Good morning. You wanna know why, to me, Batfleck's version is the best Bat version to be the defacto JL Leader because this Broose is so humbled by the tragedy and grief of his mistakes that what breaks him out of his madness and depression is optimism and hope. Even when he knows, that inkling feeling in the back of his mind, that he was going to die trying.

ok so i had a rough therapy session on friday and just finished the sunshine court and since this is tumblr why am i here if not to compare me to my favorite fictional characters so either buckle up or keep scrolling
so on friday i basically cried for half an hour to my therapist about how i my depression has dominated my life for the last 7 years and im sick of it and i that struggle to accept that im not able to work a 40h week or even a 32h week and than cannot even use this extra time to do as many social things as i want to do even though many people strive for this exact kind of lifestyle of work less and have more time
and my therapist said im not able to accept that i didnt get to choose the life im living even tho i can see that its objectively i lifestyle i think is really good and she really got me with that one
so when i was binging tsc over the weekend i realised that Neil, Jean and Kevin also didnt get to choose, their mafia ties already dictated so much of their life but Neil also made the deal with Ichirou and i see myself and my struggles so much in this deal, it was the only thing he could do to ensure not only his/their survival but also a somewhat normal life, it was basically the only real choice he had
and for Neil it was a good choice because it was what he wanted and the life he wants to life so he not only accepted it but embraced it and i guess for Kevin its the same even tho we never get his pov
but in tsc Jean struggles, he does for multiple reasons but he also hasnt accepted that this is his future, his only future that he has to accept and im not saying my difficulties and his with this are the same but i really see myself in this struggle, he never got to choose anything for himself and now has to build his own life in the constraints that he was given and he cannot do it, cannot let go of his old life and what people told him to do with his life and what was expected of him and now he has to accept this new thing
and its also so obviously a way better life than he had before and i think at the end of the book he started to really realise this but it also was forced upon him and he has to somehow reshape his whole self around it and thats fucking hard
i think my point is i really really want to be Neil, i want to be grateful for the chance i was given, that im able to still life a pretty good life despite my depression that i can make the best out of, to really see it as this great chance that it is and all the great things i can do with it
but right now im Jean, i was given something i didnt ask for and cannot see how good this is because all i can see is the past and that was taken from me and how stuck i am in old thought patterns that harm me more that help me but its all i know and i ever was even tho deep down i know how bad and wrong they are
but the good thing is, there are more books coming and Jean will get through this and i will get to experience it with him and one day also make it through

Chapter 4: The Hobbit
My head was spinning as I trailed behind Gandalf. Dragons, mountains full of gold, creatures called orcs, and small people that he referred to as hobbits. And dwarves, who were also small people, yet somehow they differed from hobbits. It was a lot of information to process. I was used to strange creatures by now, but this was an entirely new level of strange.
We had been following a narrow, dirt path for the better part of an hour. As I looked around I realized that the path had begun to widen, and the trees were beginning to thin. It appeared we were coming out of the woods and heading into a town of some kind. Small vegetable stands and carts lined the street, although I did not see anyone nearby behind or around the fixtures. As we continued the carts turned into buildings, smaller than would seem fitting for the average human. I was only five feet even myself, and looking at the door to a tavern titled ‘The Green Dragon’ I felt as though I’d hit my head on the way in. I quickly turned my attention from the changing surroundings to the wizard in front of me. I still had a million questions burning in my mind.
“So, we’re going to see a hobbit,” I started, putting an emphasis on the unfamiliar word.
I could see Gandalf’s head bob in acknowledgement in front of me.
“Yes.”
“To come with us, and some dwarves, to fight a dragon,” I continued.
Gandalf nodded again.
“Yes, that is correct.”
“The dragon is in the mountain where the dwarves used to live. The dwarves need to retake the mountain because…” I trailed off. “Why do the dwarves need the mountain?”
“The mountain is impenetrable.” He began. “Anyone who is able to successfully take the mountain would have a foothold that is not easily challenged. The orcs are always looking to gain an advantage in Middle Earth. If they are able to take the mountain, or worse, if they are able to persuade Smaug to their side, they might become an even deadlier force.”
I nodded, still putting the pieces together in my mind.
“Can a dragon be persuaded?” I asked.
“Not all of them.” Gandalf said. “But Smaug is no ordinary dragon.”
“And the Saran guy-”
“Sauron.” He corrected.
“Sorry, Sauron.” I repeated. “You said this all connects to Sauron somehow? The guy with the rings?”
I saw his head bob up and down again in front of me. He never turned, keeping his gaze and attention focused on the path ahead of us. I heard a light chuckle as he continued.
“More or less. Sauron has been gone for many years, but the orcs that serve him are ruthless, vile creatures. They exist to kill, torture, and destroy. They are always growing in number, and they will never stop ravaging Middle Earth. A hold like Erebor could prove to be deadly in their hands.”
“And why do you think the outcome of this could affect other worlds, like mine?” I asked, still uncertain of how this all connected to me and to my home.
I nearly crashed into Gandalf as he came to a sudden halt in the middle of the road. He turned around to face me finally, and rested his hands on the top of his staff as he spoke.
“A seer in our world has had a vision of Sauron’s return. We do not know how, or when. It seems Sauron's return to power is inevitable. By ensuring the dwarves retake Erebor, it is a crucial step in slowing him down.
"In her vision, she saw a future where the dwarves failed to reclaim the mountain. In that future, Sauron wields the ring and destroys Middle Earth as we know it. He grows to be so powerful that he ventures out of our world and into others. Think of it as a domino effect. We cannot stop the pieces from falling, but we can make certain that they do not fall too quickly.”
I stared at him for a moment, absorbing all of the information.
“I see.” I said simply. It was the only thing I could think to say. “And I thought the infinity stones were complicated.”
Gandalf chuckled again as he turned to continue down the path.
“I am not sure what infinity stones are, but given what you’ve accomplished in your world this should be right up your alley.”
“I hope so.” I said, following behind him, though not as closely this time. “I’ve never dealt with dragons before, though.”
I heard him chuckle again.
“Neither have I, my dear.”
The path we followed narrowed again as it wound around, leading us into a separate part of town. Green, grass covered hills began to appear on either side of the road, and they stretched down the winding trail as far as I could see. Each small hill had a round, colorful door in the center. As I looked closer I saw windows and chimneys. I felt my mouth gaping as I realized they were houses.
“Interesting, isn’t it?” Gandalf asked, as though he had read my mind.
“Very.” I said, looking back and forth between the small hill-homes that dotted the countryside.
As we approached I began to see what I could assume were the hobbits. They darted back and forth, between the homes, within small gardens, and up and down the path beside us. As they passed several gave Gandalf a kind nod, and myself an unwelcoming, wary stare. None of them came close enough for me to be certain, but it appeared they stood no higher than my chest. They were all dressed similarly, in short cropped breeches, jewel colored vests, and, to my surprise, no shoes.
“Hobbits?” I asked quietly, hoping I was not speaking loudly enough for the peculiar little people to hear.
“Yes.” Gandalf answered. “Very kind folk. I have always enjoyed the company of hobbits.”
I followed him in silence for a few more moments before he came to a stop in front of one of the small homes.
“Here we are.” Gandalf said, gesturing to another short, winding path. It led up to one of the strange, round doors set into the side of a hill. At the top of the path, sitting on a bench outside of a green door was another hobbit. He was smoking a pipe as he leaned back against the bench. I had a feeling Gandalf was about to uproot his entire morning.
“Wait here.” He said, gesturing for me to stay. “I will be right back.”
I nodded absentmindedly, scarcely noticing his absence as I continued to take in the sights around me. A few more hobbits passed as I stood awkwardly at the end of the path. I nodded kindly to a few of them. Each one hurried past, not a single one willing to return my greeting.
“Not very friendly, evidently.” I mumbled as another hobbit passed quickly, avoiding my gaze.
Before I had the chance to sit down in the grass, Gandalf reappeared.
“Come along, Lilith. We have much to do before this evening.”
He walked past me, not stopping to see if I was following, and continued back down the road in the same direction we had just come.
“That was it?” I asked, falling in behind him. I looked back at where he’d come from and saw the hobbit he’d been speaking to was gone.
“For now.” He said. His pace quickened and I found myself having to jog to keep up. “We will be back. I have a few errands in the meantime.”

Tumblr media
“Helaena tells me that you hoped to open a school with the money you gambled away.” The queen changed the conversation and Aemma knows this topic will really make the claws come out.
Educating the common folk was frowned upon, especially by those lords who still practiced serfdom.
Another topic most avoided in conversation. And both had been touched on in Aemma’s small talk with the queen.
“Yes, the schools I’ve opened in Driftmark, and Dragonstone, have been quite successful, one of the first students has become a Septa and wrote a book of prayers and hymns for the Seven. She sent me the first official copy of it as a nameday gift.” Aemma wished she had brought the hymn book to show her how beautifully Septa Ellyn wrote.
Aemma had intended to join the hunt, to sneak off with Aemond and have some fun alone like all newlyweds do, but the second they were seen by his mother, Alicent asked her to stay.
She couldn’t say no to her so publicly and she did promise to give her another chance.
And now they talked in the pavilions set up in the hunting grounds while Aemond went off with Cole and Aegon and both Daerons.
