Sweet Child Oâ Mine - Eddie Munson
A/N: aaahhh it looks like Iâm on a roll for some reason xD I just wanna say that I loved this request however... I really tried to understand D&D but I honestly couldnât, I did my mest and I just grabbed a few info from the internet insead so please donât hate me :)Â
Request - lunamadhatter99 asked: Oohhhh you're the sweetest of them all, I swear!â¤ď¸â¤ď¸Â My request is basically Eddie x shy!Reader (yeah.. I love the thropeđ
), the reader is friends with the gang (is the same age as Nancy, so is still in school and all that you know) and it's all set when they're looking for Eddie and when they finds him the reader is sorted to "guard him" You know, make sure he's not wandering around. And like Eddie tries to tease her to ease the tension and at some point he finds out she'd  like to play DnD but too scared to even approach the group and... yeah.. too specific? Thank you for letting me send a request hunâ¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸Â
Warnings: spoilers for S4E2&3; also my very bad attempt at writing for a reader that plays D&D once again, I apologize; reader wears glasses (mentioned a couple of times) and she had a stuttered when a kid and still does when nervous; I think thatâs it :)
Disclaimer: I donât own Stranger Things :D gif isnât mine :)Â
Your name: submit What is this?

Sweet Child Oâ Mine
She's got a smile that it seems to me Reminds me of childhood memories Where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky
âOkay. Well, that's settled. I guess he's not here-â Steve started but got interrupted.
âEddie!â Dustin yelled, banging on the door. âIt's Dustin!â
âDustin, weâre kind of try to keep a low profile hereâ you reminded him.
Once again, you were tangled up in this mess. The things from the Upside Down were back. You were still unsure how you got tangled up in all this, really. It was just the wrong place at the wrong time. When you found your neighbor, Dustin Henderson, and his friend, Steve Harrington, haunting demo-dogs. Whatever the hell they were. You were still unsure. But ever since then you became part of the group. Want it or not. You knew some of them, like Jonathan. And you knew Dustin and his friends since you sometimes used to babysit for Mrs. Henderson. Although you had to admit, it gave you a really cool friend, like Steve Harrington, which is something you couldnât think possible in a million years since he was a jerk in high school. And with Steve came Robin, who was even cooler so⌠things were pretty good. But this was way out of your league.
Now, here you were once again, looking for Eddie Munson, the lead of Hellfire Club because he was being accused of killing Chrissy Cunningham. You knew Chrissy, she was one of the kindest people in the school. And as horrible as what happened to her was, you knew for a fact that Eddie had nothing to do with it. Not only because you all knew this whole Upside Down thing a little too well. But because you knew Eddie. Kind of. He was one of the only people at school to be nice to you. He may have a very outspoken personality, but deep down, you were sure he was just a big teddy bear. Or you would like to believe that due to the very few interactions you had with him. And the fact that you might have a crush on him had nothing to do with it. Or so you told yourself.
âLook, we just wanna talk, okay? No cops, I swear. We just wanna helpâ Dustin tried.
âYeah, that sounds convincingâ Steve rolled his eyes.
âFine, why donât we split and look for him?â Robin asked. âWe can go this way, and you can go that wayâ she suggested.
Max, Robin, and Dustin went the other way as you and Steve decided to go over to what looked like an abandoned boathouse.
âJesus, what a dumpâ Steve complained as we looked around.
âYeah, I really doubt that a drug dealerâs priority right now is to keep his boathouse cleanâ you said as he started poking the boat in the middle with an oar. âWhat are you doing?â
âHe might be in hereâ he explained as if it was obvious.
âSo take the tarp offâ you suggested.
âIf you're so brave, you take the tarp off!â
âWell, what are you going to do? Get him with your oar?â
âYou know, I know you think you're being funny, but considering everyone in this room has nearly died a hundred times, personally, I don't find it funny in the slight-â
Steve was suddenly cut off by a loud scream and Eddie jumping from underneath the tarp, pushing him against the wall, with a broken bottle on his neck.
âWait! Wait! Wait! Wait! Wait!â
âHoly shit!â you muttered, walking slowly closer to them. âWhoa, whoa, Eddie!â you tried to get his attention. âEddie, stopâ you said, getting him to look at you, but he still had the broken glass against Steveâs throat. You felt your heart beating faster than you ever had before. He looked terrified. âEddie, please, just listen to meâ you tried. âIâm (Y/N). You know me from schoolâ you continued. âWe have some classes together. Y-you have helped me in Math sometimes a-and you borrowed my pencil in English, and one time you said that my notebook was cool because it had doodles of characters of The Lord Of The Rings, do you remember that?â you started thinking of anything that might get him to trust you and not hurt Steve. But at the same time, you felt a little embarrassed that these were very big moments in your life and he might not even remember them. âW-we just want to help youâ you said, nervously. âThis is S-Steve you said, with your hands still up in surrender to let him know you had no intention of hurting him. âHeâs not going to hurt you and neither am Iâ you stuttered.
âRight. Yeahâ Steve managed to say.
âSteve, why don't you drop the oar?â you said, and Steve widened his eyes at you.
âI donât think-â
âSTEVE!â you snapped and he quickly dropped it.
âWhat are you doing here?â he asked, still not letting go of Steve.
âWe're looking for youâ you told him. âWe're here to helpâ you told him. âWeâre here with Dustin, you know him. Heâs in your Hellfire Clubâ you suggested and he started lowering the bottle just a little.
âHendersonâs here?â
âYesâ you and Steve said at the same time. Eddie was about to let his guard down but pointed the broken glass at Steveâs neck again when he heard a noise coming from outside.
