1. i've seen a few people on my dash say this already, but my biggest peeve within the rpc is that everyone is constantly spouting love for ocs, especially female ones, right up until they're presented with an oc to interact with and then that energy is GONE. like where did it go ? the wonderful land of oz? tf.

2. i?? hate how hard it is to join a new fandom !!! like , okay i seriously didn't have this issue with the gv fandom bc literally everyone has been so kind && welcoming , but like . with other fandoms in the past, it's like!! stupidly hard to get established and find your footing. i totally understand bein' rlly picky with your following n stuff, i am too, but it makes it sO hard to join a new fandom. like, bc most people want to be able to read ur writing BUT you can't put writing on a blog if you don't have interactions && you can't get interactions without followers and it's like an endless hellcycle!! it makes it rlly scary to try n join a fandom if you don't already know someone there bc ,,, like !! will it even WORK !! will you put all this work into a blog and then no one interact ??? TUMBLR IS SCARY AND I HATE IT

hii anon! sorry this took me so long to answer.... i was thinking abt it at first and then i just forgot 👉👈 sorry

1. my f4 graphic! i don’t make a lot of comics edits but i had sooo much fun with this!! the fantastic four mean so much to me and i think the composition came out rlly nice! and it was super easy to do bc those early comics used the same limited amount of colors. i had a lot of fun digging through the comics looking for panels and then basically just cut them out and stuck them together in different ways until i found what i liked!! except for that first one i knew immediately what i wanted to do with it. and the minimalist powers panel came at the very end when something else i was trying didn’t work out. it originally still had the powers concept but i pulled panels for it; it looked to busy tho

2. this cas gifset that i don’t remember making  as i said i dont remember like when i made this so i can’t speak to the process but i usually don’t like any of my old stuff but i love the sentiment here n it’s pretty (even if it’s sooo desaturated bc that’s all i knew how to do at first) also im really happy with the scenes i chose so props to past me skdfhah

3. i literally just made this sam gifset but i think it looks so pretty!!!!! i love the colors!! it was inspired by my lovely nina bc of her url. it took me about a day to make not counting the week or so i was sitting with the quote trying to figure out a concept for it but it changed completely from the first idea that i sat down with. at first i tried doing that thing where you superimpose 2 gifs but i didn’t like the way it turned out so i scratched that completely. i had started w the first gif of sam at jess’ grave so i knew i wanted that purpley blue color throughout so from there i started thinking about what scenes fit the vibes + had lots of blues i could manipulate! i had to dl dark side of the moon when i first decided i wanted that for this set but it worked out well because it wasn’t my original intention to use it at the end but i’m really happy with that last gif!!!

4. this buddie one is another one i just recently made (i like my recent stuff MUCH more can you tell?). it’s a new girl quote that makes me INSANE and i saw it in a web weaving and it kinda just hit me OH that would be great for buck in this scene. i didn’t know at first i was also gonna use eddie for that scene. so i load up the buck frames in photoshop and work on coloring it which this scene for some reason is so hard to color it shouldn’t be but it is. but actually i love the final result it came out so beautiful i’m so happy. and then because it’s such a simple edit otherwise, like i didn’t change the colors or anything on it, i knew i wanted the text to be kinda more fun and dynamic so i played around with the positioning until it was cute. and once it was in a place i liked i opened the eddie gif and tbh i just copy/pasted over the coloring from the buck gif n didn’t even really have to tweak it that much i think i just changed the color balance a bit. and then i actually changed the font i think and was like. okay that’s it that looks perfect. and voila!

5. and my love letter to supernatural!! this started out veeery different but i knew i had to do something with this quote!! because i knew it was supposed to be everyone i actually planed out most of the different scenes before starting, which i don’t usually do. other than that it was kinda a little rushed because i started it i think like the wednesday right before the finale without even realizing it and then rushed through trying to finish it in time. which ended up working out for me bc since the finale sucked everyone reblogged this with like “#the finale we deserved” or “#how could they forget about this???” n stuff like that so it got mad notes! so yeah im really happy with this one it makes me emotional

alina starkov — in this one, i tried a different style + experimenting with different fonts and layers and i really loved how it turned out. and the quote is one of my favourites from alina and ansldfns the paleness of it stood out for me imo :))

to all the boys i’ve loved before — the style i did here was unlike any i’ve done before + i really love the pink colour scheme and the flower overlays. also, covinsky!! it was difficult finding scenes that matched quotes from the novel, but eventually, i succeeded! and i love it <3

pride and prejudice — i really admire the colouring used here <33 i feel like it matched elizabeth x mr darcy well, and the quotes from the novel somewhat matched the gif!! i just rlly love this. it’s one of my favourites hehe! 