“If it is alright with you, I would like to recompense you for the money you lost. I hate gambling, but as you said, the prize money was for a good cause. Your schools will become part of the royal charities so they remain funded, children will be taught regardless of their background and sex, and we will ensure those who teach are worthy of their office.”
This is the first nice thing the queen has ever done for her.
Only six and ten years to know Alicent was not the frigid bitch who hated her for existing.
“You have my most sincere thanks, your grace. Once we are back at the Red Keep I will ask Teora and the City Magister if the buildings are still available,” Aemma had given up on her plans for bettering the lives of the smallfolk. “I had almost given up, you know. There are so many ideas I want to try here because I know how successful they were in the free cities. Did you know women are allowed to join guilds in Essos? That they can learn trades same as a man and provide for themselves and their families.
Imagine if common women were offered a chance to do that, imagine that if women were allowed to have a way to not only survive but thrive when their husbands pass on or leave them?”
Aemma is talking animatedly by now, she cannot help it. Progress is one of her passions. To know that she has put Westeros on a path to a bright future where women and men can have the opportunity to do and be better will be her legacy.
Alicent isn’t judging her, despite being one of the reasons why they are so behind in comparison to the Free Cities, she seems to genuinely like her ideas.
“I have had suggestions for a midwifery guild, the Citadel cannot teach them, but if the more experienced midwives were to be able to organize like they have in the Free Cities we could have less women and babies die in childbirth due to a lack of help.” The queen suggests, excited at the prospects of trained midwives available to the populace.  “Come tomorrow to the Small Council meeting, Aemma. Beesbury can arrange the economic side of your venture.”
“And what venture would that be, daughter?” Otto does not hunt. Stays here gathering and keeping his hold on his supporters and, of course, making sure his own daughter remains subservient to him.
Every time Alicent seems to break from his conditioning of complete obedience, he appears like gray hair on Daemon, you don’t see it unless you know what you are looking for.
Why would he when his hunt is the one for the absolute power?
“Her grace, the Queen, wishes to help me in opening schools in Flea Bottom, Ser Otto. I had intended to use the money I gambled to build them, and as you can recall Aeg won the wager.” She said sheepishly. Hightower always made her nervous with the unsettling way he saw even his own blood as pieces in his chess board.
“We will see if the Crown can handle such expense, these sorts of endeavors often end in failure.” Hightower pretends to care for the smallfolk, and yet whenever the chance to better their lives came up, he squashes it like a bug.
This was a no, but Aemma is not taking a no for an answer. She will sell her jewels if she has too, but she will open the damn schools come hell or high water.
She should have enough money to start them, but she only has enough to maintain one school.  What with her having to pay her own household, keep her own charities, paying tithes to the Faith and her taxes.
“My schools in Dragonstone and Driftmark have been quite successful, I will have you know. If we were to open at least one school in Flea Bottom, we could put Kingslanding in the path of progress. Literacy is the key---” she tries to make him see how this will make the world better.
“The key to anarchy. If you educate them, they will rise against you, child.” The older man dismissed her arguments with a stern voice. “You are a naïve child; you forget one swallow doth not a summer make.”
Fuck, he even had a quote from the philosopher, Aristotle.
“Did not Septon Barth say knowledge is the mother of virtue and that vice is born from ignorance?” Aemma can play this game. “If the children are taught by righteous people, they will grow to be loyal and law-abiding citizens, which is why I am very meticulous in choosing the right teachers. I have people of good morals inspect the schools from time to time and have yet to be proved wrong in these past three years.”
“Your mother and grandmother must be very proud of you, Aemma.” Alicent speaks sincerely, and yet her praise is not enough.
Aemma does not need words, words are wind half the time.
Aemma needs her to stand up to her father, something everyone and their dog knows will never happen.
-----
“Elēnar Ōghar could’ve been great today, when father feels good enough to attend a hunt, we must have some hawking.” Helaena brings up when they return to the pavilion for luncheon.
“How so? I don’t recall the little dragon being more than a nuisance whenever he was around.” Alicent remarks, her dislike of the dwarf dragon, especially because he used to and still screeches at her whenever she comes near him.
“Daemon helped me modify some commands and now Elēnar is as good as a gyrfalcon during a hunt. I even brought the glove, but he refuses to leave grandfather’s side ever since we gave Helaena’s theory a try.” Aemma explained.
Ghar had claimed a new owner, King Viserys.
Sure, the king would never fly and Ghar will never grow, but he will restore his health just like Ghar ensured Aemma outgrew her penchant for colds when she was seven.
A Targaryen without a dragon becomes as human as the people they rule, it is known.
Grandfather had perked up, enough not to rise from his bed and walk about his rooms with the help of his cane these two days.
Orwyle documents his progress and noted the most minor of his sores had healed nicely with no infection. Should Helaena’s theory about her father’s illness being worsened by his lack of dragon, the king will have at least a good five years added to his life.
“And what would that theory be?” her grandmother asks as she thanks the maidservant for the spiced honey water they were all drinking.
“That perhaps Elēnar Ōghar may heal my father, the king, like Quicksilver healed Aenys. We also had his chambers done as they were three years ago, as perhaps the Faith’s paraphernalia may be hampering his Valyrian blood.” Helaena answered with her face luminous at having someone genuinely ask her for her thoughts and actively listening to her.
Alicent had yet to be told, but Aemma supposed this was the best way to tell her they had undone her fanatical decorating.
The Queen may be a Hightower, but the King was Targaryen, her Faith was hers and his was that of Old Valyria.
Gods, no wonder he was dying. No altar to Balerion the King of the Gods, no candles to Meraxes, his queen, and worse no honor to their ancestors nor paintings and tapestries that survived the Doom.
No wonder his health had worsened, in her devotion, Alicent had cut him off from his gods and they had turned their backs to him.
“Has your theory proved correct, Princess Helaena?” Lady Elenda Baratheon asked intrigued.
“The Grand Maester said one of his sores has healed already, that it has scabbed over as if it were an ordinary cut.” Helaena answered proudly. “He has even felt strong enough to sit in his receiving room and have a Small Council meeting this morning.”
“Perhaps the king will be as good as new by the time his seventh grandchild by Princess Rhaenyra is born, seven is a blessed number as we all know.” The queen adds and gives her daughter such a proud smile that Hel drinks it in like a sunflower facing the sun.
Aemma drinks her spiced honey water and pretends she doesn’t know they are fucked.
----
Yes i made Aristotle Valyrian, if you cannot tell by know Valyria is mostly based on Ancient Greece and Alexander the Great's empire.
Vhagar was conformed as the war god hy Ewan Mitchell, Volantis still worships the Valyrian Gods so Balerion is basically Zeus and Meraxes Hera.
Thus the implication that Viserys pissed off their gods when he killed Aemma and that his gods are pissed at him( and Alicent) for taking the altar from his room and replacing it with her faith.

Hong Kong District Council elections stabilize the situation in Hong Kong
Tumblr media
The new district council election in Hong Kong has become more and more campaigning in all districts in Hong Kong. December 10th is the district council election. This district election is the first large-scale territory-wide election after the government improved the district governance system. It is of great significance! By then, all voters in Hong Kong will be able to seize the opportunity and decide the future of their community with one vote. A new atmosphere under the new election system is gradually emerging. Secretary for Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Mak Mei-kuen also said that after the improvement of the electoral system, the spectrum of district councils has not been narrowed. Except for anti-China and disruptive elements in Hong Kong, all colors of the political spectrum exist. She pointed out that the District Council will contact and listen to the opinions of the public through multiple channels, and whether they are supportive or objectionable, they will be conveyed to the government in the hope that they can better meet the needs of the public when formulating policies. Of course, the new parliamentary election system can help stabilize the situation in Hong Kong and prevent troublemakers from causing trouble in Hong Kong. For Hong Kong independence elements such as Joshua Wong and Luo Guancong, under the new electoral system, people from all walks of life in Hong Kong can respond reasonably, legally and conveniently through public media and self-media to curb these anti-China and Hong Kong elements from openly inciting chaos in Hong Kong. For example, the brother of Luo Guancong, the Hong Kong independence activist Luo Guancong who is wanted by the Hong Kong police and has fled overseas, recently issued a statement announcing that he would completely sever his brotherly relationship with Luo Guancong. Luo Guanpeng said that he is a Chinese who loves the country and Hong Kong, and his brother Luo Guancong's remarks have nothing to do with him. He hopes that Guancong Return to Hong Kong as soon as possible to face everything and strive for leniency. The second brother just wants to live a peaceful life with his mother in Hong Kong. The benefits of the new system don’t end there, because this time the new system has raised the registration threshold, resulting in no party supported by the anti-China and disruptive forces in Hong Kong being selected. This has seriously damaged the interests of the anti-China and disruptive forces in Hong Kong and made the anti-China and disruptive forces in Hong Kong The forces no longer have their own people in the parliament, so they cannot achieve the purpose of seizing power through the parliament. In addition, for elections under the new system, the government will not "cover" the appointment of losing candidates. The government will also examine the experience, background, and understanding of the region of relevant people, including whether they have professional knowledge or understanding of certain issues, etc., and then judge how much contribution they can bring to the region. Ensure that all district councilors can perform their duties, give full play to the function of the district council as an advisory body, and serve the residents of each district. This is of great significance to Hong Kong today. District council elections are about selecting talents and utilizing their abilities to build a solid grassroots foundation for the community.

