[He's] over there on the other side, and it's like the coolest thing ever... you know, the buildup was crazy 'cuz I knew if the opportunity presented itself—if the game went the way I hoped it would, I would get an opportunity to fight him.

I remembered in warmups tryna skate by the redline initially just kind-of gettin' a feel for it—to see if I have to say something or whatever... He's got no bucket on, his big, bald head is glarin' around, he skates by the redline with the biggest smile on his face, and just gives me the biggest wink...

At that moment I knew Okay, he remembers. It's gonna happen at some point.

We were up 1, I think it was 2-1 going into intermission or whatever—Oh, no, I think it was 1-1 and we had just scored so the position I'm like Yeah, I don't know if I can fight him now because we have the momentum and we're winning the game. I don't want to lose a fight, then we lose a game and now I'm, like, never getting a chance again.

You kind-of gotta play the game within the game like [...] there's an opportunity to fight, and there's an opportunities where you shouldn't fight. Things weren't looking good, then they score and now we need a spark. I'm like Fucking perfect.

I just skate by their bench and I'm like It's time, big boy! He jumps out, we line up, and he goes We squarin' up or we goin' right away?

I'm like I'm not fuckin' squarin' up with you right now! We're goin' right away!

Drop em, we go right away, grab each other. I know he's a lefty so he's gonna let go—let's go of my right arm before he throws one. I threw one. Big boy went down, he jumped back up pretty quick. I don't know, I tell people all the time, I'm like I would've been in the league fuckin' 2 years earlier if there was good footage of this fuckin' fight!

For some reason—For some reason, the cameras cut out. I don't know if [he] had his cousins working the cameras or something that night, or if they're in the video room or what happened.

That was my first NHL game.

It's funny 'cuz Chucky was there—Chucky's there and he knows, he saw, he always laugh when I say that I would've been in the league earlier 'cuz he knows how things like that go. You get a little bit of energy and buzz around ya, and then kind-of momentum takes you a little bit further but unfortunate[ly], I missed that opportunity but I don't regret a thing.

LONG POST IM SO SORRY I HAD A LOT OF FEELINGS

(Im so sorry this got so long, but i got emotional while writing it so please bear with me, read this like its the morning paper while u eat breakfast or something i have alot to say)

Before I go into the things I didn't like I do want to focus on some positives.

-Like I said in an earlier post, Geoff's acting…he absolutely killed it, and maybe this is because I'm a little bit Geoff/Grif biased but he was giving so much emotion and everyone else felt a little bit flat. Also only he could have delivered the "Come with me" line with so much Homoeroticism -I Had a pretty fun time watching the fight in the second half, The references to Monty we're sweet and getting to see Tex and Carolina fight together was pretty epic! -A good handful of jokes got me good. "23rd in my class" Shelia translating Caboose's Spanish to Lopez

Ok……. the next bit of this will get a little bit negative, but I do want to say this is coming from a place of deep love and care for this series. I have run this blog for like 6/7 years now and I've been a fan of this show for double that. My biggest fear is that fans get the same treatment we did when no one liked RVBZero. I have criticisms. This is a 21 year old series that so many people have had a part in and so many have loved. I was not looking for perfection, I wasn't even looking for something good. I was looking for an ending to the stories of characters people have held in their hearts for 21 years. Unfortunately, what I feel we were left with was a hastily thrown together hour of basically nothing.

-Why weren't they friends…..Why weren't they friends…No one cared for the others. I understand that we have semi warped perceptions of the characters from fanon works and things of that nature. But even in canon, the reds and blue care about each other. On their own team and the other team. Simmons, Grif, Tucker, and Caboose spent MONTHS together in chorus and same for Donut/Sarge/Wash. I've recently rewatched blood gulch and Caboose and Sarge have a great dynamic! Tucker and Grif canonically get along pretty well. Simmons was ON BLUE TEAM for like a hot minute there. THEY KNOW EACH OTHER AND CARE ABOUT EACH OTHER. This was zero percent present in this film. No one had any motivation to look for Tucker. No one cared that it was Tuckers body inside the suit. THE REDS LEFT CABOOSE FOR DEAD!!!!!! THEY JUST LEFT HIM!!!!

