Love of my Life
Heyyy guyss!! This is the new chapter. You can find this story on my wattpad too by the same name. The link is also available on my masterpost. Enjoyyy.
Date Night ( part- 1)
The room had a different aura. It was difficult to describe. It was surreal, radiant. It appeared to have come straight out of a romantic movie.
It was Amelia's idea to trick Mary into believing that her husband was going to be in a coma forever without saying anything. They just had to approach her with a neutral expression, that is, the doctor face, rest will be left up to Mary. The surgeons wanted to cherish the look on Mary's face upon seeing her husband awake and of sound mind.
The shock was evident on her face upon seeing her husband propped up on his back on the hospital bed. She dashed to his bedside and hugged with all her might. The mood changed in the room. It began filling with love. This feeling overpowered all other emotions of the occupants of the room. Mary was continuously whispering I love you in Jai's ear.
Link felt this sweet feeling surge in his veins. They noticed that Nico and Schmitt were hugging and smiling looking at the pair. He wanted to hug Amelia so badly right now. He chanced looking at Amelia as she was the one making him feel this way. He wanted to hug her, kiss her, protect her from everything in this cruel world. He realised he was falling for her. HARD.
Amelia was experiencing the same thing. She never thought she was capable of feeling any love after Owen. But her she was, standing in a patient's room thinking only about Link. She looked back at him and smiled. He was intently looking at the couple with a soft gaze. She wanted to hug him, tight, kiss him and just stay in his embrace forever. He always made her feel safe, comfortable in her skin and protected. He always made her feel special just by a single look. He was just...something else.
Their eyes met. The whole world seemed to revolve around them. It was just the two of them. Something was drawing them in. They inched closer. The pair smiled and Link wrapped his arm around her shoulder. She leaned into his side feeling content. Link put a small kiss on her forehead and she sighed. This was the best feeling ever!
They left the couple alone and headed towards the nurse's station. Suddenly she felt herself being pulled into an on-call room. It happened so fast that she couldn't comprehend what was happening. She recovered from her initial shock when she felt two strong arms wrap around her waist pulling her into a big, warm body. She wrapped her arms around the owner of those gorgeous hands' neck and inhaled his scent. Link was smothering her face with kisses. He just couldn't control this bubbling feeling in his heart and just wanted to be near her.
Amelia sighed at his touch and ran her fingers through his hair. Taking his own sweet time, Link pulled back. He was staring deep into her eyes, their noses were so close to each other that they almost touched. " Amelia Shepherd, would you like to go on a date with me? "  Link looked so innocent when he asked this question that Amelia nearly missed that famous smirk of his. His eyes twinkled in the dimly lit room with playfulness and hope.
Amelia pretended to think for a second making him frown. " Um, let me see. Shall I go with you? Hmm, maybe I should? Or shall I not? ", her eyes were full of mirth and she enjoyed teasing him. Link pouted petulantly. Amelia laughed and hugged him, burying her face in the crook of his neck. " Of course I'll go on a date with you, silly." She could practically feel Link's smile. He tightened his arms around her waist wanting to hold her much closer. Now that he officially got her, he never wanted to let go. " Yayy! I'm the luckiest man in Seattle right now! "

She pulled back slightly with shock evident on her face. " In Seattle?! You should say you're the luckiest man in the whole world! ", she playfully smacked him on the chest. Link grinned and held her hand which attacked him, pulling her back to him again. He smiled and whispered in her ear with utmost sincerity," No doubt, I am." His words made her heart flutter and a shiver ran down her spine. They stayed like that in each other's arms for several more minutes before going to their respective floors. Before departing, Link questioned her, " Pick you up at 7? "
" Sure. But wait, what shall I wear? Casual or something you know...?", she raised her eyebrow suggestively. Link's eyes twinkled and he chuckled,  " Definitely that something! " Amelia nodded before kissing his cheek and waving him. Link lingered for a few more seconds, just staring at her retreating form before going on his way. How did I get so lucky?
At 6:15 in Meredith's house:
Amelia pounded on Maggie's door. " Maggie!! MAGGIEEEE, I need your urgent help. Come out."
Maggie rushed out looking disheveled.
" What? What? Did someone try to kill you? Did someone die? Wait. IS THERE AN INTRUDER?! Where are the kids? OH MY GOD! " Maggie went in a full panic mode. Amelia just stared at her sister. She can be so crazy sometimes. She laughed and tried to stop her. She cupped her shoulders, " Hold up, Maggie. To answer your questions, no, no and no. Kids are at a sleepover with Rene, so chill. Nothing's wrong. God. You make me not the crazy sister sometimes," she guffawed.
Maggie hit her on the shoulder. " What the hell, Amelia. What IS the problem then? "
Amelia sheepishly shrugged her shoulders, " Well, uhh I'm going on a date and I don't exactly know what to wear. Can you please help me decide? ", Amelia pouted. Anger left Maggie's body and was quickly replaced by enthusiasm.
" You're going on a DATE? Amelia I want the details. With whom? Is he from the hospital? Of course, he is. Is it Dr. Fitz from cardio? Oh, Amelia he's great. Amazing doctor. Great attending. Hot. SO DAMN HOT. And he's secretly after you too. I've totally seen him stare at you numerous times. He even asked me once if you were single," Maggie winked.
" Dr. Fitz likes me ?! Wow." She giggled sheepishly but couldn't picture herself with that hot doctor. The only man on her mind was a certain orto surgeon who was hotter than Fitz. In fact, the hottest doctor in the hospital. And today he was all hers. " No, God, Maggie no." She pulled her into her room. " I'll tell you who it is. Help me out first. "
There were dresses lined up on her bed. First outfit was a pant- suit similar to what she wore at the conference. Link really liked that outfit and everything began from there. The second one was actually tooo sexy for today. It was a blue dress that ended just a few inches above her knees and clung to her figure. I'll keep this for some other day, she thought smugly. The last one was a black floral dress that reached her knees and was snug fit. Fortunately, Maggie lifted that one, " This. " Amelia smiled at her." Okay thanks, Maggie." She then rushed her out of the room. " I need to get ready. Bye "  Maggie was speechless, " You were supposed to tell who you're going with! "  She humphed and left to gloat.
There was a knock at the door sharp at 7. Maggie tried to reach downstairs before Amelia to see who is was that her sister was so excited about but Amelia beat her to it. She was never the one to dress up but today was special. She wanted to look good for Link. She put on some light makeup which looked perfect on her pale skin and complimented her eyes. She wore small hoop earrings and a silver watch. Nothing too much, nothing too less either.
Her eyes bulged out when she reached the glass door. Link was looking dapper, freaking handsome. She couldn't take her eyes off him. He was standing with a bouquet of very beautiful red roses. Do I need to go through this whole date thing before jumping his bones? How am I gonna do that?!
Link on the other hand was rendered speechless at the sight of her. Ahhh, she looks so damn sexy. She looks absolutely gorgeous. God I really like her. I just can't wait to get to know her better. She's all mine today.
" Hi ," she said sheepishly.