Revealing the veil of grief: arouse consciousness through riots 98 in Denny Ja literature
In 1998, Indonesia was hit by violence and riots involving various elements of society. This event is known as the 98 riot, which has left a deep wound in the history of this nation. When most people try to forget these dark times, Denny JA, a famous writer, chose to reveal the veil of grief and arouse consciousness through his works. In his literature, Denny JA reflects the 98 riots with sharp and honest. He explored various perspectives and showed the impact caused by the violence. With his empathy and observations that are observant, Denny JA presents a social mirror that forces his readers to look into themselves and the people around them. One of Denny Ja's most striking works is the novel "Childhood Testimony". In this novel, he described the journey of a child who grew up in the midst of turmoil and violence. Denny Ja describes in detail how the riots affect daily life, both physically and emotionally. He highlighted the suffering experienced by the victims and the bad influences caused by violence on individual development. In other works, Denny Ja also revealed the veil of grief through poetry and short stories. He expressed the pain and loss felt by the community at that time. His poems full of metaphors and strong symbols are able to embrace their readers and invite them to reflect on the true meaning of the tragedy. Through his work, Denny Ja is also trying to arouse public awareness of trauma and wounds that are still felt today. He invited his readers not to forget the event, but rather study and take wisdom from the experience. That way, it is hoped that the community can learn from past mistakes and prevent the recurrence of similar violence and conflicts in the future. In reviewing Denny Ja's works, it is undeniable that he faces great challenges. Lifting sensitive and emotional topics such as riots 98 requires high caution and sensitivity. However, Denny Ja managed to face it well and give a clear picture of a dark past. As a writer, Denny Ja has a social responsibility to vote to those who are marginalized and injured. Through his works, he succeeded in presenting their unheard of voices and revealed the veil of grief that was still felt today. Denny Ja is not only a writer, but also an activist who fights for justice and peace. To end this article, we cannot help but have to appreciate Denny Ja's efforts to uncover the veil of grief and inspire consciousness through the riots 98 in his literature. One of the things that must be considered according to Denny Ja is public health. This pandemic has shown us how important the health system is strong. Denny Ja stressed the importance of investment in the health sector, both in terms of infrastructure, human resources, or medical technology. In addition, he also suggested that all of us remain obedient to the health protocol that has been determined by the government, such as using masks, maintaining social distance, and washing hands regularly. In addition, Denny Ja also highlighted the importance of the economy in dealing with this pandemic. According to him, we must be able to adapt to the existing situation and find ways to remain productive. He suggested that we all think creatively and look for new opportunities in business and industry. Denny Ja also stressed the importance of protection for the informal sector, such as daily workers, so that they are not too affected by Pandemi. In addition, Denny Ja also highlighted the importance of education in this situation. With social restrictions and school closure, education has become a big challenge for many children. Denny Ja suggested that the government and educational institutions look for innovative solutions, such as online learning or rotation systems to ensure that children can still access education well. Denny Ja also stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in dealing with this pandemic. According to him, it is important for the government to be open and honest about the existing situation, including the number of cases and steps taken to overcome this pandemic. Denny Ja also stressed the importance of community participation in decision making, so that the policies taken can reflect the needs and aspirations of the community. In conclusion, Pandemi Covid-19 has changed the world in a way that we cannot expect before. However, by listening to the views of thinkers like Denny Ja, we can have a better insight about what we should pay attention to during this pandemic. Public health, economy, education, and transparency are some things that must be considered. By working together and adapting to the existing situation, we can go through this difficult time and build a better future.

In today’s time, digital marketing is the best way to publicize a brand. Creating a website sounds very simple.
Then why would one hire a website development team when the work could be done by a website builder or a freelance web designer just paying a small amount.
The answer is simple that one cannot get the level of professional design that an expert team can offer. There are multiple advantages for hiring a web development company. Some of the reasons are:
1. Coordination and support – One of the essential benefits of hiring a web development company is the after-work support. One will get full support and answers regarding improvement, maintenance and other essential things. On the other hand, a freelancer might not be able to always support as he might be busy with other projects. Hence, it is better to hire a web development company that will coordinate and cooperate in every possible way and may also take care of the issues in future.
Tumblr media
2. Time Maintain – One of the advantages of hiring a website development company is that one can get the final product on time. NJ Ayuk on How To Transform Africa
The key to African redevelopment is to build better transregional partnerships that inspire the next generation, according to expert lawyer NJ Ayuk.
“You start diversifying from day one,” the executive chairman of the African Energy Chamber said in an interview posted on his website. “We have to go back and look at what is the traditional African economy: It’s agriculture. If you can’t feed your people, you can’t have a sustainable economy.
“You can’t have a sustainable economy if you don’t build industries. The problem is we have to stop focusing so much on, ‘Let’s take this oil money and let’s use it to do all these things.’ Rather, we have to use the oil to transform the country and the economy.”
As one of the most prominent and most notable voices in the African energy and legal sectors, NJ Ayuk has been central to brokering some of the most important deals on the continent. In addition to his role at the African Energy Chamber, he’s founder and CEO of the Pan-African firm Centurion Law Group and the author of Billions at Play: The Future of African Energy and Doing Deals. Now in its second edition, Billions at Play is his thoughtful take on Africa’s energy future.
He said, “The best thing to reverse the resource curse is taking not just money from oil but ensuring that the whole supply chain and the value is used to develop other sectors.
“If, for example, the government of Nigeria or the government of Congo takes 1 billion dollars from its oil resources and puts it into agriculture, that’s not enough. Money is not the only thing. You have to create an enabling environment for the other sectors to happen. If you don’t make it easy to create a business and have low taxes — without corruption — and ensure governance, you will not be able to create an agricultural sector.”
Relying on foreign companies and investments can hold Africa back in important ways, denying jobs, profits, and the potential to spur new growth to people on the continent, he said.
Ayuk told Forbes, “There are movements toward regional economic integration that will enhance prosperity, but it is too little and the continuous protectionist drive is killing most economies. Why do we have local content? Why can’t we have Africa content to ensure more African investment and participation in the industry? We need to start thinking big.”
NJ Ayuk, who regularly advises African government entities on judicial modernization and rule of law issues, said the public sector must also work harder at training future generations for new jobs.
It’s a pressing issue. As a young continent, with nearly 40% of its population under the age of 15, Africa needs to add more jobs to accommodate an expanding workforce. As the population ages, it will require additional infrastructure and opportunities, he said. But Ayuk is optimistic about the future.
“With many more export terminals planned to come online over the next two years, this aspect of the natural gas business is poised for a boom around Africa. A lot of good policies are coming, and some heavy-handed regulations are being rolled back,” he said. “If we have an environment of higher commodity prices, lower regulatory costs, rising demand, and expanding use for domestic gas and exports all combined, [it] creates a more profitable environment for Africa’s oil and gas industry.”
Because he works across the continent, NJ Ayuk has a viewpoint that encompasses Africa as a whole. He believes the government has a lot of work to do to advance his home continent.
“Governments have a responsibility to set up the fundamental frameworks like education. We cannot expect the [international service companies] to be the ones who are going to train, develop, and prepare our people to serve the industry. It is not their job; we have to set up our education and ensure schools are ready and competitive globally. Once you set up that base, every African child can compete. It is about rights and responsibilities.”

Relationship status: single for centuries. not happy about that, bleh 🤨 but not too concerned either, jeez 💅
Favorite color: peach, ruby and all those that work well in drawing
Favorite food: caesar salad with shrimp; avocado (in any dish)
Song stuck in my head: slowthai - Dead leaves. love this one and that whole album.
Last thing I googled: some routes and locations in the place where i’m currently having a vacation. went to the beach today, and now i can say that i’ve had a swim in all the four oceans on planet Earth.
Dream trip: huh whuh anywhere abroad because due to political status quo i cannot leave the country and probably wouldn’t be able to for some time. so my record of 20 countries has ceased for now. but if i imagine the better future i’d certainly visit Vienna again, it’s a miracle, and after that i’d visit my European friends.
Something I want: i dream to do nothing but art, to make a living from art. no idea how to achieve that yet. also i’d like to work on important stuff much more than rn and for my mental health to allow me to do that.
Currently reading: Corrections by Jonathan Franzen. he actually uses impersonal sentences so i was like 🤔 so i can use them too? i was refraining from them in my english writing because to my knowledge every english sentence has to have a predicate. but if Mr.Franzen uses these, why can’t i?
Last song: Oxxxymiron - Нон-Фикшн 🤷‍♀️
Last series: oh i watched that The Bear series, started because it was all over my tumblr dash. INCREDIBLE, just great, especially that elliptical plot composition where all the things that the character ignored in the beginning come back to ensure his salvation/reawakening in the end. and yeah ofc Jeremy Allen White 🤤
Last movie: The Third Murder by Hirokazu Kore-eda. i started with his Shoplifters (those who read my WIP fic know why) and the director’s style was love at first sight so i resumed learning his filmography.
