I didn't intend for it but thinking about this again and with this setup they might not even need to set true watches.

By the time Warriors and Wind are thinking about going to bed, Four is waking up for his middle-of-the-night quiet time. Half the time Legend's probably awake with him. And then by the time Four is heading back to sleep, the 'awake before dawn' earliest of the early risers are getting out of bed. Nightly watches could be something that just... kind of happens.

Sleepytime LU Headcanons Just Because

Warriors: Has that soldier’s ability to fall asleep anytime, anywhere. Often stays up late to strategize. *Always* wakes up early so he has time to make himself “look decent,” and yes this means he tends to run on very little sleep. Naturally the kind of person who’d prefer to be a night owl but has trained himself to be an early riser and he likes the quiet of the morning hours now too.

Wind: Stays up late, gets up late. Only person who sleeps longer in the mornings is Sky. Wind sprawls in his sleep.

Twilight: Farm life starts early, he’s been up with the sun for his entire life. Usually sleeps soundly, but sounds of someone else’s distress - tossing and turning, nightmare-induced mumbling or even completely silent crying - will snap him awake.

Legend: Such a rough sleeper. Insomniac extraordinaire. Nightmares wake him and once he’s up he has trouble going back to sleep. Cannot nap so he covers it up with caffeine. Drinks tea that’s blacker than Demise’s soul.

Four: Doesn’t go to bed overly early or get up overly late. He does wake up in the middle of the night, stay up for an hour or two to read or journal or sketch out plans for stuff he wants to try in the forge, and then go back to sleep. This happens every night.

Sky: Chronic illness means he needs so much more rest than he’s been getting. Not a morning person, impossible to wake up and groggy for hours. Naps easily. Will cuddle anyone or anything that’s within range.

Wild: Doesn’t go to bed until someone coerces him there, cannot sleep past dawn. Can and does fall asleep in places like halfway up a tree or wedged between rocks on the side of a cliff.

Hyrule: If it’s dark out, he wants to be sleeping. He’s been using the sun as his clock since forever. Wakes up at the slightest noise but never has any trouble going back to sleep once he’s established everything is fine. Cuddles his sword. It’s cute until something startles him.

Time: Used to be a night owl/late to rise, but he’s adjusted to farm life and now it’s the opposite. Ready for bed right after dinner and yes the others tease him for it. Keeps something that smells like Malon with him when he’s travelling because it helps him fall asleep easier.