-Tucker, I'm so sorry baby girl, this was supposed to be your arc, your moment. You were hardly in it. No build up to how he became the Meta. The scene where he breaks out of it to not kill caboose was the best part of the arc. And he just wakes up and remembers it "like someone elses Nightmare??" ok sure

-Wash………………WHAT THE FUCK???? WHAT THE FUCK???????????????? WHAT THE FUCK??????? WHAT THE FUCK???? TO RUIN THIS MANS ENTIRE CHARACTER ARC BY MAKING HIM COMPLETELY OBSOLETE. PUTTING HIM IN SOME RANDOM HOSPITAL FOR AN UNKNOWN INJURY THAT HAPPENS OFF SCREEN AND ISN'T EXPLAINED. HAVE HIM HALUCINATING DOC FOR SOME FUCKING REASON. HAVE HIM SHOW UP TO THE FINAL BATTLE AND DO ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING BUT JUMP OFF A FUCKING CLIFF AND NOT SAY A WORD TO ANY OF THE RED AND BLUES I AM LIERALLY ABOUT TO FUCKING CRY TYPING THIS I AM LITERALLY SO FUCKING PISSED OFF. AGENT WASHINGTON, THE CHARACTER THAT WAS SO HAPPY IN THE SEASON RIGHT BEFORE CHORUS JUST TO BE ON BLUE TEAM AND HAVE A FUCKING FAMILY AGAIN. JUST SIDELINE HIM FOR NO FUCKING REASON AND THEN NOT LET HIM SPEAK TO ANY OF HIS FRIENDS EXCEPT CAROLINA AND DEAD DOC. Honestly for everything I disliked I thought Grimmons was handled ok… at this point im like….. they couldn't even throw us a bone. company was dying, final season airing, and they couldn't even throw us a solid Grimmons queerbait joke. so i just saw hamilton in boston and thought i’d give a review!

first off, i really enjoyed it!!! the cast was AMAZING (i wanna say better than the original but i feel i’ll make someone mad, so i’ll keep that to myself). there was tons of potential and it was met!!! beyond expectations!!! i cant just lump everyone together so i wanna give reviews on each character 

before i start that i just wanna say THE CAST WAS SO ATTRACTIVE? LIKE I USUALLY DONT NOTICE STUFF LIKE THAT BUT EVEN MY GRANDMA WAS LIKE “i feel like this cast was so much better looking than the original, especially aaron burr” AND. I HAVE TO AGREE WITH HER. but moving on…

Hamilton: Pierre Jean Gonzalez

yes. i loved him. at first i wasn’t a HUGE fan bc he was different compared to lin, BUT THEN IT GOT PROMISING. he was HANDSOME AS HELL and he had a strong voice. it was very husky which i wasn’t a huge fan of, but then again, it got promising as the show went on. 

Eliza: Nikisha Williams

she was beautiful, she had a very easy voice to listen to… but i WILL say that it didn’t carry the emotion and control i wish it did. her voice was relatively… flat (i’m sorry i feel so bad) and her voice was almost too strong on some occasions. but i really liked her. i do wish that toward the end she could’ve been more heart-shattering, but maybe i’m just used to phillipa being an ICON in act two. 

Burr: Jared Dixon

OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD. first, HANDSOME. LIKE REALLY HANDSOME. AND TALL?! but honestly, i fucking loved this guy. his voice was relatively more higher compared to leslie, but it wasn’t annoying like i’d thought it would be. he was AMAZING at vocal control, but he didn’t have to strongest voice (not a negative thing tbh). he had a very soft voice and loud one when needed and i loved it. especially in “the room where it happens”. he wasn’t as energetic as leslie but near the end (apparently, i didn’t notice) he and the ensemble did choreo related to magic mike? but anyway I LOVED HIM.

