Okay, you sent this months ago and I'm so, so sorry for the late response to this. Idk why it took me so long, but here it is, a little ficlet before the year 2k22 ends :)

It's very cold this early in the morning; Nyra feels the blood rush to her cheeks in an attempt to warm them, but it does little. Once she would've laughed off her rosy cheeks, but now she doesn't feel the need to justify herself. Not after Bjora, where she was perpetually red and wrapped in furs. Here, only a thick coat suffices.

Nyra takes her victories where she can.

The walk from her mansion to the temple in Rurikton is a somewhat long one, but she doesn't mind it. This early, shopkeepers are still setting up their stores, there are fewer passerby, even if there's more people due to the smack middle of Wintersday. She walks past a young couple holding hands and interestingly, a norn parent bringing their children to see the famed human holiday.

"I don't know how humans call this cold," one of the kids is saying. "It's nothing." Nyra smiles into her collar. It is nothing. But she finds it endearing a norn child would say it.

"We're not here for the cold," their mother says. "We're here for the holiday. To see what other races celebrate. What the Commander celebrates."

"She knows we have better parties in the Shiverpeaks, right?" the older child replies.

Yes, she does, sometimes, Nyra thinks, inconspicuously stopping to listen to their conversation.

"I'm sure she attends many moots," the mother explains, "but she's human and from what I gather, she believes in their gods. Besides, human kids love snowballing just as much as you guys do." Her lips widen proudly. "Let's show them what real snowballing is."

Nyra shakes her head fondly and sets off once more. This is what she's fighting for, this familial banter, this mother's chance to attend another race's holiday with her children. All she has to do is see a charr or two and her heart's about ready to burst.

It's Wintersday, after all. She has another place to be for her soul.

Rurikton's temple is old. Despite the minimal renovations it's endured (if she has any say in it, they'll always be minimal) it still gives off the impression of historicity; the architecture looks somewhat apart from the surrounding area, with its deep, red walls and colourful stone decoration and harkens back to old temples of Ascalon in the height of its glory. Nyra's always loved the place, understood its significance. Her family wouldn't let her forget and now, as an adult, she won't let herself forget.

Admittedly, the force with which the lessons on it were given was somewhat over the top, but they did their job. To this day, Alysannyra Ainsaph's Ascalonian.

Too many As in there, she thinks. I'm nowhere near good enough to make it good alliteration. She settles on her usual, secluded place and runs her fingers through her hair. Years ago, before Elona, she would've sat up high, befitting her high status in life. Now, to find peace in a public temple, she has to go for darkened corners. No faithful likes a godkiller.

It's a fact she's learned to live with. She refuses to let it overshadow her joy at being in this temple, just as she refuses to look at Balthazar's statue at the altar.

That's why she comes this early, as she's done every Wintersday she could for the past five years. The silent dislike might not get to her, but spoken dislike digs into a wound she knows she'll never fully heal. It hurts a little that she has to do this, but sometimes, her fucking ego needs to get taken down a peg.

And with that, she allows herself a moment of quiet. Someone chants softly. Candles burn, but thankfully away from her skin. Sometimes, shoes echo gently against the stone floors. Ascalonian whispers comfortingly in her ear, words she first saw as her own before anything else. This isn't a place for prayer, but a place for being one with her people.

Suddenly, a scrape of claws against stone. She straightens sharply. There are no alarms in her head, just-- charr in Rurikton, of all places? A temple in Rurikton? And indeed, a charr stands by the door and looks around. Big, orange, with a blonde mane and white fur on his chest. Filed down horns. He looks familiar.

Livion! she remembers, relaxing. Elandrin's boyfriend! What's Livion doing here, though? She stands up, wanting to greet him. She can even do it here, as long as he doesn't give her away.

"Commander, there you are!" Livion says in that powerful voice of his and goes to her. Nyra sighs. Everyone's eyes are on her and the priests are giving her a frightened stink eye. So much for my date with history.

"Here I am," she replies, catching up with him. "Let's talk outside, unless you wanted to sight-see?"

"Yes, ma'am," Livion whispers, towering over her. I should remember I'm off battlefield, fuck.