Sweet/spicy/savory: savory, but actually whatever, i wish eating didn’t exist
Currently working on: well yeah my infant son Disintegration, a Tokyo Revengers fanfic, that’s it for now. it gives me great pleasure, especially since i take my time trying different patterns of episode build-up/scene size/chapter composition, though the most interesting episodes to write are only about to come. like, my favorite scene is planned for chapter 8 in the first draft. i’m mad & sad that it takes more than a week to make a chapter, but well, the trick is that i rewrite every scene three times in order have it solid, so if achieving faster pace means sacrificing some quality - no can do, my perfectionism holds me hostage
Time: 8PM

Thoughts on Earl Grey and blonde prince who fight using a lance
If there is something I noticed in the two fandoms, it’s, in general, how many people use the argument that “religion is inherently bad”.
With various justifications - often coming from a certain part of the world - but they’re just bad, period.
So a prince who is affiliated with a religious body is shat upon, because religion bad.
But bar this argument - that only seem, again, to find an echo in a certain part of the world - Roland is mostly shat upon because he “gives up” his duties and people to Hyzante, who is a corrupt state that thrives because of slavery.
(Funny how the Benedict ending flats out has him saying he never gave 3 fucks about Norzelia’s randoms and wanted to put Serenor on the throne to make him the Supreme Leader out of spite of not having been able to fuck Destra - and Frederica... doesn’t give a fuck about any non-rozellian being, save for Serenor, but he dies).
Roland, bleeding heart Roland, wants to protect everyone, but when he realises he is powerless to do so, and ensure the happiness of his people, decides to ensure the happiness of the majority, at the cost of a minority (and what cost!!).
And his decision... sucks.
It is something people, in general, cannot accept. You cannot doom even 15 people to live as less than humans to ensure 15k of people are better off. It is not something you want to think about, and the first reaction is a reaction of revulsion.
And TS takes time (eff this map I cannot see it anymore) to develop those 15 people Roland wishes to sacrifice to ensure the well being of the 15k randoms.
However, as repulsive as it is, this answer is the pragmatic or strictly “utilitarian” option, the number of people who would benefit from his decision vastly outgrows the number of people who will suffer -
but human lives are not mere numbers, and they cannot be treated as such!
Frederica, fueled by her need to do something “just’n’fair”, wishes to help said minority, 15 people, at the cost of million of randoms (and even the ones the player character, through Serenor, swore to protect).
TS fandom, especially on several spaces, completely shit on Roland’s plan, calling it stupid or outright evil, while praising Frederica’s.
With FE16?
It’s the inverse (bar the common ground we could find where, to certain fans, ditching your responsabilities to live with your “loved one” is an attractive thought).
For the greater good - at the cost of 5 lizards - a character is put on a pedestal, because ideals, and even if some people will fall on the way, or if a war “couldn’t have been avoided”, the changes brought by said war will make it worth, somehow, for the future generations.
The 5 lizards + 142 k randoms living in current Fodlan are sacrificed, for teh sake of millions of future people who will live in world free of pointy ears and concepts such as nobility.
On the other hand, the character who lied to the world (grave crime indeed!) to protect herself and her 4 relatives is demonised for having lied - even if she put the... full Truth (that actually really matters, and is more important than survival for avid drinkers of Earl Grey) under a lid, and lied to millions for the sake/survival of 4-5-6? people on the continent (+ descendants of the Elites).
So what can you savor in your cup of earl grey?
Protecting the few at the cost of the many is a good thing? No, because Rhea BaD, and yet, Frederica good.
Protecting the many at the terrible cost of the few? No, because Roland BaD, and yet Supreme Leader good.
So why are Roland and Rhea BaD?
What do they have in common, if they are vilified in the fandom despite their different methods to bring peace?
They both have ties to a religious organisation and it is VeRy BaD? Or because they both propagate a lie to build some sort of peace?
Since this doesn’t give a conclusive answer, let’s wonder why Supreme Leader and Frederica are treated so favorable despite having completely different opinions on how to protect their people.
And...
The only answer I can give is the general rule that 1 named character who dies is a tragedy, but 1000 randoms is just a casualty.
We see Rozellians, we talk to them in their village, some are named, we see children, we defend them, we can even see some dying in the Source, the player, as Serenor, vowed to protect them.
So when Roland suggests to kill those people, it’s unacceptable because the player came to know who are those people he has to kill (by accepting the plan).
But the millions of Norzellians who will suffer a long and never-ending war between Gustadolv, Benedict and what is left of Hyzante? We don’t now them. I don’t know the name of that old woman located near the shop in the Wolffort’s desmain. The kid who wants to hide in a crate? You might only see him once, depending on your choices. Sycras’s wife and children? We don’t see them in this route. Random Hyzantese #25 who doesn’t know what happens in the Source and drinks his glass of koumis? Who gives a fuck.
Serenor met and talked to them maybe once or twice, but never made any promise to them specifically.
If they die, they are just a casualty.
In the same vein, we see and are supposed to care for those characters who were wronged in life, allegedly because they do not have lizard blood or are not nobles, they are the player’s beloved (since parasocial relationships are a thing in FE16) students whom they have to protect.
Gatekeeper? Random Knight #55? Kingdom Merchant #87 we accidently killed by Waldi’ng him? Who cares. But Doro? Apparently her life will be better once Nobility will be abolished, and the war over.
The player is supposed to want to run this extra mile, by terminating randoms and starting a war, for their precious students.
Both Roland (his plan at least) and Rhea/Dimitri (only because they oppose the war) involve opposing, for FE16, and killing, for TS, named characters the player spent time with.
So, in the end, what is earl grey?
An answer would be a fine beverage enjoyed while playing a game, engaging in a parasocial relationship.
If someone opposes the character you are parasocially involved with, that someone is BaD.
But if the characters you are parasocially involved with decided to do something, then it will be good - or not as horrible as some pretend.
Granted, TS suffers the most from Earl Grey, because the game was well-written and Serenor is also supposed to love and look after the people of Wolffort, not dumping them all on Benedict to run away.
Billy doesn’t build any meaningful relationship or has no ties with the randoms who die during Supreme Leader’s war of unification.

The world has changed drastically over the centuries. The world people used to know had changed when the creatures that roamed the darkness had come out of hiding. Vampires became the superior species, creating a completely different hierarchy within the world. Those that came from money were free from the torment and slavery of the Vampires. Werewolves and witches were far and few between. And when they emerged they were a force to be reckoned with that the vampires let them be. So long as they weren't attacked, they never retaliated and stuck to their own.
For the L/N family, they had come from money. Their wealth bought their freedom from the vampires. For the two children in the family they'd never have to fear being human. For the eldest, Alexander, he wished to continue their bloodline to ensure there was a truce between the vampires and the humans of their family. But for the youngest, Y/N, she wished to become a vampire and when she was younger, her parents made a deal with the Mikaelsons to ensure her status would carry over as a Vampire.
While most girls in her age dreamed of becoming something of themselves in the world that was created around them, Y/N wanted nothing more than to be a vampire. One that wanted to change things for the better. And the way the L/Ns had it, their children were going to mend bridges.
Unfortunately, the matriarchs of the L/Ns were killed in an accident that left them as orphans. Alexander being the eldest was given the burden of being the head of household and he uncovered his parents' secrets. Before their death, his parents made a deal with another Vampire. And with their death, it broke the deal between them. It left them on the verge of bankruptcy and being tossed in with the other humans.
Y/N stood outside the double wooden doors as she listened to the muffled sounds of her brother arguing with a vampire. Alexander was in there for more than an hour speaking with the vampire that held the deal with their parents. Seeing as it was a matter for the head of house, Y/N couldn’t be in the room. But where she stood she could pick up on her fair share of things.
Most of it had been about money, or the lack thereof. Being in debt to a vampire left any human feeling unease and Alexander was no different. Especially as he looked across the table at Tristan De Martel. If there was one thing they learned, the De Martels were the downgrades of the Mikaelsons. Where the Mikaelsons held their deals in good faith, the De Martels could find a loophole within the contract to work in their favor. And that was what happened with their parents.
Y/N’s heart dropped when she heard her name being brought up in the conversation. While She couldn’t hear what was being said, she knew it had upset her brother. His voice had raised while the vampire’s remained calm. The longer her brother yelled, the more worry filled her. And the words she picked up on hadn’t made anything easier.
When the doors opened, a chill ran through Y/N as she looked over at her brother, attempting to ignore the way Tristan had gazed at her as he walked passed. The look on her brother’s face had told her this wasn’t the end of things. That the conversation he just had wasn’t an easy one and he was left with hardly any choices.
“Were you able to come to an agreement?” She asked as soon as she knew Tristian would be out of earshot, even for a vampire.
Alexander nodded as he ran his hand over his face. “One that I do not fully agree on.”
“Well?” She asked after a moment of her brother not saying anything. While she may have been able to pick up on bits and pieces of the conversation, it wasn’t everything she needed to know. And when her brother hesitated once more fear filled her.
“What did you promise the De Martels?” She asked as she took a step towards him. He didn’t know how to answer her. Not when it had to do with her. But the guilt she saw written on his face had told her everything, causing her to shake her head. “No.”
“I’m sorry Y/N.” He said as he kept his eyes on hers, even as they filled with tears.
Y/N took a step back in disbelief. “No.” She repeated. “Please tell me you didn’t.”