love, rosie — a movie gifset that i adored the colouring in!! it was quite difficult finding specific scenes that complimented each other (so there wasn’t a huge blast of colour in the gifset) but i think it turned out well :))

aaromeda couple — this was one of the first edits that i was rlly proud of, made for my friend, anna’s, bday!! i loved the colouring in this + the placement of the quotes! the pictures were hard to find, as well as getting them all in the same proportion, but i think it worked out well !! :))

my thoughts about tlou2 under a read more bc they are mostly negative lol

ok i really need to vent somewhere and here is the place lmao 

ironicaly, i’m going to start with abby bc i think it is, somehow, the easiest part to talk about. i’m going to keep this story and narrative-wise but i have to say that playing as her became fun. the way she contrasts with ellie’s gameplay is awesome and kudos to the character designers bc she is damn intimidating in a way female antagonists NEVER get to be. now, to the narrative. i actually grew to like her story bc, surprise, hers is the only narrative in the damn game that gets to have character development. she is the only one ‘seeking the light’. i felt kind of bad that i liked her parts more than ellie’s until i realized this, because how can i not latch onto the only bit of hope this game has to offer? abby and lev’s rship is that. (though i do think it is a bit of a mess how they could not be sure who they were trying to paralel abby off of? like we get it she is like joel bc hate and disillusionment consumed her until she found small child to take care of but wait she is also like ellie bc she has two close friends one of whom she loves who are having a child!! oops!!! pregnant ladies squared!!! also i only get pedantic about medical stuff if i’m really bitter but hey, i am so, wtf was up with dina’s pregnancy lmao that is not how pregnancy works ANYWAY)

meanwhile, ellie’s arc is absolutely bleak. every moment of happiness and warmth we get from the flashbacks is tainted with the cruelty we know is coming. i have been thinking that my problems with the game were bc i loved joel and couldn’t really get over his death but i love ellie too. even if i cared nothing for joel, ellie gets no real development? she is traumatized in a brutal way and there is no... real closure there? if i’m being benevolent i would say the most she gets is finally accepting what joel did for her, and learning to embrace the life he has given her but SHE WAS ALREADY PREPARED TO TAKE THAT ROAD. which is why that last scene with joel is awful, and not only in an utterly heartbreaking way, but in how meaningless everything that happened was. 

like how is this the best way to tell this story!! unles ofc all we want is character death as shock value and another trite story about the circle of violence bc we clearly need another videogame to tell us that instead of a follow up to the story that told us that “you keep finding reasons to survive” and “all we’ve been through, it can’t be for nothing”. why would you take that story from the first game and warp it into this??? it could have been so much more. why did we need so much misery to tell us what we knew all along? that ellie has a gentle heart and the violence of this world they live in will do its best to break her but she won’t? (this is something that rlly bothers me a lot bc i saw someone say that tlou1 had no real message about violence and ??? what was that scene with david lmao. but sure. sure.)

but no. joel was butchered and the only reason was that the writers couldn’t find an interesting way to keep the story going and as much as they keep saying “the story was about ellie all along” they mistreated her so badly and caused her to suffer for this new narrative of hopelessness and loss that she ALREADY KNEW. she already suffered a lot of losses in her life. all those gifsets with joel’s quote from the first game about how she did not know what loss was, like she only knows now???!!! she already knew what loss was. she had overcome it. she was in the process of overcoming survivor’s guilt and the game took all the progress she had made, not only during tlou but during the years between games, and put it back to square one and completely ignored the doubts that plagued here now about what joel had done, how her life should have mattered. i’ve read some people say that a lot of criticism of this game is bc we just wanted a repeat of the first one but at least what i wanted was the events of the ending of the game to MATTER. to REFLECT on ellie’s character in a way that she could grow from.   