âEddie!â you heard Dustinâs voice coming in. âHoly shit! Eddie, Iâm so glad youâre fine! Eddie, weâre here to help you!â he said, getting closer to you. âThese are my friends. You know Robin, from band. This is my friend Max. The one who never wants to play D&D. And you know (Y/N)! I know you do because you always know where she seats at lunchâ he said, making you feel your cheeks burning a little. âEddie. We're on your side. I swear on my mother. Right, guys?â
âYes. Yes. We swearâ Max and Steve said at the same time.
âOn Dustin's motherâ Robin added.
âYeah, Dustin's⌠Dustin's motherâ Max mumbled.
Everyone was too afraid to move at this point, not knowing if Eddie would believe you. But he locked eyes with you for barely a minute before he started lowering the bottle and let Steve go. Eddie sat down on the edge of the boat and looked down. He seemed terrified and⌠defeated. Dustin started to walk closer to him and you followed his lead.
âEddieâ you said softly and he turned to look at you. He had tears in his eyes and you felt your heart breaking. âWe just want to talk. Okay?â
âWe want to know what happenedâ Dustin said.
âA-and we want to help youâ you added.
âYou won't believe meâ Eddie said in a low tone.
âTry usâ Max tells him.
You noticed Eddieâs hand shaking and you remembered how scared the first time you saw the demo-dogs you were. Whatever Eddie had seen must have been horrible. You had seen the horrible things that these creatures did. You had seen Billy Hargrove die last summer. He wasnât someone that you were fond of but still, seeing him die the way he did, changed you forever. So you gained all the courage you had in you and you held Eddieâs hand. He looked at you with his deep brown eyes and a few tears escaped his eyes. He then started telling us his whole story. Starting when Chrissy came over to him to buy drugs. How he brought her back to his trailer because she wanted something stronger. And how she died right in front of him. The way he described it made your skin crawled. It sounded even worse than any of you had seen before.
âHer body just, like⌠lifted up into the air, and uh-â he said, with his voice breaking a little. âAnd she just, like⌠hung thereâ he continued. âIn the air. AndâŚâ he stopped, taking a deep breath. âAnd her bones⌠Uh, she⌠Her bones started to snapâ he said, crying. âAnd her eyes, man. It⌠It was like there was something, like, inside her head, pullingâ he said, closing his eyes. âI⌠I didn't know what to do, so I⌠I ran awayâ he finished. He then turned to look at all of us with silent tears running down his cheeks. âYou all think I'm crazy, right?
âNoâ Dustin assured him. âWe don't think you're crazyâ he said.
âDon't bullshit me, man! I know how this soundsâ Eddie said, getting up and letting go of you.
âEddie, we're not bullshitting youâ Max tried to convince him.
âWe believe youâ you said, getting up and looking between everyone in the room. Steve and Dustin nodding at you. âLook, what weâre about to tell you might be a little⌠difficult to takeâ you said and he turned to look at you.
âOkayâ he said, confused.
âYou know how people say Hawkins is⌠cursed?â Dustin started and Eddie nodded hesitantly. âThey're not⌠way offâ he continued. âThere's another world⌠A world hidden beneath Hawkinsâ he explained, and you were actually grateful he was there because you wouldnât have any idea of how to explain any of this. âSometimes it bleeds into oursâ he said.
âLike ghosts and shit?â Eddie asked, confused.
âThere are some things worse than ghostsâ you muttered and he looked at you sadly.
âThese⌠monstersâ Dustin continued. âFrom this other world⌠we thought they were gone. But they've come back beforeâ he explained.
âThat's why we needed to find youâ Max said. âIf they're back again, we need to knowâ she told him.
âThat night, did you see anything?â Robin asked. âDark particles, maybe?â
âIt would almost look like dust, swirling dustâ Dustin described.
âNo, man, there was nothing you could see or, uh⌠or touchâ Eddie said. âYou know, I tried to wake her, manâ he said with his voice breaking a little. âShe couldn't move. It was like she⌠she was in a trance or somethingâ he explained.
âOr under a spellâ Dustin said, looking at you.
âA curseâ you suggested.
âVecna's curseâ Eddie said, nodding at Dustin.
"Wait, who's Vecna?" Steve asked, confused.
"A spell caster" you told him, but it only confused him more.
"An undead creature of great power" Dustin added.
"A dark Wizard" you finished.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
âOkay, so this seems more fucked up than usualâ Steve said as we left the boathouse to come up with a plan.
âCome on⌠is not that badâ you said, unconvincingly. âIs it?â
âDid you not just hear the same thing we did?â Robin asked.
âYeah, okay, weâre fuckedâ you sighed. âSo, what do we do?â
âWell, right now, we can go get some things for Eddie while we figure this outâ Max suggested.
âRightâ Dustin agreed. âOnly I think one of us should stay here with himâ he said, looking at you.
âI agree, and I think it should be youâ Steve smirked at you.
âSecond itâ Max smiled.
âThirdâ Robin added.
âWhat? Me? W-why me?â
âBecause you were basically the one who calmed him downâ Dustin explained.
âThatâs not true, he calmed down when you came in-â
âNot true, he calmed down when you started telling him all about how he helps you in Math and he borrowed your pencil and he likes your doodle-â Steve mocked you.
âAlright, shut upâ you rolled your eyes. âFine, Iâll stay with Eddieâ you said and Dustin handed you one of the walkie-talkies.
âThat thingâs got batteries in it, right?â Steve asked him and Dustin looked genuinely offended.
âIâm not even answering that questionâ he said. âYes, Steve! It has batteries!â he said, as he walked over to the car with Max and Dustin.
âHeyâ Steve called you. âBe safe, okay?â he said, kissing your head.