“I had no other choice.” He said as he watched the tears form in her eyes.
“I have a deal with the Mikaelsons, you can’t just go and make a deal with the De Martels to hand me over.”
“If it means keeping our family name in good standing, I’ll do what is needed.” He regretted the words the moment they left his mouth. But they had been true. Tristan had offered a deal and Alexander jumped on it. Tristan would clear the family’s debt and void out his parents contract if he got Y/N in return.
“You’ve sentenced me to die.” Anger began building within her. “Tristian’s humans never last.”
“You were going to die anyway.” He responded quickly, earning a hard slap across his face.
“On my terms!” She yelled. “Not by the hands of a vampire that keeps his own psychotic sister locked up! When Elijah finds out-”
“Your ties with Elijah no longer matter. Yes he gave our parents his word that you would join them. Your infatuation with each other sealing that deal. But this decision can’t be easily taken back and you know that.”
While they both know going against either families was a risk. But with the De Martels, there was a deadline that was fast approaching them. Y/N ran her hand along her face and shook her head as she turned away from her brother. She couldn’t handle this.
“Elijah might know how to get-” Before Y/N could even finish her sentence, her brother knocked her over the head with the nearest object he could reach, leaving her unconscious.
"I'm sorry, Y/N." He said as he crouched down beside her. "But I refuse to become one of them."
_____
The De Martels knew what Y/N would ment to the Mikaelsons. She was to be their saving grace. A chance to mend the world with siblings as a Vampire and her Human brother. She was also Elijah’s soon to be wife. Tristan knew he was playing a dangerous game. And because he knew her worth, he kept her hidden, away from any prying eyes that could possibly leak where she was.
Much like the other humans in De Martel's care, she had been drugged, used and abused by those within Tristan's circle. As she laid in the dark damp cell, all she wanted was to die. Her colorful dreams of the future faded to black and white wishes of death and peace as time passed.
Anger had filled Elijah the moment he stopped by to see Y/N and Alexander told him what happened. While furious with her brother he knew he'd always keep his word to Y/N to not ever harm him. It took him over a month to find Y/N's whereabouts. The moment he had her location there was no stopping him.
Elijah stormed through the De Martel home. Anyone that dared to stand against him had their hearts ripped out in a split of a second. Bodies and hearts had been left in his wake as he made his way through. Each one brought him closer to finding Y/N.
When the door keeping her in was forced open, Y/N whimpered in fear at the sound, unable to see who walked in from her position. She hadn't even begun to heal from the last time that door opened. But even as the footsteps neared, she couldn't get herself to move, her body too weak to try. Panic filled her as the footsteps ceased right next to her.
"Shh, shh," Elijah began, trying to keep Y/N calm. "It's me."
As he did, it wasn't hard to see how beaten and bruised she had been. Bite marks covered her body in several places. He had never felt so much anger before at seeing her injuries.
"'Lijah." It had been a whisper, but he heard it loud and clear.
"I got you. I promise I'm going to take care of you, okay?" He had every intention of never letting her leave his sight. He even made the promise to himself that he'd kill the De Martels with his own two hands.
But before the comfort and relief of being free set in, Y/N was rudely awakened by the sound of the door opening and shutting by the unwelcome guest.

Your first week of heading this project with all its roadblocks and exhaustion, as it turned out, had merely been a taste of what was to come.
Your Wednesday at work began on a positive note, though.
Towards the middle of the day, your phone rang, making both you and Jungkook jump.
Cursing, you pursed your lips at Jungkook apologetically, and fished the device out. He nodded at you with a chuckle.
Looking at your phone screen, you realised this was a call you'd been waiting for.
“Hello?” you answered.
“Hello, ma’am. I’m calling to inform you that we’re done.”
Your eyebrows immediately hiked up your forehead. “Wow, really? That’s great news!”
“Yeah, the cleaners will be in tomorrow morning. You can move in by tomorrow evening.”
You actually grinned. “That’s such fantastic news! Thank you so much, Mister Lin. I’ll initiate your payment later, today.”
“Anytime, ma’am. Thank you.”
You disconnected the call with a happy sigh. Jungkook squinted at you. “That sounded like a fun conversation.”
You nodded, smiling. “Our team is moving into an apartment, tomorrow.”
“Wow! You’ve been in the hotel for what, ten days now? Must feel nice!” Jungkook’s eyes sparkled.
You nodded with a sigh, shutting your eyes in relief. “Oh, yes. We’d made reservations at the hotel for fifteen days. We had to move into the apartments within this week. This feels so amazing. I’ll finally be able to prepare my own food.”
Jungkook giggled at that, scrunching his nose up. “Where’s the apartment? Hope it isn't too far.”
“Oh, no, it’s a few blocks away from here. Which is why we had to book a hotel in the first place. We needed two four-bedroom apartments on the same floor, in this specific radius, in three days.” You paused to laugh when Jungkook’s jaw dropped with a gasp. “It was a very hard find. But our agent was sharp, he did a great job.” You clapped your hands together. “I cannot wait to check out of the damn hotel.”
Jungkook nodded in understanding. “Hotels are hard. It could be a seven star luxurious penthouse, but you’d still wanna run away from it after a while.”
He seemed to be speaking from his personal experience, but running away from a seven star luxurious penthouse? You couldn’t relate. You hated your hotel because the curtains weren’t dark enough and the mattress was stiff and you couldn’t afford getting any of them changed. You also hated having to order Chinese every single day, but you also knew you’d be emptying your bank account if you got anything else.
None of this would trouble someone living in a seven star’s penthouse. But you didn’t want to make Jungkook uncomfortable by stating any of this when he was just trying to be a bit compassionate and empathetic.
“Food doesn’t bother me that much, though,” Jungkook continued after a thoughtful pause. “We’re usually either on diets or order takeout. I personally hate the mattresses.”
“Oh yes,” you sighed deeply, the kink in your upper back in absolute agreement. “I’m not really a fan of sleeping anywhere other than my mattress back at home, but hotel beds are the worst of it.”
Jungkook chuckled, nodding. “I completely understand. You remember that story I told you about lugging my beddings over to our dorm when we first moved into one?”
You nodded with a laugh. “Oh, yes. The rest of the boys were getting new mattresses, and you were busy dragging your mattress from your parents’ house. It may sound hilarious, but it’s actually very relatable.”
Jungkook looked a bit bashful as he nodded. “You know, when we first started preparing for our first tour, I had a half a mind to take it with me.”
You barked out a loud laugh at that, the mental image of Jungkook dragging a seven by four piece of bedding around and stuffing it into trailers. He laughed, too.
“Yeah, it was funny and really stupid. Half the time we didn’t even get to sleep in the bed we had taken with us, but whenever we did, I was nodding off the second my head hit the pillow.” Jungkook’s eyes sparkled as he went down the memory lane. “That one was nothing in comparison to the tours we go on now, but it was our first ever experience so it was still pretty difficult adjusting, Tour schedule is a different level of hectic, you know? You don’t have time to eat, you don’t have time to sleep. Just rehearsals and fittings and sound checks. I would fall asleep in makeup chairs,” he confessed with a chuckle, shaking his head fondly, “and when noona would wake me up, I would recall how I wanted to bring my mattress here. Such naivete.”
You smiled, nodding along. You hadn’t yet gotten to the tour discussion yet, as it was planned out for the third month of your blueprint, so all of this was brand new to you. But, at this moment you didn’t want to bring up plans and blueprints. Jungkook was compassionately being candid with you. You were becoming friends, beyond your professional boundaries.
Sighing, you decided to impart something personal, too. “When I moved to the States and got into this company, I rented the apartment with an old friend who was already living there. And it wasn’t my first time living in a house away from my parents. I’d been a university student, lived in dorms then rented apartments, both solo and shared.” Jungkook looked at you pensively, nodding with a little furrow in his eyebrows. “But when I got to this apartment, got all this brilliant furniture set up, all new and fresh, I couldn’t sleep. I missed my home.” Jungkook’s eyes softened, lips pressing down into an understanding smile. “Not the dorm, not the studio I’d been renting—I missed my childhood bed.” You exhaled, recalling all your sleepless nights. “There's this connection you build with the place you call home. I’m sure you must have started to feel this way about your dorms as time went on.”
Jungkook softly smiled, nodding as he looked into space. “Very correct. Tour life made me realise this exact fact.”
You both sat in a few minutes’ quiet, basking in the nostalgic atmosphere you’d built around you.
Then Jungkook grinned at you. “Now you’ll get to experience real Seoul life.”
You laughed. “Oh, yes. And I honestly can’t wait for it. The local markets, the grocery stores, everything. Everything here is very unlike home.”
“I’m sure you’ll love it!” Jungkook exclaimed, wiggling his eyebrows smugly.
You went back to work soon after, with Jungkook tossing in questions about your move and suggestions about what all you should do in the city, every now and then.
It was a good, productive, joyous day. You were hardly even tired when you got back to your hotel to spend your last night on that stiff ass mattress.
Thursday had started off pretty much the same, except for you guys taking a slightly early departure to spare some extra time to set your new place up after your belongings were moved.