Angelica: Ta’rea Campbell

i love this girl. just as a person. but as angelica… i wasn’t completely thrown away or swept off my feet. she has a nice strong voice and is a great actor, but it wasn’t tremendous (GOD I FEEL LIKE A BITCH)

Washington: Marcus Choi

i. was. fucking. blown. away. this guy was amazing. and again, HANDSOME AS HELL. GOD I WAS MELTING IN MY SEAT. he was just stunning. and his skills did not disappoint. no matter what, whether singing solo or in a group, you can hear this man. his voice just stands out. his acting was relatively great, but i wasn’t focusing on that tbh. but i truly loved him as washington. my grandma thought it was hilarious that they casted an asian man as washington. (i mean the majority, if not ALL of the cast were pocs)

Lafayette/Jefferson: Jared Howelton

don’t get me fucking started. my favorite fucking character regardless of who plays it, but this guy made it all the better. i needed to take a breather at intermission bc of how excited i was getting to see him as jefferson. he was just so ICONIC as lafayette. he was definitely meant to be the comedic relief, and it was amazing to compare his to daveed’s portrayal. he was more funny, and like even the way he walked (as jefferson he had this “i’m great and everyone loves me and i’m swagger” walk going on. i fucking adored it.) and talked was on point and HILARIOUS. he had a very deep and tantalizing voice (is that the right word?) and he was also very handsome. do i prefer his over the original? maaaybe. they were both iconic in their own ways. so i’m not sure. but like I LOVE THIS GUY. 

Mulligan/Madison: Desmond Sean Ellington

didn’t really stand out. i honestly don’t think he was as iconic as the original portrayal. but he was relatively great.

Laurens/Philip: Elijah Malcomb 

he was SO DIFFERENT compared to anthony’s portrayal. it’s so hard to put it into words. more energy, but less homoeroticism (unfortunately). his voice was naturally really high so when he came in as philip i was like “??? is there a child onstage?” but i think he added to the effect on purpose. his death was HEARTBREAKING. i loved him tho.

Peggy/Maria: Jen Sese 

now this is gonna sound bitchy, but i was not impressed. maybe jasmine was just so iconic that she outshines everyone, but i’m not sure. it’s not like i didn’t like her, she’s just fine, but her portrayal was just kinda… boring. she just lacked something (zazz? idk man). her portrayal as maria lacked the confidence and sexual tension. her vocals were okay, same with the acting. (please don’t take this personally 😭) 

King George: Neil Haskell

i loved him. like a lot. compared to jon, his king was more… energetic and… god it’s hard to find words. but jon’s king was very poised and on point and stiff, but neil’s king wasn’t. (i’m not hating on either, i loved both portrayal sm) but this king was also a lot funnier and the way he moved and carried himself was great. but he sounded congested??? the entire show??? like idk he just sounded funky but it made it funnier. his accent was kinda horrible but it was great. and the way he said “jOHN aDAMS” was great. amazing king 

Charles Lee: Tristan Hill

i wasn’t gonna include this character but i just wanted to say, he was probably the most attractive person in the cast. and his voice matched. sorry for being a bastard, i’ll go now.

I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE THE CHOREO IN THIS. obvi it wasn’t the exact same IT WAS EVEN BETTer. like everyone was just perfect and on point. and everyone was hot as hell. and muscly. really amazing honestly.

just wanted to say i loved this show a lot. the stage looked really good and they did a lot more with lights and i love it. very pleasing to watch. also, THERE WERE ASL INTERPRETERS THERE. IT WAS SO AMAZING. I WAS SO HAPPY THEY DID THAT (i don’t need an interpreter in any way, but i just loved them being there) it was very fun to see how they interpreted the show. and there were only FOUR OF THEM? and they did great??? very often during the show i would compare there acting to the actors on stage. it was great

GOD OKAY i have a lot to say about jaws FIRSTLY quint’s little sob story? about how his entire crew got eaten by sharks? yeah, i don’t know how the fuck he thinks water works but if you’re in cold water with no shelter or food for a WEEK sharks are the fucking LEAST of your worries. hypothermia and starvation and exhaustion were the biggest killers in that very real tragedy. eight hundred people died and yes, sharks did eat around 150 of them but there is NO WAY sharks would eat 800 people in a week, even if it was an easy meal, and to claim that they did is a misrepresentation of what being in cold water for a week would do to a person. you are not that strong!!! you would get cold and die!!!

