#and how she sees herself in the books. like you actually see the name 'dany' in her chapters more than 'daenerys'

Whether in the books or show, didn’t Dany eventually try to prevent the pillaging of the Lhazareen village? So couldn’t her trying to protect the women from that village by claiming them as her own be all she could do considering the system the Dothraki had? Trading slaves is one of their ways of trading money. All she could do was claim the women as her own slaves, so that no harm could be done to them as they are Dany’s property. Dany obviously doesn’t share the same views but knew how to act because she knew the Dothraki ways. She cares about them and even her entire upcoming arc is freeing slaves. Dany wasn’t able to properly free them because she as a Khaleesi doesn’t have any worth without her Khal, in terms of power. But she still cared for those girls and even swore to avenge one of them. Why do ppl criticize her for that?
There are several reasons for this.
1. She burns Mirri.
Regardless of what she meant to do with her slaves, she owns Mirri. Mirri tells her what to do several times and her instructions are not followed. Dany acknowledges this herself when she thinks that Jorah killed her son, yet she ultimately makes Mirri pay the sole price for this. Later on, when a former slaver comes to her and asks for the newly freed slaves who raped his female members to be punished, she says she will not punish a slave rising up. There is no reflection here on her actions towards Mirri, there’s no growth, and it’s on purpose.
2. She doesn’t treat Irri or Jhiqui any differently
They still refer to themselves as slaves. Dany uses Irri sexually even knowing Irri feels obligated to do this, then has this weird power play moment where she implies Irri is not good enough to fuck one of her bloodriders. It is a valid point of criticism that you can say you’re a good person until you’re blue in the face but if you still see your former slaves as slaves, as beneath you, as worthy of fucking but not of marrying up - I mean what have you changed, really?
3. Regardless of her intentions, slaves were still taken in her name
This conquest is kicked off because she wants it. I get she’s not driving, she’s not even riding shotgun, and the initial fallout is out of her control in many ways because she’s literally giving birth. I also understand that she’s practically a child herself, and doesn’t quite understand what “sacking a city to build an army” actually entails until she sees it. I think you could compare the initial sack of the Lhazareen village as similar to Arya killing that stable boy, or perhaps Sansa’s actions after Ned is taken, Catelyn when she takes Tyrion to the Vale; as in, she just doesn’t have all the facts or enough agency to make this situation go the way she thinks it’s going to go, and it goes horrifically sideways.
That said, the issue here is she continues having to learn this same mistake over and over - she knows a sack is violent and unpredictable, she knows younger people often have very little control over their lives, she still sacks three cities in a row with orders to kill everyone over 13 and then doesn’t understand why they turned to hell and why the forces that sacked those cities are having a hard time taking control. Like, she hears and sees herself from the account of Eroeh AND Mirri’s own mouth that what good “freedom and safety” are worth if your home was burned to the ground before your eyes and still hasn’t made the connection here to her own actions. Tywin was mistrusted by the people of KL up until his dying day because of the brutality of the KL sack and his use of the Mountain to regularly sack & raid small towns has turned the Riverlands inside out, not dissimilar to Astapor and the Bay in general. It’s a worrying pattern that seems likely to really bite her in the ass if she still hasn’t learned this lesson by the time she lands in Westeros.
It speaks to a level of privilege, and dehumanization that puts to question whether she is capable or sincere in her quest to upend the system or whether she is simply a reactionary child grasping for the ability to protect herself at the expense of the slaves around her. I think she DOES believe what she’s talking about, that everyone deserves the chance to live a happy life (strictly in the book. i do not feel the same about her in the show). But I also think she is a child ruled by fear, with no knowledge of the context in which she exists as a valyrian and a targaryen, and actively avoids learning the truth about her family’s actions and the way she may be perceived because she ties so much of her self worth to her family’s legacy. if that legacy is bad, then she is bad, ergo her father can’t be bad. this is her constant struggle in the series - her compassion for missandei and care for the girl’s future and her complete dismissal of irri as a human being with dignity. her drive to fix injustice she sees and the idea that dragons plant no trees. all of that starts in the dothraki sea - but she never learns, even as she gains more control, she defaults to anger and violence and dangerous fire magic to solve every single problem she comes up against, and purposefully closes her eyes to the cost it has, because that cost is people like Mirri! Other slaves!!! Acceptaboe collateral damage!
4. Her actions are just kinda dumb sometimes?
Yeah, while she’s trying to stop the rape happening in Lhazar in the first book, her save for this is essentially “trap these women in hostage marriages, and sell their relatives for money and take their shit.” Even if she had said and been listened to by the time they got to another village (but they don’t bc Drogo dies), she’s still stealing their shit to fund a war of conquest with a group of Dothraki screamers? From a PR standpoint alone, that’s not gonna win her any friends, which is the same point of criticism with a lot of her alliances - she’s like tailor making an army that is going to piss off Westeros the most! She’s got Dothraki, she’s got ~freed Unsullied, she’s got a greyjoy in the works, she’s not paying anyone jack shit. Who in Westeros is going to ally with her here? I’m not even just talking about Westerosi xenophobia and racism here, it’s like. Sometimes it feels like watching Ned in the capital, to read Dany and see her make all the wrong choices. I get why she’s making them but my god they’re so bad. The Dothraki are near universally disliked for being a slaving culture! Armies that are wholesale bought somewhere else and brought to another place are not usually liked very much even just region to region - hello the riverlands mess! The Ironborn DO experience a level of social prejudice that feels xenophobic but there Is this element here that like,,, these bitches love to raid the coastline of their neighbors, a lot of people have legitimate beef with them! Take a step back from how much you love her and look at what she’s doing - half of the wars in westeros center around PR and her PR as of right now kind of sucks even internationally bc she’s got the crazy fire worshippers on her side who are about to have a big issue in Westeros with SOMEONE about to set poor Shireen on fire! I don’t think it’s bad to point out that she’s not gonna have an easy time getting buy in from the people of Westeros! People whack Rhaenyra for this point all the time, “she refuses to understand how she’s perceived” neither does Dany tho!!
5. She’s still in a place of privilege
This one is hard to get across and it’s the one that always annoys me most to explain. (not mad at u anon, you’re being perfectly polite but i just don’t know how to explain this without sounding patronizing and also like, rape tw here). But it’s like. I get she’s oppressed more so than the average Westerosi wife as a khaleesi. I get it. I understand this. She still isn’t a slave. She still owns slaves. When I say “she owned slaves” i’m saying THINK about this From The Slave’s POV, not from Dany’s!! Some slavers show up in your town and kill every man you know. Boys and men. Then they rape you, and your neighbor, and your niece, and leave you lying in the mud. Then another man comes by and rapes you. Then some girl comes up and says she owns you. You are exhausted and traumatized and now you’re on this long trudge so she can sell you or the other children captured into slavery somewhere else. Then the leader dies, and she burns a slave alive, and says you’re free. Yeah she doesn’t have a lot of control, but what about the control the slave has? Why should we not weep for Mirri Maz Durr? Why is her life and tragedy worth less than Dany’s and why is Dany’s story littered with women exactly like Mirri? Could it be that maybe there’s a theme going on here about the limits of power that relies on the subjugation of others and the consistent failures of Great Powers to nation build when they refuse to interact with their own complicity in violence or the harm done to the native population?
I’m not saying I don’t understand the limits of what Dany can do in many of the situations she’s in. I’m saying she is on this quest to free slaves while having no understanding and at this point is actively FIGHTING understanding what it is about slavery that is so evil and dehumanizing. I’m saying can we think about the PoV of the peasant child who is burned and eaten by Drogon? Can we think about the PoV of Irri or Jhiqui? If we’re freeing slaves and criticizing the system, why does Dany refuse to reflect on Mirri Maz Durr’s fate as a slave?

The construction of idols and role models is interesting.I'm thinking about, for example, how one of the struggles is portraying female characters in the media so that girls have good role models. This of course is part of consumerism, many children will spend time in front of a screen so the discourse that I have seen lately focuses on shows, movies, cartoons, etc (without leaving aside those who continue talking about books and comics of course).
But this is not something recent and I am fascinated by how they show it asoiaf. The names Jon and Robb shout and some passages from Jaime are the male example, of course, but Sansa and Arya?Sansa concentrates on a much more abstract ideal: the figure of the lady (which will surely be influenced by the figure of the Maiden and the scriptures) and specifically in the songs. There was a time when Sansa aspired to emulate Cersei until the image she had of her and Joffrey was broken, then Cersei becomes a fallacy. Sansa relies on what she still believes, what gives her strength and a guide on how to act in her loneliness and difficult situation.
Arya. I love Arya because she looks at historical figures, these are not archetypes created by society but women who lived, breathed and found goals that Arya aspires to. For me it's important because there are so many people who instead of analyzing how restrictive the environment is with women and how restrictive the ideal of femininity is, they turn Brianne and Arya into"one of the guys" and to me that completely misses the point.Arya (unlike Cersei who has also been harmed by the patriarchy but focuses her anger very differently) is new to restrictions but looks to historical figures who were women AND warriors.
And that brings me to the construction of Visenya Targaryen as a symbol.Even when we are told that she was as comfortable in a dress as she was in armor and we see Rhaenys participating to the same extent as her brothers, both queens have been divided into a dichotomy. The warrior, the lady. Duty, love. Sphere of the masculine, sphere of the feminine. Both women (in fact all Asoiaf women) are much more complicated and complex than that, but what they were actually matters less than how they are described and used retroactively.
Visenya despite her participation in Maegor's reign is not as reviled as one would expect. The most interesting case for me is when Rhaena compares herself to her because I didn't read it as a negative comparison.Even if she is only invoking a small part of who Visenya was during her discussion of all living people she is likely one of the few left who remembers, knew and lived with her.
Even her name does not fall into disuse even though Rhaenys's is used more often (which may make sense since it is her line that the Targs come from... unless we want to go with the HC that Viserys and Viserra have the same root). Rhaenyra imitates her hairstyle which shows her admiration and wanted to name her daughter after her.
Rhaenyra's destroyers called her Maegor with tits, a comparison made several times in Asoiaf when comparing women to historical figures, most of the time in a pejorative way. Rhaenyra is Maegon with tits for her alleged cruelty, which equates her with one of the most hated figures and mocks her status as a woman. Dany is Aegon the conqueror with tits, which although they recognizes her power they wields still marks a negative equivalence and erases Visenya and Rhaenys.Cersei wants to be Tywin with Tits, probably the only one who would not be offended even though the insult remains because Cersei hates other women and is recent to a certain extent with her status as a woman. But if they had asked Rhaenyra? It seems like she would be more than happy to compare herself to Visenya, a powerful woman in her own right who symbolizes many Targaryen characteristics and traditions.
Oh anon...bless you. Visenya falls to the wayside as a model for people to compare Targs to, for Tags to compare themselves as, AND all of which you say demonstrated a clear decline in women (at least Tarb ones) being unattached to a male's legacy. Visenya and Rhaenys both conquered Westeros with Aegon, and I have also made the mistake of linking Dany to more him than Rhaenys or Visenya (and she leans more towards Rhaenys but really--and that's one beauty of her--she occupies many gendered roles or names and acts that she defies them simultaneously). Especially with all the Rhaegar comparisons and paralleling fandom and I have done from her vision of him becoming herself in his armor.

