Night 1 Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4
Week 5 here we go!!!
“W...what are you doing here?” you stammered, shock keeping you frozen to the spot.
“Can I come in?” he asked. “So we can talk?”
“Yeah, okay,” you agreed, forcing yourself to move at last.
You stepped out of the way and allowed him into your room. You followed him to the couch and he took a seat, but you couldn’t. Now that you were moving, you didn’t want to stop. You began pacing back and forth in front of the coffee table.
“How are you?” he asked.
You stopped in your tracks and faced him. “I’m doing well. What are you doing here?”
“I had to see you,” he said. “I’ve missed you so much and I wanted to tell you before you maybe got swept up in…”
“In what?” you pressed.
“In all this,” he said. “In someone else.”
Jamie Bell was an actor and dancer. While Peter’s season was airing, he had gotten in touch with you via social media. He was in LA, so you went out on a few dates with him. You thought things were going well, and that there was real potential there. But before he returned to England, he broke it off. He didn’t know when he would be coming back to the states, and he didn’t really believe in long distance relationships. A month later, you got the call from Chris Harrison with the offer to be the Bachelorette. Since you still wanted to find your partner, you accepted.
As you looked at Jamie now, those old feelings started to return to you. You were reminded harshly of his charm and all the fun you had together.
“That’s all you wanted to tell me?” you questioned. “That you missed me?”
Despite the good memories, he had really hurt you. You were skeptical of his being here now.
“I can’t stop thinking about you,” he said. “Ever since I left.”
“Jamie, that was months ago,” you reminded him. “You had plenty of time to contact me before I started this.”
“I didn’t want to stand in your way,” he said. “You know I’ve only ever wanted for you to be happy.”
You frowned. “No, I don’t think I do. If you really wanted me to be happy, you would have given us a shot when we had one. Instead of running away.”
You wanted to add “like a coward” to the end of that, but you held your tongue. He didn’t deserve any harsh words, really, since he had done the right thing if he wasn’t feeling the relationship. You wanted to hear him out.
“I’m sorry I hurt you,” he said. “But at the time, I really wasn’t sure about us. It took being away from you for me to realize that I’d made a huge mistake.”
You took a deep breath and looked away from him, heart aching.
“How come you didn’t reach out?” you asked.
“Like I said, I didn’t want to get in the way if doing this was what you really wanted,” he told you. “But I heard you were here in London and I just had to see you. And take my chance.”
He stood up and crossed the room to you. He placed a hands on your arms. You remembered his touch as if it were yesterday.
“You can’t deny that we had something great,” he said. “Maybe it’s still there.”
“What would you have me do?” you demanded, wrenching free of him and stepping back. “Leave all of this behind? I’ve made really strong connections. I’m falling in love, Jamie. You want me to just throw it all away?”
“No, that’s not what I want,” he said. “I want you to give me a chance too.”
You blinked, stunned.
“What, you mean come and join the house?” you asked. “With the other guys?”
He nodded. “That’s exactly what I mean.”
You sighed, turned away, and went to the window, looking out at the city, hoping it would bring you some clarity. You liked Jamie, and you missed him too, but the guys who were here meant so much to you. To bring in another person when you were already getting down to the wire would really throw things off.
“I dunno if that’s a good idea,” you said. “This is almost over. Hometowns are next week. I don’t know if I could do this to them and then meet their families.”
You heard him huff behind you, so you turned around again, looking at him expectantly.
“Shouldn’t you follow your own heart?” he said. “This is about you, isn’t it?”
“It is,” you said. “But I also care about these men, and I don’t want to hurt them. Like I said, I’m falling in love. As great a time as we had, I didn’t get there with you before you left.”
“But we have another chance now,” he insisted. “You just have to say yes.”
“I don’t know if I want to,” you replied.
His hopeful expression broke, shifting into hurt.
“I’m sorry,” you said. “But I can’t see myself getting there with you now. Not when I’m so far along with these guys. I told them when we started I knew my husband was among them. And that’s still true. I know that one of them is my person.”
He inhaled deeply, absorbing this blow. You hated to hurt him. But you weren’t sure about him, and at this point, you needed to be sure of anyone you were going to keep around. That security was in the seven men you still had.
“I appreciate you taking a shot,” you said. “But I think you were right back then when you left. We should say goodbye.”
“That’s really how you feel?” he asked.
You met his gaze.
“That’s really how I feel,” you said. “I’ll walk you to the door.”
You went to the door, passing him and allowing him to follow you. He stopped you as you reached for the handle.
“Y/N,” he said.
You looked at him.
“I hope you have a wonderful life.”
You smiled. “Thanks, Jamie. You too.”
He hugged you for a brief moment before leaving. You closed the door behind him, feeling like that door was closing on your heart. When you and Jamie dated, you thought you could fall in love with him. But since you met the men on your season now, you realized that Jamie was not it. It was time to move on.
First, you had to clarify this to the men.
You grabbed your room key and headed out. It made you nervous to confess something like this to them, but you didn’t want them to leave here and start reading about rumors and then doubt you. It would be better to hear exactly what happened, directly from you.
The men’s suite was one floor above yours. Your hands shook a little as you approached the door. Would they really understand? Would they now doubt your reasons for coming on this journey? You just had to tell them and find out.
You knocked on the door.
Taron answered and was immediately thrilled to see you. His wide smile made you return with one, and he pulled you in for a hug before stepping aside and letting you walk in.
“What’s brought you here?” he asked sweetly.
“Something I wanted to discuss with all of you,” you said.
The rest of them were already in the sitting area of the suite. You took a seat on the couch between Rami and Joe.
“What’s up, Y/N?” Joe wondered.
“So, someone was just here,” you said. “Someone from my past.”
They all exchanged worried glances as you took another deep breath. Then you launched into the story. You told them how you met Jamie, the extent of the relationship, how it ended, and what he had asked of you just minutes ago. You watched as their faces went from surprised, to at ease, to shock again.
“I told him no,” you said, and relief took them. “Whatever was between us doesn’t compare to what I have with each of you, and I don’t think that in the time we have left that it could get there. So I sent him away.”
“You didn’t want to let him stay?” Gwilym asked. “Not even a little bit?”
“I’m gonna be honest, part of me did want to say yes,” you said. “But I know what I have here, and how I’m feeling about each of you. It wouldn’t be worth it to bring him on just to send him home at the end of the week. This - what I have with the people in this room - is where the potential is for me. I just wanted to be totally honest with you guys.”
“We appreciate it,” Rami said.
“I also didn’t want gossip magazines or anything like that getting a hold of even a scrap of this and blowing it way out of proportion,” you said. “These are the facts. And I hope you all trust me.”
“Of course we do,” said Ben. “Thanks for doing this.”
“Thank you all for being so understanding and lovely,” you said. “But now, I’ve got to get some sleep. It’s been a long, emotional day, and I’m ready to get to Ireland.”
They all agreed and got up to walk you to the door. You hugged each of them before leaving, a great weight lifted from your heart. You truly had a wonderful group of men here who were kind and genuine. This would ultimately make your decisions going forward more difficult. But for now, it made you happy.
When you landed in Ireland, your heart was beginning to sink. This was a big week. This was the week you would decide who would get hometown dates. You had to decide who’s connections were strong enough to want to meet their families. Three men - men you cared about so dearly - would be going home.
The men were equally anxious. They knew the weight of the week ahead. They also had to decide if they wanted you to meet their families. How strongly were they feeling for you? Could they really see themselves proposing at the end of this?
You were all staying at Ballyseede Castle. The guys had a few rooms to themselves and you had a separate room, on the other side of the building. You had the first date after your arrival there, and you were excited about it. But it was time to make a big decision. This date was make or break.
The first date card arrived, and Taron went to answer the door. When he returned to the guys, they were silent and waiting.
“Rami,” Taron read. “Will we sink or sail? Love, Y/N.”
“Finally,” Rami sighed, taking the card as Taron handed it to him. “I’m ready for a one on one.”
“Are you ready to take her home to your family?” Joe asked.
Rami nodded. “Yeah...yeah, I am. I’m falling for this girl, and I think bringing her home could solidify it for me.”
“Well, I hope it goes well, then,” Joe said with a smile.
They all wished him luck as he went to get ready.
Rami met you at a small dock on Lough Lane, the largest of the Killarney lakes. You beamed at Rami as he jogged up to you, wrapping you up in his arms and hugging you tight. You couldn’t help but giggle as you saw him and hold on for just a moment longer.
“So,” you said as you separated. “We are going on a little boat tour of Lough Lane today. There are tons of places to see along the shore, which are almost all part of Killarney National Park.”
“Sounds great!” he said.
“Awesome, let’s go!”
You took his hand. Together you walked to the little boat that was reserved for you and climbed in. You were in awe of Ireland and its natural beauty, so this was a great way to see some of it. Your guide was a local who knew most of the history, and he explained it to you and Rami as you rode around. It was a beautiful, sunny spring day. The water was shining like glass and the shore was a deep, lush green.
You stopped on a small island in the middle of the lake called Innisfallen. There was an old, crumbling building there. The guide told you this was Innisfallen Abbey. You and Rami clasped hands and went to explore it.
“I love doing stuff like this,” you said. “Seeing some history and all this beauty.”
“Me too,” he agreed. “I’m glad you chose me for this.”
“I’m glad too,” you replied. “I feel really good about us.”
He stepped closer so he could kiss you. You parted, grinning, before walking around some more.
“So, tell me about your family,” you said. “You know getting a rose this week means I’m going to meet them.”
“So you wanna be prepared?” he teased.
“Of course!”
“Well, there’s not much to know, really,” he said. “My parents are incredibly kind people. I’m sure they’ll love you. The trick is impressing my siblings.”
“A sister and a brother, right?” you asked.
“Yep,” he confirmed with a nod. “My sister is older and pretty protective of the both of us. She’s gonna be the tough one.”
“I see,” you said. “Well, I like that she cares about you so much.”
“She really does,” he said. “She’s the best sister in the world, honestly. She was pretty skeptical about this whole thing, but I think once she meets you, she’ll understand.”
“That’s good to hear,” you said. “I love that you’re all so close.”
“You told me that you and your family aren’t,” he said. “Can I ask why?”
You sighed. “Just...they were very conservative and religious. But they’re also really cold people. I felt like I was being controlled, not loved. So when I turned eighteen, I left. We talk every once in a while, but just for holidays and stuff. We don’t really have a relationship at all.”
“I’m sorry,” he said, taking your hand again. “I can’t imagine what that’s like.”
“It’s not easy,” you told him. “For a long time, I felt so alone. Then I met my ex - before Peter, that is - and things got worse.”
“Things got worse with your parents?”
“Just worse in general, including my parents,” you said. “The years I was with him, we didn’t speak at all.”
He let out a low whistle. “That’s tough.”
A beat passed and then he looked at you.
“You’re really strong, you know that?” he said.
“You think so?” you questioned.
Your inability to maintain a relationship with your family always made you feel like there was something wrong with you.
“I know so,” he said. “To get away from your family because you know they’re not good for you, to endure what you endured from your ex, and then to still have the faith in love that you have...I’m kinda blown away right now.”
“Thanks, Rami,” you said quietly. “That really means a lot to me.”
He smiled, which made you smile too.
“I didn’t think I could fall any more in love with you, but here I am,” he said.
You beamed and leaned forward to kiss him.
Shortly after, you rode back to the mainland and disembarked. You thanked your guide before leaving the little harbor. Then you both went to prepare for the evening portion of the date.
Rami: I feel really good about our date today. Opening up with Y/N is as easy as breathing. We have a really natural connection. I do want to introduce her to my family and get a feel for how she’ll fit, but I don’t think it’s gonna be a problem. She fits in with me, anyway.
For the evening, you had the restaurant and bar of the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club. It had a spectacular view of the lake, which looked much darker as the sun went down behind it. You and Rami sat down to dinner and you took a sip of wine.
“Today was a lot of fun,” you said. “I love to travel and explore, so I like that we got to see something different.”
“I’m the same way,” he told you. “I had a great time.”
“Where’s your ideal travel spot?” you asked.
“I would really like to go back to Egypt,” he said. “I’ve only been a few times, and I was pretty young, so I felt like I didn’t fully appreciate it.”