âYou too. Take care of your kids-â
âOur kids!â
âWhateverâ you laughed before walking back to the boathouse.
âArenât you going with them?â Eddie asked, confused when you walked inside.
âUm- d-do you w-want me to leave?â
âNo!â he said a little too quickly. âI just⌠well, I didnât think you would want to⌠be around meâ he said looking down.
âI d-donât mindâ you said with a shy smile, sitting next to him. âI a-actually um-â you sighed.
âWhat?â
âNothingâ
âNo. What is it?â he asked softly.
âW-well, I donât really know why I always feel a bit calmer when y-youâre aroundâ you said, looking away, feeling your cheeks burning.
Eddieâs smile was bigger than you had ever seen it when he made you look back at him. âYeah?â
âY-yeahâ you assured him.
âYou would probably be the first oneâ he said, sadly.
âThatâs not trueâ you told him. âI know Dustin and Mike look up to youâ you said with a small smile. âAnd all of your Hellfire friends-â
âWhy do you, though?â he asked, curiously. âI mean, is not like weâre exactly friendsâ he said, regretting it the moment the smile fell off your face.
âOhâ you said, feeling your cheeks burning even more.
âN-no, I didnât mean it like that- I just- shit!â he said, closing his eyes. âSorry, I meant that⌠Iâm glad that you do b-because most people donât but⌠Iâm glad you do- this doesnât make sense, does it?â
âIt kind of doesâ you nodded. âAnd well, to answer your question, you helped me one time that Andy pushed me off a swing when I was like six years old and he broke my glassesâ you said, looking away. He obviously wouldnât remember that.
âYou remember that?â he asked, nervously.
âY-yeah, of course, I doâ you said, looking back at him. âAnd that wasnât really the only time, youâve always kind of⌠made them back off whenever they⌠did something stupidâ you said, shyly. âI wouldnât really expect you to remember b-but it m-meant a lot to meâ you confessed.
âI rememberâ he said, quietly.
âY-you donâtâ you chuckled.
âYeah, of course, I do. I thought you were the prettiest girl with glasses I had ever seen... I still doâ he told you, making your cheeks burn impossibly further. âAnd then I kind of wanted to get your attention but you never really seemed to talk back to me so I thought⌠maybe you also thought I was a freak too-â
âNoâ you said, grabbing his hand. âIâve never thought thatâ you assured him. âI just⌠I donât really talk to anyoneâ you admitted. âWhen I was younger I had a really bad stutterâ you said, looking away. âIâm better now, although it still comes up when Iâm n-nervousâ you said. âKids would make fun of me a lot so I just⌠kind of stopped talking altogetherâ you explained. âS-sorry if I didnât talk back, I just⌠you were one of the few people to be nice to me and I didnât want you to s-stop because of thatâ you said.
âIâm sorryâ he said, squeezing your hand. âYou can give me the names of those jerks and Iâd gladly hunt them downâ he said, making you chuckle.
âH-how are you doing?â
âWell, all things considered⌠not that badâ he sighed.
âEddieâ you said, in a serious tone. âI donât know exactly what you saw but⌠I know how scary these things can beâ you told him.
âYou said that⌠there were some things worse than ghostsâ he said. âW-what did you mean by that?â he asked, worriedly. âWhat did you see?â You sighed, feeling your eyes water. âYou donât have to tell me if you donât-â
âNo, itâs okayâ you told him. âYou know how um⌠there was a fire in Starcourt mall last summer?â you asked and he nodded.
âThe one where Billy Hargrove died?â he asked.
âRightâ you said.
âThere was no fire, was there?â
âNot exactlyâ you explained, telling him everything that happened that night and how you had seen Billy die. âI mean⌠I know Billy wasnât exactly a nice person and⌠we werenât close or anything but⌠still⌠seeing him⌠seeing anyone⌠die like thatâ you sighed. âAnd Chrissy was nice, so I can only assume how much worse it was for you-â
âI left her thereâ he said, with a few tears escaping his eyes. âI didnât know what to do so I just⌠ran and⌠left herâ he told you.
âEddie, you did what you had to doâ you told him. âIf you would have stayed there then⌠most likely the police would have gotten there and⌠I donât think they would have believed youâ you explained. âBut we do and we are going to help you. I promiseâ you assured him. âI mean, you can think of this as the Hellfire campaign, The Cult of Vecnaâ you said. âExcept you wouldnât be the Dungeon Master in this one, youâd be out there with the rest of us and weâre just starting. So, we have to figure out our strategy but we are definitely going to stand our ground and fight with youâ you told him.
âWait, how do you know about The Cult of Vecna?â he asked, confused.
âOh, Dustin and Mike told me about it, it sounded really cool. I heard they got Erica to sub for Lucas and they had a great timeâ you smiled.
âWait, you know Dungeons and Dragons?â he asked, impressed.
âOf course, I doâ you smiled, shyly. âWho do you think taught these kids about it?â
âYouâre shitting meâ he chuckled.
âNope. Bought Dustin his first D&D board for his eighth birthdayâ you explained.
âWell, whatâs your class and level?â
âI donât wanna sayâ you said, feeling your cheeks burning.
âCome on, why not?â
âWhy not? Youâre a Dungeon Master, youâre gonna make fun of meâ you chuckled.
âI would never make fun of you. Especially for playing D&Dâ he promised. âI swear, I would not make fun of you, princessâ he said with a smile. That smile that he always gave you whenever he helped you, that always melted your heart.
âFine. My name is Athena, and I am lawful good, fighter 16 and cleric 16â you muttered.
âShit, seriously?â
âYeahâ you nodded.