" Hey. You look...", he trailed off, thinking of an appropriate word other than sexy. Amelia looked up with her hopeful eyes sporting a small knowing grin. "...gorgeous, Amelia. God, you're so beautiful." He leaned in to kiss her softly on the lips. The kiss was soft at first but was taking a different turn fast. Amelia slightly pulled back and grinned up at him. Her cheeks were rosy and Link kissed her forehead. She leaned in to put a lingering kiss on his cheek.

He handed her the bouquet, " And these milady, are for you." He bowed to put on a show. Amelia laughed and took the Rose's from his hands. " You're such a dork." She then put the bouquet in a vase situated near the door and took his hand. "Let's go," she whispered with a soft smile. Link couldn't believe his luck. How will I control myself if she keeps looking at me like that? This will surely be a long night. He was really excited to finally go out with her.
" IT'S LINK ??!!, " he heard a holler. Amelia yelped before pulling him outside. She laughed nervously before speaking, " Let's just go, okay. Ignore her."
Maggie came down the stairs to a shocking sight. Amelia kissing Link. She couldn't control her outburst. " Amelia, wait. Come back here." But she literally ran away in her heels.
Wasn't it just a one-time thing? And what did she call it, Pain Management, right? Nonsense. Huh, didn't I tell her to date Link in the first place? No one ever listens to me. Huh, I'm so smart.
In the car:
The car ride was peaceful with Link's hand on her thigh caressing trying to calm her down. This was what Amelia wanted to avoid. Maggie finding out. Now she'll never hear the end of it! Ughh. Link kept stealing glances at her. She was nervous. What in the hell was all of that?  " Amelia, are you okay? What exactly was that? ", he chuckled.
Amelia stuttered, " Ughh, um, no...nothing. It was just Maggie being Maggie," she laughed nervously. Link side-eyed her. He raised his eyebrow with a serious expression prompting her to spill. Like a kid caught red-handed stealing cookies, Amelia answered, " Well, Maggie kinda told me way back to date you. But I didn't listen to her and now look where we are. Doing exactly that." She looked down at her hands.

They had reached the famous Italian place in town by then. He parked the car before turning in her direction. He lifted her chin with his fingers. " Our timing was wrong at that time. Nothing else. Sooo, did you do a wrong thing by listening to her now? ," he asked her with a hint of insecurity. Amelia looked up at his eyes with confidence. " Of course  not. I can't even think like that. I'm really happy with you. I was looking forward to this night," her cheeks coloured.
That fluttering feeling returned and tugged at their hearts. She looked so beautiful to Link with her twinkling eyes and blushing cheeks that he leaned down to kiss her burning cheeks. He knew how flustered she could get around him. He couldn't help but tease her. " Calm down, Amelia. Breathe," he whispered in her ear. He then got down and walked towards her side of the car. Ughh I'll kill him. That man is doing it purposely. Huhhh. When did it get so hot in here? Amelia was fanning her face when Link opened her door. He helped her out of the car and wrapped her arm tightly around her waist.
Amelia teased, " Such a gentleman." He laughed, "At your service, madam." She laughed and smacked him on the chest. He took her to a fancy Italian restaurant. He knew she loved Italian. Amelia smiled warmly at him.

Heaven Help Me(Ch 9)
Jo and Amelia lounge on the Shepherd-Lincoln couch. Jo is visibly angry at the television where a Hallmark movie is playing.
She turns to Amelia, “This is so ridiculous! That guy is emotionally abusing her. He’s such a gas-lighter. What sane person goes to back to that? Who wrote this movie? I mean what if a teenage girl sees it?
Suddenly she thinks it’s okay for a guy to do that to her. I mean seriously, I was married to...I hate the media. I absolutely hate it.”
Amelia turns to the younger woman, “Jo; movies romanticize everything. You love crappy romance movies. Most girls luckily have smart friends who can help them out.” Jo looks Amelia in the eyes.
“Not all of them do. I didn’t. And I wish I did, but the truth is that this movie is messed up. The whole world is messed up.” Amelia picks up the remote, changing the movie to music.
“Okay, change of plans,” Amelia presses her lips together, “There are good guys out there Jo, you know that. Like Link...Alex Karev maybe?” Jo tilts her head, putting on an annoyed face.
“Amelia.”
“I’m just saying, you should go there. It’s clear he wants to,” Amelia remarks, taking the bowl from Jo and popping a kernel into her mouth. Then the doorbell rings.
Jo goes to answer it; it’s Link, Scout and their dinner.
“It’s just the boys,” Jo calls out to Amelia. Link winks, and Jo picks the toddler up. She squeezes him and he gives her a toothy smile.
Jo loves her pseudo-nephew. She loves Link and Amelia. But she craves something of her own. A husband, a baby that’s got her own flesh and blood. Someone that is hers; one that won’t hurt her or reject her.
She loves being an extension of their family, but she’s not a part of it. She can spend Christmas and birthdays all she wants, but she’s not in the family photos. She wants family photos.
“Aunt Jo?” Scout looks up at Jo with big, blue eyes.
Jo smiles, “Yes, sweetheart?”
“How come you’re not having a wedding?” Jo bites her lip.
“Like your mommy and daddy?” The toddler shakes his head vigorously. Jo feels deflated inside her chest, but prepares to answer the child nontheless.
“Well,” she begins, “because Aunt Jo doesn’t have someone she can marry right now. One day I will, but for now; no wedding for me. Okay?”
Scout drops the confused look he had worn previously. He shrugs, “Okay.”
Jo feels a rush of affection for the innocence he posesses. “Let’s go get some pizza.” And she brings them out of the entryway and into the kitchen, where Link and Amelia have laid out plates.
***
Ring, buzz, buzz, ring.
Jo realizes after a moment that her phone is going off and becomes fully awake.
She picks it up, “Hello?”
“So how did your tinder date go last night?”
“It’s five A.M., Steph.”
“Not for me. It’s seven here. And your last email provided me with this info, so give me all the details,” the voice on the other end says excitedly.
“Well I didn’t meet that husband I’m looking for,” Jo sighs, rolling onto her back.
“But was he cute? Hot? Please tell me at least he was eye candy for a couple hours,” Stephanie must be at work, becuse Jo hears chatter in the background.
“Okay fine. He was hot. But he was so boring. Steph, he was so boring. Like works at a bank boring, and wouldn’t shut up about it boring.”
Stephanie snorts, “Oh my god. What did he say when you told him you’re a brilliant surgeon?”
Jo groans, “Ugh. I didn’t even get to talk about me! It was one of those dates. Don’t make me remember anymore. Tell me all about your perfect, gorgeous beau please.”
“I really think he’s going to propose.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, because I saw the ring in his pocket, sucker.”
“I hate you so much!” The line goes silent for a moment.
“Hey, sorry Jo. I have to go, we’ve got another case coming in.”
“Fine, but call me later okay?”
“Yup. Bye, Jo.”
“Talk to you later.” Stephanie hangs up and Jo rolls back over into her side. Then her damned phone rings again. The caller ID reads Alex Karev.
“Alex, I swear to god,” Jo whines as she picks up the call, “This is the second call I’ve had at this unearthly hour.”
