the world is staged and the script is set (you cannot change the ending) is a fic based on the ending of TGWDLM where like. you know how in the credits where Emma starts begging the audience for help? and like. you know how in TTO how the audience is also referred to by Bliklotep's title? soooo the fic is the ending but i throw him in the mix and ramp the already existing horror of "begging for help and being ignored a cheering crowd" by going "realizing said crowd has been treating your suffering and death as a source of amusement right before you die". only fun times in hatchetfield

Jukeboxes and Maple Syrup is a fic that takes place directly after the end of Yellow Jacket that focuses on Daniel and Sophia like. right after the ending. we dont really see them after the Otho fight and we still have no clue is Sophia is even ALIVE and also i miss them dearly. the fic mostly focuses on Daniel trying not to have a panic attack in Miss Retros because one friend is missing after almost dying and the other is in the hospital after also almost maybe dying and he doesn't really know what to do. Not a whole lot of plot it's mostly him trying to deal with that whole. mess. luckily he's got Miss Holloway and Duke to make things a bit easier (responsible adults? in MY hatchetfield? its honestly only these two but its better than nothing)

abrubtly matt pulls away, he saw me. his face drops as dani stares at me. my heart thumps as i freeze. matt tries to walk over to me, but its too late, i've already took off in the other direction.

i've found myself in the empty staff bathrooms, hiding in the stalls. matthew wasted my time, i spent half the fucking roadtrip up here comforting him, then he goes and makes out with her a few hours later?

i can't even understand why im feeling like this, why am i so.. jealous?

the door to the bathrooms swing open, probably matt, coming to explain himself.

"hey, come out of the stall please." a female voice calls out, "who's this sorry?" i say, still on the verge of tears.

"danielle."

my breath hitches in my throat, before i swallow hard. "oh." i mumble, unlocking my stall. im met with her face, shes still wearing the same outfit she was wearing while kissing my best friend.

she suddenly interupts my thoughts, "look, i don't know who the fuck you think you are? but don't go snooping into me and matts personal business, unfortunately hes mine." she says while crossing her arms, i scoff.

"funny you say that, because the whole car ride up here matt's been dreading seeing you, his exact words were, 'fucking hate her' so if i were you i'd back away hm?" i say in a 'sympathetic' tone.

she clenches her fist, running her spare hand through her dark brown bob before smashing her fist into the side of my face.

"what the actual fuck!" i yell before jumping at her, throwing her to the floor. the next 5 minutes are a blur of screaming, punching, hair pulling before she gets pulled off of me.

ive been sitting alone in the nurses office for 10 minutes, its now 11:30pm, i have to be awake in 7 hours for breakfast setup.

the door to the room im in swings open.

its matthew.

"y/n, are you okay? i heard what happened" he says frantically, sititng down on the chair beside the medical bed.

"oh please matt, dont act like you care." i mutter out.

"what?" he says cluelessly.

"look, go find out how danielles doing, oh! or you could fuck her while your there, go back to your cabin with her!" i yell, matts eyes widen as he looks at me.

"we aren't sharing a cabin, im with lincoln, shes with paige." he mumbles as he fidgets with his hands.

i laugh out of disbelief before standing up, pushing past him out of the room im in before swinging open the door to the nurses office.

the cold night air hits my fresh wounds as i approach my cabin, the lights are on inside meaning Xavier is still awake. i swing open the door, xaviers face drops "babe what the fuck happened!" he says, running up to me and hugging me, "danielle happened." i sniff as he lets me go.

"you gotta get some rest, we're helping the kids do kayaking tomorrow okay? gotta be up at 6:30." he whispers, as he pulls the covers down on my bed, letting me crawl in.