“That would be cool,” you said.
“Where would you want to go?” he asked.
“The top of my list was always London,” you said with a small laugh. “So I’m glad we went there! But after that it was always Tokyo.”
“I’ve never been, but I’ve heard it’s amazing,” he said. “Maybe we can go together sometime.”
“I’d love that,” you said. “I’d love to just travel the world with you.”
“Sounds like a dream,” he replied.
You paused for a moment before continuing.
“So, I kind of just want to check in with you since this is such a big week and I could potentially meet your family,” you said. “How are you feeling?”
He took a sip of his drink.
“Honestly, Y/N, I’m feeling good,” he said. “It’s hard to think about you and the other guys, but I feel great about us. We have a great connection. It’s definitely something I want to keep exploring because I’m falling so hard for you. Nothing would make me happier than taking you home to meet my family.”
You smiled.
“I’m feeling great about us, too,” you told him. “From day one, I feel like we’ve had something really unique and special. I want to know more about how you came to be the person you are. I want to meet your family.”
He grinned at you and you giggled back. He had the cutest, most genuine smile you’d seen in a long time. His eyes shone at you. You picked up the rose.
“Rami,” you said, letting his name linger in your mouth a moment because it felt so nice. “Will you accept this rose and take me home?”
He kissed you so enthusiastically, you laughed into his mouth. His answer was certainly clear to you. Your lips moved together deeply, with a tenderness that made you want to melt into a puddle right in your chair. When you parted to breathe, you pinned the rose to his jacket.
“I’m so happy, Y/N,” he said.
“I’m happy too, Rami,” you replied. “I can’t wait!”
You kissed again, heart soaring.
To celebrate, you went out to the balcony of the golf club and held each other as you looked out over the lake. As a small fireworks show began, you thought about how stoked you were to meet Rami’s family. To know him on a deeper level. Maybe then, you could really fall in love with him.
Back at the castle, in his room, Allen was looking out over the land pensively. Joe, who was his roommate, took notice and stopped what he was doing.
“Allen, you okay?” Joe asked.
“I think so,” Allen replied. “I dunno...being home is sort of putting a lot in perspective for me.”
“You wanna talk about it?” Joe offered.
“I’m okay,” Allen said. “Thanks, though.”
Joe left it alone, but he quickly became concerned. What did that mean?
Allen: Being home in Ireland has just got me thinking about things on a larger scale. Last time I fell in love this quickly, it ended badly. I’m not sure I am in love with Y/N at this point. And any girl I introduce to my family...I want to be in love with her. I want to be sure that she’s the one. And there’s no way to be sure right now because she’s still the Bachelorette, right? I’ve got a lot to think about right now.
Another date card arrived before Rami got home. Gwilym retrieved it and read it aloud.
“Richard,” he read. “Let’s be king and queen of the castle. Love, Y/N.”
“Alright, I can’t wait!” Richard said, taking the card as Gwilym handed it out to him. “I’m ready for that time with her.”
He looked at the card and wondered what it meant. He wasn’t familiar with Killarney at all, so he assumed there was some bit of history to what you would be doing. Maybe even within the castle you were staying in.
When Rami got home, rose on his chest, the mood shifted in the house. That meant there were only three roses left for hometowns. If Richard got one on his date, the odds were even slimmer for the guys on the group date. It hit them suddenly just how serious this was becoming.
The next day, you met Richard at Ross Castle, a fifteenth century tower fortress that overlooked Lough Leane. It was made of grey stones, which stood out among the green backdrop around it.
“Hi!” you greeted Richard as he gathered you up in a hug.
“Hello!” he returned, kissing you softly.
“I’m so glad you’re with me today,” you said. “We’re gonna explore Ross Castle together, so I hope you like history.”
“Sure I do,” he replied.
Taking his hand, you headed inside. It was amazing to see a small building with so much history.
“So, this castle was built by O’Donoghue Mor,” you said. “Legend has it, he lies in slumber deep beneath Lough Leane, and on the first morning of May, he rises out on his magnificent white horse and circles the lake. If you see him, you’re blessed with good luck for the rest of your life.”
“Spooky,” Richard said. “Does it cancel out any bad luck? Like, say you walked under a ladder or broke a mirror, are you cured?”
You laughed. “I would hope so!”
He smiled at you. “Who needs luck anyway, when I’ve got you?”
“How sweet,” you said with a blush.
As much fun as you were having with Richard, this still felt too new. You didn’t feel like you had progressed much with him. He was falling behind, and you needed more from him if he was going to get the rose from you.
The whole day was light and cheerful, despite your worries. You just knew you would have to talk to him about it that night. The castle was beautiful, the view of the lake was spectacular, and you were enjoying getting to do this with him.
For the evening, you had a room on the first floor of the castle set up for your dinner date. You walked in together and admired the coziness of it before sitting down at the table. Your stomach turned with nerves as you thought about what you wanted from Richard. What if it was something he wasn’t prepared to give?
“I had a great time today,” he said. “I always have so much fun with you.”
You sighed, setting down your wine glass.
“That’s great, Richard,” you said. “But is that all this is to you? We’re just…having fun together?”
He swallowed, brow furrowing. “Is there something wrong with that?”
That stung. You hated that your reservations were right.
“Yeah, there is,” you said. “This is getting real now. Giving you this rose means I meet your family. I don’t want to do that if you’re not serious about this.”
He took so long to reply you feared for a moment that he wouldn’t. But you needed him to respond to that.
“I don’t know what you want me to say,” he said. “I really like you. I like where this is going. I’d like to keep seeing you.”
You released a slow, deep breath.
“It has to be more than that at this point,” you said. “We’re beyond exploring the relationship. Where do you see us at the end of this?”
His mouth turned down.
“What are you asking me, Y/N?” he asked.
“Can you see yourself committing to me?” you pressed.
“You mean, get down on one knee and propose?” he wondered.
You swallowed thickly.
“Yes,” you said. “Is that where you see this going?”
He heaved a sigh and cut his eyes away from yours. Panic made your heart rate pick up.
“I’m sorry, Y/N,” he said heavily. “But I can’t see it in the short amount of time we have left.” He looked at you again. “I know myself, and I’m not going to be ready to propose.”
You blinked and a tear slid down your cheek.
“I see,” you whispered. “Then...then I’m afraid I can’t give you this rose.”
Silence hung between you for a long moment, the joy of the day long gone.
“Can I walk you out?” you asked.
“Sure,” he replied.
You walked in silence to the van waiting for him. You felt a bit numb and confused. You had been feeling so strongly for him, but he wasn’t going to get there with you. It felt a bit like a waste.
“I really am sorry, Y/N,” he said as you came to a stop together.
“It’s alright,” you said. “Better to tell me now than go further into this with different ideas.”
“You’re sure we can’t keep seeing where this goes?” he wondered.
“No,” you said, shaking your head. “I didn’t come here for a boyfriend. I came for a husband. If you can’t get there, then we have to say goodbye.”
“I understand,” he said solemnly. “I wish you every happiness.”
“I wish the same for you,” you returned.
You shocked yourself at how sure you sounded when inside you were falling apart a little. You and Richard had been going strong. It made your heart ache for it to end this way.
“Goodbye, Y/N,” he said.
You hugged him one last time. “Goodbye, Richard.”
Upon parting, your eyes lingered on each other for a moment longer. Because this was your last time together, each of you were not eager for it to end. But at some point it had to. He was the one who finally conceded and opened the car door. You closed it behind him, letting more tears fall down your face.
“This sucks,” he said to the camera as the van started down the road. “I really thought we had something great. I just wish I could get where she wants. But I can’t and I don’t want to rob her of men that can give her that, you know? I’m just going to miss her a lot.”
You wiped your face, but the tears still fell slowly.
“I hate this,” you said to the camera. “I really didn’t want to say goodbye, but...I can’t just keep him if he’s not in the same place. I know I made the right decision.”
You went back to look out over the water. You had gotten clarity from Richard, and you were sure of what you did. That didn’t mean it was easy.
Back at the house, the guys were lounging around and talking over the possibilities for the group date. That’s when a producer arrived to take Richard’s things.
“No way!” Ben gasped.
The others shared his sentiment, and expressed their disbelief as well.
Gwilym: I’m shocked that Richard’s going home tonight. They seemed to have a strong connection. Although, he did confess to me that he wasn’t in love with her. Most of the rest of us are, so maybe she just knew it couldn’t get there. That does mean there are still three roses to give out.
After the producer took Richard’s luggage, there was a knock on the door for a date card. Rami went to get it and opened it.
“Gwilym, Joe, Ben, Allen, and Taron,” he read. “Join me for a long expected party. Love, Y/N.”
“Okay, I really have no idea what that means,” Ben said.
“It could mean anything, really,” Taron agreed. “But a party implies fun.”
Taron: I’m actually quite nervous about this group date. Her sending Richard home on their one on one show how serious this is getting. I mean, when there’s the possibility for her to meet your family, how could it not be? I just hope I’m able to spend a good amount of time with her and show her how badly I want to take her home.
Allen got to his feet, heart pounding. He knew he had to see you before the group date and talk about what he was feeling. He went to his producer and spoke to her about what he needed, and she told him he could go to see you. So, he headed to your room.
You were still recovering from your break up with Richard. As much as you knew it was the right thing, you were hurting. You were journaling about it to organize your feelings when you heard a knock on your door. You set your things aside, got to your feet, and stretched before going to answer it. When you looked through the peephole, you were delighted to see Allen standing there.
“Hey,” you said warmly as you opened the door.
Your brow furrowed at his anguished expression.
“What’s up?” you asked.
You stepped back to allow him across the threshold. You closed the door and faced him, expression just as questioning.
“How are you?” he asked. “I know today probably wasn’t easy. Saying goodbye and all.”
You sighed. “You’re right, it wasn’t wasn’t. I’m still working through it, but I’ll be okay. I’ve got other great relationships I can focus on.”
You tried to smile, but the look on his face made you falter.
“What’s going on?” you asked. “What did you need to see me about?”
“I needed to talk to you before going on the group date tomorrow,” he said. “I’m not sure how I’m feeling.”
You blinked. “Um...what do you mean?”
“Since coming to Ireland, I’ve been really reflecting on my feelings,” he said. “You know my history so you know I’ve really got to feel something - and be sure of it - before committing again.”
“I understand,” you said. “Are you...are you not feeling something for me?”
“I don’t know,” he sighed. “That’s just it...I’m not sure. I like you - I like you a lot - but I hear the way the other guys talk about you, and I’m not sure I’m there.”
Richard’s exit already felt like one blow. Now, it felt like Allen had knocked you off your feet. You sat down on the couch to feel steady.
“You haven’t said you were falling in love with me or anything,” you said. “And I understood your hesitation. But you’ve continued through this with me. What’s changed?”
“Being home has reminded me of my last relationship,” he said. “And it’s making me realize how serious this is for you and for everyone else. And I don’t feel what I should be feeling by now.”
You felt more tears welling up. God, you were sick of crying already. Two men you felt had such strong connections had both admitted they were not in love with you. Doubt crept into your heart. Were you more sure than the men? Were you mistaken in your feelings?
“So what are you saying?” you sniffled. “You want to leave?”
“I do,” he said. “I’m sorry. But you’ve always said you want us to be honest. This is my truth.”
You took a deep breath and swallowed. “Well, I gotta say, Allen, I’m really blindsided right now.”
Richard, you sort of expected. He was reserved and you could feel that he wasn’t in this. But Allen...this had taken you completely off guard.
“I thought we had something really great,” you went on. You leaned forward, elbows on your thighs, and head in your hands. “Now I’m questioning everything.”
“I don’t want you to question everything,” he said, taking your hands to make you look at him. “This is just me.”
“It’s not, though, Richard had the same problem. He wasn’t in love with me and he couldn’t see himself getting there,” you argued. “Is every man here just pretending?”
“I take a bit of offense to that,” he said. “I haven’t faked anything. My effort in getting to know you has been absolutely genuine. The other guys are as well. Those guys are falling in love with you so hard their heads are spinning.”
You tried to smile, but couldn’t. You had taken too many hits today. He sat down beside you.
