Considering that Melissa’s primary love language is physical touch and that she has an exhibitionism kink, she is very welcoming of and actively encourages PDA! It’s not even that she does the handholding, kissing and hugging to attract the attention of others - it’s just that she’s intense when she cares for someone, and she needs to show it constantly (even if it is a mean to ground herself, soothe some fears, etc). If people look at her doing it - then fine! It’s either going to be neutral for her or further embolden Melissa to be even more of a gremlin.

In some verses where she’s inserted in a society that tends to frown even more at such displays (such as her Yakuza verse), this is one of the things that explains why relationships tend to be hard for her, as well as why she’s regarded as somewhat of a ‘niche’ hostess. It’s important to note that she can tone this down and she will act in a way that’s respectful of her significant other too - but whoever is her partner should expect or be prepared for the bolder/more public display here and there on certain occasions (sometimes she just cannot resist the temptation).

Because of the two things above, Melissa tends to be the one that flusters others, I’m afraid. Although in most verses she was a more insecure/shyer version when she was younger and prior to getting some experience in her relevant field, a shared characteristic is that she typically deals with people and has a client-facing role in the service industry - which essentially requires Melissa to be very comfortable when talking to clients and prepared to adapt fast to their demands.

She eventually grows to be a very confident individual where her job is concerned - so very little fazes her given everything she’s seen and heard over the years. However, she is not immune to this - precisely because Melissa is so used to have the upper hand and being the dramatic one, having someone who’s usually not the type to resort to such techniques doing it to her will achieve this effect, haha. For example - if Ryuji was to kiss her in public out of his own will? She would blush and blue screen for a minute, and then react once her brain has refreshed and reloaded. Frankly, it’s one of my favorite things to write - I love it when she is surprised and loses control, not going to lie.

i try. i reroll Play With Genetics thru nraas mastercontroller over and over and over until the kids are 1) not clones of either parent and 2) sufficiently unique irt each other. i roll and i roll and i roll. sometimes the portraits of the rolled kid don’t render and i have to guess which features are from which parent. my wrists start to rot away. the ts3 loading cursor burns itself into my retinas. my game threatens to crash and i see my life flash before my eyes, with the ts3 loading cursor over everything. my right wrist straight up breaks. finally, i have sufficient maybe babies. i can hardly see them through the ts3 loading cursors clouding my vision but i know i’ve met my goal.
