But allas her knight in shining armor Mizu kills the guy (Specifically beheading him because why not). And after that cues a montage of Mizu and Reader hanging out together and falling in love. đđđ
pairing: mizu x fem!apothecary!reader
warning(s): swearing
a/n: PART FIVE BABY HERE WE GO!!!!
summary: after taking in the strange samurai, you wake up the next morning to a man, pushing his way through your door. you hold your own, of course; but heâs too much. thankfully, you have a night in shining armor to protect you.
word count: 1,110 words / 5,890 charactersÂ
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
you were asleep, so calm, so serene. it was surprisingly you were so calm despite having a strange samurai in your house.
but he hadnât given you a problem all night; hadnât stirred, never even made noise. for a strange house guest, he was quite the respectful one.
thatâs when you were jerked away; a loud pounding through your door.
you sprung out of bed, grabbing the small knife that was nestled under your pillow. you kept that there just in case anyone.. came for you.
you leapt to your feet. when you made your way out of your bedroom and into the main room, you spotted a man.
he was absolutely ten times your size, and a lot stronger, too. but you werenât some prissy girl who was gonna back down from a fight.
you leapt at him, barreling him onto his side, you were making slashes down his sides, through his chest.
it didnât immobilize him, but it sure slowed him down for the time being.
he rolled you over, pinning you to the ground. he raised a katana above your head, ready to stab clean through.
you squeezed your eyes shut, bracing for the impact.Â
slice.
the man stopped moving, dropping the katana on the ground with a loud clank.
it felt beside your head, your breathing heavy as you watched his head fall from his neck and onto the ground. you were splattered with blood.
you wriggled from under his weight, your breathing still heavy as you looked up to see who it was.Â
mizu. the samurai. of course it was him.
âhas he hurt you?â
those were the only words she said, not even taking a minute to acknowledge sheâd just cut a man's head off and splattered your house with his blood.
you didnât answer, to lost in the moment.
she grabbed you by the shoulder.
âsnap out of it,â she hissed. âhas he hurt you?â
you shook your head ânoâ, gazing at mizu with wide eyes.
âyou saved me,â you huffed. âwhy in hell did you save me? i threatened to kill you, just yesterday!â
âyou didnât, though. here I am, standing in your house, under your hospitality,â mizu narrowed her eyes. âthe least I could do is not let you die.â
you nod a little.
âthank you,â you bow your head in respect. âthank you.â
she nods solemnly, bowing her head just as you did. she stood up, sheathing her sword back in its scabbard.Â
âmy house is drenched in blood now, though,â you gather yourself to your feet. your white flowers were now drenched in the blood of your pursuer.Â
she sighs, âI will help you clean,â she chuckles a little. âit is my fault that your house smells of the rotten blood of this man.â
you laugh back, âthanks,â you murmur.
she takes off her hat and glasses, placing them to the side. by doing so, it revealed those ocean blue eyes. they matched his name, didnât they?
you grabbed rags, passing one to mizu before you began to clean up the dirty blood of this man.
long before you knew itâit had been weeks since she had left.
you had serviced the samurai in your keep longer than you had expected to.
you learned of her. you learned of her quest; that she in fact was not a man. Instead, a woman, masking herself as a man to complete said quest.
and you were certainly catching feelings for her, woman or not. âdemonâ or not.
one day you had been cooking; making noodles for the two of you to sit down and eat. she had been out, collecting herbs for youâwhen she had stumbled in. she had the herbs; but she was also covered in blood.
you had gone into full panic. what in the world had she gotten herself into?
whatever, that didnât matter.
you had patched her up; rubbing her face of blood gently with a warm rag.
thatâs when your eyes locked for the first time; holding that gaze maybe longer than you should have.
you were pretty sure thatâs when you first fell for her; looking into the beautiful blue eyes as you cleaned her bloody face.
and the time that she had been cooking with you, and you had accidentally spilled noddles all over her garment.
you had both thought it was absolutely hilarious; the warrior covered in the noddles, herbs and spices that her hostess had been cooking up for her.
and the other time she had found you crying late at night, nestled in your bed. you had been looking over old letters from your family; why you did that to yourself, causing yourself that pain, she didnât know.
but she had comforted you through it regardless. rubbing your back and keeping you close as you cried, letting all those pent up emotions out.
and here she was; still staying with you, it had been two months now.Â
you were both smitten for each other. but you'd die before you admitted it.
you were staring up at the sparkling sky, watching the constellations turn around the world.
you would keep glancing at her. she was more beautiful to you than any star the sky could offer you.
so badly did you want to tell her your feelings. but you had no idea if she would even reciprocate; but you really wanted to try.
maybe words wasnât the way to go..
you gently slid your hand closer to hers, and you could feel your heart pounding in your chest as you did so. your face was on fire.
your fingertips brushed hers, which finally got her attention. you were sitting on the small rattan stairs to your cabin, your legs gently touching.Â
she glanced at you, her eyes wide as she did so. but she didnât slide her hand away; if anything, she slid it closer.
you wrapped your fingers around hers, smiling softly. the warmth was nice. god, it was so nice.
she rubbed her thumb atop of your knuckles.Â
she smiled. it was tender. it was warm; it wasâŚÂ loving. It was something you had never seen from the samurai in the months you had been with her.
you leant in, your breath shuddering as your lips inched closer to hers. though it was her who closed the gap, her hand gently rested on the back of your neck.
you let you lips linger on hers for a moment; the feeling was soft and warm, something you had never felt before.Â
you pulled back, letting your forehead press against hers.
the start to a love; to a beautiful, blossoming love.
KĂŚmpe Størâs life part 4:
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4.5
Welcome to High School Stør!
Puberty is hitting Stør like a train. Heâs also growing rapidly now. Ah yes⌠the awkward teenage phase! Stør still has a baby face COVERED in acne. Heâs very self-conscious about his acne because one pimple about the size of a human fistđ and hard to miss.
The bullying has increased in the last few years, with people realizing Stor is just a big push over. Literally. He would never retaliate or raise a hand to anyone who mistreats him. Both out of worry he might accidentally hurt them and because Stør doesnât have it in him to hurt anyone on purpose.
Thankfully, Stør has Yilan to stick up for him, and he does. Constantly. (Strega canât do much, sheâs still in middle school.)
By now, Yilanâs father ran out on them, he sends money, but they havenât been in contact in a few years. Yilan HATES his momâs new dead beat boyfriend, so he stays away from home. Yilan practically moves in with Stør, staying after school and on weekends. Luckily for Yilan, Stør has two dads who love Yilan.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
Itâs in his freshman year of High school that Stør meets Mizu Rivers for the first timeâŚ
She was in his 3rd period English Lit class. At first Mizu didn't stand out from the rest of the class, she stared at Stør or acted nervous when he was near. Not an unusual reaction, Stør tries to not take it personally, he can only imagine how intimidating he looks to others. But it still hurts. A lot.
----------
It's not until Stør gets (reluctantly) assigned to a group project with Mizu and her two "Friends" Nero (A water nymph & Mizu's cousin) and Lilith (a Succubus), that Stør finally interacts with Mizu.
Nero and Lilith slack off on their work and largely ignore Stør as he's trying to get the group on track to write their paper on the book "Gulliver's Travel's." Mizu doesn't make eye contact or talk to Stør so he's left at a loss for what to do.
Stør: H-hey, maybe we should actually start working on the project like the teacher saidâŚ
Nero: If you want it done so bad, do it YOURSELF. Youâre a big boyâŚ
Nero: (looks down) âŚliterallyâŚ
Stør: đđľâđŤđ§
Nero: Whatever. Let's go girls. đ
Nero stands up and leaves the classroom. While poor Stør is left red in the face and realing.
In his shock he looked at the other girls at the window. Lilith dgaf and just walked after Nero. And Mizu--- did... is Mizu making direct eye contact with Stør for the first time?
He could have imagined it, in fact he probably did, but she held fast. She quietly mouths the words "I'm sorry," and quickly runs after her friends.
Stør was left sitting alone, dumbfounded, and at a loss of what just happened and what to do next.
âââââââââââââââââââââââââ
That night, Stør contemplates telling the teacher of his peers unwillingness to do the assignment, when he gets an email from Mizu:
"Hey Store, Story, Stor? (However you spell it, idk ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ)
sorry about Nero and Lilith today, they never want to do their work. But don't worry about the assignment! ;D I'll type My part and their parts. Just worry about yours!
See you tomorrow!"
Stør quickly messaged back:
"Hi M. Rivers,
Thanks for reaching out, and explaining the situation, I really appreciate it!