“I’m sorry you feel the way you do,” you said. “Because I was really falling in love with you.”
“I’m sorry too, darlin’,” he replied. “But it’s for the best.”
With that, he pulled you into a hug. You wept quietly into him for a few moments, remembering all your great times and wonderful conversations. When he pulled away, he wiped your face with his thumbs.
“You’re a helluva woman,” he said. “One of those men is going to be a wonderful husband to you.”
“Thanks, Allen,” you replied quietly.
You got up together and you walked him to the door.
“I guess this is goodbye,” you said.
“It is,” he returned. “But I hope it’s not forever.”
Now, you did smile. “Not, not forever.”
You embraced again. He gave you a little squeeze, and then he left. As the door clicked shut, you felt more tears fall. You wiped them away.
Allen got into the car that was waiting for him outside. He looked into the camera.
“I know I’ve done the right thing,” he said. “I had to leave. I didn’t want to take time from the other guys who really do love her, it wouldn’t be fair. She’s following her heart, and I’m following mine.”
In your room, you looked at the camera.
“I just feel like all I’ve done this week is say goodbye,” you said. “I said goodbye to Jamie, then to Richard, and now Allen too...it just sucks.”
You went to bed anxious. Who else was going to shock you? Hurt you? Leave you?
The next day, you were still off from your day of goodbyes. You wanted to rally for the men you were going to see today, but you couldn’t be sure you would totally recover. But you didn’t want to be unfair to them. So, you put on your makeup and donned a happy face.
You met them at a bar/cafe in Killarney called The Shire. It was based on the famous home for Hobbits in Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, a favorite series of yours. When you walked inside, your mouth dropped. It really was something straight out of Middle Earth.
The guys, without Allen, showed up a few minutes after you. You looked at the four of them and your hurt began to erode. Allen was right. These four - and Rami too - were where you were going to find your husband.
“Hi!” you greeted. “Welcome to The Shire!”
They smiled, looking around to take everything in.
“We’re a little early,” you said. “But there’s a party here today, and we’re all invited. So, I hope you’re ready for a great time!”
The party was for a local woman who was turning one hundred and eleven. She loved Tolkien, so her family and friends were throwing her a birthday party based on Bilbo Baggins’s one hundred and eleventh birthday. As they started arriving, things picked up, and before you knew it, the party was in full swing.
It was everything a party needed. Snacks provided by the cafe, drinks provided by the bar, incredibly friendly Irish hosts, and a live band. You spend most of the time dancing. You danced with each man you had there, and they were all different. Taron had the most energy, leading you all over the floor. Joe was the silliest, making you laugh more than dance. Ben was shyer, but you got him to open up. Gwilym was poised, but still fun, and surprisingly great at moving his body.
You and the guys got to speak to the woman, whose name was Katie, during a moment of quiet. She was remarkably aware. She hadn’t lost a step, mentally.
“So, Katie,” you said. “What’s the secret to living to one hundred and eleven?”
“I’ll tell you, dear,” she replied. “It’s to stay away from men!”
You giggled together and she patted your hand.
“I’ve already gone off the path, then, I’ve got four of them!” you cried, pointing to them standing behind you.
“Darling, I don’t know how you’re even standing up!” she returned. “Especially, handsome as they are. You’d make better use of the time you’ve got lying down.”
You all burst out laughing and you gave her hand a squeeze. Laughing and dancing and spending this time reminded you of why you started this journey. You were falling in love. There was always hope. You knew exactly what you wanted out of this and you had faith it would come to you.
You had fun all day. The evening portion of the date was being held at The Shire as well, only now you had it all to yourselves. You were excited to talk to these men and see how they were feeling going into hometowns.
You met them once again at the bar, and you made a toast. Then, Gwilym pulled you aside first. You beamed at him as you went into the cafe together to sit and talk.
“How are you?” you asked.
“Very well,” he said. “I’m content with where we are, and ready to keep growing with you.”
“Are you ready to take me to meet your family?” you wondered.
“Oh, absolutely,” he said. “I think it would go exceedingly well, and you would fit right in.”
“The way I did in your library?” you teased.
“Yes, cariad,” he said. “Exactly like that.”
You kissed him. Then you asked him about his family. From his descriptions, it sounded like they were similar to himself - bookish, smart, and very kind. You definitely had something to look forward to if Gwilym got a rose.
Ben pulled you next. Just being around him made you giddy. Ben was so sweet, and you didn’t think you could ever get enough of him. As you took a seat together on a bench, he pulled your legs onto his lap.
“How are you feeling, love?” he asked. “I know this hasn’t been an easy week for you.”
“Yeah, that’s true,” you said. “Between Jamie, Richard, and then Allen, I started feeling like all I was doing was saying goodbye. I really started questioning things.”
“Even though you had given Rami a rose?” he questioned.
“Yeah,” you admitted. “After my date with Rami, I felt like everything was fine, in spite of Jamie showing up and having to make that decision. Then Richard’s date went south, and on the same night, Allen told me he wasn’t in love with me either. I got so scared that maybe this wouldn’t actually work. Maybe it’s not enough time to fall in love and…” you trailed off.
“I’m sorry you went through all that,” Ben said, rubbing his warm palm over your knee comfortingly. “I can’t speak for everyone, but I know that I’m still falling in love with you. I am falling in love with you every single day.”
“I’m falling in love with you too, Ben,” you assured him. Now that you had said it once, you wanted to keep telling him. And you were mostly sure about Ben’s feelings.
He kissed you.
“There’s no way you won’t find love here,” he said after. “You already have.”
You smiled and cupped his cheek. “You’re so wonderful.”
You kissed for a little longer.
After Ben, Joe came to get you. You looked forward to seeing Joe all the time. He was such a rock for you throughout all of this. And now, after your spirits were low, you felt that need to be near him again.
“Hey, baby,” he said lowly as he pulled you into a hug and kissed your forehead. “How’s it going?”
“It’s better now,” you whispered. “I’ve missed you.”
This was true. You actively missed Joe when he wasn’t around. Probably because you already felt so close to him.
“I’ve missed you too,” he replied. “I can’t wait for this part of it to be over. I really want you to meet my family.”
“Really?” you questioned.
“Really,” he told you. “I mean, they’ll love you. You’ll be more popular than I am.”
You giggled. “I dunno about that, but that definitely makes me excited. Who would I be meeting?”
“My mom, my siblings, my nieces and nephews, and probably my grandparents as well,” he said. “We’re a big group, and if there’s any reason we can all be together, we take that opportunity. Especially since my dad passed.”
“That makes sense,” you said. “I’d be so honored to meet the Mazzellos. I want to see the people who helped shape you into...well, one of the most incredible men I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet.”
He smiled. “You’re so sweet, Y/N.”
You chatted for a little longer, with lots of kissing in between.
Finally, Taron got to talk to you. He gave you a huge hug before sitting in a booth beside you.
“I’m so happy to be here with you tonight,” he said. “You’ve been on my mind a lot.”
“I have?” you returned. “In what way?”
“Not anything gross, I promise,” he joked. “But I’ve just been thinking about the chance of you meeting my family and the more I pictured it, the happier I got.”
“That’s so sweet, Taron!” you replied, kissing his cheek.
“That’s not all, though,” he said. “I also thought about what I would tell them when they inevitably asked questions about us. The only thing I could think of was that...well, I love you, Y/N. It’s beyond falling at this point. I’m there. One hundred percent. I love you.”
“Oh!” you gasped. “Oh, Taron, that’s - wow. That’s lovely. Thank you for telling me.”
He smiled and took your hand.
“I just wanted to lay everything out there,” he said. “To let you know where my heart is. It’s with you.”
You returned his grin and leaned over to kiss him again. You felt how deeply he meant those words in this kiss. But, it frightened you a little bit. You had to consider now how you felt about Taron, because you weren’t completely in love with him. You could see it happening for you. But was that enough at this point?
When you parted, you returned to the other guys to hand out the rose. It was waiting for you on a table. You had already decided who you wanted to get it.
“I wanna give this rose to someone who just...made me feel really good tonight,” you said. “Especially after everything that’s happened this week. So...Ben, will you accept this rose?”
“Of course I will,” he replied, standing up to receive it.
After pinning it to his jacket, you kissed each other on the cheek. Then it was time to say goodnight. You had a rose ceremony to prepare for the following evening. At this point in the journey, there were no more cocktail parties.
Ben: I’m stoked I got the rose. I can’t wait to bring Y/N to my hometown and introduce her to my friends and family. I think that it’ll really bring us closer and I’ll be able to tell her that I am in love with her.
The rose ceremony was held in a private room off the lobby of Ballyseede Castle the following night. The men were waiting for you when you walked in. You took a deep breath, more nervous now than before any previous rose ceremony. You knew what you had to do, but you were dreading it. This was the most difficult decision you had made so far.
“Hi guys,” you said, your voice shaking.
They all said hello back to you.
“This is the most difficult rose ceremony to date,” you said. “This was an incredibly hard choice, but with families on the line, I knew I had to be careful and go with where I feel the strongest connections. I hope you understand.”
With that, you picked up the first rose. There were only two.
“Joe,” you said.
You saw him release a breath before approaching you.
“Joe, will you accept this rose?”
“Absolutely.”
You pinned it on him. As he walked back, you picked up the second rose with trembling hands. Both Gwilym and Taron were looking desperately at you. You were going to crush one of them.
Chris Harrison emerged.
“Gentlemen, Y/N,” he said. “This is the final rose tonight. Y/N, when you’re ready.”
You nodded. You weren’t really ready. How you were going to say this goodbye was beyond you. You would be crushed too. You already felt a lump forming in your throat.
“Gwilym,” you said.
Gwilym had the same reaction as Joe as he walked up. You couldn’t look at Taron. You didn’t want to see his face and witness how you’d hurt him. Especially after he told you he was in love with you.
“Gwilym, will you accept this rose?” you asked softly.
“I will,” he replied.
Hands still shaking, you pinned it to his jacket.
“Taron, I’m sorry,” Chris said. “Take a moment, say your goodbyes.”
Taron was already being embraced by Joe and Ben at the same time. Rami followed after and kissed Taron’s cheek. Gwilym hugged him. You heard them whisper words of comfort to him, but you couldn’t make out what they said. You kept your eyes fixed on the floor. You couldn’t see him yet.
Finally, you heard his footsteps coming toward you and you looked up. Your heart broke inside your chest at his expression. He was shocked and hurt, and there were already tears in his eyes. Just as there were in yours.
“Can I walk you out?” you whispered.
“Yeah,” he said numbly.
You walked with him out to the lobby and through the front door, where a car was waiting for him. But before you led him to it, you pulled him aside and stopped.
“I’m so sorry,” you choked out.
“I…” he trailed off and cleared his throat. “I dunno what to even say right now.”
“I know,” you replied. “But yesterday when you told me you love me, I just realized that I wasn’t in the same place. My connections with the others are just further along and stronger, and I have to follow that.”
“I understand,” he said with a sniffle, and he wiped away a tear that had started down his cheek.
“I care for you so deeply, Taron,” you said, sobbing as you spoke his name. “You’re such a special person, and you deserve someone who can give back to you everything you offer.”
Tears were streaming down both your faces now.
“I’m just so sorry I can’t give that to you,” you continued.
He pulled you into his arms. You remembered vividly that day at Disney, and all the times he held you. How you felt about him in that moment. It made you ache. You stood with him for several moments, just weeping together.
“I’m sorry too,” Taron said. “I was hoping...I really wanted to be your husband, Y/N.”
“I’m sorry,” you cried. “You were so brave to come here and risk your heart. I hate that I’m the one breaking it.”
“Don’t be sorry,” he said. “You’re doing what you need to. And I just want you to be happy, Y/N. That’s all I’ve ever wanted for you.”
You sobbed harder, clutching a handful of his shirt. You weren’t quite ready to let him go. Even though you were sure of your decision. Even though he told you not to be, you told him again how sorry you were. There was nothing else to say.
Taron had the strength to finally part and start heading toward the car. You still cried as you went with him. He stopped at the door and kissed your forehead.
“So much luck,” he said gently, his voice gravelly.
“You too,” you replied. “Goodbye, Taron.”
“Goodbye, Y/N.”