"Didn't mean to order you around," Nyra cringes, "I just thought we could give these people their peace in prayer."

"Yeah," he nods and she buttons her coat when they leave. Some of the people are still staring. Of course, the optics of the whole situation - her, a full-blooded Ascalonian, leaving an Ascalonian temple with a charr that had Flame Legion heritage - is so tremendously hilarious to her that she can't sustain being annoyed with having her peace interrupted and her cover blown.

As soon as she steps away from the inviting warmth of the temple, cold hits her like a charrzooka.

"Do you want my jacket, Comm--"

"Nyra. No ma'ams or Commanders."

"Nyra. Do you want my jacket?" he repeats, and she can tell he finds this as awkwardly funny as she does.

"I just need to get acclimated," she shakes her head. "This cold has nothing on Bjora and Drizzlewood." She rubs her temples, snorting. "Now let's rewind a bit. This whole conversation started on a weird ass note."

"Cogs, yes," he laughs, showing a full mouth of sharp teeth. Nyra lifts her head really high to see. Liv's fucking giant. "I have news for you, Nyra. Wanted to deliver them myself."

"I thought conversations started with hello, but if you wanna deliver good news, go right ahead. It's Wintersday, hooray, hooray." She laughs softly. "Sorry. Give me the news."

"We think we found the ruins of the old Ainsaph estate," he says.

Nyra's eyes widen. Her family's estate, thought long lost, something they'd wanted to find for ages, but couldn't. Even though her family seat's is in Ebonhawke, they had a summer home, made for their royal ancestor upon marriage into the family. Sadly, the Searing spared few things and the Ainsaph estate was not one of them. All ruins look the same once they've been broken down and torched to many an untrained eye, including Nyra's.

It's not like they had a chance to really look for it, with charr making home where humans once were. All they had were tales of its beauty and fine craftsmanship. To Nyra, it's always been less about the charr and more about the monuments of her people before their fall.

And now, Livion's telling her they think they have it?

"When--"

"We had suspicions for some time, but we wanted to make sure before telling you. I wanted to be sure. I'm not completely sure even now, but I am confident enough to tell you."

"Oh," Nyra says. "I want to see. It's only right it's me, I think." She grabs his paw and squeezes it. "Thank you. For trying. For actually doing it. It actually means a lot to me and my family."

"It's only right you get something meaningful in return," Livion says, like he's talking about the weather. Nyra blinks. Her hand's kinda small on his paw. This is how the world feels about me, when I save them. Someone bigger than them stepped in and did the job.

She isn't used to the favor being returned all the time. She lets go of his hand, much happier than she left the mansion this morning.

Dr Beebe saw it at about 2,000 feet under the sea in beautiful clear weather, but I only saw a quick flash of something going by. “He saw it about a quarter of minute before he finished making the first-ever broadcast from the depths. It appeared very conveniently, just when he needed a big climax. It has never been seen before or since.”' otis in the 80s weighs in :')

he does sound fondly snarky about it here, lol. I have to say, again, I totally would have done this if I was a respected marine biologist at the bottom of the ocean on live radio and no one else had ever been there before. no shame.

this is also really good to know because beebe's book is very unclear as to if the fish was seen just before or just after - he timestamps some of the encounters but not others, and the giant dragonfish appear without one (the broadcast ends at 3:30, he says he gave the order to go lower at 3:23 and some unknown minutes after gives the order to ascend, where he sees the dragonfish).

sadly he transcribes a few of his dives with these extremely specific timestamps and doesn't include the radio broadcast one (though maybe the transcript exists somewhere in another one of his many books?):

Also worth noting he does mention a different scary and unidentified fish that also would have been at the very end of the broadcast, one which he never scientifically names:

While we hung in mid-ocean at our lowest level, of 2200 feet, a fish poised just to the left of my window, its elongate outline distinct and its dark sides lighted from sources quite concealed from me. It was an effective example of indirect lighting, with the glare of the photophores turned inward. I saw it very clearly and knew it as something wholly different from any deep-sea fish which had yet been captured by man. It turned slowly head-on toward me, and every ray of illumination vanished, together with its outline and itself—it simply was not, yet I knew it had not swum away.

