants more from your relationship than what one would typically expect between a man and a friend of his daughter's. You shake your head. You can't allow yourself to think that way. Joel lives in a world you know nothing about. Not only is he much older than you, he is also Sarah's dad. Besides, he can have any woman he wants. Why would he want you?
Returning your thoughts to reality, you finish rinsing your hair and turn off the water. You wrap a towel around yourself, and make your way back into the bedroom to cool down.
The screen of your phone is illuminated, so you pick it up and lounge back on the bed. You have several notifications from the group chat between you and your roommates, Aubrey and Lin. You know you need to let them know what's going on.
Aubrey: Hey? Are you still alive? We haven't heard from you in days.
Lin: Maybe she finally found herself a rebound, and thatâs why sheâs too busy for us. My guess is a sexy pool boy!
You: Sorry, you two. Signal has been spotty. A sexy pool boy, Lin? Is that your guess or your fantasy?
Lin: I think a sexy pool boy should be everyoneâs fantasy. âPool boy, refresh my drink, and while you are at it, come rub me down with some tanning lotion.â
Aubrey: Lin, youâre the reason I canât let Gianni read our group messages!
Lin: Sorry, we arenât as lucky as you to have an amazing boyfriend who kisses the ground we walk on. Some of us have to use our imaginations.
You: I miss you two so much! I wish you were here with me.
Aubrey: How is everything going? Is the boat as big as we are imagining?
You: Honestly, it is probably bigger than youâre imagining. Itâs not so much a boat as it is a super yacht. The bathroom in my room is as big as our entire apartment, and Iâm just in a guest room. I have my own private balcony! Oh, and yesterday, I got to see a pod of dolphins!
Lin: Dolphins? How cool! I wish I had a rich friend who took me on expensive vacations.
You: Yeah, it sounds good in theory, but in reality, that rich friend was the one sleeping with my boyfriend for months.
Aubrey: Sarah was the one Todd was cheating on you with?! Why didnât you lead with that?
You: Oh, thatâs not even the worst part. Todd is here on the yacht too. We had already left port when I found out, so Iâve been stuck here with him.
Lin: No way! What the hell did that scumbag have to say for himself when he saw you?
You: Well, he pretended not to know who I am, and I went along with it.
Aubrey: Iâm so sorry!
Lin: Why didnât you call him out?
You: I probably should have, but I didnât want to make things awkward. Like I said before, I am literally stuck on a boat with these people. Plus, Sarah clearly doesnât know. I didnât want to hurt her.
Aubrey: That makes sense. Maybe she will dump him before things get too serious.
You: Oh, one more thing, they got engaged at dinner last night. I had a front row seat for the entire thing. And then their after party.
Aubrey: Are you okay? Do you need me to come get you? I donât know exactly how I would find you, but you know I would figure it out.
You: Thanks Aubrey, but Iâm okay.
Lin: Shit, this is really messed up. What do you mean by âyou had a front row seat to their after party?â
You: I walked out to the pool deck and caught them having sex in the pool. Then I tripped over a deck chair trying to get out of there.
Lin: Did they catch you?
You: I still donât know. I really hope not. I donât know how I would show my face in front of either of them again if they did.
Aubrey: How did Todd even meet Sarah? Itâs not like your social circles mix very well.
You: I was thinking about that a lot last night. I am pretty sure that they met at my birthday party.
Lin: So you're telling me when we were all celebrating you, Todd was off hitting on someone else?
You: Pretty much. Iâm realizing a lot about who Todd really is. I think his whole plan was to find someone rich. I was thinking about it last night. I remember that towards the end of our relationship, he made lots of comments about how poor I am.
Aubrey: Youâre not poor! Youâre a college student just trying to make it through school.
Lin: Isnât Sarah the one who dropped out sophomore year to become an influencer?
You: Yes, that is Sarah. She does actually have a big social media following. And as you both know, she comes from a lot of money.
Lin: Well, thatâs pretty easy when you can buy whatever you want and post pictures of yourself on your dadâs billion dollar yacht.
Aubrey: So how long until you get back?
You: I think Iâm staying another week. Weâre sailing to the Bahamas. I was told that we will make port tonight.
Lin: Well, that sounds amazing. Do you know what youâre going to be doing?
You: Iâm not sure yet. Iâll have to ask Joel what has been planned.
Lin: Oh, who is Joel?
You: Joel is just a friend.
Aubrey: Iâm glad to hear at least youâre making friends. Then you have a way to escape from Sarah and Todd.
Lin: Me too. Any pool boys?
You: Haha Lin! Very funny. No, I have not made friends with any of the pool boys.
Lin: Well, maybe you should. There is no better way to get over someone than getting under someone.
Aubrey: I hate to say it, but I agree with Lin. Go get some! There have to be some island hotties at one of your stops.
You: I canât believe you two. I have to go. Someone is knocking at my door. I miss you two so much!
Chuckling at the antics of your two best friends, you set your phone down on the bedside table, smiling to yourself. It's good to know that you have at least two friends you can count on for anything.
You wrap your towel tight around you and check the peephole in the door, relieved to see a maid at your door and not someone else since you're not even dressed yet. You open the door and are surprised to see she's holding a tray and a box in her arms.
"Good morning, Miss," the maid says with a friendly smile on her face.
Confused, you return her smile but look suspiciously at the items she's holding. "Good morning. I think there may have been a mix-up. I didn't call down for anything."
"Don't worry. There was no mix-up," she assures you, taking a step through the open door. "Where would you like me to set this?" she asks.
You open the door wider and let her in to set the tray down on the table. She sets the box gently on the bed and turns to exit, still smiling at you.
"Do you know who sent this?" you ask, tracking the woman with your eyes as she steps away from the bed. However, she does not answer your question. Instead, she continues to proceed to the door with a small knowing smile on her face that makes you wonder what she knows that you don't.
"Have a good day, Miss," she says, giving a small head nod as she flashes you one last grin.
"Thank you," you say and close the door behind her.
You make your way over to the tray first. Lifting the cover, you find a stack of pancakes and a side of bacon and eggs. There's also a small pot of coffee and a fluffy pastry. Your mouth is already watering at the sight of the food, and you inhale deeply, closing your eyes and imagining how good it will all taste, but you replace the cover.
The anticipation for what the box could contain is too great.
The box is tied close with a red ribbon, so you untie it and set it to the side. You remove the lid to the box and are surprised to find a white cotton robe. Immediately, a smile crosses your face, and a small giggle of glee escapes your lips. There's a small handwritten note resting on top.
Darlin,
Please meet me on our secret deck later this evening. Enjoy some time to yourself.
P.S. I wanted you to be comfortable.
Sincerely,
Joel.
You set the card down on the nightstand, right next to the little pink seashell, and you slip on the robe. It's even softer than the night before, if that's possible, and it smells like sandalwood - It smells like Joel.
The clock reads 4:30 pm before you finally get out of bed and dress for the day. You pick out a form-fitting sundress with a delicate blue shell pattern along the hemline. It's one of the pieces that Joel purchased for you at Amorebelle. You aren't used to wearing dresses, but you want to look nice when you see him.
You carefully do your makeup at the vanity table in your bathroom. As you step back and look in the mirror, you are impressed with your own appearance; you look like you belong â almost.
You make your way to Joel's secret deck. Your heart pounds against your ribcage as you get closer. You stop as you round the corner to the private location; all you can see is the back of Joel's head as he holds a phone to his ear. The muscles in his shoulders are tense, and you can tell by his low tone that the conversation is not a pleasant one.
"What do you mean heâs threatening to contact members of the family?" You hear Joel say. "He has demands now? What are his demands?"
There is a long pause after what Joel says, and you watch him running a hand through his hair; he seems to be on edge. He listens carefully to whoever he is talking to, and you consider turning around.
"We need to start protecting the family assets. I need you to review my father's will again and ensure it is airtight. He will not get a dime out of me."
You know you should turn around and give Joel privacy, but your curiosity gets the better of you when he starts talking about his family. You lean against the railing to wait, and it squeaks. It squeaks loudly.
Joel turns his head and gives you a small half-smile. He waves his hand, gesturing for you to come to join him. You hesitantly walk over, taking as much time as possible.
"I agree that's a good plan. Lock everything down, and let me know if we get any more calls from him. I'm counting on you, Alester. Don't let me down," Joel says. He hangs up the phone and sets it on the table next to the lounge chair he is sitting in. He sighs, turns to the laptop sitting next to him, and starts typing.
"Hey, I hope I am not interrupting anything," you say and slowly walk up to him.
"Darlin," Joel says as he closes the laptop and turns to face you. "You're not interrupting anything; I was just getting caught up on some work stuff."
"I just noticed you were on the phone, and I didn't want to interrupt a business call or something," you say, trying to explain why you were leaning against the railing and eavesdropping on his phone call.
"Oh, that wasn't business. I just needed to deal with some family issues," he says as he moves a white and blue striped towel and a bottle of tanning lotion off of the lounge chair next to him, gesturing for you to take a seat.
"Are you feeling better?" he asks, and a natural smile finally mirrors in his eyes.
"I am because of you. Thank you so much for sending me breakfast, and that robe was amazing. I honestly can't remember the last time I let myself lay around in bed all day. I really enjoyed it," you say and sit as gracefully as you can manage in the lounge chair next to Joel.
"Good to hear. You deserved a day to relax like that. You don't need to thank me for the robe; after seeing you in it last night, I knew it belonged to you. It looked like it was made for you, so it was only right that I send it down to you," he says.
His words make your heart beat fast again, and your face flushes. You know you are getting too close to your friend's very handsome and single father than is wise. But, when he says things like that, it is hard not to.
You think about telling him the truth about why you were so upset, but you don't want to ruin the fun you're having together by unloading about your ex-boyfriend, who is about to be his son-in-law.
"So, are you excited to walk your daughter down the aisle?" you ask, quickly trying to change the subject, so you don't blurt out your history with Todd.
"Honestly, I'm not sure if I will walk Sarah down the aisle or if she will want her mom to," Joel answers.
His response surprises you, and it must show on your face because Joel continues with his explanation.
"I was only with Marnie, Sarah's mother, for a short time. Marnie got married to someone else shortly after and had Sarah. She believed that Sarah was biologically her husband's and not mine. I didn't even know Sarah existed. She had Sarah take a DNA test when she was ten; she was linked to some of the Miller family members who had also taken the test. Only then did we find out that Sarah was mine."
"I had no idea, Joel. Sarah never said anything about any of this," you say. You feel so sorry for all of them.
"When Marnie's husband died, she told Sarah and me the truth. However, Sarah had grown up with another man as her father, and I never wanted to try and fill his place in her life. So I never really took on that fatherly role with her. Instead, I bought her everything she ever asked me for, and that was the basis of our relationship for a long time."
You sit there staring at the pain in Joel's face for a while. He never takes his eyes off of the ocean but continues to tell you about his past.
"Over the years, we've tried to build our relationship, and I take her on vacation with me every summer, but we still don't have the typical relationship you would expect. At times, Marnie and I have a hard time getting along; we don't see eye to eye on a lot of things. So I stayed back and let Marnie raise Sarah; in a lot of ways, I don't agree with how she raised her," Joel says with a sigh. "That's why you're all here. Sarah and I don't know how to talk to each other because we have nothing in common and barely any memories together. So dinner gets a little awkward without others to fill the silence," Joel says, seeming slightly embarrassed about admitting this.
"I had no idea. Sarah always made it sound like her life was so perfect."
"In all the ways Sarah measures her life, it has been," Joel says, but you aren't quite sure what he means by it.
A maid with a tray of tropical cocktails interrupts your conversation, and she sets the drinks on the table between Joel and you.
"Thank you, Molly, these look wonderful," Joel says.
"Of course, sir," Molly says with a small smile.
"How's your sister doing? I hope she's making a speedy recovery."
"She is, sir. She should be back on her feet again in no time."
"When we get back, you should make some time to go and see her. I'll tell Reggie to add some more PTO for you," Joel says.
"Thank you, sir, I really appreciate that," she says and turnsto leave.
As you observe the interaction between Joel and one of his staff members, you realize you've never seen him treat an employee poorly. However, Sarah snaps at them to get their attention, and you suspect she doesn't even know their names or anything about them. She doesn't even treat them like they're people. This explains why you never felt like you fit in with Sarah and her friends, but you feel comfortable and want to spend all your time with Joel. He doesn't look down on you for being poor, but Sarah does. The irony of it all is that the only one on the ship who knows exactly how poor you are, is Joel.
You stare at Joel, and when he finally meets your gaze, you can't help but smile at him. "Thank you for telling me all of this," you say.
"Thank you for listening," he responds simply.
"It seems like we're making a habit of telling each other all of our secrets," you say with a small giggle.
"I hope that continues."
"Me too," you answer.
"Sarah has another dinner planned on the upper deck. Can I walk you up?" Joel asks you.
"I'm actually feeling a little seasick, I don't think it would be wise for me to eat right now," you answer. You don't feel like spending another evening with Sarah and her new fiance.
"Do you need a doctor? We have a nurse on the yacht, but we'll be making port in just a few hours; I can call and have one meet us at the dock."
"No, I'm okay, really. I just need to go back and lie down."
"Okay, if you're sure. I'll walk you down to your room," Joel said, checking his watch.
"No, no. I'm fine, really."
"Okay," he says reluctantly, "but please use the intercom in your room if you need anything."
"I will, I promise," you say with a small wave and leave to slowly make your way back to your room.
You take your time moving through the ship. You don't want to run into anyone heading to Sarah's dinner, where the topic of conversation is sure to be all about her recent engagement.
You're relieved when you see that most of the hallways are completely empty, so you quickly start toward your room.
"Hey!"
You turn and see Reggie walking up behind you.
"Hey, Reggie. It's been a while," you say with a smile.
"Where are you going?" he asks.
"I'm going back to my room. I wasn't really in the mood to spend dinner with everyone."
"Well, I was on my way to play some cards with some of the crew members. Why don't you come?"
Reggie must have seen the hesitation on your face. "Come on. It's actually fun to hang out with normal people every once in a while."
You laugh. You didn't realise that Reggie thought you were just as wealthy as the rest of Sarah's friends. "Reggie, I am a normal person. Let's go.â
â
Joel makes his way up to dinner alone, silently wishing you would be joining. You're one of the only ones in the group that he actually cares to have a conversation with. However, it might be for the best that you're not coming. Joel found himself always drawn to you, and if he wasn't careful, Sarah would catch on to his interest in her friend. He knows that would not go over well.
Joel's the last one to arrive, and he takes the only seat available next to Sarah's new fiance, Todd.
"I never got the chance to congratulate you on the engagement last night," Joel says as he shakes Todd's hand. "I rushed out because I had an urgent business matter I had to attend to."
Joel hoped that would adequately explain his quick departure the night before. He feels a little guilty that he didnt stay to celebrate and instead took off after you to make sure she was okay.
If he's being honest with himself, his evening spent with you, talking in the sauna, was much more enjoyable. He probably won't be winning any best dad of the year awards, though. He already smoothed things over with Sarah this morning. He showed up to her room with a pair of diamond earrings from Tiffany's. He'd bought them for her birthday, but they were perfect as a stand-in engagement present. Once he brought out the diamond, he didn't think she heard another word that he said. Heâs happy to see that sheâs wearing them tonight. She truly did look happy, and Joel prayed she would be in her marriage.
"Thank you so much, sir. I hope you approve of our engagement," Todd says.
Joel almost forgot that it was customary for a man to ask for his daughter's hand to get the father's approval of the marriage. "I think you two make a great couple. I'm looking forward to having you as part of the family, Todd," Joel says and then stands up. He taps his wine glass to get the group's attention. Everyone at the table quiets quickly and turns to him.
"I want to congratulate Sarah and Todd on their engagement. May they find happiness in each other and enjoy each other's company for many years to come." Sarah's friends all clap at this statement. Once the quiet returns he starts again. âAs my engagement gift to the couple, I would like to throw you two an engagement party at my home here in the Bahamas."
This announcement receives a very excited response from all of Sarah's friends. Sarah's face is beaming at all of the attention she is getting. She smiles and stands up to make an announcement of her own. Joel notices she shakes her head gracefully from side to side, causing the earrings to catch the light. She is an expert at showing off wealth; no wonder sheâs doing so well as an influencer.
âThank you so much, Daddy! I'm so glad you approve, and an engagement party will be the perfect way to announce to the world that I'm about to be married. I am so excited about the upcoming wedding, and I would be honoured if all of you were part of our wedding party." Sarah is met with murmurs of agreement from the men and squeals of excitement from the women present. She sits down with a huge smile, clearly pleased with the group's reactions. âDaddy, can you hire some professional photographers for the engagement party? I need some really good pictures to post."
âOf course," Joel says.
âI wish we could have gotten some great shots of the actual engagement, but Todd didn't think about that part of it," Sarah says, with a hint of annoyance in her voice.
âI'm sorry, sweetheart, but I told you it wasn't exactly planned. We had such an amazing day, and it just felt like the right time," Todd says defensively.
âI'm marrying a true romantic," Sarah says, resting her chin on Todd's shoulder.
âIs there anything else you two need?" Joel asks, trying his best to be supportive.
âIâll need to pick one more bridesmaid so we have even numbers," Sarah says to Joel.
âWhy not ask your old roomate?" Joel asks, confused as to why Sarah isn't planning on asking her most likable and attractive friend.
âOh, I didn't notice that she wasn't here for my announcement. That sort of works out for the best, though. Iâm going to ask someone different. She doesn't really fit into the vision I have for the wedding," Sarah says, sounding very much like a snob.
âAnd what exactly is your vision for the wedding?" Joel asks, annoyed with his daughter's uncouth response.
âI want everything to be glamorous," Sarah says as though it was the most obvious thing in the world. âI'll still invite her, but as part of the wedding party, you have to fit the aesthetic."
âThat's true; it's not like she would be comfortable with the level of finery at the wedding anyway. Itâs very obvious that sheâs lower class. I think our guests would be able to sense that. If she can't afford to buy a new dress for her birthday party, it's not likely that she will be able to afford a bridesmaid's dress anyway," Todd says with a smug smile on his face.
Sarah giggles and then turns to talk to the woman next to her about possible venues for the wedding.
âDidn't you just meet her this week?" Joel asks Joel in a low voice.
âYeah, Sarah told me they went to college together or something," Todd says and takes a bite off his plate.
âThen how would you know she couldn't afford a new dress for her birthday party?" Joel says with quiet suspicion.
Todd's eyes go wide in shock, and he nearly chokes on the food in his mouth. He takes a few moments to recover and then says, âI think Sarah told me that. She went to her birthday, and she had to borrow a dress because she couldn't afford a new one."
Although Joel doesn't doubt that Sarah would gossip about something as petty as not being able to afford a new dress, he finds it odd that Todd would remember something like that. Todd's reaction tells Joel that he is hiding something, and Joel's suspicion is only increased by his quick shift to join Sarah's conversation.
Do you and Todd know each other outside of Sarah?
Joel eats the rest of his meal in silence and makes an excuse about having work to do to get out of the rest of the evening's activities. Instead of heading back to his room, he goes to the captain to tell him about the change of plans.Â
After Joel's conversation with the captain, he makes his way to his office, which is located a floor below the guest rooms. He thinks about going and checking on you but decides it is best to let you get some sleep.
Joel's office on the yacht is a carbon copy of his office at home. It has a large wooden desk in the center and a large dark leather armchair. The only difference is the view is spectacularly better on the yacht. A large windowed balcony sits behind the desk, so Joel can watch the ocean as he works.
Joel sinks into his leather chair and opens the laptop on his desk. A notification glows on the screen, informing him of the one hundred and twenty-seven emails waiting in his inbox. He pulls out his phone instead and finds his event planner's phone number in his contacts.
âHello, this is Jessica of Jessica's events."
âJessica, this is Joel Miller."
âMr. Miller, itâs great to hear from you again. To what do I owe this pleasure?"
âI'm calling to see if you can organize a party for me. My daughter just got engaged, and I want to throw her an engagement party at my home in the Bahamas."
âCongratulations, Mr. Miller. I would love to help plan such a happy occasion. When can I pencil in your event?"
âTwo days from now," he says, knowing the absurdity of the request.
âDid I hear you right? You want me to plan an entire event in two days?"
âIf anyone can do it, it's you, Jessica. Iâm willing to pay double."
âYou have always known how to close a deal. I will have everything ready for you, Mr. Miller. Does your daughter have a theme in mind?â
Joel hates that he has to say it out loud, âShe said the theme of her wedding isâŚglamor."
He hears a small giggle escape from Jessica on the other end of the phone, and she quickly tries to cover it with a cough.
âI know how it sounds," Joel says, embarrassed. âThatâs why I am trusting you with this event. I know you will make it tasteful. After the engagement party, Iâll have Sarah talk with you about wedding plans."
âThat sounds great, Mr. Miller. I will see you in two days."
âThank you very much. Goodbye," Joel says and hangs up the phone. This wedding is going to be expensive, and Joel already expects to foot the bill for everything. Extravagant is one thing, but Sarah's taste is beyond even that.
Joel turns his attention back to his laptop screen and the blinking email notification, but he can't get you out of his head. Instead of working, he pulls up his social media pages and searches for your name. He quickly finds your social media pages. You're not very active; most of your pictures are candid shots of you and your friends, two women that looke kind and a lot more down-to-earth than his own daughter.
Joels slightly disappointed that you don't have more pictures for him to scroll through and very little about your life. He wants to know more about you, but it seems like you're very private with your online presence.
He sighs and closes the social media pages, finally returning to the emails heâs dreading sorting through. The newest email in his inbox makes his heart sink. It's from an unknown sender and contains a single sentence.
I know who I really am, and the whole world will, too, if you don't meet my demands.
â
"I am a normal person," you say again, smiling as you walk with Reggie. He raises an eyebrow skeptically at you.
"You don't believe me?" you ask.
"Right, because us normal people get invited to one of the largest private yachts in the world as guests all the time. You don't have to pretend you're not rich to fit in with the crew. They will like you because you are actually nice," Reggie says.
"I am the furthest thing from rich," you laugh.
"Oh, yeah? Prove it," Reggie says with a teasing smile on his face.
You quickly pull out your phone and find a picture of you and your two roommates in your apartment and show it to Reggie.