He opened the door and slid into the backseat. You closed it behind him and watched him go, carried away from you forever. You looked on until the tail lights were no longer visible in the night. You were gutted.
Taron, inside the car, looked at the camera. Once he was no longer in front of you, he completely broke down. Sobs racked his body. His shoulders shook.
“I just can’t believe this,” he croaked when he had calmed down. “I was really in love with her - I am still. I just didn’t think it would end this way. I really...I really thought it would be me and her at the end of this.”
He wiped his eyes some more. He couldn’t look back now. All dreams of you had to be put aside. He just hoped he would be able to feel again what he felt for you.
Once Taron was gone, you shivered. Alone and sad, you returned to the remaining men. You noticed they were all pretty bummed too. Taron was well-loved, not just by you, but by them as well. Even though it bettered their odds for your heart, it was hard to see him go.
“Thank you all for being so patient,” you said. “That was really difficult for me and the decisions only get harder from here.”
A beat passed and you took a breath.
“That being said, I really am excited to meet your families and see where we can go from here,” you said.
You raised a glass, which Chris had given to you upon your return.
“To hometowns!” you cheered.
“Hometowns!” they echoed.

I love your fanfics! And I was wondering do you have any tips for original fanfic writing or just writing fics in general?
wow this actually ended up a lot longer than i thought it would, but here we go!
Original fanfics, hmmmmmm....
What I generally do is base things off of my own personal experience. Like all my iida fics are stuff that happened between me and my husband before we got married. Can’t help falling in love fic with bakugo, that was a previous relationship i had (which there is more to that story). Caught with todoroki..... thats how i got out of a ticket with a cop and how i learned that when i half check someone out and half start thinking about what i would do to that fine man in uniform (curse my uniform kink) that i glare/make a suspicious face. and when he confronted me about what i was doing, ready to write some kind of ticket for whatever i was doing wrong, i was so embarrassed that i blurted out that i found him very attractive and what exactly was on my mind and how i wanted to take that uniform off him.... that has happened with a emt too, i missed the green light looking at his bulging biceps after he rolled up his sleeves to write on a clip board.... he waved and i proceeded to squat in my seat and slam my face against the stirring wheel. escape artist cat was actually a dream i had, someone was taking off my cat’s pretty ribbon collars and putting ugly ones on her and i woke up sooooo mad, but i turned that dream into a romance story (reality kuiper was taking her collars off herself cause she was a brat) Stories about yourself, no matter how small you think it is actually has great potential to become a fic.
its also okay to borrow ideas from other forms of media. I do. example, Silk Maiden, based off of an old batman episode from the early 2000s. its completely okay to do that. I’m not saying copy and paste the exact scenes. Just take the premises and then change it. some examples, like the movie Brave is the Scottish version of Aladdin. the princess who wants to be free and live her life beyond her princess duties needs to get married and she is not having it and wants to change the rules and runs away to find something new. premise is the same but how the story is told is different, one denies every prince and find her own prince in the streets of her kingdom and the other finds a cake that turns her mom into a bear that helps them understand each other and appreciate each other more. a weeb example is isekais. There are sooooo many isekais. japan, Korea, and china are all mass producing isekais right now. the premises are all the same, someone from one world now in another world primarily thanks to magical truck-kun who is probably could be branded as a mass serial killer at this point. I read a lot and i love korean isekai romance novels. I have read an isekai where the character was a villain who then was reincarnated with the memories of her villainous previous life who decided to live her new life by repenting by helping others but guess what? truck-kun came in the form of a airplane crash and she wakes up again in her first life’s preteen body before she became a villain. I’m reading an isekai isekai, author of an isekai met truck-kun and woke up inside the body of one of her characters in her isekai novel. all the same premise but told in a different way. i want to write an isekai for bnha! take a premise and write what you wanted to see happen between those characters if they were in that situation.
same for some fanfics, like you read a fanfic and you like the story that you read but you wished for something more. You like the idea but you wished that it went in this direction or you wanted different types of interaction, its okay to write your own fic with the same premises. i’ve done that. (side note: but if you are gonna base off of it where a lot of the stuff is the same the give the proper credit where it deserves. no stealing peoples hard work) thats what fanfic was originally made for, fans wanted something more from their favorite works or wants something different (Thank you star trek fandom who started all this). I’ve read a lot of villain deku fics and i was craving a specific type of villain fic where “he really isnt a villain but is one but there is a reason why hes being evil cause it is for the greater good cause of deku’s savior complex and border line martyr complex he’s had since he was a child” with a side of “hero/villain romance”, “surprise quirk” and “badass” and a healthy scoop of “bakugo becomes a better person on his own without deku at UA through the power of friendship cause he has that potential without deku’s constant interference”. no one had what i wanted, so i started writing it myself.
also dont worry about being original. you can write a common idea that everyone sees a thousand times a day, like isekai, and people will love it. focus on how you are telling your story, dont put so much effort in being different. actually, common or typical tropes/ideas help make the story more relatable. two books can be equally as good but one person can like book A over book B because they felt more connected to the characters in it. they could relate to the emotions that were being conveyed.
now writing tips....hmmmmm well not everything works for everyone but this is what i do
I write notes down, lots of them. I have notebooks full of notes for my fics. some people can just sit there and start writing, but i like notes to keep me on track and remind me of stuff i wanted to add. Writing it down makes it easier not to forget, cause you are just lying to yourself if you think you’ll remember the idea for later. i got dialogue, scenes, plots, random quirk ideas, diagrams, (12) oc profiles, outlines, lists, and a event idea that i have that i want to do some day, all in my notebook. If you are going to write a long fic i strongly encourage that you do this. Outlines are your friend, they are bones of the story Ex:
Hero By Another Name original outline:
meet at a fire, firefighter impresses kiri who will later seek her out
kiri is becoming popular and wants to share the fame
they bond some how(?)
firefighter kiri, kirishima needs to wear a firefighter uniform
firefighter turns out to be a mega fan of red riot
photoshoot
kirishima finds out shes a nerd and is cool with it
firefighter is now popular
camping with baku or bakusquad?
miscommunication
kirishima does a big confession
I always start off with the key things i want for sure to happen. then i start adding to it. I write out the scene i definitely want to see or i can see clearly in my head. i just keep adding to it till its at least three pages long of just outline that has some images, random dialogue i want someone to say or little summaries of the scene i want.
its okay to jump around when you write. there are some parts that you know you need in a story to help it move a long but it can be boring. so i write one scene that i want to happen next and then i think of what needs to happen to get to that point. like how in hero another name where kirishima shows up unannounced to her apartment and finds out she hoards all his hero merch while not wearing pants. how do you make that not sound creepy and have kirishima be okay with it? by adding bits of how much of a fan she is through out the story! when they first have dinner together i threw in that red riot shirt to help break the ice and that he would then know that she was a big enough fan to buy his merch and that she admires him and that he is an inspiration for her. then later adding that interview where she talks about how she became his fan shows that she has years of dedication to him as a hero. so when he sees all the merch she has, it would make sense to him that she had all of that and not go “huh, will i be able to leave this place if i enter?”
if you dont know it, look it up. research. i wrote a fic before where the reader was pregnant the entire time, i started at two months to birth. I knew nothing about pregnancy on how it can affect your daily life and what it feels like beyond what health class and child development class taught me. So i looked it up. there is seriously so much that doctors look for during those many ultrasounds cause there are so many things that can affect your health and the baby’s and did you know there is pregnancy diabetes? you can become diabetic only during pregnancy, like after you give birth it can go away or stay, the human body is just tripy. but thanks to that research, people who have had children before left comments going “yessss, i remember feeling that” or “god, this was my sister in this scene, it sucks”. Its that relatability i mentioned before that really helps and it makes the story more believable.
(this is just my personal opinion mainly here feel free to ignore) when it comes to smut, write what you know and not what you fantasize about. im not calling anyone out but i can tell from how someone writes sex that they never had it and they are most likely younger than me. i’ve experimented a lot in my 25 years of life and i find myself going “oh sweetie, thats not how the vagina/anus works” when i read fics sometimes. there are guides online that are very informative and tell you what the feelings are like that you would expect. dont rely on porn too much on how sex works physically, maybe for dialogue. (i think of porn as just live action fanfics for the human mating ritual fandom). its okay to use other smuts as reference tools as well, especially if you dont know anything of the bdsm lifestyle.
beta readers help a lot. if you are unsure of ideas that you have, talk it out with a friend. I sometimes do this for myself or help others with their fics. its actually a lot of fun with a group of people where you just keep shooting off ideas together about stuff and just go all out fangirlling to the point you are rolling on the ground smiling. this can help with writers block or motivate you to keep writing. also having another pair of eyes to look at your fics, not just for corrections but for input on the story can help make it better. someone can see things from a different angle and point stuff out to you, plot holes or things that you can add.
im not sure what else to say other than stuff like format and spacing. sometimes i see people who write too long of paragraphs or there is no clear separation between them. thats killer on the eyes and makes me not want to read at all cause all i see is this wall of text thats just overwhelming. i want to call who ever formatted textbooks cause thats how they do it and it makes it so hard to concentrate on reading and absorbing the info. if i see fics with no clear breaks or long running paragraphs, i usually give up half way cause i just cant do it. its hard to keep track where you are reading and you start trying to focus on it too much that the story is just lost on me. it is hard on people like me who have dyslexia (who ever called it that is just cruel to people who have it cause you can never spell it without spell check and pronouncing it is just ugggh)
i hope this helps

barista!jaemin
inspired by the one and only, puff live!
a/n: this is my first ever fic omg pls spare me with my low writing skills cause ive literally never done this fjskdjdhjdks okay i just love na jaemin periodt. (after writing: ITS VERY JUMPY AND LENGTHY I DIDNT PLAN TO MAKE IT LIKE THIS DJSKJSJSS)
so like your aunt owns a cafe which is in the middle of the city
and you live a lil outside just cause you know, school n shit
you visit her so often cause its a small cafe and it calms you down whenyou need a short break from everything
its weird thats its in the middle of the city but its still calming right?
well okay so like you know those small streets down the neighbourhoods?
the ones you dont really go unless you are rlly feeling adventurous n shit, your aunt’s cafe is in one of those streets
okay longass context down
and at school, you are in a photography club,,, or technically you just learn photography from your teacher after school but its not a whole club extravaganza
just cause your school kinda demands an extra curricular after the first year
but it feels really suffocating to be forced to do smth as a group/with people you arent as familiar with,,,,
so you “signed up” for the smallest club: [photography theory]
it was about time you start doing your hobby-ish thing at school and the tutor was cool with you being practically the only student in the club lmao so everything was going well but
youve never rlly done anything big yourself and your school friends havent pushed you to do smth either
so you were kind of looking to at least take part in one out-of-class project initiated by students maybe
and theres this big school newspaper club/writers’ club,,,, and you find out that they are like !! photographers & stories wanted !!
and you ?? at first but apparently its a project where like students get to submit their fav pic & write a mini article about “your place of comfort
cause the topic of the month is mental health/dealing with stress and the newspaper club wants a students’ view on it, instead of just “meditation” as a topic
then you just have that cafe in your mind like,,, how you would love to shoot the street light shining into the cafe from afar and how calm that place makes you feel,,,
basically you just love your auntie’s cafe lmao
so then you go on about maybe joining it,,, but then you be indecisive cause youve never actually taken a photo professionally you just have a prolonging passion for it,,,
and your teacher is like “y/n idk why you are contemplating no ones gonna judge you just try smth new, go take the chance if you are feeling like it”
we love a supportive johnny, oh yes your english teacher is your photography “club” tutor,,, self proclaimed club
actually there have been many opportunities in the past with taking photos for projects like this one but you just stayed away cause it didnt “motivate” you to take photos for it
so johnny’s words kinda pushed your back n you felt like this was the right thing :))
so then you visit your auntie on the weekends asking maybe if you can take pics & ask her a couple questions about this place
and shes like ofc!! wanna see how you capture this place :))
so then you do this whole process and you submit the article & photos,,,,,
which ends up getting a whole page???