“Can you come in early today? Now, actually.” Jo shuts off her alarm, sitting up.
“Why?”
“Just come in! You won’t regret it.”
“Fine. Goodbye, Karev.” But Alex cuts her off, the line going dead. Asshole. But she’s smiling when she thinks it. And she hates herself for it.
***
Jo joins Alex at the Pediatric floor nurses station.
“Why did you bring me at the crack of dawn? Because seriously, Alex, if this is not urg-“
Alex doesn’t look up from his phone, “Take this and walk.” He hands her a tablet, a chart glowing on the screen.
“A Ladd’s procedure on a seventeen-year-old?” Jo turns to Alex, wide eyed. He finally looks back up at her.
“I know. He’s got the most malrotated intestines I’ve seen on someone over three.”
Jo grins at him, “Oh my god, Alex. I hate you so much. You dragged me into work just to brag about your stupidly cool procedure.”
“No, I brought you into work to scrub in on a stupidly cool procedure.” Jo’s jaw drops, and she pinches Alex’s arm.
“Ow! What the hell?”
“I hate you. So much. I still hate you. I can’t believe you tricked me like that.” Alex is grinning at her.
“OR 3, 6:45, okay?” he raises his eyebrows. Jo simply kisses his cheek, and then grins as she goes to prepare.
***
“You are my new best friend,” Jo tells Alex, as she maneuvers the tools, Alex holding the camera.
“What, like I wasn’t before?”
“Shut up,” Jo says softly through her mask, “And move the camera to the left slightly.”
Alex rolls his neck out, “You do have good visual right? Because if you mess up the easiest part of my very rare surgery- which I so kindly let you do- I’ll kill you.” Jo rolls her eyes.
“Seriously?” Alex shudders after she says it.
“What?”
“It’s uh- Izzie used to say that.”
“Oh Alex; I’m sorry. I didn’t-“
“It’s okay. You can say it all you want. Better you than her,” Alex laughs, and Jo is just relieved it’s slightly more than half-hearted.
***
When Alex and Jo exit the scrub room after the surgery, they run into Meredith Grey.
“Oh Alex! You’ll be at my house tonight right? Because Amelia and Link will be, and Hayes and the kids, and Maggie’s boyfriend is in town, and...just be there at seven. You too, Wilson.”
Meredith walks off before Alex can respond.
“Oh great,” Jo presses her lips together in annoyance, “family dinner.”

You and Wanda were figuring out last minute details for the podcast you were going to be recording this week. Everyone thought it was a great idea to have Pepper on the show talking about the new Potts of Honey facility under construction, upcoming product launches, and how she wants to bring new opportunities to local communities on the east coast.
“Is everything okay?” Wanda asked, looking up from her computer.
“Yeah, why wouldn’t it be?” You snarled back.
“You have been acting weird since the day after you told me you got laid last week.”
“Got my period.”
“Well at least we know he didn’t get you pregnant again,” she chuckled, forcing you to roll your eyes.
Your office remained silent for a few minutes before you felt confident enough to speak up. “Peter has a girlfriend, and I didn’t know about her until after we slept together.”
“It must not be that serious if...”
“They’ve been together for four months.”
“Shit! Why...why would he go that far then?” You shrugged. “How did you find out?”
“She was at his apartment, acting all lovey-dovey on him when I went to pick Mer up.”
Wanda looked at you like she was about to say something when Pepper stepped into your office. “Hey, girls. Wanda would you mind if I speak with YN alone for a moment.”
“Of course, I need to refresh my tea anyways.” Wanda shot you a caring smile before stepping out.
“How are you doing? You seem a little off since the day of your big ideas.”
“Oh my god, not you too,” you groaned, dragging your hands down your face.
“I don’t understand.”
“Yes, I got laid last week by my baby daddy. Yup, you heard that right Peter slash Star-lord is back in my life.” Pepper’s eyes widen. “I know you said you’re behind on my podcasts because you have been busy which I totally get, but yup he’s back, and I slept with him. And the worst part of all he has a girlfriend so it’s like deja vu but this time I am the other woman. Why do I keep doing this to myself?” You confessed as fast as you could get the words out.
“I had no idea. I'm such a terrible friend. I didn’t even notice what you were going through." Pepper came closer to you and put a comforting hand on your shoulder. “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay,” you sighed. “You have more important things to worry about. What did you want to talk about?”
“Well…it’s a job offer. Tony and I have been talking, and we agreed you're the best choice. You have been with us since the beginning, and you have helped grow what this company has become. It’s a big promotion, and it’s yours if you want it. I'm still trying to figure things out, but whichever facility I decide to run I want you to run the other."
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I trust you, and I know you will do great, especially with all my last minute vacations. You can handle it. It will come with a bigger office, more responsibilities, and more money. It will have the same feel with family coming first. You’ll have the same hours, but with more wow factor.” She waved her hands in front of her.  “I also would love you to keep doing the podcast. Everyone loves you and Wanda, and I don't want to change that.”
“This is a lot to take in,” you breathed, putting your hand on your chest.
“I know. That's why I am giving you till the end of the week to decide,” Pepper grinned at you.
“I don’t know what to say.”
“Say yes because you’re my only choice, but it’s your decision. I will leave you to think about it, and I'm looking forward to doing the podcast in a couple of days.”
“Me too."
______
“And with one last signature, you have yourself a record deal. Congratulations, Michelle!” Nat confirmed, clapping her hands together.
“Awesome,” Michelle said, nodding her head. "Thanks."
“She's so excited and grateful for this opportunity, Natasha," Michelle’s mother smiled. "She might not show it since she likes to keep her emotions in check."
“I’m like that, too,” Nat smirked. “How about we go to my office, and we'll set up your first session. Peter and Bucky will find some songs that might interest you, or if you have some of your own, we would love to hear them. We are here for you with whatever direction you want to go. Then we can figure out if there is another name you want to go by or if you want to go by Michelle. It’s up to you.”
“I was thinking MJ.”
“Like Michael Jordan?”
“No, like Michelle Jones.”
“Thata girl, I can work with that,” Nat nodded, shooting her a side smirk.
“Good,” Michelle said, following Nat out of the recording studio.
“She is sooo awesome,” Meredith gawked, watching her walk down the hall with Nat.
“You think so, Twig? I think she could have a little bit more personality,” Peter stated with a half shrug.
“She will be great, daddy.”
“We're trusting your judgment on this Mer,” Bucky added, crossing his arms across his chest.
“You should because I'm smarter than you.”
“Why’s that?” Bucky scoffed playfully, arching his brow at her.
“I saw you run into the door the other day,” she fired back, forcing Bucky to smirk at her quick comeback. “It was a pull door, not a push door; the sticker was right there telling you what yo do.”  He opened his mouth to say something, but Peter interrupted him.
“Hey, Twig. Why don’t you go get ready to leave. Your mom will be here any minute.”
“Okay,” she said, rushing out of the studio to Peters office.
Peter stood in the lobby waiting for Mer when he sees you pull up outside. You stayed in your car watching the front door like you have done so many times this past week. Ever since you met Bereet, you've been avoiding him and refusing to come into the studio. Mer told him it was because you said this way was faster and easier. All he could do was agree with your decision, but deep down, he missed talking to you every day.
