which would leave regis stuck translating back and forth between geralt and dettlaff as a kind of intermediary and negotiator… placing a ton of pressure on him to be accurate, but yet… as regis tends to be, compulsively diplomatic... (geralt would understand this a bit because he’s worked as a translator—“a little sacrifice”—but he’s not as eager to kiss and make up)

… i think this would be ‘fun’ (/s) for regis… whose happiness is . nearly entirely dependent on his friends’ concord and happiness.

and bonus points if regis is rusty at vampiric, having not spoken it for a century or so :)

this would end up with at least one of these clichés:

“… he… 😵‍💫 he said… 🤔 he’s not very happy with you.”

“but… what did he actually say? 🤨”

“i… cannot tell you that 😇”