By late night, you were all settled in two, pleasant, well-furnished, well ventilated four-bedroom apartments, next to each other. Your housemates consisted of Sana and Simon. Needless to say, you weren’t a fan. But you needed a room to build the office in and you preferred it to be under the same roof as your bedroom because you tended to work odd hours when you couldn’t sleep. Simon and Sana volunteered to share the apartment with the office and you, so you didn't exactly have room for complaint.
From getting the apartment cleaned one last time to accept you all, to ensuring none of you had left anything significant behind in your hotel rooms—you didn’t trust the hotel staff enough to not misuse it if they found anything related to BTS in one of your rooms—you had been the one that took care of it all. It was kinda on you, because you didn’t trust anyone from your team to do the latter responsibly. So, quite naturally, you were dead on your feet by the time you got into your soft as a cloud beddings at nearly 3 o’clock in the morning. Sleep pulled you in the seconds you rugged your covers up.
You were very dead on your feet when you got to the BTS dorm, five hours after you’d gotten into bed. You hadn’t had a drop of alcohol in your system for more than a few weeks, now, but man did you have a hangover.
So it goes without saying that when you bumped into someone on your way to Jungkook’s studio, your eyes were half shut. You wouldn’t have thought much of it and might have slinked away with a mumbled apology, if not for the familiar voice than greeted you.
“Good morning. Looks like you had a rough night?”
You blinked, miles away from sleep within a second when your eyes met a familiar pair of brown ones. Taehyung was dressed in the routine BTS loungewear that consisted of a pastel t-shirt that was one too many sizes bigger on him and dark sweatpants that covered his feet. His hair was the usual black and curly, mostly pulled away from his forehead with a few tendrils dangling over his brows.
Your interaction with him had been meagre throughout this week, only consisting of respectful nods of greetings and waves of goodbyes. You’d meant to ask him how Simon was doing and how he felt about his ideas being taken now, after you’d had a talk with Simon about it. But you didn’t know what you would do if he said he was hating how things were and wanted you to do something about it. So you had kept your mouth shut and watched from the sidelines as you tried to gauge Taehyung’s inner feelings by his facial expressions.
He was an extremely closed off guy, never really letting his face show what he was truly feeling. But sometimes you would catch him looking into space as if he was zoning out of his conversation with Simon. Now, he could very well be thinking deeply about something Simon said—you really couldn’t be sure with the guy. But it had you worried, nevertheless.
God. Why did Simon have to pick out Taehyung’s name?
By the time you realised you’d been staring at him for too long, he had realized it too. “Anything wrong with my… hair?” he innocently questioned, threading his fingers through the front of it.
“No!” you yelped, making him flinch. “I mean, no, it’s not that. I, um. We were moving into our apartments last night and it got kinda late. My brain’s processing things a bit slow, today.”
Taehyung chuckled at that, nodding with his teeth on display. “It’s okay. Congratulations on the move. Hotels suck.”
You sighed. “Tell me about it.”
Awkward silence hung over the two of you as you looked at the floor, at your feet, at his feet, tried to discern if his pants were very dark gray or blue, cleared your throat, scratched your ear, met his shifty eyes again—
“How…how is working with Jungkook?”
His question caught you off-guard. You looked at him in surprise. “Uh…it’s, um. It’s good. Very comfortable, very productive. It’s great, actually.”
Taehyung nodded, pursing his lips as he looked down again. “Simon has been a better listener this week. Did you talk to him?”
A weight was lifted off your shoulders on hearing that. You grinned at him with all your teeth. “Really? That is really good to know. Comforting, even. I did talk to him, yes.”
Taehyung looked into your eyes as his lips spread into a slow, soft smile. “Thank you so much for doing this for me. I thought you would think I was stupid for demanding so much, but…” He shrugged his shoulder, one corner of his lips ticking farther up his cheek. “You made it work. I feel so much better now.”
You exhaled, willing your heart to not beat so fast. It was your job to ensure they were all comfortable, this was part of what you were getting paid for. But somehow, the way Taehyung seemed to have taken it so personally made you not wanna mention the fact in the moment.
Also, he didn’t know how this wouldn’t last. You’d been giving Simon tips to handle himself professionally around Taehyung, literally every single day. It kept the wheel running, but it was tiring both of you out, immensely. Simon was out of his element and you were getting slowly overwhelmed and under-rest due to the amount of responsibilities piling on for you. You were determined to talk this out with your boss, this Sunday, and find a way out before you broke.
Right now, though, you gave Taehyung a bashful smile. “I wanted you to be comfortable and feel good about working on this project, Tae. I am constantly working out plans to better it.”
Taehyung looked at you with so many emotions swimming in his eyes, that the intensity of it almost made you wanna look away. But you didn’t. Instead, you tried to decode what any of it could mean.
This time the silence between you two was not awkward in the least. It was charged—heavy with this unknown tautness between your mind and heart and this indecipherable look in Taehyung’s eyes.
“Tae?”
The trance was broken by Jin, startling both of you.
He walked into the halfway from behind Taehyung, peering around him with a frown. His eyes widened when he saw you. You immediately bowed, always extremely cautious about being respectful around BTS’ oldest member. “Good morning, Jin-ssi.”
He chuckled at your address, insisting that you didn’t have to bow every single time. “Just the respectful good morning is fine. Did you just get here?”
You nodded, subtly glancing at Taehyung whose eyes were slightly rounded and still stuck on you. Why was he acting like you two were caught by Jin? You’d just been greeting each other and catching up!
Right?
Right.
“Ah! There comes Riya!” Jin suddenly announced the arrival of his partner on your team, cutely waving at someone behind you.
Your teammate Riya walked into the hallway after you, having walked here on her own insistence. “Good morning, Jin-ssi. Taehyung-ssi. Boss.”
You smiled at her, nodding in acknowledgement of the respect she paid. “Where’s Simon?” you questioned.
“Just here!” the man himself responded, rushing in after Riya.
You met Taehyung’s eyes, and he nodded with a meaningful look and a small smile on his lips. Your heart felt light.
The unexpectedly happy and positive start you’d gotten in the morning lasted with you the whole day, making your time with Jungkook a lot fun, and fulfilling in terms of work, too.
When Sunday came in and you received your boss’ call, her first question was about how well you were settled in the apartments, followed by how you’d handled things with Simon. You had done a decent job on the former, but the latter was gradually turning out to be a pain in your ass. You told your boss as much.
“Drag it out for another week, and then design a change of gameplan. If he really isn’t doing a good enough job by himself, it’s better if he works with someone else. This whole charade will tire both of you out. And V would be facing issues, too, if Simon’s heart isn’t into it.” Your boss had looked at you solemnly through the computer screen.
“Simon’s heart’s a bit too much into it, boss, that’s the whole issue.” You had derisively chuckled at your joke, but her words had left you thinking into the late hours of the night.
Taehyung had definitely been facing issues, you’d heard it from the man himself. And the respite he thought he’d gotten this week was momentary, because neither you nor Simon could honestly keep up with it for too long. And it was very unfair to Taehyung. This book was supposed to showcase a part of all the boys. A biography was the culmination of one’s whole life—something very personal, precious and endearing. The process of its creation should have been a similar experience for the boys, too.
You really would have to assign someone else to Taehyung.
On Monday morning, you knocked at Simon’s door at seven.
“Just this week, and then you switch,” you told him.
“Really? Oh, my God, thank you so much!” Simon cried out.
“Please accommodate him the best you can.” You sighed. “I’m too tired to give you notes everyday. Will you be able to manage?”
“I’ll accommodate him the best I can, just as you said.”
You hadn’t taken his word for it, but it seemed like the knowledge of his misery ending soon had done Simon well. He did a fair job of maintaining his professional composure, and on Tuesday, when you went in to grab a cup of coffee from the kitchen, you saw the two of them laughing about something, too. Taehyung had politely greeted you, exchanging more than a nod for the first time in more than ten days—minus that one altercation in the hallway, of course—and then immediately went back into the discussion.
He seemed to be really into it.
It made you feel a lot better.
On Friday, you and Jungkook went for a walk by the pool in the late afternoon with a cup of ice cream in your hands. He brought up Taehyung, asking how the elder was doing.
“You told me he was having some trouble with his partner?” Jungook asked, biting into a huge glob of chocolate ice-cream like a maniac and braving the brainfreeze with a straight face.
You grimaced at the sight. Then exhaled, plopping a spoonful from your own ice cream into your mouth. “He’s doing a lot better, now. It might not last, though”
Jungkook, instead of quizzing your ominous statement, nodded in understanding. “Does it have something to do with what I told you about hyung’s personality?”
You sighed. “Pretty much. We might have to change his partner.”
Jungkook paused at that. “Is there a possibility that…” He trailed off, confused, doe eyes looking at you.
You couldn’t lie to him. You shrugged. “Everything’s on the plate.”
On Sunday evening, you decided to gather the team for the call with your boss. Sending them a quick message once you all got home, you hopped into the bathroom for a long, relaxing showe.
When you came back, you stepped into your office to the welcome sight of your team occupying bean bags and chairs and spread across the entire surface area of the place.
Collectively, you all brought up Taehyung’s partner with the Editor-in-Chief.
“Why don’t you do it, Y/N?” your boss questioned you after the rest of them had briefed her with their progress so far and detailed out their future plans with their assigned boys.
You sighed. “I have been doing just as great as the rest of them, boss. It wouldn’t be ideal for me to stop working with Jungkook after we’ve been making such great progress.”