(and don’t get me started on tommy OH MY GOD. he was all for returning to jackson and then you’re telling me he would change his mind so radically as to pressure ellie into RISKING HER LIFE, letting revenge consume him to the point where he breaks it off with maria???? TOMMY. TOMMY WHO NEVER EVEN WANTED REVENGE FOR JOEL IN THE FIRST PLACE BC IT WOULD RISK TOO MUCH, WHO NEVER THOUGHT VIOLENCE WAS THE ANSWER OH MY GOD

i was ready for this game to make me cry, to touch something deep within that the first one had. i got that feeling during the prologue where joel sings the song and plays the guitar. the rest were only the tears lol. i expect it will win a lot of awards but this is not good storytelling. making a climax that will stay with the players is NOT hard if all you do is pile tragedy upon tragedy and pain upon pain, and that is all that that final confrontation is, with abby’s story akwardly placed in the middle like hey! are we ready for some conflicting point of views?!! you’d better!!!. but there’s no resolution. no closure. ellie gets to keep the ptsd and the nightmares and whatever but ofc that’s not something that we want to dwell on right.

it’s been some years so i don’t remember Exactly what ? but id always see these gifsets on my dash and i was like,,, i wanna do that,,,, so i somehow figured out how it worked ? i remember i giffed a lot of romeo + astro at the start bc i just Wanted To Make Content For Them since neither rlly had too much at the time😭

there's kind of a rush from starship to make mx big before they start enlisting i think :( it's kind of sad to think about. that's probably why they've been working nonstop since all in. i think starship expected them to make it big from debut (thus the rush to get a first win and taking their phones away) and mx was promised that but things didn't go as planned. at least that's the feeling i'm getting. i think the success of part 2.5 will determine if they're going to stay in japan or korea

YESYES^^^^^^^^^^^^ idk some people rly.... think no mercy was..... a reliable portrait of reality jkfhdsg. when ppl take it too far and say the others rly mistreated him or hated him it makes my eyes roll back into my skull idk like !!! do u rly think!!! no mercy was one big scripted story with convenient narrative arcs and changkyun’s ate arrival was one of them. i think at that point it was obvious changkyun was going to debut?? and how do u make an audience like someone in the shortest amount of time possible? u make them sympathise with him/his situation. no mercy was very organised storytelling, if u know what i mean, it is a very narrative-driven show with victims and villains and timed hurdles and it concludes in a very neat way.

But here's the real question (and you don't have to answer if you don't feel comfortable): did starship already have the final lineup planned? Personally I think that some were gonna make it regardless (jooheon, shownu, kihyun) and that the others weren't finalized until later, but idk man it's still a big debate

i agree!! but i’d definitely add changkyun to the planned debut lineup. i think starship wanted to debut yoonho originally but they realised too late that he wasn’t ready yet. also, it’s interesting what they did w #gun bc they rly made u like him as a person, rly sympathise w him, rly anticipate him when it was kind of clear in a hip hop group there would b a high tone rapper and a low tone rapper... and jooheon was definitely going to debut like 100% lmao so the high tone slot was taken from the beginning. i think starship had plans for #gun already at that point but he wasn’t gonna make it into mx. and i think wonho was also most likely in the lineup, but it wasn’t decided at the beginning of the show like it was with the other three u mentioned.. probably somewhere along the line. i think Perhaps hyungwon n minhyuk were in the dark.

on your birthday renjun gifset, how did you do the gifs in the letters?! it’s such a cool effect😭 god tier gifs👏🏻😍

it wasnt rlly hard tbh!! i'll try to explain the best i can bc i suck at it sodjskdjs but what i basically did was:

i made the gifs first + the coloring and resizing. i made the gifs according to the amount of letters in the canva, bc it made work easier tbh dkdjskd

i had the text on a canva ready, with the spaces and size i wanted them too, also the text had to be on another layer. i used one layer for all the text, what i mean is i used one layer for the happy and didnt make a layer for each letter!

when i had everything ready, gifs and canvas i moved every gif to the canva (if you dont know how to do it feel free to ask me!!)

after all of the gifs were in the canvas of the texts, i selected each gif separately and pressed "create clipping mask" for it to be behind the letters and not get edited if i moved smth. after that i moved them to fit the letters and thats all!!

as for the effects of the letters i right-clicked the layer of the text and selected the blending options. then went to the shadow option and edited it to what i liked and thats it uwu

of course after i was finished i sharpened everything and did the usual i would do when making a normal gif
