Question about the mods :D Out of curiosity
Have all mods been working all six years of Febuwhump? Or have they changed around a few times since the first one you ran?
as stated a billion kajillion times, there is only one mod! that is me! @tempestaurora!
6 years of history is a little different though, so here's how febuwhump still exists today:
6 years ago, febuwhump existed and was run by someone unknown. I do not have graphics from that event, I have never seen anything to prove it happened other than I was told it did (and a few fics on ao3), so the whole thing is like a murder mystery without proof that theres even a dead body. I asked around and tried to figure out who ran it in the years since and got firmly nowhere.
I think this mystery person (or people) only ran 1 year, but there's no way to be sure. either way, all of that febuwhump existence I refer to as the first febuwhump. After febuwhump 2019, the blog was deleted. The url became available.
at the time, I was in an irondad spiderson discord server and @hailing-stars (some might recognise the name as the only other febuwhump discord server mod ever) was sad about how the febuwhump blog had vanished and it was a shame. I think they'd taken part the year before and wanted to again.
I went, lol that doesn't sound hard to run. I'll run it so you can take part.
so for febuwhump 2020, which we call febuwhump 2: electric boogaloo, because it was a sequel to the original febuwhump, and I never wanted to claim being the original febuwhump, I ran specifically for just that one person, although 400 fics were written for the collection that year, and it wasn't that hard, and it went really well, and a whump blog interviewed me about it (which I can't find now).
and then I just kept going. like zero thoughts in my brain, every time the year wrapped back around to December I went, oh I guess it's time to plan febuwhump. hailing does not even participate anymore to my knowledge, I am just still going on auto-event or something.
so it's been me by myself the whole time! for 5 years! we had febuwhump 3: tokyo drift, fourbuwhump, feb five and now, currently, febuwhump: revenge of the sixth, which is why I have been hiding little obi wan kenobis in the blog art for a month and a half.
I am totally content to run febuwhump by myself, although every year I get a lot of people volunteering to help which is sweet. I just don't really need it. it's not a hard job lol.
but if anyone wants to solve the mystery of who ran the first febuwhump, that would be fun. I have been feeling a little like I've been standing in someone's grave for five years and I really want to be able to give credit where credit is due.
I also get asks every year about why the event is called "febuwhump" and not "februwhump". I even see people mistakenly tag the latter in their prompt fills. so the official reason for that is - I didn't name the event. a mystery person did. and we continue to use it because of brand identity and februwhump simply not sounding very good.

Spider-Man Fics Masterlist 2
part one
5 times Peter Parker ignores Flash and 1 time he didn’t (ao3) - Dorthea N/R, 14k
Summary: Flash is known for being a bully, and most of the time Peter ignores it. But what happens when he dosen’t ignore Flash?
Or 5 times Peter Parker ignores Flash and 1 time he didn’t.
A Parent Apparent (ao3) - happyaspie mj/peter T, 528k
Summary: In which the author indulges herself in some shameless Irondad/Spiderson with fluff, angst and everything in between because she needs more of that in her life.
OR
Just another one of those, oh so overdone, fanfics where Tony and Peter’s relationship grows into more of a father/son relationship after an accident involving Aunt May (who lives)
Brave as a Noun (ao3) - edema_ruh M, 161k
Summary: Some people think that Peter is Tony’s son. Why shouldn’t they? Peter seems to be orbiting Tony all the time, and it’s not like the billionaire tells him off. They have a nice relationship - Peter is glad to have a father figure, and Tony cares for the kid as if he’s actually his son.
The first problem regarding this arises when the people who think that Peter is Tony’s son kidnap him for ransom.
The second problem regarding this arises when one of the people who kidnaps Peter turns out to be Mac Gargan, the Scorpion, and he’s hungry for revenge.
Daily Bugle Report: Under New Management (ao3) - d0d0bird M, 4k
Summary: Peter Parker had worked at the Bugle for years. He and Betty had grown close. Betty had even developed feelings for him, though he never opened up to her. She considered that it may have been stupid to turn on all of her friends for someone like that. Sometimes it felt like she had no one left.
“Hey.”
“Hey,” sighed Betty with a smile, turning around to see Ned.
Ned had a gentle smile on his face as he looked at Betty digging through the trash. Ned had been the only one not to completely turn against Betty following the trial. He continued to say hi to her every morning, offer his help, and ask her advice on stories. His wide, almost dopey smile had become comforting.
Distracted by a Dime (ao3) - happyaspie steve/tony T, 56k
Summary: Peter Parker thinks he has everything figured out. Where he can eat, sleep and make a little bit of money. What he needs to do in order to continue attending Midtown High and being Queen’s friendly neighborhood Spider-man. How to keep his entire situation under wraps and most importantly, who he can trust.
Then, along comes Tony Stark with an offer he can’t refuse. The plan is to remain professional, to not get too close to the Stark-Rogers’ family. Not getting comfortable means not slipping up and saying anything that he can’t take back.
…but for Peter- things rarely go as planned…
Do I Deserve This? (ao3) - id_rather_be_reading_3 T, 72k
Summary: When the Avengers find a malnourished, traumatized, enhanced teen in a Hydra base, they manage to convince SHIELD that the kid is better off in the Compound than the SHIELD Headquarters.
Peter Parker thinks his luck might finally be changing for the better, until he hears a conversation between Captain America and Iron Man that terrifies him–if the superheroes find out that Peter was an assassin for Hydra, he feels certain they’ll kick him out–or worse, send him to the Raft for a punishment he surely deserves.
Can the Spider manage to keep his bloodied past a secret from a room full of mind readers, spies and military? It’ll certainly prove harder than he’d thought.
Dumpster Diving for Treasure (ao3) - Clovrtree T, 185k
Summary: After waking up from his own demise in an alternate universe, Peter's first course of action is to gather as much information and resources as possible to make his life easier. In doing this, he decides that dumpster diving at local playboy billionaire, Bruce Wayne's, manor would be the best place to find anything useful. Unfortunately for Peter, it's trash day, and a certain butler catches him mid-dive.
if you run fast enough (ao3) - silvyri peter/wade E, 60k
Summary: Peter probably shouldn't be falling asleep on Deadpool, but after the Merc with a Mouth saves him from being abducted by two dick Alphas, he doesn't try as hard as he should to not.
I Think Clint Was Right (ao3) - prettycheese21 G, 7k
Summary: Or that time Clint eavesdropped on a few conversations, came up with a conspiracy theory, and convinced the other Avengers to go along with it; and Tony and Peter are left wondering how this kind of misunderstanding could have even happened.
I Think I Missed a Step (‘Cause I’m Fallin’ For You) (ao3) - mokuyoubi peter/wade E, 42k
Summary: Peter thinks Wade knows his secret identity, and Wade is really confused by the hot coed who keeps popping up and hanging out with him.
it's always who is spider-man, never how is spider-man (ao3) - i_regret_thatpersonalityquiz harley/peter, wanda/vision, pepper/tony T, 176k
Summary: Peter had been living on the streets, dealing with your average homeless vigilante stuff. Things got a bit more complicated when the Avengers started to chase him down.
It's a Secret to Everybody (ao3) - Snapdragon_in_the_Snow pepper/tony T, 97k
Summary: “I have kids," Clint said. "I know dad behavior when I see it.” Tony blinked multiple consecutive times, processing the statement. “Excuse me?” “Tony,” Steve said now, “how long have you had a son? And how come we’ve never known about him?” “Yeah,” Clint spoke again, “I thought I was the only one with a secret family. Turns out you’ve had one longer than me!” ------- Peter gets to spend all summer living in Avengers Tower with Tony. When the Rogue Avengers get pardoned and come back to live at the Tower too, they're confused as to who Peter is. However, once they see how Tony acts around Peter, that confusion goes away, as they know for certain who Peter must be - Tony's secret son. Tony and Peter decide to make the most of the situation, and play along. They hope they can keep up the act all summer. But they soon learn that they barely have to act at all.
Miscommunications (ao3) - Isnt_it_pretty_to_think_so T, 14k
Summary: Five times the Avengers learn about Peter Parker, and the one time the rest of the world does, too.
Missing Links (ao3) - spagbol99 steve/bucky, pepper/tony M, 424k
Summary: The Rogues are back; Tony Stark couldn't even be mad about it - it was his idea after all. He's an Avenger and that means protecting the Earth at any cost - even if he has to deal with a certain star-spangled man and his sullen sidekick. After all, he's been through worse in his life; the loss of his wife and the disappearance of his son 12 years ago. Compared to that, this would be a walk in the park.
Bucky Barnes is back on US soil as a free man. But freedom is more than just physical. On top of that, Steve is desperate for him to be the man he was before. The only problem is; that man is long dead.
Peter Parker has been through the mill but he knows he just had to adapt, roll with the (many) punches and keep going. Spider-man is his safe place now, the one time he could truly feel like himself. Like he is making a difference. He'd make sure no one would suffer like he has, even if he has to track down the perpetrator himself.
Not Who You Think (ao3) - lostintheclouds321 G. 14k
Summary: Flash and his father are awarded a tour of the Avenger’s compound.
Peter Parker’s Super Secret Snack Stash (ao3) - coconutknightshade T, 7k
Summary: Or in which Peter uses FRIDAY’s system to have a conversation with Ned about AP History while he’s sneaking into his super secret snack stash in the kitchen.
Or in which Peter’s spidey senses betray him in the most embarrassing of ways.
Protocol Be Damned (ao3) - Icylightning T, 31k
Summary: “Have you heard of Tony Stark?”
Peter’s eyes instantly widened at the mention of the man’s name. You’re not a New Yorker of you haven’t heard of Mafia Boss Tony Stark, the most dangerous and violent person in the city. Rumors say the man talks with a gun in hand and if he doesn’t like what he hears, the gun ends their conversation. It was not that the cops never tried to arrest the man but they failed everytime, either due to lack of evidence or in some cases fear of life
“Kid, hey did you hear what I just said?” the manager snapped his fingers bringing Peter back to reality who blinked rapidly, trying not to show his fear “Yeah.. Sir.. umm.. what?”
That Neighborhood Menace, Spider-Man (ao3) - Blue (SocksandFluff) T, 59k
Summary: Peter had only been in the gig of being Spider-Man for less than two years. He avoided the Avengers and other heroes like the plague, knowing that if they knew who he was and how old he was that they’d stop him from helping people.
Now Spider-Man is entangled in assumptions of character, and the fear that he is a vigilante that could go rogue and power-hungry, the Avengers are tasked at stopping him before he 'goes too far’.
This is a story about how Spider-Man and the Avengers finally meet -
- and how Peter might get more than he would ever ask for.
The Ghost of Heroes (ao3) - Enigmaris, ScarletNightFury danny phantom/spiderman T, 291k
Summary: New York City isn't prepared for a ghostly invasion. The Avengers are finally all in the same place again. Thor and Bruce are back from space with a semi-reformed chaos god and a thousand refugees in tow. Steve and the Rogues have got their pardons and are ready to start being heroes again. But Tony isn't ready trust, neither is his new protegee Spiderman. The fractured team can't seem to come together. It's a good thing then that Danny Phantom is ready to save the day. That doesn't mean anyone is prepared for when he keeps showing up.
The Lost and Forgotten (ao3) - Litcraz T, 272k
Summary: In order to save everyone's lives, Peter is forced to give up memories - their memories of him. As a result, he is left entirely alone in a world where no one knows he exists. After finally moving on with his life, a new threat arises, bringing Peter back directly into the Avengers' path.

