MK’s monkey form doesn’t feel right to me so i wanted to break up his transformation into stages. Maybe as he learns to accept that side of himself it becomes part of him, instead of changing between human and monkey randomly (which is probably painful). Love yourself, NOW!!!

THAT BOY NEEDS A NOSE #i like the idea of MK constantly flashing between his monkey and human forms as some sort of internal conflict or identity crisis #and he can’t hold his monkey form for very long soo. I’m going to put way too much thought into it and say its some sort of repression #also I made the hair on the sides of his face more attached or growing on the cheeks so it kind of frames it #maybe it’s because his design is so top heavy on his head and that’s why the sideburns feel wrong to me #like it’s fine with Swk and macaque because their hair is more like a tuft. but MKs hair is longer it just feels less balanced shape wise #I also don’t see his tail being very strong right off the bat because it’s. a new limb so the muscle has to be underdeveloped imo #I’m still a firm believer in the face mark XP system though. that is his Minecraft experience bar fight me #ALSO ALSO going back to him flashing between human and monkey. it's sure something how those who sexually harass girls wind up then played off for laughs and A GOOD GUY REALLY, while the girl is left shilling the man for it or her potential trauma and struggles ignored. even more suspicious as you point out that the ones in the CK world after johnny are nonwhite men. HMM.

Yeah its….the way sexual violence is handled in this series is Not It. When season 3 hit and they had Ali brush off just how bad of a boyfriend and a person Johnny was to her I was so, so disappointed. Like I never needed Johnny to give a confessional and list off all of his sins, but if they had even just let her respond to his blanket apology with a “thank you Johnny, that means a lot to hear you say that” instead of her complete dismissal with “we were so young and I made mistakes too,” it would have gone such a long way.

And then Kyler sexually assaulted Sam and continually sexually harassed her online, and while we didn’t exactly get a redemption from him the whole situation was kind of played off for laughs and not given any real gravity, even back when it happened.

And Tory…idk it’s something about one of her first lines in the show being about having to defend herself from a creep at the mall with her bracelet, about her landlord trying to extort her for sexual favors, about the show continuously telling us this is a girl who has been repeatedly sexualized by adults, and then the show itself sexualizing her. I always go back to that stripper fake-out in season 4 and how absolutely disgusting it was. And now with this scene with Kwon…like admittedly the season has not come out and yet and so we don’t actually know what exactly happens in that scene, but I am just so, so tired of it all

#like i didnt even get into it here either but like. mike barnes and his cronies threatened to sxually assault jessica in kk3. like that was #something that very nuch happened #and chozen also sxually harassed kumiko #but their redemptions were framed solely in the context of apologizing to daniel #which makes sense bc hes the main character but still #and obviously like. the premise of this show necessitates some degree of glossing over the darker aspects of what happened in the movies #but then dont make specific callbacks to those very moments in the show!#idk im just. so tired #and thats not even getting into the racism of it all lol #asks #anonymous

I don’t remember when or why I did this. But I wanted to keep count on how many times Kenji did the Dreamwork’s face, you know the one, just in Season 1. I might have to try this again since I only got to episode 4 and forgot to continue it.

Anyways. 19 times. 19 times in the first episode. And then it slowly went to 13 then 9 and down to 5 by episode 4.

#Mmmmmmhhhh.#Well. If anything you can always tell when there's a ss/kk episode by the fact that it takes me two hours to watch it lol #What can I say. I'm a compulsive screencap taker #Mmmmmmhhh... I was right it wasn't as bad as I remembered it. Still moderately bad but not all bad.#It's just. I can feel the animators did their best.#I suppose it's just a difficult episode to animate within a short time frame since it's a specifically action packed one.#And the lack of time really shows. Like there *are* some detailed animated passages here and there. But then there's also these long static #shots that stretch on forever that are just... Idk. A little saddening to see I guess? Like the animators really ran out of time for them #There's also a big component of... I just can't vibe with the newfound artstyle. Like it looks soooo much worse than s1 in my opinion #Which you know‚ is only subjective! But eh... The distance between s2ep11 and this feels abyssal.#Everyone looks so ugly oftentimes. Like even in curated shots‚ they're just very rough and ungraceful.#Which like?? How could you look at Harukawa's art and come up with //that//??????? But it's whatever #And the pacing is so so off 😭😭😭 God please to death with 11 episodes long seasons give us filler episodes back. this is actually the first proper animation ive done :'D like other than this ive animated a ball bouncing but that was more to test the software than anything,, lucky for me i consume animation memes more than i consume water so i know the basics B)