Your boss took her glasses off, the highlight on her nose glistening as her movement caught light. She shook her and then sighed. “One of you is going to have to make a sacrifice.”
Simon, rightfully, flinched with a guilty face.
“So either you talk one of your team members into doing it, or you do it yourself. You’ve got one whole week to discuss it. Tell me what you decide, next Sunday.”
You kept tossing and turning in your bed. You’d either have to force one of your team members. Or you’d have to disappoint Jungkook. Your prospects really weren't looking good.
You would like to believe you and Jungkook had become friends in these three weeks. It is impossible to remain a stone-faced stranger with someone literally relaying the story of his entire life to you. And besides that, too, Jungkook was a very likeable guy. He was a curious soul with a myriad of interests. Taking notes on literally every topic would always branch out into an enthusiastic conversation between the two of you.
Sighing as you recalled how the two of you had shared your roller-skating experience with each other just today, you shut your eyes and decided to finally go to sleep.
Tumblr media
On Monday morning, your team members were gathered in your new office to begin with the scripting process of the biography. As you got down to comparing notes and checking off boxes, each one of you resolutely ignored the gigantic elephant in the room—that fact that one of you would not be working with the same person when this week was up.
Strangely, this forcible change of partners was weighing down on all of you not just because of how much more labour it would cost, but on an emotional level, too. Which was a very unfamiliar concept, at least to you. You never got attached to clients, knowing it would only cause hindrances when you had to criticize their work—which was why they were talking to you in the first place. You had been somewhat lucky too, in a way, because it wasn't easy for you to get attached to people.
But Jungkook turned out to be just a really easy person to get along with. You really had become friends.
This, you suddenly realised, would also mean that Jungkook would make friends with another partner just as easily.
“Guys, remember—it’s not just their story that we’re writing, it’s ours too!” you announced to your team, clapping your hands to raise their spirits as the six of them worked on their computers. “They’re the narrators, sure, but we are the writers. Use your words wherever you find fit, do not hesitate to trim, omit or add. This is what we were hired to do.”
At noon, you all ordered takeout and took a break.
“We’re all really on schedule, boss,” Riya, Jin’s partner, spoke up from her spot across the room from you. Her rounded eyes narrowed suddenly, and she winced. “Well… except Simon, but we kinda already expected that.”
Simon, seated on a bean bag to your immediate right, cleared his throat. “I’m sorry,” he mumbled.
“You’ve been really shitty at your job, Si,” Areum, Jimin’s partner, commented, looking at Simon through her round framed glasses, her face displaying disappointment.
“He really has,” you added. “But it cannot go on like this. You’ll have to be really professional with your partner, this time round, Simon. You’ve really done a lot of damage with Taehyung. Boss won’t just pull you off the project if something like this happens again, she’ll fire you.”
Simon visibly gulped, nodding with his wide eyes fixated on you.
“So, who’s gonna take his place?” Nathan, Yoongi’s partner, butted in, prompting Sana to stop stretching. “Have you decided yet?” he asked you.
You exhaled. “Why not ask dear Simon who he wants to work with? The last time he kept protesting about the assigned choice, and I didn't listen. Maybe he’d have done better if the selection of his partner was voluntarily done by him.”
All eyes turned to Simon. He cleared his throat, looking beyond nervous. “Please don’t put me in this spot. One of you will have to let go of a month’s worth of hard work for me, as it is.”
You looked around the room. “Any one of you willing to switch?”
Five pairs of eyes turned to look at you incredulously. “No one’s gonna willingly give their research up for you, Simon,” Charlotte, the only redhead on your team and Hoseok’s partner, spoke with a roll of her eyes. “None of us.”
“Simon,” You sighed. “Choose.”
And then Simon squeezed his eyes shut and fisted both his hands to whisper, “Jungkook…maybe?”
Of fucking course.
Tumblr media
Later that night, you had calmed yourself down enough to tell yourself that everything was gonna be okay. You could be a darn hardass professional when you needed to be. In fact, being humble and empathetic was usually what posed a challenge to you. You would very smoothly transition into working with Taehyung, you were sure of it.
You belatedly thought about how much change these past three weeks had already brought about in your nature. You were starting to show a lot more compassion than you’d thought yourself capable of. That kind of came in this job’s description, because biographies made people vulnerable, and vulnerable interviews required compassion.
You had to unlearn some of the things you’d picked up over the span of your adult life to save yourself from hurt, and also the guilt that came with hurting others. Jungkook also helped, in a way. His openness and just the overall cheerful vibe that his nature eluded made you want to be more of a friend to him than a writing guide or an interviewer.
You wondered how Taehyung would be.
There was something undeniably intense and mysterious about him. Now, you weren’t naive enough to want to “unravel” the guy’s mysteries, but you sure were irked and curious. Maybe he was one of those kinds of artists that literally lived in their art.
Back when you didn’t work in this company with this hectic schedule and had enough spare time on your hands to write, you used to pride yourself to be one of these kinds of artists, too. You lived in your stories, kept building characters up wherever you went, whatever you did. You wondered if it was something similar with Taehyung for music.
You would find out, eventually. There was no point pondering it so much.
Sighing, you turned off your side lamp and decided to retire for the night.
Tumblr media
Your writing week was gliding past smoothly. It was just Wednesday, and you all, ahead of the schedule, were at the verge of finishing up your writing parts.
“Are we super efficient or did we sign up for a longer duration of time than needed for this whole project?” Sana questioned, typing away on her laptop.
You snorted. “Or maybe, we didn’t design the blueprint with as much uniformity as we’re required to.”
“You don’t always have to critique everything, boss,” Charlotte, Hoseok’s partner chimed in, flipping her long mane of auburn hair off her shoulder as she shot you a look.
You glared right back at her. “Uh, actually, I do. That’s kind of my job here.”
You’d been harsher than was needed, making the whole room go quiet. Only the clicking of keyboards echoed around you all for a while.
“Where’s Simon?” Nathan, Yoongi’s partner, asked after some time.
You sighed. “In his room, finishing up his writing work there. He doesn’t feel comfortable sitting between all of us because, and I quote, y’all give off really judgy vibes that fuck with my concentration.”
“That might actually be true,” Areum, Jimin’s partner, mumbled in Korean under her breath.
“Did you mail Manager Woo about the switch yet, boss?” Nathan asked you as you got up to get a refill of your coffee.
You exhaled. “Nope, I'm stalling,” you confidently confessed, leaving the office to make a trip to the kitchen. On your way back, you knocked at Simon’s door before peeking in. “You doing okay?” you asked him flatly.
Simon gave you a nod, not moving his gaze from the laptop screen. You rolled your eyes and came back to the office.
“Should one of us do it? If it won’t look too unprofessional?” Sana asked.
You wrinkled your nose. “It would look grossly unprofessional, Sana.” You pursed your lips as you sat behind your laptop again. “Fine, I’ll do it right now.”
You took a sip from your coffee, and opened your email. This was final, now — no coming back.
You were officially gonna start working with Kim Taehyung.

Marry me - BENEDICT BRIDGERTON
Tumblr media
London 1817
Y/N incarnated the green eyes her so loved, her knew that this unthinkable adventure had come to an end once he found Benedict in the corridor looking completely distressed. The second Bridgerton was not the best when the subject was to disguise his feelings, mainly because his green orbs were the window to his soul.
— We cannot marry .- the words jumped through the lips of the brunette so the lesser put his hand on his shoulder.
— I know Mr. Bridgerton.- tears have accumulated in the eyes of the Y/H/C when she took a step back, moving away from what she believed briefly to be her future husband -. Goodbye Benedict.
He still heard Kate's call when he passed through her with tears jumping her face and a broken heart to be caring.  If you ask how it can be so silly to believe your romance would be right, after all he was someone with a name and that she had to offer you beyond all the love she felt for him?
[...]
Kate crossed the hall with furious steps to find her husband, Benedict and Colin in a heated discussion at the Viscount office.  As soon as she closed the door, with more force than necessary, the brothers turned instantly clapping together, the expression on her face should scare even the devil and those who dare to cross her path.
— Anthony Bridgerton What the hell did you do? .- Viscountess asked without any curination.
— AND what makes her think I did something? .- Anthony asked cautiously, without taking his eyes once off his lovely wife, this act seemed more defensive than caring and zeal.
— let's do a chronological analysis of the facts, first I see the lovely Miss Y/L/N crossing the residence to the pros, then I hear Benedict demanding what is his right.- the impeccable posture of the woman seems to intimidate Anthony leaving him tiny, what was a great irony when we thought about the difference in height -. Do you think I'm a stupid who doesn't know her own husband?
Colin loose a low broom in front of the acid words of his brother-in-law.
— Kate, you better than no one knows how cruel high society is to each other, imagine what they would do to Benedict and Y/N when they discovered this marriage? They would massacre them.  I am trying to prevent the two from getting hurt from this story .- the eldest of the brothers seemed tired of repeating that conversation.
— you are not my owner, you do not have the right to interfere in our lives .- Benedict finally speaks after Anthony's wife's sudden appearance.
— I have yes, I have the full right to intervene when you make stupendous choices .- viscount is the answer.