haii!! im looking for any fanfics where peters in a school play? i read one really interesting one of peter playing spiderman in a play about the infinity war, and it intrigued me!! im fine with any kind of play tho, just an interesting trope i have yet to find more than 3 fics on :3
The first one might be the fic you have already read. The second one has a Spider-man play. Happy reading!
All the world's a stage by aceofhearts111
(And all the men and women merely players) So. Midtown is putting on a school play about the Avengers battle against Thanos. Fine, right? Wrong. Said play is also required. And Peter has a lead role. Oh, and the Avengers are coming to see the show. [Irondad and Spiderson, longer summary and timeline inside]
Stage Fright by blondsak & seekrest
“A theater company decided to produce a musical based on Spider-Man,” Pepper explains. “It apparently has all sorts of special effects, including flying sequences. Oh, and Sting wrote the music.” “Sting, huh?” Tony says, rubbing at his chin. “Well, sounds interesting enough.” He turns to Peter, who continues to look annoyed. “Why the long face, kid? Not every day someone has a rock legend write songs about them.” Peter groans. “It’s just—it’s embarrassing, okay? And besides, Spider-Man is serious, he’s not supposed to be for entertainment. And they don’t even know anything about me—they’ll probably make me out to be, like, a dumb jock or something.” “With those twigs for legs? Doubtful,” Tony remarks, then at Peter’s scowl, adds, “Chin up, underoos. Try to look at it as an honor. Even Cap didn’t get an entire Broadway musical.” “I guess,” Peter grumbles. Or: the Spidey Fam decides to attend opening night of the newest Broadway musical, The Amazing Spider-Man! But unfortunately for Peter, a certain villain with a penchant for drama is planning a separate show of his own.

Hello happy Saturday! How are things? Got any weekend plans or projects in the works that you want to talk about? I'm thinking about doing a little redecorating today, maybe plant some spearmint (in a pot not the ground I'm not crazy), maybe play some sims, write some words... Perhaps not in that order lol
Well, this is awkward. Some of us 🙄 assumed this was another spam message and it sat untouched with all the other messages waiting to be reported and deleted until just now. lol! I'm so sorry!
I saw the pics you posted... I love your view. Hopefully we'll have some green to brag about in the next week. 🤞 And I'm super jealous, btw. Pot or no pot- we're still a month from planting season where I am and would kill to get my hands in some mud.
This, however, has been one of those weekends... and I'm so looking forward to the end of it. I'm HOPING that this will be a writing week, but hubby is planning to catch up on 15 years worth of home improvement projects. I have a feeling I'll be holding screwdrivers and a hammer in support. ugh.
IF I do get a chance to hit the ol' word document though (Yes, I still use Word! I'm old!), I'm waffling between working on my forever untitled Irondad/Spiderson or starting on the recently revealed first prompt for this year's September. Decisions, decisions.
Hey! There's a conversation starter for you! Where do you find a story title that doesn't make you cringe?!

10 Questions For Fic Writers
Thank you @eviebane for the tag! <3 No pressure tags: @skellebonez, @deviliciousnavy, and anyone else who wants to cuz i cant think of names lol
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 32!
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 110,161 :3
3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently writing for Lego Monkie Kid, but before that was Good Omens, and before that was Marvel (specifically Irondad and Spiderson). I also have an unfinished snippet for an ROTTMNT idea i had. And I plan on writing for Batfam eventually, as well as more Marvel things (When I used to go by another username on the internet, I also wrote sans x reader, warrior cats, batman oc, and 2012 tmnt oc fics)
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I reply to every single comment cuz I don't get many lmao. It makes me very happy to receive one, so I always make sure to respond with a thank you even if it's not immediately
5. Have you ever had a fic stolen? I hope not 😭
6. Have you ever co-written a fic before? I've beta'd multiple fics, but I haven't co-written anything as of yet
7. What's your all-time favourite ship? Oh man, you're making me choose?? I suppose romantic: Crowley and Aziraphale, and platonic: Either MK and Wukong or Tony Stark and Peter Parker. I'm a sucker for mentor-mentee-turned-kinda-sorta-familial relationships lmao
8. What are your writing strengths? Writing panic. I have hella anxiety so I find it very easy to dive into dark emotions and run on sentences. It's one of my favorite things honestly, to write out racing thoughts to convey just how stressed the character is. I think I'm also fairly good at writing dialogue that flows like a real convo, though it's not always perfect lol
9. What are your writing weaknesses? Staring fics 😭 I wrote a 33k fic and the last part I wrote was the opening cuz I just didn't know how to start it. Endings are always very difficult.
10. First fandom you wrote for? Warrior cats. I had just gotten into the books and ended up making Shadowclan just flat out evil. I cringe looking back at it 😭