"What does this prove?" he asks.
"This is a picture of me and my two roommates, Lin and Aubrey; we are sitting in the living room of our one-bedroom apartment. Iâm a bartender at a little dive bar, and I currently have two hundred and thirty dollars in my bank account," you say matter of factly.
Reggie's expression changes from one of teasing to one of shock.
"Are you serious?" he asks.
"I mean, I can pull up a bank statement if you really want," you say with a smile.
"Then how did you end up as one of Sarah's friends?"
"Sarah and I were roommates during our first few years at NYU. I think Sarah was placed in the regular dorm rooms to teach her what it was like to be a regular person or something," you say, only half joking. You still haven't figured that one out. Maybe her dad was trying to teach her a life lesson. "Anyway, she hated it and dropped out her sophomore year, but we remained friends and have been in and out of touch over the years. She randomly invited me on this vacation, and I accepted. I didn't expect the yacht to be quite this big, though."
Once you are done with your explanation, you are on the lowest floor of the yacht. You're surprised at how nice the staff area is. Perhaps you'd been expecting it to be like a scene from the lower decks of the movie 'Titanic,' but the lowest level of the ship looks like walking into a lobby of a four-star hotel.
You make your way into what must be the staff dining room. Thereâs a large group of people surrounding a circular table in the middle of a game of cards. Music is playing in the background, and snacks and beer litter the table. It looks like this is going to be the most comfortable you've been on your trip so far.
"Everyone be nice; we have a newcomer," Reggie says as he pulls out a chair for you.
The mood changes slightly as you sit down, and Reggie sits next to you. You realize youâre still wearing the sundress that Joel bought you, and you must look like you are made of money.
"Hey, I'm Max," says a man with black hair and olive skin.
"Hey, Max," you stick your hand out to shake his and you introduce yourself.Â
"Nice to meet you. Tell us about yourself."
"There isn't much to tell. I'm a bartender at a little hole-in-the-wall in New York, and I'm trying to put myself through law school," you say nonchalantly.
"What bar?" a girl across the table asks.
"It's called McGregor's."
"No way! I've been there before," Max says. âYou have the best nachos!"
You laugh. âYeah, we do. I would eat an entire plate by myself if no one were watching."
You feel the entire table relax as they all realize that you aren't like the rest of the guests on the yacht.
"What are we playing?" you ask, grabbing a handful of popcorn.
"Strip Poker."
Your throat goes dry at the thought of undressing in front of a room full of strangers. You're afraid to swallow the piece of popcorn you just placed in your mouth. You look around, and everyone is still fully clothed, and your heart rate starts to slow. Max smiles, clearly finding enjoyment in your shock.
"Max, don't scare her off already," Reggie chuckles. âDo you want a beer?â
â
âYou wouldn't believe what one of the 'Richies' asked me today,â Brenna says
"Oh, this is going to be good. Brenna always has the best stories," Reggie leans over and whispers to you. After a few beers and a hand or two of actual poker, everyone seems completely at ease with you.
"I was cleaning up a wine glass he'd dropped, and he started hitting on me. Obviously, he has no idea what the real world is like, so he starts asking questions as a way to talk to me."
"Oh no," Max says with a laugh.
"He asked me about living on the bottom deck of the yacht, and I tell him how it takes some getting used to because we are below the water down here. Then he asks me how we use our balconies if they're underwater."
You snort into your glass, glad you hadn't been taking a sip of the beer at the moment, or it would be flowing out of your nose. You set your beer down and ask, "Oh, please tell me you had a good comeback."
She smiles brightly, "I told him we could only use them at low tide. Then he nods and says, 'That makes sense.' I swear they are all clueless."
Brenna starts laughing, and the whole table joins in, but by the time you catch your breath, you have tears in the corners of your eyes. You have not laughed like this the entire time you've been on the ship.
"No offense; I know Sarah is your friend and all, but how do you stand spending time with them?" Max asks.
"Oh, trust me, itâs a challenge. I sneak off by myself whenever I get the chance. No one seems to really notice, especially after Sarah's engagement."
"Oh, man, her fiance is a real tool, isn't he?" Brenna adds.
"He's a social climber too, so they are actually a great fit," Charlotte says. Charlotte is one of the older staff members and hasn't said much throughout the night.
"Well, that makes sense about the fiance, but do you mean Sarah is one too?" Max asks.
They seem to have forgotten that you are there, or at least they forget that you know Sarah personally. However, you keep your mouth shut not because you want to know more, but because you are trying to act as if you don't care too much.
"I started working for Mr. Miller when Sarah and the horrible woman she has as a mother first came around. That same day, the staff was all told that Sarah was Mr. Miller's daughter and to make sure she had everything she needed. Marnie, Sarah's mother, spent the whole day ordering the staff around like she was the owner of the house," said Charlotte.
"From my experience with Marnie, that sounds about right," Max offers.
"Sarah was raised by another man by the name of Winston Radcliff. Some of the staff had been around when Mr. Miller first brought Marnie around. The rumor was that Marnie threw Mr. Miller aside for Radcliff right after she found out she was pregnant because Radcliff could offer her a better position in society."
You can't imagine someone who had the chance to be with Joel choosing another person over him. You can't help but ask, "What did Winston offer that Joel couldn't?"
"Radcliff was the next in line for an earldom. It turned out that the earldom came with a shabby little estate that cost Winston his fortune to keep standing. The marriage quickly turned sour, and when the earl died, Marnie was just as quick to get a paternity test for Sarah."
"In my opinion, Mr. Miller was better off not knowing the truth. Marnie always shows up asking for more money. Sarah has always wanted something, even though Mr. Miller buys her more than she could ever need." Charlotte says.
"Was Joel in love with Marnie?" you ask, not knowing if you really want the answer.
"No, I don't think he ever really loved her. Maybe he could have found a woman right for him if Marnie hadn't been around for the last fourteen years, scaring away every decent woman he has dated. She thinks that if she can keep him single long enough, he will fall back in love with her, but Mr. Miller will never forgive her for what she did."
You nod and turn to see Reggie staring at you with a strange, almost hurt look on his face. He turns away from you before you can ask him what's wrong.
"Well, I think I'm going to head to bed," Brenna says, and the others all stand up to follow.
"You should come play cards with us again," Max says.
"Absolutely! We are here every night, and you are welcome to join us," Brenna adds.
"Thank you. I will." You're happy to know they've welcomed you as one of them.
You say a quick goodnight to everyone and head back up the stairs to the upper decks. Reggie's room is on the lower deck, so you walk by yourself. It must be later than you thought because the lights in the pool area are already turned off.
You feel silly rushing across the dark deck, but it makes you sort of nervous being alone on such a big ship. You're careful to avoid the deck chairs this time, and you're relieved to make it to the doors leading into the guestroom corridor.
"Where the hell have you been?"
You stop dead in your tracks and don't want to turn around. You know that tone of voice from countless arguments. It's Todd, the last person on the entire ship that you want to be alone with. You slowly turn, knowing you're going to have to face him eventually.
He stumbles a step towards you, and you back up to avoid a collision if he falls.
"Are you drunk?"
"I believe I asked a question first," Todd stutters.
"I was playing a game of cards with some of the crew."
Todd laughs and rolls his eyes at you. He again stumbles a little closer, and you're trapped between him and your door. He leans forward and places an arm on either side of you, blocking your escape. You can smell the alcohol on his breath as he laughs. He's beyond drunk.
"Just like you. A yacht full of every thing you could want, and you spend your time with the help."
"Get off of me, Todd!"
"You know you still want me," Todd says, lowering his face closer to yours. You push against his chest, trying to get him off.
Todd is suddenly ripped backward, so forcefully you know it wasn't of his own doing.Â
You see Joel standing behind Todd with a fist full of his shirt. âGet your ass to bed before I throw you off my ship."

â PRETTY, PRETTY BOY
๨ৠ. . . there was a saying in the port mafia; that amongst their ranks hid an angel in disguise, who, through simple words alone, could make any man bend to her mercy. nobody could really resist her blinding charm. her mafioso boyfriend, of course, was no exemption.
alternatively, you convince CHUUYA NAKAHARA to try on a maid's uniform. You like it a lot more than you thought.
warnings: criminal themes, swearing, female reader, slight manipulation, pet-names, suggestive content, w.c 1.9k
đđđ đđđ đđđđđ đđ đđ đ đđđđ, at first. For your stout, temperamental mafioso lover was always such a pleasure to tease. He took everything so seriously, in that adorable, flustered way of his. Not many would think that the Chuuya Nakahara was so easy to work up. He commanded soldiers, legions; men were terrified of the underground General who was also a mortal master of gravity. Maybe it was a side to him he kept reserved just for you. That soft, cheeky side. The blush that always heated his ears to the colour of his hair whenever you decided to play with him.
"No fuckin' way."
You stood there in the bedroom you both shared â lavish and expensive, sitting on one of the highest floors of the Port Mafia's headquarters. He had already discarded his coat and hat, was busy scratching the crown of his head when you had put the question to him. Interrupting his yawn mid-way. Chuuya's eyebrows had scrunched, he'd shot you a disbelieving retort â the hell did you just say? Then, he caught sight of what was draped across your bent forearm.
His eyes had flickered from yours, to the dress, to yours, once more. When he asked you to say that again, that he didn't think he had heard you right, he had shut you down with that very blunt denial.
"Please?" You pouted, batting your eyelashes. "It's just a bit of fun. You'd look so adorable, Chuuya!"
"Hah?! No!" Chuuya snapped. He was like an angry kitten, his canines sharp and baring. "The fuck did you even get that thing, anyway?"
"I think Mori ordered the wrong size for Elise-chan," You held up the dress so it draped down, almost the length of your body, but not quite. It just barely sat a size too small. With its narrow set waist and countless little frills, you were, at first, a little disappointed â that such a pretty thing was going to go to waste. And then, the gears in your mind began their mischievous little tune. You looked at Chuuya with wide, imploring eyes. "Are you scared to put on a dress, my love?"
Chuuya scoffed, rolling his eyes. "I'm not scared of anything, baby doll."
"Then put it on."
"Go fuck yourself."
"You're so mean!"
At your wounded tone, the General's shoulders tightened a little. When he stole a glance in your direction, he saw the way your eyebrows drooped over your sad doe eyes, how your full lips formed that pretty little pout. Damn him, he was not considering this shit, there was absolutely no way Chuuya Nakahara was going to fit himself into that ugly piece of cloth just to make you happy. Murder, espionage â sure. For you, he wouldn't even give it a second thought. It would come as natural to him as breathing air.
But this?
He poked his cheek with his tongue. He began angrily tapping his foot against the carpeted floor. Stealing a second glance at the woman he loved, he caught the shadow of disappointment hanging over your head like an ominous raincloud, and felt the last shred of his resistance dissipate into sorry little afterthoughts.
Chuuya let out an extremely exaggerated sigh. Blinking, you glanced at him. He had his head bowed a little and was holding out one open, gloved palm.
"Hand it over."
A little startled all of a sudden, you gawped, making a strange sound. "Huh?"
An impatient growl echoed in the air. Chuuya looked up to glare at you from underneath his fair lashes, his eyes the colour of diamonds, of hard impenetrable sapphires. They narrowed dangerously when you were staring too long at the rose that blushed against his alabaster skin.
"So? Are ya gonna give me the shitty little thing, or not?"
Quickly understanding that he was actually taking you seriously, that he was considering your little charade, you had become too stupefied to do anything else. With hesitant fingers did you hold the maid's dress out to him, which he snatched from your grip in one forceful, swiping movement. You thought you caught the ends of the fuckin' shit I do for this woman, at the tail of it, but you couldn't be totally sure.
Seething, Chuuya balled the garment in his fist and marched off to your on-suite bathroom. He took a little longer than you expected him to â of course, he had never tried on a dress before. Maybe he was having trouble getting past all the ribbons and buttons, ties and zippers.
"Fuck me!" You heard him swear through the door after a few more moments of silence. Tender chuckles rose like bubbles in your chest â he was trying so hard to please you, exposing that soft side you kept under lock and key, only for yourself to indulge.
You lifted your hand to knock softly on the door. "Do you need some help in there?"
A growling blue-streak of profanities. Somehow, becoming more colourful and creative than the last. "How the hell do you women wake up in the morning and do this shit, every day? There's like, a million buttons on this ugly piece of crap!"
Crashing and banging mixed into the collection of sounds that was coming from the small bathroom. Amused, but also a little worried that he'd pull a little too hard on one of the ribbons and fall backwards against the toilet seat, you placed your hand on the golden doorhandle.
"Because us women are just that amazing," You mused, not resisting the urge to goad him. Your voice then dropped into a serious lilt. "Really, it's okay, Chuuya â you don't have toâ"
That was when you felt it â the cool, insistent press of gravity, the humming in the air that told you your lover had activated his fearful technique. Your eyes shot down to where it was coming from, and to your immediate surprise, you saw the soft glow of crimson enveloped around the handle you were trying to unlatch â holding it securely in place.
"No. I said I'd fuckin' do it, didn't I?" Chuuya remarked through the wood. "So I will. Go wait over at the bed."
Prideful, stubborn man, you thought, rolling your eyes at his defensive tone, oh, how you loved him. "Okay." You sang sweetly, then stepped away from the bathroom door so as to sashay over to your expansive king size. You barely had a chance to set yourself down on the satin sheets when â bang!
The on-suite door had been thrown off of its hinges and cracked against the neighbouring wall with the force he put behind it. And standing there in the doorway in all his blood-boiling, skin-heating, frill-covered glory, was that very General who instilled terror to even the most seasoned of underground criminals. The long black dress that stopped just at his ankles and puffed at the shoulders threw his wild fiery hair into focus. The frilly white apron hanging loosely at his narrow waist contested with the bright red flush creeping up his neck.
You must have been staring at him for a little too long, because Chuuya snarled. "You happy now? I look damn ridiculous."
You didn't laugh. Nor did you tease him, as always, but you rose slowly up off of the bed and began to walk over to him. Stalk him, quietly, your expression a smooth, unreadable slate. The extreme lack of a reaction from you was making Chuuya's eyebrows knit, his lips softening from snarl to frown.
"O-Oi?"
When you reached him, you shot out to grab the little lapels of the dress that collared his long neck and tugged him down. So that he came just eye level with your own darker, smouldering ones. Oh, you were going to pounce on him. Packaged up in that pretty little parcel for you, you were going to devour him where he stood.
You smiled, leaning in, and whispered, "Told you you'd look absolutely adorable, my pretty, pretty boy."

Alcina's New Maid Pt. 23 Lady Dimitrescu x Reader
Summary: You and Alcina spend a cozy morning in bed before going to pay the prisoner a visit.
Warnings: 18+ minors DNI.
Tags: some smut, dash of sub!alci and a little soft!dom reader
Notes: Part 23!
I am SO sorry this has taken LITERALLY over a month for me to finish!! But I think I have a pretty valid excuse, for those of you who didn't see my latest update - I'm pregnant!! And it's a boy! The first trimester was ROUGH, I wasn't vomiting but I was so sick. I'm 17 weeks and am feeling much, much better! (Aside from hip/lower back pain, according to the old wives tales that's common when pregnant with boys lolz) anyway I'm hoping to update much more regularly now that I'm finally feeling better!
Click here for the rest of the series
The morning sunlight filters in through the window, gently waking you from your slumber. The feeling of a heavy arm draped across your stomach let you know that Alcina was still in bed with you. Turning over to face her, you come across a sight you don't see very often - if you've seen it at all. Alcina asleep on her stomach, one arm under her pillow under her head and the other keeping you close. Her usual pristine and perfect curls are sprawled out across the pillowcase with a few rogue strands hanging down into her face.
She looks so peaceful, if not for her size you would think she was human in this moment. Your eyes dance across her sleeping features. Her skin, riddled with scars and marks that she covers up with makeup, her over-plucked eyebrows that she also corrects with makeup are on full display. You notice how long and dark her natural eyelashes are as they rest on the tops of her cheeks. Her full pink lips, the laugh lines that rest at the corners of her mouth, everything about her is so beautiful.
You delicately tuck a strand of hair hanging in her face behind her ear, hoping you don't wake her up. But of course, Alcina is one of the lightest sleepers you've ever met - honestly you're surprised that turning in her arms didn't wake her.
Her eyes flutter open and beautiful gold irises look back at you.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up."
"Don't be, I am surprised I fell back asleep."
"Did you get up at all last night?"
"No," she says, shaking her head and pulling you in closer. "I laid here all night with you in my arms. I considered getting some work done but I couldn't bring myself to let you go."
Alcina nuzzles into your hair, taking a deep inhale and exhaling with a content sigh.
It wasn't until her hand rested against your bare back did you realize you were still naked from the events of the night before. You tuck yourself under her chin, trying to get as close as possible. Alcina kisses the top of your head and holds you against her chest. An audible purr rumbles through her as she buries her nose into your hair.
You can feel her purrs vibrate through your body and you can't help but lightly chuckle.
"What are you laughing at?" She asks, nuzzling into you more.
"Nothing, it just seems like both you and the dragon are enjoying yourselves this morning."
Alcina huffs into your hair and shakes her head.
"I suppose we are. It does seem to enjoy your company." She mumbles.
"I have a feeling I am going to enjoy her company as well. As long as she doesn't try to kill me again." You joke.
Alcina pulls away and narrows her eyes at you. You can see the hurt in her eyes, the regret she stills holds onto from that day.
"That is not something to joke about." She says with a deadly serious edge to her voice.
"I'm sorry. I only joked about it because I've been able to move past it. I don't want you to keep blaming yourself for what happened."
"I will because it was my fault."
Bringing your hand to cup her face, you brush your thumb across her skin.
"It was Miranda's fault, not yours. And I am going to remind you of that every day for the rest of my life if I have to, Alcina. I love you. I forgive you. I want you to forgive yourself."
Alcina closes her eyes with a sigh. She places her hand over yours and presses it into her skin. When her eyes open again they're glassy with unshed tears. Alcina opens and closes her mouth a few times, trying to find the words to respond with.
Instead of waiting for her response you lean in and press your lips into hers. Her golden eyes flutter shut and she kisses you back. The kiss turns from one of understanding to one of passion. Your tongue grazes her bottom lip and she parts them, allowing you in. The hand she had against yours on her cheek moves behind you before she rolls onto her back, pulling you on top.
As the kiss intensifies you bite down on Alcina's bottom lip and tug at it. A moan escapes from her and you bring your lips back to hers to swallow it. Your hands travel down her neck, past her shoulders to the tops of her breasts. She arches into your touch and you take as much of her massive breasts into your hands as you can - the only thing separating you from her skin is the thin fabric of her nightgown. Another moan slips past her lips into yours when you begin to massage her breasts. Taking her nipples between your fingers, she whimpers into your mouth causing to you moan in response when you roll them.
Last night she worshipped you, now you get to return the favor.
Releasing her breasts from your grip you grab the thin straps of her nightgown and pull them down. Alcina slides her arms out and you pull the silk down to her waist. She groans when your hands find her breasts once more and you start kissing down her jaw towards her neck.
She threads her fingers through your hair as she guides your kisses further down her body. As eager as the both of you are, you still want to take your time to try and kiss every inch of skin you can so you fight against Alcina's pushing a little. She groans at your silent protest and you respond by nipping at her collarbone, causing her to take a sharp inhale. Of course the mark immediately disappears but you're pretty sure you got your point across when you feel her grip loosen.
You kiss across her other collarbone before slowly making your way down towards her sternum and between her breasts. Her nipples harden in your hands and your own patience begins to wear thin. In one swift motion you pull away from between her breasts and take one of her hardened peaks into your mouth. Alcina's groan quickly turns into a moan as you circle your tongue around it and suck. Just before it becomes too sensitive you release her nipple with a pop and latch onto the other one, repeating your ministrations.
Moans pass through Alcina's lips as you suck on her. She certainly wasn't expecting this to happen this morning but now that you've started, she might go crazy if you stopped.
The silk of her nightgown is soft under your touch as you run your hands down her stomach. As you reach her hips you gather the fabric and begin to bunch it up before releasing her other nipple from between your lips.
Alcina's legs fall open and her hand rests on the top of your shoulder. Looking up at her you take in the sight before you. A true goddess, with her head thrown back into the pillow, her usual perfect and pristine curls splayed across the pillowcase. Her eyes are closed and her lips parted in anticipation for you to reach your next destination. She gently pushes down on your shoulder, giving you a not-subtle hint to where she wants you to go next.
Sliding between her legs, you leave open mouthed kisses on the exposed skin of her stomach as you make your way down. You place one last kiss above the band of her underwear before getting settled. Taking in the sight in front of you you see the large wet patch in the middle of her lacy underwear. Reaching out, you run your fingers up and down the wet spot, causing Alcina's breath to hitch with a groan.
Her hips begin to gently roll against your touch. Placing a kiss on the inside of her thigh, you rest your hand on top of her mound and let your thumb circle her already swollen clit. She lets out the softest whine that causes you to smile into the skin of her thigh as you continue to pepper it with light kisses.
It surprises you how sensitive she is until you realize how long it's probably been since her last release. Jealousy begins to set in when you realize the last person to touch her was that maid. The last person to unravel Alcina was that maid. Right then and there you make the decision to make sure no one will ever be able make her feel as good as you can. It becomes your mission to make sure no one else's touch but your own will ever be able to unravel her again.
Abruptly, you pull your hand away and she lets out a groan of frustration. Before she can protest any further you grab each side of her underwear and practically yank them down her long legs, throwing them aside.
You kiss your way back up the inside of her thighs before settling between her legs once more. Looking up at Alcina you see that her eyes are squeezed shut but you want her to see you pleasure her. You want her to see that it's you driving her into bliss.
"Alcina," you say as you plant kisses into her soft, muscular thighs. "look at me."
Alcina hears your request but can't bring herself to open her eyes. Last time she did it crushed her that it wasn't you between her legs. She's terrified that if she looks it won't be you there. So she shakes her head "no".
Nipping the inside of her thigh, she whimpers.
"Look at me." Again, she shakes her head no. "Alcina, my love, look at me."
The smell of her arousal is intoxicating, it's so tempting for you to say "fuck it" and feast on her as she's spread out before you, but you stay strong.