to sansa stans, take this post as an opinion from the other side, not as character hate or hate towards the OP. also, i didn’t post the name of the OP because i don’t want them to get any backlash in case a lot of people end up seeing this. (long post in coming…)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
wrong. OP’s opinion of the other side is incorrect and a bit offensive at that. i used to like sansa, now i am indifferent to her because of sansa stans.
to continue on, yes… sansa does develop internally… just like all the other characters ???? (doesn’t everyone develop internally…?) the difference between sansa and other characters is that she is a pawn—meaning she is led around by the big players—develops slowly, and through her POV, grrm tries to give us insight into what these big players—littlefinger and the tyrells—are doing without spoiling anything. this is why sansa has such slow development. grrm couldn’t have her grow because if she started trying to play the game, she would’ve gotten herself killed because she would be a novice or some of the big players political machinations would’ve had to have been revealed by grrm to keep up with sansa’s development. the tyrells and littlefinger need to stay mysterious for the plot.
if anything, sansa’s slow character growth is a testament to how amazing an author grrm is. he also does an amazing job writing quick character growth.
furthermore, the character who actually bores people is bran due to his long and tedious chapters—but people like bran, do they not? is it because he’s a boy and not a girl? is the like for bran, who i’ve established as a male character who bores people, then rooted in misogynistic double standards based on your analysis? i don’t think so. if anything, there are those who are indifferent to him, those who find him sweet but on a dangerous path, or those who come up with headcanons where he’s going to take over hodor and rape meera. there are shitty theories out there for every character because people all have different perspectives on the books. but from what i’ve seen, the dislike of sansa is not rooted in hatred or contempt for her character just because she was annoying once or because people find her boring. now, if i want to get radical, the horrible headcanon where bran uses hodor to rape meera is rooted in ableism. why? because why does bran need to use an able body to rape meera? (this sounds so wrong). why couldn’t meera like bran for bran? why couldn’t they have consensual sex? (WHEN THEY ARE OLDER). is it because the person who came up with this theory is ableist and can’t imagine anyone falling for someone who can’t walk? so then the only way bran and meera could have a sexual relationship is where bran (who’s very innocent) commits a horrible wrong against the girl he has a sweet crush on? let that sink in. horrible theories rooted in discrimination are everywhere.
additionally, a character who really does inspire violent hatred is dany. now, because i’m not trying to make blanket statements, i come with a specific example. the whole dany is going to burn down kings landing thing is rooted in misogyny and contempt for her character—and it also makes no sense whatsoever when you have both cersei and jon con in westeros on a crash course. cersei has sooooo many aerys parallels and jon con is going into that tywin lannister mindset—aka he thinks he should’ve burnt the town to the ground to find robert baratheon. it’s gonna be the sack of kings landing 2.0, but it’s going to be even more devastating this time. when you look at things this way—why are people so sure that dany will be the one to do it? it’s actual misogyny. dany is a woman in power—a young girl at that—who’s much more powerful then the men in the asoiaf universe. she’s taking on a corrupt system, she openly had a lover, and is a she-king. you know what, i bet if dany was a guy then people would absolutely adore her and ship sansa with her. double standards galore right here.
moreover, saying things like, “misogynistic double standards or indifference with which she [sansa] is discussed,” is a blanket statement if i’ve ever heard one. it’s also one that is not true. there are many reasons as to why people criticize sansa without being misogynistic in their posts/discussions—people like the OP are just taking criticisms of sansa out to be something they’re usually not (i’m sure there are misogynistic antis, but saying they represent a whole group is just bs). and dude, it’s perfectly acceptable for people to be indifferent to characters. in the first paragraph OP went off and said that it’s okay for characters [sansa] “not being someone’s cup of tea,” which is something that i agree with, but then OP did a 180 and put indifference and misogynistic in the same sentence, equating them on the same level, like ???? chose an opinion, stop being wishy-washy.
continuing on with my obnoxious nitpicking lol, “people try to justify disliking her at the same level as the true villains of the series or other morally ambiguous leads.” one, she’s not a lead, two, do you know what morally ambiguous actually means in the context of calling some of the actual leads this? the leads may make some morally ambiguous decisions, but this does not make their actual characters morally ambiguous. three, i do not understand why people dislike sansa more than the actual villains, but it may be because her stans are out of control and have some of the worst headcanons i’ve ever seen—an example being queen in the north sansa, something that is not supported by the text (Lady is her direwolf, not Nymeria, and she’s not a she-king like dany). four, sansa is classist and she does have internalized misogyny. she has many prejudices that will likely be worked on in the next book as she’s forced to grow (the winds of winter are blowing, every character will be getting darker in the next book). five, she is a liar at times, but so is every character, and the OP seems to be trying to equate “liar” with “classist” and “internalized misogynist” by putting these three in the same sentence. they’re not the same at all.
and the problem with the final sentence of OP’s response is that sansa has not grown significantly. she just hasn’t. i stated earlier in this post that this is because grrm needed her to stay stagnated, and i stick by my opinion, but this doesn’t change the fact that she’s still thinking classist/misogynistic thoughts about mya stone and other characters.
opposite of this stagnation is significant growth. i also stand by my statement that grrm is good at writing this as well. significant growth is when jon snow realizes that he was being a bully to the other recruits and firstly stops his behavior, and then secondly tries to befriend them and thirdly helps them out with their training. the only trait you listed (classist, liar, internalized misogynist) that can still be applied to jon is that he’s a liar. however, like i stated before, everyone lies in asoiaf. and lying is necessary. but equating lying with classist and internalized misogynist makes it seem like lying is outright bad and that anti-sansa asoiaf fans are criticizing sansa for something as necessary as lying. jon snow quickly got over his classism and realized his mistakes, which is quick character growth. (there are some times that he makes snide remarks or has bad thoughts towards women… but internalized misogyny does not apply to him because… well… he’s not a woman *shrugs.* i also wouldn’t agree with saying he’s a misogynist. he does have prejudice towards women who sit in towers and wait to be saved, but this is likely due to catelyn’s ice eyed glare and septa mordane. also, he never brings these prejudices out in the open, meaning he doesn’t discriminate against these women).
i bet a counter argument some people would try to make is that sansa doesn’t know better and has been raised this way or that and that this is the reason she exhibits these behaviors, just like jon, she can’t help how she was raised and needs someone to explain to her why her prejudices are wrong; this is a very bad argument because it ignores the fact that none of sansa’s other siblings have classist beliefs and arya doesn’t have internalized misogyny. bran and robb do not exhibit any prejudice towards women either, likely because they didn’t have catelyn giving them ice eyes everyday. now, on the thought of sansa’s other siblings, saying that arya was exhibiting “classist” behaviors or “internalized misogynistic” behaviors in the beginning is so wrong that i wanna laugh. does no one remember aryas, “the woman is important too,” quote, or remember aryas nickname? aka arya underfoot? lmao. i need receipts cause this ain’t checking out.
i can’t believe that alicent was compared to sansa under the asoiaf tag. contrary to show alicent, book alicent is not the same. show alicent is totally watered down and this takes away her agency. she was made into a mary sue, and to be honest, this kinda ticks me off. surely this was to make the greens more sympathetic, but it takes away her culpability. she was nasty in the books. truly a “classist,” a “liar,” and an “internalized misogynist” based on her attitude towards rhaenyra. actually… all three of those traits can be applied to show alicent as well now that i think about it but it’s much more subtle and her lessened agency makes it harder to spot at times. (also i haven’t finished HotD).
and really, tyrion hate? really? there’s a double standard for tyrion if there’s a double standard for anything in this fandom. he does some horrible things, i’m not denying this, but why is it so hard for people to understand that right now he is NOT mentally stable, which is in no part his own fault. he’s not a villain in asoiaf. he needs help and hope.
finally, to answer the ask, i also do not agree with those who call sansa a villain. she is not similar to viserys, the hound, or janos slynt in any way. but i also haven’t seen the post saying that about her, so clearly it wasn’t very popular. this further supports my claim that these people do not represent the whole group of antis.
now, who does sansa abuse? well, she’s verbally abusive to arya. but that’s the only thing i can think of. siblings can be horrible. generally horrible. from personal experience i know that sometimes young kids are just nasty because they don’t understand why their behavior is so wrong—and with the societal enforcement of sansa’s beliefs, of course she wouldn’t think that what she’s doing is wrong. taking this to the real world, other people who have maybe experienced this type of abuse by a sibling may not be very understanding of sansa. this type of stuff can trigger people. and it’s also hard to be understanding towards sansa when she thinks stuff like wishing margaery was her sister instead of arya. until she has development, many people will greatly dislike her for her attitude towards her sister who she bullied (an example being horseface remarks). bullying is abuse; we usually just use bullying to identify abuse that takes place in a school between children of a similar age.
regarding the previous passage, a pet peeve of mine is the: “you’ve clearly never had a sibling” argument some fans try to make in order to lessen aryas abuse. it hits too close to home at times and makes me sneer at some people’s ignorance. dany and arya were both abused by their siblings and are finally able to grow as people now that they’re not under viserys thumb and sansa’s shadow. the same applies to jon. he’s no longer under catelyn’s nasty glare so he can finally grow. catelyn and sansa were not nearly as bad as viserys, but the abuse is still there and shouldn’t be taken lightly.
to be honest, i think most sansa-antis are just annoyed that sansa stan’s ruin other characters to fit them into their headcanons, steal other characters themes, or bash the female characters they see as rivals to sansa—aka dany and arya. i truly doubt the whole group actually hates her character and are just annoyed with her stans—i bet once she starts to grow, more of these antis will become indifferent to her. i stated before that she’s very stagnant right now, and many people are not happy with some of the things she’s done and the fact that grrm hasn’t had her learn from her mistakes—lemon cake… her opinion towards mya stone… and the whole sweet sleep debacle. honestly, i may be optimistic in my opinion that grrm will have her grow drastically in the next book. and if she doesn’t end up realizing the wrongness of her prejudices then my opinion of her character will lower significantly.
the point of this post? stop calling whole groups of people misogynistic because they don’t share your opinion.