I can't discount that this was the climactic fish in question rather than the dragonfish and barton may have gotten scary ass nightmare fish #347 and scary ass nightmare fish #348 mixed up over the course of 50 years. someone please track down this broadcast, the people need to know!

2024 Megaman Summer Fanart Contest - Category 1 Results!

Sorry for the delay, but without further ado, here come this year's wonderful creations and our winners. Thank you all for your patience! Due to both the number of entries and the amount of reference images I'll be attaching here, I will have to make a separate post for the humor (Cat. 2) results. CATEGORY 1 (Talent): Pallette Pastiche

The talent category this year focused on creating a parody or imitation of a famous work of art by using Mega Man characters in the place of what was originally drawn. Didn't have to be a well-known famous piece, but still had to reference some piece of art, regardless. And you all certainly made both Ms. Museum Curator and myself proud! It was very hard to choose placement, let alone who would make the Top 3. Plenty of fantastic character choices to match the vibe of the original pieces. For the full gallery of pics, click here. Sylviidaee's reference was Michelangelo's Renaissance piece, "The Creation of Adam."

The shading and detail in your painting efforts for this piece are remarkable! Flawlessly fitting in each Robot Master, along with Blues and Roll, to represent the angels, worked out great. This pic deserves to be a featured museum piece, with replicas hanging in the homes of every Megaman fan!

2.) @purplerubyred [Pic] (*$100 USD Prize Winner!)

Ruby's reference was the cover of the Capcom Design Works artbook, by Kinu Nishimura.

Just even attempting to replicate the sheer amount of characters in this piece had to be an enormous undertaking, and I commend you for spending part of your August month of Elec Man love crafting this! There is so much to take in with this piece, with all the various versions of Elec Man and his related family. From background locations like MaHa Ichiban to the super great white angel/devil chip artwork on the railcar window, there are tons of little cameos to catch as you look across this art. Wonderful job!

3.) @DWN-059 [Pic] (*$75 USD Prize Winner!)

Beebs' reference was Rococo artist Jean-Honoré Fragonard's "The Swing."

While the lush forested background draws my attention for it's whimsical beauty, and huge amount of detail, I loved the little touches you brought to make this have a Mega Man feel. Such as the Guts Man and Anko statues to replace the angels, and adding the cute 'lil Friender. While Planty can't kick off his boots, the Plant Barrier petals were a perfect replacement for the shoe. Beautifully and accurately painted! _____________________________

ArtisIan's reference was Grant Wood's "American Gothic."

Nothing more 'gothic' than a guy obsessed with skulls, building dark, brooding, black-clad robots, owning a homely Skull Castle with tall walls and large windows, am I right? Bass with the daughter's glare is actually rather fitting here, as well! XD Now, if Wily always carried around that pitchfork, wouldn't he be able to defeat Mega Man a lot easier, on account of sharp points?

AW-Colorcat's reference was a piece by seafh that was used as a popular Youtube BG image back in the 2010s for the Nightcore (sped up version/remix) version of the song "Angel with a Shotgun."

The bullet holes through the single wing sure makes it look like Mega Man has gone *pew pew pew* through it. But I think an angel with an all-powerful Metal Blade could be a little more deadly accurate.

Tabby's reference was Auguste Rodin's sculpture, "The Thinker." (To which, somewhere out there, Sigma Posting is ready to dub it "The Sig-ker.")

Contemplating his status as the most advanced Reploid of his time, his next strategic action against the Maverick Hunters, or how to change/destroy the world? Sigma certainly could be looked at as someone who could be rather philosophical and get deep in thought. And wouldn't be afraid to show off artwork of himself in his fortress. Hatching detail is nice, and helps give that statuesque, worn and chiseled feel.

Ivo's reference was Impressionist Joaquin Sorolla y Bastida's, "Italian Girl with Flowers."

Fantastic job at replicating the paint on canvas look, I truly can't tell if this is just a digital filter or if you physically painted it! Extending the green curls of hair outside of his helmet helped mimic the girl's original hairstyle even more. Really pretty, and his color pops nicely against the smaller flowers he's enjoying!

JazzmanZ [Pic]

JazzmanZ's reference was Roy Lichtenstein's Pop art painting, "Stepping Out."