(6:30am the next day.)

a loud honk blares through the campsite, before jessie on the megaphone starts "shark counsellers! the shark kids are lined up outside the breakfast hall, go help out in the kitchen"

i groan, my face still throbbing from dani's punches. xaivers sits up in the bed opposite me, "you feeling better.." he says, his voice raspy.

i nod, "mhm, not too excited about dealing with about 25 nine year olds." i mumble getting out of bed "you'll be right, theres 6 of us to control them we'll do it." he says optimistically.

i finish up getting changed, tying my hair into two braids. "you coming?" i say, looking at xaiver over my shoulder.

the hall is only a few hundred meters away from the staff cabins, which is now filled with 200 children. matt and lincoln are walking through the doors, dani and paige follow close behind them, too close for my liking.

i step inside, the smell of oatmeal fills my nose as i look around, theres countless tables filled with friend groups, in the back corner matts sitting alone on the last empty table, picking at his dry toast. i sigh loudly before walking over to him, he looks up at me, his eyes are puffy and red, he looks upset.

i sit down opposite him, his breathing picks up before he starts unannouced,

"dani and i.. have hated eachother since middle school. when i saw you get into your cabin with xavier i got fucking jealous. hate to admit it but i did. while i was walking towards my cabin dani approached me, she started touching up on my arms before pulling me off the path into the bushes. she kissed me, i don't know why i kissed her back, i think it was a jealousy thing, i wanted to get back at you?"

he sighs loudly as silence grows.

"look y/n, i really like you, and-" hes cut off by jessie on her fucking megaphone.

"helloooo campers! this is the first official day of summer camp and here are what each group is doing today!, crabs are doing rock climbing, which means it is mandatory to wear closed toe shoes. Sharks will be doing kayaking, please wear your swimsuit and your counsellers will take you down to the lake!"

i barely take in what jessie says, the only thing i'm thinking about is matt's previous sentence

we've been sitting by the lake for a few minutes now, watching the kids attempt to kayak, im wearing a triangle white bikini with daisys printed on it, matt's sitting to my left, his eyes have been on me the whole time.

abrubtly he stands up, looking down at me. "come with me." he demands "huh?"

i stand up anyway, he takes my hand and starts to walk towards a shed, he opens the door and switches on the light. the dim warm lighting fills the room, revealing piles of wetsuits and life jackets.

he turns around and closes the door to the shed, locking it behind him.

he looks me in my eyes, his eyes dart down to my lips. "can i kiss you." matt asks, barely audible.

i gulp before nodding my head.

matt's hand holds my cheek gently before connecting his lips with mine. after a few seconds it turns into a makeout, his veiny hand holding my hair.

he pulls away slowly as his phone lights up, he scrolls through it before letting out a soft laugh "no way" he scoffs, rubbing his eyes.

"tonight were sleeping in the kids hall, like me and you, supervising.."

"you're kidding matt"

"nope, apparently theres a small cabin that connects off the kids hall, its got 1 bed that we share" he laughs

you slump down into the ground of the practice room, tired out of your mind moment they gave you guys a break. not that you hated practice but you’ve been at it for almost 3 hours non-stop and honestly you were near your breaking point. your eyes snap open when you feel your cheeks getting poked, just to see that the culprits were daniela and sophia.

“hey there pretty girl, come on get up you needa hydrate noww” sophia says smoothly, even winking as she talked not minding that she just used a pet name on you. meanwhile your ears that were already tinted red from exhaustion deeped another shade hearing her. they haul you up, sophia arm now flung across your shoulders while daniela snaked her arm around your waist casually and brought you to the side giving you a cold water bottle.

you gulp down the bottle quickly, thirst overcoming you not that you were totally flustered by daniela and sophia clinginess. then sophia took the now empty bottle to throw as daniela turned to you after her convo with manon, gently grabbing your chin and turning your face toward her then wiped the water that was left on your lips. you hid you face immediately, embarrassed while daniela giggled stroking your hair softly.

“awh sorry darling, that too much?” she whispered to you, as she wrapped you up in her arms to comfort you. you nod as looked up at her pouting. she laughed again, blowing a kiss to you as an apology. you cross your arms, still pouting telling her to stop teasing you already.

“ayyy dani what did u do to our princess here to get her pouting like that here ill scold dani for u princess” sophia asks as she slides beside you well daniela technically since you were on her lap. you punch sophia softly telling her to stop with the pet names as it was driving you crazy.

after dani finished the both of them came to you, immediately staring to come too close barely having any space between the three of you. you instantly start blushing as you feel their heat seeping into your body from how close they were. you shake your head trying to cover your face with your bangs only to have sophia tuck them behind you ears as she stared at you.