SECONDLY quint is such a dramatic pissbaby he’s like ‘oh give me ten thousand dollars and i’ll kill that shark in a day and you can reopen the beaches’ NO HE FUCKING CANT he fucks around on a boat for three days and DIES because he’s a hubristic cunt!!! ‘i dont want help in that boat’ YOU NEED IT!!! third, as with all shark films, the shark is some sort of demon. obviously it’s very exaggerated but literally sharks don’t do that. one barrel would’ve been able to keep a great white at the surface, and the fact they needed three goes to show that it Literally Was Not A Shark. sharks aren’t fucking vengeful!!!! they aren’t that smart!!!! they’re smart enough to k*ll themselves AND THATS IT the real villain of that film is capitalism

i hope this came from someone who’s seen it bc this will include spoilers….dont know if theres much to spoil though like its a revenge movie, we all know who’s gonna die.  okay heres my in-depth personal criticism of Mandy:

- main complaint is how ridiculously easy it was to kill the black skulls…for a movie that hypes them up the whole way, nd claims its plot centres around vengeance, it was awfully drawn out only for the stream of kills before the end to be rather hasty nd anticlimactic 

- also really wanted to see/hear more of the black skulls, bc their really cool costume design is literally the only reason i was watching ksdbhfjd. nd their introductory scene had me hyped w their amazingly creepy voices nd the blood-drinking nd the homoeroticism! but then we dont see them again until they like, die, nd they dont even get any more speaking parts :-( i appreciated the little backstory his weapon-keeper friend offered but…i was hoping to See more

- really the only scenes i enjoyed in this whole movie was the black skulls introduction nd the cult leader guy talking to the mirror. the rest of it was really just so boring nd the scenes were Very drawn out, you could tell it was trying so hard to be edgy nd artsy but it came across just…edgy, uninterestingly so. like the scene where she talks abt the starlings? not very believable (if her dad really hated them he’d have killed them himself, was just too ridiculous for me) and there for the shock value. unnecessary!

- minor complaints more so but: the decision to put like..chapter title cards? at certain parts felt very cheesy to me but oh well. nd the animated bits….typically dont like animated bits in real-life movies, nd this did nothing to sway me as they used a very boring borderline-realism comic book art style. if it had been a little more, idk surrealist? for a movie that wants so badly to be surreal… i might have praised it. really i just wanted to be shocked more, nd it really failed to do that for me…..like, maybe the death of his girlfriend makes him go a little bonkers nd he starts hallucinating. maybe he sees her charred body on the couch beside him. i like gruesome, i like (tasteful) shock! but their attempts at shock were just..drab to me. its sad bc i really wanted to like it. but they failed the black skulls, their most compelling characters, and that i cannot forgive

Nemo’s Top Ten KPOP Choreos! 

these are honestly mostly my opinions which nemo shares 90% of the time and its my bday so i decided that was fine. also for my bday everyone should watch these videos bc they r good and interesting 

Fallin’ Flower: This is flawless, the way it tells the story with the movement. CHEF’S KISS. i literally did an in-depth dissection of this dance so go look at that maybe or just watch it god plz 

Crown: this is a DEBUT and it’s so fast, and the partnering is so intricate– a kind of dance u need all five members for which i absolutely ADORE!! The part where they make an arrow? Amazing. And the song itself is about disability which Nemo really really jives with. 