Steppin' out to fight Doc Wily tonight! Honestly amused at how just a few little line alterations were needed to easily transform this couple into Rock and Roll. Like the little nose bridge line above his eye easily morphing into the peak of Mega Man's helmet. Excellent eye for parody in choosing this. No Roll, I didn't mean anything by that...

NightopianFoxGirl's reference was "Circe Invidiosa," from Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood artist John William Waterhouse.

Another brilliant choice in characters having Iris represent Circe, who was known for turning her enemies into animals. And having the Cybeast duo of Greiga and Faltzer as the sea monster beneath her connects to the allegory of her role in the Beast anime with the Synchronizer, Trill. She too probably wants to poison/destroy the beasts, and can be seen as a bit of a tragic figure herself.

Puyonlilah's reference was the Romanticism era painting "Ophelia," by Sir John Everett Millais.

Yet another tragic take, with the X version of Iris filling the role of Ophelia from Shakespeare's Hamlet, who is seen singing before she drowns herself in the river. Forgive her Zero, she just wanted to live in a world where only Reploids exist! You certainly portrayed the grief and emotional stress on Iris' face nicely, as well as the effect of her barely keeping afloat, with the water ripples.

Ryan's reference was Romanticist artist Caspar David Friedrich's painting, "Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog."

In a world covered by endless water, there's bound to be days of endless fog affecting your sightline, aren't there? Very nice contrast of light and dark in your colors. There's something that just feels so fitting for Mega Man to be looking out from on high, to give a sense of adventure, venturing into the unknown, or even alluding to X looking off the cliff during X1's ending. How long will he keep on fighting? Maybe only the buster on his hand knows for sure...

Tori Campan [Pic]

Tori's reference was Leonardo Da Vinci's famous Renaissance painting, "The Mona Lisa."

Miss Tori got the most important thing right in her parody by making sure The Rolla Lisa had no eyebrows, because those have disappeared from the painting over time. Roll's green bow stands out in her hair even more with the beautiful green forest in the background. Wonderful job getting her pose and that slight, mischievous smile on her face to match the original!

Anyways yapping undercut

SEASON 1

Anyways she's Rapunzel's younger sister, was sorta isolated cause her parents were a bit paranoid after having their first child kidnapped yadayada ermm Cassandra used to train her in like fighting and stuff cause yk self defense....she's sorta like shy cause well she didn't go out that often

Gets along well with Rapunzel, kinda sus abt Eugene but he saved her sister so she's like ehh whatever, befriends Varian and is super excited cause she gets her first friend her age!! Ermm he talks a lot of Alchemy cause duh, and she listens and let's him info dump, gives him access to the royal library super fun or whatevrrrr

Then when the whole thing with his dad happens, she's like "omg BRB lemme see if I can find any books or smth to help!! Don't leave!" He leaves...or sorta gets kicked out ykyk

She sorta gets upset with Rapunzel cause well...yeah..anyways when Varian returns she's like "omg bestie I'm sorry" and he's all yk, she notices he's acting a bit sus but along with Rapunzel helps him out... BOOM BETRAYAL, they fist fight /hj

Anyways Rapunzel's birthday‼️Oc is sorta just sulking cause she lost her bestie for life, but she's also not given up on trying to figure out a way to help her ex best friend...sigh ANYWAYS she gangs up with Rapunzel against their dad...BOOM THEY GET GROUNDEDDDD

Gang helps break her out too, she's all angy towards her ex bestie but also wants to talk to him cause she doesn't wanna fight him again 😞 but yknow fog thingy happens and she uses what he taught her to help fight but then she's like "OMG YALL this is a distraction‼️‼️" for what? She doesn't know what but she knows Varian well enough to know this is to keep everyone busy. And yk boom mother dearest gets kidnapped.

