joke is funny, but also wanted to share a tip.
years ago I noticed that if the container and/or lid is seethrough, the terror of not remembering how long the food has been in there (two weeks? three? more???) is a lot less bad

#i advocated so hard for my flatmates to agree to have a transparent-only rule for tupperwares#although i do think they mostly agreed because i realized this in conjunction with a food microbio lab#where we were asked to bring a tup from home#that had been there for at least a few days#and i brought in the (not seethrough) box of lasagna that everyone denied putting in there and was too scared to open#so that it had been ignored and ignored way after we first noticed it in the back of the fridge#and couldnt agree on whose job it was to open it and face the terror#anyway it looked horrendous when i opened it in lab and i got such insane variety of bacteria! dangerous ones!#like there was so much in there that could make you so sick#and tbf no one would ever have eaten that obvsly#but still that biohazard had been in our fridge for ages so everyone was grossed out af and i got my way immediately#and ive never had moldy food in the fridge since#..jk ofc i have