I just randomly thought about your Switched At Birth one shot again and can I just say, I think it’s so remarkable that you have written so many one shots that are so interesting that I find myself every once in a while thinking of them and trying to fill in the gaps in my head? This one in particular because there’s so many tropes it could fulfil while also being totally unique that I’m genuinely obsessed.
I used to only read book!canon fics but you have converted me into a modern setting AU stan. Can I also just say that I’m so grateful for you choosing to write your modern AUs based on the books and not the show (aka calling Asha by her actual name and not Yara? I swear a fic could be so well written it’d deserve a Pulitzer but if I read the names Yara or Talisa a part of me immediately gets turned off and I have to force myself to continue reading… same with mentions of past Sansa x R*ms*y).
Idk I just wanted to show you some love. I’ve had a really terrible year so far but going back into the fandom (after The Dreadful announcement lmao) and discovering your account (alongside a handful of other fantastic writers) has been a bright spot.
Allllsooooo I recently dreamed that the GOT cast was on Love Island (Luv Oisland)… I blame the Bachelor story for that idk. I don’t even like reality tv!
Anon, this is so sweet!!
I think that was one of the first prompt fics I ever wrote! Some of my favorite fics come from prompts, so shoutout to the people who send me them (even if I haven't written one in a while...)
I'm so, so sorry you've had a bad year, and I hope it gets better! It was so nice to see people pop back up after the Dreadful announcement! And there are some really really excellent writers in the fandom, even if it's not as active as it was during the show's heyday.
Also I love the idea that you're dreaming about reality TV because of my fic that is HILARIOUS.
As for the books vs show... I'm gonna put that under the cut cause I feel like my opinions on the show & show-based fic might offend some people lol.
I don't write show canon for a reason haha.
I don't like most of the later show characterizations - sad sack Jon in particular, but I've also expressed on here before that I'm not the biggest fan of bondage dress bitchy side-eye Sansa who tells the Hound that no, it was a good thing she was raped and abused, actually, because now she's a strong woman :) She wasn't before, before she was weak and silly and it took being sexually assaulted to be Better. Girl power! Ugh. They completely abandoned the parts of her character I love (her softness, her dreaminess, and especially her political astuteness when dealing with a mad ruler. Like, jesus, the way she was SO BAD at dealing with Dany still infuriates me). Despite all that, she's still one of my favorites on the show... not that that's saying a lot lol all the characters sucked by the end.
And I especially don't like a lot of the show-only decisions. Sansa being given to Ramsay, Arya becoming a literal psychopath mass murderer, the horrible way they did Dany's villain turn, Jon being exiled even though the people demanding it LEAVE THE COUNTRY AND THE KING IS HIS BROTHER-COUSIN. Even stuff as seemingly small as Talisa (the entire plot revolving around her and how it changes Robb's story, not necessarily the character herself).
Don't get me wrong, the show has some great moments, and I will forever be grateful for the Jonsa stuff in s6, because I don't know if I'd be a shipper without it (I didn't ship them when I was just reading the books because I didn't really think about it), but to me, the show is a wash and I cannot reconcile the decisions made. No fix-it will ever fix it for me, and I genuinely dislike anything that involves prior Sansa/Ramsay.
well, this went longer than I thought. I could literally rant about how bad the end of the show was forever

Possibly my favourite episode of the season. But could that be because it feels like they just remembered this show is really about Rebecca Welton and is just named after her boyfriend?? Not at all!!
Let’s go!!
Episode 10 - International Break
Tumblr media
Woah! What a way for reveal Nate left West Ham! 🫢
Shut up, George!! You’re just bitter you were shut at your job and it’s showing now
Ted! We want to spend every weekend with you! Please never leave
Is this really how they find out who got chosen?? Seems like something they’d personally get told first. I think the boys knew, but the coaches didn’t!! Hmm
‘Wait, hold on. Bumbercatch, you’re Swiss?’ ‘Yeah. Look at me’ this boy really is a man of mystery!! 😂
Poor Sam 🙁
But God love Jamie though! He’s come so far!! 🥰🥰
‘I am not your bro. We are now enemies, and soon, you will be my bitch’ woah, Mexico Dani is a whole other breed of dog, huh!! I’ll stick with Richmond puppy Dani, thanks 😂
YYEEEAAAHHHH!!
We love a convo that sounds like it’s about periods but is actually about wine 🫡
MADELINE KAHN REFERENCE!!! 😍😍 this alone could make this episode my favourite!!
Totally tracks though that Ted doesn’t like gossip
As much as I always want scenes of Ted & Rebecca alone, that reveal to Trent was brilliant. And of course he’s good at girl talk 😂
Please, they way Rebecca reacts to Ted is such married behaviour. AND TRENT IS SEEING IT ALL FIRST HAND!! I’m so excited
Oh, Ted. You’re cute. You knew exactly what they meant. You just wanted to make your wife smile. It’s okay, we get it 🥰
AND AGAIN WITH THE DEVIL BIT. Boy…
I’ll continue to say it; Nate & Jade are cute!
Fully expected her to flip them all off, not gonna lie
Omg I totally saw this coming, and yet it’s still heartbreaking 🥺
Keeley’s not stupid. She knows it’s not the board, Barbra
JUNO TEMPLE!!! 😢😢😢 (first time I got teary this episode)
Scary Mexico Dani 🤘🏼 You just know Cristo had a blast with this episode!! (Peep the guy in the back with the huge smile😂)
Slutty Ted in red with his arms out 🥵
‘It’s hard to see the ball when your eyes are full if tears’ fucking savage 😂
The Wunder Turd. Nice
Fuck Jane though
I think Trent’s next book should just be about Beard. That is an interesting man, for sure! Like, why do you need so many axes, my guy?!
Well that was awkward… but also a little sweet 🫣
‘The creepy old man that lives in the sewers’ Renee, you’ll always be famous to us
Okay, I could go on and on about this, but I think this is a great, subtle way to begin showing Rupert falling apart.
‘When they used to play by candlelight’ YES, REBECCA! FUCK THAT OLD MAN UP!! 😂
‘Some people just are t ready when they get their shot’ That is not at all what happened, Rupert
Oop she knows that’s bullshit, too
HAPPY UNCLE DAY, ROY!! 🎉🎉
Okay, I love Roy’s sister. And also the subtle call back to her actually being the doctor that treated Sharon last season 👍🏼 Nice
Of course that’s the order of Phoebe’s favourite holidays. Uncle Roy is number 1! (&2😉)
Uh oh, secrets out boys! 😂😂
How fucking cute though that Jamie gets a call (probably from Phoebe herself) inviting him to this party and he actually turns up with a really thoughtful gift 🥹 THE GROWTH IN THIS BOY IS GORGEOUS!!
Omg Eloide’s face journey in this scene is perfection. Phoebe has been grossly underused this show!
Also the cutest fucking present. She’s knows your inside is so bright and colourful, Roy! You shouldn’t hide it!
‘Your sister is fit’ ‘I will cut your eyes out’ 😂 okay, but like… I would 100% be behind these two being brother-in-laws, just saying 😂
SAM RICHARDSON!!! 😍 always a blast when he shows up!
And you just know from Toheeb himself that these scenes are a struggle to get through once Sam gets on a roll
But poor Sam, though. Edwin is such a dick
Poor Nate, too. He’s so lost right now 🥺
Yeah, Lloyd, shut up (which is what she meant to say)
Seeing her signs blocked off 🥺🥺 heartbreaking
Since when does her lady ship enter a room like that?? 😂 but I’m glad it means we get to see more physical comedy from Jeremy 👍🏼 Always a bonus!
So her order is Keeley, Ted, Sassy, Leslie and never her mother 😂 I love that actually
‘I hate to break it to you, Rebecca, but those children are dead’ made me laugh just as much as it did the first time! 😂
We love a protective Papa Higgins in this house 🥰 but boy seems traumatised by that story 😂
Oh don’t suck your tie, Leslie 🤦🏻‍♀️
So that photo has shown up on both Keeley & Ted’s phone, but whose did she take it on?? 🤔
That is a bullshit text, Jack. Absolutely no excuse. I knew I was right to not trust you from the start! 😡
‘Everything? Fuck no’ another great call back
Also hell yeah to a Keeley & Mae scene!! (Do have some thoughts about what I’ve seen some people say about this scene, though…)
Whether she’s drunk or making a joke, Keeley actually going with Mae’s full name being Maybe is genius!😂
I really need a Mae in my life. I feel like I could actually get my life in order after a conversation with this woman
Everyone not knowing what to do or how to react to him wearing this t-shirt is brilliant
(Also Red Right Hand playing over this is maybe the last little push I need to finally start Peaky Blinders once this show is done)
Beard trying to get Ted’s attention- amazing. But what was he doing on his phone that he was so focused on??
‘Okay, now I’m worried. Are you alive? Text ‘no’ if dead’ living for silly, real Rebecca! 🥰
The boys all getting together to watch all the games is beautiful 🥹 they’re all so supportive!!
Also genius work casting Colin & Ryan as the commentators for this match 👌🏼
Savage Dani!!
What are you decorating, Rebecca, that you have a decorating made easy’ pdf on your laptop?? 🤔
📢 THE ARMY MAN IS BACK!! 📢
Yo, Rupert is really struggling atm, huh!
Yes I gasped when he threw it on the floor, but had no doubt he’d bake back for it!
Rebecca is a gif sender. Of course she is
Rebecca has anxiety confirmed?? 🤔
Okay this scene with little Rebecca is absolutely gorgeous!! And did make me tear up a little, not gonna lie.
(As I’ve also said, I choose to believe Paul taught her to do that when she was little)
That is going to become his new favourite t-shirt, I can see it already. Something will eventually happen to it and he’s going to be devastated!!
Again, who the fuck is Leann?! Your name is Ruth, woman! 😂 it’s times like this that fanfic really screws with you 😂
‘I teach kids. I don’t mind cleaning up a mess’ tell him like it is, RuthLeann 😂
Aannndd it’s all falling into place finally. Took your time, Roy!!
‘I like clothes that tell the truth’ BARBARA!! You juicy minx 😂 I love you, please never leave!!
I’ve absolutely loved watching these two together 🥹
She’s so awkward, maybe a little bit autistic 🤷🏻‍♀️ makes sense!
Rupert’s being nice. Makes me feel weird…
‘How could I resist the chance of having a bunch of old men speak directly to my chest?’ Don’t try so hard, man. She’s not that funny!!
His assistant is called Bread. A play on Beard perhaps?? 🤔
Okay, what has he said about Rebecca to get a reaction from her like that??
Also this is deliciously awkward. I hope it comes out that Nathan told everyone he was sleeping with his assistant, as well as others, and that’s why he left. And that Bex left him too. You must suffer
Your ex-wife is also not stupid. She knows exactly what happened with your old assistant.
He introduced her as an owner, not his ex. HE’S TRYING SO HARD!!
I’ve had this exact exchange with many an older gentleman in my time. This is too real 🤢
This man and his obsession with Chicago-style hot dogs knows no bounds! 😂
Okay, these baby pictures are cute
Sam pulling the most out of a tiny little thing is wonderful 😂 wonder how long that actually went on for??
‘An untried dream’. Eww.
So Keeley does know how to text back! 🫢
I love how they bring things in from the actors themselves, assuming this really is Nick playing
‘Is this a fucking joke?’ FUCK THEM UP, GIRLIE!!
And Sam’s face 😂
They really just said let’s surround Hannah with kids this episode, huh 😂
Love her talking to a bunch of old men like they’re children, too
Jamie wearing 24 for Sam 🥹🥹🥹 yes, I have to pause until the tears go away
Roy, your handwriting is atrocious
How dare this show make me have a feeling towards Rupert 😡
I agree with you, Edwin, what a lovely speech indeed. Rebecca, you have come so far from the bitter ex-wife who just wanted to destroy something your ex-husband loved. You truly care and love the sport and your boys now and it’s delicious to witness 🥰🥰🥰
Omg that reveal with amazing!! (Although I will say, on my first watch I though initially the food on Tony’s head was because he’d been punched 🫣😂)
Those giggles were purely Hannah & Tony
Nick is absolutely killing in this season. This scene is a great showcase of exactly how these types of families are. It’s beautiful to witness
Also shoutout to the actor playing his dad. He’s done an amazing job too!!
I’m feeling so many emotions watching this scene. Tony is showcasing beautifully exactly how charming Rupert can be. Reminiscing about old times, getting food out of her hair. Doing his ‘Rupert act’ that likely always works for him. But not with her. Not anymore. She’s the strong one now and he’s lost 🥹 Good for you, Rebecca!
She has to look now, Roy, because nobody can read your handwriting 😂
Brett & Juno kill me. His letter is just beautiful and made me tear up every time I’ve listened to it 🥹 AND HE TOLD HER HE STILL LOVES HER!! 🥰
‘Sincerely yours, Roy Kent. XOXO’ 😂😂 never change, please
They really are beautiful and I can’t wait to see them coming back together!
Keeley opening that door and screaming at Rebecca was *chefs kiss* 😂 Juno Temple, comedy queen!
And I want what they have!! I love how she can share her good news, ask for a hug, then tell her she’s cross with her friend. And her friend completely understands. It’s wonderful
Again, being accountable for you actions. Rebecca doesn’t even have to say anything to her
I’ve seen people against Rebecca funding KJPR, but I think it makes perfect sense. Rebecca has the money and she wants to do something within her means to help her friend reach her full potential. Why wouldn’t she help?!
Keely’s disgust is all of us 😂
Baby girl is finally at the top of her mountain! Now just needs her lightening 😉
I love that the salute has become Rebecca & Roy’s thing 🥰
Wilk is shocked! Bit what a beautiful gesture!
Barbara left Jack and wants to stay with Keeley, as she should! I’ve said from the beginning she knew what Jack was like, but I think the difference is she actually likes Keeley…
I THINK THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF A BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP 🩷🎉🥰
Puppy Dani is back!!
Roy wears a colour other than black (or charcoal heather grey) and Beard learns he can share bits of himself with people. Yes, we’re coming to an end, guys…
She didn’t get rid of the painting!!
Also doesn’t need saying, but how fucking gorgeous is Hannah in this scene! That dress & colour on her are delightful. She’s so fucking soft now!!
She didn’t open the biscuits right away! 👀 and she shuffled closer to Ted 👀 is this it, girls? Is it happening?? I’m not ready! What do I do?!! 🫠
The little smile after she says so no longer cares about beating Rupert 🫣 He’s so proud of her!!
The heart eyes 😍 Ted, she is still your boss! She’s not your wife yet!!
OMFG!! 😂😂 how many times do you think she had to do that before she could do it without laughing?? 😂
‘As long as none of that tree piss gets in my mouth, I’m actually okay with it’ Okay, Ted. We get it!!
Well that episode was absolutely beautiful! On so many fronts!!
I do have more thoughts about a few points which I may elaborate on at some point, but I do feel like it’s showing we’re on the home stretch now 😢
Looks like we’re getting Mumma Lasso next episode, too!! 🫣 Kinda vibrating with excitement, but at the same time telling myself not to expect too much! But she’s in Richmond so it’s only right to assume there’d be a scene between her & Rebecca, right??
Only 2 more left babes!! 🫡