"My love," you say as you kiss the inside of her thigh again. "look at me, please."
Alcina rolls her hips towards your mouth but you do your best to push them back down, and much to your surprise you're able to - she doesn't put up much of a fight.
"I want you to look at me Alcina. Look at me."
The throbbing between her legs begins to surpass the fear she has. After taking a shaky inhale, she opens her eyes and looks down at you as she props herself up on her elbows. The air in her lungs stalls when she sees that it's you between her legs. Relief washes over her and she melts into the mattress as her body relaxes.
A smile pulls at the corner of your lips as your eyes meet her golden ones. You see the look of relief, of passion burning in them. There's almost a look of desperation, a silent plea for you to continue.
"Good job." You say. A wave of arousal courses through Alcina, she definitely wasn't expecting you to praise her and she definitely wasn't expecting the praise to turn her on even more. "Now keep your eyes on me. Can you do that?"
Alcina silently nods her head "yes" and you lower your mouth down to her. You lick a broad strip up her dripping slit, just barely brushing over her clit. Her moans fill your ears as you moan from her taste on your tongue.
Looking back up at her, you notice her eyes are closed and her head is thrown back. You nip at the inside of her thigh to get her attention and her head snaps back towards you.
"Eyes on me." You say.
Alcina goes to protest but before she can utter a word you dive back in and the words die on her tongue. Anything she was about to say was replaced by a string of soft curses and moans. Your eyes flick up to make sure she's still looking at you and you see her golden irises staring back. You smile into her and swipe your tongue over her clit before capturing it between your lips.
A large hand grips the back of your head and Alcina cries out as you lick and suck on her throbbing clit. Every time you check to make sure she's still looking at you, you see her eyes trained on you.
Doubling down on your efforts you flick your tongue over her clit faster as it throbs between your lips. Alcina's legs begin to shake and just as they start to tighten around your head, just before she's about to fall into bliss, you pull away.
Her fingers holding onto the hair on the back of your head tighten almost painfully as she cries out at the loss. Looking back up at her, her eyes are glowing with frustration and she growls at you.
"Shh," you say, kissing the inside of her thigh. "let me take care of you. Trust me my love." The grip on the back of your head loosens and her eyes soften. "Good, keep looking at me."
She nods her head and you lick up her slit once more before bringing three of your fingers to her entrance. After you coat them in her arousal, you part her lips and slowly push in. Alcina moans above you as you push your fingers in and pull them out before pushing them back in once more. You repeat this motion a few times before thrusting down to your knuckles. She lets out a moan when you start fall into a rhythm and curl your fingers into her velvety walls. Three fingers may feel good for her but you know it's not enough so after a few more thrusts and curls you add a fourth finger.
Alcina moans grow louder and you feel her clench down around you as you continue to thrust and curl your fingers. With her eyes still focused on you, she begins to rock her hips to the pace you've set.
"Oh, draga." She moans.
"Am I making you feel good my love?"
"Yes." She says with an exhale.
"Can you take more of me? Do you want me to fill you baby?" You ask as you thrust hard into her and curl your fingers.
"Yes!" She cries. "Please my love, give me more!"
Folding your thumb across your palm, you slide your whole hand into her and you feel her walls stretch around you. Alcina lets out a filthy moan yet her eyes never leave you.
"Good job, I know how much you love feeling me fill you. I know you missed this, didn't you?" You ask as you pick up the pace.
"Yes! I missed you inside of me, I missed you so much draga mea!"
Your thrusts become faster and harder as you feel her walls flutter around you. The tips of your fingers feel that spongy spot deep inside and you push further into it before your fingers curl. Alcina lets out a scream as you start to pound against that spot.
"Oh fuck, draga! Right there!" She cries as her hips rock harder against your hand.
"Right here?" You ask as you curl against that spot again and she cries out as she stares down at you. She couldn't pull her eyes away from you even if she wanted to in this moment. "No one knows you like I do, isn't that right? No one else knows exactly what spot to hit to make you see stars, do they?" You ask as you continue to fuck her.
Unable to form words, Alcina shakes her head "no" as more moans leave her lips.
"That little maid could never fuck you the way I do, could she?" Alcina's mouth hangs open and she shakes her head "no" again. "Answer me." You say before swiping your tongue over her clit.
Alcina's hips buck into you and she cries out.
"No! She could never fuck me the way you do! No one could ever fuck me the way you do!"
"Good girl." You say before latching onto her clit and sucking on it.
Alcina's moans and cries grow louder and you feel her walls beginning to clench around your hand. She's getting close but you want to drag it out as long as you possibly can.
"Not yet." You say before flicking your tongue over her clit again.
She lets out a frustrated groan and throws her head back.
"Uh-uh, look at me." She rolls her head forward and her half-lidded eyes lock onto yours. You can see in her eyes how close she is. "Not yet baby, not yet."
Alcina whimpers as she tries to hold off her orgasm. You push her further and further, her legs begin to shake around your head as she does her best to stop from falling over the edge.
"Almost, not yet." You mumble into her.
"Please." She whimpers. "Please my love."
Your eyes snap up to hers and you see the desperation in her eyes, a complete submission you've never seen before. The look in her eyes spurs you on as you thrust faster and suck harder on her clit.
"Draga, I - I can't -"
"Cum for me baby."
Alcina's body trembles and you can see the explosion behind her eyes before they roll into the back of her head as she lets out a scream. She clenches tightly around your hand as you continue to fuck her through her orgasm. Her clit throbs wildly in your mouth and you flatten your tongue against it as she bucks against you, letting her use your mouth as she rides it out.
Her cries soften and her walls start to relax. You swipe over her clit once more with your tongue - causing her to whine - before pulling your soaked hand from her. Alcina's chest rapidly rises and falls as she continues to come down from her high, trying to catch her breath. Aftershocks cause her hips and legs to twitch around you.
Crawling up next to her, Alcina opens her eyes and looks deeply into yours. Before you can say anything she pulls you into her and kisses you with an explosive passion.
When your lips part she buries her face into the side of your neck as the last of the aftershocks course through her. You run your fingers through her hair and kiss her head as she holds you tight.
Alcina has never relented control like that before with you. Even when you were pleasuring her in the past she was always in control. You wonder if she's ever let someone else take control before. Maybe before she got the cadou, but you're almost certain that she's never let someone else have control after.
She pulls away and looks into your eyes. You notice how watery they are and you cup her cheek and smile at her.
"Thank you." She says softly, holding back her tears.
"Of course. I love you."
"I love you, draga mea."
When your lips meet you feel a warmth flood your body. There's no hunger or desperation in the kiss, just pure love. She kisses you slowly for some time before your lips finally part. Alcina rests her forehead against yours and holds you tight.
"I love you so much. I am never letting you go ever again." She whispers.
"Good. Because I never want to let you go." You say back.
The two of you bask in the afterglow for a while longer, just holding each other in your arms while exchanging soft, slow kisses. It's moments like these with her that are your absolute favorite. Moments where the rest of the world disappears and it's just the two of you cuddled under the duvet. Your fingers trace her larger ones, in awe of how much bigger her hands are than yours. How soft her skin is, how strong they are. For the first time you really get a good look at the tips of her fingers and her fingernails. It fascinates you that her near perfect manicure can become such dangerous, beautiful claws in an instant.
"Does it hurt?" You ask.
"No. It was rather uncomfortable at first but I grew used to it over time."
"Was it hard to control?"
"I wouldn't say it was hard, but it did take some getting used to in the beginning. There were plenty of instances where a poor maid was in the wrong place at the wrong time and she was accidentally sliced to ribbons."
"What happened?"
"They were more difficult to control when I was in fits of anger - which happened often back then. They seemed to have a mind of their own."
"Like a defense mechanism?"
"In a way, yes. So if I wasn't careful about my movements or how close I was to someone when I was angry, well, lets just say it didn't often end well."
"How long did it take you to control them?"
"Not very long, a few years perhaps. Although still to this day I can feel them itching to come out when I'm upset or angry, but I have much better control now than I did then."
"Do you file them?"
"Every so often, yes. But the wear and tear of my everyday work naturally wears them down so they're not as sharp."
"Is this the shortest they go without you having to trim them?"
"You are so full of questions this morning." She says with a smile as a light blush dusts your cheeks. Alcina kisses the side of your head before answering. "This is their natural length, but when necessary I can retract them further. It can be uncomfortable but it's worth it so I don't injure my partner during certain... activities." She says with a smirk.
You thread your fingers through hers and cuddle into Alcina with a giggle. Alcina nuzzles into you and kisses you on the head before letting out a sigh.
"Nooo." You whine, knowing what her sigh meant.
"I know draga, but we've been in bed all morning. I have a long list of things that need to be done today, including speaking with our prisoner."
Grumbling into her shoulder, Alcina lets out a laugh before pulling you close and kissing you one more time before throwing the covers off of the two of you.
You try with all of your might to hold Alcina down but she quickly overpowers you and flips you onto your back. She clicks her tongue at you as she leans down.
"Valiant effort my darling, but unfortunately you do not have the strength to overpower me just yet." Your bottom lip pushes out into a pout and she clicks her tongue at you again. "Oh, what's the matter my love? There is no pouting after such a wonderful morning." She says before leaning down and placing a chaste kiss on your lips.
Alcina sits up and gets out of bed, not before tapping you on the thigh, prompting you to get out of bed as well.
"Come now draga, we have many things to do today."
The two of you get dressed and make your way down to the dining room for breakfast. During your meal Alcina goes over what she has to do today with the girls and discusses what she wants to happen with the prisoner.
"After breakfast we will pay him a little visit. Draga, if you would like to join us you are more than welcome to, but you are under no obligation."
"I would like to come, but I can stay out of sight. I just want to see if he tells you everything."
"What do you mean by that?" Cassandra asks.
"Y/n here went and visited our prisoner yesterday."
"You went into the dungeon alone?!" Bela asks.
"And you didn't die??" Cassandra asks.
"Why would you do that?!" Daniela yells.
"Girls, that's enough. We already spoke about it last night. There is no need for you to interrogate her about it, but I appreciate your concern for her wellbeing." Alcina says before turning back towards you. "Draga you are more than welcome to stay within earshot if you would like and if you want to make an appearance you may do so."
"I just don't want to see him get hurt."
"We will make sure you are escorted out of the dungeon before any of that takes place."
"Thank you." You say with a smile.
"Of course, my love."
The rest of the meal flies by and as the time to go down to the dungeon gets closer, you slowly begin to lose your appetite.
The girls finish their meals and Alcina swirls the rest of her wine in her glass before downing it in one gulp.
"Alright girls, I believe it's time to go visit the prisoner."
"I can't wait to take a bite out of him." Cassandra says with hungry eyes.
"And you say I'm always hungry." Daniela mumbles.
"Because you are! You insatiable beast!" Cassandra snaps back.
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Girls. Enough. I need you to either take this seriously or you will not participate. Do you understand?" Alcina says with a stern look.
"Yes mother." They reply in unison.
"Ready, draga?" Alcina asks, reaching her hand out towards you.
You nod your head and take her hand in yours.
"As ready as I'll ever be, I guess."
"Then let us go."
Alcina leads you from the dining room towards the dungeon door. The closer you get the harder you feel your heart pounding in your chest. Bela, Cassandra and Daniela swarm down the stairs in a fit of excited giggles and Alcina stops at the top of the steps before kneeling down to your height.
"Are you sure you want to come, my love? I don't want you to feel pressured to be there."
"I know, but I want to. I have to. I just need to know-" you take a deep breath and Alcina nods at you, not needing you to finish your response. She knows why you feel like you need to come, that you need to see for yourself if he was as innocent as you thought he was - as you wanted him to be.
Alcina looks deeply into your eyes before pulling you in for a kiss. Immediately, your body relaxes into her touch and you smile into her. When your lips part Alcina stands back up and takes your hand in hers. She guides you through the dungeon door and you know there's no turning back now. You can only hope he tells them the truth - the whole truth. Not only does his fate hang in the balance, but so does the remainder of hope you've been clinging to.
"Well, here goes nothing." You say to yourself as you take the final steps towards the cell.

Read the warnings carefully....if you don't like my stories block me not report
I work in a cafe. I live alone in my apartment. My apartment was in an empty area. That's because that's the only appartment I got in my range. I don't have too much money to afford a good apartment .
Gojo Satoru was famous person in Tokyo. Everyone knows him. But nobody knows what he does. Is a good person or a bad person? Nobody knows. But everyone knows that he's a dengerous person. I also know his name. But never seen him. So how can I know he's stalking me...?
All of this started from the cafe. I was working. Suddenly the bell rang. I looked at the door. A tall handsome man entered. His eyes were blue, white hair. He was wearing a sunglass. His outfit was black. He came in and took a sit.
I went to his table and bow down."what would you like to have sir..?" I asked. "Nothing much... just a latte please " he replied with a charming smile. "Ok sir " I said and took his order. "And what's your name?" I asked. "Hmm?" He raised his eyebrows. "Your name....to write on the cup" I said. "Ohh... yeah.... it's Gojo Satoru " he replied. A beat skipped my heart as head his name. "Ok" I said and quickly went out of there.
I went in the maid counter. My hands were shaking. Did I just met and talked with Tokyo's most famous man?! Fuck I've heard that guy is scary... I shouldn't get too close to him. I thought. Then I bring him his order. "Here's your order sir" I said. "Oh... thanks" he replied with a smile.
That was the first time I saw him. Since then he was almost a regular coustomer. He came in the cafe almost two or three times in a week. He knew my name now. But I don't even try to get too close. I just do my work. Cause I don't want to get in any kind of trouble.
After few days... It was a normal day. Gojo came in cafe again. And he never ordered anything else... just latte. That was he's regular. So I don't even have to ask him his order. I bring him his order then went back to the counter. After finishing his latte he he went to pay the bill. "Here's the money" he said and handed me. " Thank you sir... please do come again" I said. "Umm...y/n... can I talk to you please?" He asked. "Sure" I replied. "I think you're really cute... can I have your number?" He asked with a smile. My heart skipped a beat. " I-i.... actually sir... I'm not interested... I'm s-sorry " I replied with shaking voice. His smile faded away. "Do you have any boyfriend?" He asked in serious tone. "N-No... it's not about having boy-" I was saying "do you like someone?" He cut me off with again his serious tone. "N-No " I replied. Suddenly his smile came back on his face. "It's okey...see you soon.... bye " he said. 'fuck I almost thought that he's gonna kill me' I thought. "B-bye sir"I replied.
Gojo's POV
I was walking on the road. I saw a cafe. I've never went to the cafe. I don't know what came in my mind I went in the cafe. I went to a empty table. A maid came to me. When I looked at her....GODDDDD!!!! IS SHE A FUCKING ANGEL?! She asked my name. She looked scared when she heard my name. I smirked at myself. Is she scared of me like those other peoples...? Well you don't have to be scared darling. I like you. I have fallen in love with you.... and when I tell myself something as mine... I make that mine...In. Any. Cost.
I have a great obsession with her. But never let anyone know that. Not anyone. I always stalk her everywhere.
I went to my room. I grabbed the door knob and opened it. I opened the door and went inside. I smirked at the view infront of me. That room's wall was full with y/n's pictures. Her pictures that I took every time I stalked her. I love her and I want her. I looked at the table in that room. I went to the laptop and opened it. I started playing all the footage of those cameras I set all over y/n's house. She's in her bathroom. I've seen her body so many times before. But God! I never get tired. "soon gonna feel that body, darling" I whispered.
A few days later. I went to the cafe again. Today I asked her for her number. But she rejected?! I asked her if she had a boyfriend or if likes someone. I know she doesn't but still I asked. She said no. I smiled. 'so she wants the hard way,huh?.... Fine!' I told myself and leave the cafe.
Y/n's POV
I just closed the cafe. It was dark at night and there was no one around to be seen. I was walking quietly when suddenly someone spoke. "I think its not good for a beautiful girl like you walk all alone at this hour. would you like me to take you home?" The voice said. When I looked beside me. It was Gojo.
He Smiled creepily at me as I notice a shadow of a knife on his hip. "Im a very gentleman person... you know and you don't need to be scared of me. Im just trying to help you get home." He said. My heart was pounding. I know he's a dengerous man... and I really don't want any trouble. "T-T-Thank you.....but I don't n-need your help" I said as I tried to walk first.
He starts to approach me. "So you rather choose walking alone than come with me? Dont you think you will be a easy target for someone to attack?" He said. I looked at the knife in his pocket. "Oh the knife..? Are you scared of that???" He said as he pulled out the knife from his pocket and threw it on the road. " I don't need any knife to have you " he said. And I looked at him confusedly. He suddenly put a cloth on my mouth and dragged me in his car.
When my eyes open again I was in my bedroom. But there wasn't any clothes on me. I started panicking. I looked beside me then I saw Gojo infront of me. He was taking off his clothes. I was about to get off the bed when Gojo grabbed my hand and pulled me harshly towards him. My back was on the bed and he climbed on top of me. " Where do you think you are going....huh??? " He said with a smirk. his hand slowly reaching up from my inner thigh. " Why don't you just relax darling..." he said and his hand reached my core. He pushed his middle and ring finger inside and started thursting in and out. "G-gojo stop" I moaned loudly. "Oh... You liked that?" He smirked at me.
He started thursting his finger in and out harshly. Looking at me and smiling like a psycho which make me froze in fear. "You like getting fucked by me right???? That's why you are squeezing my fingers like that!" He whispered in my ear. "S-stop....p-please.." I begged. He looked at me again. He paused his fingers. "Why did you rejected me huh? Do you know how much I love you? I stalked you everywhere you go.... I've cameras all over your house...I loveed you these much and you rejected me???...If I got you pragnent then you can't resist me right???!!!!" He said in a low voice.
"N-no.... n-no.... I don't want that... please" I begged him. He didn't even listen to me. I tried to push his chest but nothing. Gojo started licking on my nipple. He was being a tease. I moaned. He continued his teasing licking and sucking on my nipple. With his one hand he grabbed my other boob and squeezed it roughly. I scremed so loudly.
I tried to get off from the bed but he grabbed my leg and pulled me again in that place. He grabbed his dick stroked it two or three times then line it with my entrence. I began to panic. "Gojo Gojo .... please no .... G-gojo please no... Don't do this again please!!!" I begged him and tears started falling from my eyes but he didn't listen. "Call me Satoru.... You should call me by the first name, baby" he said kissing my cheeks.
Gojo pushed his whole length in one slide and I scremed with pain. He didn't even give me time to adjust his size and started thursting in and out roughly. I was screming loudly. His huge dick was giving me too much pain. He started giving me hickeys on my neck and chest. His thursting getting faster and harder. "This .... This is mine.... I wouldn't.... I wouldn't let anyone take it from me!!!!" He said between moans. My whole body was shaking. He was moaning too. The way his dick was touching my g-spot make my back arch. It didn't take much time and I came. As I came that smirk again played on his lips.
He was still thursting roughly. I felt his cock pulsing inside me. I tried to push him away with all of my strength." Ughh...no no no no...ahhhhhh...no please no....ahhhhhh..... n-not ahhhh.....not inside... please" I begged him. He grabbed my throat and chocked me down to the bed. Within a minute he came inside me I could feel his seed inside me. He pulled out and whispered in my ear with a smirk "I'm sure.... you'll be carrying my child". He whispered and fall beside me taking deep breaths.
" You are mine and just fucking mine. Don't ever dare to think of anyone else for a moment. Or else you know damn well what I'm gonna do." He whispered in my ear.
Give me your requests guys....
I love when you give me your requests đ

Guy Crimson & Diablo â Flirty Himbo Male Reader
đ.â˘Â°â˘.đ.â˘Â°â˘.đ.â˘Â°â˘.đ.â˘Â°â˘.đ.â˘Â°â˘.đ.â˘Â°â˘.đ.â˘Â°â˘.đ.
Okay! So after many many months, I have rewatched 'That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime' so that I can finally write and post this ask. If I'm being completely honest I'm pretty sure Guy wouldn't be too affected by flirting. Diablo too, probably. I'm sorry this took so long, I hope you like this, I did my best. âBennyđ°
                                                                                                  Â
đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đ
đš Well aren't you easy on the eyes. Consider this Primordial Demon Lord very interested. Guy can't help but wonder how in the world you're so muscular. He himself is quite physically fit, but you? Give him some tips will you, maybe you can work out together. Guy definitely won't mind the meal his eyes will be feasting on during that endeavor. Huh? Leon who? Not important at the moment, he's too busy getting an eye full of this hot ass man in front of him.
đš Guy certainly noticed that you aren't the sharpest sword in the armory and he finds it kind of hot. Don't get him wrong, he likes having intelligent conversation with people, but the way that you look at him when you have absolutely no idea what he's staying just does things to him. Guy can't really explain it too well, but having a handsome empty-headed boyfriend to go to in his free time is wonderful way to take a break.
đš Your lack of intellect also has him assuming that you don't actually mean the words that you say in they way that he interprets them. Guy doesn't think that you understand quite how much he's holding himself back from doing as he pleases with you. Usually he just watches you in amusement as you "tease" him, chuckling at how truly bold you were to behave in this way towards Guy of all people.
đš I don't believe that Guy is the flirting type. He's a strait foreword guy so even if a wild himbo appears and starts to flirt, he would get his message across pretty easily, no flirting needed. If he's interested, which in this case he would be, you would definitely know. To be honest, Guy wouldn't be fazed... Like, at all; considering how direct he is with Leon about how he's down to fuck. He would be really happy that someone that he thought was interesting was reciprocating for once, though.
đš You want to do him favors? Why? Guy has maids and underlings for something like that. However, he just chalks it up to being your love language and just let's you do simple things that he could easily do on his own. Like getting him something to eat or grabbing him that book off the shelf over there. Your his boyfriend, Guy's not really keen on sending you away to deal with anything major, he'll do that on his own.
đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đ
đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đ
đŚ Ah? Why hello there, handsome sir. Aren't you a sight for this primordial demon lord's eyes. Give him a little twirl so he can get a better look at you. But Diablo is a gentleman, so he will only permit himself to look respectfully. Very intensly; but respectfully. You don't mind, do you? Diablo really can't keep his gaze away no matter how hard he fights it. So forgive him, okay?
