Actually playing the first game is making me realize 1. how completely out of nowhere the tank battle mechanic was in rocket slime and 2. how much potential they missed for overworld puzzles and boss fights

#i definitely like how open the RS worlds feel compared to SMM and how much the game rewards you for collecting things #and i think having a use for the items other than fetch quests is a massive improvement on gameplay #but the gameplay also a lot more hands-off and kinda boring compared to SMM #and i have to wonder if maybe having actual gameplay elements in the overworld wouldve made the backhalf of the game less of a grind fest #this games more lowkey and straightforward but infinitely more balanced #slime mori mori #rocket slime
