Jay still wearing the Ferin crest in her hair because her family are still always in her thoughts, they still subtly control all her actions and drive and her navy teachings are still root in her mind even now, even after she faced her father as a stronger woman. The Navy still hold a tight grip on her mind and you can't always change your upbringing's control over you.

She still mourns and wants to respect fallen navy soldiers. Still wishes to be able to rekindle with Kira, to be able to maybe even rekindle with some of her family. Her grandma still looms a heavy threat over her and unknowingly her Aunt does too with her talks with Edyn.

But they're her family. They're her upbringing. And Jay doesn't want to let go of her love for them regardless of what she's doing in life.