and you are like wh a t
newspaper club: oh you submitted many such pretty pictures & your comment felt very genuine
and you :)) but damn a whole page,,,, you is a lil anxious djskdjdh now the entire schools now going to know you
johnny the hype man teacher: see i told you it was going to turn out nice
and then kaboom, your article lowkey blows up lmao
your auntie is calling you up like “y/n!! so many customers came today!! and a lot of them are wearing the same uniform as you, they must be the students from your school!!”
and shes so happy so you are happy af
but then you remember like,,,, shes never had a part timer,,,,,
and she continues to manage the place by herself after it gets popular among the students,,,,
?? auntie,,, you never take a break ??
shes like maybe ill think about hiring someone?? and you are like, that would be good for you :)) i will be less worried about your health!!
whoop guess who got hired
and after youve had that^ conv, you had constant classes n group projects n shit so you literally had no time,,,
two weeks later, kinda highkey stressed
you decide to go make a quick visit to auntie before going to the library to study
and you peek,,, to see not your auntie,,,,
but a boy??
just standing behind the counter,,, no auntie to be seen but a beautiful boy???
before the opening hours,,,, he?? must be the part timer,,,
and once he notices you by the door,
he just smiles at you,,, so brightly,,,,
wow youve never seen such a pretty face,,,
you actually like forget to open the door you are just staring from outside the cafe,,,,
and he just waves,,, and you snap back to reality like oh shit did i just stare at someone for a solid minute
welp that was embarrassing djkdjdfj
he opens the door for you and goes “hey you must be y/n :))”
“the only person who comes before 9am, thats you isnt it?”
and you just ?¿ confusion??¿
“auntie told me about it :)) hi, nice to meet you, im jaemin!!”
you are still confused but you just shake hands next to the counter,,,
and as you take a seat
jaemin just makes a smol run to the other side and hes like
“you came just in time, i want you to try my latte!!”
jaemin serves a cup of latte with a leaf art
this boy just served a latte first thing after shaking hands i-
you take a sip from the cup
and you are like,,, so auntie hired an experienced boy,,,,
“its really good,,,” it has the same comforting taste you always love
and jaemin just has the biggest smile :)))) you know his smile where the ends just curl in, yes that one
him beaming like that just makes you giggly inside,,,,
you ask him “so uh um im guessing you are the part timer??”
“yes!! i didnt introduce myself properly did i! i started working here two weeks ago :))
ive been coming here for quite a while now so im happy i got the chance!!”
and you ?¿ “ive never seen you here??” you are the most frequent customer youve gotta have seen him before fjsksj
hes like “oh um i always came at 9pm on a friday, after everyone leaves and the whole neighbourhood gets quiet”
you just :o
and come to think of it, you’ve never visited here on a friday night,, cause you know, friday evening is your im not doing anything tonight kinda me time lmao
inside you are kinda happy that someone who knows this place got hired like its a special place to you so
tbh you were kinda anxious even though you trust your aunt,,,,,
and jaemin hurriedly goes “oh and also auntie is taking a break today, shes out to the market so im gonna take over until she returns in the afternoon”
djskdj auntie why didnt she tell you lmao
“im sorry if you needed anything specific from her,,, you should stay for a while until she comes back maybe?”
and you are like,,, “oh that would be great,,, but unfortunately i have to go to the library,,,,”
jaemin: ): he pout
“im so glad you came today tho!! i wanted to see you :) auntie has told so many thing about you”
“wait,, what has she told you,, omg”
apparently shes told jaemin
a) reason why this cafe recently became a popular hideout cafe for students because you wrote a school article bout it
b) that you do photography
c) and that this cafe is your break time so you never study here and auntie loves listening to you talk about school n what not
and then you are like !!
“wait so then you dont go to our school ,,,um are you also a student?”
and you panic a little cause i mean you just met him but you literally know nothing and you mightve assumed things fjsksj
and jaemin tells you “ah yes i go to a hospitality school downtown” “ohh”
and from there he just starts talking about his school and what he studies
he asks you about school but jaemin is extra excited about his hospitality course hes all !! :))!!
and you are so hooked on jaemin talking about his school you forget an hour passes by,,,,
[time to open the cafe]
then the customers start coming in
and you are like “oh sorry ive just bothered you during the preparation time,,,,, it was nice meeting you!! gotta go now :))”
and you rush out cause all you planned to do was give your auntie a little visit
also you dont want to bother jaemin cause its hes gonna handle the place alone for a couple hours
you wave a smol see you soon and
jaemin just does a little chuckle,, and hes like waving so widely fjsksj does he know other people can see him
and thats how your first day with jaemin went
later that day you return home thinking like,,, did you just get so excited to converse with someone who you juSt met,,,
na jaemin’s power
and jaemin on the other hand, is thinking about how beautiful you looked today
just that short while but it made him so happy
hes thinking about you all week uwu
so next week you visit again, expecting to see your auntie
and maybe also that gleaming boy
peeking through before the opening hours
the moment jaemin realises you hes like “y/n!!” what a shining boy
and aunties like “oh y/n right you met him last week when i was out right”
that morning you just talk to auntie about what shes been missing on after you went on a busy week
mind that jaemin is literally just listening to you & auntie talk
and he enjoys it cause you talk so comfortably in front of her :))
you decide to stay the whole day to give yourself a break
which meant you moved to your usual spot by the window
and auntie serving you (free) vanilla latte
you take out your camera and just start adjusting the lenses, trying to find the right frame
customers come and go so you dont get to talk to jaemin a lot that day
but its not like you came here for him,,,, right?¿??¿??
while you were thinking all that
jaemin was asking about you all day like
“so y/n’s favourite is vanilla?”
“does y/n prefer a latte over cappuccino?”
“i want to serve y/n something,,,, what would be the best??”
auntie: how many times did he mention y/n today omg
and as auntie answers
jaemin is thinking like
i wanna see y/n smile
and the entire day your auntie is like !!he :)))))
lmao same auntie same
so when the peak hours finish she goes
“i can take care of everything now, go talk to y/n”
and jaemin just smiles brighter than ever
so when he comes around, you startle
but it puts a smile on your face
because hes brought your favourite cake and just a smiling jaemin in front of you uwu
you both get to know more about each other like
how theres this two boys named chenle & jisung in the preparatory course whom he adores to death
or like
theres this jeno boy whose jokes suck jeno i love you
with a bonus of
you talking about how johnny’s english class is nothing but a comedian’s lesson
so that day went great
and now that you are comfortable
you visit the cafe to talk with jaemin more
even when you have a chill no stress week
it just makes you feel lighter by coming to the cafe now
and your auntie is hella happy that you two are getting along so well
it continues for weeks
just you and jaemin talking from time to time when the peak hours are over or before the cafe opens
you became best pals basically
he encouraged you to join more school projects cause hes sure your photography is worth the chance
you giving him daily support when he feels like he isnt doing the best for his course
sometimes when your aunt had to leave for a couple hours near closing time
you two just stayed there talking for a couple hours giving comfort to each other
late night lattes and cakes
also one time you got so excited from the bestest grades you got you might have hugged him without thinking oops
and one day, jaemin’s friend renjun is there when you come after school
and hes like “hi uh dont mind me im just here a bit because jaemin has to go somewhere after this and i dont want him to be late”
so you just,,, chill as jaemin kinda rushes
and when he goes to the storage room, you just see renjun getting along with the auntie lmao
auntie: “so i got offered this contract with the new type of beans? and idk if i should take it because that would mean i have to go out of the city,,,,”
renjun: “for how long?”
auntie: “two weeks maybe”
renjun: “oh thats fine, dont worry about it. jaemin can take over that. next two weeks right? his mandatory work experience ends this week”
so thats how renjun signed jaemin up to work alone for auntie without his consent
and aunties like “y/n!! it would be so much for just jaemin, you should help him :) your break starts next week right?”
so you also got signed up to this thing
fast forward to first day of break
aka the first time you “work” there
you are nervous and jaemin can feel it
“dont worry y/n, ill do all the talking and coffee, you just have to serve & clean!!”
so you try to calm down a bit
not to mention that you are also nervous cause its only jaemin and you in the room
but then he sees you fumbling with tying the apron and
jaemin says “here, give it, ill do it for you” while smiling a little
and from the back he wraps the apron around your waist,,,
and hes so close to you,,, your heart is fluttering
okay heart stop beating so fast pls thank you
and little do you know,,, jaemin is flushing a bit behind your back,,,
you are both the cutest mess
and you break the silence with a smol
“thanks :))”
trying to contain yourself from screaming
adapting to the serving side & keeping youself busy
you dont realise jaemin is literally admiring you the entire time as you get used to the job,,,,
here and then you forget how close you might be standing next to jaemin,,,
you kinda also realise how rEALLY attractive he looks serving everyone with a huge smile 24/7
and the way some customers are obviously attracted to him,,,,
but what you dont know is he is literally taking this chance to highkey flirt with you lmao
waves (sometimes winks) across the room
causally hovers over you when you cant find/reach smth
beaming the biggest smile every minute he gets to himself
and at first you panicked like ?!????
cause was this jaemin boy holding back for a whole month
is this his nature yes
but it makes you so happy to see him smiling all the time beside you
so jaemin yes its working
you gotta admit tho his flirty-ish behaviour grew on you this entire week djskjssj
a week of giggly smiles uwu
but the week after was unexpectedly the busiest of the busiest
you two forgot national holidays collided with the weekends and for some, it was a week off,,,,,,
so the week rushes by so quickly compared to the last one
it kind saved you tho cause your heart cant take more of that flirty behaviour
and finally,
the peak days are over,,,
and you realise its been a while since the cafe was just you,,,, and well jaemin but just no customers
the silence with faint sounds of cups cluttering,,,, you missed it
so then you go sit on the high chair
just admiring jaemin organise the shelves
he starts to prepare a new cup of coffee then realises you smiling at him “were you in awe at how effortless i look right now??”
you chuckle at his remark,,,
(needless to say that your are chuckling to hide how your heart is melting at his smirky smile)
so you twirl a bit shyly,, and avert the gaze to the familiar wood of the counter
asking him “do you remember the day we first saw each other, me sitting here and you serving the latte?”
“ofc, its the day i met an angel”
oh so confidently na jaemin really just said that
you quickly look up at him like !!!?!???!
and thats how he earned a first kiss (or rather a peck) from you
leaning over the counter and pecking you, a whole blushy mess
then comes a clink by the door
you juMp,,,,,,,
oof the customer may or may not have seen you two
you both rush around flushed like a tomato lmao
spending the rest of the day like nothing happened oops
and after the day ends, you two close the cafe
as you starting walking you are caught off guard when
jaemin just takes your hand,,,
“look y/n!! the stars are so pretty!!”
and starts swinging your arm like a tall child,,,
your heart is skippingnsjsjsjs
then at the corner, jaemin turns around and goes
“this is actually the place i first saw you”
and you ??¿?¿¿
“i saw you taking the photo of this night light shining into the cafe”
still hand in hand, jaemin steps a little closer
and takes his free hand to cup your face, kissing you,,,,
you smile into him as he kisses so softly, thinking
maybe the day i took that photo was a friday night
and melting into the kiss, you really think you are dreaming,,,,,
under the lights you once wished capturing a sparkling moment with the cafe in the back
its now you and jaemin in the frame,,,,
the boy who had you forgetting to breathe a month ago
whos now serving your favourite latte with a bonus of pecks on the cheek,,,,, (maybe on the lips if theres no one watching)
anyways
jaemin brings light to your life and you have never been this happy until you met him uwu
and it goes both ways, jaemin cant live without you now,,,, you are the best thing thats ever happened to him
(thank the heavens & your auntie)
oh and also johnny for pushing you to submit that article lmao plus huang renjun for that involuntary sign up

Under the Stars
Genre: Romance, Fluff
Plot: You are a writer, sent by the company on a holiday after recently releasing a best-seller. You are sent to France to unwind but you bumped into Sehyoon, a famous kpop artist trying to run away from the paparazzi and his glamorous life.
Under the Stars 1: You are given your holiday and set off to France. Upon your arrival, you went to a cafe and suddenly a stranger hugs you.
~
"Congratulations, y/n!" your boss exclaims as you enter your workplace. "Your book is yet again another best-seller. How do you come up with such amazing stories?"