âThat is so cool! Athena, like the goddess of war and wisdom?â
âYeah, I was into Greek mythology when I started playing soâŚâ you said.
âSo, how come you have never come to a Hellfire meeting? It sounds like you could beat anyoneâs assâ he laughed.
âUm, Mike and Dustin have actually asked me to join a couple of timesâ you admitted, feeling your cheeks burn.
âWhy havenât you?â
âI donât knowâ you smiled shyly.
âDo we scare you?â he mocked with a smirk.
âN-no! O-of course, notâ you assured him.
âIâm just messing with you, princessâ he smiled and you sighed relieved.
âYou all seem really nice⌠itâs just⌠like I said⌠I have trouble t-talking to people sometimesâ you explained.
âWell, if you decide to⌠and for the record, I think you shouldâ he said. âIâm sure everyone would be happy to welcome you inâ he smiled.
âR-really, y-you think I should?â you asked, happily.
âYeah, I doâ he smiled. âI meant what I said, princess. Iâve always thought you were the prettiest girl Iâd seenâ he said. âI still do, and I also really like your Lord Of the Rings doodles, I mean it makes you like one hundred times coolerâ he smiled, making you smile too. âThatâs why I kind of always tried to get your attention but⌠I didnât think youâd like a big dork like meâ he said.
âI think Iâm a bigger dorkâ you chuckled.
âWell, youâre a prettier dork, for sureâ he smiled.
You could have sworn that he was leaning in, and before you could stop yourself you were too. It was a sweet, short kiss that was interrupted when you heard something outside, making you jump apart.
âOh, shitâ you said, getting up. âTarp! Tarp!â you pointed and Eddie quickly started getting in the boat when the door opened.
âFuck!â
âJesusâ you said, placing a hand on your chest when you saw Dustin, Robin, Max, and Steve at the door with bags in their hands.
âDelivery serviceâ Dustin smiled innocently.
âYou guys couldnât think of a better way to make an entrance?â you asked as you helped Eddie out of the boat.
âSo we got, uh, some good news and some bad newsâ Dustin said, walking inside and handing him the bags. âHow do you prefer it?â
âBad news first, alwaysâ Eddie replied.
âAll right. Bad news. We tapped into the Hawkins PD dispatch with our Cerebro, and they're definitely looking for youâ he said.
âAlso, they're, uh, pretty convinced you killed Chrissyâ Steve said.
âLike, 100% kind of convincedâ Max added.
âSubtle, guysâ you said as you turned to look at Eddie. His expression was a mix of defeat, fear, and sadness altogether. âWhat about the good news?â
âYour name hasn't gone public yetâ Robin said.
âOkay, so, thatâs good. Thatâs a good thingâ you tried to cheer him a little.
âYes, but if we found out about you, it's a matter of time before others doâ Steve said.
âAnd once that gets out, everyone and their shallow-minded mother is gonna be gunning for youâ Robin added.
âHunt the freak, right?â Eddie said, sadly.
âExactlyâ Robin replied.
âRobin!â you snapped a little.
âShitâ Eddie muttered.
âYou're not a freak, Eddie. Weâre gonna fix this okay?â
âYes! We are, I mean before that happens, we find Vecna, kill him, and prove your innocenceâ Dustin suggested.
âThat's all, Dustin? That's all?â Eddie asked, sarcastically.
âYeah, no, that's pretty much itâ Dustin replied as if it was no big deal.
âListen, Eddie, I know everything Dustin is saying sounds⌠totally delusional, but we've actually been through this beforeâ you said, holding his hand. Something that didnât go unnoticed by the rest of the group.
âI mean, they have a⌠a few times, and⌠and I have once. Mine was more human-flesh-based, theirs was more smoke-related-â Robin rambled.
âBut the bottom line isâ you cut her off. âCollectively, I really feel we got thisâ you said, trying to encourage him.
âWe usually rely on this girl who has superpowers. But, uh, those went bye-bye, soâŚâ Steve said.
âSo we're technically in more of the-â Dustin continued.
âBrainstorming phaseâ Max finished for him.
âBrainstorming, yeahâ Robin added.
âRightâ you smiled wearily at Eddie. âThere⌠There's nothing to worry aboutâ you said unconvincingly until you heard police sirens outside.
âTarp!â Steve said.
âTarp. Tarp!â Dustin said as Eddie got back in the boat and everyone helped place the tarp on him. But the police cars seemed to continue down the road.
âAre they⌠headed to the trailer park?â you asked.
âLooks like itâ Steve said.
âLetâs goâ Dustin said. âWeâll come back with more news okay, just stay hiddenâ he said, but Eddie walked over to you.
âGo with themâ he said.
âWhat? N-no, I donât want to leave you here alone-â
âNo, I donât want-â he sighed, sadly. âIf they find me, I donât want anything to happen to you. Youâll be safer with them. Please go. Iâll be okay, I promise, Iâll have the walkie-talkieâ he said, grabbing it from your hand.
âAre you sure?â you asked, still not wanting to leave him alone.
âYes. Please, princessâ he said with his huge puppy eyes.
âOkayâ you caved. âJust⌠stay safe, okay? Please?â you begged.
âI promiseâ he smiled, kissing your head. âHey, uh-â he said, pulling you back for a moment and placing his hand on the back of his neck. âAfter this is um- all d-done, would you maybe like to uh- I donât know, come to a Hellfire m-meeting?â
âM-me? Really?â
âY-yeah, I mean, if you want to. Although you practically should, you might be better at D&D than any of the membersâ he chuckled. âAnd then maybe, I donât know, we can get something to eat or⌠something?â
âLike⌠a date?â you asked, feeling your cheeks burning.