@drakonprince approached her grace at her name day feast:
IF YOU WILL: please imagine the (modern) childhood birthday parties of Rhaenys+Aegon+Dany+Jonaemon. Bouncy castles. Petting zoos. Popular performer of their choosing. Beach trips. When they are older, going exploring in ancient pyramids and castles. Dany's birthday is no less extravagent than the others!
Dany's birthday (general verse) may be difficult in a certain sense, but Rhaegar never wants her to feel like that's her doing, or to ever feel like her birth was a bad thing. SO PLEASE IMAGINE: Rhaegar, in escaped the wall au, plotting with Missandei to put together a party when he finally figures out when Dany's nameday is! He has over a decade of celebrations to make up for, and while he may not be able to shower her with gifts the way he could in the past, he does the next best thing: plays for her, sings for her songs he knows she never would have heard, old songs of their House (it's the first time he's played since he was sent to the wall 🥺). Also: Rhaegar and Missandei putting together a book about House Targaryen!!! Of all the lesser-known facts Rhaegar knows!! Stuff he heard from Uncle Maester Aemon!! A book that's neither glorifies nor demonizes their House, but presents them as people existing in a family, as a family 🥺
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pleaaaaase, i'm literally sitting here now thinking about the total juxtaposition between canon and this modern configuration where dany actually loves her birthday and actively looks forward to it. every year, from the time she is able to make requests, she does so freely (bc of course she feels so safe making requests to her brother and elia)! and when she learns how to write, she starts creating lists of ideas to bring before them! screaming about the trips when they're all older . . . how, prior to their day of travel, dany literally cannot sleep due to her anticipation of the adventure. does she, in the middle of the night, seek rhaenys, aegon, and/or jon/aemon, hoping that someone else is awake to share in her excitement? yes! those celebrations in particular always make dany reflect on how it doesn't necessarily feel like it's just one of their birthdays; it really feels like a celebration of them all just being together, loving each other, cherishing each other. in terms of her own birthday, ultimately, while she is deeply, immensely grateful for her exorbitant parties (how could she not be???), the truest gift of all, the thing she always looks forward to the most, is being surrounded and loved and celebrated by her family.
now, general verse!!!! don't mind me while i sit here weeping. i still need to write a full thing about it but . . . dany's namedays in canon are a grim affair due to viserys' projection of the fault of rhaella's death onto her. because of this, she's essentially been conditioned to just . . . walk past her own nameday. so, any, and i mean any effort that rhaegar puts into celebrating it, into showing her the joy to be had in that day, brings tears to her eyes. real tears (that she tries to blink away, but some will spill no matter how hard she tries . . . and perhaps she calls herself a childish fool internally for crying 🥺). please imagine the sheer excitement on her face when she sees him poised with a harp! the way her lips part when he sings the first note! the awe displayed so rawly on her face! she never doubted the descriptions of her brother's skill, but to hear about his talent and to actually hear for herself are two different things. picture the tears (bc ofc she's moved to tears LIKE PLS). picture the queen melting away, revealing the sweet and vibrant girl beneath, who requests songs, who asks to hear some of them again, who hums or sings along softly once she commits some of the words to memory, who, tossing all care to the wind, sways and dances! imagine how her eyes shine when that book, this book of their house, is presented to her . . . how, at the end of the festivities, she goes to sleep clutching it to her chest, housing this lost family in her arms and heart. also . . . the way dany reads passages over and over, going directly to rhaegar with questions, wanting to hear his own thoughts in his voice.

"Also, is interesting how Arya stans want that specific plot about Sansa to give it to Arya."
Pray tell. How is QitN a part of Sansa's plot in the books?
Show me the passages. Show me where the Northern plot revolves around Sansa AND her claim.
There isn't. Her entire arc is around the Vale on DWD. A QiTN or Lady of Winterfell is not even mentioned on her chapters, and as such, till Dance, Sansa had no leadership role explored. Not as Dany had, not as Bran, and not even as Arya had on ASoS.
You are even forgetting that, Jon AND Bram having a stronger claim to end as King than Sansa OR Arya herself. Jon being canonic Robb's heir, and Bram being the eldest true born male son of Catelyn and Ned.
Funny how u don't mind their existence in the first place so u can have your dreams "Sansa will end up as Queen" in the books as well.
"Also, George talked he knows the final of the main characters, and Sansa is one of them".
Yes, he knows the ending of the MAIN characters and Sansa is NOT one of them.
"Five central characters will make it through all three volumes, however, growing from children to adults and changing the world and themselves in the process. In a sense, my trilogy is almost a generational saga, telling the life stories of these five characters, three men and two women. The five key players are Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and three of the children of Winterfell, Arya, Bran, and the bastard Jon Snow."
Do you see the name of your precious little bird on that quote? Heh. No.
So why Sansa ended as Queen?
It is pretty simple actually. Sansa IS D&D favorite character since the very begining of GoT. That is the reason they CHANGED an ENTIRE ARC to self insert her on the Northern plot.
That is not ME saying, D&D said it themselves.
“We really wanted Sansa to play a major part this season,” Benioff said. “If we were going to stay absolutely faithful to the book, it was going to be very hard to do that. There was as subplot we loved from the books, but it used a character that’s not in the show.”
If you want to read the entire interview the link is here
Grrm also said many many times to count that the only the books are canon, and how Game of Thrones and ASoIaF are like parallel universes. If you search even on my blog u will see the sources.
One of those many times he points that out:
“At some points, when [Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss] and I had discussions about what way we should go in, I would always favor sticking with the books, while they would favor making changes,” he said. - Time Magazine, 2017
“The show is the show and it’s developed a life of its own at this point. You have to remember that I started writing this story in 1991 and I first met David and Dan in 2007. I was living with these characters and this world for 16 years before we even started working on the show. They’re pretty fixed in my mind and I’m not going to change anything because of the show, or reaction to the show, or what fans think. I’m just still writing the story that I set out to write in the early 1990s.” - Time Magazine, 2017
Now. Where this idea of QITN Arya comes from?
It is a THEORY about Winds, and is said she would be crowned after meeting Lady StoneHeart in the riverlands before giving her the gift of mercy to Catelyn, so she can finally rest.
This theory also says she will likely pass the crown to Jon after they meet again, full filing Robb's Will.
The theory is not about Arya ending her story as QiTN.
Out of QiTN, and again with the Northern plot, legally speaking Arya Stark IS the Lady of Winterfell, since the lords don't know about Jeyne, and the North went to war for Arya Stark name. That is canonic.
Sansa is NOT going to help to reclaim Winterfell from the Baltons. It will be or Jon or Stannis. Since it revolves around them and NOT her.
They are so real (+correct) for posting this