I think it might be better if we split the assignment between the two of us?
I can write Lilith's part and you can do Nero's?
I don't want you to get overwhelmed with extra work!
See you tomorrow,
PS. My name is spelled "Stør""
A little later, Stør receives this email:
"That would be lovely!
Thank you, Stør!
Ps. just call me "Mizu" ;)"
it's a little specific, but was thinking about loser!mizu going with reader to a karaoke as official girlfriends (yay!) and discovering that reader was a massive theater kid in high school or something, seems in character to me lol
Karaoke
a/n: I loved this sm I rlly hope u like it đ I'm a sucker for loser mizu I need to write headcannons for her đ
For texting akemi is pink you are purple
Word count:997
Warnings: swearing, alcohol mentioned, I think that's it? Lmk if I missed one
Mizu x reader enjoy âşď¸
------------------------------
The lights beamed across the floor of the karaoke bar, a small disco ball decorating the ceiling of the room, drenching the room in small flickering lights, the floor and the small platform was covered in confetti, probably from a previous party.
I looked around for my girlfriend who thankfully was right behind me, following me like a lost puppy.
"You good hon?" I yelled over the beating music of the speakers and whoever was singing
"Yeah I'm fine" She smiled, still a nervous blush adorned her cheeks and tip of her nose at the closeness of the crowd
We had been invited to a karaoke bar by taigen, akemi, and mizus best friend ringo after we had officially become girlfriends after months of dating and even more pining and flirting (though the flirting was more you while mizu did the blushing ;])
I grabbed her hand as we made our way to the bar, sending akemi a quick text that we had arrived and were grabbing drinks
Hey!! We're here js grabbing drinks what room r yall
We're in room 4 âşď¸
Great well be there soon!
"Mizu! Their in room 4!" I yelled over to my girlfriend as she grabbed our drinks, I leaned over grabbing mine from her hand
"Great, are you ready?" She inquired
"Yeah! Cmon let's go!" I said radiating excitement.
We made our way through the crowd mizu grabbed my hand squeezing it, obviously uncomfortable with the overwhelming amount of people, I gently pulled her arm towards me, her front pressed against my back.
"You good baby?" I whisper yelled into her ear to ensure she could hear me
"Yeah, crowds just a little much" She sputtered, flashing me a small smile "let's just get to the room, I think it's upstairs
"Ok" I nodded at her, changing directions and heading towards the stairs, not letting go of her hand
Once we finally made it to the room I knocked to let akemi know we were there
"Y/n! Hey omg it's been to long" She squealed as she hugged me
"Its been 2 days" I laughed
"I know! Way to long" She said back with a giggle at the end as she moved over to hug mizu
"Oh mizu! Youre gonna love this! Don't worry" akemi said since mizu had always been the shyest of the group so obviously karaoke would send mizu into a spiral, I mean cmon, singing infront of people? Are you crazy? But she had been convinced somehow
As mizu and I followed akemi into the room, taigen was already belting his heart out to an katy perry song, clearly already very tipsy
"HI mizu" ringo smiled brightly at his bsf
"Hey" She smiled back, moving to sit next to him, dragging you lightly behind her by your intertwined hands
"Mizu! Cmon sing with me!!" Taigen yelled drunkenly at her
"No I'm good" She chuckled nervously, obviously very uncomfortable with the idea of singing katy perry I front of her brand new girlfriend
However that attitude changed the second te alcohol hit her system
2 hours later, 5 drinks in, and at least 17 songs later, mizu had been convinced to start singing, as I was laughing at taigens idiocy with akemi and ringo, mizu and taigen were searching for more songs to do
"The Heather's? Tf is that" taigen slurred, the alcohol had already hit his system awhile ago
"They have heathers?!?!" I practically jumped from my seat, rushing over to where my girl friend and taigen were sitting, pushing taigen away
"Oh my God no way I fucking love them!!" I said towards mizu
"You watched the heathers?" Mizu said, kind of thunderstruck
"Yes!! I used to be the biggest theater kid" I said vibrating with excitement as I looked ta the songs
Mizu just sat there with the biggest doe eyes looking up at me"What?" I laughed as I looked at her adorable shocked expression
"I didn't know you liked them" She mumbled looking away shyly her blush turning a bright red making her palms sweat
"Cmon! Sing with me!" I said as I turned on dead girl walking
We spent the rest of the time belting out lyrics and arguing about the best song/musical, and ofc my favorite was ride the cyclone while mizus was phantom of the opera
Once everyone was all tired out mizu and I headed toward my car
"So.." mizu started, something obviously on her mind
"So..." I said with a giggle bumping her
She let out a small laugh, her blush from earlier returning once more
"I didn't take you as a theater kid" She stumbled out
"No?" I laughed
"No definitely not" She laughed back
"Well aren't I just full of suprises" her blush deepening as I winked at her, throwing my arm around her neck, forcing her down a bit since she was very tall, leaving a few pecks on her cheek, finding it oh so amusing as to watch her blush become deeper and deeper turning her into a tomato
"Alright alright cmon we gotta get home" She stuttered out
"Whatever you say Rudolph" I winked and laughed at her annoyed expression, opening the passenger door for her
We rode home with the ride the cyclone soundtrack on low as I told her all about the plays I did in middle school and high school
"No way you were in a Beetlejuice play you're fucking with me" She said with a laugh
"I'm not!" I giggled at her punching her lightly
"What part?" She said through her laughter
"Lydia deetz!!" I said still laughing along with her
"No way you got a lead partâ
âI did!!â
Once we got home and changed into pajamas, I put on beetle juice and we spent the rest of our night cuddled up watching our favs
"Goodnight Rudolph" I mumbled sleepily with a subtle smirk adorning my face
"Goodnight my little theater kid" She said right back
------------------------------------
Thank you for reading I hope yall liked this âşď¸
a pastoral short story, or a confession between lovers near a fishing village in the summer
pairing: taigen x transmasc!mizu
rating: mature (16+) [non-explicit sexual content]
tags: third-person pov, he/him pronouns used for mizu, headcanon, plot? donât know her/kicked her straight out of the window, aftercare, odaxelagnia/biting kink, authorâs sleep schedule is fucked up so donât mind him mildly losing his marbles progressively
a/n (post-upload): so, i apologise, but i'm a dumbass, and it has just occurred to me that events in that episode were taking place in spring, but i'd prefer not to change the title and the setting, so yeah, sorry again
summary: post-wrestling scene, but it went *slightly* differently
word count: 729 words/4127 characters
âHey, TaigenâŚâ
Mizu spoke softly, reaching out his arm, almost touching Taigenâs shoulder. âMay I?â
The latter silently nodded, still looking away.
After the moment of quiet and Mizuâs gentle, comforting strokes across his companionâs back, Taigen cleared his throat and faced him.
âI think I must tell you something.â
âHm?â
âI think I might find you⌠attractive.â
Mizuâs eyes widened as his heart skipped a beat and started pounding, and he slowly reciprocated the eye contact.
âHow long have you been feeling this way?â
âFor quite some time.â
The temporary silence was filled by the call of a cuckoo bird from the sunny forest outside.
âIâve been thinking about you, too, Taigen. Quite a lot, actually. So, I think you should know that the feelingâs mutual.â
âOhâŚâ Taigen felt heat rising to his face and looked away.
âSo, what do we do about it?â
âThat might be the craziest thing youâve heard from me so far, but,â Taigen looked into Mizuâs piercing blue eyes, which had already been looking at him intensely. âWhat do you think if we⌠*wrestle* a little bit more⌠To release some pent-up energy⌠But please, donât feel pressured, though, I donât wanna make you feel uncomfortable in any way.â
The heat radiating from the fireplace near them became more intense.
âI would love to. But then, you should close the door first. Unless you want to look awkwardly in the villagersâ eyes tomorrow as you go there to buy some food, and mind you, Kohama is a little bit far from here,â a smirk ran across Mizuâs face.
He took a moment to take a sip of tea, soothing the dryness in his mouth, as he watched his now slightly bashful rival fulfil his request.
âAnd I have only one condition: my clothes stay on me. Is that okay with you?â
âSure,â Taigen nodded.
âGood. And I think I already have an idea of how we can work with that,â Mizu tilted his head to the side while meeting Taigenâs gaze as they both laughed light-heartedly. âI will wipe that smug grin from your pretty face and replace it with something else; you know that?â
***
Taigen collapsed on the floor, desperately trying to catch some air. A warm, soft hand touched his cheek as he continued panting, his eyes looking love-drunkenly and tiredly at the man before him.Â
Soon, both Mizuâs hands explored his upper body, taking regular stops to caress and take a better look at hickeys and bite marks all over him. Finally, they moved down and rested on Taigenâs stomach.
