I wonder if, after Dalen's Closet when Vox Machina found out that Vax still exists out there, after a fashion, Pike ever Sent him any messages.

The spell crosses Planes, so I like to think that, maybe not often, but once in a while, Pike and Vax still talk. It doesn't always work (that 4% chance, and all) and sometimes he doesn't respond, but sometimes they'll have a little chat. Sometimes just the one Sending, sometimes more.

Sometimes Pike gives him updates on their friends and family, sometimes it's just to say hi, sometimes it's to make sure that the Raven Queen's still treating him right and she doesn't need to come kick a god's ass. Sometimes it's to make sure that someone crossed over ok.

I don't think she ever tells the others, even Scanlan, maybe especially not Vex or Keyleth. and I don't think it ever comes up between them that she might.

And he's dead, and mostly gone, they both know that.

But sometimes, it's good to be Pickle and Stringbean again. Just for a bit.