đŚ So you're a bit on the dim side? That's okay! Diablo will sit you down and describe anything you need him to in heavy detail. You don't need to worry your pretty little head about anything at all, he'll take care of it for you. Anything for you! Diablo wouldn't want you to think too hard, now. He doesn't want you to strain yourself. Just let him serve you as he does Lord Rimuru.
đŚ Now, Diablo knows he's handsome. It's not hard to understand considering the lingering gazes he gets from many people on the daily. However, this poor primordial demon lord was not prepared when the handsome man he had his eyes on started to flirt with him. Diablo couldn't help but be flustered; it was you who was showering him with compliments and innuendos instead of the other way around, after all.
đŚ While Diablo is a gentleman, he can certainly lay it on thick with the words of affirmation and occasional innuendos, but only when it comes to you. I like to think that he'd only return the favor in a private setting, he has an image to uphold. Such uncouth behavior is unbecoming of a butler like himself. But in all honesty, Diablo can let loose some raunchy shit when the time is right; the shit that comes out of this man's mouth could make even Guy Crimson blush a little.
đŚ No. He will not allow you to do any tasks or favors for him, that's his job; Diablo lives to serve and serving you is no exception. However, he will let do a few of the smaller tasks with him if you continue to insist. Acts of service are his love language so he prefer to do everything on his own, but if you sit him down and explain it to him Diablo will give you very small and simple things to do whenever he can.
đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đâ˘âĄâ˘đ
đ.â˘Â°â˘.đ.â˘Â°â˘.đ.â˘Â°â˘.đ.â˘Â°â˘.đ.â˘Â°â˘.đ.â˘Â°â˘.đ.â˘Â°â˘.đ.

Chapter II: A wonderful day for a wedding
Due to the warm night, it doesnât surprise you when dawn brings the most beautiful sunrise all year. The landscape outside is bathed in gold and when you gently guide a lost bee out of your bedroom window, you feel the warmth of the sunshine prickle your skin.
You have a great deal to do before the carriage ride to the Acacius estate, so you hurry through breakfast - bread and cheese with herbs - to make sure there are enough hours in the morning for your bath, your grooming, and your dress preparations.Â
You gently wash off the sweat and sleep from last night by rubbing slow circles down your arms, legs, and chest with a piece of soaked cloth. The excitement pools in your belly as you focus on the dream wedding belonging to the little girl in your heart happening today. The fact that it is arranged by your parents doesnât diminish the fact that your tunic is beautiful and the festivities will be worthy of the Gods. You have no tears and concerns for Cassius left, you say to yourself, or at least, youâre not allowing yourself to have any left.Â
âA perfect day for a wedding,â your mother says as she brings you more water for your bath instead of the maids, pouring the freshly hot water into the tub by your feet. Afterward, she moves to sit on a chair behind you to wash your hair.Â
âMother,â you say while she tilts your head forward, pouring water over the back of your neck, âI want jasmine flowers in the wedding crown, can we please have a maid pick some from the garden? Marcusâ I mean, General Acacius will be impressed if I remember our conversation from yesterday.âÂ
The warm water feels soothing as it cascades down your shoulders, even more soothing is your motherâs fingers detangling your hair with practiced care. You spot her in the full-body mirror along the wall, her face sporting an affectionate smile, âJasmine is his favorite? The General told you this? He must like you, my daughter.âÂ
âMother, we barely know each other,â you let out a little laugh and turn your head back to look up at her. She grins down at you, smoothing her palm over your wet hair to squeeze out some excess water.
âYet you already care what he thinks,â she points out with a slight hint of teasing. You splash a few drops of water in her direction and she acts outraged in only the way a mother can. The both of you laugh, the bubbling feeling warm in your chest until you also feel melancholic. The feeling that you should have had last night comes creeping up on you now.
âIâm gonna miss you and father,â you say softly and she wraps her arms around you from behind, not caring about getting her clothes wet if it means squeezing you enough to make you feel how much she loves you.
âIâve been through this two times already. You know we still see both of your sisters. I am not sending you off to another country,â she soothes, rocking you from side to side and pecking the top of your head. You reach up to hold her wrist.Â
âI know this but Iâm the last bird leaving the nest,â you reply with eye contact in the mirror, corners of your mouth turning downward. You sigh quietly.Â
âAnd father and I will finally be able to have some peace around here,â she tries to make you laugh again. When it doesnât happen, the tone of her voice changes into something more serious, âI know everything feels safe and familiar here but you will grow to love your new life. Change is good.â
âI still feel like a child,â you lean back into her and stare down at the water that is growing colder, âYou should have seen me trying to have a conversation with him yesterday. He is much older and more experienced than I am. I made a fool of myself not just once.â
âListen to me, dearest,â she releases you from the confines of her arms and lifts your head to find your gaze in the mirror again, âI know that this is not a matter of love. I understand, my dear. This union is a great responsibility, but it can also be an even greater source of joy and strength for you. Your father and I have always wanted whatâs best for you, even in situations where it might seem like it is only to our own advantage. Yet think about the possibilities this match will bring you; you will be the wife of a general. You can do anything.â
You nod with an understanding that is still marked by sorrow for the life you will leave behind, the dream of true love delivered by Cupid himself that will not be fulfilled now, âYes, Mother.â
âAnd I will say this with confidence,â she continues, now with a gleam of pride in her eyes, âYou are not a child, in fact, you have grown into a remarkable young woman. One that you can be very proud of. I know I am.â
A smile tugs at the corners of your mouth and eventually, you cannot hold back the breath of air that you have been holding. Your eyes are watery, your mouth grinning with teeth from being reassured so affectionately by your mother. You suppose that you can get through this day with those words playing on your mind, âYou had that rehearsed, did you not?â
âNot at all, came straight from the heart,â she giggles and gets up from her seat. She walks to stand at your side, offering you her hand, âNow, letâs get you out of the tub and make you more beautiful than even Goddess Venus herself. Today is a celebration of everything youâve become and everything you will achieve with your husband. However, remember that General Acacius is even more fortunate to have you and your heart by his side.â
âThank you, Mother,â you say as she helps you to your feet, holding you steady as you step over the edge of the bathtub.Â
She wraps a linen cloth around you, âIâll send for the flowers right away. The tailor has already been with your tunic this morning, Iâve had the maids hang it in your room.âÂ
âPerfect,â you smile. You leave the bathroom while another ancilla - a maid - empties the tub, hangs the linen towel to dry, and mops excess water from the floor.Â
As you make your way back to your bedroom, you notice your home is abuzz with servants doing all sorts of tasks to ensure a perfect day. They pass you with kind smiles and congratulations, carrying wine in jugs and baskets of fruit and vegetables, freshly baked bread, and flowers for decorating.Â
You think back to Marcusâ beautiful garden, wondering how it is taking shape to be the venue for your union. The red roses are sure to compliment your red veil, the marble the golden embroidery on your tunic too.Â
But then, as you enter your room, you think about Cassiusâ words from last night. In less than a day, you will belong to one of the most powerful families in all of the empire and despite this, it sounded like it did not ensure you the safety that your father had foreseen with this match. Quite the contrary, it seems like you are getting into something thatâll wash the pink and fluffy clouds away.Â
However, the concerned thoughts last only a moment as your gaze falls on the beautiful tunic hanging on the wall, just out of the sunâs rays. You smile and sigh, brushing the woven fabric delicately with your hand. It is long and white, embroidered with squared patterns along the shoulder seams and down the short sleeves. You know that Marcusâ own attire will have the same stitching and color, signaling that the two of you are weaved together from now on.Â
The veil hangs beside it and is as red as the fires that you have seen built for sacrifices to the Gods. Your mother has taught you enough during wedding preparations for you to know exactly what it is supposed to symbolize; you will be given to General Acacius today and you will belong to him in the same manner as the many gifts that have been given to the many Roman deities, like the coin you tossed in the fountain for Fortuna.Â
After taking the tunic off the hook on the wall, you let the linen around your body fall to the floor and slip your wedding attire on. You sit down on the chair by your vanity and gaze at your reflection in the mirror, staring at the woman you have become in such a short time.
You adjust the neckline of the garment, smoothing out any crease that makes you seem less than perfect and then you grab your hairbrush to start detangling your hair. After having brushed your hair for a while and getting lost in the mindless task, a knock on your door distracts your thoughts.Â
You quickly get up to hurriedly step behind the room divider in the corner, not wanting to reveal your look before it has gotten its final touches or in case the person seeking entry is your father.Â
âCome in,â you say when you are hidden from view.Â
However, it is your mother again who carries the wedding crown, which has now gotten beautiful jasmine flowers weaved into it. From the sound of the different footsteps, you deduce that she is followed by two servant girls who have come to help you with the remaining details of your outfit.
âI brought Lupa and Nidia to help you,â she chirps, hands the wedding crown to Lupa with the utmost care, and then gently sits down on the chair by the vanity. She waits as the girls join you behind the screen, âQuickly now, we have to be ready to go in half an hour.â
Nidia has gotten the veil from its spot on the wall, now draping it over the top of your head while Lupa secures it with the flower crown. You can smell the jasmine, feel the soft fabric of the red veil brush your bare arms, and suddenly, the weight of today begins to bear down on your shoulders. You swallow thickly as you look at yourself in the full-body mirror. This summer has changed you since you got the news of your arranged union, and suddenly, as you look at yourself at this moment, you are surprised to see that a bride stares back at you.Â
âYou look perfect,â Nidia says softly as if sensing your nervousness. She holds your gaze in the mirror and smiles a little when Lupa joins in with a happy, agreeing nod, the both of them adjusting the veil to cascade down your back gracefully.Â
âThank you,â you say gratefully and relax a bit more. At least how you look is going to be talked about the most but then again, will this enhance your future husbandâs desire? What will happen when he gets you alone in his chambers? You shake the thought, not used to the idea of being perceived in such a fashion even if you tasted the idea yesterday, âOkay, I think I am ready.â
As you step out from behind the divider, your mother radiates maternal pride and clasps her hands together, âOh, by Venus, you are radiant! I donât know what your father was doing with all his worry.â
You try not to overthink that statement and act casual, very much aware that you have not seen him today. Instead, you ask, âWhere is father?âÂ
âHe has gone back and forth between our home and the Generalâs many times today. I suppose that he wants everything to be perfect for you and make you happy,â she keeps her voice high-pitched and cheerful but you can feel your gut telling you that she isnât completely convinced either. She may have been making jest of you being the last of her daughters to marry but you know that your father sees you as more of a chess piece - the final move out of three - than his blood.
In your wedding attire, sparkling as Lupa gets the box of jewelry and Nadia adorns you in gold, you think again of the way your father had handled the negotiations of your marriage; how little concern he had shown for your thoughts on the matter, and, possibly without intending to, made it clear that this isnât about love or even your happiness. It is about influence, power, and ascension to something right under the Gods.
âHeâs always wanted things to be perfect for us,â you say with a forced smile, though your mother doesnât seem to notice the strain on your face, âEver since we were little, it was always about making sure we made the right connections, the right alliances.â
Your mother looks up at you, not quite as oblivious as she tries to convince you of. Her smile softens, âItâs just his way, my dear. He wants the best for you, for all of us, and you like the General! I can tell.â
The best for him, perhaps. You dare ask a question that can only exist between women who understand that you live in a world ruled by men. âMother, do you think he would have arranged this if General Acacius had been⌠cruel?â
The silence that follows is thick, and in that moment, you realize that the answer may not be one you want to hear. You stare at her, brows furrowed as you wait for her to say something, but in the end, she avoids your gaze completely.Â
âIt is time to leave,â she says instead and turns to Lupa and Nidia who have gone completely quiet, âMy daughter needs escorting to the carriage. We cannot keep my husband waiting so close to the time of the ceremony.â
You swallow thickly but do not protest, a heavy feeling in your stomach as you are led out of your home, taking in the details of the surroundings that you grew up in for what feels like the last time.
â
Upon arrival at Marcus' estate, you are greeted by who you assume will be your new maid. Ismene is her name, a woman not much older than yourself but with rougher hands, the kind that have known hard labor. She wears a plain tunic and her hair tied back in a braid, curtsying as you step out of the carriage.Â
You hear your mother tell Lupa and Nidia to stay back in case itâll insult Ismene that you have brought maids from your home but Ismene just smiles, her eyes flicking up at you as she bows to catch a glimpse of who she will be serving from now on.Â
âMy lady,â she greets after stretching to her full height again, a twinkle in her gaze and a gut feeling telling you that she has no ill will towards you, âEverything is ready for you. The General has requested that you go to the gardens immediately where the ceremony will take place shortly.âÂ
She leads you and your mother through the mansion that is as beautiful as you remember it from yesterday. Except this time, seemingly overnight, the home has been decorated to be fit for festivities later. Your mother walks beside you, her expression calm, but you know her enough by now to sense the tension beneath the surface. She glances around the estate with careful eyes, not having been here before since your father refused it, and is perhaps judging the wealth and power of the man you are about to marry. Maybe, she may even be worrying for you.
You must screen your face from the sun in the gardens, but you still cannot help but notice the red roses and the ivy snaking their way around the columns that surround the spot chosen for the ceremony. Their colors are striking and beautiful against the white marble, eliciting a gasp of awe from your mother. What you also cannot help but notice is the return of the flutter of excitement that stirs in your belly, one that feels out of place among your adult worries. Everything is even more gorgeous than you had imagined in your childhood daydreams.Â
âItâs beautiful, truly. The Gods have indeed favored us,â your mother praises in a whisper just as the three of you come to a halt. Ismene has stopped in her tracks just out of sight from the guests who are here to witness the marriage, and she is deliberately quiet to give you and your mother this last brief moment of privacy before everything changes.Â
Your mother reaches out to gently touch your arm. In response, you turn to her and are met with her warm and reassuring smile. She cups your face and kisses your forehead.Â
âRemember that father and I raised you to be strong,â she tells you with tears welling up in her eyes. You can feel your heart beating harshly against your chest as you recognize both fear and excitement on her face, and you suppose that thereâs grief in her following this; her last child leaving home will be the end of her being needed.Â
âTe amo in aeternum, Mamma (I love you forever, Mom),â you only just manage to say as your throat feels tight and you can hear footsteps approaching.Â
You know it is your father by the commanding pace of the steps, the way the feet strike the earth with determination. He rounds the corner with a small smile on his lips as he sees you.Â
âMy beautiful daughter,â he greets you and immediately holds his arm out for you to take. Thereâs urgency in his voice even if it is tender at the sight of you, âIt is time.â
âAre you ready?â Your mother interrupts, earning a glance from her husband. His presence somehow looms larger after that question, as if he wants to scoff at the thought that you could ever say no. He shakes his arm with an impatient smile when you still have not taken his arm. Clearly, this is not a moment for lingering but a moment for you to fulfill your duty.
You swallow hard and then you turn to your father. With a nod, you place your arm through his, âIâm ready.â
âThen let us not keep the General waiting,â he smiles.
The wedding ceremony is swift and takes place underneath the blazing sun of Rome. Marcus Acacius stands at the altar, his tall and broad figure exuding strength and importance. You feel drawn to the way he looks as he watches you walk down the pathway between the guests, stoic and calm in an attire that matches yours. You feel reassured by him because of this strength, that if everything fails, he will catch you.
When you stop in front of him and your father nods in a way that feels transactional, you swear that you can see his eyes soften. The officiant drones on but you donât hear a word, the thoughts of last night when you were alone in your bed flooding your mind and causing your heartbeat to drown out noise around you. You can still feel the warmth of your own touch between your legs and itâs so consuming of your attention that you suddenly hear someone clearing their throat.Â
âWe will now perform the joining of hands, dear,â the officiant repeats and you can see that Marcus is already holding out his palm for you to place your own in. Your face is hot, your cheeks prickling with embarrassment but you recover by not letting it faze you. Marcus smiles ever so gently when your hand takes his and a leather band is wrapped around them. You say your promise to him like you have practiced so many times in the mirror back in your room.
Where he is your Gaius, you will be Gaia. Mother nature. The first goddess. The one who made sense of chaos.Â
âUbi tu Gaius, ego Gaia.â
â
In the early evening, the festivities begin with a banquet that makes the ones your father has hosted in the past pale in comparison. Thereâs people and food and people eating the food everywhere. Goblets get continuously filled by servants and bread with oil, butter, and cheese gets restocked as soon as it might look like serving platters are emptying out. However, it is not envy that you see on your parentsâ faces as they take in the long table that abounds in the seasonâs most beautiful flowers laid out in rich displays of colors, or the most expensive foods that are replenished before anyone can take notice of their shortages, but rather pride in your motherâs eyes and some sort of distasteful greed in your fatherâs.
It makes you think of Cassius again, the idea of his stomach growling as he makes his way home from laboring in the fields surrounding your village. He would hate this, you think to yourself, the sight of the uppermost elite of society stuffing their faces but not for nourishment.
You look down at your hands when you start to feel bad for thinking of another man while sitting right next to your new husband. Yet Marcus doesnât seem to notice the way your shoulders slump. He smiles warmly at each congratulations that he receives while you sit at the end of the same long table and youâre surprised to see that it comes off as genuine each time. He graciously lifts his goblet of wine as thanks, nodding to the faces of men his own age who approach with offerings and gifts. Youâve seen them steal glances at you when they think others havenât noticed.Â
You wonder if Marcus has, if he feels triumphant or enraged by the lingering appreciative stares that you receive right before they go back to their wine.Â
It is to be expected with how beautiful your mother has made you for this day, you say to yourself in your new state as an object of desire, but still, you are without much appetite from being stared at. It makes you think of your wedding night and the duty that lies within it. As a comfort, you reach for your goblet of wine frequently throughout the evening and completely ignore the delicious smell of roasted meats and the sight of shiny green grapes and berries that you have on your plate. Right now, they make you feel sick.Â
Sensing your discomfort, Marcus holds his hand up to stop an approaching guest and turns his attention to you. His gaze follows the movement of your hand as you lift the goblet to your slightly-stained lips once more. Gently, he reaches out and covers your hand with his, taking the cup away from you.
âNo more wine. I donât want you to feel unwell on our night together,â he says simply and firmly but thereâs affection in his command, a concern for your wellbeing. Itâs the first time that you see a glimpse of the man you met yesterday. He makes you fold quickly, nod with embarrassment as you in return stare sheepishly at him while he sets down the goblet out of your reach.Â
âOf course, my legatus,â you hurry to say, remembering how your mother had urged you to show respect by referring to his rank. You offer him a hesitant smile, âYouâre right.â
âI know this is not easy for a maiden as young as you, and I must admit that it is all very overwhelming even for me,â he gives you a smile in return, allowing himself to show brief vulnerability to ease your mind, âBut thereâs no need to dull your senses, Carrissima.â
âIt was not my intention to make you feel like I was unappreciativeââ
âI did not think you were,â he interrupts before you can tear yourself down in an effort to humble yourself. He places a hand on yours underneath the table, âAre you pleased with the celebration? I never notice if others are enjoying the festivities. I admit I seek solitude more often than company in these situations.â
âIt is beautiful, Iâve never seen anything like it,â you reply with a nod and realize that you find the conversation less terrifying now. You blame your ease on the amount of wine you have already consumed, âIf you want reassurance, a woman can always tell if people are enjoying themselves.â
âAnd what is your verdict?â Marcus brushes his thumb over the back of your hand. You hide the shiver that goes up your spine, breathe deeply to steady your heart after it has skipped at least a few beats. He must know what his touch does to you after feeling it yesterday.
A burst of laughter from a table nearby catches both of your attention. A group of guests are engaged in lighthearted discussions, chatting cheerfully with each other and getting up when the musicians strike up a song made for dancing.Â
You observe them for a moment before turning back to Marcus again, but before you can answer, a man approaches your table with what you assume is more congratulations. You make a mental note to be more present in this, to show your husband and his guests that you are in favor of the union. However, the man leans in close to Marcus, whispering something in his ear.Â
You notice a subtle shift in Marcusâs demeanor; the previous warmth in his eyes momentarily replaces itself with a focused seriousness. He nods at the messenger, who quickly slips away into the crowd before you can even register what he looks like.
âIs everything all right?â You ask with curiosity and concern.Â
âYes, nothing to worry about. Just a small matter that needed my attention. I apologize for the interruption,â he assures you but hardly satisfies your curiosity. The seriousness vanishes completely in favor of softness as soon as he looks at you again, âForgive me for forgetting but I must compliment the jasmine flowers in your wedding crown. They suit my bride perfectly.â
The sudden change in his tone makes your heart flutter, and you realize how intentional his words are, as if to draw you back into the moment with him. You reach up to feel the soft petals of the flowers with your fingertips. You smile genuinely at him, shy from the compliment, âIt was already weaved this morning but I remembered you mentioning that jasmine is your favorite.â
He raises an eyebrow, âYou remembered our conversation.â
âI wanted to show that I was attentive,â you reply, feeling a connection that wasnât there just a moment before.
âYouâve certainly succeeded,â he replies with a pleased grin at being surprised by you.
The sunset has crept up on you while you have been in conversation with Marcus for a while, the plate in front of you suddenly having been emptied by you without much thought. You only register the darkness of the night when guests have started to get up from their seats to say goodbye and go home, and panic starts to rise in your throat when the crowd thins out enough for Marcus to send the rest home.Â
You've known this night would come, and yet as you get up from your seat, standing right in the middle of all the many tables, it feels like it is brand new information that comes hurtling towards you and frightens you even further.Â
With a lump in your throat, you watch the last few faces take their leave, observing how Marcus says goodbye to what you assume are the most important guests.Â
When everything is quiet except for the servantsâ footsteps, your parents approach you. Your mother is the first to talk, her eyes glistening with pride.Â
âMy dear, itâs been a wonderful celebration,â she says, gently squeezing you in an embrace. âWeâre so happy for you.â
âThank you, Mother. Iâm so grateful you were here to share it with me,â you reply, accepting her embrace warmly and almost desperately due to your anxiety. You can feel her tense up when she realizes that you are hugging her to soothe yourself but she doesnât say anything.Â
Your father stands by quietly. He only nods approvingly when Marcus joins the three of you, âA splendid event. Weâre confident our daughter is in good hands.â
Marcus bows his head respectfully, âYou have my word that she is.â
Your father turns to you, his expression of importance softening just a bit, âRemember what weâve taught you, my daughter. Honor and family are paramount.â
âI understand, Father,â you assure him, avoiding his eyes. The surprisingly cool interaction between father and daughter catches Marcusâ attention, and the step he takes closer to you is almost unnoticeable. You feel his arm accidentally brushing yours but you swear that thereâs a sort of protectiveness in the featherlight touch even if it is unintentional. It makes exchanging farewells easier.
