HOGH OKAY FINISHED THE REFS tadaaa (throws confetti) heres my au that started off as a little crack idea and then i got WAY too invested into it X)

i'm calling it the Lucky Card AU! basically its a modern au but with a lot of gambling, sketchy activity, and good ole gunfights. Lamb (named Ines in this one!) is a high roller, often cheating their way into winning. Narinder, owner of 'The Reaper' casino, is infamous for being exiled by his Family for a variety of reasons. Goat (named Jahel) is a bodyguard for hire, currently working as Ines' bodyguard

its also yuri <3 all three of them end up together

so it all starts basically with Ines deciding to gamble at Nari's casino, they get caught and Nari threatens them with using any power he still has to get them blacklisted. OBVIOUSLY they dont want this, so instead the two make a deal; Get rid of Narinder's Family and put an end to the beloved 'Olden Faith Avenue' (a street that basically belongs to them)

Ines is lucky, charismatic, and knows how to use a knife and handgun. So they aren't completely out of their depth here

still! they decide to get the help of an old friend, Jahel. A gunman/bodyguard for hire who has been looking for work recently. Jahel is very aphrensive about Ines getting so involved in "this side of the business" but, for their own reasons, would really like to see the Olden Faith Avenue crumble, so they agree to be Ines' bodyguard

of course those "reasons" include the fact they were once Shamura's old bodyguard (im still figuring out what the bishops are in this au HFDHS) and Narinder, at first, was Not The Happiest about Ines hiring them, thinking they might betray them. it takes a bit for them to warm up to eachother X)

I think lamb is perfect to picture the change of character ody experience, at first they have a pure heart, merciful! But with time and pain the old lamb dies and the ruthless monster is born.

(Fun fact this is more in line with my headcanons for goat but is time to let lamb shine🔥)

Idk I headcanons leshy like a big chaotic beast yes but also like the actual legend of leshy, specifically the ones where he's more of a neutral god that coexist with humans but kills them if they take too much from nature. Also bro get blinded too

I love a strong woman that only cares about protecting the people she loves the most, I think Circe is the perfect choice

Also Circe allures men in her palace, cooks for them and then she transforms them into food basically haha is funny in my head.

I just saw the trailer for the next Cult of the Lamb update and I'm having fuuuun/devious glee.

Sidenote but it'll be coming out a few days before my b-day so that's great! (I totally didn't need anymore signs from the gods that I need irl friends before I snap hehooo)

So, regarding the alternate universe vessel character.

(so far I've seen like 5 names that I love to death but I have a feeling I know the one in particular that is gonna settle before the others get considered. I could make a list if anyone wants to debate 'cause fandoms can settle Fast and I think there's some potential for layered contrast and just settling for the easy option would be disappointing. But I'm not the biggest fan anyway so maybe I shouldn't be so arrogant about it.)

I noticed how they were wearing purple robes and were often in purple lighting, obviously, the way everyone else did, but something might be wrong with my eyes cuz their crown colour seemed like, straight-up blue to me? I do have an eye injury atm so maybe that's legit. Seemed kinda glaring tho/pos

So now I've got two diverging paths I'm *scrawling* over/pos:

1- AU where Shamura is the one bound in chains (and Narinder the role of think no evil) and the player character serves the god of War instead of Death.

Look, the animatics just write themselves. Any God of War scene? You can warp and adapt. Also, the "Warrior of the Mind" animatic for anyone who got obsessed with Fate: the Musical recently. It's just potential!

I also like the idea of instead of the dynamic being black cat x deceptively wholesome shepherd, it's intellectual spider x scruffy goat with a knife.

On the OTHER hand, hear me out,

2- Kallamar & Narinder roleswap AU. This could have the personalities swap version (something something scaredy-cat), or a fun to imagine scenario where Kallamar became jaded enough to the point of nearly paralleling Narinder in formidable vengefulness while also having been just as much of a coward in the past. Basically he grew some courage but at what cost?