“need help pretty? we done with the rest of the prep” dani coos at you as she snuggles closer, trailing her fingers down your arm to grab the knife you were using. sophia nudges you with her hip to take the knife from dani.

“go watch the broth w dani ill finish up the rest princess and dani dont jst grab it frm her, you cld hav dropped it on her uk?” sophia shoos the two of you away as she blows a small kiss then started to chop the rest of the ingredients. dani then pulls you to the stove, stirring the broth as she starts asking how your day was. after, she leans against the countertop, attentively listening to you talk adding her reaction here and there as she plays with your hands. you sigh appreciatively as dani starts to massage your hands and making her way up your arm.

all of a sudden, you feel a pair of arms wrapping tightly around your waist, propelling you forward and grabbing onto dani to stable yourself.

then…the rest of the members bust into the kitchen whining about their hunger. and well… only to find you sandwiched between dani and sophia against the kitchen counter. “OH MY GOD. YOU GUYS WERE SUPPOSED TO COOK NOT FLIRT IN THE KITCHEN I CANT BELIEVE YOU GUYS!!!” manon screamed while laughing hysterically at the three of you. once again you buried your face in your hands, embarrassed about the situation you were just caught in.

hes dany’s husband in meereen he’s kind of a pathetic fop. heavily implied to be the harpy’s chosen puppet to seduce dany away from her morals and towards their aims by being handsome and niceys and seeming really harmless and although this basically doesnt work (she thinks hes attractive but doesnt trust him) she marries him anyway because she gets manoeuvred into a corner. he also bought huge cheap shares in the fighting pits after dany closed them then successfully got her to reopen them as a wedding gift. while his financial motive in this seems obvious theres then a line about him being visibly aroused seeing a woman get eaten by a dragon in the pits which kind of recontextualises why he was so eager to get the bloodsports back on. that + obviously it furthers the interests of the harpy to overturn danys reforms and walk her back towards slavery in meereen. after dany leaves he immediately drops the niceys thing starts threatening to have her child hostages whipped if they dont refill his cup fast enough + also he made all his guards pro-wrestler gimmicky fighting pit guys because every other military power in the city hates him. he gets framed for attempted murder and deposed in about two weeks

im just gonna go right in and say it: some house of the dragon characters are unoriginal and lazy, and it pisses me tf off. im sick and tired of seeing the same oc regurgitated in this fandom bc istg half of these hotd ocs are literally just daenerys targaryen thrown back in time under a different name.

i usually dont care abt fanfic because its fanfic. nothing i can do, its probably some child having fun, but like i said im just TIRED of looking through hotd fanfics and seeing daenerys pop up as a faceclaim, and then going on to see that half (or all) of dany’s entire character is put into an oc with little to no actual originality if this makes sense.

before i get into this, what the fuck happened to the originality in original character? like genuinely? this is mainly abt one oc i legit just saw like an hour ago off of tiktok bc but still this applies to the daenerys knockoffs i (regularly) see and cry abt like my grown ass should not care but i do!!!!

starting off, the oc’s name is daenera. cool! fine! she’s not a daughter of rhaenyra which is a slay, but is a daughter of alicent and viserys which eh, good enough. we go on to find out that for some reason vizzy t and ali hate her, and at age 16 they decide to ship her off to pentos so she can marry a dothraki warlord. im not even joking. aside from that, she’s in pentos for a year, and comes back with an army of 550k and three dragons. okay hello daenerys! anyways she apparently fights for rhaenyra, but also bangs aemond, daemon, and cregan in the two year timeframe that the dance takes place in.

no one is gonna read this but my ass is mad and idgaf! i need to complain!! but anyways, i am sick and tired of the ocs that are just cheap copies of daenerys because at what point is this an original character? if youre using a faceclaim of daenerys for your character and essentially adding her entire plotline onto your oc, is it even an oc anymore? like i get being inspired to base a character off of her because dany is literally the blueprint, but copy and pasting her entire character and then going off and ignoring grrm’s established lore (yes, its a fanfic, but ive seen too many oc’s claim both cannibal AND vermithor at the same time and i am TIRED) is just lazy and boring.

i wish people did more with their hotd ocs honestly. like theres hundreds of houses and shit and actual ORIGINAL ideas one could use instead of just taking dany’s whole character and just making it their own. i dont even want to start an argument with this but i NEED to see more original characters. like im writing my own two on wattpad rn (one’s a dragonseed whos like schizophrenic idk and the other’s a mormont who slays the day away) but even then i just need more than aemond x his sister or niece or smth idk yk??