He watched Mer stroll into the lobby holding onto her backpack straps talking with Michelle. For the first time, he could've sworn he seen Michelle smiling, but Mer could always make anyone smile.
“Bye, MJ. Hopefully, I will see you next week.”
“See you later, Mer,” Michelle waved, walking out of the studio with her mom.
“Are you two best friends now?” Peter inquired with a hint of amusement in his voice.
“I hope so. She is so cool.”
“I see your mom is waiting outside, Twig. How about you give your dear old dad a hug, and I’ll see you after school tomorrow.” He squeezed her tight into a hug, and she turned her head, kissing him on the cheek.
“Bye, daddy,” she waved, leaving the studio.
“What did you do to YN now?” Nat asked, making Peter roll his eyes and go to his office mumbling.
Peter sat at his desk looking thru this phone at the Everyday’s a Monday Instagram page. It was full of giveaways, behind the scene looks, and the ever-present whiteboard Wanda always mentions. Your face and Wanda’s was all over it. He couldn’t help but think how he fucked everything up again. He was being a coward. He always let you have the last word, and he never fought for you. Why? What was he holding out for; something better to come along. You were the best thing to ever happen to him, but he was too afraid to tell you he still loved you. He set his phone down and put his elbows on his desk, covering his face with his hands.
“Bereet incoming,” Nat shouted, walking past his office. He shook his head, running his hands through his hair.
“Hey, baby.” Bereet walked in, closing the door behind her. “I saw Meredith leaving once I pulled up, so you know what that means,” she squealed, sashaying over to his desk. “With the baby mouse away. It’s time for the adult mice to play.” She leaned back on his desk in front of him, but Peter’s eyes remained focused on the door. “Come on, babe. Let’s get out of here and do something fun?” She ran her hand up and down his arm.
“Bereet, stop,” Peter murmured still not looking at her.
“Stop what,” she smirked, lifting his arm to straddle his lap.
“I’m not doing this right now.” He pushed his chair back to stand and started walking to the door.
“Boooo, you’re no fun. What’s been going on with you lately? What did she threaten to take away your rights or something?” He stopped short once those words left her mouth. “Because wouldn't it be great if it was just you and me again."
“Excuse me?” He turned on his heels towards her.
“YN barged back into your life saying she has a kid with you, but you never asked for a paternity test? For all you know she tricked you because she wants to be in your life again, or she's after your money.”
“Why would you say that? What would make you think she's the kind of person who would do such a thing?”
“I mean, weren’t you the one who cheated on her because she was distancing herself. You have needs, and she wasn’t giving you what you needed. I give you what you need, and I make you happy. We belong together.” She stepped over to him, taking his hand in hers.
“See that is--” he shook his head, stepping away from her  “--that is where you're wrong. I thought...I thought you made me happy, but you don’t. You never have.”
“How could you say that? WE are happy together. You even bought me a ring.”
“WE are not in a relationship, Bereet. WE never were. I don’t know where you came up with the idea to think we were, but we’re not. Whatever this--” he pointed between him and her “--was or has been it's over. Oh yeah, the ring you found was for YN, not you.”
“AHHH,” she screeched, pointing a finger at his chest. “I bet, once you found out you shared a child with her it was a dream come true. You finally get another chance with the wonderful, YN,” she shouted with sarcasm lacing her words. “You’re obviously still in love with her, and I bet you were sleeping with her behind my back. Once a cheater, always a cheater. Have a good life Peter, or a worse one because if YN dumped you once before she'll do it again. And when she does don’t come running back to me. Good-bye Peter. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Bereet pushed past him, marching to the door.
“Wait--” Bereet stopped and turned around to face him “I’m gonna need my key back.” Peter held out his hand.
“Why? Are you gonna give it to YN?”
“Why would I tell you? Besides, I would be doing my apartment a service by not letting you use the amenities they provide anymore. I will say I have gotten a few complaints about you."
“Fine whatever I don’t care,” she grumbled as she took the key off her car keys and threw it at Peter, hitting him in the chest and landing right in his hand. She barged out of the room, cursing all the way out until he heard the front door slam shut.
Peter groaned, running his hands down his face. “FINALLY! If I knew she was that much of a clinger this would’ve been over a long ass time ago. Damn, I hate it when Nat's right.”
“Usually am,” Nat commented, leaning against the doorway. “Also, if memory serves me right, I told you giving her a key was also a bad idea.”
“Yeah, but on the plus side, she did always clean my apartment when she came over. So, who is the real winner here?” Peter shrugged with a slight smirk, earning an eye roll from Nat as she went back to her office. He still didn’t understand why she got her own office while he and Bucky had to share.
_______
It had been such a long day, and tomorrow was going to feel even longer with recording this week's episode. You loved your job, but some days you just wanted to curl up on the couch and watch trash television. It was a relief when Gamora decided to stop by for dinner, and surprise Mer with a confetti cupcake from her favorite bakery. Mer ended up having it before dinner because she didn’t want to be too full and not be able to eat it after.  As soon as Mer excused herself from dinner, Gamora went over to the paper bag and pulled out two bottles of wine.
“It’s time for some adult juice,” Gamora smiled, grabbing two glasses out of the cabinet and filling them up halfway. “What’s going on sis?”
“Where do I begin?” you sighed, taking the wine glass Gamora handed you.
“What’s going on with Peter?”
“How did you know…”
“Sister intuition,” She replied, tapping her fingers on the side of her head.
“Peter and I may have--” you take a long sip of wine “--we slept together.”
“You naughty girl.” She nudged you in the side, sending a quick fake HAHA out of you. “What brought this on?”
“He told me the truth about how he never cheated on me, and then I don’t know what came over me, but I grabbed him and kissed him. Then, bang.” You clapped your hands together.
“Then, why are you so upset?”
“He has a girlfriend I didn’t know about.”
“Oh! That complicates things,” she nodded, biting her lip. She reached over and grabbed the wine bottle refilling your glass. “What are you going to do?”
“I don’t know.”
“Did you talk to him?”
“Not yet,” you gulped. “I need to, but he frustrates me sometimes.” You clenched your jaw, holding your head in your hand.
“Cause you’re still in love with him.”
“Yeah I am, and I’m pretty sure he knows it, too, but it doesn’t matter anymore,” Your voice cracked, downing the rest of your wine. “I do need to tell him about the promotion Pepper offered to me, too. He deserves to know it might impact his time with Mer, which I hate to do to him. He loves that little girl, Gam, and I don’t want to take her away from him.”
“Hey--” she placed her hand on your knee “--does Peter deserve to know yes, but don’t worry about him and how things might change. Focus on what you feel will be best for you and Mer.  It’s a big opportunity, and it’s something you need to take the time and think about it,” Gamora added, flashing you a warm smile.
_______
“Hey Peter,” Mantis greeted from behind her desk with a warm smile. He nodded her way, stumbling to his office. He was still wearing his sunglasses which were doing nothing to ease his throbbing headache. Peter threw himself into his chair behind his desk and leaned back, closing his eyes.