âPerfect. Do you feel like your body is the most beautiful painting in the world right now?â
His chest rose and fell sharply as he let out a chuckle.Â
âOh, quit with your lovey-dovey shit,â Taigen raises his hand to stroke Mizuâs cheek.Â
He cupped it with both hands, carefully guiding them towards his lips and kissing it. After that, Mizu leaned above him, gave him a few short-lived pecks on his lips, cheeks, and neck, and finally embraced him.
âAre you feeling all right? Maybe youâd like to drink some water?â
âYeahâŚâ Iâm feeling *more* than all right... But I think I could use some water.â
âIâll be right back then.â
Taigen laid back in the same spot he had before, listening to the occasional muffled sounds of the leaves against the winds and some birds exchanging their songs. The afternoon heat was finally vanishing.Â
Mizu eventually came back, carrying a small bucket. He kneeled down, scooped some water with a ladle, and, by carefully holding it, helped Taigen quench his thirst. Then he put the ladle down and started examining marks over the latterâs body once again.Â
âDoes it hurt anywhere?â
Taigen shook his head.
âNot that much.â
âHmm,â he was inspecting for any signs of broken skin and failed to find them. âSeems all right.â
Mizu leaned in and kissed Taigen once again before helping him put his clothes back on and getting up.
He walked up to the door and took a peek. The peaceful, pastoral-like evening outside the house was nearly quiet.
âI think weâve still got some time,â Mizu closed the door, returned to the previous spot and laid down. âCome over here.â
Taigen joined him, and the other one cuddled up to him, hiding his face in the crook of the formerâs neck.
Mizu X Fem!Reader
Summary: You're a hunter living in a village near Kyoto. One day you go out to get firewood when a snowstorm sets in, but a mysterious traveler agrees to help you back. You give him food and shelter as thanks, but his stay lasts longer than expected.
Winter was the worst time of year. The wind grew colder, carrying snow that piled up in a matter of days. You used to love winter, it was the only time of year your father didnât take you hunting. Now you know why, now you know animals hated winter as much as you did, preferring to hibernate than deal with the harsh weather. Unfortunately, you didnât have that option. You needed to eat, but how could you when there was nothing to hunt? Whatever. Thinking about it would only get you worked up. You need to conserve your energy for the rest of the season.
Like the bright individual you were, you decided to go cut firewood in the middle of a storm. Not like you had much of a choice. You ran out the previous day, but decided it was a problem for another day. Well the next day arrived, and you needed firewood. Despite wearing three layers, the cold bit into your skin. Your fingers grew numb as you gripped the axe, struggling to gather enough breath to cut down a single tree. What the hell were you even doing? Just look for smaller wood. You smacked your forehead. Duh! Â
In a stroke of pure luck, you managed to find perfectly cut firewood in the middle of the forest. The remnants of a fireplace sat nearby, probably a traveler who left from the cold. Whatever the case, you gathered the wood and made your way back. The storm had grown fiercer, winds whistling past you as you struggled to see through the snow. What a nightmare. At this rate youâll get lost and freeze to death, all because you didnât want to cut firewood yesterday.Â
A blue figure stood in the distance, their cloak blowing in the wind. Initially you ignored them, but as the storm picked up you quickly realized there was no making it back to the village. Against your better judgment, you approached the figure. Maybe he can help. He hadn't moved an inch since you first saw him. A wooden hat obscured his features, his feet dug into the snow.
You cleared your throat. "Excuse me?"
The man said nothing, not even nodding in reply. He raised his head to get a better look at you, revealing what his comically large hat was hiding. The orange glasses did a poor job at hiding his eye color, a dark blue that started through your soul. Every bone in your body froze, paralyzed under his piercing gaze. What's up with his eyes? Was he white? No, he lookedâŚmixed. You looked down, your gaze falling upon the sword on his waist. Great. He wasn't just half-white, he was a swordsman too. If he wanted, he could cut you down right here and now. A lump slid down your throat; you better not give him a reason to.Â
"What?" he uttered.Â
"Uh." You took a step back, not wanting to stand too close to this mysterious swordsman. Unfortunately you still needed his help, and you scrambled for the right words. "I'm lost, but my village is nearby. Can you help me?"
Something about him that sent a chill down your spine. He wasnât moved by the winds or the snow, standing firm like an oak tree in the middle of a storm. âDoes your village happen to be near Kyoto?â he said, his voice nearing a whisper.
You nodded. âWell, itâs not super close but close enough, I guess.â
The man lifted his head, just enough for you to get another glimpse at his eyes. What an intense, unforgiving gaze. It stared right through you, like he wasnât even considering you. After what felt like an eternity, he finally gave his answer.Â
âVery well.â He walked past you. âShow me the way.â
Relief washed over you. It was stupid to rely on a stranger to lead you home, especially a man, but itâs not like you had a choice. Besides, he didnât seem so bad. Most men would have jumped on you the moment they realized you were lost, but he paid it no mind. He didnât seem like the type to care about many things.Â
You noticed that his kimono was worn and muddied, and so was his cloak. His feet dug deep into the snow, allowing him to push past the roaring winds. Who was this man? More importantly, whatâs his name? In your haste you forgot to ask him, which was pretty rude now that you think about it.
âBy the way, whatâs your name?â
âMizu,â he muttered.Â
His voice was so soft you could barely hear it through the howling wind. âMizu?â A strange name for a strange man.Â
âAnd whatâs your name?â Mizu asked.
You told him your name and he nodded, continuing his trek through the snow. âHeâs quiet too.â Maybe he wouldnât be so bad.
Navigating through the storm was difficult, but thankfully Mizu helped you back before your fingers fell off. It was ironic. You lived here, but you needed someone else's help to get home. Then again, there wasn't much to return to. The village was just a collection of 10 to 15 homes.
"What a small village," Mizu muttered. There was something in his voice, a certain disdain you couldn't put your finger on. "Where's your house?"
You took him to your house. It was a small wooden hut with two rooms: the main room and the bedroom. Snow slipped its way inside, the gale making it hard to close the door. Mizu helped, easily slamming it shut. He was quite strong for a skinny guy, so strong that you didn't expect the door to close so quickly and fell forward.Â
Mizu caught you before your head knocked against the door. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, thanks."
He looked at you. A hint of concern glimmered through his orange glasses, even if it was for a moment.Â
"I see." He let go and sat at the edge of the room. "Please let me know when the food is done."
"Oh, alrightâŚ"
You went to the fireplace and quickly lit a fresh fire. It was exactly what you needed after spending who knows how long in that snowstorm. Too long, that's for sure. The cold melted from your skin as you rubbed your hands together, and you stole a glance at your mysterious guest. He'd taken off his hat and set it aside, along with his cloak, but his glasses stayed on.Â
Mizu was an observant man. He must've known you noticed his eye color back in the snowstorm, so why bother keeping the glasses on?  Â
"Is something wrong?" he asked.Â
You looked back to the fireplace. A part of you wanted to lie and say nothing's wrong, but you were a horrible liar, so it was better to tell the truth. Hopefully he wouldn't cut you down for it. "Why do you wear those?"
"I'm sure you know why."
You hesitated. "I just want to know why."
A long silence filled the air. Mizu said, "You don't want to see me without them."
"How are you so sure?"
"How are you sure you won't recoil in fear when I do," he retorted.
He was right. You didn't know if you'd be afraid or feel the opposite, but there was one thing you knew.Â
"You helped me in the snowstorm when you could've easily let me die. I don't want to make you feel like you have to hide something about yourself," you fumbled for the right words, "I'm just trying to be nice."
"Enough,"Â Mizu spat. "I don't need your pity."
It wasnât pity; it was the farthest thing from pity. What you felt was gratitude. Sure he was strangely quiet, but if he hadnât helped you then you wouldâve been a frozen corpse on the side of the road. But it wasnât your place to talk about this. The two of you just met, after all. Offending him was the last thing you wanted, so you said nothing. You looked at the fire. It was large enough; time to start cooking.