Tony brings his baby kid, peter to the park for the first time and meets other moms or dads
Wow I've been sitting on this for *checks notes* a month and a half, whoops. Got around to finishing touches today and so here you are, finally!
It got long-ish [~2500 words] and you know meeee i had to add a twist c;
de-aging irondad spiderson fic, all fluff, just a lil pinch of angst like salt in a pastry, enjoy
thanks and much love to @shivanessa for looking it over and giving me some quality suggestions c;
⎊
They were fucking around with Pym particles when it happened.
"Shit! Pete?"
Tony pushed chunks of broken glass aside with one foot and stepped closer to the last known location of his teenaged lab partner as the vapor finally began to clear. Finally, Tony found him.
"Uh oh."
The top half of a literal baby, maybe one year old-ish, was poking out of the collar of the shirt Peter had previously been wearing. It looked at its own pudgy hands with an eerie amount of understanding for such a young face. Then it crossed its arms and glared up at Tony.
"Ummmm, next particle shipment is in three days, right, FRIDAY?"
"Affirmative, boss."
The baby flung itself backward, smacking the ground with its arms up in exasperation and defeat. Which really looked weird for a baby to do.
"Tell May I'm keeping Peter until Tuesday and to get him off school Monday. And put an order in for some baby food."
The baby flicked him off and Tony finally lost it, laughing so hard he nearly keeled over.
Peter wasn't used to being so tiny. Everything looked big. His body felt weird, uncoordinated. Like all of his muscle memory was off kilter. He found he couldn't talk, tongue too clumsy to form the words he knew.
Frustration reigned. He was going to be stuck like this for three days. And of course Tony was laughing hysterically about it. Peter knew he would probably find it funny, too, if he wasn't currently going through it. Right now, though, he was stripped of his speech, his agency and his weekend plans and he found no humor in it. Indignant at Tony, Peter wriggled out of his oversized t-shirt and made to crawl away, careless of the bits of broken glass all around him.
Tony's laughter ended abruptly, "Kid, the glass!"
Peter didn't care. His knees got cut up as he kept crawling away, anger muting the pain. He didn't have a plan yet. Maybe crawl all the way to his room, under his bed, curl up and throw himself a pity party. Alone. Yeah, that sounded pretty good. He made for the door of the lab-
-and was scooped up by two big hands around his middle. Peter let out an indignant wail as his limbs lost contact with the floor, flailing uselessly.
"Kid, calm down!"
With some difficulty, Tony rearranged the squirming baby to face him, holding him up and away from himself as Peter kicked the air.
"Hey! Stop that!" Tony shook him lightly, "Hold still and listen would you, Pete?" Peter went limp after one final kick and pouted valiantly.
“It’s only three days, so stop being a baby about it.” Peter glared at him. Tony tried really hard not to laugh, and mostly failed.
“Look, I’ve got you, okay, kid? It’s gonna be fine. Just work with me here. And please don’t go crawling through glass, for fuck’s sake.”
Tony walked them over to the first aid kit.
“Now, I’m patching you up. Are you gonna cooperate?” Peter rolled his eyes but nodded. He’d calmed a little, and his knees were starting to sting.
“DUM-E, blood on my floor, handle it. Glass, too.” He called absently. The bot chirped and wheeled over to comply.
Tony found some clean scrap fabric– spider suit fabric, coincidentally– to sit Peter on so he wouldn’t be directly on the cold metal workshop table. He picked a few tiny bits of glass out of the small cuts with sterile forceps from the kit. Fortunately, the wounds were shallow, only from scrapes against small sharp pieces. Still, Tony frowned. Sure, he’d seen the kid hurt worse before and come out okay– granted it still sucked every time– but to see him bleeding as a literal one-year-old baby was a new kind of disturbing. Peter was always getting hurt on his watch.
Soon the glass was all removed, the wounds cleaned and bandaged. Tony stood Peter up on the table.
“Sit tight. Do not fall, got it?” Tony narrowed his eyes at him, pointing, “just, don’t even move. Heaven knows this workshop isn’t baby proofed.”
Peter rolled his eyes, then simply stared back with crossed arms.
Tony swiped the scrap of fabric and slowly stepped over to a different table, eyes still on Peter. He feinted looking away slowly only to snap back to Peter, as if the kid was going to move as soon as he took his eyes off him just to be contrary.
Tony grabbed a laser tool and with a few folds, trims and laser stitchings, fashioned some simple underwear.
“Underoos for Underoos!” He declared, holding them up with a grin.
Peter fought his smile but Tony saw it.
Once Peter was no longer in his birthday suit he thanked Tony with a simple gesture, fingers touching his own chin and then extending forward with the palm up. Tony had been the one to introduce him to some american sign language and he was glad he knew some basic expressions he could use in this situation. Tony mirrored the gesture in acknowledgement.
“So, you’re understanding everything, right? But you can’t talk?” Tony asked.
The kid nodded. For a moment he attempted to say something, but managed little more than humming and babbling. He shook his head and pointed toward a nearby monitor, made a grabbing gesture at it. Tony pulled it over for him.
Peter pulled up a keyboard interface and set to pointer-finger typing. Even this was tricky. Mentally he knew where the letters were but his fingers fumbled often, and being literally smaller than he was used to wasn’t helping either. Eventually his message was finished: remember everything but muscle memory reset
“Huh. Okay, we can work with that.”
Tony tapped his chin thoughtfully and meandered over toward the pile of Peter’s teen sized clothes. He picked them up, shook the glass from them in DUM-E’s general direction and laid them on one of the tables to deal with later. He grabbed Peter’s nanoparticle housing unit which he usually wore at his belt.
Tony sat in the office chair by some of his programming consoles, placing the housing unit into a receptacle at the workstation.
“FRI, get with Karen and desync abooouuut 10 moles worth of nanites from the Iron Spider, then copy over the wrist holo display and UI to the new sub-unit. And pull up a copy of the mother code for me. Relabel it…” Tony spun in the chair to look at the baby sitting on a table as he casually swung his legs, looking at something in his little hands, “Spider-baby protocol.”
Peter took the screwdriver he’d been fidgeting with and threw it in Tony’s general direction.
It sailed across the room much faster than Peter had intended, Tony ducking away from it as it flew past his head and impaled itself into one of his glass displays, which promptly flickered out. Tony hadn’t quite been directly in the line of fire, but if he had…
Tony turned his shocked gaze away from the cracked display back to the kid, who’s wide eyes and hand over his open mouth screamed ‘oh shit.’
“Jesus Christ, kid. Can we not, with the attempted murder?”
Peter signed ‘sorry,’ rubbing his heart three times clockwise with a closed fist, gaze serious and somber.
“Apology accepted.”
Then Peter realized what had happened, and what it meant, eyes widening again. His eyes flicked to his own designated work table, where one of his web-shooters was half disassembled, but the other was still untouched. He glanced back at Tony, calculating.
Tony recognized the mischievous gleam in his eye.
“No. No! Don’t even think about it– Peter!”
Peter had slipped off the table and dropped to land on his feet– wow, he was small now. He took half a second to refamiliarize with his balance before padding over to his work table.
“Do not-”
Tony was halfway to him when Peter hopped to reach over the edge of the table and grab the web-shooter. He quickly flicked it against his wrist where it automatically attached itself.
“Your skull is not hard enough right now to be swinging around!”
Tony was reaching out to grab for him just as Peter shot a web at the ceiling and yanked himself airborne with a gleeful shriek. He stuck to the ceiling for a moment, looking back at Tony all the way down on the floor.
“Get down here!”
Peter didn’t. Instead he scuttled around the ceiling and swung from the rafters, cackling all the while.
Tony tapped his arc reactor twice.
⎊⎊⎊
“Stop squirming!”
“What’s going on here?”
Peter and Tony froze, turning to see Pepper had just stepped into the workshop, a folder in her hand.
Tony, wearing one nanotech gauntlet and both boots, was hovering near the ceiling. Peter dangled upside down from his leg currently clutched in Tony’s gauntlet, the web-shooter confiscated in Tony’s other hand.
“Um. This still isn’t the worst thing you’ve caught me doing.”
“Is that a baby?”
⎊⎊⎊
After they’d spent some time figuring things out, Tony took Peter to the park.
It was a sunny afternoon. The kid was nestled into one of Morgan’s older strollers and Tony was dressed discreetly: hoodie, hat and a pair of less flashy (but no less teched out) sunglasses. Peter was holding an Iron Man plush (Tony had offered him a Spider-man one and Peter had pointed at this one instead. Tony had had to hide his face for a minute after that.) and wiggling his feet as Tony rolled him along.
Peter plucked a flower from a bush as they passed. He held it close to his face to examine it. It was still strange being so small again. His own fingers were tiny, the petals looked huge cupped in his hand. Suddenly a bee perched on his flower. He watched it work through the pollen, fascinated, until it flew off again. He watched it go.
“Mind if we stop a bit?” Tony rolled Peter up to a bench in front of a fountain. Peter poked at the band on his wrist. The word ‘okay’ appeared on the display of Tony’s sunglasses, so he took a seat on the bench.
There were ducks floating in the fountain, pigeons on the paths, little sparrows, too. People passed by walking, jogging, biking. There were dogs of all shapes and sizes.
A droplet symbol appeared on Tony’s glasses and he immediately grabbed the cup from the holder in the stroller handle and placed it in the holder next to Peter. The kid signed his thanks and grabbed the cup to drink.
“Oh, what an angel!”
Tony glanced toward the woman who was settling on the other end of the bench, a stroller and (sleeping) baby of her own parked beside her.
“He sure is.” Tony said with a bit of a smirk. Peter was a good kid, but he was also a little gremlin who’d given him the runaround for the better part of the morning. The woman gleaned none of his tone.
“How old is he?”
“Oh, 15,” Tony met Peter’s eyes, “months.” The kid’s eye twitched. He poked at his wristband. ‘16*’ appeared on Tony’s glasses. Tony grinned.
The woman cooed. “This one here is almost two years. Is he your first?”
“Second. I have a little girl, too.” Tony said warmly.
The woman’s gushy answer was interrupted by her baby waking up and fussing. Attention immediately drawn, she fawned over them and set them up with a bottle of formula. In the meantime, Peter asked for a snack via his bracelet, a fish symbol appearing on Tony’s glasses. Tony pulled out a container, unscrewed the lid and set it in front of the kid, who happily munched on the goldfish crackers with his few teeth.
Once her baby settled, the woman glanced back over. She'd been about to speak but stopped as she did a double take at Peter. The baby was easily popping crackers into his mouth, distinctly making no mess while her own baby– ‘older’ than him– was already drooling milk on themself.
Peter returned the woman’s stare, making eye contact for several seconds. Without looking away he pushed the empty container toward Tony. As Tony took it back, Peter turned to sign his thanks, and Tony mirrored it with a soft smile. The woman gaped.
Peter sent a pedestrian walking symbol to Tony’s glasses.
Tony smiled casually at the woman’s flabbergasted expression, “Yeah, my little genius, this one. Well, time for us to get going.”
The woman watched them go. She saw them pause for a moment in front of a busker playing violin. She watched as the child dropped a flower into the violin case and the father chuckled and tossed in a few bills.
She shook her head, bafflement giving way to a small smile as she dabbed at her own little angel’s chin.
⎊⎊⎊
Peter crashed hard after their outing, accelerated metabolism and tiny body catching up to him. Minutes after Tony got some more substantial, but very mushy, food into him he all but passed out.
Tony brought him to his room in the tower and settled him carefully into his bed. He spent a good twenty minutes rigging a railing system that would activate if Peter got close to the edge of the relatively huge bed, and set FRIDAY to monitoring.
With one last fond look at his tiny spiderling, sleeping soundly, Tony gently shut the door.
⎊⎊⎊
When Peter wakes up he doesn't know where he is. Dark and unfamiliar shapes, covered in inky blackness, loom over him. His body feels strange. His heart feels like it's hammering faster than it should be, even stressed, and with his heightened hearing it's the loudest thing in the room.
He knows he should be somewhere in the tower, that's what would make sense, and so he calls for FRIDAY. Except his mouth doesn't move right, tongue twisting and lips lagging, so the sound he produces is more a mangled groan than a word. It's wrong. He must have been drugged. He must be having a stroke.
He cries out, and the fact that the sound he emits is that of a crying baby only adds to his upset.
Suddenly, warm light pours over him as a door opens. He recognizes Tony as soon as he enters, his bare footsteps urgent but soft on the carpet. The mere sight of him is a relief to Peter, though remnants of his distress still linger.
Tony picks him right up and pulls him against his chest where Peter immediately clings to his black tank top. A kiss is pressed to the top of Peter's head and everything about the man's presence is a comfort. Tony's arms, strong, huge, wrap gently and completely around him, all-encompassing. He's warm and he smells familiar. Ear to Tony's chest, Peter hears his voice hum soothing all around him, his heart beating calm and steady.
Peter is so relaxed he barely notices when Tony shifts to sit and then to lie down in Peter's bed, the kid still glued to his chest. Tony's hand cradles the boy's head, running through the feather soft hair there as they both drift to sleep.