âPerhaps we should retire as well,â he suggests when your parents are out of sight, âGoddess Nox has already spread her veil across the sky for a while.â
"Yes, I suppose it is time,â you glance up at the stars above, feeling the cool night air against your skin. You wish he would ground you like before.
The both of you make your way to your shared chambers. The short walk feels longer than it should, the weight of the moment pressing down on you with each step. You glance at your husband as he walks beside you, his calm and steady demeanor sharply in contrast with the growing nervousness inside you. The walls of the corridor are lined with flickering torches, and they seem to stretch on endlessly. Though nothing lasts forever and eventually you come to a halt, the door in front of you leading you to your wedding night.
This is it.

End of Hard Mode.
Ready to meet chapter 156?
Although for readers of the novel who were waiting for the legendary scene of this arc, they didn't get it in today's chapter... but damn! This chapter is equally full of emotions!
Do you think the first frame is Penelope's reaction to Derrick bringing Ivonne? Oh no, dear readers, you're forgetting about Penelope's eternal tormentor... the system's notification.
What she worked so hard for, dripping with sweat and blood, is a mls' affection score.
All the men have their % down, but Derrick and Eckles have -20%, while Callisto, Reynold, and Winter have -10%
What strikes me is how the locks on the first two are completely dark. I'm so glad that SUOL-nim decided to make similar details in the third season. Agree, it looks beautiful and interesting.
What about men? And they are all frankly shocked (can understand them). At least they were struck by the laughter of Penelope, who is aware of her position.
But Penelope is just a goddess. I give a standing ovation, take the Oscar from Ivonne and Eckles to give to her.
She announces that it is true that her only older sister, the Duke's true daughter, has returned. Of course, Duke Eckhart wants to deny something, but Penelope makes an innocent but deliberate statement:
"But it's my birthday, father..."
His words hang in the air, and my breath catches in anticipation. And you know... I'm pleasantly surprised to see this face:
As you can see, there is now a conversation between Penelope and Ivonne, during which another glass is brought. Not one of the servants, but this lovely maid.
Oh, so you see that breathy blue glow in her eyes, too? After that, she definitely won't inspire confidence. Meet Becky, dear readers!
Tumblr limits the number of images but also explains the moment with the poison Penelope ordered from Winter. It was a kind of way to escape into the real world after finishing hard mode, as I understood from the Korean translator (sorry, I sometimes forget such details-)
And of course, the golden glow of Penelope's necklace does not go unnoticed not only by Penelope but also by Ivonne.
Our clever girl immediately understands that the glass in Ivonne's hands contains poison.
It will be a big scene if the duke's real daughter, who was "locked alone in a room and hidden from everyone" on the fake daughter's birthday, suddenly gets poisoned, right?
"...Ivonne, you're holding not your glass."
But both of them can play this game. And Penelope knew exactly how to take advantage of the other's confusion when the necklace never stopped shining with a yellow glow.

Hey, I really like your story so keep up the good work. Can you do a story about gardener turned maid x Donna. She and Donna were childhood friends, (y/n) always plays with Donna when she was a child. (y/n) also has a hard pass, she was only adopted by the previous gardener but never really took care of her but she sees him as her father anyway. (y/n) is always alone and seeks solace around Donna. When Donna's parents died she shut herself out and which made her feel even more alone. But then the lady got out and asked if she could ve her maid. This is also and excuse to be close to her again because she always admired and loved (y/n) from afar. They got closed again then (y/n) stole a kiss from Donna. Donna got angry and left. They haven't talk for days but she confess to her that she loves (y/n) as well. They were happy until one time (y/n) felt a pain in her chest, it's so painful that she loss consciousness while tending the garden, Donna became worried and took her to her room. (y/n) woke up and looked at herself in the mirror, what she saw is horrible. A giant lump is growing on her chest and some nerves are visible from it to the neck and it's dark. Donna told her it was a cadou. (y/n) demanded answers from her and Donna just told her everything what mother miranda told her during her implantation and that it's been killing her to keep that from her lover. She wanted to confront miranda to get some answers on her own. Donna told her it wasn't a good idea because she will die. Then night came and (y/n) and kissed Donna goodbye while she's asleep because there is was never really a happy ending for the both of them. She confronted miranda to get some answers, they fought while miranda was telling her that she was a failed experiment.
Good ending - Donna found her and treated her wounds and they were together again
Bad ending - Donna found her body the next day dead. Years later she still mourned for her and that she slowly looses her sanity because of it.
Note: I'm sorry it is very long but I trust that you could make a story out of this and also English isn't my first language either. And write both of the ending to give the readers some perspective about the 2 endings. Thank you
Yess!!! It's a very good plot, thank you!!! Well, I don't like bad endings, so I chose the good one. You said that you wanted the two of them and... Well, I'm going to post it later if you're okay with that!!! Anyway, thank you for your request!!! I hope you like it and sorry about the language mistakes!!! :))))
The friend you were used to be
Pairing: Donna Benviento x Fem! Reader
Warnings: angst, dark themes, mentions of abuse, Donna being Donna, fluff, blood, Cadou, Reader POV
Word count: 10,077
Summary: Sometimes life is so unfair...
N/A: Sorry about the language mistakes!! Requests are open, I'm waiting for yours!! I love you all!!! :)))
The pain is almost unbearable. My hands are unable to contain the blood that flows from my wound. I scream, I cry, but no one listens to me, there is no one in this dark place. Thinking that it would be the day of my death does not scare me, I was the one who went to that place. It was me who chose the day of my death, and not her. With an exhausting effort, I manage to turn around and look at the full moon through the rubble of the underground cathedral.
âSuch a magnificent view,â I say, closing my eyes, breathing in pain. My bandages are torn and my soul is condemned. How did I get here? Why did my life have to end like this?
Pointless questions when the darkness is so close. I once heard someone say that when you were about to die, you might be able to see your life flashing before your eyes. It's certainly not something I feel like doing. If I have to die, let it be remembering you, my love, the only light that made me keep hope. But I feel the need to go back, to when this started...
20 years agoâŚ
âAnd then I found a cave with a lot of strange black trees,â I said, talking about that little walk around the village.
âA cave?â My friend, Donna, asked, listening to me curiously while we played tea with her doll.
âYes, yes, a huge and very deep cave,â I reaffirmed, pretending to take a sip from my empty toy cup.
It was an afternoon like many others, at the house of my friend, my only friend, Donna Beneviento.
My father, or rather, the man who called himself my father, worked for her family as a gardener. We lived isolated on the grounds of the Beneviento estate, almost as long as I can remember. Apparently, I was adopted shortly after birth.
I didn't care much about my origin either, not even that this man, Josef, didn't bother to pretend that he loved me. There was only one thing I liked to do, and that was to spend the afternoons with Donna.
She was four years older than me, she was 12 and I was 8. Despite that difference, nothing prevented us from playing with the dolls, talking, or laughing, like girls, like real friends. I couldn't blame her for seeking refuge in my friendship. She had her own problems. According to my father, she was an isolated, lonely and strange girl, who never left the grounds, who never spoke to anyone.
Maybe it was because of the lack of her right eye, which left a striking scar on her face, or maybe it was because she simply wasn't interested in humans. Whatever the case, Donna and I were friends. She needed me, and I needed her.
âSo⌠What happened to you?â Donna asked, well, Angie, the doll that her father made for Donna so that she wouldn't feel so terribly alone. She was one more friend, even if it was only imagination.
âWell, I tripped, fell on a rock and fainted,â I said, putting my hand to the area of ââmy chest that was still burning.
âYou fainted?â The brunette asked, lying on the floor with her hands on her chin, listening attentively to my story.
I nodded, lying down too.
âI was unconscious for hours, until I woke up, outside the cave.â
âThat's a lie!â Angie screamed, to which I clearly got angry.
It's not a lie,â I protested in a childish manner, of course.
âDo you have any proof?â the older girl asked, looking at me suspiciously.
âWell yes, I have proof,â I said, showing the strange scar on my chest. âLook, DonnaâŚâ
âWow... Does it hurt ?â She asked, reaching out towards the scar, changing distrust for curiosity. I shook my head, covering myself again.
âSometimes,â I said, feeling good about the attention I had drawn from my friend.
âDonna, è l'ora delle tue lezioni,â  Mrs. Beneviento's voice interrupted us, making Donna grimace in disgust.
âMa mamma, stavo giocando con (Y/N)â the older girl protested, getting up and picking Angie up from its small chair.
âNo complaints, Donna, besides, (Y/N)'s father will be worried, it's late,â the adult woman said, pointing to me. I woke up a little disappointed because of how short the afternoon had been. âGo home, it's getting dark and itâs dangerous.â
I protested with my eyes and nodded. After all, my father's job depended on them.
âYes, ma'am,â I said politely, bowing my head respectfully. Donna's mother smiled tenderly at me, putting a hand on my back to guide me out.
â(Y/N),â the girl called to me, holding Angie in her arms. âWill you come tomorrow?â
âSure,â I said, smiling as she said goodbye to me with a shy wave of her hands.
I wish I had known. I wish I had known that would be the last time I would play with my friend Donna. The next day I didn't go to her house, she didn't come to see me. That same night, something terrible happened.
Donna's parents died, both of them, jumping off the cliff that was right next to her house. Terrible, unexpected news.'
I remember the funeralâŚI remember how Donna couldn't stop crying.
A 12-year-old girl didn't have to have experienced that, it was unfair.
The following days were even worse. My father told me that Donna needed to be alone. Alone? A 12 year old girl alone in that big house? My mind couldn't understand it. As Donna's only friend, as an 8-year-old who wants to see her friend smile, I headed there for weeks.
âDonna, let's play,â I said, knocking on the door, waiting for an answer that wasn't a sob.
âI don't want to play,â a broken voice came from inside the house. âGo away, (Y/N)â
âCome on, Donna, please... Being alone is so boring. Look, I brought Mr. Whiskers, Angie's boyfriend. I'm sure she missed him,â I said in a childish, almost pleading voice. I couldn't lose Donna. It may have been a selfish feeling but, after all, I was only 8 years old.
âI don't want to play with you!â Donna screamed, desperate, which made me squeeze the doll tightly in my hands. âGo away!â
It didn't matter how many times I insisted, how many times I cried begging for a little time with her. I didn't see her again. Donna forgot about me, but I never, ever forgot about her.
Little by little I got used to her absence, to my loneliness. The months, the years passed slowly and I grew up alone, next to a man who didnât take care of me, always leading my gaze to that place to which I never returned.
14 years agoâŚ
âFather!â I screamed, covering my face with my hands. The blizzard intensified and made to walk properly impossible for me. âHurry, we have to protect the house!â
It had been 6 years since I last saw Donna. She was a woman, not a girl. 14 years was not too many, but it was enough for new feelings to appear to torment me. Envy corroded me...
During all that time, only my father had been lucky enough to get close to the Beneviento estate, only he was allowed to take care of Donna. No matter how much I insisted, I couldn't do it. My father said that she was a strange girl, that it wasn't good for me to be around or disturb her, that Donna was only his responsibility, and not mine.
I tried to escape several times, stupidly thinking that I would be able to see her again, to talk to her after so many years. I didn't do it, I couldn't do it.
But that afternoon there were other problems to worry about. A terrible blizzard hit the place mercilessly, causing us to have to reinforce our house, nailing wooden planks to the windows.
âStay here!â My father shouted, when he nailed the last plank.
âNo, father, don't go!â I said, grabbing his arm.
âI have to see if Miss Donna is safe! Obey, (Y/N)!â He ordered me, breaking away from my grip and causing me to fall to the ground.
âFather, wait!â I shouted, standing up as best I could.
Donna could be in danger. That was the only thing I thought about as I crawled through the snow, feeling thousands of ice blades dig into my skin. I could barely walk for a few minutes. The road was blurry. There was no sign of my father, I wasn't even able to tell where I tripped and fell again, sinking into the snow.
âHelp!â I shouted. It was useless. My screams were drowned out by the wind, by the snow, by the nervous crows trying to take shelter.
My vision cleared and then⌠Then I saw it.
A black figure was walking towards me. It looked like a woman, or something like a woman. Her walk was slow, elegant. She was carrying something in her arms. No, not something, it was someone. When she got close enough, my heart almost stopped.
Mother Miranda, protector of the village, its supreme authority, was right in front of me. The priestess clothing stood out against the snow, the golden tones of her mask made her look like a bird, something similar to a crow. In her arms, there was a young woman. Someone I couldn't recognize until she was too close.
That scar, that black hair⌠Donna Beneviento.
The one who was once my best friend was resting in Miranda's arms. She seemed unconscious, or something worse.
I tried to move, to reach out my hand towards her, but the cold prevented me to do so. The priestess's footsteps were already distinguishable on the ground. It was impossible for her not to have seen me.
She walked past me, carrying Donna in her arms. The blizzard didn't seem to be a problem for her at all.
"Donna..." I sighed, crawling a little as the figure slowly moved away from me. Miranda paused, perhaps out of pity, perhaps out of annoyance. She didn't help me, I barely felt her gaze on mine. What I did feel was her smile through that golden mask.
Miranda looked at me and I looked at her. Her figure remained completely oblivious to the snow and Donna seemed nothing but a dead weight in her arms.
I could hear her laughter, even today I would be able to swear that a terrible laugh came from the priestess. Slowly, she turned her head away from me again walking down the path. It had been 6 years without seeing Donna and I still wanted to save her, attack the priestess and take her to a safe place.
Miranda was good, or so they said. I never believed it. Seeing her was just a bad omen.
As time went by, I began to believe that this was just a dream, a mirage that the blizzard created for me. I soon realized that it was not.
âAdopted?â I asked, at one of the silent meals with my father. The man who didn't love me nodded, enjoying the food he forced me to make for him.
âMother Miranda has taken pity on Miss Donna, she is her daughter now,â he explained, already drinking her second glass of wine.
âI don't understand. When I saw her, she seemed unconscious, she seemed...â
âAre you questioning Mother Miranda?â The man asked, abruptly, hitting the table with his fist. I backed away scared. In recent years, the behavior of the man who claimed to be my father had become unsustainable.
âNo, father, I'm just saying that...â
âShut your mouth and bring more wine! Don't dare to question Mother Miranda, (Y/N), not in this house.â
I nodded, with tears in my eyes. I still didn't understand anything. I still had a lot of unanswered questions. At least Donna was fine, better than ever according to my father. That's what he said. It had been too long since I had seen her, too long...
12 years agoâŚ
Life continued its course. I, already 16 years old, had become accustomed to solitude, to the few pieces of the outside world that Josef told me about. That man was never my father. I would no longer call him as such. Hits, screams and beatings those were the summary of my existence, too much for a young girl like me.
I had no news about Donna. I didn't know what had happened to her, why Miranda had adopted her. I didn't know anything and the worst thing... The worst thing was that I cared less and less. Surviving Josef's wrath was the most important thing.
âYou are a worthless girl!â The man shouted, hitting me hard on the cheek. âYou are worthless!â
âFather, please, please, stop...â I begged crying, falling to the floor.
Alcoholism took away the little that was left of humanity in him. That morning, the idea of ââgetting out of there was more present in my mind than ever.
âYou will never be my family!â He shouted, stating a truth that I already knew. He had a family, his family died, he adopted me. That was the sum of his demons. I would never be his daughter. He would never be my father.
âI don't want to be your family!â I screamed furiously, struggling with his arms so he wouldn't hit me again. Taking advantage of his obvious state of intoxication, I managed to push him, to throw him to the floor with a thud.
âStupid little girl...â He hissed, just when I was able to stand up. âYou are going to pay for this!â
Josef pounced on me, ready to end everything, to kill me, to make me pay for having had to take care of me all those years. I, for the second time in my life, thought that it was the end, that it was the end of my disastrous life.
Just when his hands were about to make me gasp for breath, his gaze went from fury to bewilderment, relaxing his attempt to strangle me.
âLiza...â He murmured, as if he had heard something, as if someone had spoken to him. âWhere are you?â
âWhat?â I asked, catching my breath.
Josef left the house like a wandering soul, looking for something that apparently only he was able to see.
âYes... I will meet you,â the man said, walking towards the old estate, with a lost look.
It could have been a good opportunity to disappear from that place, but I didn't. Something strange was happening to Josef.
âFather?â I asked, trying in vain to put a hand on his shoulder, which he pushed away with a grunt.
âI'm coming, LizaâŚâ He murmured again. âYes, at the waterfall.â
âWaterfall?â I asked, scared by what that meant. âFather, waitâŚâ
My attempt to stop him was even worse. He turned around, pushing me to the ground roughly. The only thing I could do was to watch as that man disappeared into the fog.
I sat under a tree, thinking about why I would want to save my father, who wasn't my father. I guess I was always stupid. I breathed relief and cried at the same time. For some reason, I knew I would never see him again.
When I raised my head from my knees, something scared me. A hand, a pale hand extended towards me. It was attached to a woman's body, dressed entirely in black, from head to toe, wearing a strange veil that hid her face.
The smell of her lavender and the softness of her hands were enough to know who I had in front of me. Donna.
I sobbed and used her hand to get up.
âIt's all over, (Y/N)â a hoarse voice that came out of that veil whispered. It had nothing to do with that sweet voice from years ago. She was already a woman.
âWhat?â I said confused, blinking several times to make sure that what I was seeing was real, that Donna Beneviento, missing for years, was in front of me. âDonna⌠Is that you?â
The woman nodded slowly, moving away from my arm, which reached out toward her as if trying to fulfill a wish, something I had hoped to do for years.
âMy God... Donna,â I sobbed, unable to contain all that torrent of feelings I felt when I saw her again, throwing myself into her arms. âIt has been so longâŚâ
She didn't hug me back, she just gasped in surprise, going completely still.
â(Y/N),â she whispered, again with that hoarse voice, forcing me to move away from her. I cried, I cried with emotion, with joy at seeing my only friend again.
âI thought... I thought you had... Oh, my goodness, Donna...â I stammered, remembering all the moments I had lived with her, all the laughter, the games, the teas with the Angie doll. My entire childhood was before my eyes.
âYou're safe now,â she said, clearing her throat, with that same stoic pose, without making the slightest gesture to reflect that she was also happy to see me.
After a deep sigh, the woman in black turned around, ready to leave, to abandon me again. I couldn't allow it.
âDonna, wait, wait please,â I said, running after her, grabbing her arm. She stopped, but she didn't turn to look at me. âPlease, please tell me, tell me what happened to you, why haven't you come to see me in all these years?â
She didn't respond, she just kept walking, slipping out of my grasp.
âDonna, please... Tell me what...â I said standing in front of her again. That horrible black veil made me shiver. âWhy are you covering your face? What is thatâŚ?â I asked, taking one of my hands towards the woman in black.
I hissed in pain as her hand clamped down on my wrist, squeezing it too tightly.
âDonna, you're hurting me,â I protested, moving my hand away definitively. âMy God, what happened to you? Josef told me that Mother MirandaâŚ.â
âMother Miranda saved me,â the lady in black interrupted, releasing me, moving further away from me.
âWhat has she done to you, Donna? You don't seem like yourself...â I murmured, confused, surprised and disappointed at the same time.
âYou know nothing about meâ She said, now, turning around to turn her back on me again.
âYou were my friend! My only friend!â I shouted, when she was far enough away.
âAnd you were mine, (Y/N)â she responded with a dark voice, looking at me over her shoulder.
âSo what's going on? Why can't we just...? Wait...â I said, realizing something I had overlooked. Josef, I had forgotten about Josef. âWhat have you done to him? What have you done to my father?â
âHe won't bother you anymore, (Y/N),â Donna responded, speaking naturally, ignoring what that statement implied. âBesides, he was never your father.â
âI... I don't... You don't...â I stammered. I was not old enough to take on all that stuff at once. Donna continued walking, disappearing again from my sight, from my life...
6 months agoâŚ
12 years. 12 years have passed since the man who claimed to be my father disappeared. At first I didn't know what to do, how to act. I was too young to get out of there. I was too young to know what to do.
Donna didn't come back, I never heard from her again. I had two options: get out of there, escape from the village and never look back. The other one was... Different. My other option was to stay there, in that house, on those grounds. Alone, but free from Josef's yoke. I had no job, no family, and my only friend had built a huge wall between us.
In those 12 years I didn't see her, at least not physically. Sometimes, when I was trying to sleep, when I spent time tending the small orchard or the small garden that surrounded my house, I could feel a presence, as if someone was watching me.
I called her several times, knowing that it could only be her, that only Donna could be there. I never saw her, never, in 12 long years of loneliness.
I couldn't complain. I had a house, I could grow my food and I didn't lack the heat of the fire or the water from the old well. A sad, lonely life. Fortunately, I was already used to the crackling of the fire being my only company.
âCome on, come on...â I said grunting, holding the old wooden bookshelf I was trying to repair.
The house was falling apart, but I managed: I fixed cracks, covered windows... I was aware that this whole adventure would end the moment when, like in the story, someone blew and blew and my house would fell down. But it was not the time to accept reality, to assume that my life was never going to improve.
Every night, I struggled with the idea of âânot continuing to suffer, of ending what would have no solution.
âShit!â I screamed furiously, dropping the wooden shelf as I hit my finger with the hammer in a comical way. Everything on the shelf fell apart. âGreat, great, (Y/N)âŚâ I murmured, leaning my head against the wall, suppressing the urge to tear down the house with my own hands.
âYou keep it...â a familiar whisper made me open my eyes and turn around.
It was her, Donna, her black dress, her black veil, her dark figure before me after 12 years. I had to think if I was asleep or awake. Lady Beneviento remained still, behind me, holding the old doll that her father gave me on my seventh birthday.
âDonna...â I sighed confusedly, with my eyes wide open. âYouâŚâ
âWhat was his name?â She asked, making me shake my head and frown. 12 years old, Donna, 12 years old and all you're asking me what was the name of that stupid doll.