You placed a pot atop the fire, letting it heat up before dumping in some water. There were some dried meats and vegetables in storage, so dried meat stew it was. You went to the back and brought out the ingredients, laying them out on a small wooden counter. The meat was ready to cook and the water was boiling, all you had to do was cut up the vegetables. Much like collecting firewood, you completely forgot to sharpen the knife. Not because youâre lazy or anything, you just canât find the energy to in-between hunting and chopping wood. The life of a hunter was a tiring one, and boring too. Nothing ever happens in this village, and the things that do are just typical neighborhood gossip.Â
Pain stung your finger. Blood dripped onto the counter. Damn. Thinking about neighborhood gossip left you distracted, and you ended up cutting yourself. It didnât hurt, but now dinner preparations would be delayed. Just great. Youâre stuck in the middle of a snowstorm, the tips of your fingers are freezing even inside, and you canât eat anything to warm up.Â
âYouâre bleeding,â Mizu said.
You wrapped your finger in some cloth. âSorry, I guess dinner will have to wait.â
He looked at the cutting board. âItâs alright, I'll do it.â
âBut youâre my guest.â
âItâs better than not eating.â He picked the knife up. âIâll call you when itâs done. In the meantime, take care of your finger.â
Despite the knifeâs dull edge, he cut through the vegetables without issue. You took his advice and dressed your wound, wrapping it in some gauze before returning to the main room.Â
Mizu was stirring the pot, tasting occasionally to season. The vegetables were already mixed in, and so were the meats. He briefly turned to you before his attention returned to the pot, eyeing it so it wouldn't burn. A man who knew how to cook? Thatâs like seeing a dragon in real life.
âThe fire is too hot,â he said, âNext time you should keep it low.â
You sat beside him. âI didnât know you could cook.â
âI can do a lot of things.â
âLike what?â
Mizu shrugged.Â
âCan you chop wood?â
He nodded.
âDo you know how to clean?â
âThatâs specific.â
You chuckled awkwardly. âSorry, Iâm just not used to seeing a guy cook, and do other stuff like that.â
âYou mean housework? Everyone should know.â
You lit up. âExactly! Itâs so annoying. When my father used to make me do everything. Cooking, cleaning, decoratingâeven though we have nothing to decorate with.â
A chuckle slipped past Mizuâs lips. âI know the feeling.â
You raised a curious brow. âYou do?â
âYeah.â He paused. âI used toâŚwork for someone, he made me do things like that.â
âYou were a servant?â
âNot exactly?â
âA slave?â
He gave you a glare.
You tried to laugh it off. âHaha, sorry.â
Mizuâs gaze returned to the pot. He was silent for a moment, like he was digging up old memories. âHe treated me kindly. Up to a point, anyway.â
âWhat do you mean?â You were definitely overstepping now.
Thankfully he didnât pay it any mind, he just kept stirring. The stew had a thick consistency, dried meats and vegetables swimming in the dark brown soup. Mizu set the spoon down, and behind his sapphire eyes you caught a glimpse of something you've never seen from him, vulnerability.Â
âI helped him around the house. It didnât end well.â
You sensed that there was more to it, but didnât want to push. âI think the stewâs ready.â
Mizu nodded. You poured him a bowl before having one yourself. A wave of umami swept you into a trance. The meat was sweet and savory, the vegetables had absorbed the stewâs flavors perfectly, and the soup itself was hearty. It was exactly what you needed on a cold winter night.Â
âThis is so good,â you said.Â
âItâs alright.â He grabbed your plate. âLet me wash it for you.â
âAre you sure? Itâs my house, let me do it.â
Mizu insisted. âIâm sheltering in your home, eating your food. This is the least I can do.â
How strange. Not only was he soft spoken, polite, and knew how to cookâhe was also nice. Normally this would set off alarms in your head. A man being nice usually meant he had ulterior motives, but you didnât get that impression from Mizu. He didnât look at you with desire nor indifference. You werenât used to men like him; you didnât even know they existed. Yet there he was, cooking you dinner and washing your dishes because you let him stay the night.Â
âYouâre very polite,â you said.
Mizu set the dishes under the counter. He returned to the fire, warming his hands. âI try to be.â
There wasnât anything else to say, so you joined him by the fire. The cold bit into your skin, a shiver running down your spine. You rubbed your hands, wondering if there would ever be an escape from winter. With the animals hibernating, the chances of catching any game were slim to none. It wonât be until late winterâwhen the ice starts meltingâthat youâd see animals again. Until then there would be nothing to hunt; no food. This was going to be tough a winter. Another breeze wisped by, another shiver running through you.Â
âAre you cold?â Mizu asked.
âIt's nothing.â
Mizu grabbed his cloak, his voice low from the cold. âHere.â
âOh, I canâtââ
He handed you his cloak. âTake it.â
You sensed he didnât want to make a big deal out of it, so you didnât. You took his cloak. It was large and billowy, easily helping you warm up.Â
âThank you.â
Mizu nodded. He walked to the corner of the room and laid down. âGood night.â
âAre you sleeping on the floor?â
âYes.â
âI have a spare futon in the bedroom, you can sleep there.â
He hesitated, but sleeping on a warm mattress was too tempting an offer to turn down. "Thank you. "
You took him to the bedroom and laid out the spare futon. It was something you often did for your late father, like second nature. Because of that there was little distance between the mattresses, something you hadn't realized before you laid it out.Â
Damn. You didn't want to give the wrong impression, so you tried to push the other futon farther away. Mizu noticed your apprehension but thankfully said nothing. He simply thanked you once you were done and lied down, eager to sleep on something soft after a long time.
It was strange sleeping next to a stranger, but you were relieved. Mizu hadn't read into your intentions, and you got to repay his kindness. You even caught yourself thinking it's a shame that he'd leave in the morning. If it were possible, you'd like to cook him a proper meal before he leavesâwithout cutting your finger. Â
Read the rest here.
Dumping some BES fanfic ideas that have been bouncing around in my head because I need to write them down somewhere (lots of Fowzu, because I have the brainrot).
Hunger Games AU, because that's something I've been wanting to write for years. Long-form. Mizu is reaped and Taigen volunteers in a last ditch effort to save his status after his father died, but confesses that he was debating on it until he realized it would give him a shot at killing Mizu. Unfortunately for them, they're roped into acting out a fake romance to endear themselves to the audience. Fake dating enemies to lovers Taimizu for a start, debating on possible side ships.
Fowzu smut, two chapters. Madame Kaji gets her hands on Mizu before they try to storm the castle and convinces them to take a slightly more subtle approach, disguised as one of her workers come to entertain Abijah and his guests. It does not go according to plan.
Modern AU Fowzu, long-form. Mizu hasn't dated in two years, since he had a bad breakup with Mikio, who couldn't deal with Mizu coming out as transmasc. He recently started working as a bouncer at a nightclub where Abijah is a regular, and he keeps hitting on Mizu. Mizu can barely stand him, but he enjoys the attention far too much and despite knowing what a bad idea it is, he decides to give Abijah a shot. Plot with some porn, enemies with benefits to lovers, surprising soft.
Mizu x Akemi x Taigen x Ringo, post-canon shameless fluff, oneshot. At the end of Mizu's revenge quest, she and her loved ones move into a mountain village to recuperate. She and Ringo cause quite a stir, a pair of second class citizens who keep spending the night with that rich married couple.
Gen fic exploring Abijah's backstory after the Nine Years War. Probably a oneshot, but my character studies and backstory fics tend to get long. Headcanons all the way down. I have a lot of thoughts about his past that might be interesting context for how I write him in the present.
Akemizu roleswap, unknown length. Wanted to figure out how to swap their roles while maintaining their social statuses and gender presentation, and I haven't 100% figured it out, but I'm thinking about Akemi being an assassin who works with knives and poison, and Mizu being a sex worker with a chip on their shoulder who presents as a boy rather than a woman.
Gen, pre-canon/canon divergence, oneshot. Mizu takes a job for Heiji. I know nothing about the plot itself for this one, I just want to write Mizu unwittingly working for Abijah and the horror and rage of finally connecting the dots.