part one
5 times it wasn’t a hug and the 1 time it was - parkrstark T, 31k
Summary: 5 times it wasn’t a hug and the one time it was.
Or…
The one where Tony has a habit of not-really-but-kinda-sorta hugging Peter and finally gets it right when it matters the most.
All The Leaves Are Brown (And the sky is gray) - AvocadoLove steve/bucky, pepper/tony T, 17k
Summary: The Winter Soldier’s mission is nearly complete. Howard and Maria Stark are dead, leaving him to dispatch their four-year-old child. One quick twist of the neck is all it will take, but the Soldier finds he cannot do it.
So instead of killing Tony Stark, the Winter Soldier takes him away to raise as his own.
A Parent Apparent (ao3) - happyaspie pepper/tony T, 528k
Summary: In which the author indulges herself in some shameless Irondad/Spiderson with fluff, angst and everything in between because she needs more of that in her life.
OR
Just another one of those, oh so overdone, fanfics where Tony and Peter’s relationship grows into more of a father/son relationship after an accident involving Aunt May (who lives)
Changing Fate (ao3) - Wix bucky/tony, loki/tony T, 27k
Summary: Tony dies in Siberia under the hands of Captain America, but fate doesn’t leave it there. He opens his eyes several years earlier amidst the threat of Loki’s invasion and the first assembling of the ‘Avengers’. Tony may not understand why he got this second chance, but he’s going to do better with it - and he’s decided that he’s going to share it. With a Winter Soldier who could really use a different hand than he was dealt.
Never let it be said that fate doesn’t have a sense of humor.
Clint Barton’s Super Secret Snipers’ Club (ao3) - sara_holmes clint/bucky, steve/tony T, 67k
Summary: Clint Barton’s Super Secret Snipers’ Club. (Invitation and pending mental health evaluation required.)
“When Steve brings Bucky back to the tower for the first time, Clint’s first thought is that Tony Stark’s pride and joy is quickly becoming a less of a very tall and expensive ‘fuck you’ in the faces of investors who don’t believe in self-sustaining energy, and more of a superhero rehabilitation center.”
Boyfriends, compromises and learning to like oneself.
Detonation Imminent (ao3) - KairosImprimatur pepper/tony, clint/natasha T, 61k
Summary: Peter and Rocket decide it’s a good idea to snoop around Stark Tower before introducing themselves. Clearly there’s no way this could go awry.
Endgame (ao3) - YunaYamiMouto tony/stephen T, 196k
Summary: The rouge Avengers are pardoned under the influence of King T'Challa and it is up to Tony to 'welcome’ them back. But as he and his new team are at the private airport, an unexpected fight breaks loose and the fate of the whole universe is changed when a wizard places himself as Tony Stark’s protector.
It’s a Secret to Everybody (ao3) - Snapdragon_in_the_Snow pepper/tony T, 97k
Summary: “I have kids,“ Clint said. Turns out you’ve had one longer than me!” ——- Peter gets to spend all summer living in Avengers Tower with Tony. When the Rogue Avengers get pardoned and come back to live at the Tower too, they’re confused as to who Peter is. However, once they see how Tony acts around Peter, that confusion goes away, as they know for certain who Peter must be - Tony’s secret son. Tony and Peter decide to make the most of the situation, and play along. They hope they can keep up the act all summer. But they soon learn that they barely have to act at all.
Language (ao3) - SailorChibi steve/tony, clint/phil T, 30k
Summary: This is how Tony fixed the team and the damage he’d done, and in the process learned how to start fixing himself. Well, maybe the latter might take a little help from Steve.
Making The Best Of It (ao3) - dentalfloss clint/phil T, 33k
Summary: “He’s not telling us everything,” Fury reached out and shut the projection off, “I’m not comfortable with this.” Coulson didn’t respond, didn’t need to. “Let Rogers know I want Barton watched; he doesn’t go anywhere alone until we understand exactly what’s going on. I’m not losing him to some egotistical mind-f***ing blade-dancer who has mentor issues and wants to take it out on our asset.”
Phil nodded efficiently. He couldn’t agree more.
maybe we can’t be okay (but maybe we’ll try anyway) (ao3) - impravidus, notapartytrick steve/bucky, pepper/tony T, 68k
Summary: The Avengers thought it would be a simple mission. Kill the giant, sixty foot worm monsters, head home and maybe take an hour long shower to get the worm guts off. Oh, Hey There, Mister Blue (ao3) - iguessyouregonnamissthepantyraid T, 75k
Summary: There are certain things one learns to expect when dealing with the Mad Titan. Ending up on an unfamiliar ship surrounded by a bunch of aliens is one thing. Loki can handle that.
Ending up on an unfamiliar ship surrounded by a bunch of aliens who are actually on his side is quite another.
Oh, My King for a Kingdom (ao3) - STARSdidathing loki/tony T, 14k
Summary: The blood and betrayal of an Afghanistan cave formed Iron Man. The blood and betrayal of a Siberian bunker formed something else.
peter’s stars (ao3) - IronPengu, parkrstark steve/tony T, 175k
Summary: Steve and Peter lose their apartment and are kicked out on the streets. Steve has to juggle between jobs to earn whatever money he can, take care of his son while resfusing to let him realize how much they’re trouble in, and keep them warm and safe on the city streets in winter.
So, he really doesn’t have time to date the billionaire that flirts with him everyday as he buys his cup of coffee. Even if he did, he can’t let himself fall for the man. Because if he knew that he lived from a backpack and showered in a public bathroom there’s no way he’d still want him…right?
The Puzzle that is Peter Parker (ao3) - Neuropsyche pepper/tony T, 279k