If you were to do a crossover between Kingdom Hearts and Game of Thrones, how would you do it?
I honestly feel like it wouldn’t be that hard?
People might act like sex in needed in Game of Thrones, but it’s really not, imo (the only instance it is, is when characters such as Dany are fighting against rapists). And the books had less of it than the show did.
I also don’t think them cursing is necessary (but if it is, the Japanese version of KH actually curses some).
For me, the thing that really sets Game of Thrones apart is that every character is gray, and that the “good guys” usually don’t win but the bad guys do. Though that isn’t entirely true. Like, A Song of Ice and Fire set itself apart by showing how being a good person actually gets you screwed over in life, and the people who don’t have qualms about doing bad things win over you. But at the same time... if you do bad things and hurt good people, people are going to remember that and it’s going to bite you in the ass in the end. So while the story started with the heroes, the Starks, essentially getting annihilated, the chickens have now come to roost, and the survivors are getting more powerful while people like Cersei are starting to have to lay in the bed that they made. All of that is the important part of this story to me.
And I think you can easily have that in Kingdom Hearts.
I’m going to treat Game of Thrones like it’s just a one world visit in a KH game, but if you want me to do more than that, I can:)
Sora, Donald, and Goofy--or whoever--would clearly come into the “War of the Dawn part of the story. I.E: the fight against the Ice Zombies. As the real moral of A Song of Ice and Fire, is that if humans waste time squabbling over stupid things, they’re going to miss the bigger picture and it’ll be too late for them. (And the others/White Walkers are supposed to somewhat be a metaphor for Climate Change.) And of course our heroes help Jon Snow, who is really heading this, fight and defeat them.
But since it’s still Game of Thrones, there’s still probably still political intrigue, mistrust, and betrayals going on. Sora and company probably get fed the Sparks Notes version of everyone’s stories, and try to help lessen tensions between them so that they’ll actually work together and adhere to the moral of this story. Sora uses his super power of connecting to other people that way.
Though Sora is probably surprised to hear some of the crazy things these characters have lived through, or the crazy things they’ve done to each other. If we want to add some gray to Kingdom Hearts like Game of Thrones is gray (so Sora learns from the worlds he goes to)... maybe hearing how the Starks were screwed over by some people they trusted, makes him wonder if he should be so trusting. Perhaps he remembers how his “friends being his power” was almost his downfall in Chain of Memories. But Sora being Sora, he shakes off this funk. But it’s still a chilling thought.
And then, maybe to honor that both series are somewhat puzzle box ones, maybe Sora somehow gives the Game of Thrones character a clue about who Azor Ahai is, and they help him figure out whatever insane new plot conviction Nomura has worked into his plot.
IDK. LOL
If you want, I can try and think about some character interactions, too. But I will say, that I think comparing Kairi to Sansa, Naminé to Daenerys, Xion to Arya, and Aqua to Brienne has always been pretty apt. Though in some ways, you might say that Kairi is more Dany and Naminé is more Sansa, but meh. I make the Naminé and Dany comparison, because both girls were abused and just going along with things until they both found their power and eventually said “no”. And Kairi with Sansa because, for the most part, Sansa has somehow never lost her kindness throughout everything. She somehow even felt bad when her torturer Joffrey was murdered! And that’s very Princess of Heart Kairi. But I could also see people saying Naminé is more Sansa, because Naminé isn’t snarky like Kairi (though to be honest, Sansa isn’t a perfect flower. Because she at least has a history of bullying her little sister some. But she was a dumb child. Who cares?)--and neither are a fighter--and Kairi is more fiery and  active like Dany. I can see both sides. But Kairi definitely gets the Sansa treatment of being a victim more than Naminé does (probably partly because Naminé didn’t exist for a while). Oy...
And while it’s just a coincidence, of course, and does not matter in the grand scheme of things (because if I instead thought Kairi was more like Arya, I would say that and not care what character looked like who), I do find it funny that I see Kairi as Sansa, Naminé as Daenerys, Xion as Arya, and Aqua as Brienne, and they all sort of look like those characters. LOL
...I got off-topic there. Sorry.
And thanks for the ask!
Edit: And Sora would love seeing Dany’s dragons.

Note
do u remember the characters who were complimented the most by their beauty in the books?
off the top of my head (and keeping in mind i’m still on asos and haven’t reread feastdance at least since the show ended so like 3-4 years) characters who get complimented most often for beauty are -
cersei
sansa
dany
margaery
jaime (not joking, he doesn’t get called handsome, he gets called beautiful. think more brad pitt and less george clooney)
joffrey (similar to jaime, altho tbf most of the comments on his beauty come from sansa)
loras
characters who are less complimented mostly due to them not being in every book but still notable beauties include-
arianne
catelyn & lysa - i’m like 80% sure people comment on lysa being beautiful when she’s younger & less so now, but don’t quote me there. i know people comment on cat being hot af when she’s younger, and multiple people remark on her hair so she clearly still Has It, she’s just not in a position where men are throwing themselves at her feet in the series given, ya kno, the war
melisandre
roslin frey
margaery’s lady’s court - her girls, taena, and alerie are all described at some point or another as being beautiful
taena of myr - wanted to mention her specifically, people tend to think of her as striking
val the wildling
ygritte the wildling - notable that this is incredibly conditional bc jon only starts referring to her as beautiful after they start sleeping together BUT the wildlings consider her beautiful bc of her hair
rohanne webber
characters noted to be beautiful by people who are clearly fishing for a compliment to pay her (aka, She Is Beautiful To Me, I Understand Her)-
jeyne westerling - i want to add her bc you have cat, robb, and jaime all acknowledge she’s “pretty enough” but are won over by her after talking to her, which probably speaks more to how she carries herself than her actual looks. but as a westerling stan, it’s notable To Me haha
brienne - i need to include this bc the “she could almost be a lady she could almost be a knight” is one of my favorite lines in the series, it makes me crazy and i think any post about beauty that doesn’t include brienne isn’t complete. that brienne gets the “brienne the beauty” moniker bc she’s ugly even as jaime keeps thinking about how she’s beautiful in some way or another is, imo, notable in how george sees & defines beauty (very much in the eye of the beholder, and that love can make you search for beauty in someone who is objectively not beautiful according to The Societal Standards)
arya - ned compares her to lyanna (and obviously ned isn’t gonna tell his daughter “you’re an uggo my sister was hot as fuck tho”) & gendry & edric both get a lil flustered over her
ellaria sand - noted that she’s not strictly beautiful but “something draws the eye” which seems like jeyne it’s about how she carries herself than her actual looks
jeyne poole - i mean. lots of comments about how she’s pretty ish and they’re clearly meant cruelly, almost as a way of tormenting her (no fancy last name, no wolf’s blood, not even pretty enough to get someone to rescue her)
pre-asoiaf mentioned in the main series for their beauty include-
lyanna stark
ashara dayne
missy blackwood
barba bracken
rhaegar targaryen
and pre-asoiaf characters noted to be beautiful in twoiaf or f&b-
rhaenys targaryen (the conqueror)
nymeria of ny sar
rhaena the lesbian
alyssa velaryon
jocelyn baratheon
viserra targaryen
rhaenys velaryon
rhaenyra targaryen - notable that she’s considered beautiful as a child but less so as an adult (bc westeros is full of fucking weirdos)
helaena targaryen - described as being more beautiful than alicent and that’s really it
daenaera velaryon - ditto on westeros being full of weirdos lol
jaehaera targaryen - again. she is like 12 when she dies but half the realm is commenting on this beautiful child. i hate these people so much.
baela targaryen
lady sam hightower
something that’s notable is that george makes a continued distinction between “pretty” and beautiful - alysanne targaryen is considered pretty but not beautiful, for example. so there’s people like jeyne westerling who are “pretty enough” as in, not ugly, not plain, but not, as jaime puts it “beautiful enough to lose a kingdom over” as in they are drop dead, model, helen of troy type gorgeous.
that’s also why i wanted to include the “fishing for compliments” type girls bc these women are very aware that they’re not pretty enough and often wind up carrying themselves differently as a response to this - if they can’t be gorgeous they’ll be so disarming, so striking, that people will spin back around to beautiful. ygritte is the biggest example of this imo because how jon perceives her beauty is very tied to how his relationship with her develops - he purposefully conflates her beauty with her violence bc he wants to find her violence beautiful bc that would make his life infinitely easier, and after she dies he’s very clear headed that she isn’t that pretty but she is TO HIM, she is beautiful in his memory because of his feelings for her. it makes him very wary of melisandre & val as a result - because he conflates beauty and violence in ygritte, it makes him wary of other harsh & beautiful women. or take lyanna, who is remembered often as being beautiful yet in ned’s memory, this beauty is part of what dooms her and he is outwardly hostile whenever people mention her beauty - to ned, that beauty brought only horror so he doesn’t dwell on it.
there’s lots of commentary here on what “beautiful” actually means from person to person, so while i would say the first group are more objectively beautiful, it’s also important to think about context - who is thinking they’re beautiful, why they’re thinking this, and what their relationship is.

