The hardest ones for me being Black 2 and White 2 with their insane pricing these days, Black 2 I had gotten from a friend for a fantastic price CIB, and White 2 CIB I paid for for a decent amout but was well worth it when I had also picked up UltraMoon and Sun CIB for essentially free along with it.

The wildest one would have to go to GBA Sapphire, I had gotten it from my PhysioTherapist of all people, he had it since he was a boy and his stories wild! His mom had found it YEARS ago in the hospital parking lot in a PUDDLE and after all these years it had still played for this whole time, with playtime going into 600+ hours and a shiny Electrike to go with it (I renamed him after physio man to never forget him). And bud just GAVE it to me, FOR FREE. He said that I was looking for it, he didnt need it, and he got it for free so knowing I was a huge nerd on a quest he was just willing to help towards my collection, and he is the most amazing guy ever. Manifested better news today; Ford was pretty cordial about giving me the info I needed to call other shops to gather pricing for the repair. The steering gear assembly for my car is expensive and where most of the cost comes into play.

I found a shop that's willing to do the repair for $2466 -- parts, labor and taxes/fees included + a warranty on the parts and repair.

It's only about ~$600 less than what Ford quoted me, but $2466 feels more doable to me than just over $3000. Right now I have about $128 of that tucked away and I'm still pretty far away from getting the whole amount but having something put back for it is better than nothing.

Anyway, I'm still offering commissions over on my ko-fi. Pricing there is just because I needed to put a baseline down, but they are a pay what you want sort of thing. Currently working on two longer ones right now I'm hoping to get finished soon, but if you're cool with waiting, I wouldn't mind adding you to the list :)

It's been a little bit but I'm going to talk about my trading and the things I've had to learn.

I guess I'd start by saying that it isn't gambling. When you gamble, the house is against you, or another player. No one is against you when trading. The market does what the market does and absolutely does not care one bit about whether it's a buy or sell or if you're winning or losing. The market just...IS.

Unlike gambling, it's not over until you say it's over. You can get in and out within a minute or for hours. You can win and win and win and it's not over until you say it's over. Same with losing positions. You CAN lose extensively, until you run out of money, in one go.

Then there's the different types of analysis, and the ways one thinks to get an edge. I have mostly been doing fundamental analysis, learning about trade balance, unemployment, GDP, interest rates, inflation, etc. There's scheduled news about all of these things, and I've been doing my homework, waiting for the news, and making bank off of it.

After a few weeks of watching and testing, I've found something that works. There are hints of what could happen, I set up a trade to trigger if things go the way I think they will. I'm ready to snap trade the other way if not. There's a jump in value and that's where the money is made.

For example, the Fed cut interest rates by 50 basis points. I set up a trade for the US dollar to gain in value, even though interest rate cuts should drop the US dollar value. Doesn't matter. I made $1000 in about 40 seconds.

There's also a second chance to make money. The initial reaction is always over the top. That means it goes the opposite direction, and a chance to make money. Today there was unemployment news and I made on the initial and the pullback, although I definitely didn't do it well. I jumped the gun and committed the other way too early. I had to wait around for about 40 minutes and watch my potential loss rise to $600 before it finally came around and I made $350.

Then there's the actual fundamentals, where the price balance comes back to where it should be after the news ripples fade away. Those are long-term trades and that's way too much stress to watch happen.

I visit the Forex subreddit regularly and I can't make heads or tails of the technical analysis that all these people are trying to do. I don't understand why they are doing this. Most of them are stuck, tired, stressed, and broke. I see why 90% of people fail. Trying to predict the future based on the past is not how any of this works. There may be some patterns that repeat, but every moment in the market is unique, and it can go any way at any time.

For this week, I'm up $4000 that includes $1900 in losses. So that could have been $6000 in my pocket, but I did have some bad spells where I got caught in a bad pattern until I stepped away.

But that's a 3:1 profit to loss ratio with a win percent of ~60%. If I can keep to my strategy and stop making dumb trades, things are going to work out with this as an income stream.

just imagining each of 141 picking up little hints of simon instead of ghost yknow just seeing him human then soldier. Oh he's so much less irritated off the field, talking to them a little more during lunch, his hands a bit softer from the lotion you've made him use, a little less rough around the edges.