Anyways everyone gets ready to go and fist fight broski, and while Rapunzel and her dad go up to confront Varian they're like "okay you stay here cause your too young and too close to Varian" and she's all angy abt that too but does as told. Anyways varian comes out with his giant robot and she's able to fight him off a bit while Rapunzel figures out the rocks and delivers the final blow and yk that happens...THEN BOOM VARIAN GOES TO JAILLL yolo

ANDDD SEASON 2

She doesn't go with the gang cause she's still hung up abt Varian and in the beginning she goes to visit Varian in jail, but he kinda shuts her out which she doesn't blame him for. This I added myself but Varian spends his birthday in JAIL and she goes and is like "I brought you cake" and they kinda start talking but then it blows up into a fight and that's when she stops visiting him...sad

Anyways he and the other guys I forgot their names break out of prison, make her parents lose their memories abt her an Rapunzel and she sneaks out before they can find out, she sorta starts up a rebellion but a hidden one and occasionally appears to save ppl or break em outta prison and to also piss off Varian lol

And yes she uses what she learned from him against him bc she's petty...

SEASON 3

She helps the gang during their fight and explains what's beeb happening while they were gone, Varian redemption arc happens but she's sorta has trust issues now cause remember Varian was her first friend ever and he wants to befriend her again but she's kinda barely even talking to him

During the red rocks episode Rapunzel tries to push her to trust Varian again and after an emotional moment and when Varian is having doubt and yk fear, she talks to him, yk besties make up and they're friends again

This season would mostly be abt them rekindling their friendship and stuff BUT YEAHHH‼️‼️

Not an ask but just to say episode 3 absolutely blew me away. 31 minutes? Also Beebs backstory?! I've been a fan since the boys started off so different and I loved seeing them come back. Thank you for being an inspiration ❤️

AAAAA COMPLETELY FORGOT TO POST THESE!!! (MW oc stuff)

if anyone is confused they all work for the same merc company im just stuck on what the company name should be 😭 (im thinking of naming it something really simple and on the nose like “merc folks” or something. i might name it something different tho. idk) also another note: sometimes eddie tags along on missions as well!! not all the time but he’ll go when he’s needed :^)

ive been planning like. a comic thing with them. and for said comic thing i designed 3 side characters and a planet for it to take place on!!

(lmk if u guys have a fav out of these 3 btw!! my personal fav to design was spoog. they were all fun to draw overall tho. also that fish in the second pic was super fun to paint!!)

for those interested: the basic story of the comic would be like. so that ham guy (pictured and labeled above) hires viv and scorch’s merc company (eddie would also be here in this hypothetical comic) for like 900K pixels because he goes to this mostly-water-planet to catch a highly sought after and rare fish, but it’s recommended that to catch it you have at least like. 5 people at the BARE minimum, and he only has two other people already. (i also had the idea of shrike and beebs being there too?? sorta like. you hired two merc companies?? is that allowed??? or something. but they still do it bc a) ham goes like “well the more the merrier!” or something because to catch this fish? it really is, and b) its for 900K for both companies. how? the fish would end up being around 2.7 million so it just gets split up among the 3 parties involved 👍)

Nice job to everyone who participated this year! If I didn't include a certain piece here, it isn't because I didn't like it, just wanted to include some highlights.

This year's been a blast! Though I haven't participated as much as I'd like to (due to stress n other projects), I'm so flattered to have been attacked by some amazing people! Not to mention that it has been quite encouraging seeing how I have improved as an artist over the past year. Much of my creative juices flowing can be attributed to me following some advice from the lovely mag-the-pie, so yipee for that!

I'll keep on trucking over the year with my creative endeavors, so look forward to that. Can't wait for Art Fight 2025!

Fruly Beach

My beebs <3 I decided to go along with making a beach drawing, since they go there often! I believe they find so much happiness and peace there, to live in the moment, not being disturbed by any enemies that may be on the rise.

Let’s say they were just hanging out and talking together, when suddenly Christopher or Quincy appear, and this is their goofy aaah greeting. XDD

I made a poll recently, of what genre my next Fruly drawing should be, and most selected was romantic, so here we are! XD (Fresh isn’t best with romance, to be honest. He’s not used to affection or love so he gets a little goofy and awkward. >w<) Anyways, hope you like how this turned out, everyone! Buckle up, and I mean it, because I have quite a lot of thoughts about the show and that thing -> 🦑

There are some parts where I will be getting into headcanon territory but they make sense hear me out:

I think I can divide all of this into 3 parts

1. The Primaries and the "glasshole"

Ok first off, we have to get into the Primaries

These are two instances where we have seen visual representations of the Primaries (cleanup and collages courtesy of my friend @awwkie-dot-jar. Here is their post and their thoughts on 'em!)