Yes, thank you.  You took the words right out of my mouth.  It just doesn’t make sense.  Arya is a disobedient acolyte, a 12 year old girl who can’t hide the cracks in the identities she wears (she’s a good actress but she can’t completely lose herself in her roles in the way the FM want her to), and she doesn’t even know how to change faces herself and probably never will.  I have never bought the idea that Arya would be sent out on an assassination mission outside of the watchful eye of Braavos, much less to assassinate an immensely powerful queen.  It doesn’t make sense.  And I completely agree and was thinking of it just yesterday how even if GRRM wrote this into the book I still wouldn’t believe it.  It would be so unbelievable for me that it would take me straight out of the story because it would be so contrived.  And honestly it would feel unearned.  I love Arya, she’s my favorite character, but she isn’t without flaws (like every character) and she needs to earn such a huge thing, because let’s face it, if Arya got this assassination, it would mean she was no longer an acolyte but a full on FM, which we’ve seen takes a lot of work.  Years of work.  Arya is not going to be sent out to kill someone.  Not Dany, and not anyone in Westeros.  I keep seeing people in this fandom speculate (usually the haters, not gendrie) who think she will be set out to kill Jon or Bran or Cersei, and I’m just sitting there thinking “did they actually read Arya’s chapters?” because that’s impossible and goes against the FM rules.  Arya can not be sent out to assassinate people who she knows the name of and who she’s met before.
Now I can entertain the idea that the FM have always had ulterior motives with Arya and so they might pretend to send her someplace in the hopes she does what they expect her to do to further their own goals.  I personally do think they have ulterior motives, and never planned on Arya drinking from the cup, but I still am not convinced they would do this.  At most I think they’d just allow Arya to leave with minimal consequence (I do think there will be consequence, just not anything too extreme).
If Arya were to meet Dany in Essos, I’d say that she would either meet Dany in Braavos, or Arya would encounter her in Volantis.  I do think there is a possibility that if Arya and Jeyne do meet in Braavos, Arya may travel with Jeyne and Massey, which means she would be hanging around while Massey gathers sellswords, which all seem to be either around Volantis or Meereen.  But I still think it’s a long shot considering how much story would be devoted to that, despite the characters needing to get to Westeros by the end of TWOW.
But yeah, other than this small thing I completely agreed with gendrie’s post. :)
I read @gendrie 's post about Arya's possible chapters in TWOW and I want to thank them, I really liked it. I agree that many of these points are possible and I would love to read about them.
But I wanted to geave my unsolicited opinion on the tag: #and im really reconsidering the possibility of arya being sent to kill dany. It's a fairly popular speculation, but I don't believe it, in fact I won't believe it even if Martin himself writes it.
Arya has only been among the facelessmen for a year. I distinctly remember reading an interview in which when the interviewer asks about Arya as an assassin, grrm replies (I'm quoting from memory) 'you say she will be a killer, now she's just an apprentice'.
The only mission where Arya had to kill someone for the facelessmen in the published books was the old insurance man. And in this mission she was constantly checked as if it were a lesson.
If we count the sample chapter, I agree that Raff's murder is also part of a mission given by the facelessmen. But it always take place in their city, under the eye of Izembaro (who probably collaborates with the HoBaW) and the target is a simple guard.
Dany has dragons and is a queen, surrounded by armies of loyal men. Why would the facelessmen send a 12-year-old apprentice alone, with about a year of training behind her, to kill a target so difficult and so far away from their surveillance.
Let's also add the fact that Arya has shown that she has difficulty digesting the ideology of the HoBaW and that she is not new to rebel against their rules.
She is the same person who expressly told the kindly man "He killed the slave? He should have killed the masters!" and thus has already expressed sympathy for Dany's ideology.
These are all reasons why Arya would be the worst person for this hypothetical mission. I mean, am I to believe that the training to become a skilled and self-sufficient facelessman is so short? And that's also why I don't believe all those theories that Arya will return to Westeros because of a mission to kill someone important.

I’m asking this because I am genuinely curious and cannot understand why. Why do you hate Dany so much? I mean I’m not a fan of Dany either but you are on a whole other level. It’s sort of like the irrational way some people hate Sansa.
This is either a genuine first question, or this is a continuation of the accusation of me being a misogynist.
There are people who dislike her way more than me. But if you’re asking, I don’t hate her. If you’re talking about how I write her, it’s because it’s fun to write her as a villain.
I don’t think I’m as bad as Sansa antis simply because I don’t go around trying to instigate drama. Also, unlike Sansa antis, I have NEVER ONCE shipped Dæny with her abusers. I don’t ship her with Drogo or Jorah or even Daario.
I don’t go to her fans and go to her inbox and call her names. I am proud to say I have never sent anyone anon hate. There are a few people I follow and follow me her love her and I leave them be because they enjoy her for reasons that I don’t understand but these are our personal blogs so who am I to dictate their fandom experience. I try not to engage with her stans, hence making sure I tag everything properly and change her name within the posts.
Taking my fics into account, I have made anti posts 52 times out of the thousands of other posts that I have made. And it’s only 33 posts if you take out all of the posts about my fics. Tagged as anti merely so that fans of her wouldn’t have to see mean things said about her in the tags. My posts are more critical in nature, I just label them as anti because I feel like that tag is the one that will be blocked by most of her fans rather than “Dæny critical” or any variation of that.
The first time I even mentioned thinking Political Jon was a possible thing (prior to season 8 happening) and why I would be disappointed if Political Jon wasn’t a thing and having posted NOTHING else about ASOIAF or GOT on my blog, I instantly got hate anon for disliking Dæny (who I hadn’t even mentioned in the post). It was the first and only time I had even mentioned my feelings about the show. I wasn’t an active participant of the fandom at that point and I said one thing and instantly got anon hate, which I hadn’t gotten in the four years I had already been on this site at point.
Even when she is a POV character in my fics, I don’t tag her in them for Ao3 so my fics don’t clog up her character’s tag since I update weekly and, if I did, my fics where she is a villain would show up 3 times every week.
And I was honestly more ambivalent to Dæny in the beginning, but some of her more rabid fans who call Sansa a “raped bitch” to me because I dare say that Dæny is in the wrong in situations can be highly annoying. Again, I always tag my things accordingly, I change the spelling of her name in the actual post so I don’t accidentally show up in the search, and yet I see screenshots of my work on Twitter of people making fun of it, or on here of people making fun of it. Or degrading my thoughts simply because I dare disagree with them. You know what I do on here? Block them. They don’t want to have a civil conversation and merely want to stir up hate them I simply block them.
I am critical of Dæny. I feel sorry for her more than anything (more so Book!Dæny since she is just a teenager). I don’t think I talk about her that often.
Part of what perhaps annoys me the most about her character in the show is how she treats Jon when she thinks they are in a relationship. It’s highly abusive and, sadly, very similar to how my sister-in-law treats my brother in terms of how she tried to isolate him from my family and the way she likes to use him as a prop to make herself look good. So some of the things she did in the show made me uncomfortable because it had hit a little too close to home.

Hii! I'm always checking first thing in the morning if you posted any prompts coz it sets my mood right away!
I was wondering if you could do one where Debbie calls Lou constantly "Louise" and not her pet name for fun, and Lou asks her offended while the other would just shrug. Then Debbie would soon cut it off. I think it would be cute. Have a good day!
Tumblr media
“Louise!”
The blonde’s face soured with disgust at the name, biting her tongue and shaking her head. She had to laugh at her wife. Debbie never ceased to know how to push her buttons. But usually it took a few rounds of Lou not paying attention or being in trouble for things to amount to the use of her full name. But it wasn’t like Debbie had been calling her again and again or she’d done something wrong.
The kitchen was clean. Their bed was made. Dani was off at pre-school. As insane as it seemed, Lou was holed up in their home office, putting together paperwork so they could file their taxes early. Something teenage on-the-run criminal Lou had never imagined would be her forte or nerdy something she may have even enjoyed.
“Louuuuuuuiiiiiiise, baby.”
“Coming!” Lou sang loudly, rolling her eyes as she grumbled a quiet “Deborah,” under her breath.
“Need something, honey?” Lou asked, coming down the steps to find Debbie in the kitchen, palming through the cabinets as if she was looking for something.
“Yeah,” Debbie sighed. “I just can’t remember what it was.”
“You’re looking for something, but you don’t know what you’re looking for?” Lou smirked, raising an eyebrow. “Maybe put your mind off it for a bit and it’ll come to you and then I can help you look for it.”
“Thanks, Louise,” Debbie smiled, kissing the blonde’s cheek before spinning away, heading into the living room.
The blonde’s jaw twitched in irritation, but she tried to brush it off. If anyone could get away with calling her by her given name, it was Debbie, even if it made her want to scream slightly.
“Want to watch a movie or something now that I’m down here?” Lou suggested, sinking into her favorite chair as Debbie curled up on the couch.
“I was just gonna read, actually,” Debbie smiled, waving her book up in the air. “But thanks, Louise. Maybe after dinner?”
There it was again. Lou was grateful that he wife missed her eyeroll, settling back into the chair as she whipped out her phone, scrolling through her texts as she merely sighed at the fifty memes Constance had sent to their group chat even though they had lectured her about what constituted a proper group text a solid dozen times. Facebook was just annoying. Instagram was useless. She couldn’t even be entertained by the comments on Daphne’s latest premiere post from her fan club that was only made up of Daphne herself.
“Louise?” Debbie asked softly. “Could you flick that lamp on over there? Having trouble seeing the pages with the rain making it all dark in here.”
“Yes,” Lou spoke through gritted teeth, smacking the lamp on with a bit more force than was necessary. “It would be my pleasure, Deborah.”
“Thanks, baby,” Debbie winked, before turning back to her book for a moment, Lou saying a silent thank you and a prayer, never more grateful to hear the pet name come from Debbie’s lips.
“Of course, honey,” Lou smiled, slipping her phone in her pocket as she leaned forward to reach for the remote.
“Oh, Louise, that reminds me!”
“That’s it,” Lou exhaled, tossing the remote back down on the coffee table as it rattled for a moment. “Why in the world are you full naming me like that? You know I can’t stand my name.”
Debbie’s face dipped behind her book as she mumbled something that Lou couldn’t make out, standing up to walk over to Debbie, snatching the book out of her hands as Debbie looked up, grinning as she tried to bite back a giggle.
“Six,” Debbie smirked, snatching the book back from Lou as she sat it in her lap smugly.
“Yes, it’s almost six. Did you want to start thinking about dinner, or—“ Lou sighed, scratching at her head.
“No,” Debbie grinned. “Took me six times calling you that before you snapped. Wonder how long you can last next time. You really upped your hame. Last time, it was three. I’m impressed.”
“You were doing it on purpose?” Lou gaped, looking down at her wife, unamused as she crossed her arms.
“Danny used to do it to me,” Debbie shrugged, blowing Lou a kiss. “Wanted to see how long you could last. Always used to drive me crazy.”
“Oh, you drive me crazy alright,” Lou sighed, shaking her head. “You really that bored, love?”
“No,” Debbie grinned. “Why? Something on your mind, Louise?”