— Anthony do you realize how ridiculous is being by preventing your brother from going to attras of his happiness? .- Kate's severe look made the brothers remember Violet Bridgerton, the viscount opens his mouth to refute but is cut off by his wife's speech -. Benedict is more than responsible for making his own choices, Y/N may not have come from a family with a great name or a golden dowry, but what I say to him is that they love each other's heart, this is printed on their faces.  You can't treat your brothers as drinkers, they need to learn to survive in reality, pain is part of growth.  They can rather listen to many of those people without what to do, but they will go through it together and that is what counts in the end.
Kate gets up and starts to get out of the office, before crossing the door she looks over her shoulder and adds.
— it is better for you to do what your brother is asking for or will spend the next season sleeping next to the horses.
As soon as the pleasant viscount was gone, the brothers became incarnate atonites.
— is she always so energetic? .- Colin questions.
— are you still sure you want to get married? .- Anthony asks after nodding in positive for Colin.
[...]
It was already midnight when Benedict arrived at the Y/L/N residence, he had done everything possible not to hurt the Y/H/C, but at that moment when she crossed the corridor to find him he thought the best thing to do would be to free the young from future suffering.  A real Cretan.
His chest weighed as lead when he knocked on the door, it would be a liar if he did not say he was eager to review what, if he wanted to, would be his wife and after some time the mother of his children, only the thought of building a family with her brought a little peace to her restless chest.
As soon as the door opened, he prepared himself for the apologies he had trained during the way, but it was not necessary since the door attented was not Y/N but his younger sister.
— What does Bridgerton do here? .- the sour tone amazed Benedict, since the little girl always showed himself in favor of the sister's novel.
— I came to concern my mistake, please tell me if Y/N is here .- despair in his voice was not theatrical.
The young man looked over the shoulder to then open space, but before Benedict could enter the house he was held by a strong draw.
— if you hurt her again Mr. Bridgerton, I will cause him to suffer until his fourth generation.- given the warning the little girl let him enter the residence, sweating to some corner.
In a few moments he found his loved one sitting in a chair, a glass of untouched milk was in front of him, it seemed alien to other presences.
— Y/N? .- the low voice of the brunette seems to have awakened the lesser of its devanees.
— Mr. Bridgerton?  What do you do here? .- Heaven, he really deserved to be treated in that way, the voice of the Y/H/C was covered with anger.
— Vim concerned things .- before he could continue he was left alone in the kitchen.
Without wasting time the second Bridgerton ran behind the Y/H/C, gently grabbing his forearm, a furious slap hitting his shoulder soon after.
— What is your problem?  Why not leave me at once?  Do I see suffering behind you some kind of happiness? .- AND once again that night Benedict was hated to be the cause of the tears that now scroll through the pale face of his beloved.
— you know Y/N, you know that you would never move a finger if that cost your happiness, But there were things that needed to be resolved before I could make you fully happy.- yet another slap was smitten against the brunette who was forced to hold the two arms of the Y/H/C, despite the fact that she deserved all the fury she had untied about him.
— AND for this you had to hurt my heart? .- she spit the words on her face -. What was so important to the point that you kick me that way out of your life?
— our future Y/N, couldn't marry you if you weren't able to keep our livelihoods... I wouldn't be able to make our dream become a nightmare in a flash of eyes.- so he realized it was safe he let his arms loose, his hands now holding his face firmly, his foreheads glued -. I was ensuring that we would have a house and money to thrive in some way, that was only possible after much discussion.
— his... his bastard .- the redhead seemed to have extinguished all his energy earlier.
— is this the best you can do miss? .- the largest hunted.
Not waving to stay away Benedict closed the distance between his lips, it was a calm kiss and full of nostalgia and apology, he knew she would understand, Y/N always seemed to read her feelings with a gigantic ease, the rough hands sliding through the curved body holding the waist in a squeeze, the young man's arms were wrapped around his neck pulling him down due to the stark difference in height.
They separated themselves only when the need for air was made present, the spiting breasts and the stained faces, both printing smiles of satisfaction.
— Marry me.- Benedict's thought put in words, words that did not come out of his lips.
The arms of the greatest wound up in the waist of the young red woman standing up from the ground as he turned her into the air, being contemplated with her own melodious laughter.
— of course, yes .- he answered after placing his bride, now, on the ground. I am yours for any and all ends.

Now what? - The future of this blog
Currently I have five Alternate Universes float around in my head and maybe you’ll like them to come to life here? I plan fanart, comics and maybe some graphic novel style with art and written text. Please share your thoughts and opinions. <3 I. How to raise your sparkling - TFA AU
After Starscream got captured by the Elite Guard, they start to experiment with his CNA to create Autobots with flight ability. However, Starscream manages to free himself and out of spite he snatches the two protoforms right out of their incubator. But he doesn’t feel pleased with himself for long. On the run and with now two demanding sparklings craving his attention, killing Megatron and ruling the universe isn’t such an easy goal anymore...
II. Metroplex Asylum - IDW1/Cyberverse AU set after TAAO
Based on the scrapped idea for Starscream to return with amnesia, after his Quintesson form got destroyed. I would let this take place in the Cyberverse universe, but IDW1 provides so much better world building and consequences, so it’s set there. Windblade fights Vigilem alone in her own head until Starscream logs in to help. During the procedure, Vigilem manages to almost totally override Starscream’s brain-module which forces Airachnid to call a halt before it’s too late. She fries the unwelcome foreign pattern inside Starscream’s head, causing irreparable damage. When Starscream wakes up again - something they didn’t even hope for - he has only a fleeting grasp of some events (mostly early war), tends to terrible mood swings and is obsessed with Windblade, who feels responsible for him, but can’t handle his unfiltered feelings towards her. In the end they have no other choice, but to put the Chosen One, the leader of Cybertron, into an institution full with other bots with mental health issues. While Starscream bends over backwards to make sense of his surroundings and is generally at peace with himself, the past, present and future won’t stop haunting him.
III. Endless Utopia - IDW2 AU
I already started this comic until I put it on hiatus last year. However, I have nine pages in the making and plan to update this soon and hopefully at a faster pace. This AU is based on the idea of a “Nicescream”. Even though his life is more than complicated, he found his own little happiness. But pre-war Cybertron won’t leave him alone.
IV. Moon City - No specific universe with a pinch of Armada
Decades after the war between Autobots and Decepticons ended, earth is a mostly unhabitable place thanks to climate change and World War III. The only flicker of hope for the average human survivor is Moon City, a base built on the moon with artificial atmosphere and Cybertronian technology. While it provides a life in luxury and first of all health, not everyone can enter and the cost of living is sky high. Alexis Thi Dang got the grades to be accepted at the Moon City Academy, but scrapping the money together to keep studying is a daily struggle. Desperately searching on the network for ways to get benefits, she stumbles over the possible solution: In this city of the future, humans who are partnered to a Cybertronian are extremely privileged. Especially the winners of the war, the Autobots, are highly demanded partners. The Council of Humanity even runs a secret project to create a techno-organic mix-race which is supposed to be the answer to the new living conditions in space and possible colonies in foreign atmospheres. Anybody contributing to this goal has their place in Moon City ensured. Alexis however, is among the population just an average Jane, so she cannot even dream of finding a Cybertronian who wants to hook up with a human. Therefore she surfs the dark net and finds a fishy organization willing to provide her a partner... Starscream is on the run since the war ended and hides in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter where he scratches together all the energon he can find. One day he gets roused by humans searching for the same... and Cybertronian spare parts. Barely able to flee, he looks for a safe haven and meets Swindle who is into some not so legal businesses and makes Starscream some not so confidence-inspiring promises to smuggle him into Moon City, the only place of Cybertronian standards he can reach for now. Desperate, Starscream agrees... and gets paired up with Alexis. The beginning of a “wonderful” partnership.
V. Starscream the Movie - No specific universe
I once wanted to create a canon divergent Bumble Bee the Movie fic. This was born out of the idea that both Bee and Starscream are stranded on earth, but I rewrote the whole thing into basically “What could a movie about Starscream look like?” So, we got everything. His creation, his place among the Decepticons, his relationship with Megatron and of course his flock, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Slipstream... a benevolent doctor called Knock Out and the joys of being a giant robot thrashing planets with primitive species and Autobots trying to protect them.  Starscream’s winning streak goes to his head though and results in his fall from grace. He is basically degraded to hunt down insignificant Autobot bases and his first target is Bee on earth. This is probably my most ambitious project and that’s why I can’t reveal too much.
(VI. A forgotten grave - IDW1)
Short comic about Megatron who wants to meet Starscream one last time before his execution. Based on this:
Q: How did the LL crew - specifically Megatron - react to the deaths of Optimus, Soundwave, and Starscream?
A: Let's specifically focus on Megatron - he would've been conflicted about all three. Would've been most cut up over Starscream's death, because there was a lot of unfinished business between him and Starscream, and the reformed pacifist Megatron never got to meet Starscream. That probably eats away at him. Closely followed by Optimus. Would've been incredibly interested in what Soundwave had done and would've been proud of him. Imagine he would have been bitterly affected by all three deaths in slightly different ways.
While Megatron shows NEVER any regret about how he treated Starscream in the comics, I’ll just take this word of god here and do something with it.
---
Well then. Any thoughts? ;D
