thinking abt... the connotative difference between being a killer vs a weapon,
#ooc;; mun barks#i have smthing in the drafts rambling but i keep going off on tangents#n its becoming convoluted tbh#but. ik that there is frequently a theme to being in the military or having a pedigree that will name you weapon#but in my head cole is more organic;#to me he is animal ; this goes in tandem with an animal's understanding on the cycle of life and death and killing while still having#a very human heart capable of great empathy ; and when i say 'Animal' i dont mean it in ways that wld separate him from#HUMANITY bc i think his brutality is also what makes him HUMAN n not in a GUILT RIDDEN way but in appreciation towards smthng...#terrifyingly beautiful actually#ik there are also DOG motifs to weaponry; attack dog etc etc and i will not actually associate cole w DOG#either even though COYOTES are funnily enough literally DOGS in the biological sense :skull:#but nyway it has to do with autonomy n the fact that one of cole's strongest motifs is free will and human spirit#that he had these abrasively raw talents in taking a life before he ever set foot in a military setting#shooting and hunting is a SPORT and his mother's side of the family held PRESTIGE in the sport of spanish bull fighting...#and i just think abt how these qualities of him almost imitate his namesake of COAL ; raw potential for a fire#something that could BURN somebody or WARM them#he is a killer... and in some ways perhaps it is a birthright to having flesh and blood