You smile shyly, "Thank you, sir. It's what I love to do." You try to make your way to your office but your boss stops you.
"Where do you think you're going?" he asks with a smile. "As a reward for another best-selling book, the company has decided to give you a holiday! You'll be going to France this weekend." You look at your boss for a full minute before registering what he just said. "Hello? Did you hear me? Youre going to France this weekend. The company shall be paying for your trip."
You give your boss the biggest smile and hug him. "Really? Thank you so much, sir!" He hugs you back and excuses himself.
It’s been 5 years since you entered this company with the same enthusiasm as you have today. You’ve been writing since you started high school and decided to pursue it as a career. As of now, you have released 4 books which have been well known. Although the career is amazing as it is, the downside is you never really get to socialize as much since your job takes all of your time. Maybe coffee time with close friends but like going to bars or having dates is never an opportunity for you.
"I heard somebody is going to France this weekend!" your best friend and co-worker Dani exclaims as she sees you settling in your office. "So finally gonna stir up some romance for yourself?"
You laugh. "You, out of all people, should know Im not in the mood for romance. I will be there for the great coffee, amazing sceneries, cute outfits, and mouth-watering pastries."
"Seriously? No romance at all? You'll be visiting Paris as well, the freaking city of love." Dani said. "Plus, I got you something." She then places a box on your desk.
"Aww, you shouldn't have!" You reply back. You open the box and inside was a small black dress with spaghetti straps--- a little too sexy for your liking. "Youre trying to get me have a boyfriend."
"Oh come on, y/n. You are such a gorgeous person so I know a couple of guys will notice you in that dress. Who knows? It might come in handy." Dani responds with a wink.
"No thank you." You respond immediately.
"Awww, give it a chance. Just bring it! Youre not going to lose anything if you bring that along with you." Dani pleads. You sigh and just nod, putting the black dress in the box. "I knew you'd give in. After all, it is a petite dress! Bonjour mademoiselle!" You laugh at Dani's accent.
"Don't you have any work to do?" You ask.
"Well, I had to give you the dress and congratulate you as well. Plus, remember that kpop group I told you about?" Dani asks. You immediately remembered that these couple of months your best friend has been obsessed with this kpop group named A.C.E.
"Yeah, A.C.E. What about them?" You respond while arranging some files on your desk.
"Well, one of the members, Sehyoon suddenly ran away and it is believed that he is in France. The poor cinnamon bun must be having a holiday." Dani says.
"And that concerns me in what way?" You reply. You actually know the group and you're familiar which each member but you don't have the time like Dani to be as obsessed.
"Y/n! What if you happen to meet him? You totally need to take a picture of him or get his signature!" Dani responds with excitement. "You need to do that for me."
"That is if I find him. The odds are from slim to none. He might be in a fancy hotel for all I know plus he might not want fans finding him since he ran away for a holiday there. The least I want to do is make him think Im gushing over him." You reply.
"You can say it's for me. Please?" Dani pleads.
"Fine, that is if I find him there. Go to work, the boss might find you here." You respond, defeated.
"Yes! I love you, y/n! See you later." Dani responds with a big smile on her face.
Hours past by, you were able to write drafts for your upcoming stories but nothing seemed to be right. You were just probably drained from your last story and more focused on your upcoming holiday this weekend. You stretch and give a sigh of relief. You look at your watch and see that it's already time to go home. You stand up and fix your things then timed out.
On your way home, you stopped by a local chicken place and bought a bucket for yourself. As you enter your house, you sit down and start munching on the chicken you bought.
After eating, you try to take out some clothes and necessities you'll be bringing for your holiday. You check what weather it is currently in France so that you’d have a heads up on what type of clothes you’ll pack. It is currently Spring in France and the it is the best time to travel having a pleasant temperature and a slight chance of raindrop. You take some shirts, pants, shorts, a couple of hats, and the black dress Dani gave.
****
Fast forward to the weekend, you are currently in the airport. You check your phone for any messages form your company or friends but there seemed to be none.
“Flight #206 headed for France is ready. Passengers please go to your designated terminal.Thank you.“ the announcer suddenly says. You see some people heading towards the same terminal as you.
As you settle in your seat, you take out your writing notebook. It is a notebook where you write drafts or prompts you have for your next stories. Although the notebook is right in from of you, no ideas come out of you and you just decide to set your notebook aside.
You decide to close your eyes and sleep for the rest of the trip.
****
“Madam?” you hear a faint voice whilst feeling someone shake you.”We have arrived in France.”
You jolt up but still feel sleepy. You give the stewardess a faint smile and mouth a ‘thank you’ to her which she responded with a smile as well. You rub your head and stretch before standing up and seeing that half of the passengers are taking their bags.
Getting out of the airport seemed fast and you suddenly had a craving for some pastry and coffee. You ask a local which is the nearest cafe to head to and they (thankfully) understood what you meant. You thank them before settling in a cab and telling them the name of the nearby cafe. The cafe was named ‘étoile’ which meant star which you find quite weird for a cafe name.
In 20 minutes, you arrived at the said cafe and saw how beautiful the structure was. The name of the cafe was on a sign written in neat calligraphy. The cafe had plants around and the vibe of the place was comfy. You enter the cafe making a little bell noise and the person in the cashier sees you.
“Bonjour Mademoiselle!” she cheerfully greets. ”Est-ce que tu parles français?”
“Uh...” You understood that the idea she was trying to portray was do you understand french. “No, I speak english.”
“Ah, you’re a foreigner. Welcome to Cafe étoile, do not worry. I can speak and understand english.” she greets. “Im Antoinette.”
“I’m y/n. Thank god you speak english.” you respond while looking around.
“I understand that feeling. I used to be like you when I first arrived here but when I met my husband, I was able to understand and appreciate the language more.” she responds. “What would you like? I can guide you through the menu. My husband makes the drinks and food here.”
Antoinette looked like she was in her late 20′s. She wore her hair in a ponytail and wore a striped long sleeve that complimented her skirt. She had dark brown eyes that complemented her dark brown hair as well.
“I’d like a croissant and just a brewed coffee.” you reply while getting your wallet form your purse.
“No need, y/n. Its free for you since I can see your luggage and everything. Take it as a welcome gift. I hope you enjoy your trip here in France.” she says. You smile and she returns the smile as well. “I’ll serve your order in 5 minutes.”
“Merci.(thank you)” you reply and go out of the cafe since you seem to like the seats outside. It isn’t as hot outside as it is in your hometown.
You sit and take out your notebook. Although you’re on holiday, you still think of work because what else is there to think about? Few minutes later, Antoinette comes out and serves you your order which smells incredibly delicious. She heads in afterwards.
You then start drafting some prompts for future stories. France was beautiful with tourists around and you imagined how beautiful it will be if it was night time. As you get lost in your thoughts, you suddenly notice someone running towards the cafe--a boy wearing a hoodie and a mask on their face. ‘He might be an idol but what are the odds? Or maybe just some tourist’
You look at your watch and realize you must head towards your hotel right now. You take one big bite of your croissant and drink of what is remaining in your coffee. As you stand up, a boy suddenly stands in front of you.
“Uh, yes?” you reply to break the awkward silence. ‘He might be a local but he doesnt seem to know the way.’ you thought.
Out of nowhere he hugs you. A plot twist to your seemingly peaceful trip to France.

college! minhyung
a/n; inspired by a series of unfortunate events that happened to yours truly, and it’s my first time writing a college au so please enjoy:’)
major: music and audio tech
mark really liked music and making music so when he heard there was a course for it he immediately signed himself up for that
and he’s in the school’s dance club,, a very underrated dancer
tbh he partially got in because of his looks
also an underrated visual in nct
but mostly because this boy got those sick moves and he does music too?? yes please
i’m not saying that he’s the campus hottie but that’s exactly what i’m saying
but he’s really low-key and just wants to pursue his passion in music
and do well
you and mark met through this thing where you get admitted early into a course you like
you,, chose communications and media management or mass communications, as you would like to call it(i shall refer it to cmm)
and mark was there for the early admission exercise too because he had it as a backup if he couldn’t get into music and audio tech
at first the whole room was super tense because,, cmm is fiercely competitive
and you needed more than just language to get through this whole thing
when you arrived, you took a seat at the back because,, isn’t that what students do
and then mark came into the room like a really awkward bean
literally bows to everyone while saying excuse me
and he takes his seat beside you(!!)
you were lowkey screaming because,, why would someone as hot as mark sit beside you,, an average girl who just wants to get into the damn course
and your school didn’t had guys like that
let’s take a moment to imagine mark in casual clothes, like that red lacoste polo tee and ripped jeans and black vans and a kanken?? did that made your heart race? because it made my heart do just that
ya’ll know exactly which pic im referring to
so you decided not to be a chicken and make friends w him
“i’m really nervous,, i’ve yet to internalize my script for the screen test later”
“same,, i’m more worried for the written test tbh” with that shy smile of his
ok b4 we move on there are 3 components of your early admission exercise thing
1. written test 2. screen test 3. interview
and basically you have to go through all of that lmao
ok let’s get back to the story
“i’m sure you’ll do well, uhm..”
“mark”
“mark, yep”
“and you’re?”
“y/n”
“that’s a pretty name ^^”
you swore your heart dropped
fast forward to the interview, you and mark were in the same group
and the damn lecturers had their radar on you bc wow reader you’re a catch
“so y/n, we saw that you write fiction in your portfolio, right?”
you broke into a sweat bc they ain’t gonna reveal that you write fanfictions in front of mark
“yeah i do”
“so could you please come up with a plot and characters for a current affair you know?”
you were pretty shook because fanfic ideas only hit you when it’s the right time(ff writers do you feel me)
so you were stuttering,
“i lost my childhood friend in a tsunami??”
and the lecturers literally cracked up at your idea
but they couldn’t blame you though, its hard to come up with an answer on the spot
at the end of the interview, mark was also lowkey cracking up
“omg i can’t believe you said that y/n, but i gotta admit it was pretty creative”
“i know right, why did i say that…”
“i thought it was really creative and different though, i liked it”
there goes your heart
fastforward to the beginning of the school term
mark and you exchanged numbers on that day and when you guys received the results of the posting he wasn’t in cmm but music and audio tech
tbh you were rlly happy for him bc you guys were convenient friends from that day on and he was so excited and passionate about making music its just so so heartwarming
and well, the first assignment the lecturer gave was about a collaboration?? article
it can be between any student as long as its a different major
and it applies to every student on campus gdi
so the first person that came to your mind was mark
so after your lecture you ran straight to the block mark’s lecture hall was at
and as soon his lecture ended you ran up to mark who was busy chatting with his newfound friends
“mark! did you get the collaboration assignment?”
“yeah i did, why?”
“c-can i collab with you?”
and all his friends were all stunned like,, why is this girl suddenly coming up to mark to collab
“s-sure, why not?” with the mark giggle, you know what i’m talking about
“good, i’ll see you soon then,” you winked, leaving mark dumbstruck
and when you left your heart was leaping out of your chest and you mentally slapped yourself for winking at mark
anyhow, you and mark would meet up every other day to work on the assignment, with mark as your protagonist of your article
and mark makes a music piece, as you take part in producing the music piece
but the song is actually about you!!
basically mark talks about what he learns in the course, like making music and stuff
he also plays the guitar which is a plus
whilst you guys were collabing
mark gained attention for his insanely good looks, which he often denied and pushes the campus hottie title to taeyong,, his senior
and also his music making and lyric writing talent
have you seen his rap freestyle in snowball project??? like how did you even mark lee
and you gained attention for your writing, one of the top cmm students in school with a bright personality and media sense
and rumour goes around the campus that the best students of both majors are collabing and are already scoring those As lmao
that rumour was true and everyone was looking forward to the finished products of the geniuses of the school
while you two were collabing you two got to know more about each other
and you know,, you,, like,, like,, each other its so cute
you two keep sending signals to one another
for mark its adding smileys to his texts and a few hearts and like holding the door when you enter the recording studio and all those gentlemanly stuff ugh so sweet
for you,, its just more affection and skinship and playful slaps on the shoulder
the rest of the school; “pLEASE DATE ALREADY”
both of your friends literally could sense those signals but the both of you couldn’t
so on the last day of doing the assignment you and mark would show each other’s completed assignment
you showed mark your article of him, alongside with a candid picture of him working on the music you took secretly
“omg y/n,, this is so good, thank you so much”
“you’re welcome mark,, it’s nothing,, really”
and mark showed you his finished music piece and you were so proud of him because the song actually sounded legit and not by a college student
after the music ended, mark looked at you seriously and started fiddling with his hands
“you know,, y/n,, i’ve been wanting to tell you this in the longest time…”
“what is it?”