âYeahâ Eddie smiled. âI m-mean, if you would⌠like thatâ he said.
âItâs a dateâ you smiled before he leaned down to kiss you.
The End

Thanks a bunch to my sassy crazy lil sis @mysupernaturalfics for betaing this for me.
***My fics are not to be saved nor posted on any other sites without my express written permission.***
A sharp pain shot through your head as you started regaining consciousness, making you instinctively closed your eyes tighter together.
âI am dying. What the hell did I drink last night?â You thought to yourself as you quickly started to remember the last memory you had was sitting at the bar laughing at your sister who you had all forced to do karaoke.
âWhere the hell am I?â Was the next thought that entered your mind, quickly followed by a rush of panic. It wasnât a mattress beneath you. It was skin. Skin against your skin. âOh my God Iâm naked! Heâs naked. Fuck!â
Your eyes opened wide and you shot up into a seating position, nearly falling of the backseat of the car you found yourself to be in. The guy beneath you woke up with a grunt as you pushed your hand against his chest in effort to get up and away from him. You quickly grabbed the nearest piece of clothing you could find, covering yourself up as you started as the man before you.
âWho the hell are you? What did we do? Whereâs my clothes?â you practically screamed at the man, making him frown in discomfort from your high pitched voice. You panic seemed to wake him up fast though and he pushed himself up to sit besides you. Unlike you however he made no effort to cover himself up, and even in your panic it was a little hard not to stare. Especially with his proud morning glory pointing right at you.
âWhoa take it easy sweetheart. Iâm Dean. I donât really remember but my guess is the horizontal tango and I am sure they are around here somewhere,â Dean grumbled, clearly not to thrilled with the daylight shining through the windshield.
âOh My God! Could youâŚâ you waved towards the full salute he was giving you. Dean looked down before looking back at you sending you an apologetic smirk. He grabbed his boxers of the floor of the car and wiggled into them, giving you a full show of his physique. Your jaw dropped slightly as you caught a glimpse of his firm pinchable ass. Your eyes wandered to the his biceps and the way his muscles flexed under miles of creamy skin dusted with freckles as he moved. You had had a one night stand with a goddamn porn star and you couldnât even remember it.
âFor fucks sake Y/N control yourself! He could be some perv! Who picks up a drunk woman in a bar and bangs her in the back of his car anyway?â You scolded yourself which Dean must have picked up on. A soft smile spread across his face as he reached out to you, only causing you to back up closer to the door clenching the shirt you were holding closer to your body.
âIâm not gonna hurt youâŚâ Dean frowned clearly searching for a name and your jaw dropped again. This time in anger. He had slept with you and he didnât even know your name.
âYou donât remember my name?!â You whined and a slightly annoyed expression spread across his face.
âHey it is not like you remembered mine either, Princess.â Dean huffed and your mouth open and closed as you searched for words.
âWell it is not Princess. It is Y/N. Why donât you get dressed and get out of the car so I can find my clothes?â You knew you were being unreasonable, but you also didnât care. This wasnât like you. You didnât have one night stands and certainly not in the back of a guyâs car. A guy whose name you hadnât even known when you woke up.
âI can, but I am gonna need that,â Dean smirked pointing towards the shirt you had been clenching against your naked chest, causing an angry âArgh!â to erupt from your lungs, tossing it at his face only to quickly replace it with the dress you had worn last night.
Somehow you managed to both get dressed in the confined space without Dean ever touching you or looking at you. âWell maybe he isnât a complete creep after all, but he is still infuriatingâ
âCan you at least take me back to my hotel?â You asked, wondering whether or not letting a strange man drive you anywhere was such a great idea, but you had no idea where you were and the only place you might be able to find from here was the bar you had been at last night. This was your first time in California, but your sister had wanted to have her wedding ceremony in the place where she had met her husband-to-be. So here you were.
âYou honestly think I would leave you out here,â Dean muttered as he patted his jacket and then the pockets of his pants. âGreat he had lost the car keys!â
âDid you lose your keys?â You questioned with your hands nailed to your hips. You knew you are being hard on him, but the alternative to blaming him for everything was admitting you were as much to blame for this mess as he was. You werenât quite ready to go there yet.
âNo,â Dean pulled a face at you before ducking back into the backseat of the Impala and you poked your head in after him.
âThen what are we waiting for?â you hissed at him and Dean looked up at you with a look on his face that could kill elderly people and small children.
âI lost my brotherâs rings okay?!â Dean hissed at you and you bit your lip trying your hardest not to laugh. It wasnât polite and he did look scary as hell. Still for some reason you didnât fear him. Something told you, even though you barely knew the man, you didnât have too.
âYou lost your brotherâs wedding ring? You are an awesome best man,â you deadpanned making him glare at you.
âYou know what you could help since Sam is getting married in 6 hours and we are not going anywhere until I find the damn ringâ Dean huffed at you and your eyes instantly widen with the information.
âWait? Sam? Not Winchester?â A combination between panic and anger started to build in your stomach as you stared daggers into the man before you. Dean stood up straight and looked at you over the roof of his black car with a puzzled expression on his face.
âYeah Winchester. How did you knowâŚâ Dean started but you saw red. Your hands balled at your sides and your body tensed up as you screamed at him. âYou lost my sisterâs ring?!â
Dean brows shut to his forehead and his jaw dropped. âOri is your sister? You donât look that much like her.â
âWell you donât look that much like Sam either. Where did you put the damn ring?â you all but stomped the ground, knowing how much this day meant to your sister. You couldnât believe this idiot had gotten drunk and dropped her and her future husbands wedding bands somewhere God knows where.
