Day 1 of the One/80! Staying hydrated is goal #1. One thing I struggle most with is drinking enough water. Time to change that!

New Beginnings
2016 was a year without discipline. Working out was sporadic. Clean eating was up and down. 2017 will be different. My girlfriend and I have already started getting a workout routine in place. We just signed up for an Advocare 24-Day Challenge that starts Jan 2. We’re both ready to make a positive change in our lives.

Saw this guy on my walk this morning! A nice quiet morning walk really set up a good mental start to the day. Managed to get my gf up with me to workout twice this week. Nice to have a work buddy!

Fitness and I have taken a bit of an unintentionally long hiatus. I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been and feel sluggish. I’ve changed my living environment a couple months back which helped a lot and now I’m trying to get back into the habit of working out. It’s going slowly, so I figure getting back into this community and posting on a regular basis again will help keep me accountable and motivated.

After a long hiatus, I had Jillian Michaels kick my butt this morning and did Workout 1 of Body Revolution. Thought of @probalicious and how we did the program together a couple years ago. You’ve always been an inspiration and will always continue to be. Miss you.

What running has taught me.
Today I came across a quote that really stood out to me. Here it is:
“The more I run, the more I love my body. Not because it’s perfect, far from it. But because with every mile, it’s proving to me that I am capable of more than I ever thought possible”. -unknown
This quote stood out to me because it points out that you need to love your body for what it is and what it can do. Runners who don’t have the perfect body shape that they want, love your body the way it is, because that body endures high amounts of physical stress each and every day and allows you to push it to so many extremes. I am not a skinny girl and I have never been and I will always be a bigger girl. Until about a year ago ,I was never happy with my weight even after losing 30 pounds. But today I am happy with my body because after I ran my first half marathon last February, I truly came to realize that my body is amazing! It does something everyday that most people cannot do or even attempt, and I should be proud of that!!!! I came to realize after running my half marathon ,that I need to be proud of my body and all that it can do! I need to walk with my shoulders back and head held high!!!!
Advice for today: Look at all that your body does for you each day. Look at what it allows itself to go through physically and mentally. Give your body the credit that it deserves because you are perfect in every single way. Remember you were created in God’s own image and likeness, therefore you are perfect.:)
