my current favorite response to complete strangers i’ve never seen or interacted with in my life pulling me aside and going “what happened?????” like they’re entitled to my entire medical history when i’m just trying to get to science class or smth and am FAR from in the mood for this shit, is:

“well, i have no idea who you are, so i’m not sure if it’s any of your business! you didn’t even ask my name first either, because apparently this is the only interesting thing about me! but if you really have to know that badly, i’m disabled!!” then smile and walk away

makes them feel bad and makes it less likely that they’ll go up to a random disabled person on the street and start interrogating them about their body, while also being as rude as they deserve. perfect

just “i was born” works if you’re in a hurry