This would probably mean that Narinder stayed however he was before the betrayal and imprisonment, probably being the one to lose his ears, and maybe taking the role in the narrative as the sibling to run from the Goat after the two younger gods got taken out and the middle child realized he was next? I can't imagine Narinder throwing Shamura under the bus like that, maybe it was more like a "you can't kill me, it'll fuck everything up! You have to spare me or the last fight will take place in an even more fucked-up apocalyptic hellscape!").

If Narinder was still the one to first express discontent with Death, wonder how Sickness being restrained in the afterlife affected Narinder's situation... Or what if Narinder was like Shamura, and the two were conspirators, instead of Death by War it was Death by Plague? And Death stayed free but went deaf or insane? What would Kallamar have to gain from the idea of breaking past his cosmic role, thinking "okay but what if, immortality was an option?" remixed to be uh, maybe something to do with health? Immunity? Something bordering Frankenstein as an affront to nature?

As you can see I'm putting thoughts and curiosity into both ideas, the only thing I kinda hope becomes mainstream fanon is that the Goat is a bit like Lamb's opposite - wheras one is welcoming and soft but capable of horrors at night, and of course being a badass monster fighter - contrasted with an equally small and powerful but ig more unhinged-seeming up close for the first couple interactions (probably recruited individuals with a pitch like "look I'm the one with the weapon here, so you're gonna wanna get behind me even if you don't trust me with access to things") but then shows glimpses of a heart of gold that makes followers feel safe enough to stay. As well as a sense of responsibility and like, actual leadership skills lol.

Just, Sheep / Goat religious allegories make me very sad and I think this silly little game would make me feel better about things.

I can't WAIT to see how Bamsara handles this update. We gettin' the multiverse canon? Hopefully it doesn't get too crazy, and we stick with just the two purple/blue and red characters for a little while.

I wonder what other satanic animals could be vessels? Wolf, definitely, donkey makes sense also, and pig is usually ascribed with gluttony but there's something that could be done with cleanliness or intelligence but percieved otherwise... I also think there's something that could be done with birds though, like I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that the Mourning Dove is angel coded, much like the Lamb. Could just be the Dove also, though I was kinda hoping that the Symbol of World Peace wouldn't be a drect Christian symbol, which was a wishful hope.

Um... yeah! Just wanted to get my thoughts out! And there's a certain other goatlike character who's been occupying my thoughts recently, dw, I'll get to that soon. I'll explain then.

um. I don't know if this is a function so I'm not even gonna try lol but I hope I remember to come back to see Bamsara's initial reaction to the alternate universe implicated update! Oh yeah and a daycare centre, that's a relief for everyone involved whoof! Hope there's an NPC willing to take up the job, and who would of course enjoy being around kids.

Goat x Shamura shippers and Sozo x Shamura shippers, I personally headcanon Shamura as extremely aroace but I'm so glad you're having fun

I'm also not really a multishipper when it comes to Narilamb, but I do like seeing people ship the lamb with other characters too. I've seen tons of good art with the lamb shipped with the other bishops!

I'm also not too big on Leshycat-- not because I don't like it, but I just don't really actively ship it because it didn't particularly capture my interest very much, if that makes sense. However, all the leshycat art I've seen is really sweet!

To start, I don’t actually hate narilamb because I like toxic ships, I HATE how delusional it’s stans are, he would NAWT be the lambs uwu loverboy and it’s shocking how fluffy narilamb content is because the amount of delusion it takes to get there is just???

Bro literally made a genocide victim do his bidding and then demand they KILL THEMSELVES for his benefit, and the people who lament the fact the lamb can’t kill themselves for Narinder (I’ve literally seen people write fan fiction where the lamb looooooves Narinder so much that they can’t wait to die for him 🤮🤮🤮 (erasing narinders manipulation of them too what!?!))