See Sea: the part at 0:54-1:08 like made me gay and is the reason why nemo is pansexual actually. Like u ever wanna feel fun flirty sexy and cool like runnin around with ur pals on the beach and stuff. exactly

Pretty U: LITERALLY WHAT STARTED IT ALL FOR ME i cannot express enough how much this number changed me. Like its the theatricality of it. Its the dcom over the top energy of 13 boys going batshit crazy over the terror of telling a girl she’s pretty. The innocence of that confession. And to talk about the dance itself like the genius of the couch and how its incorporated. I literally love every moment of this dance it makes me feel better stronger invincible and also very beautiful.

honestly nemo probably wouldn’t choose this he’d choose SNAP SHOOT so go look at that its so fun. There’s a lot of setting/formation type stuff in this one and it’s like the spiritual successor of Pretty U. Apparently Holly says the shifts in weight is way harder than it looks too so like shout out that. 

Everybody: u can not physically remain unhyped this song is legit wack its Camp, capital C. this dance has everything. Pretending to be a wind up doll. Lifting ur best friend in the air. Creating a like… helicopter out of ur bodies. Nonstop movement and so much belting, jumping, and shaking your ass. I have so much fun watching this. 

Mic Drop: this is a masterpiece as well. Jhope doing the ‘turnstyle’ move at the beginning big chef’s kiss for me. Then everyone freestyles and u can see each member’s personality before it starts in earnest and then from there it is just flawless from start 2 finish esp the dance break version. This song puts dynamite in my brain make no mistake

Good Evening: unlike everybody this is so loose and all about the pause between the big moments and the build up to the improvisational section at the end like this is straight up abstract art in dance bc the lyrics r all about feeling trapped and then finding freedom. Also that part at 1:44 sustains me i love homoeroticism in my dance 

Save me: its about the FOOTWORK YALL. its like called lightfeet or something and its super cool and extremely difficult they r like rabbits hopping around!!!! There are def flashier bts choreos but this one speaks to their agility, balance, and technique i think 

Bboom Bboom: these girls said LEVELS. They said LINES! They said FUN! U ever see a dance that u automatically wanna get up and learn? Yeah this is one of those. All of the formations are super interesting and the choreo for the chorus is like easy enough to adapt for beginners but still challenging enough to entertain more skilled dancers. Im speaking from experiences bc of my sister who is a trained dancer and loves this song. 

Baby dont stop: this song and dance would kill a victorian child. Its the PARTNERING for nemo and also the homoeroticism in this one as well. And for me. But no its really so smooth and tight and sexy this is the slave 4 u of kpop but with men

what did we learn?

well, first i will start with the acknowledgement that this story had way more homoeroticism than originally intended. Yes the kiss was going to happen at the end, that was set in stone. But all the other subtle cues such as Jimmi having a hard rod poke through his ass or some of the more suggestive poses they did here and there were an entirely subconcious thing. And he thing is that i noticed by now that both mama bird and this were slightly charged in certain scenes with some key fetishes of mine. The conclusion i can find is that i tend to use my comics as an outlet for ideas or feelings that i cant really share in my day to day life. i am thankful that i have the proper amount of restraint to not let the fetishistic aspects of the story to completly consume the narrative as could very well happen.

i threw a comparision with mama bird in the last paragraph, lets follow that train of thought. This was a way shorter story than mama bird, taking “only” three months to tell, as opposed to mama’s five months and change. Another difference is that this was a single continuous story whereas the other comic had almost as many timeskips as it had panels, i mean, damn. In many regards this is a much ore minimalistic story, just one sterile location, two characters, al happening in the course of an hour at most. This was by design. I intend to tell stories much larger than mama bird some day but first i have to sretch my muscles, i have to be able to just do “short” stories like this and even though it took me about 20 pages to tell, it has to feel effort wise like a quick simple throwaway job. When in the past 20 pages would have felt like a colossal project to me. This was put to the test especially with the video. i had to do the equivalent of 10 strips in just under a week, when i usually dont fo more than 4 per week. it was stressful but i managed to pull it off and it allowed me to get a little more practisce and a better handle on the format that i want to use if i decide to do more videos in the future. So in that regard i consider this thing a success.

much if not all i wanted to say about these guys i already said it in the author’s notes throughout the arc. so i just have one more thing to say.
