thinks everyday about how Eight's romance of Jadus was to prove the beauty of insignificance to him and change his mind that even the most worthless of souls were the answer he was looking for, that the most powerless had the greatest power in their unimportance and a strength those born with it could never imagine nor hold, and he proved it by sacrificing his entire self his entire soul to protect Jadus, a being arguably infinitely more powerful than him, from Valkorion. his final blow was to scatter himself to the winds. to destroy his own mind through the re-activation of the Castellans so that Valkorion would be naught but a mortal man inside the cage of his own self, the "self" that no longer existed, because in his own mind Eight was not a man--but a single sword. an unbreakable, infinite sword that protected and killed those he loved. a sword that could cut anything. Valkorion could never hope to have controlled him, for he was never a person at all.
#swtor#ooc#i always flip flop between wanting to write that final battle#bc eight essentially commits mind suicide by commanding his mind to kill valkorion and keep him trapped there at all costs#and he does. eight's soul becomes a sword. a sword that impales valkorion and pins him to his false throne#and eight dies from giving his entire life to stop valkorion from overriding his force bond and escaping into jadus#all because he wanted to prove the strength of an ordinary man#and because he loved jadus like the morning dew on the grass.#jadus finds him magnificent.#even in death.#he does bring him back to life after but he revels in his devotion. his insignificance for quite a while#and all he says afterwards is that he was beautiful.