The Cold
How You discovered the cold is the girls' weakness. Daniela x You Centered
You've been at the castle for a handful of months by now
Ever since that faithful night you saved the youngest daughter from the Hunters
And almost lost your life because of it
You have been a very welcomed household member
Especially by a certain Dimitrescu
Daniela has made it pretty obvious that she wants you
At first it was just a lot of cheesy pick-up lines
Forward touches
And her telling you the explicit things she wants to do with you
But within the last few months
She's taken a genuine interest in you
Beyond just physical
She's kind to you
Talks hours on end with you
About everything and anything
She likes to take you on walks
And watch TV shows with you
And just be around you
So you two have decided to actually try a real relationship
It's taken some work
Mostly you trying to show Daniela what an actual relationship is
And not from her books or movies
Or some of her delusions
It's a work in progress
But it's definitely worth it
The only thing she struggles with is
Trust
She'll tell you every trivial thing about her
And make it seem like you know her
But almost half a year into this
And you learn from a maid
That Daniela had a whole different life
That she wasn't born a Dimitrescu
She was made into one
You have to play it off to the maid
That you knew all this
That of course your girlfriend told you
That she tells you everything
You play it off well
But behind the mask
Your heart breaks
Have you two not been working on this?
You opened up to her
About your life
How your mother and sister died
How your father was nothing more
Than a shell of a man
And how you watched
Your brother die in front of you
Daniela knows all of this
She knows almost everything about you
And the most you know is
Her favorite color is green
You think about stomping around the castle and yelling out Daniela's name
Confronting her and ask a million questions
But
"Love! There you are! I've been searching for you!"
She's always been so affectionate
But you need to stand your ground
"I'm sorry, Daniela. But I'm upset with you and I just needed space"
"I-love," she reaches to touch you and
You back away
There's obvious hurt in her eyes
It pains you to see it
But you need to know
"You weren't born a Dimitrescu?"
A small smile "well no, love. Of course not-"
"Who were you before?"
"I-i dont remember. But that doesn't matter, why are you upset?"
"And you didn't tell me that?"
You aren't angry
How could you be?
You must have done something to cause her not to trust you
If anything
You're hurt
"Dani, I have told you everything about me. My family, my childhood, my hopes and dreams and fears. The demons that keep me up at night-and and all I know about you is that you hate coffee cause it's too bitter"
"I-i that's important too! I just don't have any life to talk about! It's gone and it was useless to say-"
"You are still a person, Dani. A complex person with thoughts and feelings and fears and fuck, even dreams! There is more to you than your favorite number is 17 and you love romance novels"
A stretch of silence and tears building in your eyes
You're angry that your selfishness got the best of you
You shouldn't have said any of that
It's not her fault she doesn't trust you
"It's okay if you don't trust me. Trust takes time to build and I'll wait. I'm sorry, love. I just need space for a moment"
You hurry off to the door
Seeing her broken face is too much
The snowfall comes down steady
The cool air feels good on your skin
The castle is always so hot
And they refuse to open windows
The cold air will be nice
A walk by yourself to clear your head
You hurry outside and welcome the cold
The snowfall is just so
Beautiful
Down the steps you go
A quick walk around the garden
That's all you need
You didn't notice a second figure follow you
"L-love..."
Daniela stands still at the top of the stairs
Her arms wrap around herself
Stubborn girl
You slowly climb back up
Removing your jacket
She always said she hated the cold
But you never knew why
Until now
"Love, I'm sorry for snapping I-"
Something is wrong
Her skin
It's starting to crystallize
That spark in her eyes is slowly fading out
"DANI!"
You go to wrap her in your arms
She's always called you her 'little heater'
Always said she feels the most secure in your arms
But
Your hand touches her shoulder
A piece of it falls off
Your screams alerts a few maids
They all help you rush Daniela back inside
They all immediately add more wood to the fireplace
Hurry to lay down hot towels on Daniela
One tells you to hold her
The image of a piece of her falling off
Stings your mind
"Y/N, we need you to get it together. Lady Daniela will die if you don't do as we say"
You've never held Daniela this gently before
A few minutes pass before she begins to twitch
Her skin slowly goes back to normal
And her eyes
That spark of life returns
Her body shivers violently
And she curls fully into you
"M-my little h-heater"
You hold her tightly
And you two stay there for what feels like hours
Once the shakes stop
And Daniela no longer feels like a frozen bag
She speaks
"I trust you, my love. I mean, I just showed you my family's weakness"
Just like Daniela
All or nothing
"Love, you could've opened up with a 'I use to dream of becoming a teacher' or something less dramatic"
"What fun would've that been?"
A few sweet kisses later
"I'm sorry, Dani. Just because I opened up, doesn't mean you should have to rush"
"I wanted to tell you-things about me! But, no one has ever took interest into me like that. It's usually people wanting me to spare their life, trying to kill me or looking for a quick fuck"
"I love you, Dani. And I'm here for the long haul, if you'll have me"
Somehow
Daniela always manages to make every kiss
Feel like the first time
Fireworks, electricity, the whole Angel chorus singing
Every kiss just screams her love
This one is no different
"I love you, Y/N"
She begins to tell you of her life
Of who she was before
Of what she was told at least
And from that moment
Your relationship began to flourish past anyone's expectations

Sansa is very inadequate in terms of leadership, justice and politics throughout the five books. But when we look at Arya, even though she is younger than Sansa, these themes are very prominent in Arya's story.
I don't really think it's fair to argue that Arya or Sansa is stronger on this point? Arya's story certainly contains themes of justice; so does Sansa's. Arya demonstrates smallscale leadership; Sansa maybe exhibits less but I think perhaps that's no surprise given she's been a hostage the entire time - given the opportunity she demonstrates charisma and charm. On politics - I mean Sansa's surrounded by politics from practically the moment Ned's killed. Arya has her own insights, but it seems odd to argue that she vastly excels over Sansa here?
Also, GRRM said that Robb's will is important and will be revealed in the next book.
Probably in relation to Jon? There's always been a bit of a question mark over whether he included Jon here (though I don't believe Jon is destined to rule Winterfell).
Sansa will certainly be better, but her story is not enough to become ruler of the north. She has many more obstacles in front of her than her siblings. The Stark children need their wolves to prove their identity.
What do you think Sansa is destined to do? I think that's kind of absent from a lot of arguments that she won't - some notion of where you believe her arc leads instead?
And I would agree Sansa has obstacles - but would you really say more than Arya? Jeyne Poole is currently believed to be Arya, most everyone fell for it. There are certainly people that could testify to the fact that Arya is Ned's true daughter, but then there are those who could do the same for Sansa - including Arya herself. The wolves are helpful proof in the absence of all else but they're certainly not a required piece of proof - Nymeria never vouched for Jeyne Poole and the Northern lords bought it anyway.
Arya never wanted to travel the world, her goal was always to return home. When she was in KL, after Ned died, after Cat and Robb died. If she could go to Jon, she wouldn't go to Braavos either.
Discussed this in my last reply but I basically just don't think Arya's wants and desires are so static as that. Of course she'd want to go home to where her family are - she only travels in the opposite direction when she believes they aren't there anymore. But that doesn't mean that upon returning, returning out into the world isn't even something she'd consider - she enjoys adventure and learning about new cultures. Sansa, by comparison, probably would be happier in one place - adventure doesn't interest her so much.
Arya's name is more prominent in the north, especially in ADWD. The Northerners fighting for Arya in the book.
Currently it is given recent events, but if Sansa and "Arya" were to trade places in the plot (which they tragically did in the show), it would be the other way round. In any case, it's not Sansa or even really Arya that they're waging war over, so I don't know how relevant this will end up being.
Let's also not forget that he said that the key characters of the series are Jon, Arya, Dany, Bran and Tyrion.
I'm sorry but the notion of 'the key five' means little to nothing to me - the original outline was largely scrapped, so just as I don't imagine Jaime will ascend as the evil king of the 7K in TWOW, I don't put much stock in the insistence on the importance of 'the key five over Sansa. Sansa has a much smaller role in the original outline which sees her joining the villains rather than escaping them, so of course she's not a member of the key five in that version of the plot. Her role is vastly increased in the actual books however, so it seems disingenuous to insist that her story is so much less significant than Arya's.
Also I think it means a lot that the old gods call Arya "Daughter of the North" and that Harwin kneels to Arya where Torrhen Stark knelt to Aegon. When I look at things like this, Sansa's story is very inadequate for northern leadership.
Completely agree that there's a lot of emphasis on Arya's Northern qualities, where Sansa's comparably a balance of the North and south. I still don't think that necessarily means that Arya is destined to rule the North specifically? She's more than just a symbol, and identity is a big theme in her story, as she tries to both remember and forget who she is and where she comes from. That's how I read it personally.
I think you were influenced by the show. d&d found Sansa's Vale chapters boring so gave her the story of Fake Arya. GRRM said he had no idea what they were doing to Sansa's story in the show. He stated that he opposed Sansa being given this northern story and that it will be different in the books.
lol yikes. let me put it plainly that I despise Sansa's whole story in the show and am actually very annoyed they dismissed her story in the Vale in favour of that. I'm not remotely interested in how D&D decided to writer her, and I think their efforts to put Sansa on the throne in the North were extremely contrived, I didn't find it convincing at all
If the kingdoms at the end go all independent. Who ends up king in the north? I assume Sansa is queen in the vale with Harold hardying but is bran really ok for king in the north? Will it go to Rickon?
talked about this a little before but basically I don't really see the seven kingdoms each becoming independent: I think whatever becomes of the Targaryen legacy, Aegon's ice & fire dream (or whatever it was called lol) was clear that there was strength in unity and I think that echoes throughout asoiaf generally.
I think it's likely Sansa will govern the North (I agree that her arc in preparing her for that role is incomplete, but at least she has that arc where compared to Rickon). Arya's a charismatic character and a strong leader besides, you could certainly say she'd be as good at governing as Sansa. but I just don't really feel like a governing role resonates in her story regardless, so that does leave Sansa (who I personally really doubt will just marry Harold Hardyng and settle down in the Vale for all of time)
and I fully buy into the Bran as a fisher king theory - I don't think he'll govern exactly but will become a figurehead of westeros, uniting the people and the land. doubt he'll be based in King's Landing as that's likely to be a pile of ash and in any case was always very much part of the political plot, divorced from the supernatural and the struggles of the rest of Westeros. you constantly get a sense of KL as a corrupted seat where the monarchs and their court are entirely removed from the smallfolk on their very doorstep, so I don't see it having a place in Bran's reign, whatever that ends up looking like

