can one of my Gen X elder Goths tell me stories about going to the goth clubs back in the halcyon days of the 80s & 90s?

getting into more goth Gen X music and it’s making me a little sad that i didn’t come up until goth clubs had mostly vanished. from what i understand, it was a bit of a Wild West situation, with clubs popping up and vanishing again almost as quickly.