âIt was Mr...â I murmured quietly, my hands shaking, not knowing how I was supposed to act seeing her again, just when I had assumed for years that Donna was nothing but a ghost from my past.
âMr. Whiskers... Now I remember him. He was Angie's boyfriend,â she said, speaking with a tone that made me think she was smiling. 12 years and I couldn't even see her face.
âYes... You remember it,â I said trembling, taking the doll from her hands, making the wooden limbs move to the rhythm of my trembling body.
âYes, I remember when my father gave it to you. It was a funny birthday party,â the woman in black confirmed, walking towards the table where I used to eat. âI'm sure Angie would be happy to see him after so long.â
âAngie...â I sighed, shaking my head. I knew that Donna wasn't right in the head. I had known that since I was a little girl. I never gave it importance but... Hearing about Angie in that way, after so many years, from the mouth of an adult woman, made me stay alert.
âDon't worry, I left her at home, she won't bother you,â Donna murmured, sitting in the chair with a melancholic air around her.
âDonna, I...â I said, approaching, leaving Mr. Whiskers on the table. I still couldn't believe she was really there. âWhat are you doing here?â
âI want to talk to you, (Y/N)â she said with a soft tone, looking around her, observing the place where I lived.
âTo me? After 12 years without talking to me, do you want to do it now?â I couldn't stop the fury from leaving my body. If only she knew how lonely I was all that time. At first I was sad, but later that feeling transformed into helplessness, and, over time, into apathy.
âI know it's been a long time and...â Donna started to say, but she was interrupted by my hand hitting the table hard, reminding me of that man who claimed to be my father.
âA long time? It was an eternity, Donna. Do you know how long I've wanted to see you again? Do you know how lonely I was after you locked yourself in that house? You were my only friend, and you abandoned me,â I said furiously.
âI don't...â She murmured, getting nervous, playing with the black fabric of her dress.
I took a deep breath and reached out to her face.
âWhat is this, huh? Why do you cover your face? What the hell are youâŚ?â I asked while, after avoiding her attempts to stop me, I managed to remove the black cloth from her face, turning pale when I saw it. âHidingâŚâ
Donna stayed quiet, with a cold look on her face as I took in what she was seeing, shaking my head. The age was already evident on her face. Her features were no longer that of a girl, they were that of a woman... A beautiful woman, without a doubt, the most beautiful I had ever seen. She no longer had anything to do with that girl with whom I used to play hide and seek.
One horrible detail stood out from the rest of her features. That scar, that eye that was taken from her in an accident when she was barely 4 years old was no longer there, nor was there anything similar to that small scar.
A prominent, bulging abscess filled part of her face. I had never seen anything like it. But, although it was something horrible it was not so terrible as to hide or shadow her beauty in the slightest. Beauty? My loneliness was starting to take its toll on me.
âGods...â I murmured, ignoring her incipient nervousness, her pathetic attempts to retrieve the veil from my hands. âDonna, what happened to you? Your face isâŚâ
âHorrible, I know. Give it back to me,â she demanded, leaning over the table to reach her veil. I, still horrified and enthralled by her beauty, obeyed her, making her cover herself as quickly as she could.
âNo, I...â I said, trying to fix the situation, wondering what terrible thing had happened. The answer was hidden in a dark corner of my mind. âIt was her, right? Miranda did that to you.â
âYou have no idea, (Y/N),â Donna hissed, adjusting her veil. âSheâŚâ
âYes, she saved you. I already know that story,â Â I said with a superb tone, sitting in front of her and crossing my arms.
âIt's impossible for you to understand,â Donna said in a dark tone, revealing a small embarrassing sob.
âYou're right, Donna. I don't understand you, I don't understand anything. I don't know what that woman did to you. I don't understand what you're doing here after so many years.â
âI want to talk to you,â she said, with her hands trembling on the table. My eyes couldn't stop looking at them, at those pale, soft hands, those hands that saved me from death years ago.
âWhat do you want to talk about? Are you going to tell me why you haven't deigned to appear here in more than ten years?â I asked, tears threatening to run down my cheeks.
âNow Iâm a Lord. I serve Mother Miranda,â The lady in black explained, ignoring my questions. I shouldn't have been surprised.
âYou mean you sold your soul to that witch,â I corrected, risking seeing Josef's attitude in her. I didn't want to. I didn't want to see her that way.
âI'm not trying to convince you to understand me, (Y/N),â Donna said in a calmer tone, shifting her gaze away from mine.
âSo what do you want?â I asked immediately, suppressing the urge to kick the table and throw myself at her neck to demand answers.
âMy new siblings think that someone like me needs a maid,â she explained without any problem, without hesitation. That phrase made me burn with rage and laugh mockingly.
âWhat?â
âI don't know anyone else and I had thought that...â She continued speaking, with a tremor in her voice, probably because of my attitude.
âI don't believe you, Donna. I don't think you're asking me... Do you want me to serve you? It can't be true...â I said with a sarcastic smile, with all my emotions fighting to come out.
âI don't want you to serve me, (Y/N),â she said. âThat's just a formality.â
âA formality...â I repeated, increasingly confused. âI mean, you come after 12 years to talk to me, to ask me to be your maid or something... But you say it's just a formality... Donna... You better speak clearly before I lose my patience,â I said, perhaps taking too many freedoms. The idea that Donna Beneviento was now one of the four pillars that supported Miranda's dominance was terrifying, but not enough to overshadow how important she was in my life.
âI don't want to be alone,â she said with her head down, letting her words come out with a sigh, making my gaze stop being so cold. I recognized that tone, that sincere tone that I had heard before, a long time ago.
âYou've been alone for a long time,â I said, trying not to lose the firmness of my attitude. âMe too.â
âThat's why I want... I want you to come with me, to my house. I will no longer be alone and neither will you,â Donna said, pleading, sobbing almost desperately.
I shook my head, wondering if it was an idea to consider. She was my best friend, the only company I had when I was a child but... But for years she was nothing, not even a shadow, not even the presence that watched me secretly.
âNo, Donna,â I answered, avoiding looking at her face, not knowing how much I could last without throwing myself into her arms and telling her how much I had missed her. âI'm sorry, but you will have to find another maid.â
âI want you to be my maid,â the woman in black sighed, angry at your response. At that moment I started to get a bit scared.
âI've already told you that... No. Look, it took me a long, long time to come to terms with the idea that you were no longer with me, that you no longer wanted my friendship. You can't come after so many years and ask me to live with you. I don't know what happened to you, I don't know what's wrong with your damn head to believe that after so much time, I'll still be waiting for you.â
âBut, (Y/N)... Do you really prefer to stay here rather than come with me?â Donna asked, her voice broken by the crying I was not able to see behind the black fabric of her veil.
I nodded, letting the tears wet my skin.
âYeah, this isn't so bad, you know?â I said cockily, getting up from the chair and extending my arms so that she could look at my house. âAt least I have a roof, food and water. I donât need anything else. I don't need your false compassion. I don't need you Donna... Not anymore. I wouldn't go with you even if the roof co...â
A loud creak, a tremor in the house, silenced me. The snowfall of the last few days had been difficult to control. I knew I had to do it, that I had to remove the snow from the roof but⌠For some reason, I didn't, and part of the roof collapsed behind me.
âCollapses...â I sighed stunned, putting my hands on my head. At that moment I realized that to deceive fate was impossible. We all have a path in life. And mine was hers, next to her.
âWill you come with me?â Donna asked, with her hand on her chest, scared by that noise. That collapse that was very timely for her, of course.
âShit...â I whispered, shaking my head, squeezing my eyes very tightly, wanting to wake up from that nightmare. âI guess I have no choice.â
I packed everything I needed for several days and followed the mourning woman towards her house, towards the old house where I once laughed with her, when everything seemed easier.
âHello, hello...â A shrill voice woke me up from the wave of memories that came to my mind when I entered that house. It couldn't be possible. The Angie doll stood up on its own. It almost gave me a heart attack.
âWhat theâŚ?â I asked, surrounding the puppet, which followed me with its gaze. âNo, it can't be... Is it a trick?â
I approached Donna, removing the veil from her face to look for the origin of that bad joke.
âWhat trick, stupid?â the doll asked, climbing into the arms of its owner.
Her lips didn't move like they used to when she was a child. She wasn't using her ventriloquism. Angie lived, it really lived...
5 months agoâŚ
It was difficult, it was really difficult, but I ended up adapting to that house. That environment was so familiar and comforting. It helped me a lot. To say that I was a maid was an exaggeration. I barely cleaned or cooked. All I did was to be there, to keep Donna company.
At first everything was very cold. I felt unable to forgive her abandonment, her betrayal, but, little by little, we began to talk again, without resentment, with that black veil increasingly absent.
Having someone by your side was a feeling that I had already forgotten. Maybe that's why I started to feel things, things that I was ashamed of. I started to see Donna as a friend again. I started to want to get closer to her, to wait until it was time for dinner to stand in front of her in silence.
Without wanting to, I fell in love with her, without wanting to remember why I liked being with her so much, why I was waiting for her for so long.
âOh, but the office joke was better...â I said amused, taking a sip from my glass of wine, enjoying a late-night chat. Wine, lavender, Donna. Nothing could make me happier at that moment.
âYou mean when we put Angie under the desk?â Donna asked, amused, raising her legs to the sofa where you were lying.
âExactly... It was fun,â I said with a mischievous look, feeling a strange heat on my cheeks. âOh, wow, I think, I think I should stop drinking...â
âWe're in no hurry, (Y/N),â Donna said, amused, pouring more red liquid into my glass and drinking hers.
âDrink, drink, silly,â Angie said, bringing the glass closer to my mouth. I nodded, taking a sip and putting it back on the table.
âThey were good times...â I whispered, with nostalgia being the protagonist of my actions and words.
âDo you remember Mr. Tim?â Donna asked, settling down on the couch.
âOh, yes, Mr. Tim...â I repeated, nodding with an amused look. âThat was the merchant we scared away, right?â
She nodded, laughing sheepishly, embarrassed by her childhood pranks.
âYou were a very convincing ghost, Donna. I couldn't sleep that night,â I commented amused, pretending to tell an unspeakable secret.
âYou were a little girl, it's normal that you were scared...â The lady in black joked, nudging me. I stuck my tongue out at her mockingly, forgetting for a few hours who I was having fun with, the things I had seen, what she did to Josef...
âI was 7 years old, I wasn't that young,â I protested, pretending to be offended in a fun way. âWhat was that phraseâŚ? Iâm the ghost of the white sheets...â
âYou better run if you don't want me to catch you...â Donna continued, faking that ghostly voice from that joke so far away in time.
âYou were really scary,â I said with a smile, shaking my head.
âDo I scare you now?â She asked with an enigmatic tone, as if it were a trick question. I immediately shook my head.
âNo,â I answered briefly, noticing how my smile was fading little by little.
âYou must be the only one,â she murmured, finishing another glass of wine.
âYour doll scares me,â I said, trying to break that small moment of tension.
âHey!â Angie protested, causing us to look at each other for a moment, before laughing exaggeratedly, probably due to the alcohol.
âI missed you so much, Donna,â I said, catching my breath. She looked at me and sighed, her smile growing weaker.
âMe too,â Donna whispered, with a voice so low that I had to get a little closer to hear it.
âI can't stop wondering why we are so far apart...â Â I said, letting my mind speak for me, letting those words come out alone, demanding an explanation that I had needed for a long time.
âI didn't want to see anyone,â Donna said, leaving the glass on the table and looking away from you.
âNot even to see me?â I asked, with a bit of resentment.
âI didn't want... I didn't want to lose you too,â she admitted in a dark voice, getting closer to me. I let her do it, I wanted her to do it.
âYou weren't going to lose me,â I said, getting closer to her, just a little closer.
âWell, the important thing is that now you are here, with me. We're together again,â the lady in black said with a serious tone, moving her hand to take mine, which I allowed, which made me close my eyes as I felt her soft skin caressing mine.
Our hands stayed together as our gazes met. I couldn't really say what I was feeling at that moment, but it was something, something that forced me to raise my other hand to her wounded cheek, making Donna start to tremble.
âI didn't remember...â She whispered, taking the hand that was caressing her cheek and holding it in place. âI didn't remember how good caresses felt.â
âI've thought so much about you...â I murmured, sobbing, with the heat of the wine running through my veins, with anything to stop me from confessing everything I wanted to tell her, what I was feeling at that moment.
âI thought about you too...â She said, approaching too.
I couldn't help it anymore, I just couldn't. My hands gently grabbed her face, bringing her closer to mine until my lips landed on hers. I spent a long time thinking about how it would feel to kiss someone. The actual feeling was much more incredible. I kissed her, I kissed Donna, I kissed her softly. I let my body act of its own will, enjoying the taste of the wine on her lips.
She didn't stop me, at least not at that moment. Her lips opened so that mine could continue acting, so there was no distance between us. A sigh, a gasp, that was her only response as we both continued to deepen the kiss, that first kiss that I didn't want to stop.
The salty taste of my tears joined the wine on her lips, creating a wet mixture that only grew closer and closer together. Donna moved her hands to my hair, pulling it gently, making clear that she didn't want to stop, that the heat that was slowly rising through our bodies was a sensation she didn't want to end. At least for a few minutes.
Suddenly, Donna pulled back, causing our mouths to part with a wet sound. I wish I hadn't opened my eyes, I wish I hadn't seen her scared look and her hands on my chest, preventing me from getting close again.
âWhat are you doing?â She asked, with her eye shining with fear, with anger, with a feeling that was incomprehensible to me.
âI... I...â I stammered, turning away from her immediately, with my face red with embarrassment, showing the mistake I had made, that we had made.
âWhy did you do that!?â The lady in black shouted, mad, getting up from the sofa and covering her face with her hands.
âDonna, I'm, I'm sorry...â I said, fighting the feeling of heartbreak that overcame me, against the tears of humiliation that were beginning to soak my face.
âNo, you can't...âDonna murmured confusedly, walking from one side to the other. She looked like at any moment she would lose her mind. âHow dare you?!â
Screaming and crying inconsolably, she disappeared, leaving a dagger deeply stuck in my heart.
Days, weeks passed without hearing from Donna. After that kiss that she rejected, I never spoke to her again. The veil covered her face again, as if putting it as a barrier between my lips and hers. My soul was wounded, my heart broken.
The love I had begun to feel was just an illusion. I was stupid to fall in love with her, but it was too late. The idea of ââleaving that place was more and more present in my head.
âDamn it,â I said furiously, kicking a chair, letting out the frustration I felt at losing Donna again, because of me. A terrible idea. âAh! Shit!â I screamed, grabbing my sore foot from that unfair kick. âFuck!â
âYou always do those things...â A voice that was nothing but a whisper interrupted my ridiculous jumping. Donna appeared behind me, face uncovered and head bowed.
âWhat? DonnaâŚâ I said, awkwardly putting my foot back on the floor. The pain of the kick had nothing to do with what I felt when I saw her again, when I heard her voice coming from those lips that I could never kiss again.
âWhen you get angry, you always hit things,â she murmured, getting closer to me, playing with her hands.
âYes, well I...â I said, realizing a curious detail. âWait, how do you know that?â
âI've been watching you for a long time, (Y/N)...â She confessed, confirming my suspicions, the suspicions that there was someone stalking me. âI... I went to your house and looked at you.â
âYou were looking at me,â I repeated, blinking in disbelief.
âI wanted to know, I wanted to know what you were like...â The lady said, getting closer and closer, making my body tremble again. âIf the idea I had about you was true.â
âThe idea?â I asked, noticing how her hands grabbed my waist, pulling my body.
âI love you, (Y/N),â she said whispering in my ear, making me turn away confused. âI have been loving you for a long timeâŚâ
âSoâŚ. Donna, why did you reject me?â I asked, crying, this time, with joy.
âI... I don't know how to control my emotions... I was afraid that you wouldn't...â
I didn't let her finish. My lips collided with hers again, letting myself go, grabbing her head so that this time she wouldn't dare to move away. She wouldn't do it, ever again.
No more words were needed, just kisses, just whispers, caresses...
That night my world changed, that night when I didn't stop loving her, when the desire that lived inside us was able to come out. Kisses, caresses, hugs, moans... It happened that night, the night in which we both lost our innocence, the night in which we showed that love can beat everything, even the passage of time, even our two hearts, that didn't know how to love until that night.
Two days agoâŚ
Everything was perfect. The relationship we had was wonderful. There were so many things to discover, so much love to give, to receive. Nothing could go better in my life, and in hers. But fortune didn't last in a poor man's house, or so they used to say.
It was an ordinary afternoon, in which I was dedicated to tidying up the disastrous garden outside the house.
âAh...â I protested when I felt a puncture in my chest, a very painful one.
I tried to continue taking care of the flowers, but the pain became more and more intense, unbearable.
âDonna!â I screamed, kneeling on the ground, noticing how something was beating inside my chest, something that was not my heart. âDonna!â
That was the last thing I could scream before my vision blurred. Then there was only darkness.
â(Y/N), tesoro, please wake up...â A soft whisper made me open one of my eyes. Her dark figure was sitting next to me, squeezing my hand. I felt comfortable, I was in bed.
âDonna...â I said with a dry throat, moving my hand towards a glass of water that was resting on the table. âWaterâŚâ
Donna wasted no time, feeding me the drink lovingly.
âWhat happened to me?â I asked, swallowing all the water, feeling an annoying burning in my chest.
Donna opened her mouth to say something, but she didn't, she simply lowered her head and stood up to grab something from her dresser, a mirror. Without saying anything, embarrassed or scared by something, she sat next to me on the bed again, placing the mirror in a way that allowed me to look at myself.
What I saw almost made me faint. My torso was bare, covered in horrible black veins that ran up to my neck. Where the top of one of my breasts should have been, there was now a dark, throbbing, black lump. I shook my head, touching it. My scar was gone. My chest was far from what it was.
âWhat is this? What is this?!â I screamed horrified, nervous. Donna didn't respond, she continued to avoid my gaze. âGods⌠No, it can't beâŚâ
âYou had it when I found you unconscious in the garden. I wanted you to see it before I heal you,â Donna said with a terribly low voice, giving away that she was hiding something with the sweat that glistened on her forehead.
âWhat is this? What is happening to me? Donna, tell me what this is,â Â I said nervously, moving the mirror away so I couldn't look at that horrible deformity.
âIâm sorry, (Y/N),â she whispered, taking my trembling hand. I pushed it away, thinking she had something to do with it.
âWhat have you done to me?â I asked with dark eyes, roughly grabbing her chin so that she couldn't look away from me. âYou⌠It was you, right?â
âIt wasn't me! She screamed defending herself, pushing my hand away from her face, sobbing nervously.
âTell me what the hell is going on, Donna...â I hissed, getting up from the bed with a dangerous look.
âNo, I don't know... No, you shouldn't...â She stammered, scared by my reaction. âIt's not possible.â
âWhat?â I asked, controlling the tone of my voice before the imminent appearance of a terrible crisis.
âWhat, what you have is... It's...â
âWhat is it, Donna?â I asked, tired of her babbling.
âYou have, you have a Cadou,â the lady in black said, turning away from me, cowering away from my irascible attitude.
âA Cadou? What's that?â I asked calmer, fighting against the anger and the burning in my chest.
âA, a Cadou is a parasite that... Oh, Gods... Why do you have one?â
âDonna, my love...â I said nervously âYou have to speak clearly to me, do you understand? Explain it to me.â
She nodded nervously, letting my hand caress hers as I sat back down on the bed.
âThe Cadou is the gift that Mother Miranda gives us. We, the Lords... We all have one. She implanted it in us. That's why Angie can move, why my face looks that way. It's... It's...â
âOkay...â I sighed, running my hand over my forehead. âBut how?â
âI don't know... If I knew I would tell you but... I'm sorry, (Y/N). I never told you about it because, because I thought you'd be scared.â
I ran my hand over my now deformed chest, trying to remember how something like this could have happened to me. Suddenly it hit me, like a providential revelation. That black lump was not in any place on my chest. I had come out right where I had that strange scar, the scar I got the day I explored that strange cave.
That was the moment when Miranda acted, that was the reason for that sinister laugh when the priestess looked at me the day she brought Donna.
âWhat will happen to me?â I asked, letting all the emotions come out through a sigh.
âI don't know, tesoro... I... Let me heal that wound and... I don't know what we could do...â Donna said stuttering, running a hand over my cheek wet with tears of helplessness.
I let Donna heal me in silence, let her bandage my horrible chest, hiding that black thing, that horrible thing. My mind wandered to possible causes and consequences. It didn't look good. The sting was terrible, was I going to die? No, I couldn't think about that.
I spent my 28 years practically alone, without anyone, with an abusive father, with a friend who disappeared to return years later, to become my beloved. After years of loneliness, I had finally found my place, the place where I wanted to belong: Next to Donna, telling her every day that I love her, not wanting to live without her kisses.
A feeling of anger coursed through my nerves, making the most dangerous option cloud my senses.
âI'm going to face her,â I hissed through clenched teeth when Donna finished bandaging me. She gasped, shaking her head. âI want to know why she did it.â
âNo, you can't, (Y/N). Miranda's wishes cannot be questioned.â
âDo you also have blind faith in her?â I asked with venom in my voice, narrowing my eyes at the woman in black, who shook her head.
âIt's not that, (Y/N). She, she will kill you...â Donna murmured, kissing me on the lips, trying to make me reason, something that was difficult at that point.
âI don't... I can't... I have, I have to do something or...â I said confused, with my temples throbbing and the sting clouding my senses.
âNo, nothing will happen to you, (Y/N). I'm going to take care of you... I promise.â
2 hours agoâŚ
I began to think about my situation. My chest hurt, it burned, but at least I was still alive. Donna took care of me. She gave me her love every day, every hour. But that... That was no longer enough for my wounded soul. I had suffered so much. I had had so many misfortunes in my life that I began to think that it was my fate, that I could no longer believe that I could be happy.
I turned in bed, where Donna was resting next to me. My hand gently reached out to caress her soft skin, causing her to stir, but not wake up. I smiled tenderly and bit my lip, suppressing the sadness I felt at having made that terrible decision.
âDonna, my love... Forgive me... I have to do it,â I whispered quietly so as not to wake her, approaching her lips, giving her a soft kiss, just for a few seconds, surely the last kiss I would give in my entire life. .