“Where the fuck have you been, Peter?” Nat shouted, barging into his office. “We had a big meeting with the Howling Commandos this morning. Where were you?”
“I was busy,” he mumbled, letting out a long yawn.
“Busy? Are you kidding me?” He shrugged. “Did you go out last night and get drunk?” Nat barked at him, pacing back and forth. “Why would you do that? You knew how important this meeting was.”
“Can you not today, Nat? I have a lot on my mind right now,” Peter replied, making Nat scoff.
“Peter, there you are.” Bucky marched into their shared office and up to Peter's desk.  “Where the hell have you been?” Bucky inquired, pulling off Peter’s sunglasses.
“Dude!” Peter squinted at the light as he sat up, pinching the bridge of his nose as he tried to clear his cloudy thoughts.
“What’s going on, Peter? What happened between you and YN?” Nat asked, crossing her arms across her chest.
“Nothing, I’m fine, she’s fine, everyone is fine. I'm here at work, ready to listen to some crappy demos, find some shitty songs that will make number one on the charts, and oh, by the way, did I tell you YN and I slept together. But some of those demos turn out to be good, and the artist turns out to be really good. But then she saw Bereet at my apartment, and it was like deja vu 7 years ago, but this time she felt like the other woman because Bereet told her we were in a relationship. But sometimes the artist is terrible and no matter how many times we tell them NO they keep sending them and sending them and sending them,” Peter said, lowering his head to rest on his arms and hide his face on his desk. The room fell silent for a few short seconds.
“You slept with YN!”
“Boom, there it is,” Peter lifted his head, banging his hand on the desk. “Are you going to tell me it was a mistake, too? And how it was a heat of the moment kind of hook up? Because let me tell you something, it’s complete bullshit.” Peter pointed at Nat and then at Bucky, who stood in front of his desk.
“You told her the truth about what happened.”
“Yes, and you see where that got me,” he motioned around the room. “No fucking where.” He pushed against his desk, causing his chair to collided with the wall behind him as he walked over to the small bar in the corner. He pulled off the cork and poured himself a drink. “It didn’t do any good.”
Bucky reached for the glass, and Peter narrowed his eyes at him. “Dude, you’re cut off!”
“Why because I can’t have a functioning adult relationship without fucking it up. I mean one night I had her man. She told me she loved me.” He put a hand over his heart, staring down at the liquor bottles in front of him. “Well, she didn’t tell me per-say, but I know she meant it. She always used to put her hand over my heart and I would...nevermind it doesn't matter," he rambled, shaking his head. “She was here in my arms. Right here. I told her everything, but now it’s like nothing ever happened. She hasn't said more than 20 words to me. And fuck, when she saw Bereet in my apartment, and then in the parking garage she told me how she felt and I...and I just stood there like a fucking idiot. How can I make this right, Buck? How?” Peter’s voice drifted off in defeat. He peeked up at Bucky, seeing him exchange a quick look with Nat before she left their office.
“I don't know what to tell you, Pete. I'm no better at relationships than you are," Bucky confessed, making a smirk appear on Peter's face. "How about you sleep off whatever this is, and then, I will go with you to pick up Mer," Bucky offered, moving Peter over to the couch.
“Good idea, man. You always know what to do. Thanks,” Peter nodded, getting situated on the couch. Bucky let out a breathy chuckle before he turned off the lights and walked out of their office.
Peter stared up at the dark ceiling, realizing he wasn’t going to be able to fall asleep. No matter how piss drunk or hungover he got, you were all he could think about. He pulled his headphones from his pocket and plugged them into his phone. He tapped onto his podcasts app and tuned into the last episode he had left. He was always eager to listen to new episodes, so he stopped listening to them in order. Instead, he's been picking them at random hoping to hear your voice, but sometimes all he gets are Wanda's comments about you and the whiteboard. He didn't care what the podcast was about as long as he could listen to your voice.
______________
Lunch on podcast days was always short and quick, but since Pepper had a last minute meeting change, we needed to reschedule the podcast for tomorrow afternoon. For today, it meant you could get out of the office and have a nice long lunch break. You went down the street to order your favorite sandwich off the menu at Miek's Deli. Taking your usual spot by the window, you settled in and took your first bite as you scrolled through your phone.
Someone standing across the table from you compels you to peek in their direction, and see familiar red hair. “Hey, YN. Fancy meeting you here.”
“I should say the same. I didn’t know you came across town for this little sandwich shop?”
“Mer told me this place makes the best sandwiches,” she grinned, looking around the room.
“Yeah, she can never turn down a good sandwich,” you grinned, taking a bite of your own.
“Mind if I sit?”
“Go for it,” you said, through your bites. She pulled out her chair, muttering a quick thanks. “What’s the real reason you’re here?
“You cut right to the chase, don’t you?” She smirked at you. “I want to start by apologizing for the whole misunderstanding that led you to believe me and Peter…fondued so to speak." You nodded along as she continued. "I felt awful about it and wanted to track you down to explain, but Peter told me to leave it alone. I’m sorry it took so long for you to hear the truth."
“It's okay. Peter did tell me, and I’m not mad at you, it was bad communication on both our parts. Besides, it happened a long time ago plus he has Bereet now. He deserves to be happy with someone he cares about without me stepping in the way.” You shrugged, taking a sip out of your water bottle.
“Are you only saying that because you and Peter slept together?” she smirked. Your eyes widened at her question, causing the water to go down the wrong hole, forcing you into a coughing fit. “Guess that answers my question. I wouldn’t worry too much about it since things aren’t as serious with Bereet as you were led to believe.”
“How so?” You asked after you got your coughing under control.
“They were never exclusive. It was more of a friends with benefits deal, and she ended up catching feelings for him, but he didn't reciprocate. Bereet thought she could change him, but she couldn’t because he's still hung up on the girl who got away.” You swallowed, staring hard at the table. “If it’s any consolation, Peter broke off whatever he had with Bereet yesterday.”
“Oh.” Your eyes flashed to hers in shock.
“I felt like I needed to tell you, given Peter’s track record. Who knows how long he would’ve waited until he told you the truth this time.”
“Thanks, I appreciate your honesty,” you smiled as she nodded.
“Enough about my idiot friend, but how are you? How is work? Mer told me Potts of Honey might be pollinating to a new facility in New York.”
“It is, but keep it hush-hush. Not many people know yet not even the press,” you whispered.
“My lips are sealed.” Nat locked her mouth with a key and threw it over her shoulder.
“Mer has a hard time keeping her mouth shut sometimes,” you chuckled, shaking your head. “But, yes, New York was a fun adventure, and I might even receive a promotion because of it."
“Oh, are you going to be running the facility in New York?”
“There is a high possibility, but my boss is still figuring out what she wants to do.”
“Still that's exciting. Congratulations," she smiled, squeezing your forearm.
“Thank you. We also got an intern this week, so we are showing her the ins and outs of everything,” you added. “How have you been? How's the studio? Mer mentioned something about you signing the high schooler from Queens.” Nat stared at you with wide eyes. “Let me guess she wasn't supposed to tell me.”
