When you came up with these mikus did you have a particular song/irl producer in mind for each/any? (If not, is it ok to share headcanons..?)

kind of, yeah! i didn’t want to do any 1-to-1s, but ill share my inspirations. i’d love to hear your headcanons, though!! i aimed to make designs that could have a wide range of interpretations so it’d make me happy to share what kinds of songs you think each miku would sing :)

for the most part though, i tried to make mikus that reflected the popular miku songs in 2017-2018! some of them (esp starting out) ended up being based more on idol-anime-character-tropes or aesthetics though lol... details under the cut

ngl she was the first one i designed before i had the thought of “oh i should be aiming these towards like specific producers or song or genres” and i just really wanted to make a catgirl

that said, i think she’d sing fun and high-energy songs, or songs with a mischievous energy. catwalk envy-type, really

had other songs like deep-sea girl and tsugihagi in mind when designing her though

i had songs closer to We Are Pop Candy and shake it! in mind when designing her, though!

went for an electro/hip-hop feel, a really cool miku!

out of the 1M+ songs from 2017-2018, i could see her singing Bitter Majesty, Violence Trigger, and Break It

definitely had songs like hibikase in mind when designing her though

probably the miku i had the strongest vision for- cute, soft songs

splitting up the rock genre was kinda hard but bright is for what i call “bright rock” which is not a real term but it makes sense to me. like rock songs that sound more determined than defeated

i also ended up realizing i was basically going for leo/need miku lol.

out of the 1M+ songs from 2017-2018, she was mostly based off Hibana, Ai Kotoba and Teo, and I could also see her singing songs like BEAT SYNCER and Dither Tune

on the flipside, Null started as “dark rock” (also not a real term) but ended up veering more towards “unhinged rock”. a catch-all for all the edgy cryptic songs really

producers like kairiki bear, syudou, utsu

out of the 1M+ songs from 2017-2018, she was mostly based off songs like 404: False Image, Baka,  Teresuto Teresu,  Sekai Saishinkou Tokku

sunshine was split off of Null’s initial concept of “dark rock”, this time veering on the sad side- rock/light rock songs that sound more defeated than determined.

out of the 1M+ songs from 2017-2018, she was mostly based off songs like Hated By Life Itself, Airhead, Tokyo Ghetto, Deathly Loneliness Attacks  though i could also see songs like Flos and Quiet Room

A belated happy birthday to one of my favorite seiyuus, Nobuhiko Okamoto. Here it is, my Top 5 Nobuhiko Okamoto Roles that I can think of right now :)

#1: Karma Akabane - Ansatsu Kyoushitsu

Come on, Nobu as Karma was awesome! I still consider him one of Nobu’s best work. Karma as a character is so cool and I love him and he’s my favorite among the Assassination Classroom cast, but Nobu really brought him to life. His deep voice really makes you go kyaaaa >///<

#2: Mikoto Mikoshiba - Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun

The dorkiest of the dorks. Seriously. Nozaki was a hilarious! And Mikorin was AWESOME! lololol First fell in love with Nobu’s voice through Mikorin. I mean, seriously, the guy’s a wreck XD Acting cool one moment and then blushing deep red the next. A secret otaku at heart with all those bishoujo figurines and visual novels he keeps. His friendship with Sakura and Nozaki is so precious. This boy is precious! I just love him so much! (why aren’t they making more anime??? ><)

#3: Yuu Nishinoya - Haikyuu!!

I’m not actually a fan of Haikyuu. Have only seen the first season and liking what I saw. I remember liking the friendship and bonds between the characters. The story was, well, your typical story centered around high school sports club, but the characters were quite refreshing. I’m currently rewatching it as I suddenly have the urge to see the second season, and I once again like how Nobu voices Noya :D 

#4: Katsuki Bakugou - Boku no Hero Academia

OK, I am not a fan of Bakugou, and I didn’t plan on putting him on the list, but I feel like I have to commend Nobu for voicing this hot-headed teen. The amount of screams he had to do! Not to mention how Nobu sounds like he still needs to strain his vocal cords even with Bakugou’s “normal” voice. It’s great and all, and he’s awesome but I just can’t help but wince every time Bakugou ends all of his sentences with a scream. Like, chill, kid xD Anyway, I liked his arc in the first season where he finally learned a bit of modesty and got off his high horse. 

#5: Harunobu Nikaido - Sangatsu no Lion

Putting him on the list for the sake of the anime. Seriously, I feel like I watched a lot of his shows back then and I liked him a lot but I really can’t think of any other of his roles that had quite an impression on me right now. I did like Nikaido, though. Sangatsu was an awesome drama and I miss it and I really wish they’d make a season 3 because it’s worth it.