So from what we can see, the Primaries seem to be, quite literally, the shapes that represent them in the LAW symbol. A red triangle/pyramid, a blue circle/sphere and. A yellow square/cube

I'm gonna have to use Tezzoree as a gateway for what I want to say here

Commander Tezzoree is a character name-dropped at the end of episode 1. We get a faint glimpse of her in the Punti plush commercial.

Here is a trace of the frame made by @spagheddiesquash (here is the post with it + his theories and ep 4 predictions!)

From what we can make out, Tezzoree also has a shape for a head like the Primaries (a red pyramid! although it's smaller than the ones on her "shoulders").

Tez' body looks more articulated than the Primaries', she has arms while the Trinity only seem to have formless gowns for bodies. Given how she has the title of commander, I suppose it's because she has more practical duties than them. As galactic rulers, they must keep a regal appearance.

I think they're their own kind of entities, and these shapes are all they are really, their bodies are built by other people for them to interact with the world around them. I say this because Primary Red and Tez aren't the only red pyramids we have seen so far

It's been made pretty clear that LAW doesn't want people going in the Quarantine Zone. These things could potentially not be ships, but sentient shapes roaming around the QZ, keeping watch of the corrupted species there.

So what we know about the Primaries' kind so far is that:

They're different shapes, each with a color attributed to them (triangle = red, circle = blue, square = yellow)

They can vary in size

They have to be built bodies for them to interact with the world. ...Or at least with other, non shape beings. Mortals? More on that later.

Now, we can finally get into our dear friend Shrike!

Shrike has a little cyan diamond in his head. With Beebs' attitude on Shrike having an internal translator and this line, it gives us the impression that it's connected to his brain.

There's also more evidence pointing to that, like

Only Shrike can use it

He has to think of what object/thing he wants to take when pulling it out

He has to coordinate his hand, put it inside the light the diamond emits to get things in our out

But then there's something Shrike says about the diamond:

He's had it for as long as he can remember.

That leads me to believe that Shrike is the diamond. He's a Primary (or the same kind of entity as the Primaries) but instead of a robotic body, he was given an organic one.

And with that, I can talk about what that means for his character

2. His personality and him being a "separate"

From how Scratch talks about the Primaries, it looks like they are seen as deities (the praying motion, "give me strength", the use of the word "Trinity" also has religious connotations)

I believe the Primaries are seen like that because they are immortal entities in a different, possibly higher plane of existence than the mortal characters in this world. Their way of thinking is much more abstract and it's incomprehensible to us.

If Shrike is one of them*, it could explain his disregard for other life like the Lythops, and his lack of sense of morality.

*Now, the cyan diamond is an entirely different shape and color to the Primaries', but that doesn't disprove that it's not one of them. It could mean that there are more shapes and colors to their kind than just the basic three we have seen so far. And maybe those have their own followers too...

But if Shrike is this godly thing, how does he not know? Could he have possibly forgotten? Well I have an idea based on a character that's not quite like him, but might be going through something similar

Us used to be part of a hive mind along with Them. That's why they call themselves "Us" and their friend, "Them". It takes them some time to assimilate that they're an individual being now, after being separated from Them. They only use the first person to refer to themselves until the end of the episode.

It's unclear if they were in a hive mind for the fact that they're a fungal species, or because of the cataclysm's corruption. But for either case, once they get separated, Us starts getting curious about every little thing Beebs says, but particularly about

Money and material possessions! Sounds a bit familiar, doesn't it?

What I think is happening with Shrike is that he got put into this organic body and he's experiencing all these feelings that come with being fleshy and mortal, and he is loving it. He loves food, he loves money, he loves adrenaline, he's having fun with it! It's all new and exciting to him because it's not natural to him as a higher plane being.

The more he indulges in these feelings, the more he becomes an individual and he separates himself from others like his kind. The colors could each be hive minds of their own and Shrike got separated from his because of this. But where did he get this organic body in the first place?