“No, it's not a secret anymore,” she snorted a chuckle. “Works keeping us busy but then again it always is.” Nat's eyes wandered to her sandwich, biting her lip as if she was debating something. “I know we don't know each other very well, but I get the feeling we would be great friends if we met under better circumstances.” She paused, and you nodded, setting your sandwich on the table. “Um, can I get your advice on something. You know woman to woman.”
“Of course, us ladies have to stick together.”
“I'm ah--” she cleared her throat, peeking over at you “--I'm pregnant.”
“Are you serious?” You asked with a warm smile on your face as Nat nodded. “That’s great news, Natasha. I'm happy for you and Bucky. Does he know yet?”
"No. You're the first person I told." Your eyes widened in surprise about to say something when she continued. "I don't know why I haven't told him yet. To be honest, we never really talked about having kids. Bucky always wanted a dog, so he finally got one, but a baby is going to be a whole different adventure. Looking back, I realize we should've gotten a dog sooner," she chuckled as her eyes traveled to the table. "Kids were never on my radar, but after seeing Bucky interact with Meredith, it opened my mind up to the opportunity of having kids. I don't know much about babies or how this all works--" she motioned to her stomach "--but I was wondering if I could use your mom brain to get advice on certain things?"
“Yes, anytime. I’m happy to help you,” you smiled, reaching over to give her hand a reassuring squeeze. “When were you planning on telling him?”
“Soon. Do you have any advice?”
“Don’t wait seven years to tell him.”
______
AN: Who's happy for Nat and Bucky? I know I am! Hmmmm....with one part left do any of you have any theories about how it’s gonna end? Is the reader going to be escaping to New York and Peter is going to have to chase her down in an airport? Or is she gonna be staying in Malibu and all he has to do is knock on her door? Or will they not make up at all? Guess we will find out next week. As always, thanks for reading!

Complicated With Strings
So this is kind of from a prompt I got, Betty sees Owen and Amelia’s relationship change. Well it is less of a how she saw it change to a sudden in your face change. I may try and do a progress one like you wanted. Anyway enjoy.
“What?” I ask my annoyance growing by the second. Owen had been staring at me for the past five minutes, and it is not the first time. Both he an Amelia these past couple weeks kept looking at me funny. I wonder if they thought I was on drugs again.
“Uh.. what… nothing.” He quickly says as he looks away from me and back at Leo who is playing on the floor.
The room filled with awkward silence. Leo starts to cry, so Owen gets up and goes to change his diaper or put him down for a nap or something. I hear the front door open but don’t move from my spot on the couch.
“I’m home!” Amelia quietly announces, again I don’t respond or even move from my laying position on the couch. I’m just not ready for another round of awkward looks like they think I am hiding something from them. Which I’m not.
I hear Owen’s loud footsteps coming back into the living room, “Hey, you’re home early? How was work?” I hear Owen asking her, neither of them can see me and I figure this is a good opportunity to figure why they are acting so weird.
“It was pretty good. How was yours?” Her voice is low like her and Owen are standing close together. I don’t hear Owen respond but next thing I know Amelia’s jacket is thrown over onto the couch on top of me.
“What are you doing!” I sit up, no longer able to keep quiet.
They instantly move away from each other but not quick enough for me not to see exactly how close they were to one another. They share a glance of panic with one another, before returning their focus to me. “Uh… We were just… It is complicated.” Owen starts to say clearly uncomfortable to be caught in the act.
I nod my head a little grossed out, I mean, like, they are old enough to be my parents… do people that old still have sex? GROSS! “Okay. No don’t explain, I don’t need to hear the dirty details. I’ll just go up to my room and leave you alone.” I say as I climb off the couch and head upstairs.
“No, come on, Betty lets talk about this. We wanted to tell you, but we weren’t sure how to.” Amelia says moving to stop me from escaping to my room.
“Wait, this is why you two have been acting so weird around me? Giving me funny looks?” Betty asks.
Owen scratches the back of his head, while Amelia answers me, “Well, we didn’t mean to act weird or give you looks, but yeah, I guess so. I am so sorry, we should not have lied to you.”
“It’s cool.” I shrug my shoulders relived that at least now all the weird behavior was going to stop.
“It is?” Owen asks, the surprise evident in his voice.
I chuckle to myself, “Yeah, I mean I already knew about this anyway.” I say gesturing between the two of them. “And I told you at the wedding that I thought you were a couple, well more like I was confused whether or not you were. But still, it is not a big deal.”
“What do you mean you already knew?” Amelia quirks her eyebrow at me, catching that detail.
I shuffle my feet and look down at them as I respond, “Ah… I’ve heard you. Like quite a few times.” I see Amelia’s eyes widen in shock and then she looks at Owen who is turning quite the shade of pink. “But, really it’s cool. We don’t need to have some big talk about it.” I dash up to my room before the conversation gets anymore awkward.
I wait to hear Betty’s door close upstairs before I let a laugh escape me. I turn to look at Owen, who still looks quite embarrassed to just been told we had been caught in the act. “Well, I guess our secret is out now.” I say still trying to contain my laughter.
“It’s not funny, Amelia!” Owen says his face still quite red.
I finally get a hold of my laughter, “Owen, she said it is fine. I mean obviously we shouldn’t be obvious about it still, but it isn’t that big of a deal.” I try and rationalize with him.
“But… like shouldn’t we go talk to her and try and explain ourselves.” Owen says, not looking like he is looking forward to that conversation.
“You mean like tell her why we were having sex? Because I am pretty sure she knows all about the birds and the bees, Owen. She does have a son after all.” I say, still finding this whole situation a little funny.
Then Owen’s eyes look even more alarmed, “Oh no… if Betty has heard us that means Leo has too.”
“Owen, he is a baby he doesn’t know what he is hearing. Would you just relax it isn’t that big of a deal.” I say moving towards him, pulling him into a kiss, however, he pulls away and pushes me away from him. “Owen!” I exclaimed, shocked by his actions.
He shakes his head and takes another step back, “Oh no. We are not having sex anymore. Especially around the kids.”
“You are being ridiculous.” I say to him, knowing this freak out can’t last long.
He puts on a poker face, “I am serious, Amelia. No more sex.”
I try not to laugh, “Okay. We will see how long that last.” I say as I saunter towards our bedroom. I throw in an extra swing in my hips just to taunt him.
The next day at work, I am telling Meredith and Maggie all about what happened last night. From getting caught by Betty, to her telling us she has heard us having sex, to Owen declaring we were a sex free household.
“Oh my, that is hilarious.” Maggie says.
Meredith is laughing too, “Amelia, I know I said you and Owen were playing house, but you are going to need to learn to play more quietly with kids in the house.”
“I can’t believe how much of a baby Owen is being about this.” I grumble, annoyed that he was still determined to never have sex in the house again.
“How long do you think he’ll last?” Meredith asks.
“If I had a kid tell me they heard me having sex, I think I’d be scarred for a while too.” Maggie says.