#blue eye samurai#sunny.txt#please let me know if any of these seem interesting#I work best when I work on 2/3 things at once#I need to pick something to write alongside The Oni's Child#don't know what though
YOO BROTHERS ANON BACK FROM THE DEAD? My phone started to fucking die half way (like extreme lag, keyboard stopped working at times, sudden shut offs, etc) and I was too scared to work on this in fear it'd get deleted. But im fucking back and have a new phone so I was able to finally finish. Plus after I finished the Brothers AU stuff I decided I hated Tip of The Iceburg AU lore and wanted to redo it so held off til I got that mostly done. I'm also trying to redo From Future to Past a lil bit but thats going slowly and decided I already waited way to long. Some other stuff happened as well like falling out of the fandom (Breath of The Wild and Linked Universe I got into and am actually still kinda in) then getting tossed back in but, anyway there's some smaller details I left out of Rans time living in the wild but everything here is the big stuff.Â
Keep in mind most of this happens when he's just 13. And he never acknowledges or treats his trauma, leaving it to build and affect him more and more over time.Â
When Ran first steps out of Mizu and into the world, he has nothing but a sword at his back and a book with little information on how to survive at his hip. The book really only provides him how to make certain things (like tools) and some basic information (Spiders are passive in daytime, how to farm, and basic information about each nether biome). The book acts more like a brief overview of the overworld and little information on how to survive than an actual survival book. Because of this the book is basically useless, Ran eventually uses it as a way of marking down notes and ripping out papers to cover wounds and tie things. He quickly learns that sleeping in high places (like a tree or a hole in a mountain) is the safest possible place to sleep, as no mobs or people can get him. Though due to the nights of constant screaming from mobs, his own internal fighting, and eventual hunting, he develops insomnia and paranoia. Leaving him unable to close his eyes in fear of being ambushed, believing himself to be forever unsafe and in danger. When he does manage to sleep he keeps his weapons nearby (like in his hand or under his pillow) and jumps awake at the slightest sound.Â
He moves around constantly, never staying in one place for more than 2 weeks. He eventually finds a snow biome and after seeing the little amount of mobs and knowing the snow is to deep for any sane human to try to travel through, he decides to stay there for a entire year and a half before moving again. During this time he grows both physically and mentally. He goes from being a small, lithe 5'5 13 year old to being a strong 6'7 15 year old. He also uses this time to come to terms with what happened and swear revenge against Ranbob for everything he's been through and everyone who's died. Even when Ran came to terms with what his brother did, the promise "Ill never abandon you." Continues to ring in his head, which does nothing but fuel his hatred, believing his brother has been lying to him ever since he was a child. While also growing his knowledge on the world and his survival knowledge, becoming an almost perfect survivalist.Â
When he was first alone and dealing with all the emotions brought upon him, he finds out he's hunted very suddenly. He first approached Raq (who he didn't know at the time) when he was desperate and fresh out of Mizu, asking him if there's any nearby town or city or really anything. Raq pretends to want to help Ran and let's him stay at his camp, giving him food and a warm place to sleep. But its 2 full days later, deep in the night when Raq finally trys to attack him, aiming to incapacitate him. But Ran is able to escape him and run away but not without a injury.Â
During the fight Raq manages to hit him, specifically on his left ear. He manages to cut deep, but not deep enough, leaving the top of his ear just barely hanging on. Ran runs away and actually has a bit of a head start due to him tripping Raq. But Raq manages to follow/track him, due to the blood flowing out of Rans ear. Ran eventually realizes Raq is tracking him by the blood trail he's leaving, so he stops, steals himself, and rips off the remaining part of his ear, barely holding back a yell, then Ran pushes his hand down on the wound and continues to run. Raq finds the ear and simply hums, intrigued by the lengths Ran will go to escape, before turning around, deciding to let Ran escape this time, because he knows he'll see him again. Ran continues to run, terrified and borderline crying due to the fear and pain. For the next 3 days he believes he is still being followed by Raq so he continues to run, never resting until he eventually collapses from exhaustion. His ear eventually heals over but never grows back, it becomes a reminder of the fact he is being constantly hunted by people and will never escape them.Â
Ran encounters Raq a total of 32 times during his time living out in the wild. And every time Ran manages to get away, though sometimes more injured than others. Eventually it gets to the point Raq greets Ran like a old friend. After their 3rd encounter Raq starts to bring others with him, eventually he has 5 others helping him hunt Ran. Though Ran grows and is able to either outwit them by using traps or is just simply able to avoid them most of the time. Though he still gets hit at times, once he made a mistake and a trap failed, leading to him getting stabbed and passing out cause blood loss.
The Nether is less than kind to Ran but kinder than the overworld. He gets shot a lot from both ghasts and skeletons. And almost falls into lava multiple times. He gets stabbed and trips more times than he can count. But he actually manages to make acquaintance with the Piglins he meets due to him being polite to them and giving them gold for nothing in return. He actually is close enough to them to get directions for free and is even given resistance potions when Ran states he is leaving and not coming back as a farewell and stay safe gift. He ends up staying in the Nether for much longer than a normal person would and becomes adapt at traversing and surviving in it. It almost becomes his safe spot because the hunters have never followed him into the Nether. He would've lived there if he could, but due to the heat he isn't used too and the fact he just despised Ghasts more than the hunters, and they were everywhere in there, he didn't stay. But would often vist. Eventually he found netherite which he quickly covered his first and only diamond sword with. His sword also had the enchantments, sharpness 2, unbreaking 3, and sweaping edge. Over time and use the enchantments dimmed, only faintly remaining. At this point Ran had to flee his snow biome house due to a sudden attack, leaving behind the materials he needed to fix the enchantments and his sword. So he abandoned using it, but kept it cause it helped him through years of fighting, he can't exactly drop and leave it.
Extra stuff I couldn't find a way to fit in:
-Ran manages to find a village but actually gets kicked out cause he punches the blacksmith for upping the price of an iron sword.
-Ran slowly grows more cold, uncaring, rude, and harsh over time due to trauma. He doesn't realize he became this way due to untreated trauma until he arrives to The Pit where Watson is able to help him start to slowly heal. Which is why he becomes more open and joking in The Pit because he feels safe and loved.Â
-When the group leaves The Pit he becomes cold and hard again due to habit. Its his way of subconsciously defending himself.
-His body is covered in scars due to the hunters and his brushes with mobs.Â
-Ran knows how to tailor his own clothes and has made many different kinds of clothes, all designed for certain biomes.Â
-Ran never farmed, he always hunted.
-Ran never really built anything, instead he preferred to dig into the side of a mountain or make shelter in a cave. Its only in the snow biome did he actually build a house. And even then it was very clearly meant to be a temporary house. Though he did end up living there longer than he intended.Â
-He was at first extremely reluctant to kill, but was forced to kill hunters and animals multiple times. To the point he became almost numb to it and wouldn't hesitate to kill if he was threatened.Â
-He would sometimes dream about his family only for it to end with them being slaughtered, which really messed him up and he would just lay in bed mindlessly every time it happened. These dreams still happen.Â
Also a edit to when the brothers met in the Pit, Ran actually gets his hands on a broken trident accidentally left in the arena (its the front end only, and the middle spike is shorter than the rest due to a error when being made) and ends up tripping Ranbob then stabbing the trident into the ground over him (if that makes sense?), actually trapping Ranbob, with the middle spike just above his throat, leaving him unable to move unless he wants to cut his neck and trapped on the ground.Â
Tip of The Iceburg:
So Karl's watch is still damaged. And Isaac is still the one to convince him to seek help from the others. But midway through the meeting Phil speaks up, mentioning how he found a book in a ruined village that had a replica of Karl's Watch etched into the cover, but is in a language he's never seen. After passing it around the table no one recognizes it. Everyone's discouraged until Foolish suggests they look for the other Travelers (what ima call the Tales people) and maybe one of them will know. Eventually, with picture pinning of supposedly who could be in their world, they all split off into groups to look. Ran is still the first found, but when he's shown the book he actually confirms a part of it is in a old enderman language that fell off long ago, he's able to translate half of that section but says that Ranbob, who studied old languages much more thoroughly than Ran can do the rest (cause here their still brothers but nothing in Brothers AU happened). Giving everyone hope. Eventually Ranbob gets found and translates the rest, but a great amount is still untranslated, which is a problem. So now its a journey of finding more people and mixing languages to find out the rest.Â
A sudden twist to the story happens when Billiam joins, and due to his experience with the egg is actually able to translate a random page in the back of the book (the egg made its own language to prevent its plans being discovered). Where they find out the egg is what broke Karls watch, because to it humans are nothing but entertainment, and it gets joy seeing them suffer and wants to mess with their lives. When it gets revealed to the rest of the SMP what the page says, everyone gets pissed. And even when its found how to get the Travelers home they refuse to leave until the egg is destroyed, a few are mad at it and want revenge, others are scared and want to try to prevent it from coming into their time. Karl eventually relents and lets them join in making a plan to take down the egg. Â
Also have some fluff scenarios with the brothers since its been a while:
-There's two types of resistance potions in their world, fire resistance and water resistance. The latter of which the brothers have memorized how to make. Their friends do not know water resistance exists. Which leads to the brothers pranking their friends by drinking some then jumping into a lake. Giving Watson a heartattack and making Isaac sob. The two quickly reemerge seeing their reactions and calm them and reassure them. After the explanation you can bet they got a talking too and where grounded.Â
-Ran teaches Ranbob to fight!
