^ This dismantling has been in process long before the united debacle (not to discredit the huge pressure it must have put on them) and a large part of that wasn't "one person" making a difference, but pharmacists and techs coming together to change things for themselves and their patients.
CVS buying insurances (who arbitrarily decide how much each pharmacy gets reimbursed for orders) and turning themselves into a conglomerate of CVS's-only that didn't function well in the first place, was the driving force. The legislation and unionization of pharmacies, the regulations of insurances, of working conditions for pharmacists and insurers, has all been going on long before Brian Thomson was a headline.
Would 100% recommend anyone interested in the breaking up of United and insurances like this to look into CVS, and what insurance their current CEO came from after they were forced to sell it off. They owned far more than just caremark up until recently.