“I don’t think he will last long. Not if I have anything to do about it.” I say to Mer. “And Maggie, it is not that big of a deal, everyone has sex, we have all heard you before. Why should it be any different with Betty.” I ask not seeing the big deal, especially since I know she isn’t a virgin herself, she isn’t some innocent flower I have to protect.
“The big deal is nobody wants to hear their parents having sex. It’s gross to think about.” Maggie shudders.
“Reading about it is even worse.” Meredith says referring to her mothers’ journals.
Then a new voice enters our conversation, “Reading about what is worse?” Webber’s curious voice fills the attending lounge.
“Ah… Consult. Got to go. Bye.” Maggie quickly excuses herself from the conversation.
Richard only throws me and Meredith a even more questioning look, causing us both to laugh, before Meredith responds. “Sex.” Richard becomes uneasy as he looks between us. “What do you think Richard, is it worse to hear your parents having sex or reading about it?” Meredith asks only adding to Webber’s uncomfortableness.
“I… Ah… Well.” He stammers.
“We were talking about how Betty overheard me and Owen.” I tell him trying to make it a little less awkward.
He tries to continue the conversation, so he awkwardly asks, “How do you know she heard you?”
“Because she told us. And now Owen says we can’t have sex anymore.” I say, giving Richard probably a little more information then he needed or wanted.
“Well. I think I am on his side. Nobody wants to hear other people’s sex lives.” Richard says heading back towards the door hoping to escape this conversation.
Meredith nods in agreement with Richard, “I agree, Owen is right, unless you figure out how to be less loud.”
“You two are so helpful.” I jokingly sigh.
I have to admit though they have a point, and maybe so does Owen. We will have to be way more careful now with two kids in the house. It would be easier if one of them wasn’t already grown up and we could learn to hide it a little better. Oh well, I wanted the strings and I guess this is part of them.

Starting point ✘ Earth 2 Barry Allen Imagine; with his and reader’s daughter! ✘

Thanks @lyss-91 for beta ♡
✘ Summary: Once, Meredith Grey quote: ‘’The family you’re born into is simply a starting point. They feed you and clothe you and take care of you, until you’re ready to go out into the world.’’, but how is this for family? In fact, how can a father see his little girl going into the world and just let her go?
(it’s Earth 2 Barry x Reader with their daughter.)
Tumblr media
‘’Mom, dad, I’m going.’’
‘’Fine, babe. Be back at 10.Don’t be late and tell me everything when you come back, okay?’’ You smiled excitedly at your only daughter. It was a great moment in a teenager’s life: she was going on her first date! In fact, it seemed you were more excited than her, but that was just the details.
“Where are you going, honey? Dinner is almost ready!” Barry said as he left the kitchen and joined you in the living room, with a lovely dork smile, his excitement at cooking his famous pasta made you want to kiss him.
“I have a date, Dad. I didn’t tell you?” Your and Barry’s daughter asked, a little confused, but then she shrugged. ‘’I think I forgot. I’ll get back at…“ Barry’s face dropped.
’'But… This is our Family’s Thursday. I always cook the pasta and…” Barry’s sad tone changed to a protective, almost jealous one. “Are you going on a date? Like, a date with a boy?” He raised his eyebrows. You just leaned against the wall, putting your hands on top of your mouth to hide the smile that had formed on your face.
“I’ll be here next Thursday, daddy. And yes, a date with a boy. Can I go now?” The younger girl made the puppy eyes she had inherited from her father, and you saw your husband almost accept her request.
“Hmm… No!” Barry folded his arms, making the kid open her mouth to complain, but then speaking before she had the chance to. “You’re my daughter, I can not let you leave at this time of night with a… A boy!”
‘’But daddy!’’
“Okay, sweetie. Let me talk to your dad alone for a minute, right?” You asked, noticing it was time to intrude. She sighed and sat down on the couch, playing with her pink dress as you gently grabbed Barry by the elbow back to the kitchen. “You’re so adorable being all jealous and protective, you know?” You giggled.
“That’s not funny, (Y / N).” He pouted and you kissed his lips quickly, and then a smile appeared on his face. But you were here to talk about something serious.
“Honey … You need to let her go.”
“Let her go? (Y/N), she is only 15! She’s a child.” Your husband raised his arms exasperated, worried even with the slightest idea of you letting her go. “ And… And… bo-boys at this age just think about one thing!” Barry blushed as he said the words, looking down at the floor quickly before turning his gaze back to you.
“You’re so cute, Bartholomew Henry Allen.” You smiled, feeling your heart heat up at Barry’s protection and jealousy over your daughter. That made him blush even more. You laughed lightly and wrapped your arms around his neck, your lips connecting with his. Barry returned without thinking twice, but soon turned away from you.
“N-no, (Y/N)! I-It will not change my mind.” He said breathlessly, adjusting his glasses on his face.
“Babe, I love you. And our daughter loves you, too. But it’s time for our baby to grow up, you know that.”
“I don’t want her to grow up.” Barry admitted, the light blush back on his cheeks as well as the sad tone of his words as he looked down. You took his hand and caressed it, smiling at the sight of your wedding ring.
“Remember when you asked me to marry you?” He looked up at you and smiled.
“How could I forget? I was so nervous, the statistics were that you’d say no and… ”
“In what earth would the statistics say that (Y/N) would say no to Barry Allen? ” You interrupted, arching an eyebrow.
“Well, that was not the best wedding request. I was stuttering and a mess, and… ”
“And perfect. And I’d say yes a million times.” You gave him a long kiss. “Don’t you want our daughter to taste a love like the one we have?”
“Of course I want that, (Y/N). But she’s so young. She’s our baby. I need to protect her’’
‘’Protect her from what, Barr? We need to let her live. We did our part, warned and made her learn, babe.’’
‘’She’s my babygirl. The little girl I saw born, that I changed dirty diapers, that I sang In my life until she feel sleep in my arms. The little girl I helped when she fell off the bike and the little girl I still teach mathematics and physics to. ” Barry said, a few tears forming in his eyes.
“And the same girl who will always love you, Barry. But she needs to get out, meet boys and things like that. She has to grow. And she will never abandon you, our daughter loves you Barry. You are her father, her hero. ”
“I’m just scared to lose her, I guess.”
“You’re never going to lose me, daddy. I love you.” The younger Allen, who was listening to everything, walked into the kitchen and hugged Barry tightly. He returned the hug. His little girl had grown so much, but always would be his little girl.
“I love you, too, babygirl.” Both looked at you and you smiled, going into the hug.
“I can stay here tonight.” The girl said, breaking the hug and running a hand over her eyes. She looked so much like Barry!
“No, you can go.” Barry gave a small smile. Taking off his glasses to wipe on his shirt. His daughter tilted her head, as if asking ‘Are you sure?’ And Barry nodded. “Just…”
“I know, I know, be home at 10, not even a minute later.” She smiled excitedly and kissed his and your cheeks. “Mom already told me this, love you. Bye!” The young lady ran out of the house so fast that her father dopleganger, The Flash, would be jealous.
“I was going to say be careful.” Barry sighed, putting on his glasses. Before you said anything, she ran back into the kitchen and hugged Barry.
“By the wat, mom was right. You’re still my hero, dad. And you will always be.” He squeezed her one last time before letting her go.