3. His body/anatomy and Enforcement

Nobody knows what Shrike is. Not even he knows what he is. He's supposed to be from a squid based species, but his anatomy is a bit weird for a cephalopod.

For example, my friend and cephalopod enthusiast @samscartoonsofficial brought to my attention that squids and octopuses have blue blood. Shrike has yet to bleed on screen, but it's been hinted a couple of times that he has red blood. ...In fact he has a lot of red based attributes.

This is why I'm going for the science experiment theory. His body was created either by the red department of Enforcement or the yellow department of Science, but it was designed with all these red elements to be fit to be an enforcer. We've been introduced to bio science like the Fodder clones in episode 1, and it's not unlike LAW to do unethical things to their members, like the metal straps on their waists.

They might have taken away his cyan diamond memories in the process of inserting him into that body. Shrike might think he had a life before LAW, but we have yet to see that.

There is this small exchange that kind of challenges this theory however

This implies that Shrike is the last of "his race". And if he was a science experiment, there shouldn't be anyone like him.

My guess is that his body could be designed as a paleontological reconstruction of a long extinct squid species? Think of the first Jurassic Park movies dinosaurs, before it started becoming common knowledge that they had feathers. It's the only way I can see the science experiment theory and this line both making sense.

We don't have enough material on this last point, but I can see the red blood thing going one of two ways

1. It's not blood, but ink

If his body was created by Enforcement, being mostly red based, it'd be no surprise if Primary Red took part in his creation. And maybe they made him be fuelled by ink, just like the ships and many of the objects in the show. Is it possible for species to have ink for blood though?

Maybe?? Skeletons seem to bleed their fire color, and because Ricket's is pure cyan it leads me to believe that he's bleeding ink here.

2. It's blood, but not cephalopod blood

Sam was the one to bring up this theory. Remember when I said that he could be designed to look like a long extinct species?

Yeah. He could have been designed to be a squid-terran hybrid, with Terran-like blood. After all he has an although distorted, similar anatomy to them. It would explain the Spanish and his appreciation for Terrans.

I'm derailing a bit there on that last part, but to summarize, I believe Shrike to be the same kind of entity as the Primaries, a cyan diamond, controlling a red organic body that was made for him to be in Enforcement. His body might be based on an actual squid species, or perhaps Terrans could be involved.

I could go on and talk about the meaning behind those two colors but I've already gone through a lot of things here and I've hit the image limit so I'd like to do that on a future post :o]

I have a few.

I’ll list them below.

1. Scritch & Scratch’s ship is part of a custom made line of spaceships for very small aliens called Micro-ships.

2. Beebs is a very heavy sleeper, but he seldom ever sleeps and when he does he doesn’t make a sound.

3. Shrike is VERY flexible, almost comically so. He’s basically a contortionist. So much so that it’s enough to freak people out.

4. Kara refuses to talk. She doesn’t say a word and the most you’ll hear from her is occasional grumbling or purring.

5. Shrike is surprisingly light and Beebs has been known to throw him at enemies as a distraction. “Sorry Shrike.” “NOT AGAIN!”.

6. Beebs doesn’t like going through metal detectors at ports and space stations.

7. Shrike has prehensile toes.

8. Scritch will sometimes sit on the shoulders of the largest person he can find to feel safe during a bad situation. He did this with Beebs after the events of episode 3 when they headed to the space station after destroying Them.

Here’s some of mine : 

Beebs would be really good with children : the guy is the sweetest merc in the universe , and I just feel like he’d be super patient and nice if he were to help out a kid in some way !

Scritch and Kara could be pretty good friends , since they’d be able to understand each other without talking at all … I find it cute to think about : two quiet cats , one super menacing and the other very adorable … truly , the bestest duo ^^

Kara secretly likes getting pet under her chin , I really like the idea of her having a bit of a soft spot for stuff like this :,)

Ricket’s fire hair can work as an emergency light source : I find it hilarious to imagine Queen Tyneen just - straight up picking the dude up from the ground and using him as a torch to light up a dark area … very silly ;C;

Shrike tries to teach Beebs Spanish whenever they aren’t busy with new jobs , and he is making steady progress ! 

I’ll probably get more headcanons when episode 4 comes out , this is all I got for now :)👍