Your anger was mirrored in Dean instantly. Dean was a big guy. 6ft something and broad shouldered. You knew the look he send you should make you feel like crawling into a hole, but for some reason you saw past it. Dean was an idiot and probably a manwhore, but he didnât strike you as a bad guy. Still the next words out of his mouth made you wanna strangle him. No not strangle him, you wanted to barbeque and filet him, before throwing him into a pool of piranhas.
âHow the hell do you expect me to remember where I put a damn ring when I canât even remember if I wore a condom last night,â Dean spat at you, making you pull of your shoe and fling it at him.
âHey!â Dean ducked the upcoming snicker-misil before going back to staring you down, clearly not appreciating the blame game you were playing on him. Â Â
âHow the hell do you not remember if you wore a condom?â You hissed before ducking back into the car, searching and roaming around between the blankets and the beer cooler on the floorboard.
âSo youâll search for a condom but not help me find my brotherâs ring? Nice Y/N, real nice.â Dean muttered as he got in next to your continuing his own search, âwhatâs the big deal anyway? You are on the pill right?â
Your eyes shot up up to meet his, your entire body was quivering with anger. You wanted to kill him. Literally wanted to bludgeon him to death with your remaining shoe.
âI donât wanna catch something. I mean I slept with the kinda guy that has sex in the back seat of his car with random chicks,â you sneered at him and Dean instantly pulled a face at you.
âWell I fucked the kinda girl that leaves parties to have sex with strangers in the backseat of their car,â Dean copied your tone and you balled your fists against the seat, slowly counting to ten. You would have killed him, but your sister would be kinda upset if Sam would have to replace his best man on such short notice. So instead you let out another âarghâ sound and went back to your search.
You searched in silence for a few minutes before you finally came across the balled up filled rubber. âOh Thank God.â
âYou found it,â Dean looked up with a hopeful expression on his face and you pulled a face at him.
âNot the ring. Your⌠leftovers.â You hissed at him. âWhich I am not touching by the way.â
âWell you clearly didnât have any trouble touching any parts of me last night,â Dean retorted before running his hand through his hair. His voice softened with his next words. âLook this is not getting us anywhere. Would you just please help me find the damn ring. For Sam and Ori. Please?â Dean begged and you took a deep breath.
He was right. You were pissed at him, but that didnât matter. Your sisterâs happiness was more important than your hurt feelings.
âFine. It is clearly not here. So letâs backtrack. Where is the last time you remember having it?â You knew you still sounded annoyed but your voice had soften as well.
âI donât know. At the bar I think?â Had you not been this furious with him, you would have found his whining cute. His pout really is kinda adorable. âI bet those lips did feel good when we⌠No dammit Y/N. Focusâ
âBig Food Lounge?â You frowned remembering where you and the other bridesmaids had dragged your sister for the night.
âYeah that sounds about right,â Dean muttered, âYou think you can find that place?â
You rolled your eyes at him and retreated your shoe before getting got in the the car next to the man you werenât sure if you wanted to strangle or drag back into the backseat for another round, you would actually remember. He was pissing you off but it wasnât like those thighs hadnât caught your attention. âAnd those hands. Fuck just think about what he could do with⌠Dammit Y/N!â
The car ride through town and back to the bar was mostly quiet aside from his directions and the classic rock softly playing from the car stereo.
âWhy did you come here anyway? He knew we were here.â You questioned as you walked through the doors to the morning silent bar. Actually you were more than a little lucky the place wasnât completely closed up for the day.
âSam wanted to see Ori, so Cas and I decided to take him,â Dean shrugged like it was no big deal. We were all pretty smashed when we got here and so were most of the bridal party if I remember correctly.
âCan I help you?â A voice sounded behind you, making you and Dean both spin around to face the person behind you. âWeâre closed. The door was open for the delivery guy. We open back up at 5 pm.â The man clearly tried ushering you towards the door, but Dean didnât budge.
âLook man, we just need a few minutes okay,â you only half listened to Dean as he tried to explain your situation to the man. Rather than taking part of the conversation you were looking around the room, searching for anything that would kickstart your memories. Finally when your line of sight landed on a bull in the far corner of the room and a few images from last night entered your mind. Dean being one of them. You remembered laughing with Dean and challenging him to duel. The alcohol making you overly sure of yourself and the belief there was no way he could stay on the bull longer than you.
âWe rode that!â You tugged Deanâs sleeve eagerly pointing towards the bull, completely ignoring the conversation he was having with the owner of the establishment. Rather than waiting for him you rushed towards the pad, hoping the ring would have fallen from Deanâs pocket when the bull bucked him around or when it had sent him flying onto the mattress.
âIs it okay if we take a look around?â You heard Deanâs voice behind you was you dropped to your knees starting to search the floor.
âYeah man, good luck. Thereâs been a lot of people past here last night since the two of you left through the backdoor,â the bartender spoke in a suggestive tone of voice and your eyes rolled to the back of your head. Still you kept searching only to be joined by Dean a few seconds later.
âAnything yet?â he questioned, making you look up from your search to glare at him.
âYeah I already found it. I just really love crawling around on sticky barroom floors, where people most likely vomit every night.â Your obvious mockery made Dean sit up straight and stare you down.
âHow long are you gonna keep blaming me for everything? I might not remember what happened last night but I know I didnât drag you into my car, that much I know. You were there because you wanted to be, sweetheart,â Dean stated, never taking his eye off you, silently challenging you to talk back.
You wanted too. God knew you did, but he was right. Dean, as annoyingly idiotic and handsome as he was, didnât strike you as the kinda of guy that wouldnât take no for an answer. You had liked him, and if you pushed away your anger about this whole situation aside for a few seconds, you kinda also saw why. You had treated him like crap from the moment you had woken up, yet he was still here with you. He was still trying to be nice to you. Dean wasnât a bad guy. You were the bitch.