-Ranbob teaches Ran to fish, Ran complains the entire time.Â
-Ranbob responds by threatening to teach Ran how to farm. Ran stops complaining after thatâŚ.mostly
-Everyone has found the brothers either asleep against each other or one asleep on the other at least twice.Â
-*insert Arthur get out of the tank meme but instead it's Ranbob trying to get Ran out of a tree so he can greet people.*
-Ran has his first night in years without a nightmare!Â
Now something else I'm planning to work on soon: What happened to Ranbob after Ran left Mizu?
I hope me sending stuff is still ok after so long of sending nothing.Â
Good to have you back, Brothers Anon! And sorry to hear about your phone, that sounds like it must've a day.
--------
Brothers AU:
I see we're back to Traumatize The Brothers Time, fantastic.
The fact that Ran has these items on him is interesting. Did he just have them with him when he was fleeing? Did he have the time to grab them? Was he preparing ahead? What led to him having these useful tools on hand when he was forced to flee?
How does he fare with mobs, being a mob hybrid himself? I think it's somewhat been implied that he's good with Endermen, but what about others?
How do the gladiator gang go about helping with his insomnia and paranoia, if they are aware of it?
What's it like for him during his time in the snow-biome, since he's there for awhile? Does he make a more-permanent camp/shelter? Do anything particularly interesting?
Poor Ran! That must've been quite the shock for him, and I imagine it didn't help his trust issues.
How does he get to the Nether? Does he have a base there? What do the piglins think of him, and vice versa? How does the Nether life effect him overall?
What happened to those materials left behind? Where they discovered? Does he manage to go back and get them on the roadtrip? Do they visit his homes on the trip?
How does the group react to his sudden change when they're leaving? What kind of clothes does he make? Does he ever make some for the others? Does he enjoy it, or is it just because it's necessary?
How do the fishermen feel about the close call with the trident, and what happens to the weapon?
------------
Tip Of the Iceberg:
I don't remember if this was mentioned before, but was it Karl's watch that caused the issue then? Who wrote the book? Does the egg have a connection with them?
How do they fare with their plans to take down the Egg(and potentially the Eggpire, if that's a thing here)? How do those with previous experience with Egg feel about this, and what part do they play?
--------
Fluff! At long last!
I love how their thought process went to that. 'We can make water resistance potions, lets jump in a lake in front of our friends'.
That sounds like it should be entertaining.
Ranbob knows how to farm?
That's such a funny mental image. 'Ran, get out of the tree, you have to socialize'. 'Hissing'.
Yay, good for him!
Ooo, what?
Always.
You know this has been bothering me for a while now... How do you feel about people dropping the show? I mean, I'm currently not that close anymore and I am willing to give Volume 7 another chance (but I keep my expectations veeeery low since I am so tired of being disappointed like I was with Volume 6 - it started out good and I really much liked the two Apathy episodes, even though they had narrative weaknesses in my opinion), also thanks to you. I just want to know what you think about it.
Hello again Mizu! Firstly, let me apologize for taking so long to respond. Iâmbacklogged on questions to answer in my inbox so Iâm slowly working my waythrough them. Secondly pleased to hear youâve decided to give the new season achance.Â
To be honest with you fam, I honestly have nothing against folks who wish to drop RWBY. As Iâvebeen telling you before, folks are entitled to feel the way they feel---be itgood, bad or indifferent.Â
Basically what Iâm saying is, I understand that everyoneâs viewson RWBY arenât the same and I respect that. I respect the fact that there arefolks who are genuinely loyal to the series and will continue to support it tothe very end, just as much as I acknowledge and respect the views of the folkswho are genuinely disappointed with the series or rather, theyâre disappointedwith the direction in which the series has changed since V3---the last seasonits original creator---Monty worked on, I believe, before he sadly passed away.
When it comes to indulging in media, myideology stands as this: if youâve come to a point where youâre watching apiece of media that you used to indulge in but the overall positivefeelings--- love, joy and entertainment--- you once felt for it when you firststarted is no longer there, then youâre more than welcome to drop it if you sodesire.Â
Or you can take a break from it and come back later. Heck you can evendrop it but still remain a part of its FNDM, not necessarily following the showanymore but still enjoying other things like fanart and fanfic. No one is atfault for wishing to stop watching a series they once loved nor are they atfault for wanting to leave it/ take break from it only to come back later. Youdo you, dude.
In terms of RWBY, Iâm half and half. Iunderstand why folks would wish to continue to watch the series; but at thesame time, I understand why folks would wish to drop it. The series, whilestill entertaining and enjoyable in some parts (at least to me) has admittedly madesome rather questionable choices in regards to certain aspects of the writing within therecent last arc.Â
Questionable choices which unfortunately left a lot of fansdisappointed. As a matter of fact, I think disappointed is an understatement.But like I said before, folks are entitled to feel the way they feel andtheyâre allowed to express their feelings, thoughts and opinion if they feelthe need.
Where I may take issue with folks whodrop RWBY, however, is if they turn into one of those kindred spirits over inthe RWBY Hatedom. RWBY is the one series I know where it has a community of people who dislike the show as much as the ones who love it. And theyâve very vocal about it too.Â
Itâs perfectly cool if you feeldissatisfied with the way things are being done with RWBY but where that becomes problematic, in my opinion, is when it turns to bitterness which then leadsto you attacking people and downright disrespecting them. This is inclusive of notjust the fans who still support RWBY but also the members of theCRWBY.
I get that people didnât like the waythings were done with the show but that still doesnât give you the right todisrespect the people working on it. One habit that Iâm tired of seeing from theHatedom is their incessant use of throwing Montyâs name around as a means toridicule the current state of the show.Â
Regardless of whether or not you donâtlike the way the showrunners have written the show, you still have to show themsome level of respect. And continuing to use the name of the showâs deceasedcreator to scrutinize the efforts of the same people---some of which wereMontyâs friends and original colleagues---is just beyond disrespectful.
If I may talk about Monty here for abit, it honestly disgusts me whenever I go into forums discussing fan reviewsof RWBY and still see people leaving comments such as âMonty wouldnât have liked thisâ or âYouâveruined Montyâs visionâ Â and all that jazz.
Seriously, how entitled of a fan must you be to act as if you knew Monty personally enough toimply that he wouldnât have liked the way RWBY is now?
Who do you think will have the moral high ground in this predicament of deciding how RWBY should continue? The people whopersonally knew and worked with Monty when RWBY first started and are doing thebest they can to keep the show running? Or the so-called fans who continue towatch the series just to mock the efforts of Montyâs former friends and colleagueswhile constantly throwing his name in their faces as an insult.
You tell me.
What happened to Monty was sad and Iâmmostly saying that as a longstanding fan of his. Like many RWBY fans, I didnâtknow Monty personally. I knew him mostly through his work. Monty was a creatorwho got an opportunity that most of us creatives with our our stories to tell couldonly dream of. He got a chance to bring his story to life only to unfortunatelypassed away while working on it.
Itâs one thing to be disappointed withsomething you used to love but itâs another thing when your anger andresentment makes you disrespectful. Itâs not cool when former fans of RWBY become people whoconstantly look for ways to talk down the show. I can sympathize with the FNDMfam members who were upset with the development of the show but where Icanât take your side is if that dissatification leads to contempt.
Iâve said this before and Iâm going torepeat it again. RWBY isNOT a flawless show. It never has been and quite frankly,itâll probably never be as perfect as fans want it to be. But what I havelearnt is that RWBY is a show thatâs much like the man who created it. It keepsmoving forward. Each season it tries to do better than the last and it shows.
I know certain parts have not been sogreat but I have to acknowledge the ones that were. I know some of uswerenât 100% pleased with how V6 turned. However, I will say this. Prior tothat season, the Writers promised that they were looking into some of the criticismsleft behind from past seasons and were working to fix him. Did they live up tothat? To quote Ozpin, in some ways yes and in other ways, no.
V6 still unfortunately suffered fromthe same issues with the writing that fans disliked back in V5. But what I willpoint out that it didnât start off that way. I think we can all admit that thefirst half of V6 (C1 to C7) was done well. The other halfâŚ.....er....not so much. Butitâs still worth noting that there is good within the bad.
This is why I personally will keepgiving the series a chance. Speaking for myself here, Iâve been on the RWBY train since thevery beginning and sink or swim, soar or crash, Iâm staying on-board till thisseries reaches its final destination. Because outside of that fact that thereare still things about the show that I enjoy and love, Iâm also very, verycurious to see where exactly the CRWBY Writers are taking this story of theirs.