Z to A (ao3) - memoriaeterna wanda/vision, pepper/tony T, 88k

Jailbroken Hearts Finale
Summary: some bits and pieces into Peter’s last eleven months in prison, and then a sort of epilogue.
Warnings: mentions of past abuse, rape, death, and murder. Also actual murder and death, blood, very mild because in Tony’s mind death is kinda boring at this point.
Notes: So all of the other parts were on my Tumblr that got deleted so I don’t have the link to them but here is ao3! This is one of those fics where the story was so hyped and so well received that I was scared of making the ending for fear of it being disappointing. But here it is!
As always, this can either be read as irondad/spiderson, or non-sexual starker. Completely up to you.
~~~
Peter feels a lot closer to Tony, after that night. The vulnerability and honesty is something he knows no one else has ever seen, not even Rhodey.
It’s a few weeks later, and the gang is hanging out at the usual table for breakfast. Clint yawns and takes a sip of his coffee, rubbing his eyes. “Who the hell was making all that noise last night?”
Steve smirks and laughs softly. “Guy named Quill, he got into it with a guard yesterday. Earned himself a beat down.”
Clint huffs in annoyance. “He needs to learn how to bite his tongue, or next time it’ll be two best downs.”
“New shipment in today,” Tony says, not listening to the gang. “I’ll bet everything I own Bucky is in this one.”
Steve perks up at that, starting to bounce his leg. “You really think so?”
Rhodey nods, taking a bite of his breakfast. “Yeah, he was sent to jail after the trial a week ago. Should be in this shipment.”
Steve looks like he’s on cloud nine, and Peter feels sort of floaty. This is his first time meeting new people as someone who’s been here a while. “I can’t wait to see him. You aren’t getting any sleep tonight either, Clint.”
Clint groans in annoyance, sipping more coffee. “You suck.”
“Yeah I do,” Steve teases with a wink, which makes Clint pretend to gag.
Rhodey looks up from his own breakfast, seeing people starting to file out early. “Show time.”
Tony closes his paper, looking around as well. “Alright. Clint, go scout. Come on Peter, let’s get you a good spot to look.”
Peter nods and stands up, stretching a bit. “Will Cap be with us?”
“Yep,” Steve says, following. Rhodey is taking over my usually position so I can watch him come in. Let’s go.”
They make their way to the best viewing spot, listening to people talk, speculate, and make bets. It takes a while for the new inmates to come, but the doors finally open the shouting starts.
Peter hides in Tony’s arms, feeling nervous with all the screaming and stomping. Tony merely shushes him, holding him close and glaring at the closest inmates.
Finally they start walking through, and Steve starts to yell once the third person comes through. “Bucky!” he yells, waving his arms.
Bucky looks up, searching the crowd until he finds Steve. A smirk graces his face, and he blows Steve a kiss.
Tony watches them file in, face expressionless. Peter goes back and forth between watching Tony’s face and the new inmates filing in.
Suddenly a man taps on Tony’s shoulder, and Peter feels his heart rate pick up. Tony turns to him, raising a brow.
“Mr. Stark,” the inmate asks, nodding politely. “That new one down there, the one with red hair and a long beard?” Tony narrows his eyes, but nods slowly. “I have a request.”
Tony huffs. “Get on with it.”
The man nods again, shifting his weight. “I know that rapists are usually your thing, but he...that man raped my daughter. I’m in here because I tried to kill him out there. He’s been in the hospital since I tried it, but obviously he’s good enough to get in here. My request is that I can finish the job myself.”
Tony looks down at the man, watching him. “You can have one chance. If he’s alive tomorrow still, I won’t give you a second try. Understood?”
The inmate nods, thanking Tony and stalking out of the entry hall.
“That was nice of you,” Peter manages to quake out. Talking about pre-planned murder still scares him.
Tony hums, pulling Peter closer to him and watching the inmates file in. “I know. You’ve made me soft,” he accuses in a whisper.
Peter giggles, starting to relax a bit. The new inmates are marched off to closed off rooms, where they will spend the rest of the day getting cleaned, getting new clothes, and being walked through the rules of the prison.
“Come on,” Steve says to them, nodding his head in the other direction. “Let’s go kill time while we wait.
After killing the entire day doing mostly nothing, they’re finally forced back into their cells for the night. Steve and Bucky share a cell, and they do, in fact, keep the entire prison up all night with their reunion.
They were so loud, that the guards didn’t notice the screams of pain and fear coming from the red-haired new inmate’s cell.
~
Peter bounces excitedly next to Tony, ignoring the looks he gets from Bucky. Bucky is nice and all, but he has very little patience.
“Okay kid, what the hell is wrong with you?” Bucky finally asks.
Tony glares at Bucky, and Steve elbows his lover. “Never do that again,” Steve hisses under his breath.
Peter doesn’t let it bother him though. “It’s visitation day,” he says happily. “And Tony agreed to meet May with me today.”
Rhodey groans in annoyance. “I can’t convince you to meet Pepper in years, but two months with Peter and you cave to meet his aunt?”
Tony glares at Rhodey over Peter’s head. “His aunt doesn’t want to bring my family up to me, or give me anything.”
Rhodey tsks and rolls his eyes. “She gives you things anyway, you know.”
“I’ll never see it, doesn’t matter.” Tony shrugs again.
“My kids are coming,” Clint says to change the subject. “Finally.”
Bucky hums and gives Steve a look. “You don’t have any visitors this month.”
“I have a visitor that never leaves,” Steve corrects, kissing Bucky softly on the lips.
“Let’s go ladies,” the guard calls. “Cells or visiting area, you know the drill.”
Peter beams and grabs Tony’s hand, rushing them to the visiting areas. Tony doesn’t usually walk that fast, but he only grumbles his complaints instead of stopping Peter.
“Parker,” a guard calls. “Visitor.”
Peter happily goes to the assigned room, and squeals when he sees May. “May!” he calls, sitting and pulling the phone to his face.
“Hi...who’s that?” May asks, pointing to Tony. Tony waves at her, and Peter moves the phone so they can both hear.
“This is Tony Stark,” Peter says, leaning into the older man. “He’s my cellmate. He takes care of me and stuff.”
“I just-” Tony looks down at the phone. He’s never used one of these before. “I just make sure other inmates don’t give him sh-any problems.”
May narrows her eyes at him, pursing his lips. “Ahuh. Peter listen, I’m working on saving up extra money-”
“No, May. It’s isn’t worth it. I can’t go to college anymore.”
“You will go to college!” May yells, getting emotional. “You’re too smart not to.”
Tony lights up at this. “You can’t afford college?” he asks. “I have money.”
May narrows her eyes at him. “I don’t want illegal money.”
“It’s legal,” Tony says, fighting the urge to roll his eyes. “Inheritance. Plus, my parents’ company is in my name, even if I can’t run it. You ever heard of Stark Industries?”
May suddenly pales, putting her hand on the glass. “You’re the Tony Stark that brutally murdered his father.”
“That isn’t the whole story, May. You only know what the media says-”
“I saw the video!” She yells, looking over her shoulder. “You-”
“May!” Peter yells, upset. “He’s not a cold-blooded murderer. Am I a murderer?”
May scoffs and shakes her head. “That was different.”
“It’s not.” Peter says. “It isn’t different. You have to trust me on this. I trust Tony, and you trust me. Right?” May is still for a long time, but the guard reminds her she doesn’t have much longer, and she finally nods. “Then trust him.”
May purses her lips. “Why would you give me money?” she asks Tony.
“I don’t have any use for it, and I like your nephew.” Tony shrugs, looking at Peter. “I’ll gladly give it all to you, honestly. I’m not planning on leaving here, and it’s better with you than rotting in a useless bank account.”
May looks on the verge of tears. “How can you trust him?”
Peter smiles at Tony leaning into him a bit more before looking back at May. “It’s not my place to tell you. But I do.”
May stands, still holding the phone. “I’ll be back next month. I want a better explanation than this time. I love you Peter, I’ll see you soon.”
“I love you too, May.”
~
Peter jumps as Bucky slams his fist on the table, effectively cutting off Clint’s lecture. “I god damn know how to be quiet, asshole, I was a sniper before I was an assassin. Teach me the layout of the vents and which guards take bribes, skip the basics.”
Steve chuckles softly, rubbing soothing circles into Bucky’s thigh.
Clint huffs in annoyance. “I’m not doubting your experience, I was just saying...” he rolls his eyes and starts grumbling to himself.
Tony turns the page in his paper, taking a sip of his coffee. “Learn to take orders when given by higher ups Barnes, or this won’t work out.”
Peter notices Steve stiffen, even though Bucky merely scoffs. “Bird brains here isn’t a higher up, boss. He’s the guy I’m replacing.”
“Watch your mouth before I watch it for you,” Clint grunts, hands tightening into fists. He’s still pissed at how often Bucky’s arrival keeps the whole prison up.
“Cool it, Clint,” Steve warns, straightening up and squaring his shoulders.
“You’re gonna lengthen your sentence if you fight, Mr. Clint sir,” Peter pipes up, face pink from the anxiety.
The two assassins stare each other down for a minute more, before Clint scoffs and stands up, pushing his tray towards Peter. “Here kid, I’m not hungry anymore.”
Peter watches him storm off before turning his gaze to pout at Bucky. “You know, you don’t have to mean. We’re on the same team here.”
Bucky snorts, rolling his eyes and planting a hand on the table. “We aren’t shit, pipsqueak. You can’t-” he cuts off with a hiss as a knife suddenly finds its way in between his middle and ring fingers.
“If you can’t learn your fucking place, Barnes, your place will be six feet under. Do I make myself crystal clear?” Tony’s paper rests on the table beside him, his hand gripping the handle of the knife tightly.
“He was just joking around, Tones, it’s okay. He won’t say another words about Peter. Right baby?” Steve says, one hand on Bucky’s chest to keep him back and his tone sharp.
Bucky is silent for a few seconds as he stares Tony down, jaw set angrily. Eventually, he slowly removes his hand from the table and nods once. “Right.”
Tony sniffs in indifference, hiding the knife back up his sleeve and grabbing his coffee again. “You said he wouldn’t cause problems, Cap.”
“He won’t anymore,” Steve says, a sharp edge to his voice as he side-eyes Bucky. “I’ll make sure of it.”
“Good,” Tony says, opening his paper again. “Finding one replacement is hard enough, I’d hate to have to find two.”
“Understood, boss,” Steve says lowly, standing up. “Buck, a word,” he says with air of finality, walking away without waiting for his lover.
Bucky doesn't keep him waiting long, glaring daggers into Tony’s forehead before following silently.
Peter sniffles once, leaning into Tony. “I’m sorry I’m causing problems.”
Rhodey laughs softly, the first noise he’s made this entire time. “Oh kid, you aren’t causing problems. Robo-cop is.”
Tony nods in agreement, pushing Clint’s tray towards Peter. “He’s right. Eat.”
Peter sighs sadly but obeys, starting with Clint’s roll.
~
Peter beams at May through the glass, picking up the phone and waving. “Heya May! How have you been?”
May is frowning, looking at Peter with suspicion. “The day after our last visit, ten million dollars appeared in my bank account.”
Peter gasps, feeling light headed. “Oh my god, that’s more than we could ever-”
“Where the hell did he get this money from? How did he get it to if he can’t access the accounts in his name?”
Peter sighs, feeling slightly frustrated. “Pepper Potts is the CEO of SI right now, she took over a few years ago. Tony signed papers to give her access to his accounts, so she sends him money from the business because she feels like she owes him. It’s all his money, all legally obtained, and all legally given to you.”
May shakes her head in disbelief. “What did you do, Peter?! What did you do to convince him to give you this money?”
Peter smiles sadly. “You don’t want to know, May. I didn’t do anything against my morals, don’t worry.”
“You can’t sleep with a murderer, Peter,” May hisses into the phone, tears in her eyes.
“It isn’t like that,” Peter promises, sighing. “Honestly May, it isn’t. We don’t want to sleep together. I mean, we share a cell, but that’s--that’s innocent. You could be there and I wouldn’t be embarrassed, I swear.” May shakes her head, lips tightening into a grimace. “Then what did you do?”
“You don’t need to know, and you don’t want to know. I didn’t do anything bad, nothing illegal. He just likes me, May. You don’t have to worry about the money. Get us a nice house, get a new car, get other things you’ve been wanting. The money is good and you don’t need to feel bad about having it.”
May sighs in disbelief, but decides that Peter wouldn’t lie to her. “Fine. God, I can’t wait to get you out of there and give you a giant hug.”
Peter grins, leaning back into his chair. “Me too, May.”
~
Tony sighs, rubbing tiredly at his eyes. “Only six more months with you, Pete. I only have six more months. Do we really have to talk about this now?”
Peter pouts, crossing his arms over his chest. “I’m gonna visit you all the time Tony, don’t say it’s only six months.”
Tony grunts. “It’s basically six months. You’ll visit once a month for a while, and then you’ll forget all about me.”
Peter makes a wounded noise, wrapping his arms around Tony’s torso and hugging him tightly. “Don’t say that. I love you, I’m not just going to forget you.”
Tony rolls his eyes, but hugs Peter back. “You will. What use do you have for an old, lonely, felon locked away fro the rest of his life?”
Peter hugs harder, shaking his head. “It doesn’t matter what use you are, first of all. Love doesn’t mean need.”
“You have your aunt May.”
“That doesn’t mean if I have her I suddenly don’t have you.” He pulls back, looking up at Tony with teary eyes. “I won’t ever forget about you. Not ever. You’re stuck with me until the end of time, okay?”
Tony grins down at Peter fondly, ruffling his hair. “Okay.” He agrees eventually.
Peter gives him a small smile in return and kisses Tony’s cheek, pulling away finally and wiping his eyes. “So...what do you think then?”
Tony sighs. “I don’t want you to appeal, if I’m being honest. Even if you plan on visiting me forever, I still don’t want you to go. I know it’s selfish, but that’s what I think.”
Peter node sadly and kisses Tony’s chin before going back to their bed. “Then I’ll tell May to be patient. End of discussion.”
“no, wait....” Tony sighs and follows the boy. “You asked what I thought about it, not what you should do. You should get out of here, go live your life. Go to college and get a house and so on.”
“I can wait,” Peter says. Then he shuts his eyes and pretends to be asleep.
Tony only sighs loudly and crawls into bed as well, kissing Peter’s hair before he settles down. “Little shit,” he accuses, which makes the ‘sleeping’ boy grin cheekily.
~
Peter hums as he looks at the houses in front of him, going back and forth between the images. “Hmmm...I like the one on the right, it’s beautiful.”
May nods, turning the picture to look at it herself. “I agree...but Peter, do we really need a house this big? It’s just the two of us, and when you move out it’ll be just me...”
Peter grins, a grin May knows very well means Peter is planning something May wouldn’t approve of. “It’s the perfect size, May. And this one is for me, I want you to have your own house.”
“Peter!” May gasps, eyes wide. “What do you mean this is just for you? Why on earth would you need a house this big by yourself?”
“And I think you should hire a maid and a chef in your house too, you know, you always do everything. You deserve to be taken care of for once.”
May shakes her head, leaning back in her chair. “How much money are you planning to give me here, kid? These types of things are expensive, and-”
“As much as you need, May. Tony is a billionaire, and he got together with Pepper last week in order to make me his official heir. All of his money is mine when I get out of here, and he’s a billionaire. We wouldn’t be able to spend all his money in a hundred lifetimes.”
“Peter...” May has tears in her eyes. “Why would he-”
“He loves me. And you love me. He wants both of us to be happy.”
May sniffles, dabbing at her eyes. “Well then...I better start researching how to be rich, I guess.”
Peter smiles, a genuine smile, one that reaches his eyes. “Tony says all his mother ever did was host charity galas and manage their public image. We don’t have a public image, so I guess you better start learning how to throw charity galas.”
May smiles sadly at him, nodding. “My first one is going to be a fundraiser for the public defenders’ office. That way no other innocent little kids get thrown in jail unjustly.”
Peter beams at her, tapping his knuckles against the counter. “Sounds great, May.”
~
Peter wakes up giggling, scrunching his nose as he feels the kisses against his eyelids. “Tones?”
Tony chuckles deeply, pulling back and letting the boy sit up. “Morning sleepy-head. How did you sleep?”
Peter yawns and stretches, looking around the cell. ‘Good. What’s going on, the lights are still out?”
Tony smiles, shifting on the bed and pulling a small box out from behind his back. “Happy birthday, kid. It’s midnight.”
Peter gasps, taking the box. “What? How did you-where did you- wait, how did you know it was my birthday?”
Tony smirks, leaning back on an elbow. “I know everything. Open it.”
Peter laughs softly at the bossy nature, opening it quickly. He gasps when he sees it, taking it out of the box and looking between the gift and Tony in surprise. “I...what...I...”
“You’re almost out of here, kid, and it got me thinking...I don’t want to only see you once a month. I...I can’t see you only once a month. So I talked to Pepper, had her design team create something for me. So this is a prototype.”
Peter feels tears in his eyes, looking up at Tony’s face. “So this...this will...what does it do?”
“Once it’s working correctly, yes. You put it on the floor, turn it on, and wait. Once it’s on, it’ll start to vibrate the other one, so we’ll know the other wants to talk. Then once they’re both on, we’ll see each other very clearly.” Tony smiles and takes Peter’s hand. “It isn’t perfect or anything, but hopefully it’ll let me see you more than once a month. Maybe even once a day.”
Peter hurls himself into Tony’s lap, hugging him tightly and crying into his shoulder. Tony wraps his arms around Peter, hiding his face in Peter’s hair. “Oh, Tony! Thank you, thank you!”
Tony smiles into Peter’s hair sadly, kissing where he can. “Of course, kiddo. Anything for you.”
~
Rhodey sighs, slamming his cards on the table. “I liked Clint way better than you, soldier, he sucked at poker.”
Bucky grins, pulling his winnings closer to him. “My secret is I always look like I want to murder you. You can’t tell what’s in my hand anymore than you could against a computer.”
Steve chuckles, grabbing the cards and starting to shuffle them. “Clint had no poker face, I don’t know how he works with Nat without annoying her to death.”
Peter giggles at the image of Natasha and Clint on a mission, with Natasha being stone faced and cool while Clint is annoying her with faces of concentration and effort.
“Stop talking about me like I’m gone,” Clint sighs in annoyance. “I still have a minimum of nine months in here.”
“Did you hear that? I swear, I just heard Barton’s voice,” Steve chimes in, starting to deal for the next round.
Peter giggles again, leaning into Tony and grabbing his cards. “You think you’ll make it to the graduation?”
“Oh yeah,” Clint says, smiling as he rearranges his cards. He ignores as Rhodey groans loudly and folds his cards before they start even playing because of his obvious smugness. “I bribed the warden to give me a recommendation for parole, I’m not spending another two years in here.”
Peter turns to look at Tony, eyes sparkling. The older man doesn’t know what the look is for, and at this point, he knows better than to ask.
~
Peter sits down happily and starts to bounce his leg, grinning at his stablemates. “Morning!”
“Ah,” Clint grunts, rubbing his head. “Shhh, it’s too early.”
Steve laughs softly. “You’re just pissed several inmates got lucky last night.”
“I’m pissed because everyone decided sleep isn’t important anymore.”
Tony takes that moment to sit next to Peter, putting one tray of food in front of himself and one in front of Peter. “Well stop being pissed, today is not your day to be pissed.”
Clint makes a confused sound, before he suddenly straightens up and smiles at Peter. “Hey, today is the day you’re free! Shit, I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since you got here.”
Tony grunts, aggressively opening his paper.
Peter ignores him, nodding at Clint. “They’re taking me out front at noon, May is picking me up. I get to go home!”
Rhodey pats Peter on the shoulder in a friendly manner. “Congrats man, make sure you come back to visit us.”
“Every month,” Peter promises, surprising the group. They thought Peter would want to forget about his time in prison as soon as possible. “C’mon, I wanna play one more game of go-fish before I have to go.”
“I’m really gonna miss you, kid,” Steve says, a sad smile on his face. “I don’t think anyone else in the world could have convinced a bunch of murderers to play go-fish over poker.”
Bucky hums, pulling out his cards. “You made me like you in less than six months, that’s a record for me for sure.”
Rhodey nods, taking the cards and starting to deal. “Yeah kid, we’ll all miss you.”
Peter blushes a bit but he can’t stop smiling. He’s finally going to get to hug Aunt May again!
~~~
Peter runs to the phone as soon as they let him, picking it up with a big smile. “Tony!”
Tony chuckles, the same sad glint in his eyes he always has. It’s been a year since Peter was released, and a lot has happened since then. Clint was released and he’s back at it with Natasha and his family. Rhodey gave pepper a design that was so successful she's only allowed to sell it to the United States military. Steve and Bucky have gotten along perfectly, making the prison business they have going even more successful. Peter has started college, Ivy League, majoring in robotics engineering.
According to Tony, not much has happened with him. But, according to Peter, this year has been very eventful for Tony.
Without telling Tony, Peter has been working very hard to get Tony out. He wasn’t able to completely free Tony, of course, but with the money he got from Tony has come in very handy. He blew through an entire half a billion dollars, but he eventually got something close to what he wanted.
“Peter? You okay there?”
Peter nods quickly, literally bouncing in excitement. “I have the best news ever, Tony.”
The older man grins, but he still has that sad look in his eyes. “I told you kid, getting an A is not the best news ever. It’s expected from someone as smart as you are.”
Peter giggles but shakes his head. “No, it isn’t that. Tony, I got you out.”
Tony literally drops the phone, and has to scramble to grab it again. “What the fuck are you talking about?”
Peter beams and shows Tony some paperwork. “All you have to do is sign, and you’ll be out of here. You’ll be under house arrest, with a very nice man checking in on us once every day and once every night. You’ll have an ankle tracker on, and you won’t be allowed to leave the house. But you’ll be living with me, and you’ll be out of prison, and you'll see me every day! And not just that wonderful hologram you invented; I can hug you and hold your hand and...and...” Peter’s smile falters and he his voice trails off. “Tony?”
Tony is staring at Peter with a blank expression, holding the phone so tightly his knuckles are white.
Peter stutters a little, feeling like his heart dropped into his stomach. “I-I mean, you don’t have to sign it. You don’t-you don’t have to come live with me. I mean, I just--I thought you would like to...I thought, I mean you said you missed me and you didn’t want to not see me, so I just thought you...” Peter feels tears start to form in his eyes. “Never-never mind, I thought you--no, I mean, obviously you want to stay in there. You said that, I should have--I overst- I-I should go, actually, I have to visit, um, Rhodey, because he um, he-”
“Peter Benjamin Parker.” Tony interrupts, and it startles Peter into silence. “You spent the entire last year planning on how to get me out of my prison behind my back?”
Peter’s lower lip trembles, and he nods once. “I’m sorry, I thought you might be happy.”
Tony lets out a shaky breath, and Peter is surprised to see tears in his eyes for only the second time in Tony’s adult life. “Nobody in my entire life has ever cared so much about me that they-” his voice breaks, and he starts to shake his head. He slams the phone onto the receiver and goes away from where Peter can see.
Peter feels the tears start to fall down his cheek and he gently hangs up his own phone. He sniffles sadly, grabbing the papers and standing up. He’s about to throw them in the trash when a door suddenly bursts open, startling the boy.
Tony is suddenly there, eyes wet and arms open wide. Peter doesn’t really understand what’s happening until Tony’s arms are around him. “Take me home.”
Peter’s eyes widen into the hug, whimpering softly. “You...you do want to come live with me?”
Tony nods, pulling back and looking at Peter with so much emotion and awe that Peter is overwhelmed. “Peter...” Tony takes a step back, obviously trying to gather himself. “When I first got into prison, I thought I wasn’t ever going to get out. And honestly, I wanted that. I wanted to grow old here, die here, die knowing that I took out as many child rapists as I could. Knowing I made the world a better place, one scum removal at a time.
“But you...you came into my life and I...I just...Something changed in me. I wasn’t burning all the time, I wasn’t dying anymore. I wasn’t staying alive so that I could do my duty; no, when you moved into my cell, I realized I was staying alive so I could see you every day. So I could protect you, and spend time with you and talk to you. And once you were freed, it just made it even more obvious to me that...that I don’t want my old life anymore. The only thing I want is to stay with you, and have you in my life.”
Peter feels so overwhelmed with the confession, he simply hugs Tony and tightly as he can and refuses to let go. “Tony...Come on. Let’s go. Let’s go home.”