âIâm sorry okay,â you spoke in a angry voice, but when you saw the surprised look on Deanâs face your voice softened. âThis is frustrating and it is also now who I am. I donât get drunk to the point, where I canât remember the previous night and I donât sleep with strangers and wake up naked in the back of cars.â
A warm chuckle left Deanâs chest, âwell thereâs a first for everything.â You stared at him wanting to yell at him but the raised eyebrow he send you made you break down in laughter along with him. You searched in quiet for a while after that before Dean decided it wasnât there, helping you back on your feet.
âNow what?â You sighed, defeated throwing your arms from your sides into the air.
âHeyâŚâ Dean took you completely by surprise when he grabbed your hand. You felt a shot of electricity course through your body, when his huge hand envelope yours. The butterflies in your stomach rendered you utterly speechless and you just watched him stare at the childlike ring on your hand.
âYou like penguins.â Deanâs eyes found yours, but you still didnât trust your voice so you just nodded. A big goofy grin graced Deanâs features as he repositioned your hand in his, dragging you towards the exist. âI remember where I took you.â
You didnât say a word as Dean opened the car door for you and sent you a smile that made your heart skip a beat. âY/n just focus on the damn ring. He is your brother-in-lawâs brother. Donât even go⌠oh look how pretty his eyes are when the sun⌠dammit Y/N!â Â
On the drive Dean explained to you how there was an aquarium no to far from the hotel, he had been staying at with Cas and Sam. Your mother hadnât trusted the boys to be in the same hotel as you, your sister and the bridesmaids, which clearly had been a good call on her part. None effective but still a good call.
âThey have a penguin exhibit here. I remember watching it with you,â Dean smiled at you, making your heart skip a beat, as he parked across the street from the aquarium.
âHow? It was the middle of the night. They couldnât have been openâŚâ your jaw dropped as Dean pulled a teasing expression at you.
âYou broke in?â You stared at him in disbelief as Dean opened the car door readying to get out.
âWe, sweetheart. And technically no. We just jumped a fence,â Dean winked at you before you both got out of the car, walking side by side towards the aquarium. The entire time you couldnât help but wish he would take your hand again, but he didnât. He did however manage to talk his way into the Aquarium. Apparently the young guard, who were at the gate had also been working the night shift and he unlike his boss had found it more than a little funny, when he had found the two of you kissing beneath the underwater penguin habitat.
You walked to the fence Dean remembered, you having jumped but there was no sign of the ring. He took you to the tunnels of the exhibit that had been your destination last night and still nothing. A memory did however appear in your mind as Dean kept his eyes nailed to the ground searching for the ring. Yours however rested on him.
You remembered the warm feeling, when his strong arms wrapped around you. You remembered the bubbling happiness deep inside you as you watched the diving penguins with him. You remembered the butterflies and the way time had stood still when his lips had met yours in a tender kiss.
âYOU!â a voice thundered through the tunnels and Dean looked up instantly, before his eyes met yours.
âWell I guess thatâs the boss,â Dean smirked at you, grabbing your hand as you felt the panic start to rise inside of you. Dean, however looked like he was having the time of his life as he dragged you through the halls of the aquarium and back toward the fence, he helped you scale. Once you were safely on the other side, you laughed with him as he took your hand, running with you away from the pissed off guard and the aquarium, where you had shared the first kiss with a man you barely knew, but who you werenât no longer completely sure you werenât in love with. âY/N he is trouble. But that kiss. He might be worth it. Dammit Y/N focus on the damn ring!â Â Â Â Â
âDean,â you stopped causing Dean to come to a halt with you before you let go of his hand. âThe beach.â You ran across the street and towards the ocean with Dean closely behind you, before you stopped.
âDid we⌠I think we went swimming,â you looked up at him and you saw the realization dawn on him. You saw the memory enter his mind along with a small smile in his eyes, before it was replaced with frustration and then anger, when he realized what that meant.
âSon of a Bitch,â Dean yelled as he kicked the sand, making you jump. It was the first time you had seen him lose control like that and you slowly started to realize, just how much his brother really meant to him. You hated that the ring was gone, but more than that, you hated seeing Dean like this. You had no idea why. You barely knew the man, but the pain and anger in his eyes tore into your soul. You wanted nothing more than to hold him and to comfort him. You couldnât. It wasnât your place. You were a one night stand that neither if you even remembered. Holding him was not something you were entitled to do.
âDean I am sorry,â your voice was soft as you ran a hand down his arm, âbut we have to get back the the hotel and the wedding.â
âYeah. Okay,â you could see the tears in behind his eyes and you hated it. You hated he was hurting and there was nothing you could do to make him feel better.
Your drive back to the hotel, after managing to sneak back to Deanâs car unnoticed, were quiet. You felt his pain. You felt guilty about the way, you had treated him but also for being part of the reason your sister werenât getting her dream wedding. âWhat the hell are we gonna do?â You looked at Dean and the expression on his face almost cost you tears. He was hurting and beating himself up over this. It was clear as day to you. You wanted to say something, do something to comfort him, but you had no idea what, so you stayed in your seat quiet.
You stayed in your seats for minutes after Dean had parked the car under the Hotel, just staring into nothing.
âSamâs gonna kill me,â Dean finally broke the silence and you took a deep breath before adding to his thought.
âMy sister is gonna kill us both,â your eyes met his and you tried your best to send him a reassuring smile, but it probably just came out as a grimace. âWe need to get inside.â
Dean didnât argue. He followed you out of the car and through the parking garage. As you were standing in the elevator waiting for it to bring you to the lobby, you took his hand. Dean didnât look at you or pull away, he just gave your hand a small squeeze, letting you know without words, he appreciated the gesture.