Monty may not have been able to joinMiles and Kerry in progressing the show he made; however Miles and Kerry arecontinuing it. They are telling theirstory now in direct correlation to the onethey kicked off with Monty.Â
What that story is overall? How is it gonna go for future seasons and arcs andmore importantly, how is it all gonna end? Those are questions with answers Iâmstill interested to know. And until the day comes when I no longer care aboutthese things with RWBY, Iâm gonna stick around and try my best to enjoy the ride alongthe way---whether it cruises calmly or runs over a couple of rough patches andbumps. Itâs fine. Iâve got plenty of tolerance.Â
I see a lot of potential for betterwriting in RWBY. Iâm just patiently waiting for the season where the Writersfinally find their groove since I think they were struggling during the MistralTrilogy. RWBY isnât perfect but itâs a show with folks who admittedly do theirbest to improve on it as the seasons go.Â
They may not land every time but theeffort is still worth appreciating in some sense-- well at least I know appreciate it especially when they get things right cause, contrary to what othersmight believe, not everything about RWBY is completely bad. As a matter offact, some of it is arguably not as bad as folks let it out to be. But I understand thatâs amatter of opinion. Canât honestly speak for other FNDM members. Only my squiggly self here.
Now mind you, none of the stuff Iâvementioned about the RWBY Hatedom applies to you Mizu. I know weâve only chatted once or twice between Q&A but forthe most part, youâve been quite humble and a pleasant person to talk to.Â
Despite your voiced issues with the current run of RWBY, youâvemaintained a cool, respectable air about yourself and thatâs great. Please keep that up. Regardless of what happens during V7. Regardless of whether youchoose to stay or go with RWBY during or after V7, do your best to remain as humble as you as much as possible. Thatâs basically the bottom line point Iâm trying to say here.That goes for you and anyone else whoâve been feeling the same way you haveabout the show.
Just stay humble guys. Opinions can be different but still maintain that R-E-S-P-E-C-T and that goes for both sides.
And, yeah, thatâs pretty all I gottasay. I hope I actually answered your question. I feel like I did. As always,feel free to let me know. In the meantime, take care.
2: Upon first glance, no. Though they do tend to avoid the subjects of parents or siblings, and also try their best to avoid conversations that lead into sharing their past. Their also not so pushing about knowing the brothers past relationships and their childhood. Ranya and Seth are the brothers parents! Ranya is their mom who is 20% enderman, and Seth is their dad who's fully human.
3: But is there any proof of it being bad for you? That's exactly what it is, its just Team Rocket but switched if that makes sense. Raq's trying so hard to capture Ran and now Ranbob, he's planning so many plans and coming up with so many unique ways to capture them. But the groups dumb shenanigans and the fact most of them just kinda flop around half the time SOMEHOW manage to foil every plan he has and its pissing him off. But now I also have a angst idea that features Raq getting his hands on a potion of blinding and using it.Â
4: He was screaming because he was trying to escape the others and resorted to trying to make himself seem big and stronger than them, like a animal sometimes does to escape a predator. And also he was screaming because Cletus grabbed his arm and was trying to keep him from moving, and Ranbob's brain sadly registered the touch as painful.Â
6: Benjamin does actually just carry around blankets, mostly just in case someone gets cold or someone gets wet and need to be dried off. But he also does carry a special blanket only for Ranbob, its a very fluffy blanket, is a bit heavy (which helps ground and reassure Ranbob), and is big enough to cover the top half of his body. But they don't carry around tea or anything for Ranbob to drink when he gets sad, mostly cause the times they tried to do that either it got spilt or Isaac drank it.Â
10: I have developed the town a bit further. The town has a population of only 300 (may change though, but no matter what it's going to be a small town), and is situated in the Crater, where homes and business are built into the side of the Crater, with overlapping bridges, stairs, overhangings littering all around the Crater (if anyone is having problems imagining it tell me, I have some pictures I found that fit what I'm trying to describe pretty well). Wilburs decendent shall be called Lucia, and some residents of the town are Siren-the towns only blacksmith and armourer, also one of the most knowledgeable people in the town due to their great fascination with history, Adler-one of the only remaining Clerics that actually make all possible potions and even new ones at times, and almost freely gives them out, Atlas-the towns trouble maker, and the one who goes adventuring, but he also has a great interest in astrology, and can read the stars to figure out locations of things or upcoming events, Josh-He's just Josh, no one's quite sure what he does, Atlas suspects he has a secret mob grinder since he has so many mob parts and seems to have whatever someone needs, and Lucia insists that he's the one that does the communication and trading with big cities but no one believes him (spoiler, he's the redstone expert but since redstone isn't used a lot in the town he hasn't actually told anyone), Asidi-town guard, mostly just checks on the residents, though is also greatly defensive of his home, and Mripat-the towns mayor/leader, though she mostly lets people do what they want to do, its only when people want to build new things or have suggestions, or break a law does she actually act like a mayor/leader. The town itself doesn't have a set name yet but im thinking maybe Kelalen Kepungkur (Forgotten Past), but just Kelalen for short. And its mostly forgotten by other kingdoms and towns, because it doesn't belong to any certain kingdom, and due to them being forgotten, their incredibly nice and tight knit, but also suspicious of new comers. Infact Ran and Ranbobs groups where going to be chased out of the towns property until Lucia stepped in, saying how he recognizes the black and white skin.Â
11: It is! He figured, hey the memory book seemed to help Ranboo, who says it won't help him? Though it only slightly helped him at first. Eventually he'll get hugs without pain, I promise you.
12: IN MY DEFENSE, you never told me not too.
13: Ok so this is the additional fluff, this is not canon to the story at all, as it just simply seems to out there to actually fit in the story. But anyway, I was thinking that upon returning to Mizu, Ranbob finds a hidden room. And in one of the rooms there's a sort of ghost box type thing, where people can hear and even see nearby ghosts (that is what immediately got it out of the story). So Ranbob manages to get the box to work, and when it finally starts up, the ghosts of his family is actually behind him cause they've been following him the whole time. At first Ranbob is horrified and quickly backs away from them, borderline breaking down crying at seeing them again, cause he's gotten overwhelmed with grief. At first the ghosts don't follow him, but suddenly Memi runs out after him, and Ranbob has to fight the instinct to protect himself, and instead leaves himself vulnerable to whatever they want to do to him (which he imagines is degradation and even hitting). But instead Memi just hugs him tightly and cries into him, saying how she missed Big Brother so much. And Ranbob can feel this, and this wasn't what he was expecting, so he's left shocked and frozen. Until Lias also approaches and hugs him too, saying how he's so sorry and how he missed him too. Then Seth and Ranya both join in on the hug, saying how their so sorry Ranbob had to suffer alone and how they failed him because they didn't protect them. Meanwhile Ranbob is shocked, but he soon gets over it and hugs them back just as tightly. Repeatedly saying how he's sorry and he didn't mean too, all while his family comforts him. In the end, they manage to convince Ranbob they have no harsh feelings towards him, comfort him, talk to him about what to do with Ran not trusting him, say how their so proud of Ranbob for growing so strong and breaking Dreams hold on him, and listen to Ranbob share stories of his haunting.Â
2: First glance, huh? How about further glances? Also, how did Ran get so much Enderman blood in him if he had a human father and a mother with only 20% in her?
3: Yeah, actually, I think they have medical studies on it? Something about blood loss, or infection, maybe? Idk the specifics, anon.
Okay, so Iâm not sure I read this right. The groupâs shenanigans accidentally defeat his plans? Is that right? Or do his plans just flop on their own? Also, oof. Canât wait to see how bad that goes. Which poor Ender boy is subjected to blindness?
4: Hahaha, ouch, ouch, ouch. So, like Endermen screaming? Also, he registers touch as painful? Thatâs...not good. Is that something that happens often, or just during his relapses?
6: Benjamin just carries around blankets. Heâs a fluffy blanket dealer. You come to him looking even slightly in need of a hug, and he burritos you in blankets. Payment is self-care.Â
Also, Isaac drinks it? Is he like a tea gremlin? Locates tea and drinks it no matter what?
10: Sounds like a lively little place! And quite frankly, I already love Lucia. For what reason do the townsfolk have towards being suspicious and chasing people off though? Have they had trouble before? Also, Lucia recognizes Ranbob as Ranbooâs descendant? Or just that he looks similar? How does everyone react to the sudden hostility, and then being allowed in?
12: EVERYONE KNOWS YOU DONâT ADMIT TO A CRIME, ANON, GOODNESS! Also, fair. Mean, cruel, and sadistic, but ultimately fair. I did not say not to. That is true.