They always loved ghost as the no nonsense in and out man on the field, the one who always puts others before himself during missions, a man who'd welcome death with open hands if it meant the rest of 141 would live. They loved Simon, the man on base without the skull of a man hiding him, the one who wore a less scary baklava, the man with scars and cuts on his face when they went to the pub, the man with horrible jokes, the man who'd make the base's shitty tea some what edible.

He was different now especially on the field. Ghost never hesitated to use himself as a shield letting himself take the pain he thought they didnt deserve. He still did but now it was different, he was a wall of muscle but now he pushed for them to get out of fire asap. He stepped in further being more brutal on the field, even more so when anyone on the force was in direct danger. Like he held them a little closer in his heart, like someone made the steel door in his heart crack a little wider.

Simon was different too. Simon ate faster, talked a little more, rushed to get alone as soon as he could, locking his door and not letting anyone in past dark.

Price got tipped off when he saw the little line of white peeking out of one of his vest pocket on the chopper back to base after the whole Las almas mission. Short square shape over his heart under his flag that he wore proudly on his vest. He couldn't see the photo of course but he could tell what it was.

A captain should know everything about his force, their past, present and future. Price knew his past and possible knew more about his present when they weren't on duty. He new Simon shifted flats moving closer to the city center when Simon told him to update his address on his off database file in order to get any cheques or documents for future missions.

Simon didn't tell him why, Price assumed probably better rent or maybe he was sick of the shitty neighbourhood he once resided in, maybe he was sick of walking a half hour for groceries. Now price was getting a itch, an itch he didn't like. Price hated not knowing, of course everyone was entitled to a private life but not when it puts him off.

He felt dirty snooping in Simons office, betraying his lieutenants trust. He waited until simon went back to his quarters, slipping in and shutting the door behind him. Nothing felt different, nothing looked different either. The burning fluorescent lights flickered every now and then, the air was still stale. No photos, no knicknacks on his desk, bare. Absolute bare, devoid of any personality, anything that would tell you about him, anything you could use against him had the enemy invaded base.

Pacing around the room, Price checked under the desk, in the drawers twice wincing at the squeak of the steel on wheels and how loud it sounded shutting. He snooped through documents flicking through them quickly only seeing the same pen and paper against the manila folders. His eyes scanned the room again and again only making him bubble and sigh in frustration running his hand through his hair gripping his hat in the other.

He stared at the metal closet, almost like it was staring back. Everyone had the same one, No one liked opening it, doing that meant leaving , meant war. He hesitated at first turning the little lock handle before opening the door gently trying not to focus on the squeaking.

Everything stared back, Ghost stared back. The mask once plain fabric now soaked in years of war, the blood of war dogs saturated it and the skull of a man no one knew tightly bound to it.

Grim, dirt, filth.

Guns that had killed more men then one could say, knives clean but still holding the smell of iron and sweat, boots with soles dirtied with soil and dust, and his vest. He wanted to shut the door, he wanted to leave, he wanted to do everything that would allow him to pretend nothing happened and that he was never in here. He didn't, justifying in his mind that he was doing the right thing.

Okay, it was bound to happen eventually. Simons on deployment and his poor little civilian girlfriend is left all alone in her little bookshop while he's away on base. Of course he told you before he left and, you both made sure to spend plenty of time together on dates (and in bed)

You send him off with plenty of hugs and kisses reminding him to call whenever he has time and not to forget to take care of himself. Simon would probably keep a few photos of you in his gallery in a locked album that he looks at every night before sleeping once he’s called you.

This man is so paranoid, he even changes his wallpaper. It was a photo of you holding a pie you both made together ( he stood on the side reading the instructions while you did all the work bc you were to scared he would mess with the dough, this man has lived off of mre’s and meat his ass can NOT bake) with a little ghost dough shape baked on the top. Now its just a picture of a pile of books with your glasses on the top of the stack. Easy enough to pass off as a nice photo and still something to remind him of you.

He makes sure he has no trace of you on him once he's on base. Save for the one picture he has of you both holding a big bouquet of flowers side by side, he's staring at you stare at the camera like a love sick puppy, while you're smiling so wide your eyes are shut. That's the only thing he will keep on him, if he dies on the field he wants the last thing he sees to be you. Other than that he risks nothing.

Plain clothes that don't have your smell, none of the fancy lotions you’ve forced him to use, none of the little trinkets you slip in his pocket, none of the little letters you've slipped in his bag (He saved those to read when he came back).