“We did a good job, didn’t we?” Barry asked, a small smile on his face as he looked into the living room, watching the door close and his daughter leaving. You hugged him from behind and kissed his shoulder.
“Yes, we did.”

Jackson Avery Imagine
Jackson Avery Imagine 1177 Words Suggestions: Reader and Jackson are friends with benefits. An accident happens and some of the residents get hurt, including Jackson. Jackson flatlines, scaring the Reader, but then comes back from dying. Some fluff. Reader is Alex’s older sister. Requested By: Several Anonymous
Tumblr media
“We sleep together, what else is there to say,” You raised an eyebrow in question.
“Well, for starters, you could’ve said ‘Hey, I’m sleeping with Avery’,” Alex growled at you as you both walked down the hall.
“Well, ‘Hey, I’m sleeping with Jackson, and my brother can’t handle the fact that his big sister’s sleeping with someone. He’s pissed’.”
“Okay, I’m not pissed, I’m super pissed. You should’ve told me.”
“Tell my little brother I have a sex life? No thanks.”
“Who has a sex life,” Cristina arrived next to Meredith.
“My sister does,” Alex muttered.
“Oh, I knew that.”
“What the hell?!”
“They were sworn to secrecy,” You shrugged.
“No, Meredith swore me to secrecy,” Cristina said.
“Ah, yes, Meredith did, because when I told her, I was drunk. I recall that actually. Even if he loves me, then I can say the feeling’s mutual. If he doesn’t, well guess what, it’s sex.”
“You’re really friendly with Jackson,” Meredith nodded.
“Yeah, super friendly, because I’m nice, unlike the Younger Karev here,” You looked at Alex in annoyance.
“I can be nice.”
“Say that again without lying, oops, wait, you can’t.”
You gave him a fake pout as you went into the elevator. You stared at the 3 as you waved, going down. After a floor, the doors open to reveal Mark Sloan and Jackson Avery. You raised an eyebrow.
“Oh, well if it isn’t the Older Karev,” Mark said.
“Well look, if it isn’t Mark Sloan, the guy that wants to sleep with me,” You rolled your eyes.
“I try.”
“You do, and you fail.”
“So, I heard, you’re sleeping with someone. Care to share the details?”
“No.”
“Why not? You tell me about most of your sex life.”
“Because it was almost similar to yours. Now, it isn’t.”
“This guy is different?”
“Yeah, he is, in a way.”
The doors open.
“Well, give me a hint.”
“He’ll tell you if he wants. Bye boys,” You smiled and walked out.
You pulled out your scrub cap and put up your lab coat. You grab a mask as you walk into the O.R.
In the middle of your surgery, Mark runs in and stares at you.
“Yes,” You asked, raising an eyebrow, not looking at him.
“How close are you done with your surgery,” He asked.
“I just closed, why?”
“There was an accident with some ambulances.”
You looked up in shock. You finished your final stitch.
“Alright, everyone, get this man into the ICU… Let’s go,” You said.
You both ran to the E.R.
“What the hell happened,” You yelled.
“2 ambulances crashed and a 3rd came in and exploded.”
“Damn,” You cursed.
“Some Residents and Attendings were outside,” Webber looked at you.
Your breath hitched.
“God this looks awful.”
You saw a couple stretchers walk in.
“Alex!”
He coughed, being rolled in as he has some black smudges on him.
“I was in the back of the blast radius,” He said.
“I can’t take care of you. Who was in the blast?”
“Uh, me, Mer, Torres, Kepner, Avery, Hunt… Damnit, I can’t remember the rest.”
“Good, that’s all you need to tell me.”
You turned your head as your heart dropped.
“KAREV, I NEED YOU IN HERE,” Bailey shouted to you.
You ran into the trauma room.
“He was in the front of the blast,” She said.
You looked down at Jackson and took a deep breath. You checked his eyes.
“Alright, no signs of pupils blown, get a head C.T, I want a full front of labs done, and page Plastics to get his ass in here to help out with these burns,” You said, lifting up a cloth to see some minor burns.
“(Y/n)-,” Bailey started.
“He is your patient. I know… Trust me when I say I’m not going to be in that O.R.”
“He’s in tachycardia!”
You saw his heartline go flat. Your heart rate increased.
“Damnit.”
You stepped back as Bailey pulled out the paddles. Mark ran in as soon as he could.
“Charging to 100.”
He jerked up but his heart rate did nothing. You stared.
“C’mon Jackson,” You whispered.
“Charging to 150.”
“Jackson.”
“Charging to 200.”
“He’s been down 10 minutes,” Someone said.
“I’m not giving up on him.”
“(Y/n),” Mark muttered.
You didn’t hear him. Your mind concentrated on the heart monitor.
“Charging to 250.”
He body jerked up again as his heart rate became steady. You held your chest and sighed with relief. Mark placed a hand on your back. You closed your eyes.
“We need to get him in the O.R. If you’re coming along Sloan to treat his burn injuries, you need to move along as well,” Bailey said.
You grabbed Mark’s collar.
“Don’t let him flatline in there,” You whispered.
He grabbed your wrist. You looked up at him as tears flowed down your cheeks.
“Don’t let him flatline, please,” You whispered again.
He nodded and ran. You got out of the trauma room and rubbed your face.
After a few hours, you sat next to Alex’s E.R. bed and read a magazine. He looked at you.
“Shouldn’t you be doing something,” He asked.
“I don’t have surgery. My patients are being checked on. I got you to worry about. You’re my baby brother,” You said.
“I’m talking about Avery.”
No one gave you an update on him, which made you worry. Your face was tear stained.
“You should go check.”
“I asked someone for a favor. Don’t worry. You’re fine, aren’t you?”
“Just a few more tests and they’ll release me, I hope.”
“You’re fine.”
“(Y/n),” You heard.
You turned your head to see Mark. You stood, setting the magazine you had down.
“I gotta say, first, I’m shocked that you’re sleeping with my guy, Avery, and second… He’s alright. He made it through surgery and should make a full recovery,” He smiled at you, at first he gave you a serious face.
“Goddamnit, I gotta say god bless you, but now is not the time,” You shook your head, running off.
Mark looked at Alex.
“Who tipped you off,” Alex asked him.
“Avery did himself, after she left the elevator,” Mark nodded.
“At least I’m not the last one to know.”
“She’s your sister, and you didn’t know?”
“Yeah, I didn’t.”
You raced into Jackson’s hospital room, where he was fully awake. You walked in and stood next to his bed.
“How are you feeling,” You asked, not trying to be obvious.
“Like hell,” He said, leaning back.
“I heard you’re going to make a full recovery.”
You sat on his bed a little bit.
“Yeah, Sounds alright.”
You smiled.
“Sloan told me what you said to him,” He looked at you.
“Uh-huh. He did, eh?”
“Another reason why I love you, no need to state it that much.”
“I thought we were friends with benefits, by your definition.”
“I thought we could be more, if you want.”
You leaned forward and kissed him.
“Oh yeah, I wanna be more.”
You grinned.
“I love you too dummy,” You pinched his cheek.