(Still mean, how dare-)
13: Anon, how dare you call this fluff, just. This is so bittersweet, Iâm literally crying. I canât believe youâve done this.Â
CURRENT TIME LINE! (THIS IS NOT INDEPTH AND IS INSTEAD INTENDED TO GIVE A BRIEF SUMMARY OF EVERYTHING, DETAILS MAY BE CHANGED DEPENDING ON WHATS ADDED)
-Dream gets control of Ranbob and uses him to basically commit genocide in Mizu, Ran barely escapes.Â
-After living alone for 6 years Ran arrives in Subbin, takes part in the Pit tournament, and gains a family. At the same time the fishermen find and rescue Ranbob, bringing him to their home.
-2 years past with Ranbob recovering and having a haunting, and Ran fighting while spending time with his own haunting.Â
-Isaac manages to convince his group to go to Subbin even though Ranbob is a bit nervous, the fishermen join The Pit for the promise of money and fun. Ranbob gets pinned against Ran (doesnt know its Ran) and sees the King of The Hill is on with Ran at the top. Ranbob climbs up to see Ran there, he is shocked and approaches him with weapon dropped and shaking, Ran kicks him off the edge. Ranbob slams his head into the ground and dislocates his shoulder, rises up to see the King of The Hill dropping. Ranbob tries to talk to Ran only for Ran to run to him and slam him into the ground, yelling at and threatening him. He carries him over to the edge of the arena and at this point Porkius calls off the fight and the fishermen and Gladiators enter the arena to seperate them. Ran cursing out Ranbob as he gets dragged away. Ranbob gets treated in the medical wing as Ran storms about and the two groups talk and match everything up.
-Weeks past with incredible tension in the air. They decide that taking a trip may help and after getting approval from Porkius, manage to convince Ranbob and trick Ran to come along.
-After agurements and tense moments while in a carriage, they get out and walk to their next destination. A flower biome. Where they manage to relax and have fun for a few days before moving on.
-Next Watson leads them to a nearby waterfall he found with a tunnel behind it, the brothers get water splashed on them by Isaac and Jackie being idiots, and from dripping water in the cave, leaving Ran with burns to his neck and hands, while Ranbob has burns to his cheeks and also to his neck. The burns fade quickly with help of burn cream Watson brought with.Â
-After they pass the tunnel they see a shattered Savanna, and decide to travel through it. Tension ramps up when both Grievous and Cletus almost fall off halfway up a mountain, and when Rans scowling and growling end up sending Ranbob so far away from him he almost walks off the edge.Â
-Watson says the Savanna is to dangerous and leads them to a nearby roofed forest, where they have their first run in with Raq and learn that Ran is still being hunted.Â
-After 3 morw run-ins with Raq they move to another forest, this time Oak, and stumble upon a village, where they stop for supplies. This is also where they learn of Kelalen, but the librarian they learned it from dismisses them as lunatics and to avoid them. Upon pressing for more info they find out it was like Mizu, to which Ranbob shows interest and excitement.
-They move on to a Tagia biome where everyone attempts to tame a wolf and fails, expect Charles, Watson, and Ran. Charles gets 4 dogs from this and is very happy.
-While running to shelter in a cave from a thunderstorm, the brothers lag behind the rest, and start to badly agure. At the end Ran shouts something that makes Ranbob stop, stare at him with teary eyes, and run away. Ran almost goes after him but doesnt and instead goes to tell the others. While Ranbob finds another smaller cave to hide it, and after some harsh words, everyone goes searching for him. Leaving Ran alone and leaving him with his guilt ridden, horrible feeling, and merciless mind
-They get Ranbob to come back to find Ran gone, at first almost no one wants to go after him. Saying how it's all his fault. But eventually they agree to look for him after the storm has passed. Its a full day until the storm passes and the gladiators have become very worried for Ran.Â
-When they finally look for him, it takes them hours to find him. And they only find him when there's a sudden shout through the woods, leading them to Raq mid-attack on Ran, taking advantage of his distraction of being lost in his own mind. Sadly their a bit late and aren't able to save Ran from a blindness potion. But are able to chase Raq away. Ran suffers due to the potion, and everyone is distressed.
-3 days pass until they manage to collect themselves up enough to move, after Ranbob said that he believes the town of Kelalen is nearby, he believes traveling there is worth the risk.
-It takes a week to travel to Kelalen and at first they get turned away, before Lucia recognizes some features of Ranbob and feels bad turning them away when Ran is blind. So they get brought in and Ran gets cured.Â
-They stay in Kelalen for 4 weeks (minimum, may be more later on, im actually thinking along the lines of months) where they learn more about everything and Foolish who is particularly interesting. And after a while and long conversations they say goodbye and continue on to their next biome, a snow biome.
-While in the snow biome they meet a particular old enderman who used to live with members of the SMP. He reveals his name as Edward and upon meeting Ran and Ranbob he makes the connection with them to Ranboo. And starts to happily tell stories and teach lessons. But when Ran leaves to go to bed, Edward reveals that Ran does love Ranbob, but is struggling with his own nightmares that make it hard for him to show it to Ranbob. Who hesitates believing him, but eventually does. From here on Ranbob looks at and thinks of Ran in a different view.Â
-After the snow biome theres no real destination next on their list, so they decide to just explore.Â
-3 months past before something interesting happens. Whenever they come across a village Jackie has formed a habit of asking them about Foolish, as he took a interest in him. And he eventually gets a village that goes "Yes Foolish is that way." And he excitedly drags everyone else with him to meet Foolish.Â
-They get to Foolish's home and start exploring. Jackie is alone when Foolish confronts him and Jackie brings him to the others. Foolish isn't exactly nice at first but warms up upon seeing the brothers again, as he's reminded of Ranboo. Hes informed about Dream and he is horrified to learn that and offers his help, they decline beliving themselves already free of Dream. Just before the group leaves Foolish gives them access to his armoury, saying how he feels like they'll need it. Before Ran can leave Foolish gives him a special totem of undying, saying he truly means he'll help, and that he feels they may face Dream again. Foolish tells Ran to break it when they need help and he'll be summoned to them. Ran leaves disturbed.
-2 years have passed with the group and brothers getting closer, along with occasional attacks from Raq and other hunters. They head back to Subbin. Their goal of getting the brothers closer achieved. Their still not as close as they used to be, but their close enough they can joke around, be left in the same room together alone without someone being stabbed, and even hug. Though Ran still hasnt fully forgiven Ranbob yet, but he's trying his best. Their on their way back to Subbin when nightmares between the two start ramping up, and Ranbobs episodes where he tries to run back to Dream are also on the rise. Everyone is starting to suspect something is happening but isn't sure what and so try to move on. When next Raq attack he brings back up again, this time instead of focusing on Ran, they focus on Ranbob. When Raq is defeated and finally caught, they ask why, and Raq reveals that theres a person who put a high bounty on Ranbob. Raq dies from Ran and Cletus.
-Ranbob fears its Dream, the others comfort him saying Dream can't escape Mizu. Their wrong.
-They finally get to Subbin and things are normal for a while, until Porkius reveals that Ranbob probably shouldn't be alone for a while. When asked why he reveals that the bounty on Ranbob has been put back up in Subbin, although he's going as fast as he can to nullify it. Benjamin, Charles, and Watson go to the local bar where bounties are put. And sure enough there's one for Ranbob there.
-When they get back Ran reveals what Foolish told him about facing Dream. They realizie Dream somehow got out and is hunting Ranbob down. Ranbob is terrified but they manage to comfort him. And they come to the conclusion they need to fight Dream. They spend months preparing and training for it.Â
-(This is the end bit and has yet to be fully figured out. So it'll be added in at a later time.)
Notes: During the whole time traveling, unless specified, Ran and Ranbob are far away from each other. Ran tending to be in the very front of the group with Ranbob in the very back. And whenever Ranbob got close to a gladiator Ran would growl at him to back off.Â
If you have any questions feel free to ask! (And if I missed anything please tell me so I can add it)
And I wanna check, am I still ok to send these?- to like talk about my au or no?- I'm afraid I've overstayed my welcome honestly and if I did I dont want to annoy you and will stop! And if you still don't mind, is there anything you want me to change? In general?
Thisâll be helpful for the future! Also, Charles has four dogs, thatâs adorable.Â
Of course youâre okay to send âem, I love reading these things!Â
I will never be annoyed about getting to see someoneâs cool ideas and see how they choose to build on them. That sort of thing is awesome, and I love seeing it, your AU most certainly a favorite in that like. Send as many as youâd like, and Iâll be all the happier for it.