“that,, i really like you,, since the d-day we met, i really like how you are so passionate about writing and stuff… and how pretty you are and…”
“i like you too, mark, i really really like you”
and the you two hug and boom youre dating aAAAA so cute
dating college!mark would be the softest thing ever
he would memorise your favourite drink and buy it for you every morning without fail
you reckon mark would be broke by the end of the year from buying your favourite white chocolate mocha from starbucks every morning lol
and wait outside the girls’ dorm for you
and the main point is he looks good while waiting for you that sometimes you come down a lil later to just take candid pics of him waiting for you LOL
if mark’s lectures end earlier than yours, he would wait for you outside your lecture room like omg sweetest boyfriend ever
basically you guys are like inseperable
but he’s a lil shy with the pda during the first steps of the r/s so expect loads of blushy mark
but when he’s warmed up to it he’s like the clingiest baby ever
he does give you space tho,, which youre thankful for
and when he stays up too late to do his music assignment you would creep into the studio to bring him some snacks and coffee
and make sure he gets sleep because this boy can’t be stopped unless youre around
you joined the dance club soon after he joined an like you two are the literal power couple with the visuals and talents just,,, debut together please
when ya’ll did 1million dance studio’s All I Wanna Do choreography iT WAS LIT AND SLAYING EVERYONE WAS CHEERING
mark is generally rlly shy with compliments so you always compliment him so that people dont take advantage of his humility if that makes sense
like there was once he had a group project and je did most of the work and everyone was like “mark you did all the work!! this isnt a group project”
mark was like no omg my teammates did the work too
and his jackass teammate was like “oh mark only did half of the work and we did the most”
you were ready to fight that asshole and mark had to literally hold you back
mark really likes it when you steal his hoodies and wear it to lectures bc you look so cute in them
and his graphic tees too this boy has gr8 fashion ngl
when the break rolls around you guys would go cafe hopping and eat till your stomachs were almost exploding
and also shopping for clothes and all that
mark was willing to be your human guinea pig when you buy makeup when your hand runs out of space for swatches
and when its time to pay mark just shoves his credit card to the cashier and youre like
“mark youre gonna be so broke thats $128 worth of makeup”
and you pouting and mark had to use his fingers to lift your lips up into a smile
“you’ve done so much for me for just being my girlfriend, babe, just let me pay for it this once”
and it was the 34th time he paid lmao
anyhow dating!college mark is all pure and fluffy and innocent
please give mark lots of love

Hi I was going through the Jaylos tag and saw your post, if you feel up to it would you mind writing my prompt? My prompt is : Jay and Carlos have been together for a long time and have adopted a child and now they are going back to the isle so the "grandparents" can know/meet them. I was wondering what nerves would they have? Especially Carlos with how badly his mother treated him in the past?
(THIS IS ACTUALY MY FIRST EVER ASK AND PROMPT SO THANK YOU, hopefully i can figure out how to respond [hopefully im doing it right])Writer Notes: So i decided to do a sort of prequel to this prompt. I really love it and its an interesting concept, one that ive actually thought a lot about this a lot (minus the kid). If you enjoy the way the story is going just send me an ask to continue and id be happy to. BTW im really bad at picking names so while i was writing i just wrote *insert name* when i was mentioning the kids name so i apologize if his name seems out of context. Also i suck at writing even though i love doing it so sorry in advance. But with out further a due…..
GRANDPARENTS part 1/(?)
It’s been 15 years since they were off the Isle. None of them have thought of going back, thought they finally put that place being them. The rotten four were now living together with a new addition to the family, Jaden, Jay’s and Carlos’ son. Though the four of them raised him together it was Jay’s and Carlos’ who decided they were ready to further their relationship by having a child, asking Evie to be a sergeant. Jaden loved having two moms and two dad, he always got more toy than the other kids in daycare did and because of how cool his parents where he knew things that the other kids didn’t, like how to pickpocket some. Jay taught him that on his 4th birthday, much to Carlos’ annoying not only did he have to deal with his husband sneaking things out his pocket but now he had a kid who would steal his phone to play games on. Carlos always knew he was picking his pocket but never had the heart to tell him, he hated seeing his son upset. Which is why when Jaden comes home from school one day a little less happy Carlos was the first to catch on to it. “Hey kiddo, how was school today?” Carlos said as Jaden and Jay walked through the front door and into the dining room. Before Jay went to the kitchen to grab some food after kissing Carlos on the cheek. “It..was okay.”he responded with a notable pause before sitting down at the table to start his homework. “Oh, really? Just ‘okay’? What did you do today?” Noticing something wrong Carlos got up and moved to sit next to his son at the table. There was a pause before the kid responded, noticeably trying to focus on the homework in front of him, when did first grade start sending home math problems??
“Yeah. It was okay.” Jaden finally responded not looking up from the paper in front of him, “We had to make a family tree today. Mine was smaller than the other kids, since I only have two moms and two dads. Other kids have a bunch of people in there family.”
Carlos felt a lump in his throat he new where this conversation was headed, luckily Jay had came back to join them. He knew that one of Carlos’ fears about parenting was that they would turn out to be like their parents. Mal shared the same concern, not trusting her own bad nature around young kids. Evie had soon reminded them that they were nothing like their parents, at least not any more. They all knew this but it was still a fear that haunted them.
“Well how did having a small family make you feel?” Carlos said as Jay sat down next to him at the table slowly coming to realize what they were talking about. “I like having a small family.” Jaden said with a cheerful grin, “Just.. the other kids were talking about how their grandparents would take them out and spend time with them. I just kind of wish I met my grandparents, even if they aren’t the best people. Maybe they would want to spend time with me too.” he finished starting to put his books away. Jay gripped Carlos’ thigh under the table seeing the noticeable sadness in his face. They were starting to regret having a kid who started reading at 4. It was too early for him to be able to express these kinds of emotions. Though, kids at the age of 6 often did envy the other kids around them. Especially when their family isn’t the most nuclear.
As Jaden left the dining room Jay and Carlos knew they needed to have a talk about the conversation they just had. “What are we going to do about this?” Jay was the first to speak up, attempting to prevent Carlos of reverting to his old habits of internalizing all of his emotions.
“Lets just wait for the girls to come home. We need to talk about this together.” Carlos said looking up to meet Jays eye, “I think it’s time to tell him about them. It might be time to go home.” With that Carlos got out of his chair and headed into the living room, and began to clean.
———–
A few hours later Mal and Evie walked into the house together. Carlos was curled up on the couch in Jay’s arms, they had finally gotten Lil Jay to sleep and were relaxing. “Hey losers.” Mal said before kissing both of them on the cheek and sitting down next to Carlos. Carlos sat up from his position on Jay just as Evie planted herself in the love seat that was perpendicular to the couch, not caring to ‘sit like a lady’. “We need to talk about our son.” Carlos said not wasting any time. All the faces in the room dropped immediately as they all got up and went to the dining room. They had decided early on that when it came time to make important decisions that they would all sit together at the table and talk about it this way all of them would be forced to face the problem rather than running from it like their teenage selves did.
“So is someone gonna tell us what happened?” Evie said not bothering to wait til they were seated. She knew by her friends expressions that nothing had happened to him but their looks also told her it was something to be worried about, so she was.
“He asked about our parents. He wants to meet them, or at least wishes that he could have.” Jay says knowing Carlos, while often very vocal, didn’t have it in him to talk.
Mal’s and Evie’s faces both went stern. “What do you mean he asked about them?” Mal questioned with a hint of aggression.
“In school they were doing a family tree. Which lead to some of the children telling stories about their grandparents.” Jay said not bothering to go into much detail knowing the girls were smart enough to figure the rest out. The room fell silent. None of them knew what to say. On one hand they could just reassure their son that he’s better off not knowing his grandparents, or they could actually tell their son about them and risk him wanting to know more. With many other VKs coming over from the isle it wasn’t hard telling Jaden that they too were born over there, but neither of them went into details about what happened on the isle. But with a father that has the last name DeVil and your mothering saving the kingdom from her your grandmother it wasn’t hard to figure out who exactly your parents were related to. This was often enough for him not to ask many questions, he knew his grandparents were evil and that his parents and other kids came to Auradon because they didn’t want to be. ‘Goddamn school always ruining everything.’ Jay thought to himself, waiting for someone to break the silence. “I think we should tell him about them. About what they did.” Carlos spoke up, “And if he still wants to meet them than we take him over there.” The others looked at him in shock not expecting that solution to come out of his mouth. “But C, do you really think it’s a good idea to expose him to that?” Evie said sitting up in her seat and leaning her body on the table. “He deserves to know his roots. It isn’t like he’ll have to grow up there, we’ll be there with him. None of us have went soft while being in Auridon, hell Mal works out twice a week. And the kid already knows how to sword fight.” Carlos said with agitation in his voice, “It’s the worse case scenario any way. I just wonder if we’re ready to stop running and finally face our parents.”
Another pause. They all new they weren’t but that they needed to. They were 32 years old and still found themselves waking up from nightmares and having panic attacks in the supermarket. When they first came off the isle and defeated Maleficent all they did was run after that. Even when they went to save Ben from Uma, who was now a close friend, they did whatever it took to avoid their parents, all except for Mal of course. Til this day the four of them wondered how their parents would react to seeing them again. Would Jafar still try to make Jay steal for him or would he just attack him. Does Evil Queen still care if Evie doesn’t have a prince? How would she react to knowing that instead of a prince she had a wife, and he two best friends? Would Cruella still expect Carlos to look after her furs? Would she attempt to take advantage of Jaden? Another one of Carlos’ fears, his son being subjected to Cruella’s torture. He couldn’t count how many times he woke up from a dream where he was unable to save the boy from that fate. These were the worse nights. “I agree with Carlos” Mal spoke up, reaching a reassuring hand out to the previously names boy. “It’s time. I know I no longer have to worry about my mother, since she died in lizard form a few years ago, but it still something that we need to deal with. Whether or not we decide to take Jaden to the isle we should talk to him about them, and take a visit there ourselves. You guys deserve closure. Besides we’re adults now and their old people. We have each other and could easily kick their asses.” With this the group laughed all silently agreeing. They sat there for a few hours discussing how they were going to address this to their son. They would be exposing him to years of their person torture. This both made them scared it would scar him and change his perception of them. Hopefully he wouldn’t want to meet them, but if he did they were ready for it. Or where they…

errica Benton awoke to the sound of short waves breaking against smooth rocks on the Pier 6 Pavilion. She yawned and flounced her hair, balancing out the streams of Starburst and Carnation extensions tangled together after last night’s impromptu pillow fight with her bandmates; Kimber, Aja, and Rayna collectively known as, The Holograms. The day before, Jerrica as her alter ego, Jem, performed at the pavilion with her band and was now spending the weekend held up in the Ritz-Carlton Estates, occupying the penthouse condos previously inhabited by bestselling book writer, Tom Clancy. Jerrica slinked out of the Queen sized bed careful not to disturb the other inhabitants; she stood in bay window overlooking the harbor replaying sections of last night’s show in her head. She was pleased with the laser and smoke filled spectacle and decided to reward herself with a bump of “Bolivian Marching Powder”. A small yet non-committal indulgence she picked up in Central America while fighting for the rights of migrant farmers and plantation worker in the Coca Fields of Ecuador. Jerrica looked over at the bed intent on waking her posse to start the day and use her bump to its fullest advantage. However, the bed was empty. She checked the bedside alarm clock, it was noon, far later than she hoped but still enough time to get her life in the Charm City. She ruffled the sheets and thought to herself; “They must have gotten up early and hit up Blue Moon for brunch. I hope they bring me back an order of Captain Crunch French Toast. I wonder if the French know about French Toast; Do the French get royalties every time someone says French Toast? Oh my God, Do I owe the French Money for saying French Toast a million times? O.k. if I stop saying French Toast now maybe my debt won’t be so high. Where are these bitches?” Jerrica reached under the bed and pulled out a designer high heel shoe; from it, she retrieved a small Silver Star shaped earring. She pressed the amulet into her lobe and gave it a tug; a familiar cybernetic voice filled the palatial waterfront estate. “Hello, Jerrica.” “Hey, Synergy; incredible show last night, you almost surged the power grid, though. Be careful with your use of light balance next time, we almost left the city in complete darkness.” “As if Baltimore isn’t already dark enough,” Bantered Synergy. “Excuse me?” Jem perplexed. “The temped climate change due to excessive humidity in the area causes an extended amount of overcast in the mid-Atlantic region thereby blocking out the sun throughout large portions of the day. What did you think I meant.” “That, I thought you meant that, and I was right, because I’m good at Meteorology.”
