one thing i'm trying to do is fight the urge to reply to comments and explain my entire thought process for doing things lol. i haven't gotten any bad/mean comments! but i'll see ppl theorizing and get the urge to jump in and overexplain exactly what i have planned and i'm like buddy. just hold your tongue. you can just wait and write the actual fic
#i am forcing myself to become comfortable with the idea that everyone interprets things differently#and i feel like overexplaining the thought process behind a fic is like explaining why a joke is funny#if you feel compelled to start elaborating too much on things that either haven't been revealed or are left up to interpretation then#you just gotta zip it!#let people think their thoughts and figure things out on their own#again i haven't gotten any negative comments lol#so no worries there

can you write an elu fic where they have to babysit someone's kid / younger sibling/baby. but they're in the flatshare and it's like, from manon/mika/lisa's point if view and how they're gg be great parents one day?
-----------------------------------
Since the bad break up with Charles, Manon never thought about having kids. One relationship can be hard enough, adding kids might ruin it for her, but it’s not a final decision, it’s just...right now. She needs to take care of herself. It’s been a long process, but she feels like she’s getting somewhere.
Whenever she thought about kids needing babysitters, she never thought Lucas would be a good option. He has too much energy and he would never be able to make a kid want to go to bed or eat healthy food. Maybe that’s why Eliott is with them. He’s a lot calmer, but he still plays and interacts with the little girl.
They live together, but apparently, the flatshare is safer to babysit in. Lucas got there with a huge bag filled with everything a toddler could need: diapers, cloths, pacifiers, etc.
“Do you know how to change diapers?” Lucas asks all of a sudden and Manon looks up to see him, on the floor, playing with the girl and Eliott. He looks so lost and scared, with his eyebrows raised and his lips parted, silently asking to be rescued.
“Are you asking me to change diapers?” She closes her book a little, leaving her phone in between the pages.
“No...it’s just in case of an emergency.” Eliott looks at his boyfriend and smiles, but the girl quickly grabs his hand to get his attention so they can continue to play.
“I’m almost sure the diapers are just for naps, Lucas. She’s not using one now.” Eliott explains as he gets some more paper for them to draw. While the little girl is entertained, Lucas rushes to the kitchen to fill her sippy cup with water. Their bags are still on the floor right next to the door with their shoes, all her toys are sprawled on the floor and the coffee table was moved to the corner so she wouldn’t hurt herself when she ventured out to explore the flat.
Thankfully, Mika is not home or he would complain for days, maybe weeks about it.
Lucas has his own place now, I don’t get why he has to bring this weird little creature here. Manon can ever hear his voice saying it.
She has her own place too, away from Mika’s prying eyes, but she wanted to come here today. It’s cute to see Lucas running around, trying to please the little blonde girl and how Eliott gets along with her, laying on the floor, doodling random animals with her, trying to make her guess what he drew. They’ll be amazing parents if they want to be one day.
Manon opens her book again, but she gets distracted every second, the loud voices and laughter keep distracting her and when she has to read the same sentence for the third time, she gives up, quietly watching the other three on the floor. Lucas apparently tried to draw and Eliott said his drawing looked weird.
So now Lucas is trying to explain what he drew and Eliott is just staring at him, enjoying way too much to see his boyfriend overexplaining himself to a little girl who doesn’t seem to care that much if his drawing makes sense or not.
Later, Lucas is the one to help her eat, he opens his mouth every time she has to do it and he doesn’t even notice. And it’s easier than what they expected, she’s not a picky eater, but she definitely enjoys to watch how Lucas struggles while holding the little fork, how he opens his mouth every time she does it and how he makes sure to clean her plate to give her the last bite.
Eliott is in charge to make her sleep at the right time for her nap. She puts her short arms around his neck and he leans against her, resting his head on top of her, walking around the flat. Lucas is exhausted, sprawled on the couch, but he’s watching Eliott walk around and they exchange a few drunk-in-love smiles and looks.
She sleeps in Eliott’s arms and Lucas is already sleeping on the couch, so Eliott has to sit on the floor, leaning against the couch, talking to Manon for a little. He looks tired, but he’s still smiling. He’s the sweetest guy Manon has ever met. Eliott’s mom and her sister come to pick the baby up and Manon helps him pack all her toys and clothes and Eliott walks down the stairs with the girl still sleeping in his arms.
Lucas is also still sleeping on the couch, but it’s getting late, Mika will probably come home at any time, so while Manon goes to wash the dishes and clean the kitchen, Eliott kneels in front of the couch, kissing Lucas’ neck and his face until he finally starts to move a little, raising his arm to put it around Eliott’s neck.
“Come on, we have to clean up and go home,” Eliott whispers, putting Lucas’ hair behind his ear.
“Where is she?” Lucas moves to his side, looking around the flat, searching for a little girl with just as much energy as him, but that might also need a nap during the afternoons.
“My mom and aunt just came to pick her up. She left hugs and kisses for you.” Manon stops washing the dishes just to watch them. Eliott raises his eyebrows and Lucas closes his eyes, seeming to think about going back to sleep.
“You should have woken me to say goodbye...”