You had barely stepped out into the lobby before a Meg and her husband, or who you assumed to be her husband Cas since you had never met him before, came running towards you.
âWhere the hell have you two been? Ori is freaking outâ Meg scolded before Cas spoke. His words directed at Dean, but not sounding much happier, âSam about ready to kill you Dean. I was about to go search the local jails. What the hell were you thinking?.â
âYeah he is not gonna be much happier now I am here,â Dean mumbled and you gave his hand a small squeeze, silently letting him know you were there for him. âI lost the rings,â Dean confessed as he looked his friend in the eyes. Casâ eyes opened wide before he bend over laughing, which didnât exactly improve Deanâs mood.
âWhat the hell Cas? How is that even the slightest bit funny?â Dean growled at the blue eyed man before you, who instantly stopped and pulled a small box from his pocket and handed it to Dean.
âYou gave them to me before you went on that weird bull, you assbutt,â Cas grinned at Dean who just stared at the small box now in his hand with disbelief written all over his face. He quickly turned to face you with an apologetic look on his face.
âY/N I am so sorry. I didnât remember and I dragged youâŚ.â you didnât give him time to finish. You just threw yourself into his arms, reacting purely on instinct and the relief and happiness coursing through your body.
Dean chuckled as he wrapped his arms around you holding you close for a few seconds before you pulled apart. The air was thick between you as you stared into each otherâs eyes. âHis eyes are so green. Is that gold? Fuck his lips looks so soft. I wish he would⌠wait is he going to kiss me?â
Megâs hand closed around your arm pulling you backwards towards the elevators. Never in your life had you wanted to slap anyone so much as you did her right then. Well maybe except for Dean when he stated he had no idea if he had worn a condom last night. Still you wanted back in his arms and your eyes never left his as Meg dragged you backwards away from him.
âSee you at the wedding, sweetheart,â Dean called after you and you couldnât help but smile as you watch Cas haul Dean in the opposite direction.
Dean didnât leave your mind as your sister scolded you, nor did he stray from your thoughts as you got dressed or drove with the bridal party to the church where Sam was waiting for Ori and maybe, just maybe Dean was waiting to see you.
Then it happened, right as you stepped into the church. Images of the night before began flooding your brain. Memories of how his lips had wandered all over your body. Memories of his hands covering your breasts as he pounded into you. Memories of your own screams of his name, echoed by his grunts of pleasure. Memories of the windows of the Impala fogging up as your entire body quivered with ecstasy. Memories of how sweetly he had kissed you for minutes after you had both found your release and memories of how you had fallen asleep in his arms feeling safe and cared for. Nothing about how those memories made Dean feel like a one night stand and still you couldnât bring yourself to look at him as he walked you down the aisle. You felt his eyes on you as you sister said yes to Sam and Sam promised to love and honor her for the rest of their lives, but you never looked up. He couldnât.
Your thoughts played tricks on you, imagining yourself making the same promises Ori had just made to Sam to his brother one day. âStop it Y/N. Today is about them. You were just a fun night to him. Donât do this to yourself.â
It wasnât until after dinner and after Ori and Sam had shared their first dance as husband and wife you felt Deanâs hand on your arm. A soft touch begging for attention, before you turned around to face his bright smile. A smile that made the sun pale in comparison and made your heart skip.
âWanna dance?â Dean asked you, looking almost shy and you couldnât say no. Actually you couldnât say anything so instead you just took his hand, just like you had the night before as he lead you towards his car. He wrapped his arm around your waist pulling you close to him, not unlike he had last night as he pressed you against the car door kissing you deeply before guiding you inside. The memory of how his rough calloused hands but touch had felt against your exposed skin made you look down and blush.
You could hear the smile in his voice as he spoke, giving your hip a small squeeze almost causing your legs to give way under you. âSo you remembered too huh?â
A pit started to form in your stomach and your tears pressed against your eyes as you nodded, still not facing him. âHe doesnât feel the same Y/N. Just stop. You were a random girl on a random night. This will just be a funny story to him.â
Dean gently pressed two fingers underneath your chin, while his other arm stayed firmly wrapped around your waist, keeping you in place. Your eyes reluctantly met his and you sucked in a breath. You had not expected to see the love and warmth you found in them as he almost whispered, âI donât regret anything Y/N. Only that I donât remember every last detail.â
Your heart rate quickened along with your breathing as you made a quick decision. A decision you were absolutely sure you werenât going to regret this time. You took Deanâs hand in yours and he let you drag him out of the hotelâs ballroom and into the lobby towards the parking cellar, where his shining black car was waiting for you. Dean didnât speak, nor did you face him before you reached the same side of the car, he had pushed you against last night.
This time you made the first move, standing on your toes and crashing your lips against his. Your arms closed around his neck and his around your waist, as he allowed you to deepen the kiss. He held you but never once did he try to take control. He kissed you back, but he let you keep the lead right up untill you pulled apart, both slightly out of breath.
You bite your lip as you took a steep backwards opening the door to the backseat of the Impala and crawling in.
âWhat are you doing Y/N/N?â Dean send you a mischievous grin you didnât hesitate to return as you held out your hand offering it to him, pulling him into the backseat with you.
âMaking a memory that will last,â you promised before his lips found your pulse point, robbing you of all coherent thoughts. Nothing no longer matter. Not drunken nights, not lost wedding bands, not your sister and Deanâs brotherâs wedding party upstair. There were only you and Dean and the knowledge you had found each other and the unspoken promise of never letting go again.