“Jerrica, I’m afraid there has been a bit of a kerfuffle.” “Yeah, I know, The Holograms rolled out and got brunch without me. Don’t these heifers know who they came here with? I mean I do two things when I’m out on tour; I shut down shows and I open up brunches, I mean I put the “B” in Bellini. “My life is so odd right now and I guess that’s why I just can’t even.” “Jerrica, I assure you, the holograms are not at brunch. They have been kidnapped by an unknown assailant and jettisoned off to Hunger Island as tribute to, Katniss Everdean.” “What the flip?” “She heard about the “Jem movie” and is intent on sabotaging the property. She plans on force feeding the girls and killing them with calories.” “It’s just a movie we can all premier at the Cineplex and fill seats. Nothing wrong with little friendly competition.” “That’s just it, Jerrica, Katniss mind has been so warped by the Hunger Games tributes that she now views any form of competition as a mortal threat. Anything she views as an impediment to her success, she must destroy.” “Katniss Everdean must be stopped. I have to save my friends, but how am I supposed to save my girls without the help of my girls?” “Not to worry, Jerrica, I’ve called in some backup to aid you on your mission.” “Well don’t be shy, tell me who it is, ooh is it the Battle Beasts? Is it Action Man? He’s so macho. He makes my queso ooze. “Actually, Jerrica, you’ll be receiving support from you old adversaries, The Misfits.” “The Misfits, why them, they don’t have a horse in this race?” “Actually, it was Roxy who proposed the team up; she’s still indebted to Ban-Nee for teaching her how to read. That and Stormer teamed up with your sister Kimber some time ago and released an album. Pitchfork gave it an 8 of 10.” “I don’t read Pitchfork; the writing is a bit too bloated for my taste. They tend to write as if their review is far more important that its subject matter and that turns me off.” “Jerrica, even the group’s leader, Pizzazz is committed to the cause. Although she doesn’t particularly care for you, she seems to harbor an even deeper animosity toward Katniss.”
“That’s all well and good, but I’m not sure I feel comfortable teaming up with the Misfits. They think their songs are better than mine.” “Oh, Darling, Jem, their songs are better, but you are far more glamorous, and your glamour makes you; truly, truly, truly …OUTRAEGOUS! “Now Jerrica you must morph into Jem, team up with the Misfits; fly to Hunger Island, and save your friends from Trans fatty fatality. Are you ready?” “Send all my calls direct to voice mail, I gotta go rescue my bitches.” Jerrica gives her amulet another brisk swipe, her body emits pulsing neon light as luminous as a quasar erupting in the Milky Way Pavilion. With her new formed alliance she is Jem and the Misfits, and on this day they will; Taste the Hunger. “I wonder if Eric has anything to do with this; he could be the unknown assailant. He’s always involved in some crazy scheme to sabotage me off the board and steal my half of the Starlight Music Company. I don’t know why he wants this company so bad he doesn’t know anything about music. I guess that doesn’t make him any different than any other music exec.” Jem snickers to herself and rubs her pointer finger across the glass dinner table, and inspects the tiny pearl flakes stuck to her finger tip. “No blow left behind.” She wipes the residue across her gums in anticipation of the Misfits arrival. The penthouse elevator chimes the doors open and out spill its contents; Roxy (Guitar), Jetta (Sax), Stormer (Keytar), and Pizzazz (lead vocals). “Hi girls,” “Don’t say hi to me, Say thank you,” Sneered Pizzazz, the group’s leader and Jem’s mortal adversary. “Thank you” “You got us a lift out to Hunger Island, or do you need us to hold your hand through that too?” Synergy interjects. “G.I. Joe Staff Sargent Roadblock is gonna give you an airlift in the Eagle Hawk Helicopter. He’s on the roof now.” “Wait, let me grab my sunglasses.” “You won’t need sun glasses when you travel with me, because Pizzazz brings plenty shade.” “O.k. well I definitely need to find my phone so I can live tweet what you just said.” “Status updated,” intoned Synergy. The girls ascend the elevator to the roof and are greeted by the decorated officer award winning chef and all around jovial guy: “Roadblock is here and it’s clear to see/ that you need a ride so come along with me/ Put on your seat belt and your parachute/ but you don’t need to wear a helmet cause your hair looks cute/ don’t be a litter bug, girls/ knowledge! “And knowing is half the battle,” Cheered Stormer. The girls all took a Xanax and pretty much slept through the 8 hour helicopter ride to Hunger Island. They conveniently awoke within a two minute eta, enough time to receive landing instructions from Roadblock; Use your parachutes to land after the ride/ when your boots hit the ground you’ll meet your guide/ Good luck on your journey, I’m sure you’ll win/ I hope to see you again/ before we get to Heaven/ I’m a Lutheran ya’ll/ Faith!
The girls floated safely to the ground nestled in a redolent tropical field of lush island frutex. They dumped their shoots, teased their hair, took a few selfies and updated their Instagram accounts. “Made it to the Island in one piece”: Hash Tag; • blessed • free rap concert • free the holograms • roadblock raps like them old heads from the70’s • can’t even believe this island has Wi-Fi • if there’s a Starbucks on this island im staying • My stage name is Pizzazz but My Street Name Is Rohypnol Cause I Stay Knocking Dumb Hoes Out and Fuckin they ass up. • No homo. • I wonder if this island breeds small dogs As the girls tuck their phones away and begin their trek, a soft glow of light beams through the tree tops, intercepting the girls’ slow procession. “Hello, Ladies, I’m actor, writer, director, and now temporal tropical tour guide, Phillip Seymour Hoffman.” “I’m here to guide you, because im featured in the Hunger Games trilogy, so I’m quite familiar with the terrain, and I’m also a blue chip actor usually employed to give mediocre storylines artistic credibility, like the Film, Almost Famous, and the story you’re in right now. “Phillip Seymour Hoffman, you dead right?” asked Jetta. “Yes. I am dead.” “Yeah, I read about you, because I recently learned how to read. They found you in an apartment in Tribeca, right?” quizzes Roxy. “No, it was Chelsea.” Hoffman stated ruefully “You were surrounded by what, like, 50 bags of dope, some shit like that?” “Well, yeah something like that,” he stumbles over his words foolishly. “’50 bags of heroine is a lot of fuckin dope, you buy your shit from Sam’s Club or something?” “Did you think they was gonna stop making dope after they sold you yours.” “Did your dope dealer not have change for a 1000 dollar bill so you just bought it all?” “Alright I get it, I bought too much dope, and obviously I did, because I’m dead now. O.k.? So can we just move on and get this over with please? I’m trying to help you save your friends life!” “I appreciate all the help and everything Phil, I really do, but I just don’t see myself following a fucking junkie through a jungle. Oliver Stone wrote three movie about that shit and none of them end well so I’m gonna respectfully request that you jump back in whatever shallow grave you hopped your pale ass out of cause Pizazz can’t fuck with you, I loved you in Capote, though. Keep your ass moving on through to that other side, baby boy. “ “Oh, my God Pizzazz, he was our only way around the Island, Why did you run him off like that?” “I mean we don’t have a map or anything, we gonna die on this Island like those kids in that book I was supposed to read in middle school, but I didn’t cause I was still illiterate back then” whined Roxy. “That fat jerk was gonna sell us into white slavery the first chance he got. Besides we don’t need no week man telling us where to go and what to do. Shit the island has Wi-Fi. Just pull out your phone go to the google home screen the nearest me browser is gonna pop up. In that search bar put in kidnapping. And boom three kilometers that way. Just then a camouflage Jeep crashes furiously through the bush. The driver adorned with long blond silky trestles’ flowing downs his back and across his German issue naval officer blouse hops rapaciously from the driver’s seat and advances on the girls. “Need a lift old friend?” “Riot?” Jem says pensively. “Jem is it?” Riot says casually. “It is,” she says with obviously inflection. “Or is it Jerrica?” He says haughtily; as he laughs with arrogant conviction. A collective gasp falls over the cluster of girls. Jem is caught off guard and before she has time to deny the claim her face tells a truth her words could no longer hide. “But how,” she asks still shell shocked. I’ve always known who you were Jerrica. Many years ago when you were just a little girl I knew your father. We were inventers and visionaries. We partnered up and created the Synergy technology together. It took many years to complete and during that time I became close to you and your father, you in particular, Jerrica. I took you to the park, I taught you how to ride a bike I helped you with your schoolwork. As you got older my feelings matured into something deeper, more complex, something I could not quite process. At the same time my feeling for you were maturing the Synergy project was also coming to fruition. I was proud of the project and I wanted to share it with the world. The advancements were unlimited, but you father had other plans. He wanted to keep the project secret and use it for more ethical practices whereas I wanted to mine it for its commercial value. We were at an impasse and instead of fighting I left with my half of the research. I kept the telecommunication half and he kept the light manipulation half. “Wendell Wasserman, my dad’s doting assistant, I remember you. You were a kind man, leery, but sweet. You just up and disappeared when I was 14. What happened to you?” I moved back to Austria, sold my half of the Synergy technology to a Japanese mobile communication firm. I got a facelift. I changed my name; started a glam rock band-Pink Lipstick. We had an international top ten hit. Maybe you’ve heard of it…”Walk you home from school” “Walk you home from School, I remember that song. She recites a few bars… I watched you grow up as a baby in your father’s arms Then you grew into a lady and fell under my charms I want to fall into you when I Walk you home from school “Oh my god was that song about me?” “Yes Jerrica, It was about you, it was always about you. I moved back; started a new band-The Stingers, I even grew this luxurious flaxen mane and still you rebuff me at every turn. Well the honeymoon is over baby! I want that Synergy technology and I want it now or you and you friends will die. Just then a righteous arrow pierces the sky. And lands square in the heart of Riot. “Oh shit, I got blood in my succulent hair, and I think I’m dying…nope…I’m dead, yeah, I’m definitely dead. “ “Katniss Everdean” I presume. Hissed Pizzazz. “Was it the bow and the arrow that gave me away?” “I only asked because I could not tell you in person from your movie posters, they make you appear much more, slender, than you really are. I was worried about your health. It’s such a relief to see, in abundance, that your thighs really, do touch.” “Yes, they do, just like my two, Golden Globes.” “Ah, Miss Everdean are you gonna force feed us a ton of carbs? I really don’t want to fuck my diet up.” Stormer asked. “Ah, no that was all that twisted pedophile, Riots plan, he kidnapped me too. He didn’t try anything too direct just a lot of foot baths, finger and toe nail polishing, and he brushed my hair three times a day. When he saw you all flying in he dashed out here and that’s when a nest of Mocking Jays came and loosened me from my bindings. I followed Riot here, and well you saw the rest. Hey you guys wanna watch My Little Pony Friendship is Magic?” “There’s cable and internet on this Island too?!?” squealed Jetta, because it’s been a while since she had a line. “No, well yeah, but, Riot also kidnapped The My Little Pony crew. They’re outback with the Holograms frolicking in a waterfall made of rainbow sprinkles. “ “Oh, my god he was gonna make the girls eat the My Little Ponies, gross.” Conjectured Stormer. “Guy’s I’m sorry I never told you all that I’m both Jem and Jerrica” Pizzazz, finger combed her hair, briskly turning a side eye glance to her arch rival and smirked. “Bitch, we knew.”
