               weeks had passed since she’d last seen them in passing , months had passed since they’d actually said more than three words to each other . whilst they hadn’t ended things amicably , she’d still found herself missing them , longing for them .. and since having been so dependent on them , it had been hard for her to adjust to single life   -   hence why she’s now three months deep into a fresh relationship with some guy that had hit on her at the gym . her bars truly had been lowered .                 but having them here , sat across from her , breathing the same air as her for what felt like the first time in forever .. the memories the two had shared that she’d suppressed began to swarm back in , whether she wanted them to or not .  “ i’m happy for you , “  she echoed , mimicking their tone in the way she would often do during their arguments , frowning across at them with a sad look in her eyes .  “ yeah , as if that’s what i wanted to hear you say after months of radio silence . i left and you didn’t even try to get me back .. i wanted you to fight for me , but it looks like i just gave you exactly what you wanted : a way out . “