Hi. So, if you've followed me for a while you'll know I can't stand Sansa (from the show, her book character I don't like but I thoroughly enjoy her pov chapters). But I've been rewatching some YouTube videos for research for my fanfic (go check it out, it's on ao3 (mast3rofd3ath)).
Arya says in season 8 during her rather lacklustre reunion with Jon that Sansa is the "Smartest person she's ever met"
I disagree. For several reasons.
1 - Sansa trusted Cersei, who ordered her direwolf killed.
2- she trusted Joffrey after he lied about the altercation at the Trident and threatened to gut her little sister
3- she trusted Littlefinger (she witnesses him kill her aunt and hears a confession of the murder of Jon Arryn) and blatantly lies to the Lords of the Vale (Lord Bronze Yohn would have protected her if she spilled the truth)
4 - she agrees to marry Ramsay Bolton and gives Roose Bolton, the murderer of her brother, a firmer foothold on the north on Littlefingers word (she barely knows him)
5 - she manipulates Jon into taking back winterfell and doesn't tell him about the Knights of the Vale and it very much made me feel as though she waited till the last possible minute to send them in and her little, smug smirk irritates the shit out of me. Sophie's acting and the script makes it feel as though Sansa wants Jon and Rickon dead.
6 - she openly frowns when Jon's named KoTN
7- she openly and happily questions Jon's choices in front of the Northern Lords.
8- she let's littlefinger into her home
9- she does the bare minimum to have littlefinger put on trial (that lie about petyr protecting her by killing lysa, never mentions Jon Arryn) and has Bran do his freaky raven thing to see what he did to Ned
10- doesn't swing the sword herself, let's her assassin sister do it
11- there's no consequences of her lying to yohn in the Vale or waiting till the last minute to send the knights in - less lives would have been lost if they'd been sent in, in the beginning
12 - her "They (the wildlings) owe you (jon) their lives (they don't, and Jon's not the type to take advantage - like sansa does)" line
13 - sansa not understanding how alliances work in season 8 (bitches about Jon giving up his crown for Dany's help, which is the only thing he can give FOR her help)
14 - her breaking a sacred oath in front of a heart tree and abandoning all of the Stark family values to reach her goals (she's like the twisted daughter of littlefinger and cersei)
15 - her not bothering to give the women, children, and elderly a comforting speech in the crypts and pretty much ignoring them
16 - her line of "We wouldn't have winterfell if not for me" to arya
17 - her being rude to Brienne when all brienne wants is to protect her and keep to her vow
18 - her open and blatant dismissal and hatred of Daenerys
19 - her demanding Northern independence because the North "is owed that" as if they 1, have the resources, 2, men to rebuild, 3, alliances in order to get resources when she's being so cold to daenerys, who is actually her actual queen because Jon knelt, and what about an heir, Sansa? Who said she'll never marry again??????
I know it's the fault of the writers her character went to shit, but it honestly pisses me off when people simp over show!sansa like she's the fucking maiden reborn and bash Dany for being "insane" when both of their characters were ruined by TERRIBLE, GARBAGE, LAZY, MISOGYNISTIC WRITERS

Double edged scalpel ch.4
Tumblr media
Ch.1 Ch.2 Ch.3
Summary: Daniela wingman Dimitrescu
---
Who knew that a door could look so intimidating. The dark wood decorated with golden floral patterns and the Dimitrescu crest in the middle wasn’t unlike most other doors in the castle. This door however had one big difference from the rest: it was the door to Cassandra’s bedroom.
Nicole had crossed paths with Daniela earlier, who wasted no time in placing the duty of fetching the middle sister for dinner upon her. Oh well. She was supposed to meet the brunette anyways. Tomorrow at sundown, Cassandra had said. And that was just after dinner. But the lingering feeling of their lips together, deep in a hidden nook in the garden, left Nicole unsure on what to expect from her.
With a final deep breath, she knocked on the door.
It was silent for a few long seconds. She was about to knock again, sure that Cassandra was still sleeping, but was stopped by a groggy reply that she took as her cue to enter.
“Lady Daniela sent me to let you know dinner will be ready soon.”
Nicole had a split second when she regretted each and every decision that led up to that very moment when she noticed the brunette stirring awake, naked body thankfully covered by soft blankets. Cassandra didn’t seem to mind though, as she yawned and stretched her arms like a lazy cat would.
“That’s a weird way to say Daniela is lazy and sent you to do her job.” She grabbed her watch from the nightstand. “Ugh, it’s early.” It’s 7 p.m.
From where she stood, looking anywhere but at the brunette, Nicole wasn’t sure how to respond. It’s not as if she could’ve said no to Daniela’s request. Or, to be more accurate, order. Apparently Cassandra didn’t wait for a reply, as she got out of bed and shuffled to her dresser, hopefully to put some clothes on. With one of her typical black dresses now on, she tiptoed to the other occupant in the room.
“Modest, are we,” she said, placing her hands on Nicole’s waist, not unlike she did many times before.
“Just trying not to get my eyes gouged out.” Hopefully Cassandra still appreciated her humor.
The brunette slowly spinned the other girl around so she could look in her eyes, as if she were a child inspecting a newly received christmas gift. “Mm...you can keep them. Now come on, spend some time with me since Dani insisted on you waking me up so early.”
Thanks Daniela.
Nicole felt herself get pulled further into the room, barely having time to take in all the trinkets and decor inside before she was tugged down to sit in Cassandra’s lap.
Well… best possible scenario.
This time there was no hesitation when their lips connected, one hand finding its place at the brunette's nape, pulling her close. Cassandra let out a small moan when she felt nails scratch lightly against her scalp, which Nicole took as an opportunity to slip her tongue past black painted lips. They kissed until Cassandra pulled back, opting instead to leave a trail of kisses and black lipstick on her jawline, down her throat, and finally her collarbone. The kisses were getting increasingly more aggressive, with nips at the skin and finally teeth dragging at the crook of Nicole's neck.
Cassandra inhaled deeply but pulled her mouth away from the skin, resting her forehead against that spot instead. When she spoke, her tone was dripping with barely held back desire.
"If you want me to stop, you should go."
Oh no, Nicole didn't just shove her tongue in her god damn mouth for them to stop. Whatever crumble of self preservation was left within her, it got booted out the metaphorical front door of her brain the moment she got pulled into the brunette's lap. The only thing that made her hesitate for a second was whether or not Cassandra could bite someone without actually killing them.
"Do not go near the jugular.”
And Cassandra listened. She dragged her teeth from the neck, down to the shoulder and, after an uncharacteristically gentle kiss to the spot, she sunk her now sharp fangs in the flesh.
Nicole couldn't stop a whimper from escaping past her lips at the sudden jolt of pain. But the sensation of soft lips on her skin and Cassandra's low moan at the taste of her blood made for the perfect mixture of pleasure and pain.
"Cassa- ah," she moaned her name, fingers tangled in black hair which only seemed to spur her on.
The pain steadily faded, leaving behind only a tingling sensation. It stopped her brain from putting together any coherent thought, almost as if being drunk without the actual alcohol. But blood loss instead. Nicole tugged lightly on Cassandra's hair when dizziness started to make itself present. When that did nothing, she pulled with slightly more force.
"Cassandra-" she let out a pained groan, mild panic slipping into her voice.
That made the brunette snap out of it, forcefully pulling herself back and eyeing the bloody mess on Nicole's shoulder. She caught the redhead by the arms for support when she slumped forward slightly, pinching the bridge of her nose with a soft ugh. How much blood can a human lose again? Fourteen percent? And Nicole was also quite small.
Cassandra stretched to grab a tissue from the nightstand and pressed it against the puncture wounds, frowning when Nicole flinched at the pain it caused.
"Uh...are you okay?"
Nicole took a deep breath before replying. "-m good. You should...uh go though. I'll go lay down and-...and meet you after dinner." Then she squeezed her eyes shut for a moment to try to alleviate the dizziness and tried to stand up.
Cassandra grimaced at how wobbly Nicole's movement's were and guided her back down, on the soft mattress. The redhead didn't protest, not that she really could anyways.
"No. Stay here, you're no good if you just fall and crack your skull open against a stairwell."
"But-"
Cassandra ignored her, only pushing her down to rest against one of the many pillows littering the bed. "No buts, this is an order from your lady. Now take a nap or something and I'll fetch you after dinner."
Nicole saw her turn around and exit the room, door shutting with a heavy thump. She felt too dizzy to try and fight back. And after all, why would she? The bed was incredibly soft, almost as if it was cradling her small body, inviting her to fall asleep. She slowly pulled one of the blankets up to her waist and positioned herself in such a way that the tissue wouldn't fall from her shoulder. A short nap was all she needed, then she'd be up by the time dinner was done. It only took shutting her eyes for a few seconds to fall asleep, the haze in her mind receding into comforting nothingness.
---
Hot. She felt so incredibly hot. How could Cassandra sleep amongst all these pillows and blankets in the middle of August?
She groaned and stirred, tissue forgotten and covered in dry blood by now. She turned around, trying to find a colder spot and sighed contently upon finding a cool pillow to bury her face into.
Since when did pillows hum?
Nicole snapped her eyes open and jerked backwards, realizing that the "pillow" was Cassandra's side, who apparently had returned from dinner and was now laying in bed with a book.
"I- I'm sorry! I think I overslept and-"
She was interrupted by a slender finger on her lips.
"Get back here, you're so warm."
Too warm, Nicole almost replied but Cassandra's hand mowed from her lips to trace her jawline and neck. Then, when it got to her nape, she pulled the redhead back on her chest, cheek resting on the cool skin.
Nicole froze for a moment but soon melted into the touch. Presumably one of the perks of being an undead being was never getting too hot. At least temperature-wise. She tentatively snaked an arm around the brunette's waist and, when there was no protest, she shifted her body closer against hers.
Checking the time didn't even occur to Nicole until her eyes fell on one of the windows, noticing it was pitch black beyond the glass.
"Shouldn't we have…" she just vaguely gestured, not even sure what they were supposed to do that day in the dungeons.
"Here's one of the perks of working with me darling: if I don't feel like doing anything then congratulations, you've got yourself a day off. Now why don't you enjoy it hmm."
She emphasized her words by bringing her free hand to Nicole's head, nails lightly scratching the scalp. But Nicole was wide awake, despite the pleasant sensation that elicited a content hum from her.
There were so many things to take in that she hadn't noticed earlier. Just like her study, Cassandra's bedroom was like a collection of glimpses into her. The desk was littered with papers and oddly modern drawing supplies, the kind you would get by entering the art supply store down the road from her college dorm. A mannequin in the corner of the room was wearing a most likely tailor made dress, complete with what looked like a matching sword. The wall she could see was half covered in bookshelves, half in deer antlers or horns of different animals. Some had labels with dates underneath them that were too far to read, but Nicole managed to decipher one that said 08.06.1982.
She didn't want to risk losing her precious head scratches in order to explore the other half of the room, so her eyes settled on the one thing she could see without moving. The book in Cassandra's other hand.
"What're you reading?"
Cassandra sighed, realizing that she was still awake but answered anyway.
"Watership down."
She giggled, still a bit lightheaded. "Bunnies…"
Cassandra rolled her eyes, not quite in the mood to go on a lengthy discourse about the themes of said "bunnies". She opted to change the topic instead, voice oddly soft.
"How's your head?"
"Mmm...dizzy."
"Sleep then."
"My room is too far away."
"Sleep here you dumbass."
Nicole was silent for a few moments, putting together the few coherent thoughts still lingering in her brain. Then, trying not to slur her words due to dizziness and sleepiness alike:
"Isn't that against protocol? Do you even have a protocol?"
"The protocol is that our staff serves my family. Right now you're keeping me warm. There, congratulations on performing your duties. Now go to sleep."
The redhead gave in, too tired to keep on annoying Cassandra. She nuzzled her face closer to the brunette's neck leaving a small peck on her collarbone and closed her eyes. The nails still scratching at her scalp, occasionally moving to run through long auburn locks proved more than efficient at lulling her to sleep. She could swear she felt a soft, almost imperceptible kiss on the top of her head before consciousness fully slipped away from her