Happy FFWF! What are you working on right now? Is there a snippet you'd like to share?
I'm actually working on an IronDad/ SpiderSon long fic right now. I have, however, fallen into the 'over-editing as I go' trap so it's taking waaaaay longer than I'd like it to.
It's a twist on Civil War with an abusive May finding out about Spider-Man the night before Tony Stark approaches Peter for help with the Rogues-- with a hint of forever-evil Thaddeus Ross already having Spider-Man on his radar for kicks and giggles.
Yes, I know that not everyone loves that particular trope, but c'est la vie. I'm about 40,000 words in and I'm not changing it now!
Here's a snippet from the first chapter:
“... Now, am I correct in assuming you are that spider character we see on the news?"
He nodded again then croaked out nervously, “Yes, ma’am. I’m Spider-Man.”
May didn’t bother to contain the sneer. “’Man?’ Really?”
Peter’s cheeks flushed in embarrassment. “Yes—“ he finally cleared his throat, “yes, ma’am. Spider-Man.”
She stood there, not saying a word for far too long. Peter’s stomach twisted as he anticipated her next words.
“How long?”
His brows furrowed. “How long have I been Spider-Man?”
May didn’t bother replying, only glared.
Could he get any redder? “Oh, right... sorry.”
Was she looking even angrier?
Peter thought for a minute, not sure where to start, then finally deciding on how to answer, “You remember that time you worked late and when you got home, I was icing my ankle ‘cuz I’d twisted it? We ended up watching the 10 o’clock news with that reporter with the weird hair and he was interviewing that old lady about the newest neighbourhood vigilante and that purse snatcher he’d caught?”
May nodded tersely. “I remember. That was only few months ago... I told you that he looked like a wannabe power ranger or something.” She sniffed, almost in disgust. “So—I’m gathering that you didn’t hurt yourself walking home from school that day then?”
Peter shook his head ‘no’ in reply; more ready to share enough to keep Aunt May satisfied now that he’d messed up so epically. “No, I tripped over a stray cat in one of the alleyways over on Highland while I was changing back into my street clothes, but um, yah. That was literally my, uh, first evening out while wearing the whole,” Peter gestured down to the hoodie and sweats he was still outfitted in, “thing, so yah... since around then, I guess?”
May ruminated on that for far too long—only seconds—when she asked another question. “So did you just wake up that morning and ‘boom,’ you were this sticky superhuman who decided to become a vigilante? I mean honestly, Peter? What the hell happened? And what does ‘around then’ mean?’” May was building up to a full on holler now.
So Peter fell silent, again.
May inhaled deeply, seemingly trying to rein in her temper before continuing, quieter than before. “I can’t look at you while you’re wearing that. Change into some real clothes and meet me in the living room. And I swear to God, Peter, do NOT make me wait.” Peter knew from her tone not to argue so he stayed silent. “We’ll figure out what we’re going to do about all the rest,” She waved her hand in his general direction, “when you look less ridiculous.”
Peter flushed again with embarrassment at the insult but nodded obediently as his aunt turned to leave the room, unexpectedly slamming the door behind her.
Heart leaping into his throat, Peter rushed to pull off the telltale hoodie and sweats then fumbled, almost face planting, as he pulled on his jeans while grabbing what he hoped was a clean shirt off the back of his desk chair.
“Crap, crap, crap,” he mumbled to himself. He hadn’t planned for this... had been so sure he’d be able to keep it from Aunt May forever.
Peter Parker was officially a dumbass for ever thinking he’d get anything past her.
I'm hoping to actually complete it and start posting it by the summer. *fingers crossed*

