A/N: Aw, I'm glad you enjoy! I'm so sorry this ask is so late (it has been a bit long of a wait, eh?)

There was nothing and no one that Thancred and G'raha loved more than you

you were their love and their world

but you were a bit too...impulsive for their liking

maybe because you remind them a bit of themselves

they know that you meant well when you shielded them with your own body taking hits and attacks for them before they could react

but it was dangerous

and they would sit you down and talk to you about it

and after their harsh and soft words, they'd hold you close and tell you how much they were happy to have you in their lives

in turn, you'd remind them of some of the things they have done that is equally as impulsive

Thancred: Perhaps we all need a bit of an intervention

G'raha: Perhaps we could come to an understanding that we just mean so much to each other that we'd do anything to keep the other safe

and they were always so thankful when you'd come and take care of them when they were sick or hurt

in the middle of training with Estinien and they needed you?

Estinien (and whoever was in the nearest vicinity) better duck and/or cover cause your weapon is going flying and you'll leaving a dust trail as you rush back home

not to mention you nearly suffocate either boy with many blankets because you worry that they'll get too cold

Thancred once made the mistake of mentioning he had chills

and you brought 4 blankets to his room in less than 30 seconds

honestly he didn't know where you were getting all of these blankets

G'raha loves how you greet him when he comes home after a mission

you run at him and jump on him, regardless if he is prepared to catch you or not

even when you totally mow him down, he can't help but look at you so lovingly as you are so happy to see him

Okie question time: surviving Ancients building a New Amaurot?? Yes pls??? But also how do they survive???? I'm so glad Hyth and Elidibus are there though, they're unabashedly my favourites aside from G'raha and Emet Selch. I was also wondering if you guys have any plans on writing smth about how, after the Final Days, Emet, G'raha and Corrain (and maybe Lelesu) work to find some way to return to the first? This curiosity probably stemmed from you guys giving Lyna interactions with Uncle Emet, I could not stop smiling at those.

okay SO. as to how each of the ancients survives is different; Hyth is the easiest, because in canon on Ultima Thule he and Emet choose to leave instead of using Hydaelyn's magicks to become corporeal again. so he just chooses to stay instead. Elidibus we're saving in the last tier of pandaemonium; between the last lingering fragments of Hydaelyn's gift and Emet's own magic. it will still take him a long time to recover and piece himself back together, but he will. Lahabrea is harder, but we've decided to go with a fan theory that his soul is stuck in Estinien's lance alongside Nidhogg, so once Hyth (who has the best soulsight) gets a look at it they're going to borrow the lance and just yoink him free. his multiple years stuck in a spear alongside an extremely angry dragon watching All That go down have chilled him out and forced him to think on his actions some, though that doesn't mean it'll be smooth sailing all the way through once he's freed.

as for returning to the First, right now we have this on our outline:

i'm headcanoning that the Ascians are capable of traversing the rift physically (even if that's not necessarily quite lore accurate, it's a little bit wibbly) and so Emet is able to take G'raha with him. the others will have to wait until Y'shtola finds a way across on her own, but i expect Elidibus will be willing to help her with that... we will see.

there are several plot points that since it's obviously setting up for future expansions and things, we're kind of waiting to see what the game does with them (like some of the stuff dawntrail introduced). of course we'll probably invent our own stuff eventually if we get to that point in writing and the game still hasn't given us any answers, but since this particular verse is sort of our "canon" we are trying to keep it as game-adjacent as possible so that we don't have to. do tons of wild work for it and it ends up not being related to the current stories being told at all.

i'll tag @sunderedazem in case there's anything he wants to add here, but thank you!! really glad to hear how much you're enjoying things. and the Emet and Lyna interactions are something we both super enjoy too - i actually have a half-done promptfic sitting around that's more of it, i just have to settle down and work on it. though unless something really changes the next thing to be posted will probably be the next bit of Ascian Azem :)

23. oh so many! i am chasing a fic with kit and estinien having some real talk while doing jock things. i know they get on, i know he would really really be able to dig into her in a way she needs and just be the best bro about it.

1. A fanon characterisation that you love

The idea that Aymeric's manspreading is a gender affirming action! I know most people see that and go "omfg he's hung" which I mean, sure. Whatever. But I write a trans Aymeric, so even before he had phallo he'd been doing that. He found people took his presentation more seriously and didn't question him as much so it just became commonplace for him - especially after he got phallo.

Also I really appreciate it when people emphasize the familial relationship between Estinien and Alberic and like. I dunno, actually writing them as a flawed father and his adoptive son. There's a lot of material there, especially with Estinien grappling with the loss of his blood family since he's old enough to remember that too well, but even in spite of Alberic's shortcomings he's still Estinien's living family.

14. A ship or character that you started liking because of someone else (give them/their works a shout out!)

This one is your fault lmao you got me hooked on Ysayle/Heustienne and that brainrot has been terminal. I hadn't even considered it previously but they work so well thematically and with their respective stories - they should've gotten to meet!!!! And your art of them?? Especially with Ysayle kissing Heustienne to pass her the dragon's blood so that she could understand the pain that the Dravanians felt? That one's just so fucking good

AGAIN, you LMAO The constant coordination of estimeric week is not easy in the least bit and you do a really great job pulling things together for the sake of that part of the community. I know things are rough this year, but your dedication to it is really what brings in the heart, y'know?

Another person who deserves recognition is absolutely Kazuma Hashimoto, or @JusticeKazzy_ over on Twitter. He's a journalist and streamer who talks about anti-imperialism in regards to the media we consume. I got hooked onto his stuff on his multiple threads talking about the pan-asia narrative found through Stormblood and he's a really solid writer who does a lot of great work.

And in a general fandom sense, Stitch and their site, Stitch's Media Mix, and podcast, Stitch Talks 'Ish, are really good breakdowns of trends in fandom. A lot of celebrating parts of queer fandom and black fandom (like the love letter to black cosplayers they wrote for Teen Vogue), as well as needed commentary & critique on racist trends in fandom and ways to navigate it. I really love their podcast (it's on spotify, pls go check it out) because they just radiate so much positive energy when they talk about stuff. Really charming voice, too. Great person, wish them all the best genuinely.

GETTING A HOUSE it took forever to finally save up the gil and then actually get lucky with the lottery system. i've decorated it and am super happy with how it turned out!