She growled adorably, reaching for her hand towards my body, trying to keep me from separating from her. Her hand losing contact with mine as I stood up was the worst moment of my life.
Covering my mouth so as not to cry, I left the room, getting dressed and taking one last look at what, for a few months, had been my home, my family.
I went out into the cold of the night, searching, wishing that black and gold shadow would loom over me, that it would finish me off, or that it would give me the answers I was looking for. That didn't happen until, after walking for a while, I managed to reach that cave, the cave where, when I was 8 years old, I was a victim of that witch.
âMiranda!â I screamed with all my might, without devotion, without love, with hatred, with anger. The echo of my voice bounced off the walls, where those black trees twisted, as if they had heard my words.
âOh, (Y/N), what a surprise,â a velvety voice came out of nowhere, Miranda, smiling, without that horrible mask, gesturing for me to follow her.
My fists were clenched tightly, but my common sense told me that I should listen to him.
I followed her, I followed her thinking of a thousand ways to put an end to her, I followed her to a kind of underground cathedral. I remembered that place, Donna had told me about it. It was where they met.
âWhy?â I asked when the priestess stopped, looking at me with bright eyes, eyes that were like daggers in my chest.
âWhat have I done?â She asked sardonically, enjoying my confusion and my anger.
âThis!â I shouted, undoing the bandage and showing her the deformity of my torso, which she looked at with a look of satisfaction.
âI see... So it's finally deigned to come out...â She murmured, approaching me like a current of icy air, of cutting wind.
âWhy?â I asked again.
âOh, shut up, your questions are bothering me, (Y/N)...â The witch said, touching the lump on your chest contemptuously.
âYou're a bitch,â I said hissing, growling, and putting my life at risk.
âHow rude you are... It seems that you have grown up alone, mm? Has no one taught you manners? I was hoping that Donna would have spent her time teaching you how to be a person of worth, but I see that the only thing she's taught you is how to make her happy in bed, right?â
âShut up!â I screamed, pushing the woman by her chest, pushing her away from me.
âYou're playing with my patience, (Y/N)... Don't be dramatic. After all, you are of no use to me,â she whispered, circling around me like a scavenger bird. âWhat a pity. When I saw that little girl sneak into the cave I thought: why not? Surely the Cadou acts wonderfully with someone so young... But, it seems that I was wrong about you...â
âWhat are you taking about?â I asked, feeling weaker with every passing second.
âPlease, (Y/N). I can't speak more clearly. I put some hope in you but... I'm afraid you are another failure.â
âWhat?â My voice sounded weaker and weaker.
âA failed experiment if you prefer that way. After so many years  Cadou has not been able to fully develop. A shame.â
âI'm not an experiment, I'm a person,â I said, without taking into account the consequences.
âYes, yes, that's what everyone says... But hey, you're lucky, maybe you won't die,â Miranda said, opening her eyes in a sinister way. âYou might live long enough to die of old age next to crazy Donna, isn't that wonderful?â
âDon't insult her,â I growled furiously. Oh no, not Donna.
âAre you threatening me? How daring...â Â Miranda laughed, amused by my obvious weakness.
My hand searched in my skirt pocket, looked for the knife I took from home, the knife with which I planned to kill her. What a stupid thing.
âI'll kill you!â I screamed, lunging at the blonde, who made no effort to dodge my attack, which went straight to her chest.
The knife went deep into her skin, but she didn't bleed, the bitch didn't bleed. Miranda just pulled the gun from her body and laughed out loud.
âStupid girl...â She murmured, shaking her head. âHow easy it would have been for you to be nice to meâŚâ
I couldn't speak, I couldn't move. I was scared to death. I was going to die, but deep down, I already knew it.
âBut you know what? I think you and Donna make an adorable couple... At least with someone next to her she won't lose her mind completely,â the priestess said amused, playing with the knife in her hand. âYou caught me in a good mood, (Y/N).â
A freezing cold passed over my shoulder as her golden claws dug into it, wetting the fabric of my blouse with five thin threads of blood.
âI offer you a deal,â she hissed in my ear, causing me to shiver. âYou can go with Donna and live happily ifâŚâ
âIf?â I said trembling, closing my eyes, waiting for the final blow.
âIf you can survive...â Miranda murmured moments before a horrible pain crossed my stomach.
I gasped and looked down. The same knife I intended to kill Miranda with was now stuck in my body, causing me overwhelming pain, causing me to fall to the ground, curling in on myself.
âOh, come on, it's not that big of a deal... I've been pious,â the priestess mocked.
With what little strength I had, I reached out with my blood-covered hand to grab her clothes, pulling at them with ridiculous force. She kicked it away unpleasantly.
âI'll let Donna know. I think she will arrive in about⌠20 minutes,â the blonde said, walking slowly, further and further away from my erratic movements due to the pain. âIf you are alive when she arrives, she will have no difficulty healing you. I will not kill you. If you die... Well, I guess we'll leave it in the hands of fate, right?â
The sound of her steps was camouflaged with her laughter, leaving me badly injured, alone, writhing in pain.
And here, on the cold stone floor, contemplating the full moon, I finish remembering how I had gotten there. My life does not pass before my eyes. Donna is the only thing I can see. Her kisses are the only thing I feel on my skin, her whispers are the only thing I hear.
The full moon is horrible if I remember her beauty, her smile. All I can do is think about her. I have no intention of fighting, of calming my pain. I had asked for it and just as Miranda said: it had to be left in the hands of fate.
Deep down I feel the need to scream for her, for her to hurry up and heal me. But the memories that Iâm able to evoke tell me that there was never the slightest possibility that I, that we, could be happy. A painful truth that only now, on the verge of death, Iâm able to accept.
I close my eyes, feeling my body go numb. I remember hearing Donna's parents talk about a local legend that said that if you died in the village, you wouldn't die completely. But they, they died. They didn't take care of her daughter from a distance. I guess that's what happens when you're about to die, I guess the comfort of a legend that says your soul will live on is normal when you start seeing the light.
For me there is neither heaven nor hell. There is no heaven without Donna, there is no hell without Miranda. I have nothing left and nothing I leave behind. Only one woman, only the only woman I have ever loved.
â(Y/N)!â A scream brings me out of the review of my sins, from my breathing becoming weaker and weaker. It is a strident, desperate scream.
I turned my head so that the moonlight didn't look like the light I should follow. Just a bit more, I have to know whose voice it is. But my body is weak, it is getting weaker. I feel how death is calling me. I feel that this voice is becoming more and more like a whisper...
âAh!â I scream when I wake up. As if it were a nightmare, I see myself in my bed, in our bed. My chest hurts, my stomach hurts. My whole body is numb, as if I have been sedated.
When I look forward, I see a black lump above my legs and the sensation of breathing on them begins to tickle. It couldn't be possible, but apparently, I'm back home and Donna⌠Donna is lying asleep on my lap.
I touch my body to check that I haven't died, that the wounds are still there. They are there, hidden by bandages, but they are there. I haven't died, I'm alive, I'm with Donna. I'm in Heaven, my Heaven.

That Skyrim au thing you did a while back made me cream. But also, what if the reader is like betrothed and the guy sheâs betrothed to is awful so the guys like kill him or something to keep the reader forever.
Im sorry this is probably so confusing but Im having a brain rot and I canât think straight lmaoooo
Oh my godđ i really didn't expect for my silly Skyrim thot to be so popular but I'm so happy ;;
Also I'm sorry in advance but I went with Graves on this bc kinda obsessive Lord!Graves is scratching an itch and I have many thoughts about him and tavern maid reader ;;
also if you desire so, it can be the same Lord Graves as the one here
fem!reader, not really nsfw but general perviness, obsessive Philip Graves (he's a lil delusional ;;), reader is implied to be chubby, gore & mentions of murder but nothing graphic really, creepy guy but dw, philip deals with him <3
OKAY SO as you can probably imagine, your arranged marriage to the local blacksmith was....anything than out of love or even affection, it was purely out of convenience on the insistence of your father. Your parents were getting older but you were still young and so beautiful, many men in the village would court you but according to your father the blacksmith was the best match; the fact that they were old buddies and often shared a drink together and the 'arrangement' was probably created during one of their drunken get togethers was an unspoken fact.
Another thing that displeased you greatly was the fact that not only was the blacksmith, Halvar was his name, your father's age but he was known to not be a pleasant man to be around. He was loud, crass, hot-tempered and terribly ill-mannered, not to mention a raging drunk so much that you wonder how did such a man keep up his workshop for so long. You knew about his drunken escapades very well, every server girl at the tavern knew about him and how terrible he got while drunk, and you were to be his wife? You felt defeated at best and simply humiliated and hopeless at worst.
You were dreaming and wondering about your wedding day and future spouse since you were a girl, would they be strong and handsome? Beautiful? Kind and caring and would take you away from this life of barely getting by? All those dreams quickly faded to nothingness when you came to terms with whom you'll be spending the rest of your life with and it was...miserable.
Little did you know about a certain someone who has been keeping his eyes on you for quite some time now. Someone who send his men, his 'Shadows' to spy on you and report back to him just to be sure that you're safe and okay and the last reports worried him greatly.
Because you see, Lord Commander Philip Graves was in love. He was in love with you and he had it bad. To him, everything about you was perfect; your clear glowing skin that looked so soft to touch, your hair flowing in the wind, your full breasts almost spilling out of the barmaid dress as you were giggling and serving him wine and dinner while he regularly visited the tavern you worked at just so he'd be able to watch you, gods he wanted to pull that annoying dress down and suckle on you tits, grope your full and soft body until you were mewling for him...
He was in love with your bubbly nature, your smile and with your full, plump body; he wanted to devour you and keep you as his, make you his Lady Wife and breed you full of his children. You'd be such a good momma Philip thought, with your caring nature you'd nurture your babies and you two would watch them grow into perfect lords and ladies. And while your marriage would probably spark a few controversies given his status as a lord and you a 'simple' villager but let's be honest, he wouldn't give two fucks about it. Let those little lordlings whine to him that he didn't chose one of their snotty daughters to marry, nobody would even listen to them and Philip would end up with a perfect little wifey.
The only problem was you 'betrothed', that old drunk blacksmith.
Philip scowled even at the thought of someone like that getting with someone like you. You were perfect in every sense and that poor excuse of a man was nothing compared to you...to him, Lord Graves.
The blonde drank deeply from his goblet, the spiced wine leaving a pleasant taste on his tongue and briefly he wondered whether you'd taste sweeter on his tongue...before his mind returned to the more unpleasant thoughts.
He was very well aware that the betrothal was an arrangement between your father and that man but it didn't lessen the burning anger in his veins, if anything it made it even worse. That old drunken bastard could barely make a straight sword nowadays so what would make anyone believe that he'd be able to actually take care of you? With him you'd have everything you'd ever ask for and more, maids and servants waiting on your command and Philip himself would tour the world if you asked for a specific kind of material for your dress or jewel.
Yeaaah, the blacksmith had to go immediately and Philip being a lord commander, basically owning all the villages around his castle, knew exactly what to do and how it'd happen.
He smiled to himself and brought the goblet back against his lips as he leaned on the windowsill to continue watching you take a bath in the lake, his keen blue eyes darkening with desire as he watched your naked body swimming in the body of water and giggling as some ducks swam by you. The blonde could already envision it; you, naked and flushed and panting, all warm and cozy among the luxurious furs and blankets of his bed with Philip panting above you getting down from his high and passionately kissing your swollen lips, growling and hugging you close to him and making sure to mark you up with lovebites and hickeys, rubbing his musky scent off on you to make sure everyone knows that you're his.
And while you'd be all smiley and cozy, drunk on your love and the warm glow from the hearth illuminating your skin, your ex-betrothed would be...less fortunate, rotting away in the deeper parts of the surrounding forest, half eaten away by nature, forgotten and completely eradicated from your mind.

âThere we go.â You gently weave the clip of Nancyâs veil into her hair, fluffing the tulle so it brushes her shoulders. âNance, you look stunning.â Her curly hair is perfectly coiffed, falling in soft waves. Her dress is classic and elegant; an off-the-shoulder bodice with a full skirt. Even her makeup is perfect, with eyeshadow shimmering on her lids, lips painted a soft baby pink.
âSeriously,â Robin agrees as she hands the rest of the bridesmaids their bouquets. âSteve is gonna lose his mind when he sees you walk down that aisle.â
Max pipes up from behind her. âIâve started taking bets on how long itâll take him to start blubbering.âÂ
âPersonally, I think itâll be as soon as he hears the music,â Holly adds, smirking. This makes everyone giggle, and no one can disagree.Â
Once the laughter dies down, Nancy beams, looking at her bridal party. âI canât thank you girls enough for everything youâve done to make this day so special.â Her voice breaks on the last word, and maid of honor Robin dashes over with a tissue.
âDonât cry! Youâll smudge your makeup!â she warns, contorting her face at her own words. âGod, I sound like such a priss!â
âYeah, but youâre my priss,â Nancy teases, carefully dabbing at the corners of her eyes. She turns to you with a smile. âY/N, could you go see if the guys are ready? I have this fear that one of them is gonna show up missing a tie or a shoe or something.â
âIâm also taking bets on that,â Max calls out. âMy moneyâs on Mike.â
You take Nancyâs hand and give it a little squeeze. âNo problem. Iâll make sure everyone is fully dressed.âÂ
She thanks you and pulls you in for a hug. âIâm so glad the gods of dorm assignments made us roommates,â she says as she lets you go. It seems like ages ago that youâd lugged your suitcases into the tiny dorm room your freshman year of college, greeted by the shy girl with big dreams of being a New York Times editor. The two of you had become fast friends, writing papers and cramming for exams together. After college, both of you had landed jobs at The Indianapolis Star, and the shared experience of being women in journalism had only brought you closer.
It had also brought you closer to Nancyâs friends from high school, many of whom were in the wedding party.
You rap on the door to the groomâs suite three times. âIs everyone decent?â you ask, pushing open the door slightly.
â10-4, weâre good to go!â Dustinâs voice calls back. Heâs been taking his best man duties seriouslyâperhaps too seriouslyâsince Steve first asked him to take on the role. You walk into the room and squeal with excitement at the guys in their tuxedos.
âYou all look so handsome!â you gush. âJust wait until you see your bride, Steve. She looks even more beautiful than usual.â
Steve smiles, already blinking back tears. Youâll have to report back to Max that he didnât even make it to the chapel before crying.
A clamoring comes from inside the restroom. âStupid tie; wonât stay straight!â Eddie Munson grumbles, flinging open the door in frustration. âDoes anyone here know how toâwhoa.â He stops mid-sentence when he notices you in your lilac dress, accessory woes all but forgotten.Â
âNeed some help?â you offer politely, trying to calm your nerves at the prospect of being so close to him. Eddie just nods, and you pray that he doesnât notice your trembling fingers as you adjust his tie. âThere; now itâs perfect.â
âThanks,â he mumbles. âYou, um, you look reallyâŚwow.â He blushes as he trips over his words. Heâd been shy around you ever since youâd moved to Indiana after college two years earlier, but heâs never been this tongue-tied. Probably just nervous about the wedding, you think, shrugging it off.
âGood wow, I hope,â you tease, finding yourself unable to make eye contact with him. His gray suit is fitted to his body and his usually unruly hair is pulled back into a low bun. If it wasnât for the signature rings adorning his fingers, the D20 cufflinks, and the guitar pick necklace peeking out from under his shirt, you might not even recognize him.
âY-yeah, of course!â He rushes, shoving his hands in his pockets.Â
You blush at the compliment. âWell, you look very wow, yourself.â He looks more than wow; heâs downright gorgeous, but you canât bring yourself to say it. Especially in front of a crowd.
âOkay, lovebirds, save it for your own wedding,â Dustin jeers with a roll of his eyes. âWe gotta start lining up.â He reads out the pairs:Mike with Holly, Lucas with MaxâŚand Eddie with you.Â
You loop your arm through Eddieâs, waiting your turn to walk down the aisle. Steve and Dustin are already at the altar; the former has tears streaming down his cheeks, and Nancy hasnât even started walking with her father yet.
âHeâs such a mess,â Eddie whispers to you, making you laugh.
âCareful,â you warn jokingly, âyou might be the same way at your wedding.â Your heart skips a beat when you imagine him in Steveâs spot; only instead of Nancy, youâre the bride.
You and Eddie part once you make your way to the front of the chapel; he takes his place next to Mike and you take yours alongside Holly. Everyone stands when Nancy enters, and you find yourself nearly as emotional as Steve. Her eyes are glued to her groom, and she canât seem to stop smiling.Â
Your gaze briefly shifts to the groomsmen, and youâre taken aback when you realize Eddieâs looking back at you. He notices the tears brimming in your eyes and quickly pokes his tongue between his lips to make you laugh. You mirror his action and he grins, looking down at the ground before he gets caught causing mischief.Â
The ceremony is simple and sweet, with Nancy and Steve reading handwritten vows. After promising to love and cherish one another forever, the minister pronounces them husband and wife, and all the guests burst into applause.Â
Steve places a deep, passionate kiss on his new wifeâs lips, and the recessional starts. You hook your arm around Eddieâs once more and head to the cocktail hour.Â
Nancy grabs you as soon as you enter the sunlit room. âCan you help me with my bustle?â she asks sheepishly. âThis dress feels like it weighs a hundred pounds!â
You nod emphatically, ignoring your growling stomach. You really worked up an appetite being a bridesmaid. âOf course, Mrs. Harrington,â you say with a smile.Â
Youâre kneeling on the ground of the bridal suite, determined to hook the loop around the buttons dotting the back of Nancyâs dress, when you hear a knock on the door.
âSpecial delivery!â Eddieâs voice alone makes you blush. Nancy, always astute, catches your pink cheeks in the mirror and makes kissy faces. You swat at her playfully.
âCome in, weâre decent!â you call back, and he enters with a plate of hors d'oeuvres.Â
He extends the plate out between the two of you. âFigured you ladies might be hungry,â he says. Nancy grabs a mini quiche, but you donât want to get grease on your hands while touching her pristine white dress.
âYou can just leave the plate there,â you tell him politely, jutting your head toward a nearby table. âIâll have some when Iâm done with this.â
Eddie shakes his head. âNuh-uh. Max told me youâve barely eaten anything all day, and Iâm not waiting for you to faint. Really cuts into our dancing time if youâre unconscious, yâknow?â He pinches a mushroom cap between two fingers and motions to your mouth. âHowâs it?â
âDelicious,â you report. âHit me with another.â
He laughs and obliges. This time, his fingers gently graze your lips, and you have to stop yourself from visibly shivering.Â
âThank you,â you say softly, retreating into yourself after the accidentally intimate moment.Â
âNot a problem,â Eddie replies, unfazed by the ordeal. âAnything else I can help with?â
âI think weâre good here!â You finish fastening the bustle triumphantly, and Nancy breathes a sigh of relief now that she no longer has to drag the long train.
Eddie nods and steals a bacon-wrapped scallop from the plate. âIâll see you two out there, then,â he says, but heâs only looking at you.
With Eddie safely on the other side of the door, Nancy looks at you with her arms folded across her bodice. âNow do you believe us when we say heâs in love with you?â
You bark out a laugh. âBecause he brought a plate of food? It was for you, too. Is he also harboring a secret crush on you?â
âHe didnât feed it to me,â she shrugs, giving a knowing smirk. âAnd he didnât mention dancing with me, either. Only you. And the way he looks at you? Come on, Y/N.â
âYeah, yeah,â you mutter. âLetâs just get you to your husband.â You canât let yourself develop stronger feelings towards Eddie. Youâve been through this beforeâeveryone convinces you that a guy likes you, you let yourself get attached, and then your heart gets broken when he inevitably starts dating someone else or says he only sees you as a friend. No, that canât happen again.
The band plays song after song as you and your friends dance the night away. Robin, four shots of tequila deep, starts a conga line to Whitney Houstonâs âI Wanna Dance with Somebody.â Between the endless barrage of photo taking and the sheer happiness radiating through you, your cheeks hurt from smiling.
Eddieâs among the group of you on the dance floor, laughing and moving along to the beat. This is probably what he meant by âour dancing time,â you think; to your dismay, youâre disappointed by this realization. You could, in theory, ask him to dance to a slow songâit is 1992, after allâbut you canât stomach the idea of him rejecting you. Or worseâtaking pity on you.
âHaving fun?â Max shouts over the music, and you give her a thumbs-up. âHow about you?â she asks Eddie, whoâs sulking now that the band is playing some overdone Madonna song.
âWould be better if we could get these guys to do some Metallica or Black Sabbath,â he jokes, although you suspect thereâs some truth to his statement.
Max rolls her eyes and says, âDonât worry; you can have a metal band play when you and Y/N get married.â Your eyes widen at her brazenness, and you try your best to be inconspicuous as you shuffle back to your seat.
âY/N!â Max calls after you. âIâm sorry. I didnât mean to embarrass you.â Her cheeks are flushed, though it may be from the drinking and dancing.
ââS not just that,â you mumble, slumping into your seat. âSure, itâs embarrassing; but itâs alsoâŚI donât wanna get my hopes up.â
âGet your hopes up?â
âYeah, get my hopes up thatâŚthat he feels the same way about me.â You feel your voice warble, and you take a deep breath to quell your emotions.
âAre you kidding?â Max asks incredulously. âEddie is pathetically obsessed with you; itâs so obvious.â
âThen why hasnât he asked me out? Weâve known each other for two years, Max. Two years. And he can make me feel like the most special person in the world, but he never makes a move.â
Max is uncharacteristically quiet for a moment, chewing on a painted fingernail. âYou didnât know Eddie back in high school,â she starts, âbut heâs basically spent his entire life being rejected, especially by girls.â She sits down next to you and rests her palm on your knee. âHe asked this one girl to promâa cheerleaderâbecause he thought she was into him. And maybe she was, I donât know. But her ex-boyfriend âwon her backâ the day before they were supposed to go together, and she left Eddie in the dust.â
âThatâsâŚthatâs terrible,â you manage, a bitter taste settling on your tongue. âI had no ideaâŚâ
âHeâs told us a hundred times that he wants to ask you out. He has all these plans: dinner and a movie, or a concert; one time, he even thought of taking you to a cooking class because you mentioned how you went to one in college and really liked it.â She snorts at the idea of Eddie using a stove without burning the place to the ground. âBut every time, he second guesses himself and chickens out. And every time, we give him shit for it.â
âSo what do I do?â You gnaw at your bottom lip anxiously, looking at her through your lashes.Â
Max pauses, considering her options. âWait here,â she says finally, bolting from the table and making a beeline to Lucas and Dustin. She whispers something to them, and they nod in unison. You watch as Dustin sprints outside, where Eddie is smoking a cigarette. Lucas talks to the band, who is in between songs. Theyâre nodding their heads and discussing something, and Lucas looks satisfied when he hops down from the stage.