You Will Be Found
by from-saturn-to-mars on ao3
Peter gets hurt, and he doesn't think anyone will help him. Irondad and Spiderson fluff ensues.
Skittles or M&Ms. M&Ms or Skittles.
Peter glances back and forth, trying to make a choice.
“What do you think?” He asks MJ. She rolls her eyes. He dragged her to the store to get stuff for May, but she hasn't exactly been helpful so far.
“Chocolate is better,” She finally says. Peter grabs the M&Ms.
“Can I go now? My photography class is soon,” She reminds him for the third time.
“Fine, go. Thank you for the help,”
“Whatever, nerd,”
Peter swears he sees her smile a bit before she walks out of the store.
***
Peter has everything ready.
May’s favorite snacks cover their table, her favorite movie is all cued up, and he brought all the pillows and blankets into the living room. May has been so busy lately, and today was her first night off in two weeks, so Peter is determined to get it all perfect.
Her job as a nurse is so stressful for her. She helps so many people every day, and Peter is so proud of her, but he wishes she didn't have to work so much. They barely see each other, and all so they can scrape their rent.
Peter decides to get ahead on school work while he waits for her to get home. Once he’s struggled through his English essay and half-assed his language homework, he scrolls through his secret Tumblr blog, then flicks through Youtube.
May still isn't home.
Finally, May calls him. Even before he picks up the phone, Peter knows she won't be coming home tonight.
“Hey, May,”
“Hi, Peter. I’m so sorry, but I dont think I'm going to be able to get off work. We didn’t have anything planned, right? Could you go stay at Tony’s?”
Peter looks around at the apartment, lit up with fairy lights that he went to three different shops to find. She sounds so guilty.
“No, we didn’t have anything. Its okay, May, i don’t want to bother Tony, i’ll just hang out with Ned or something,”
“Thank you, baby. I love you,”
“Love you, May,” He hangs up and drops the phone. Almost immediately, he feels the tears coming. He feels selfish, because May is doing so much good and all he wanted to do was watch old sitcoms with her.
He considers calling Tony, but he doesn't want to be a bother. He’s probably busy anyway. And why would anyone want to spend time with someone like Peter?
He shakes the thought out of his head and decides to go patrolling.
As soon as he’s swinging above the city, Peter feels better. The cool air rushes around him and his whole body fills with adrenaline. Something about being Spider-man, instead of Peter, is so freeing.
“Karen?” He shouts above the deafening wind.
“ Yes, Peter ?”
“Play my ‘Crime-fighting’ playlist, please,”
The music serves as the perfect background noise for patrolling, and keeps alut any thoughts of May or Tony or anything else.
Peter webs up two robbers and gets a cat out of a tree in the next hour.
The sun is setting and Peter is still wincing from the cat’s viscous claws when he sees the man in the alley.
***
The man is cornering a lady by one of the dumpsters. She’s clutching a small purse and is dressed in a fancy dress and heels. He has a knife pressed to her throat.
“Hey, stop it!” Peter yells down. The man jerks back, away from the woman. The robber looks between her and Peter. Peter jumps down next to him and quickly shoots a web at his arm, pinning him to the wall, before he turns to the woman.
“Are you all right?” He asks kindly. She's shaking and there are mascara streaks on her face, but she nods bravely.
“Okay, that's good. What's your name?”
“Estelle,” She whispers.
“Okay, Estelle. Will you be able to get home by yourself?” She nods.
“Good. I’ll take care of this guy. I suggest getting some pepper spray or something like that, in case this ever happens again,”
“I will. Thank you, Spider-man. I’ll never forget this,”
“Happy to help, ma’am.”
She runs out of the alley.
Peter turns back to the robber, ready to web him up more and call the police, but…. he’s gone. The webbing on the wall is ripped up.
“Oh, sh -” is all he manages to get out before the robber lunges at him and forces the large knife directly into his stomach.
Peter drops to his knees.
He’s been shot at, beat up, and almost run over, but he’s never been stabbed before.
It hurts.
The blood starts coming out slowly, thick and dark. Peter’s hands are soon slick with it, and he almost gags from the metallic smell. Peter slumps onto his back and stares up at the sky. He almost asks Karen to call May, but then he remembers.
Tony would definitely be mad at him. How stupid could he be? He should have webbed up that guy better. He should have called the police first .
Peter’s vision starts to get darker. He sobs once, but it hurts so much that he doesn't dare do it again. The effort of keeping in everything almost makes him combust.
No one is coming to get him. And he knows it's his fault.
Peter lies on the cold stones, all alone, and he takes his last breath, thick with the smell of blood
Peter watches the sky darken until the blackness takes over his whole head
Peter drifts off to sleep, and he knows he wont wake up
The dark spots in his eyes get bigger and bigger. His stomach burns, burns, burns, and it feels like his whole body is going to go up in flames.
The roaring in his ears gets louder and louder-
Wait.
The roaring suddenly stops.
“...Kid?” Someone asks from above him.
Peter feels someone touch his shoulder and he opens his eyes.
“Mr…Stark?” His voice is so quiet, but it takes so much of his energy to say that much.
“Oh, kid. Why didn't you call anyone?”
“I…..didn’t think anyone would come. May’s… working. Didn’t want to bother you…..”
“Peter, buddy, stay with me. You will never bother me, okay, I promise,” Mr. Stark's voice is shaking, but Peter doesn't know why. He feels likes he’s floating,
The spots are getting bigger. Peter watches them bloom and shrink.
“---Peter? Peter! Stay awake for me, okay? I’m taking you to the tower,” “Mmk,” Peter agrees. His stomach hurts.
“Okay, okay, we’re here. You’ll be okay, Peter, just stay awake ,”
“How did you find me?”
“Karen sent out a distress signal. I programmed it in, just in case.”
“Thank you, Tony,”
Peter falls asleep.
***
When he wakes up, the sun is setting, and he’s confused.
Didn’t this already happen?
“What…?” He asks, feeling groggy and tired and sore. He looks down.
His torso is wrapped in bandages and there are tubes connected to his arms. The room is white and smells like cleaning supplies.
Tony is asleep in the chair next to him.
“Mr. Stark?”
The man jerks awake, looking around, until his eyes land on Peter.
“Oh, god, kid,” Tony breathes. He slumps back in his chair and lets out a sigh of relief.
“How long was I asleep?”
“Two days. Don't worry, your aunt knows everything,”
“Two days…what happened?”
“You had to have surgery. The knife didn't pierce any organs, but you still lost a fair bit of blood. I…I found you in an alley, bleeding out. You got yourself stabbed,”
Peter hangs his head. He knew Tony would be mad.
“I’m so sorry,” He can feel tears leaking from the corners of his eyes, “I didnt web this guy up right and he got free. I did’t realize until it was too late,”
“Wha- Peter, you got stabbed. I’m not mad at you, I was scared. I dont like seeing you hurt, kid,”
Peter looks up. Tony isnt mad at him?
“Oh…….” Peter says sheepishly.
Tony chuckles a little bit and shakes his head, “How are you feeling, Pete? Do you need anything?”
Peter yawns. “I think I'm gonna sleep a little bit more?”
“Okay, bud. Get your rest. I’ll be there when you wake up,”
Peter nods and leans back on his pillows. A wave of exhaustion sweeps over him, and he drifts off again.