If I'm allowed to speak out, I don't think Marc is going to be a gentleman. He's a hunter, it's in his nature, as soon as he feels blood he'll eat you alive. All his careful words are now more focused on trying to be polite and calm the excitement that was caused by his transition to ducati. (I'm still sure that Valentino is playing some kind of secret game in the background, so it might even be dangerous). So this is, well, not exactly a lie, but rather gentleness and something like an attempt at mind games (and most likely part of Ducati's PR strategy) to mitigate the impending storm. I can't say what Pecco thinks, but he always tries to appear like an "honest racer" compared to others, but Marc is almost 100% lying, he came here to win the ninth title and I think everyone knows that.

Someone on the forum gave a wonderful quote, and I think it perfectly describes the situation on behalf of Marc: "Pecco will be the leader of the garage, number one. And then I'll surpass him."

I mean, he seems lovely off track most of the time. But let's be real he's a pain in the ass on track. He fights you at every corner - he will do ANYTHING for a win. Like you say, he's a hunter. People who have competed against him know- dovi, dani, Jorge. They know he's a devil on that bike.

I absolutely believe he's playing a PR game here. He's at a new team. He's sussing out the situation before he pounces. Frankly, I think he's going to destroy pecco next year. I do like pecco but I feel at the moment, on this current grid, there are very few riders who can challenge someone like Marc. The calibre just doesn't seem the same as it once was. Maybe I will eat my words, I don't know.

Either way, being a gentleman on track isn't part of motorsports. It's important to note that this doesn't mean they're horrible off track. They can still apologise and be kind and likeable when they aren't racing. (Or y'know, pull a valentino and start a hate campaign against someone a decade and a half your junior)

Vale wasn't, neither was Jorge, or Marc, or Casey. Even in f1, max isn't, neither is lewis or Schumacher, Rosberg, Sebastian. The list goes on. You do not achieve great success in motorsport by letting people walk over you.

To be clear, i don't think pecco does let people walk over him... well, maybe a little bit last year. And I do think he's talented. But I defo think they're pedalling a narrative, and I'm not sure it'll work in his favour. No one remembers the polite kind one who won less....

I hope yo see some really good battles between them next year and I'm sure marc will be going for the ninth (I dont doubt he will get it)

HELP okay i’ll try my best… so uh. idk if they have BEEF per se but i would imagine that some of the animosity would stem from the state of yamaha in 2021 and maverick’s uh. handling of that entire snafu. and yamaha being one of fabio quartararo’s beautiful wives (the other is tony arbolino the OTHER other is being nips out in work situations). anyways under the cut it’s lawg

SO. source HERE it does a good job laying this all out, but mav moved from suzuki to yamaha to start the 2017 season and immediately had a real substantial string of successes. he topped testing (a more novel occurrence THEN than NOW…) and won the first two races of the season, with many of the top contenders in the class having comparatively more difficult starts to the year (marc, dani, jorge, AND dovi all DNFed in argentina in the wet lmao). unfortunately, in true maverick fashion, it wouldn’t last and his results would be a lot more spotty as the season continued, with marc and dovi emerging as the true title contenders after the break and him finishing p3 overall (still ahead of valentino rossi…)