Your pout softens when you hear the opening notes of âNothing Else Mattersâ by Metallica. You glance over at Eddie, who is making his way towards you with a shy smile on his face. When he gets to your seat, he extends his hand.
âCan I have this dance?â he asks. You can see in his eyes that heâs nervous, maybe even more so than you.
âOf course you can,â you reply, taking his hand and joining him on the dance floor. You drape your left hand over his shoulder and his places his on your waist as the two of you sway to the music.
âItâs come to my attention that Iâm an idiot,â he hums in your ear. âAnd that thereâs someone really, really important to me that Iâve been hurting, and I didnât even know it.â
You shake your head, hair tickling his face. ââS not your fault,â you tell him. âI couldâve said something, too.â
âThat is very true,â he teases, twirling you gently. âMaybe we can be idiots together?â
âIâd think weâd better, considering everyoneâs already started planning our wedding,â you joke back. âAlthough Iâd prefer to start with a date.â
Eddie holds you closer, pressing a light kiss to your nose. âI think that can be arranged.â
The two of you dance in comfortable silence, just holding one another. You rest your head on his chest, breathing in the scent of musky cologne and cigarettes. You feel so safe, so loved, with his strong hand holding the small of your back. âHey, Eddie?â you murmur.
âMhm?â
You shift your body slightly so you can look at him. His dark brown eyes are focused on you and you alone. He runs his tongue along his lower lip, and his jaw twitches slightly with nerves.
With all of the courage you can muster, you lean in and kiss him, wrapping your arms around his neck. He pulls you impossibly closer, resting a hand on your cheek and caressing it with his thumb.
âCanât believe I waited this long to do that,â he muses. âI really am an idiot.â
âI donât know whatâs more unbelievable: Eddie Munson kissing me, or Eddie Munson in a tux.â You laugh and kiss him again.
âWell, youâd better get used to the first one,â he says with a smirk. âBut the second one isnât happening again until our wedding.â

For the writing challenge how about Slow Dancing by V and Radiant Dawn? :)
You know what? I like you, and you've also been very patient (thanks! sorry!). Why don't you have TWO snippets? ;)
First, Radiant Dawn: đŚâđĽ
"What's that?" asked Elincia, trying to peek over her shoulder.
A gentleman am I, and so should not
Blame you for ev'ry fleeting wish and thought.
But prithee, why must you confuse me so?
Your eyes tell me to stay, your lips say "go".
I trust I have made my intentions clear,
And that you know I love you very dear.
I only wish that you would do the same
And not play, with my heart, your little game.
Perhaps it would be better to depart,
And thus, protect my poor, love-stricken heart.
Alas! It is too late, I'll ne'er be swayed.
All my affections remain yours, good maid.
"Nothing!" Lucia stammered, stuffing the love letter into her pocket. Count Bastian would be the death of her yet.
When Nen came out of the mess tent, Neta was setting and the sky was rapidly fading to the burnt orange of twilight. The tents and shanties' shadows were lengthening across the charred earth, leaving New Silcard looking a bit gloomy.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And now, the Silen Fah one! âď¸
"Matches our moods," Nen thought sullenly, shuffling down a "street" toward the lean-to he'd been sharing with Fabian and four jelturen. He had to give everyone credit; they'd all really tried to bring each other's hope back. But their town was burnt down, and poor little Trajeda... he hated to even think about it, but she'd probably burnt down with it. Tannufia, especially, had been inconsolable, no matter what anybody did. There was nothing to be done now... but that didn't make things any easier to bear.
Then Nen saw something that did make him perk up a little. His eyes were sweeping the hastily-planted gardens on the outskirts of camp... and he noticed Vixie. He abruptly rotated in his walk and strolled in her direction. She had her back to him and was pulling out weeds - a bit more fiercely than was entirely necessary. Nen stepped over one row and settled down to help.
"Oh!" said Vixie, glancing nervously up at him.
"Didn't scare ya, did I?" said Nen.
"...No, no it's fine," said Vixie, her face softening. Then she frowned a little and looked back down at her work.
Nen grunted, and worked side by side with her in silence for awhile. But it didn't take long for him to get uncomfortable. Eventually he cleared his throat. "So... what's been eating you?"
"Eating?"
"You know. Bothering you. Upsetting you. Keeping you up at night."
"You don't know that," said Vixie.
"Everybody with eyes knows that," he said, gesturing up and down at her disheveled face. "You're sleeping less than your sister and that's saying something."
"Why should I tell you?" Vixie growled, struggling against something with a particularly deep root. "We don't even know who we can trust anymore."
"Hey now, that's hurtful," he said, trying - unsuccessfully - to catch her eye. "You know you can trust me. What reason could I have to sell out to the Mervaturen? All my friends are right here. You're right here. I'd have nothing at all to gain, and everything to lose. I'm not the spy and you know it."
Vixie suddenly met his gaze. She was hard to read - her brows were furrowed, her cheeks were flushed, and her eyes were full of tears. "Why can't you leave me alone?" she groaned.
"Wha-" Nen started, but stopped when Vixie started to cry. He climbed over the little plants and pulled her into a hug - which, surprisingly, she did not resist. Somehow, this silence wasn't so tense, and Nen was able to restrain himself for awhile. So there he sat, in the lengthening shadows, with Vixie weeping softly into his shoulder, for quite some time. But all the while, his mind was racing. She wants me to leave her alone? But why did she let me hug her? She's hugging me back? Is she mad? Just dealing with grief? Why accuse me of being the spy? I kind of understand the other humans, but why her? ...Maybe if I confide in her, she'll confide in me?
"Hey," he finally mumbled in her ear, when the crying jag seemed to be winding down. "Can you keep a secret?"
Vixie pushed away immediately and sat back on her heels, frowning at him again. "Don't tell me anything," she huffed, wiping her eyes.
"Eh? I thought we just had a moment-"
"No moments!" said Vixie, standing up quickly. The tears were coming hard and fast again. "This isn't the time or the place for a moment!" She turned and ran down the garden path.
"I don't get it," Nen called, hurrying after her. "You've got a thing for me, I can tell that. But you're always pushing me away as hard as you can. Help it make sense!"
"I can't do this right now," said Vixie, spinning around to confront him, and starting when she found her nose practically poking him in the chest.
"Listen," said Nen, "we're all pretty rattled right now, I get that. But pushing your friends away and always assuming the worst isn't doing you any favors. Romance or not, I want to help you. So I've got this thing I haven't told anybody yet, and I want you to let me trust you with it. Can you do that?"
Vixie started to say something, but whatever it was caught in her throat. Nen found himself holding her again, and this time, she'd initiated the embrace.
"Right," said Nen, swaying slightly between the rows of carrots. "So..." he took a deep breath. Now that he came to it, he didn't really want to give away his secret. But it was something to help distract Vixie from... whatever it was. So he forged ahead. "I figured out my power."
"W... what?" she said, puling her head away to look into his eyes.
"I haven't told anybody because I can't control it," said Nen. "It's not a blessing so much as a curse, really. Sometimes, when I get too excited or upset... I turn into a dragon."
"What??"
"I can't control when I change, or when I change back," Nen hurried on. "I can't even control my fire breath all that well. I do more damage by accident than anything else. And everyone else's powers have come so easily... I just don't think they'd understand why I can't control it. So I haven't said anything. But that's why I've been disappearing for days on end. I'm not a spy. I'm a dragon."
"Oh Nen..." Vixie leaned her head against him again. "Why would you tell me?"
"Well..." he thought for a minute. "Because I trust you."

Belonging || Yan! Lisa Lisa Drabble
Once again another daydream that soon became something I write about. EDIT: itâs been a while since Iâve written something omg, this is super all over the place. Hopefully, this is a nice lil taste before I write full one-shots again. Enjoy!! ^^
Warnings: minors dni, fem reader, yandere behaviors, burning (with cigarette), flirting with Caesar, abuse of power, kinda short
âAgain.â
The older woman demanded as she placed the cigarette butt directly onto your arm. You cried out in pain. Despite this not being the first time youâve been burned, it still hurt like hell. This had been going on for what felt like an eternity.
What did you even do that warranted this sadistic torture from your mistress?
Oh right. You disobeyed her.
.
.
.
Lisa Lisa had been your mistress for just a little over a year. Really it was just supposed to be for a couple of weeks. You had only decided to work as a maid and attendant to cover for your(at the time, sick) sister, Susie Q. However, your sister got too attached during your visit that she has begged you to stay; so you did.
And boy do you regret it.
At first, things were normal. You werenât expecting to build a close bond with the older woman. But you soon started to notice how much Lisa Lisa was spending time with you. You assumed that was okay right? Surely it was normal. After all, your sister spoke very highly of Lisa Lisa, you knew the two could be considered close friends. You knew she loved this job, it wasnât really appropriate to question anything about it. So you just shrugged it off.
Then things started getting weirder when your mistress had asked if you wanted to bathe with her. Huh..? That was odd. It was such an out of no where proposition you had to refuse. You couldnât exactly forget the look she gave you. It was a dominating glare that lingered, and scared the absolute shit out of you. Surely there wouldnât be anything wrong with that right? After that interaction you gave in and joined her for a bath.
From then on Lisa Lisa pulled you aside for all kinds of different reasons. Some of which were way too personal for the relationship the two of you had.
"Give me a massage darling, I've had a rough day.." Normal enough.
"Won't you join me for bed sweetheart?" Okay..odd.
"I don't want you talking to Caesar anymore." Wait what?
Your mistress had forbidden you to talk to the blonde-haired Italian. But why? Sure you had a small crush on him, and you may or may not have returned his advances towards you a couple of times, but why should that be any of her business?!
"Lisa Lisa-"
She gave you a nasty look, "That's mistress to you", she said lighting a cigarette without looking away from you. You gulped as you made eye contact with her. Sweat started to go down your face, was it worth it to even call her out on this invasion of privacy?
"Mistress, with all due respect, I don't think it's an issue that I'm talking to Mr. Zep-"
"Are you disobeying me?" Lisa Lisa asked in a stern tone. Even when she was livid, her face still looked relatively calm. "I didn't ask you to stop talking to him, that was a direct order. By the looks of it I see you hold no respect for me anymore" she said crossing her legs ever so elegantly.
You didn't know how to react. "I'm sorry mistress I didn't mean that-"
"Are you sorry?" she cut you off once again. You nodded. She signaled you to come closer to her. Reluctantly, you did. And now you were standing right in front of her.
"Sit down on my lap darling. That's also an order. Unless you're not sorry. And if you aren't there's the door, and your sister can go with you" she stated, and that alone made you obey with no hesitation. You didn't want Susie to lose her job...
"That's a good girl..but you still need to be punished, don't you?"
.
.
.
"Again darling, I couldn't hear you clearly the last time.."
You were crying horrendously. So much so your tears were blinding you. Lisa Lisa was not kind whatsoever. You were growing sick of smelling the strong scent of her favorite brand of cigarettes. Your arms were covered in burns, while your neck was filled with hickeys. You wanted this to stop, you had enough.
"I'm still waiting," she said in a low voice.
You whimpered as you felt Lisa Lisa bring another cigarette close to your arm again. "I-I'm sorry, I won't talk to Mr. Zeppeli anymore," you said closing your eyes.
She gave you a small smile, "And?"
"I will never disobey you again.." you said. "M-mistress" you whispered opening your eyes and facing her.
Lisa Lisa smiled, you trembled above her. She looked at all the burn marks and hickeys that were now on your body. All physical signs that you belong to her.
You were officially hers, and no one could take you away.

I loved your family life with the yanderes!
I was wondering if you'd be open to doing more of their reactions ,especially to the readers pregnancy/ birth? I personally love kids and want some of my own one day ( looking forward to twins!) And I would really love to see how they react.
Silas would be stoked, partially because now you seriously can't escape and he gets the life he always daydreamed about! Freaks the hell out when reader goes into labor, like sweating pacing, almost punching the doctor for doing their job. He definitely books a private room and has security everywhere but it's all worth it for you and your baby. He's never gonna let anything happen to either of you
Dr.kry would definitely become even more of a control freak and monitor everything. Imagine reader gets pregnant while still in the hospital. Joy turns to panic, if this gets out people will know what's going on between you two! He takes you home and has you on a strict schedule. He has access to everything you could ever need and definitely plans a home birth. He's so happy seeing his darling with his child. Finally the family he's been waiting for.
Edmund would be happy in a "one more thing off the checklist" kinda way. He'd be happy if his darling was happy but other than that not super emotional about the whole ordeal. He doesn't get emotional till the birth and then? It's pure protective anger and rage! The second he hears any sounds of pain he is fighting his way into that room and screaming at the maids to take away the pain. Slightly resents the child for causing you so much pain, but once he sees the love in your eyes he can't stay mad. ( He can but chooses not to for your sake)
Jerry's just glad it's not her going through the whole ordeal. She sees the upsides but also the downsides. upside? You're trapped, and you won't be lonely while she's working! Downside? Your attention is split now. Plus now you're emotional and defiant and she can't really punish you for it. She's pretty disconnected when the birth comes around. She doesn't really care, but also doesn't like seeing you in pain. " You wanted this, it's all part of the package ain't it?". She's not as attached to the baby but sees it as an extension of you so it's cool in her eyes.
To Hedwig this is the best time of her life! She is so excited to have a baby with you! She loves every second, and probably cried more than you do. She's taking full care of you and keeps the environment controlled and safe. She has private security surrounding the house and hospital. Near constant checkups and shopping sprees. Has changed the colors of the nursery three times and it still doesn't feel right to her. You never have a second alone and she is constantly touching and talking to the baby. You're pretty much on bed rest the second you find out but the birth is mostly up to you, as long as she gets to be there she doesn't mind! Once the baby is here she never leaves them alone but that means some alone time for you to rest and recover.
I'm sorry this is so long, its been rotting in my brain ever since I first read family life with the oc's!!
I've had the mental picture of when you first bring the baby/babies home the yanderes go to sleep and wake up with their darling out of bed! They immediately run around searching for you, but then they remember " oh fuck the baby!" They rush into the nursery to find their darling asleep on the floor beside the crib, their hand slotted between the bars holding onto their babies hand. Their heart warms but also it still scared them thinking about how you could've left and took their whole family with you. Their entire purpose for living gone. Sorry again!! I hope you don't feel too overwhelmed and are taking care of yourself, creative minds need rest and care!! Be safe blue! đŠľđ
i loved this so much :(((<33 i love seeing how people think about my characters. I really think you captured them well!!
i really understand that you want twins :)<3 i really want twins too. I wish I had a twin, but it's a bit too late for that, so having twins would be very sweet too. I love the feeling of knowing that my child has a best friend in all circumstances. I myself is the youngest of five children (where the others are all boys) and much older than me. I'd love to have someone like that <3
I think that all of them would become more and more protective whether they want to admit it or not (cough jerry cough) and would be even more suffocating ... escpecially if they can't find you right away >:)

Hi. How are you? Can I please have Sanji x female reader fluff with a bit of angst. The readerâs mom was a maid for the Vinsmokes and took the reader with her to work when the reader was a kid. Sanji and the reader became friends and promised to leave Germa together one day and start a life together When Sanji returns during WCI, the reader now works for the Vinsmokes. She tries to get close to Sanji again while Sanji pushes her away to keep the woman he truly loves safe from the family he is forced to marry into. In the end, Sanji invites her to join the Strawhats so they can fulfill their childhood promise. Sorry if itâs a lot. Thank you! đ§Ą
THE LADYS LOVE
genre: romance
word count: 666
A/N: sorry for the waitđŚ
Sanji was walking through the halls of the Germa castle when he noticed a silhouette of a girl his age. He rushed to hug Reiju with a smile. He jolted back when he didn't see the pink colors which his sister always wore. He was stunned since he never met any other girl here.
He made a little noise when he noticed the little lady, which alerted her. He was a shy boy, so he was scared to approach her. But the girl was a little more assured. She ran up to him to take a closer look at his face. He got easily scared and fell on his but.
She gave him a helping hand. He didn't know how to react, so he just silently sat there. "Common dummy, take my hand and get up." He immediately took her hand as to not get any more awkward. He also wanted to leave an impression so he shook her hands and exclaimed his name.
"I'M SANJI NICE TO MEET YOU"
She giggled at his attempt to be confident. "Wow, you really are a dummy." "N-no I'm not" he insisted. She laughed again but not at him, with him. He felt safe and happy in that moment.
Later they found a nice quiet place where no one would disturb them. They talked about why they are here. They talked about their parents. They talked about... you know... kid stuff. They really enjoyed their time together.
"Hey, dummy!" she yelped. "I'm not a dummy!" Sanji replied. She ignored his complaint and continued: "We will leave right? together!" "Y-YES" he stumbled upon his words. Like the kids they were they talked about how their life without germa would be.
When she and Sanji were in the middle of an escape a guard caught her. "Why are you running away? You can still be used as an extra maid." She yelled at Sanji to keep running. A tear escaped her eye when she was forced to leave her friend. She cried when she realized that she won't see him again.
Years pass by and the little girl turned into a grown woman. That young lady. That was you. You were her.
You got excited when you heard what all the commotion was about. Yes, you were excited but you still felt bad for the young boy you met years ago.
Sanji sitting frustrated in one of the halls. A cigarette in his mouth and a frown on his face. "Common dummy, cheer up!" When he heard those words he quickly realized who was yelling at him. Of course, it was you. Now a nice-looking adult woman full of youthful strength.
Sanjis eyes turned into hearts and he was all over you within seconds. He was enchanted by your beauty. He instantly fell in love as he yelled compliments your way.
You thought that you were finally going to be with the man you grew to love. You were met with the opposite when Vinsmoke Judge appeared. You knew about his personality from Sanji's stories. And you definitely weren't fond of him. You found him disturbing and hideous.
Sanji walked away which was a thing that you didn't expect. The man that looked like he could marry you right then and there was now avoiding you at all costs. You were smart enough to realize that he was protecting you.
You took a good look at his captain when he jumped out of the wedding cake. Oh, how you were happy that this man was Sanjis captain. You were even more pleased when you saw the rest of his friends. He was happy and you loved that.
Just when you were saying goodbye to him in your head he gabbed you along with his captain. After a long and eventful night, Luffy Sanji's captain woke up and straight up declared that you are his crew member now.
That night Sanji slept beside you cuddling you. Both of you were really pleased.

đŤGirlfailure Anon's Terrible Seduction ListđŤ
For Eliza, I'd probably start working out (gross), not for the purpose of bettering myself or anything, but just so I can smell bad. I wanna entice that little doggy nose of hers. I'd go on runs past wherever she's stationed for that day, acting all cute and innocent, maybe one day I'd fall over in front of her and scrape my knee, whining and sobbing like a wounded animal. Hopefully by that time my scent is rich enough she can't help but pounce on me.
For Bibi, I'm attending all of her executions and laughing obnoxiously at her jokes. Maybe I'll stand at the very back of the crowd and flash her one time.
If we ignore the fact I've already failed Selene by sleeping around a ton, for her I'd try the simple lonely girl at a bar technique. I don't even drink but I'll take one for the team, act super cute and naive, wowww a tall lady you're sooooo coooooool. I've never seen someone so biggggg, you should try lifting me up!! Please lift me up!! Put me on your shoulders!! I wanna see the world from up there!! That's when I've got her hook line and sinker, she plops me on her shoulders and I'm not wearing panties under my skirt. (I'm 5'3 btw please lift me up Selene)
Ellie is a difficult one. I honest to god have no idea how I'd seduce her. Sorry Ellie.
For Darla, I'm playing her own game back at her. I'm putting on a dumbass persona just for her. "Omg we WOULD make a cute couple!!! Could you IMAGINE if we dated, I'd be like, your cute little housewife!! Too bad you're wayyy too pretty to date someone like me, right Darly?". Play some truth or dare with her, play coy until she decides she's gonna fuck my brains out, then I've got her.
I'm trapping Theanna with the wombo combo, maid dress and lingere. One is part of my uniform obviously, but I intentionally keep it a little on the short side. I act incredibly delicate and kind, I'm formal and subserviant, obeying her every whim. "Yes lady Theanna. Anything you desire, your majesty.". One day I let her catch me crying softly to myself, if she bothers to ask me what's wrong I try to tell her it's nothing before revealing I'm just oh so heartbroken. You see, I fear that the one I love is due to be wedded soon, and not to me. It's just so tragic. Maybe it clicks with her that I'm referring to the suitors that have been swarming her lately, maybe it doesn't. Regardless, I let her catch me alone, so she can make me hers.
For Veronia, I'm wandering into the woods with a flower crown and a long, beautiful dress. I'm learning how to speak like a proper lady, acting like a scared princess who's afraid and lost in the woods. "It would just be oh so terrible if I was snatched up and violated by some terrifying beast..." maybe I give her a chase first, see how long it takes for her to catch me. Oh and I'm making sure that the dress is easily tearable. Shoulderless too.
And finally, Kassien. Who is also really difficult because realistically I can't hold down a job at all, but if we pretend I could, and somehow end up working in the same building as her, I'm activating full clichè mode and bumping into her with a stack of papers, falling on my ass and scrambling on all fours to pick everything up. Making sure to apologise profusely as I stick my ass up in my very short skirt, wearing a thong of course. Maybe I start crying and whining about how I'm gonna be fired, working here is just oh so difficult but I need the money, I really just wish I could be taken care of. I hate being independant. I kind of just act pathetic until she takes charge in the situation. She better hurry up with it tho because I'm definetly getting fired for looking up a guide on how to seduce a demon on company time.
-girlfailure
I too have failed Selene already lol.