Fanfic Rec #123 Tony Stark & Peter Parker (Marvel) part 5
i’ve been holding back tears (while you’re throwing back beers) by im_your_mom_now After the deaths of his parents, Peter Parker—along with his two other siblings—were put under the care of his alcoholic aunt. Twelve years later, Peter is juggling life as a sixteen-year-old caretaker of his four cousins, a prodigious student, and a Pizza King employee. Oh yeah, and he’s Spider-Man. As things start to unfurl, Tony Stark—Peter’s mentor—starts to suspect some issues at home. Peter can’t let his role model know anything or else he risks losing their budding relationship or, more importantly, his family. ____ TLDR: Aunt May sucks, Peter has to pick up the slack because she’s not only his guardian, but the guardian of his two other siblings & her own four kids. Peter is trying his best. Tony wants to help.
The Hoodie™ by coconutknightshade The one in which Tony overhears Peter telling his roommate that the MIT hoodie he's wearing is his dads. The one in which Peter never plans to call Tony 'dad' to his face but the universe has other plans.
Definitely A Dad by AnabelleBlack20 With a fond smile, Tony tousled Peter’s hair. "Hey! I spent twenty minutes making them stay down." Peter swatted Tony's hand away and tried to flatten his hair, key word being tried. "You're adorable if you think you succeeded in getting your hair to behave. Now be a good boy and pose for the camera. I promised May I'd send her some shots of her baby." Or, Rhodey witnesses Irondad and Spiderson for the first time and nearly melts.
Tower of Donuts and Doubts by platinumdollz “You know, you could always just tell everyone that you lost the internship. I mean, that's what you told Liz, right?” Peter nodded, slowly. “And it wouldn’t really be a lie. You used to work with Mr. Stark and now you don’t.” And now you don’t, the phrase rang out. It hurt him to hear it so simply put. But he couldn't argue that it was true. Peter got to keep the suit, but lost the genius, who built it for him. ----------- Mr. Harrington announced that Peter's class would be attending a field trip to Stark Tower. The place that Peter had allegedly been interning at for months. It would be great, except that Peter has no internship and refuses to burden Mr. Stark with his problems any longer.
Capri Sun by coconutknightshade The one in which Peter is riding the elevator with Tony and Pepper when he notices a fourth heartbeat and honestly he can't believe Pepper and Tony haven't told him yet that they're having a baby. In the end it's Peter that tells them they're having a baby.

summary: Tony’s heart has been working on overdrive since this whole thing started. Friday has a countdown clock plastered on the heads up display, but it feels like hieroglyphics to him at this point, like some ancient language he could never master.
Because when Peter Parker is missing, things start losing their meaning real quick.
“Should be around here,” Rhodey says on the com. May is still on the other line, listening in, because once a certain amount of time goes by without word from Peter, things move into Extremely Worried Aunt territory. They’re already in Tony Is Panicking territory, and when both of those territories overlap it’s never a good time for anybody.

He doesn’t think about that place. That half-world. No way, that’s done, that’s over, that’s history.“Hey, kid, don’t you know it’s bad etiquette to go and disappear on your birthday? Out of Left Field by blondsak, seekrest
summary: Even if Tony didn’t end up becoming a big fan of the Mets, Peter knew they’d still have a great time at the game. And the fact that Tony wanted to go with Peter badly enough to make it clear that he should buy a pair of tickets as a birthday gift?

Maybe for once the month of May was going to work out for him after all.

summary: When Tony first started to forget things, Peter thought maybe it was just age. People’s memories fade as they get older, right? Minds get weaker. It’s just natural.
But Tony has arguably the sharpest mind of the 21st century. Peter should have realised that it was never going to be just getting weaker. It was never going to be just age.
No - not when the sharpest mind of the 21st century also happened to come into contact with the deadliest amount of gamma radiation known to man five years ago.

a dream is a wish by floweryfran
summary: Tony seems to panic for a moment, shifting his weight foot to foot, before spitting out in one mouthful, “I have a business trip in Florida right before your spring break and I talked to May and she says I can bring you to Disney for the week once it’s done ahhh.” He then breathes, grins plastically, and holds his hands out, like, I’m Tony Stark, hold your applause.
Peter runs the words through his head no less than three times to make sure he had understood them properly. “Disney—you and me—spring break?” he repeats.
Tony nods, hair flopping. “I mean, like, don’t feel obligated to say yes, but I thought it would be fun since May says you’ve never gone and she would’ve been working for your whole break anyway, y’know, at least this way we won’t be worrying about you sitting home alone for hours doing G-d only knows what—building accidental robot armies or something, or, worse, becoming a couch potato and forgetting every bit of knowledge I’ve ever carefully placed in that rat trap you call a brain—”
“Tony,” Peter says, waving his hands to shut Tony up. Something warm sits in the core of his chest, hovering. “Yeah,” he says. “Yeah, yeah, for sure, let’s—Disney. Let’s go. Wow.”

“You’re insufferable,” Peter says flatly. “I hate you.”
“And just for that, I think this calls for those wool socks I was working on,” Tony says brightly.
“No--no, wait--”
“It’s time to learn that your consequences have actions, Parker--”
“Wait, wait, I love your knitting, I think it’s super healthy and fulfilling and honestly the best thing that’s ever happened to you since you retired!” Peter hollers at the man’s figure as it retreats quickly down the hallway. -- After Peter faints into hibernation because he can't thermoregulate, Tony isn't taking anymore chances. Sneak peek for villainous July
With so many teasers and sneak peeks being released, I decided to show a little something myself. This one is from part six of my Villain Irondad and Hero Spiderson series:
Sighing tiredly, Tony glanced at the barricade built outside of the bank by the police, reporters standing as close to it as possible and without a doubt broadcasting the drama. Tony had counted on that when he’d formed this plan. Before he left, he put on the channel that was sure to report on something like this and set the volume high enough for Peter to hear from his room.
They’ve been broadcasting for a whole hour now and still no sign of the vigilante.
“E-excuse me?” a meek voice asked.
Tony turned his head and easily found the source – it was the same blonde girl from a few weeks back.
“Betty, shh!” her mother frantically shushed her.
“I remember you,” Tony said, “how’s your demon cat?”
Betty chuckled. “Marshmallow’s fine. She hasn’t gotten stuck on any tree since.”
Tony nodded. “If you want to use the toilet, feel free. This is not a school, you don’t have to ask.”
“Uh, n-no, I just wanted to ask – why are you doing this?”
Tony looked back outside, then to the windows in hopes of spotting the familiar red and blue costume. “I’m waiting for someone.”
“Who?” the girl asked.
“Betty!” her mother hissed again.
“Let her speak,” Tony said, “she’s the only one who gets it. If anything, I should be insulted. I thought I was famous enough for everyone to know that I don’t target civilians. Instead, you lump me with some low-grade amateurs. I’m a professional. I have standards!”
“You still didn’t answer my question,” Betty piped in again. Very reporter-like, Tony noted, though that was to be expected. The clip of him rescuing that demon cat first appeared in Midtown school news she was doing with some other boy.
“Who am I waiting for?” Tony repeated, feeling like she already knew the answer.
I plan to release a 4-parter of villain Peter too, but we'll see how long it will end up in the end (I hope it'll be only four parts, but I'm very bad at math).