from there, our typically maverick pattern emerges, and maverick’s results kinda plummet more and more as the years pass by, with a few bright spots in tracks he likes. cracks are already showing in 2018, especially as vale ages and marc continues to be dominant while ducati improve. but like. maverick is a HUGE confidence guy!!!!and lin jarvis is in the press at austria 2018 like my rider’s qualified like total dog dookie!!! and maverick (most sensitive man on earth) is like okay. FUCK YOU… so things are already sliding nasty in 2018, but then he wins at assen in 2019 and re-signs w yamaha (even though ducati apparently wanted him. which is crazy to me but i digress.) it SHOULD BE NOTED that maverick himself was also publicly baffled by the decision from ducati to re-sign him, which EYE think says a lot abt his relationship with the team and confidence in his place there, and then they bring in all theses young hotties named fabio and franky and i imagine it’s like uh oh. i gotta PERFORM…

then 2020: shit hits the fan, marc breaks his arm, covid is going full blast, and no one knows what the fuck is going on. yamaha is very shaky through it all - fabio isn’t happy, maverick isn’t happy, everything is breaking or going wrong and there’s no pace on the bike and despite winning a GP maverick calls it the “worst season of his career!!!!” and also fabio is there with three wins looking. VERY good. writing perhaps on the wallll about the new guys and 21 yr old fabio is like. idk i can see why fabio’s friendly ass had a hard time vibing with all that. it doesn’t strike me as a natural vibe match.

and like. okay so famously the dramatic conclusion comes of COURSE in 2021 where mav got a new crew chief (he really liked his old one…) and then finished p19 in germany among serious grip woes that he claimed the team didnt have an answer for, all while fabio is charging to mount an actual title challenge, which i imagine didnt help things. like the pure comparison of it. exit rumors build (he podiums the next gp on the same setup he placed p19 in apparently, and like. doesn’t celebrate w the team at ALL in parc ferme like the vibes are OFFFF !!!), maverick is publicly critical of the team and unhappy with his situation, and then uh. he um. he gets fired AHEAD of assen 2021 and yamaha state he’ll leave after that season, a full year before his contract expires. boo tomato tomato from both parties…

I don’t get the bran hate. A lot of people say his chapters are boring compared to dany or Jon and idk I’m sure mind melding with evil eldritch tree man is going to have no huge ramifications for the plot going forward. Also people say he’s whiny or sad. Like yeah he’s 9 and he’s in the fucking trenches dude

its def influenced by the show. show fans HATED bran esp once his journey north started because it was boring seeing them walking or whatever. but this is partly d&d's fault since they totally shitted all over the bloodraven cave stuff because its too magical. plus the removal of characters like the northern mountain clans. and fandom's weird and ableist treatment of hodor. also he was straight up just not in season 5 so when he shows back up in season 6 people were like UGHHHHH boring. book fans...... they just dont have the juice they just dont get it. he's just so disconnected from all their faves they cant even bother to pretend to care

The reason I dont want Daenerys to be the prince that was promised is because the Targaryens are colonizers and Daenerys herself is such a white savior archetype that I can't truly get behind her story line ending with her being the promised prince. Dont get me wrong, she is a fantastic character and I'm rooting for her ...to stay in mereen and fix the problems over there. Its where her story is. Its where she can do to most good and where her ending deserves to come to fruition. She is the breaker of chains. She is the Khaleesi. She is the Mhysa of those people. Her task should be to end slavery since she has the power to do something about it. Especially because its something she herself basically experienced as a 13 yo girl sold to an old man horse lord. Thats her story and its an important one.

Jon Snow and by proxy, The Starks, are the ones with a real dog in this fight over in westeros. The Starks are the people indigenous to that continent. The Starks have fought this foe before and the Starks have been the kings of winter 40 times longer than the Targs have even been in westeros. Theirs is the story of the north and the white walkers. Jon's is the story of the white walkers. He is the one uniting the factions. He is the one doing the dirty work to win that war. His is the blood of the first men and the Targaryens, a warg and possible dragon rider. The lord commander of the nights watch and the first person to really sound the alarm on the white walkers.

It just doesn't feel genuine to have Dany swoop in with her dragons to save the day in a continent she feels entitled to that she had never stepped foot in and has no idea how to rule, after her father killed the ruling Starks and started a war that left her entire family dead. She just...doesn't have a place there.

In summation, yeah Im pretty sure Dany is gonna be the prince who was promised but fuck that I hate it and the colonizer mindset her fucking family rode in on. Jon Snow all the way.