I’ve never understood why people feel the need to whitewash a ship, there is no version of narilamb that’s healthy you don’t have to do gymnastics and bend the characters into flanderized versions of themselves, the most “healthy” the ship could be is if Narinder lives as The Lambs concubine or something but even then the power imbalance would make the consent of it dubious at best, and I’m not even saying they can’t ship it but ALL THE STRECHING to make it healthy/fluffy is insane to me

You’re the first person I’ve seen outside of myself to think that leaving the bishops in purgatory is a good idea, I’ve never heard anyone else express this in any way, forever ass beating is a punishment they’ll deserve for as long as the lambs remain dead, even though I like them! (Also one of the first to call Narinder a cunt, which he is! Big love hate relationship with him, just like with the other bishops, don’t know why people think he’s the good bishop, since lamb and goat are the only innocents here)

This fandom is so fucking AMANORMATIVE too, they gotta thrust everyone into a ship even if it doesn’t fit, god it’s not AS BAD as other fandoms I’ve seen (mouthwashing fandom is HELL) and even if it does fit many characters in this fandom get their entire personalities watered down to their “other half” (narinder the lamb, Leshy and the yellow cat, sozo and shamura)

I do think there’s a tendency to misrepresent everything in canon to favor whichever they ship, and I think the devs very intentionally fashion the narrative to pander to the shippers

Take goat/lamb as a ship (this ship is proof to me that the devs do a Lot of pandering) they basically BUILT the goat to be a character shipped with the lamb in every single way??? Like just thinking about goatlamb for more than 5 seconds, they’re literally COUNTERPARTS, yin and yang, souls bound across actual TIMELINES, their crowns can fuse together, (and it’s implied they can also fuse together/share bodies to some degree, literally at the end of the goats DEBUT TRAILER) the devs advertise the update by announcing they can have SEX with each other and then narilamb fans see this and go

“Hmm I don’t like this i like narilamb instead” and the devs turn around and immediately jump to pandering to them that’s crazy 😭 (it’s also an example of how out of touch the narilamb fans are 💀)

They then try to ship the goat with literally everyone ELSE but the lamb, Shamura n the goat make a little sense, they’re both war like, abrasive, then you start seeing shit like leshygoat, hekket x the goat! KALLAMAR and the goat, all to avoid shipping the goat with characters they have shit in common with… in a game

THAT HAS LITERAL POLYAMORY, and they say they see the goat as the lambs sibling so lambgoat shippers are the bad ones 🧍as if narilamb isn’t the HEIGHT OF TOXICITY in non abusive ships I don’t think they could get worse without adding literal DV

I love the bishops don’t get me wrong! But them becoming vengeful and un-rested ghosts is a rad and deserving punishment for them, I think. I think the bishops are the good bishops here so I’m surprised that anyone things Narinder is the best one out of the original 5. You can say a lot about them being harsh, cruel, vindictive, and defensive (and they are!) but they actually made a plan and followed through with it admirably. Shamura’s genius was really on display back there and I do have to give credit where it’s due. The other bishops’ existence makes Narinder look bad and incompetent lolll.

I agree that shipping takes up way too much of the fandoms response to the game- especially when I’m desperate to piece together the lore of the game’s world that we get in those blood stone tablet thingies? I don’t see enough speculation into that and I’m DYING to know. The mystic seller? The owl? The fox? There are simply so many things to focus on here!! It’s a beautiful and harsh world with its own unique charm and character and I’m hungry for more information about it. In general I think we have a tendency to only focus on romance in fandoms in general. (and I stay farrrr away from the mouthwashing fandom lol mainly for the ridiculous amounts of ableism with how curly is portrayed by fans)

Granted I am the wrong person to talk to about goat x lamb pandering bc I am falling for it hook line and sinker. BUT! I at least think their dynamic as mirrored counterparts or aspects of one another that is cool and interesting! More so than narilamb. But I’ll admit to drinking this particular flavor and liking it. Yum yum propaganda.

I must say I have never heard of any of these goat pairings except for shamura?? They sound a bit far-fetched to me but…. Go off to all those who partake?? I guess mainly I’m just baffled by the fact that people would hate lamb x goat that much and also feel the need to put goat with someone? You could simply not pair them at all- especially if the alternatives are that off the wall.

It’s weird that anyone would think of the goat and the lamb as siblings?? I think the closest label you could apply to them are maybe… idk? Narrative foils? Magical clones maybe? Regardless the means by which they could be related are so far removed from reality that to cry incest is a bit absurd. It’s like looking at a Fae changeling and deciding that the human they’re supposed to be mimicking is their twin.