But he was bound to fuck up eventually no?

Soap was the first to get nosy. His LT was never this calm or relaxed on deployment. He rushed a little more to get to his office each night. What was even weirder is he would lock the door this time, he never locked the door.

So of course he started taking matters into his own hands. Standing behind Ghost when he was sitting down on his phone, once he even saw him scroll past the locked album. He didn't open it of course. He never opened that unless he was alone, but he scrolled past it and Soap could see the album title.

Once he hears the click of Ghost's office door locking he instantly straightens up, face locked on like he's on a mission and arm wrapped around Gaz like iron. 

Gaz the poor boy, is verily confused watching this interaction, more confused as to why Soap is dragging him to their Lt’s door.

The article draft I submitted has had constructive comments and positive feedback. It's a relief, considering I struggled to get any work done the entire week and didn't look at my emails (yes, there's a correlation, but at least there was nothing bad in there when I did finally look). Did lots of chores and laundry though, and on Sunday, visited Mom's and did seasonal yardwork - picking up wheelbarrow-loads of fallen apples, then strimming as long as the batteries lasted. My little brother mows with the smallest John Deere, which admittedly gets a lot done fast, but it's no good for tighter spots, and now as the branches droop low with fruit, strimming is the most viable option for cutting the grass beneath. Mom also uses Dad's old lawn mower around the front garden's flower beds and outdoor seating area, so between the three of us, the massive garden is mostly manageable.

In other news, this week, Mom had the well cleaned and fixed. This was long overdue, I guess, the manual pump and the borehole both predated my grandpa buying the place in 1939, and while I remember the pump and the pipes being lifted out for repairs twice in my lifetime, the borehole and the pipes were never thoroughly cleaned. Now, as the pump broke once again, and the water quality having really dropped in the last 10-15 years to the point Mom was bringing tap water from the city, it was time to spend the money on some professional repairs. A guy was found, quoted 600 € for cleaning (it involved running a compressor for 2+ hours to power wash the borehole, removing a blockage at 13 metres, and finding out the entire borehole is 28 m deep! And the water is actually under pressure!), and another 600 for installing a new electrical pump. The result is A++++ in terms of water quality - it's back to perfection, tastes like finest spring water, B for utility - easy to press a button, but whoa the pressure makes it hard to fill a bucket nvm a washbowl, just spraying water everywhere, and C- in terms of looks, compared to the nice antique pump, there's now just a nondescript crooked pipe.

Anyway. In spirit of country living aspirations, I rewarded myself with another impulse-bought quilted jacket. Mind you, I have looked at similar Barbours for a few years, but not bought one, but now found a perfect one by Aquascutum at a price I could cope with. We'll see.

I didn’t have time to expect anything as I found myself going over the booth in the blink of an eye. I convinced my sister to come with me and pay for our entrance fee. To my surprise, there were two massive, yellow python snakes, weighing around 50 kilograms, roaming around a box with a child inside it! I was frightened and amused at the same time. Never had I imagined seeing python snakes inside a local fair! To challenge ourselves, my sister and I decided to take pictures with the snakes for only 40 pesos each. My legs were shaking from fear! I couldn’t even carry the snakes. The lady offered to put the python on my shoulders but I was just too scared. The snakes looked heavier than me! But, my sister took the challenge and agreed to have the snakes to be put on her shoulders. I only took pictures of her but I was still shaking! Afterwards, we felt accomplished as we successfully took up a challenge made by ourselves! It was silly but fulfilling at the same time. Afterwards, my sister and I decided to part ways as she wanted to try the game booths while I wanted to eat something. So, I looked for something to eat. Thereafter, I found a stall that sells tanghulu! I had never tried it before, so I grabbed the opportunity and bought one! To be honest, I was disappointed to see it looking like a banana cue. Upon searching the vicinity, I was thrilled to see an inflatable island floating over the clear waters of the beach! I have been wanting to experience it for years already! When we got back to Lipa, everyone was worn out. We quickly went to bed after settling down.

More than the stories of Lipa, Batangas, its history, cuisine, culture and traditions, if I have learned anything from this quick getaway, it would be the importance of the people whom you are with. See, even with a low-budget, one can still have fun as long as it is with the right people. At least, that was the case for me. Every moment will be a memory, so it is crucial to cherish them and make them memorable.
